Speaker 1 (00:00):
I mentioned it in passing yesterday and uh and a
lot of a lot of conservative media covered it that
the Media Research Council crunched the numbers and they looked
at ABC News, but they looked at all the networks,
I think, but ABC News, which is hosting the debate tonight,
and they looked at the compared their coverage of Kamala

(00:22):
Harris to their coverage of Donald Trump, and it's it's
jaw droppingly disparate in favor of Kamala Harrison. We're joined
for a few minutes this morning by Curtis Howk, who's
a managing editor of MRC NewsBusters.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Curtis, good morning, Hey, good morning guys.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Were you even surprised even you at i mean one
hundred percent favorable for Kamala Harris ninety three percent negative
for Donald Trump?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Well, the Trump number, no, because that's about what we've
been seeing ever since we started doing these numbers five six,
seven years ago, high eighty's, low nineties, sometimes mid nineties.
But for Kamala Harris to hell one hundred percent, this
is truly remarkable stuff. You know, it's important to just
say as well, at the onset, how we do these studies.

(01:11):
What we do is we look at the network evening
newscasto for ABC, this is ABC World News Tonight. And
what we do when we look at our politics segments
is we strip out statements from I don't know, Gavin
Newsom praising Kamala Harris or Matt Gates or you know,
Lindsey Graham praising Donald Trump. We take those out and

(01:33):
we truly look only at what the journalists themselves are saying,
what the anchor is saying, what their supposedly objective analysts
are saying. And that's what we judge. And we look
at each you know, remark in great at positive, negative, neutral,
And we found with Kamala Harris, the twenty five evaluative

(01:53):
statements that we found about the state of the race
were positive and then sixty six negative statements about Trump
and only seven percent or seven were positive.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
We know that David Muir, one of the moderators tonight,
is the main anchor of the ABC World News Tonight.
Do you know Curtis is he also the managing editor?
In other words, does he does he pick the content?

Speaker 2 (02:17):
As far as I know, I'm not predicting, I would
bet yes, I know Nora is that's something that CBS
really loves to tout that their anchor is always the
managing editor as well. The other two kind of they
don't really puff their chests that much. The one thing
I would say about the stories though, that below the
numbers that was particularly disturbing for US was CBS and NBC,

(02:41):
to their credit, while they were both ninety four percent
positive for Kamwaw on CBS and seventy one percent positive
on NBC, they in their interviews with voters, they found
voters who were supportive of President Trump or at least
had critical things to say about Kamala Harris. ABC didn't
find a single voter their sound bites that they ran

(03:01):
on World News tonight that was critical or opposing Kamala Harrison.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Well, you know, you know what's interesting too, is that, uh,
if you, if you, if you point out these these
numbers in the disparity to TDS victims, they'll say, well, yeah,
that's the way it should be, that's the way it
should be.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
He deserves it exactly right now.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
I'm not kidding they do that.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
They just just watch ABC News and that's all you
need to know. They think Chris Christie is balanced. That's
that's the ridiculous. George Stephanopolis is a Clinton EASTA Martha Raddis.
Jonathan Carl wrote a book about Donald Trump's presidency. Yeah,
three of one of them. The big one was front
wrote The Trump Show, which was nothing but a lampooning
of his entire presidency. That whole is a collect what.

(03:48):
The president of ABC News is a close personal friend
of or is in law of, Kamala Harris.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
She induced her to her husband, she introduced and she's
the Disney Zach who oversees ABC News. So just connected.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Dana Walden is her name, Yes, senior executive with ABC
News under their purview. And now what I try to say,
at least this is my take on all these kind
of things, is they're not getting I wouldn't say they're
getting direct pressure because I don't think liberals are that
stupid sometimes about their bias, because everyone already thinks the
same anyway. But I wouldn't be surprised if you're a

(04:25):
correspondent and you want to get ahead, and this is
a pretty knives out industry, wouldn't you want to do
a lot of correspondents who don't have any shame try
to do some of these stories to suck up to
their boss. Sure you know, Dana Walden has been friends
with Kamala for decades and even when she got married
to Doug m Hoff, she thanked Dana Walden and her husband.

(04:48):
That's how incestuous this relationship is.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
If you don't think that the questions that David Muir,
because they've been vetted by the other producers, have not
been forwarded the Harris camp pain, then this world is
nothing but rainbows and lollipops to you. If you don't
think that that the corruption and the integrity of this
has not occurred, it's because you just don't want to.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
I don't know that, ROSI. We don't know that. You
don't want to. Got to be fair, you don't know.
Do not know that they have a history of doing this.
They have a history a history.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Works for ABC News Connect the Dots.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Thanks for the time.
