Speaker 1 (00:00):
Our official Oscar fan, Richie and Papillion on news radio
eleven ten KFA be Richie, good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Good morning. Guys, were doing great.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
You had a very happy weekend the Huskers and the
Giants one.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
It's really nice sometimes good week So.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
How does rich how does how does the official Husker
fan navigate an open date?
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Well, I gotta do the lawn tomorrow and I want
to watch Texas Oklahoma. I want to watch Washington beat
Iowa and maybe Oregon Ohio State. You think football game?
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Do you think Washington? You think Washington'll beat Iowa?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
I hope.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
So okay, let's go back. What do you are you
going to watch Colorado and k State? Richie?
Speaker 2 (00:45):
I didn't realize that point. Yes, put that on too
when I got a couple of TV. Yeah, a lot
of games for Colorado.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Right, uh so let's go back. What do you how
do you evaluate the first half of the season.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Well, I think, you know, first of all, we've match
down wins already, so that's good with five. I think
the offense at times is very exciting, especially with many
mahomes and the wide receivers and the you know, the
offensive line. It's going to continue revolving get better. We
certainly have a top ten d with playmakers all over
the field. I love number ninety's unbelievable top I think
(01:22):
we're top fifteen in turnovers in the country. We're like
plus six, so that's a big improvement. Our team is
always ready and prepared always. The stadium energy is just
different now there is you know, the second half offense
seems to for some reason, I don't know. It's almost
like we take the foot off the pedal. I don't know.
Special teams is an issue. I wish we would have
(01:44):
seen some field goals last week. Got to finish the
game once in a while. The Illinois game and the
officiating in the Big Ten is just a joke.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
It is.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
It's just unbelievable how these guys actually get paid. They're
just incompetent and there's no other word for it. It
seems to always tilt against us, at least in my opinion.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Yeah, I don't know that i'd say that, but I
hate it. Well, but I've seen I've seen calls that
went in our favor that were BS two, you know,
So to me, it's to me, it's about the quality.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Well, the quality is bad. But that game, there was
a couple of calls that was just there was one
in the end zone that we were clearly passing the
verity again that wasn't called. I mean, it's just the
calls that go against us, the game changing calls, that's
the problem.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Yeah, no, that's that's bad, and especially I hate it
when it and it has a direct impact on the outcome.
I mean, there's one thing, come on that was that
was non necessary. You didn't need to. But then when
you've got a critical one that actually affects the final
score of the game, that's a problem. And it happens
way too often.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Well it seems to happen against us all the time.
But that's okay. You know, we're five and one. We're
run away from ball eligibility and that's another big positive.
So things are good. Things are good. Hopefully we're ranked
after this week. If not, you know, next week's going
to be a rough one. But again, Indiana, right really.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. If we have another Saturday.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
They played basketball, don't they. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
If we have another Saturday night massacre this week, nebrask
will probably be up in the top twenty five. Man
that happens, then they're richie. Indiana's six and oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
You know, so what there's you know, a lot of
teams go four and oh five and them six and
I don't care. Goodness six and oh that's better for
us when we beat them. Yeah, there'll be six and
one then, and so will we.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Their wins over Maryland Northwestern they don't impress you.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
No, there's Maryland and Northwest again Maryland basketball right, Northwestern
they don't even have a stadium, so that is that true.
I don't know why.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
They're using a different one this year.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yeah, they're using a different one. That's real good.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Well, now they got it. They look, they had the
worst stadium in the country to begin with, and so
they're renovating now they.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Don't have any stadiums.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
That's like a great what do you want them to do? Play?
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Well, they're Look, I don't care about northwester because, as
you say, when all these conferences get together, they're gonna
be one of them. That's out. They're not even gonna
be inscribe.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yeah, that's right, that's right, that's probably right. What do
you think of that? The two big the two biggies
meet and Loville.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
I love it. I love it. Get rid of the
NC double A. Let's just make I don't know, seventy
eighty teams and sixteen playoffs and let's go and let's
I love it. I had no issues with it. None.
You want to pitch you NFL style? Yeah, I don't care.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
You want to pitch in with me and buy the twins.
Twins are for sale, you know.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
I like to buy the Oakland Age. That's what I'd
really need to do. But yeah, if you want to.
You know, look, Rody's got more money than anybody I know. Why.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Well, yeah, he's away for the day. I'll ask him
when he gets Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Well, I'm not even saying nothing to I don't even
say nothing anymore. You know, it's expected now one.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Of us is gone, right, Okay, Reggie, thanks, we'll talk
to you next week ahead of Indiana. That's our official
Husker fan Reggie and Papilion
