Speaker 1 (00:00):
One of three point five with the only Kbarding show.
Someone asked me recently, who's your favorite artists who's ever
come in? And I was like, Oh, that's impossible to choose.
That's like asking a parent who has ten kids, who's
your favorite. Yeah, but I.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Heard your parents had six and you tell them that
that's an easy pick.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
But I did say Coldplay is at the very tippy top.
I love Chris Martin. Yeah, I'm Ellen King.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
I'm right man, I'm producing Mike Grandmo's.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
They also love Taylor Swift, Travis Kelcey, Jason Kelcey. The
New Heights podcast In case you missed it, We'll bring
you all the what's what. But she did talk about
her fat tracks, twelve of them. She said it was
really hard to focus and just do twelve. She would
fly to Sweden in between her aras tour dates to

(00:47):
work with Max Martin and Shellback.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
It's exhausting, I would think God and while on tour. Yeah,
and having a new boyfriend incredible, and all those costume changes.
When do you eat?

Speaker 3 (00:59):
When do you She's a machine.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
She really is.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Well.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
She talks about the early days of meeting and being
with Travis.

Speaker 5 (01:10):
This kind of felt more like I was in an
eighties John Hughes movie and he was just like standing
outside of my window with a boombox, just being.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Like, I want to date you.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Do you want to do to day with me? I
made your friendship prices. Do you want to day me
outside and meet me?

Speaker 6 (01:24):
Just meet me?

Speaker 1 (01:24):
What do you think he was embarrassed when she said
that no, because he literally hunted her down.

Speaker 7 (01:31):
He did though, yeah quickly. I mean I don't think
he's embarrassed because he was. He said, you know, I
need to.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Meet her, right and he walked up to Arrowhead Stadium
where she's performing in Kansas City without a ticket and
because he knows all of the security guys because his
locker is in there, let me in. Yeah, I think.
And it was like I have a locker here, but
but that's you know, no one stopped him, so he

(01:56):
kind of owns the town and the stadium in a way.
But he got through and more on that love story
coming up.

Speaker 8 (02:05):
Thank him for being away, Tell them thank you Thursdays
with the Lenne So thanks someone who is made upful.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
And we like to thank Taylor and Travis for their
love Taylor for the new music and also thank you
for having a sign your ride if you're going back
to school day? What's so funny?

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Ry it?

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Thanking Taylor for all the content.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
With the Bangers.

Speaker 9 (02:32):
Come on, Bangers, Let's go cost one three point five
the llen K Morning Show follow ad Official llen K
Coast one of three point five Inside Entertainment with ellen
K Let's Go inside.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Venus Williams is getting a Barbie Dolls part of their
upcoming Women series. Venus had the privilege of choosing which
outfit for her Barbie. She went back to the tennis
dress she wore winning the two thousand and seven Wimbledon title.
One of her greatest moments that your men and women
earned equal prize money for the first time ever at Wimbledon.
That's just so crazy that it took that long.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Right.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Unlike her younger sister Serena, Venus is still competing on
the tennis court. She's earned a wildcard entry at this
year's US Open and that starts next Monday. All right,
dropping today's sixth part documentary The Kingdom, about twenty twenty
four Kansas City Chiefs season as they tried to be
the first NFL team to three feet the Super Bowl.
This is a spoiler alert. Time for another ellen k

(03:29):
Morning shows schooboob boiler alert.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
About what you have to say? What the spoiler is
before like that?

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Oh okay, it's about what's in the king Kingdom. If
you watch it, the spoiler alert. The Chiefs lost to
the Philadelphia Eagles. You know that. But you can watch
all six episodes on Disney Plus and ESPN Plus. Swifties
will be interested in episode three because Taylor will be
in that.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Oh okay, that's.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Your insider spoiler. Okay, that's gonna be fun. All right,
speaking of Swifties. Oh before show Girl versions due October third,
that's when Taylor will give the world her music. She
spent two hours chatting with Jason and Travis Kelsey. We
all watched it in here. I walked away a few
times when she was talking about buying her music back
in some of the technical things. But I loved the

(04:17):
end part, Like the last hour. I thought was the
best hour. And it got the most views ever for
any individual on any social media platform, one hundred and
sixty seven million of us viewing that that's so crazy.
Swifty's Wonderland is just all over it, so many fan
sites popping up. She said she chose orange because she

(04:38):
likes the energy of orange, so everything's going to be
kind of orange themed. Mike, I know that you're the
expert because of your nine year old twins, But is
there anything I'm missing?

Speaker 6 (04:46):
No?

Speaker 3 (04:46):
I think you got it. I mean, I just can't
wait for these anthems. You know, they're going to be
pop anthems, something we can play on the radio and
at the clubs. So I'm excited for that, all right.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
She also has her sour dough bread. We're going to
post that recipe for you. Travis loves it with the
blueberries in it.

Speaker 7 (05:02):
Okay, one more thought that I have because nothing she
does is by accident. Do you think that that she
dropped all of this? She's a you know, because kids
are going back to school today, Like what are they
going to be talking about?

