Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're here with Brian and Stephanie soon to be the
micshase welcome, thank you, We're so happy you guys are here.
I saw your story and I was so touched by
it because you lost everything in the eaten fire.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Almost everything. She got the pets out.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Okay, all right, evacuated, shocked, sad, trying to find some
kind of hope.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Yeah, So I saw you went back to your pile
of ashes, which used to be your home, and you
were looking for something special. Brian tell us about it.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
I had bought an engagement ring about almost a month prior,
and it was stashed in the back of my desk
drawer and which she didn't know about. And at one
point she'd even said after she'd evacuated, because I was
out of town when that she evacuated, she said, you know,
if I'm able to go back, let me know if
you want me to get anything important. And I thought
about being like, Okay, there's a plastic bad egg in
(01:00):
the back of my dvore, but don't look aside it.
But so when went back to the ashes, I mean,
that was the only thing for me that I was
really really concerned with finding and I thought I was
looking for a stone. I thought that the ring was
going to disintegrate. Yeah, and you know it was. I
really didn't think I was going to even find the stone.
(01:20):
But yeah, I mean I was on my knees and
I you know, you uncover a ring and it has
the shiny diamond at the end of it.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
I mean, I could not believe.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
I could not believe to be seeing anything that was intact,
let alone, you know the most important thing.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
And Stephanie, it was so moving when Brian when you
got down on your knee and the ashes, and then
he asked you, first of all, would you have looked
in the bag if you had the opportunity. I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
I would like to say no, but I think us
w appeach.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
What what your story is just hope. It's it's hope
for everyone who who lost so much and then to
find this, I mean, literally a diamond in the rough.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
I think about our neighbors a lot.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
I mean the day that we were searching, you know,
everybody on our lane. You know, we saw our neighbors
coming in and it was very solemn. Understand, we haven't
even like talked to you know who, We just see
and acknowledge.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
We're giving hugs and crying with Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
So, I mean, I'm really hoping that our neighbors have
you know, the means and the energy to go back
and find their own things.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
And you know, it takes a lot of support. These people.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
We've received a lot of support which we really appreciate,
which has made a lot of this possible. And we
really hope that people can continue to support Altadena and
help it rebuild, help our neighbors rebuild.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Yeah, and you're still so selfless, you know, you're worried
about everyone else.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Once because we want to go back and live in Alta. Yeah,
we want to. We want to soak that place up.
The place was incredible, what a special community.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Yeah, we want to help you out with some things
that might come up. So we have some gifts for you,
oh way, just to build your lives together and to
find a little bit of fine.

and a gas cart for the road.
