Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're glad you stay here with us. It's the Yellen
k Morning Show. That's who we are. Coast one of
three point five and good morning too, yell, I'm Ellen.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Hello one social Quan Darlene, good morning. I'm producing Mi Gromos.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
And coming up we will be honoring Brian Wilson. Hearing
all the Beach Boys songs reminded me of swimming I was.
I was a competitive swimmer all of my life, like
getting in the pool at eight and joining the swim team.
My first lap was doggy paddle and my coach I
had to say that that's not a competitive stroke. But

(00:36):
I fell in love with it and I used to
swim twice a day. We would work out before school
and after school and then all throughout the summer, and
we had speakers underwater and of course on top of water,
so we would always listen to the Beach Boys. So
hearing all of the Beach Boys music brings me back.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
It's just everything beach related you hear.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
It's almost like embedded in our you know, and our brain.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Summertime.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Brian Wilson born in Hawthorne and Carney Wilson, his daughter,
hosting a beautiful post. We'll share that with you in
Inside Entertainment, saying she's never felt pain like this. But
memorial flowers for Brian Wilson placed on his star at
fifteen hundred Vine. All right, so they are there if
you want to go by and see his star on
the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He's also a Hall of Famer.

(01:22):
Just what an amazing man. And thank you for your music,
Brian Wilson. But yeah, the swimming, just all those songs,
it's just because that would be the thing, you know,
like we were like we have speakers underwater.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
We can hear that.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Such field good music too, heh yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
All right, well it is your Friday Eve, so we're
going to get into that. Also, you want a thousand dollars,
we have it for you. The song is Losing My
Religion r e M. It's your llen K one kpaida
song of the day. When you hear it, Color twenty
gets that cash.

the news, turn the llen K Morning Show up loud

on TNT and True TV, the Florida Panthers hosting the
Oilers of Edmonton. Also fu Bar Netflix season two that
stars Arnold sharks Mecker. Every time I think of him now,
I think of him talking about his son, Patrick's Weeny.
But it's Fubar and so it's a good father's day type,

(03:19):
you know, series to watch. But my husband said that
every Father's Day he needs to watch Fletch, And so
I'm like, is that just an excuse to keep us,
like from not going out or brunching or anything but
Fletch with Chevy Chase.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
That's funny.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
He's like, are we gonna watch Fletch again this weekend? Like, well,
we have graduation, We're not gonna be.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Home that kind of thing.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Anyway, all right, Roy, we'll sneak it in somehow. And
this is a fun throwback on your Throwback Thursday.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Did you know Dolly.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Parton one streaked naked through Tom Jones's backyard? All right,
there's an old clip of Dolly circulating telling the story,
but it is what she said. She goes it was
many years ago. She's mellowed out a little. Tom Jones
lived in bel Air and he was hot as could be.
Dolly had friends visiting her and so they all stayed
at the Beverly Hills Hotel. And then she decided, look,

(04:11):
we've got to go find out where Tom Jones lives
because all of our friends wanted to.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
See it too.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
So they took off all their they found his house,
they took off all their clothes and they ran through
his backyard.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
I think that's so sweet.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Oh, and we are mourning the loss of Beach Boys
founder Brian Wilson born raised in Hawthorne. His family didn't
announce the exact cause of death, but he was diagnosed
with dementia and placed in a conservativeship.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Last year. He was eighty two.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Carnie Wilson, his daughter, is a listener Carney. Our hearts
go out to you. She did a beautiful post saying
my father was every fiber of my body. He will
be remembered by millions and millions until the world ends.
I'm lucky to have been his daughter and had a
soul connection. I've never felt this kind of pain, but
I know he's resting up there in heaven or maybe
playing the piano for Grandma Audrey, his mom. Anyway, she said,

(05:02):
I love you, daddy and miss you so much.

Speaker 11 (05:04):

We're so happy you're in our world. We're the L
and K Morning Show. It's Coast one O three point five.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
And your happiness hack for life. Let's get happy. And
this one is so easy to do. You don't need anything,
you don't have to buy anything, you.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Don't have to remember anything. It's just you. It's your body,
it's your muscles.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
So if you need to resist an impulse, let's say
you're in Vegas this weekend. Okay, you're walking by the
blackjack or the roulette tabe. What's your thing, Darlene like, okay, Mike,
I won't gamble.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
I just won't.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
For my sister Janet, it's definitely slot machines. I do
like to play them with her. But if you need
to resist an impulse, use your butt. What yeah, squeeze
one or more of your cheeks as hard as you
can for five seconds, and that takes the impulse gene
out of your body and it relaxes so that you
don't feel like you have to rush to the roulette table.

(07:39):
All right, just or you could use any muscle in
your body. Just squeeze one or more muscles as hard
as you can for five seconds. Any muscles, work your hands,
your biceps, your abs, your calves, your buns. The more
muscles your tense, the more mental strength you will have.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
So if you need to resist something, even if it's a.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Dessert, you just go for five seconds squeeze everything.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Can you believe that?

Speaker 3 (08:01):
I guess the.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Release is like the release of that impulse. Oh, I see,
it's so weird. Would our bodies do?

Speaker 3 (08:11):
It's the Morning Show.

Speaker 9 (08:13):
It's a great morning when you get and wake up
to you guys.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
You guys are the fast.

