• Former reality TV star Jessie Holmes is the winner of the 2025 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. Holmes crossed the finish line early Friday morning in Nome in first place with ten dogs after a race that lasted a little over ten and a-half days.  Holmes was a regular on the reality show "Life Before Zero," which follows subsistence hunters in the Last Frontier

ST PATRICK'S DAY IN CORPUS CHRISTI
Saint Patrick's Day celebrating Irish culture and commemorates the patron saint of Ireland.  Traditionally, Christians who were fasting for 40 days during the period of Lent had their eating and drinking restrictions lifted on Saint Patrick's Day, allowing for feasts and for alcohol consumption.  The National Retail Federation says they expect over 60 percent of Americans to celebrate the holiday, spending a total of about seven-billion dollars in the process.

Local Native American advocate Larry Running Turtle Salazar, passed away early Sunday morning. He was 68. His mother was Cherokee and his father, Apache. Running Turtle advocated for many issues, appeared in documentaries, and wrote two books. Our condolences to his family.
