Speaker 1 (00:00):
Fox News Radios. Evan Brown joins us for a bet
this morning from Florida. They would be Trump assassin back
in court today, Evan, Good Morning's what's the procedure today?
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Good morning? No, not today. He was in the court yesterday. Yeah,
so he was in West Palm Beach where the man
who is in custody was brought into court. He's been
held ever since last a week ago Sunday, and prosecutors
had a chance to tell the judge, Look, we've got
a lot of evidence so far. Our investigation is far
(00:32):
from over, but there's a lot of stuff here already
that we have found that indicates he very much tried
to assassinate former President Trump, and that while we have
him currently held on weapons charges, we planned to seek
an indictment under federal statute of attempted assassination, which it
would be life in prison, and so we don't think
(00:53):
he should get a chance to bail out of jail here.
And so the judge agreed with that. Some of the
evidence that was found is pretty damning. One is a
note that I won't get into the text of, only
to say that it confirms that he had planned to
assassinate former President Trump, and that he asks if anyone
(01:13):
wants to sort of pick up the ball there, that
he would have very large cash reward for them. He
was found with six cell phones, one of which he
had used to try to get driving directions from West
Palm Beach to Mexico. And then there was a jail
phone call that he made within the past week that
admits to in that conversation, he admits to what he's
(01:38):
being accused of doing. So with that, the judge said, yeah,
we're not going to let this guy out, and the investigators,
the prosecutors, the Department of Justice will pursue a grad
jury indictment in the near future to indict on charges
of attempted assassination. And at the same time, the state
of Florida is still investigating as well. They they will
(02:01):
very likely pursue a charge of attempted murder under state statutes. Also,
I think something that could want you in prison for
the rest of your life.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Did he have representation there and if so, what what
would be the defense?
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Well, he has he has no money, so he was
granted a federal public defender, So you know, and so far,
no one has really talked to the media about what
their defense would be. It's going to be hard to
defend this, but you know it's the job of a
lawyer to do that. So I'm sure they'll come up
with something if it's only to simply just protect his rights,
as you know, under the as an accused person.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
I'm waiting for the Oh, he was just beginning to
turn his life around defense. That's that's always a popular.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
One, often doesn't work, but you got.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
It, Evan Brown, Fox News Radio there in South Florida.
So yeah, he ain't going anywhere for we assume forever.
I'd be an, but they've got to be You're right,
they've got to be investigating back to who's who's behind
this dude. Somebody's he doesn't do this by himself. Now
(03:09):
he may have, he may have wandered around that area
for a day or two by himself, but as far
as the background and setting him up like this weapon,
for example, right where.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Do you get the weapon?
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:21):
I know he was mooching off his fiance for a
long time, but this guy was flying back and forth
across the world numerous times. So if he flies across
the world, who pays for the plane ticket? Who pays
for his ground transportation, who pays for lodging, who's been
bankrolled in this guy? And he was going online a
(03:42):
long time ago talking about Trump. I just believe there's
some some sort of foreign influence in this. Do you
talk about Iran somebody somebody could say, look, I'll give
you two hundred and fifty thousand dollars if you kill
the president.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
I mean that way.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
There's no Iranian national in the country doing it. It's
harder to find him. But somebody got to him and said,
here's money to do this right, and we need to
know who that is. And this secret service in our
country has been woefully inadequate at providing answers to some
questions that should have been answered a long time ago,
(04:18):
like Butler, like why was that golf course not swept before.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Trump took I got the first complacent. I mean, this
is just this is unexcitted, which is unbelievable. After Butler,
it is bad enough anyway.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Less than two months later, and Josh Holly is talking
about this senator from Missouri and he's been getting phone
calls from whistleblowers and he goes, yeah, everything you're saying
is true. Well, let's get to the bottom of this.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Huh, yeah, he's uh, he's never going to see the
light of day again. But can we get can we
get to the background of of what set him up
in the weeks and months ahead of that attempt on
in the West Palm