Speaker 10 (08:21):
Today costs one O three point five Top stories Top
of the Hour.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Good morning, I'm Ellen K.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
How you doing today? On your Friday Eve. Well, a
warning from a Yellowstone National Park. There's a guy who
got too close for that perfect selfie and the bison
said not today anyway. One tourist learned the hard way
that nature doesn't do retakes. A Yellowstone National Park authorities
investigating an incident in which a thirty year old New
Jersey man was gored by a bison.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
He's okay, but he was over by old Faithful.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
When he and a large group of visitors reportedly approached
the animal too closely. The guy was treated by emergency
medical personnel at the same at the scene, taken to
an area hospital. So the second time a person's been
injured by a bison in the park this year, which
is way more than usual. And lab grown salmon is here,
and it has FDA approval. It's called wild type salmon,

(09:12):
so it's supposed to taste and look exactly like real salmon.
But it's made in a lab a lot of protein.
It's not cought in the wild or grown on a
fish farm. It's made any former brewery. So you'll be
seeing that on your grocery storeeshelf soon. And Jack Black, congratulations,
he's going to receive King of Comedy Award at the
twenty twenty five Kids Choice Awards just announced this morning.

(09:34):
Those awards are next weekend in Santa Monica at Barker Hangar.
So wait to go, Jack Black and coffee is the
number one beverage we can't live without. A huge study
was done, we have to say, though it was done
by curig So. They they also owned Doctor Pepper, but
they said America's favorite beverage by far is coffee. Almost
seventy percent enjoy the taste more than any other bevy.

(09:57):
And it was on this day in nineteen eighty seven
and President Reagan gave his famous Berlin Wall speech.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
Mister garbach Off, open this gate. Mister Goarbachoff teared down
this wall.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Nineteen eighty seven. And a little nugget for you on
that one. Kurt Smith of Tears for Fears has a
piece of the Berlin.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
Wall in his front yard. Pretty cool. And we do
have this June gloom. It's going to burn off. It's
going to be a really nice day.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Eighty five in the valleys, seventy five almost everywhere else.

paide song of the Day Losing my Religion?

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Are I am? All right?

Speaker 1 (11:50):
The song has nothing to do with your religion, but
the title significant. So if you're losing your religion over
a person, you're just losing faith in that person. Oh
it just became a saying to Arim and you're questioning
the relationships. So losing my religion. They're not like losing
that like religion. It's like I've just lost faith. So
hopefully they gained it back.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
Hey Dad, let's hang out. What a blessing to be
able to do that. I would kill to do that.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
I do it in my dreams to my dad because
he's an angel now. But wow, for Father's Day weekend,
if your dad is still with you, give him lots
of love and attention and tell him what he means
to you. And if you don't get along with your dad,

Speaker 1 (23:36):
A hammerhead shark recently crossed down on a golf course
in South Carolina. Waterspouts can pull fish from the sea
and drop them over land, but the culprit was much
more common. It was an ausprey that had a small
hammerhead shark in its mouth and dropped it right on
the eleventh hole. It's not uncommon to see osprey carrying something,
but take note because it's really cool to see and

(23:57):
this hammerhead shark just landing right there, really close to
a hole in one.

Speaker 4 (24:02):

a big range, and.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
We got this talk back from Felicity.

Speaker 16 (25:29):
Hi, Sarah Dash. So, I've been feeling really forgotten at
home lately. After nine years of marriage. My husband and
I feel more like roommates than romantic partners. He split chores,
raise our kids, keep up appearances, but there's no intimacy
anymore physical or emotional. Every time we bring it up,
he gets really defensive and says we're just in a
different season.

Speaker 12 (25:50):
But I miss being desired.

Speaker 16 (25:51):
I'm starting to wonder.

Speaker 13 (25:52):
If this is all there is?

Speaker 16 (25:54):
Is it time for couple's therapy or time to walk away?

Speaker 4 (25:57):
All right?

Speaker 1 (25:58):
So I know you would listen to this earlier and
you said it makes you sad.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
It does make me sad.

Speaker 12 (26:04):
It makes me sad because because it's so frequent. What
I think that you're looking at is a companionate marriage.
It's about shared task, shared responsibilities, and it's not about
passion or deep connection, deep emotional connection. A companionate What
a companionate marriage? Oh, there's another phase for it. It's

(26:28):
like people describe it as the roommate face.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
Oh, relationships. Does every relationship go through a roommate face?

Speaker 12 (26:35):
I don't think every relationship does, but I think it's
something that we all need to be mindful of, especially
if we in a.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
Long term relationship.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Okay, so then how do you get back to the
share of the good stuff.

Speaker 12 (26:46):
I think that he's probably being a little emotionally avoidant.
If she's bringing up these things and she feels shut down,
Uh huh, then it's really hard to get to a
place of repair. And this relationship does need repair rather
than acceptance.

Speaker 15 (27:03):
Yeah, I know a couple I was having a conversation
the other day. They actually have to schedule their intimacy.
Oh yeah, yeah, is that common? I mean that kind
of surprised me. I'm like, it is like in the calendar.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
Is it in the calendar? It's in the calendar. Yeah.
I know a couple like that too, she said. He
he schedules it.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
Yeah, Thursdays is saturdaysdays.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
I oh morning, they even have mornings.

Speaker 12 (27:26):
If they're both on board with that, I think it
should actually be a good thing because what it shows
is a commitment to having a physical relationship that is
important ideally, you know, spontaneity.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
Yeah, great, but if it.

Speaker 12 (27:41):
Has to be scheduled, it has to be scheduled.
