Pleasure to welcome Jeremy Beck to theprogram. Jeremy is vice president of Initiatives

(00:06):
that Numbers USA. Jeremy, goodmorning, Good morning. We learned something
every day. I did not realizeup until yesterday or maybe the day before
that if the House votes to impeachsomeone, that the Senate has to decide
whether they're going to have a trialor not. And apparently they're having a
big fight in the Senate over it, right, Yeah, that's right.

(00:29):
It's not clear at all whether ornot the Chuck Schumer and the Democrats and
the Senate will allow the trial toproceed or if they'll dismiss it out of
hand. I thought that was justautomatic. I thought that's what the Constitution
called for. But again, Ilearned something every day, Jeremy. Let's
talk a little bit about these numbersand what we've seen lately that seems inexplicable

(00:51):
to me is tens of thousands ofyoung primarily young men, coming across the
border from specific countries that we didn'tsee that many of before, China,
for example. What do you whatdo you think is going on? The
message has gotten out around the worldthat if you make it to the southern
border. You have a very verygood chance of being released into the United

(01:14):
States, even if you have noadmissible grounds to be released. That's that's
the issue with majorcas and the DHSunder his watch is that they are They're
releasing a million people into the countryevery year. And that's in addition to
another six hundred thousand or so peoplewho are getting across the border without being
detected as well. So it's notjust from Central America, it's not just

(01:37):
from Mexico. People are coming fromall over the world. And they're not
discriminating in the in the way thatthey are releasing people into the United States.
And there are two big issues withthis, and this this relates to
the impeachment. One is that thelaw states very clearly that people who who
submit for asylum shall be detained. And that's what a big part of this

(01:57):
problem is the asylum abuses. Peopleare coming in. They're saying the claim
a credible fear. This administration issaying, we believe you, We're going
to release you into the United States. The law says they have to be
detained. They're not being detained. That's one. The second problem is is
that parole humanitarian parole is supposed totake place on a case by case basis.
Let's say that somebody comes in ona visitor's visa, for instance,

(02:19):
and they're supposed to go home, but they need some sort of emergency app
and decamy or something like that. Then you get to humanitarian parole one person,
case by case basis. MAJORCIS andDHS under this administration is granting parole
to broad groups of people at atime, almost entire countries at a time.
And so those are two major issuesthat are involved in the articles of

(02:42):
impeachment, and we hope that atrial will at least shed some public attention
on the causes of this border crisisthat have been ongoing for the past three
years. What do you know about, Jim and I were talking about those
few minutes ago, Jeremy, whatdo you know about the government automatically issuing
social Security card of social security numbersto these people coming over? I'm my
understanding is that unless you need onebecause you're going to be employed here,

(03:07):
you probably don't need one. Thewell, it came up in it came
up in the hearing that the grillingof Alexandromorcus specifically by Marjorie Taylor Green yesterday.
Well, I didn't see that clipfrom the hearing. I do know
that there's been a big push insidethe administration, inside DHS to grant the

(03:28):
people who are being released again, these are inadmissible aliens being released into the
country. There's a big push togive them work permits. And part of
that's because the cities that they're goingto are complaining, Hey, we've got
these people showing up and they don'thave any way to feed themselves, so
we're having to spend all this moneyto feed them and house them and all
that. So they want to givethem work permits so they can compete with
American workers and take American jobs. And of course, once you do that,

(03:53):
you're basically you're into the system whereit makes it even harder to remove
people, and of course it createsan undue burden on American workers, many
of whom have not seen real wageincreases since the nineteen seventy right this is
the argument that the left has made, and that is that all of these
illegals who are working here are payinginto the Social Security system. They are

(04:14):
also paying into the Medicare system. So if that is the case, they
must have a number. All right, thirteen billion to fifteen billion a year
getting paid into the trust fund endedin the Medicare fund by illegals. And
if that's the case, they havea number. So how do they get
the number? Well, there's alsoiti in, which is an individual tax

(04:34):
identification number, which is really analternative to a Social Security number. It's
basically used by illegal aliens. Andof course there's also a lot of Social
Security fraud and social Security theft,so illegal workers often pay into Social Security
using somebody else's card. That ofcourse causes immense hardship to the person who
is a victim of that theft. But the Social Security administration doesn't care if

(04:59):
that card is still or not. They just want to collect the money.
How concerned are you, Jeremy, about illegal folks who are here illegally figuring
out a way to scan the systemso they can vote. Now, social
security number wouldn't do that. Supposedly, you have to prove that you are
here and a citizen of this country. How concerned are you about the voting
pieces? Not my area of expertise, but I'll say this that the more

(05:25):
people you have who are in thecountry illegally. The harder it is to
defend against any kind of fraud, whether that's social security fraud, work fraud,
driver's license fraud, or voting fraud. There are systems in place.
Let's talk about I mean use terrorismfor example, The risk of somebody coming
across the border who's a part ofa terrorist group and wants to do harm
to the country are on a caseby case basis, extremely small. But

(05:48):
when you have huge, record levelnumbers of people, the increase of something
happening in the United States increases withthe increase of people. Same thing with
any kind of fraud. The largerthe population, the harder it's going to
be to defend against additional crimes.Indeed, Jeremy, thanks, We always
appreciate the time you got. JeremyBeck, vice president of Initiatives for Numbers