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Yes? Right, She's got great time always with Taylor Talker.
She also talked about Travis. He only uses Instagram to
look at otter videos because he really wants one.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
He wants one specifically whose life he saved, who knows
that he saved. It's a really specific type of otter
he's looking.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
For the videos that I watch are somebody just in
a canoe?

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
He doesn't want to like go up to an otter
and take it from its mother. He wants to see
an otter and the otters like my pause caught Michelle, and.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
He's like, I got you.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
And then the otter's like thank you forever with its
little pause, and then and then it swims up and
then it's and you're kayaking, and it's like doing this
to you, Like that's what he.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Wants and I want it to honestly, Yeah, it's gonna
be really cute.

Speaker 8 (06:07):
I have to say where I get old Bunch, said Wiser,

but it's science and science facts is facts.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Yeah you know what I mean?

Speaker 7 (07:50):
Right, Okay, So this one comes from UC Riverside.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Oh right right here they do.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
A lot of studies. I know, they publish them. They're credible.

Speaker 7 (07:59):
So if you're a relationship maybe a little on the rocks,
there's something you can try.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
It's been proven. They studied a thousand couples.

Speaker 7 (08:05):
They outfitted them with listening devices, recorded their entire conversations
throughout the day. You know, the one thing that helped
couples bond more than anything gossiping.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
No, it's gossip.

Speaker 7 (08:18):
So you sit and you spell the tea with your
with your partner, and it brings you closer together because
it makes you feel like you're on the same team. Right,
It's like and when you do it longer and more
and more, that bond grows deeper and deeper.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Really, so we're supposed to gossip. The couple of the
gossips together stays, Yeah, I feel weird saying it. Yeah,
you know, because gossip.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Is not I mean, look, gossip good, that's right.

Speaker 12 (08:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
And they say that when you gossip good about a person,
it gets you them so fast.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
It's so gossome.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Yeah, with your partner.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
I love that La wakes.

Speaker 6 (08:50):
Up with the L and K Morning Show.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
I am always up with you.

Speaker 6 (08:52):
Coase one three point five Top stories top of the hour.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Good morning, I'm llen k and our top headline this morning,
welcome back students to LAUSD campuses day one, more than
half a million head and back to class. The district
is ready for you, and Superintendent Alberto Carvallo said, schools
are safe, joyful places for every kid. And I promise
this is going to be our best year yet. They
have all kinds of security and safety levels that have

(09:19):
been readied up. Also lowered speed limits, more crossing guards.
It's a good thing. And hey, what about this a
new record? Only fifty four percent of Americans are drinkers,
the lowest in ninety years. It's gone down by about
five percent and from the pandemics come down five twenty
five percent. But in a related story, grocers here in

(09:40):
California are proposing a big change to their stores, aiming
to allow the sale of alcoholic self check kiosks. We're
actually the only state in the nation that bans the
sale of all types of adult bevies at self check lanes.
Didn't realize that it's a whole squabble over another proposed
bill which would block stores from even having self check
kiosks unless those locations meet certain staffing requirements. So the

(10:01):
grocers are pushing back, basically saying, okay, well bite, but
you have to at least let those lanes scan alcohol
and hearing on this is pending but has not yet
been scheduled. And what about this Having friends has gone up.
If you want to save money, to tell all your
closest friends to go kick rocks. There's a new poll
that found that having friends cost an average of two

(10:21):
hundred and fifty dollars a month. That is money spent
on brunches, dinners, bar nights, general hangs. The average for
men is higher than women. For men, it's three hundred dollars,
for women it's two hundred dollars. Almost half of all
of us have skipped a major event with friends because
of the cost, and one in foresay social spending makes
it hard to save any money at all. So if

(10:42):
you need to save, you know where to cut. And
we cool a little bit today, not a ton, heis
and some spots still seeing ninety right now, it is
seventy in Burbank Kost, Los Angeles Coast, one of three
point five persented by Celsius Energy Drinks. Coming up, we're

It's so much fun to play the ellen k Q
and they on my way to school.

Speaker 6 (19:45):
Coast one o three point five.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Top stories Top the Hour. Good morning, em Ellen k
and a couple noteworthy nuggets from our partners at Disneyland.
They just announced the annual Oogie Boogie Bash California Adventure
will kick off this Sunday and run through Halloween. It's
after hours, requires to separate ticket which includes early park admissions,
so you can start at three and then go after hours.
Halloween theme parade, character meet and greets, shorter way times

(20:11):
for attractions, and treat trails to snag some suits. Those
are my favorite. I love those treat trails. Then, starting
next month, Big Thunder Mountain is shutting down for an
extensive refurbishment and then it'll be back at Labor Day.
And the Haunted Mansion is also getting kind of a
little bit of a lift. All going to be so fun. Okay,
what about this? One in five students admit they've used

(20:32):
AI to cheat in ways they consider outright cheating on assignments.
An additional twenty five percent say they operate in a
gray area. But a lot of educators. Educators feel that
teachers aren't prepared to handle AI and classrooms. I don't
know if you're using it in your school, if you're
on your way. But about eighty percent of teachers do
support using AI tools to detect cheating, but not of course,

(20:57):
to cheat. And what about this, For the first time
all season, the Dodgers are not leading the NL West.
They got swept by the Angels in Anaheim. We follow
a full game behind the Padres in the division. Looks
weird to see us in second. But the good news

I love you, guys.

