Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jamie Lee Curtis on the line. That's always a happy thing.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Ellen, Kay, guess what I learned? What what the K
stands for? What kind miss? Good morning?

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Good morning? And we do it together.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
You know what. We're a city of angels, yes, and
we love our city of Angels, and we love our
Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
And it's our tenth year of raising money ten years ago, I.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Mean ten years of giving Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Ten years I walked through the emergency room doors ten
years ago for the first time. I have driven by
COCHLA dozens of times, and I always thought, oh, that's
a big hospital. I hear great things about CHLA. And
then I needed them and they were there and they
fixed my son's broken arm in a football accident, and

(00:53):
they were so kind that it was sitting in that
er with other families when I noticed how the families
were treated by the doctors and the staff, and the
way we were treated spending the night with our son's
surgery for his broken arm, and the doctors and the administrator.
It was just Jamie. It was the worst feeling and

(01:15):
the best feeling all at the same time.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
And they've been doing it for one hundred and twenty
five years, Children's Hospital Los Angeles has been a steadfast
beacon of hope and healing in our city of Angels
And there could not be a more important time. As
you know, so much is at stake right now, so

(01:38):
many funds have been cut from federal funding, and this
is the time to really step up for the people
that will step up. Hold your hand, take care of
your child, and do so as you said, with love
and the spirit of giving, the spirit of generosity which

(01:59):
is inhance and in Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Yeah, the sea is for children and caring because they
that's what they do. They just care, care, care, care,
and all the research they're doing. You know, Jamie, I
was in I was in a meeting and this doctor
gets up. He invented the first echo cardiogram for the heart.
Oh wow, flunky and big and you know a big too.
Now they have a device because of all the giving

(02:24):
for CCHLA that they can hold over a little baby
and in five seconds, with the help of AI, they
can determine exactly what they need to do in surgery
to save that baby's life.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Well, and as you know, this Sabon Research Institute at
CHLA is one of the nation's top pediatric research institutions.
And again that level of research and development is what
makes this sort of life saving care for these babies,
for our children. Remember, everybody, anybody listening, if you're driving

(02:59):
to work, if you're at work, if you're at home
and you have a healthy child, like doing their thing.
Remember there are so many families in Los Angeles where
their children are ill, but the families still work, and
you know they have a child in the hospital, one
of the parents can be there. Just imagine in this

(03:21):
day of giving, this day of saying, I have so
much and so many blessings in my life. I have
healthy children, I have a job, and I can give
a small amount a large amount, and I promise you,
I promise you that will make a difference to you
today because giving it is the most beautiful part of us.

(03:46):
If we have anything to give, we can help other
people who don't. And that's the mission of Children's Hospital
Los Angeles, and it is it can obviously continues one
hundred and twenty five five years on and so it goes,
and so it goes.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yes, Yes, and what a year we've had. Look at
the way we started and then we win the World Series,
and let's win the day today on Giving Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Can I tell you one last thing before I but
you can tell you because I love being on the
phone with you.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
I love it to you.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
I recited this so I have a tile that was
found in the house next door and I saved it
and it hangs on the wall of my house. And
I think it's the mission of all of us who
are listening here today. We're all trying to figure out
how to be alive in twenty twenty five. Here's my message.

(04:40):
It says, to live is to learn. To learn is
to know. To know is to grow. To grow is
to give. To give is to live. So today is
Giving Tuesday. So give to Children's Hospital Los Angeles and

(05:02):
it will improve your life today because that is why
we're here. We're here to give. So that's my message.
And no one leads with kindness more than you, and
no one does more for Children's Hospital Los Angeles than
you and your team and the amount of focus you
bring to all of your fans, all of your listeners.

(05:24):
Thank you for everything you do for Children's Hospital Los
Angeles and listeners Giving Tuesday, the day of Giving, please
help us.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Thank you so much, Jamie Lee Curtis. God, you are
an angel in the City of Angels.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Happy holidays, and you too, take good care. God bless
Let's

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
