Anthony Russo back with US political analystand host of the Truth Will Set You
Free podcast on a voting block whichis a notorious for not turning out in
large numbers. And now we're told, and this is gen Z and now
we're told they're very disillusioned this timearound. Anthony, Good morning, boording,
how you doing. Good, Goodto have you on. So these

(00:21):
are kids born night what ninety sevenand later, and some of them are
eligible to vote, and so they'rethinking, according to the interviews and the
surveys, that they don't like anythingthat's going on. So are they going
to vote? That's the question. The question is it's a good question.
I'm going to say, it's stillgoing to be a difficult voting block to

(00:44):
get to the polls. They don'thave the motivation right now, based on
the conservative and Republican side to say, you know what, I'm going to
make change. I'm going to goahead and realize that I'm a conservative at
a younger age. And you know, typically generations make the switch. You've
got to eighty year old white guysrunning for the presidency. And Trump,

(01:06):
unfortunately, although he would resonate incrediblywell with that, with that group,
that age group, that demographic, that group that wants to have more freedoms.
It wants to be able to saywhat they want to say and utilize
the First Amendment. The problem ishe doesn't get a fair shake in the
media. We know this. We'vetalked about this for ages and eons and
the ants, because you know what, old can also be cool. The

(01:26):
problem is they paint him as avillain, whereas anybody with the brain and
I do think gen Z is incrediblyin tuned with what is happening with our
current administration, what is happening withJoe Biden, and the fact that this
is this is a bad look. This is a bad look geopolitically, our
economy is getting to the point whereI can't they can't afford a house,
they can't there's nothing that they cando that the previous generations could. So

(01:49):
the question is willing to be activatedenough in order to go vote? And
I think it's very difficult when you'vegot ninety percent of the media against everything
and anything that is Donald Trump inthe right, and you wonder how likely
they are Anthony to consume any conservativemedia or even neutral media. Well,
yeah, I mean, and theiralgorithms, because it's really not even about

(02:09):
mainstream media with that, with thatgroup, it's about the TikTok, and
it's about the Instagram and their algorithms. We're not playing a fair game on
that, so their algorithms are goingto point in a different direction. And
it's still you're never going to giveYou're never going to give somebody like a
Donald Trump Trump a fair shake inthat demographic. One of the things they're

(02:30):
upset about, apparently is this burgeoningmove and I think it's going to happen
to get rid of TikTok, orat least for us, a TikTok sale.
Do any of these Do any ofthese kids and I've I've got a
couple of kids in the in theprevious general their jen why And one of
them, the youngest one, justthinks it's ridiculous this idea that the TikTok

(02:53):
would go away, and is becauseshe likes it. Well, do any
of them ever stop and think about, well, the reason why it will
be forced to go away? Theydo? You know, it's been brought
up. It's a dangerous security.But they're not to be honest, they're
not dumb, and they're realizing thatour security from a tech perspective has been

(03:17):
bought and sold to China for farlonger than just TikTok. And I understand
that it can be deemed dangerous, but at the end of the day,
you know, we've had a lotof discussions on our shows regarding that,
and honestly, it's it's a dangerousmove to think that we need we can
ban TikTok in terms of First Amendmentrights, and I think that that's one

(03:38):
thing that they're holding on to andthey see that, they're like, wait
a second, but right is allbig on. Hey, we got to
keep your we got to keep yourability to speak, And all of a
sudden, now they're trying to takeaway a platform, and I think it
can be deemed very very confusing andset a precedent that's dangerous. And I
think that they're that age group thatgen z is sniffing that out. So

(03:58):
you and I have a little differentview of this. You have the think
the TikTok is only one example. It looks to me like they have one
hundred million monitors in our country, the Chinese Communist Party via TikTok. Do
you think that, Yeah, they'rejust a tip of the iceberg. That's
just to be the iceberg. We'vebeen having Apple phones, iPhones that have
chips in it that can be Imean, I don't trust anything that we

(04:19):
use from a tech perspective when mostof the products are made in Taiwan or
China. Taiwan obviously we have abetter relationship effect is they funnel through China.
I don't trust anything we do interms of that that that free those
for the ability to be separated fromChina in a sense. So I don't.

(04:40):
I think TikTok is a smoke screento take away some of our typical
American rights. I felt differently acouple of year ago, a year and
a half ago, we had thisconversation. Now I cannot, I cannot
stand behind a TikTok ban. Itdoesn't make sense based on where we are.
Interesting. Interesting, Well, I'mstill I'm still in that camp.

(05:00):
Hey, the story has yet tobe told. Appreciate your time, Anthony,
