Dear Ellen, my husband and I adopted our son Jason
at birth. When he turned twelve, we told him about

his adoption and let him know that when he turns eighteen,
we would support his decision. If he ever wanted to
find his birth mother, his biological mom, he did. They
met and they have a great relationship and we adore her.
Jason is twenty six. He's grown into an incredible young man.
He's built a career in city planning. He met a
girl who makes him happy, and their wedding is in November.

Jason recently sat me down and told me through tears,
that he'd liked to ask his birth mom to share
the first dance with him at the wedding. He said
he feels he owes it to her. She missed his
whole childhood, and that by meeting her it's made him
feel whole. He feels like he knows where he came from.
I am devastated from the moment I held Jason in

my arms. I loved him as my own. I've been
there for every scrape knee, every late night worry, every celebration,
and every challenge. I feel like I'm losing something I
always thought was ours. I don't want this to cause
any conflict. More than anything, I want Jason to have

is responsible for sickening several California sea lions in Malibu.
The California Wildlife Center set over the weekend it had
received fourteen calls in just four days for sea lions
in distress. They are benign and toxic strains of algae blooms,

which animals may be exposed to through ingestion of contaminated fish.
In its toxic form, it damages the brain and heart
even in low doses. Affected sea lions have seizures, displaying
a craning head motion, and may also appear highly lethargic
or in comatose states. The Wildlife Center is treating the

I is if you ever meet your biological parents, we
would like to be there to give them a hug.
Oh and so we were raised with that mentality with
this young gentleman. My brother met his biological parents as well,
five years ago. So I understand this young gentleman. I

witnessed my brother go through the the joy, you know,
the extreme, you know, like I said, excitement. So I
believe this this young man is going through that as
well as he should. But also as a mom myself
of a young man, it would also break my heart

(32:18):
if he were to have his first dance with someone else.

So would you say that Sherry should stay silent? Or
should she say my heart is broken? Can I come
in on the dance? Maybe you start with her and
bring me in.