Speaker 6 (21:44):
Coast one oh three point five.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
And doing Leiba celebrating her thirtieth birthday in Ibitha in
an eye popping dress with daring butt cutouts, and that's
the headline, and happy birthday, Dua.

Speaker 7 (21:56):
I don't think you need daring anytime butt cutouts, but
that's daring, okay.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
And before the bell rings, thank you for having us
on in your car. LAUSD and the Superintendent of LAUSD
has a message.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
For all the trust us.

Speaker 11 (22:16):
We're going to inspire greatness every single day. We have
remarkable teachers, remarkable leaders, safe conditions, protective protocols for all kids.
We're going to repeat the fantastic here we had last
year of historically high achievement levels across all grades, all
students in all disciplines.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
This is going to be a fantastic here.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Yes, I love it. You got to say it out loud.
This is going to be a fantastic year. And today
is going to be a wonderful day. Something wonderful is
going to happen to you. They say, if you get
up every morning and say something wonderful is going to
happen to me today, that it really will. Because a
lot of us get up grumpy. I mean, I don't
I bounce out of bed like tigger on my tail.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Yeah you do.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
I know I'm slower than that, but I love the positivity.
Alberto Carvallo. And we also love our therapist. It's therapy Thursday.
She's licensed. She's Sarah Dash. She's here. Welcome, Thank you, Ellen,
very happy to be here. We're so glad to have
you here every Thursday. Sarah, you come in and we
get so many submissions for you. We got this letter

(23:19):
from Gigi because she didn't want to come on the air,
but she wanted your help. Okay. She just wrote to
us that her husband is twenty one years older than
her and is leaving everything to her. They did their
living will, ok and it's three million dollars in property
and cash. Her question is how do we tell his

(23:39):
adult children.

Speaker 12 (23:41):
It's really interesting because what I'm hearing is that he's
he's choosing a relationship over what could be termed like
a biological legacy. Oh and sometimes we see that happening
as a way for a partner. They're honoring the continuity

(24:02):
of the relationship of the lifestyle by leaving a certain
amount of money to the partner who they anticipate being
left behind, and it can be reflective of the life
they've built together. It's I think it's really important that
the adult children not view this as as punitive.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
I'm wondering if it is punitive towards the children. It's
a really good question. It is. Yeah, we don't know.

Speaker 7 (24:31):
It could have been nightmares, these little brats get a penny,
put me through help.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
It could be don't We just don't know. She just
doesn't know how to tell the adult children. You know,
I'm sure that they and look there are three of them.
There could be three different reactions. But you know, I
just wonder. I think it's Bill Gates who said, my
kids get nothing, they're going to make it on their own.
And you know, he's got billions and billions of millions

(25:00):
of dollars, so you know, and in the end, it
is just like what this meant.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
It is Bill Gates's money.

Speaker 12 (25:07):
He's the one who earned it, and it is his
wherewithal to disperse it a sc spit.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
Okay, so what do you call it? Biological way, biological legacy? Okay,
all right, so he's chucked that aside. Yeah, he's leaving
it for his for his wife, for his his partner
and his caregiver. Oh wow, La waves.

Speaker 6 (25:30):
Up with the LANK Morning Show.

Speaker 13 (25:31):
Godday was my day and today is going to be

From your.

Speaker 12 (26:06):

Speaker 1 (26:06):
The life of a show Girl announcement from Taylor Swift
on the Kelsey Brothers podcast New Heights became the most
viewed video ever by an individual on any social media
platform in a single day, over one hundred and sixty
seven million views. It did glitch.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Yeah, it literally broke the internet. Yeah that's you know.
You hear that phrase, but it actually happened.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
It did. But they went on for twenty more minutes.
So that's posted with Spotify. The whole thing is so
they want you to see all of it.

Speaker 3 (26:35):

she started dating Travis. Yeah.

know what the chains were, I didn't know what.

I am thankful for you diving into the football world.

became obsessed with it. I became like a person who
was running through the whole of my house screaming.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
We drafted Savier Worthy and my friends are like, what
is who?

Speaker 5 (27:07):
Body snatched you?

Speaker 13 (27:08):

Okay, when you say fight another day, d is it like,
are you exaggerating or is it really that treacherous?

Speaker 5 (28:29):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (28:29):
With the parents and the kids, it.

Speaker 13 (28:32):
Depends on the birthday of school a little iffy because
the ones that have no kids, that went to work
every day have to realize, oh my gosh, they're back,
so they're not running my stop dying, you know, and
they're learning to put the brakes on as there's a
lot of kids and parents.
