Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcoming Tim Graham of the program. Tim is with the
Media Research Center and NewsBusters on what Tim I would
say are the cascading crises at CBS news. Good morning,
Good to have you on, Thank you, good morning. Well,
they had a dumpster fire of a week, didn't they.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yeah, and you thought it would start out okay because
sixty minutes was the only one of Kamala's interviews that
seemed a little tough, and then we discovered, oh, they're
actually shuffling around sound bites depending on which one she
sounds less ridiculous in.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Have we confirmed. What we do know is that they
they broadcast different answers to the same question. But there
is also an allegation that they actually cut in the
answer to a different question into the promo. Do we
know that that's true.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
We don't, because they refuse to release the actual transcript
or just the actual recording the way the interview went,
you know, the interviewer for I think forty five minutes,
they played half that and slice and dice, and so yeah,
what we saw on Sunday's face the nation was one
clip where it was a little bit of the typical
word salad. Then when you got to the same question

(01:16):
on the sixty Minutes broadcast on Monday. It was a
special there we had a different answer, a more coach
and answer. It's possible that both of them are the answer,
but you know, the same answer. But they're not really
fighting back on this. They're just trying to make it
go away, which shouldn't work.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Right. Puck News calls it a fast metastasizing five alarm show.
And that's from the CBS Morning News interview. Right they
had this violent Andie Israeli on there and the reporter
actually asked him some tough questions and it was good
and then and so then the CBS suits didn't like that.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Right, Well, there was a lot of reporters inside the network,
and I'm going to guess there's a lot of under
thirty under thirty five people who got really mad that
Tony di Cooppel, the morning co host, was quote unquote editorializing, well,
Excubius editorializes all the time. The problem was he was

(02:20):
sort of hammering the left winger because this Tanahazy coach,
he's like he went to Gaza and he decided it
was just like the Jim Crows. How you know, it
was just like apartheid South Africa, and so he's basically
siding with the Palestinians because they're the equivalent of the
black people. Well, Tony Dicoppel has two kids in Israel

(02:43):
and so he is a little bit more biased in
a way that would say, excuse me, they are not
the same thing. And it got worse because Tana Hazy
coach granted an interview with a podcast and started talking
about how, you know, he could imagine that if he
had grown up like the Palestinians did, he could see
himself being part of October seventh.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Yeah, I was listening to We've got a Sunday evening
show here and the guys were at seven pm and
it's really good, and the guys were talking about how
this used to be the kind of interviews we saw
all the time, the kinds of discussions we saw in

(03:26):
this country all the time, where you'd get where you'd
get an actual discussion, including some challenging questions, and then
you'd hear the answer and you could actually listen and
make your own mind up. But now this is not acceptable.
That's what's scary about this, tim.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Yeah, I mean they're basically saying that as long as
you're on the so called right side of history, you
should get no challenging questions. And frankly, I mean, most
of these networks if they have political guests on, and
there's not a whole lot of that on these borning
shows these days. They're not as news oriented as they
used to be, you know, but when they bring them on,

(04:05):
they're usually very soft with them. You know, if they're
going to bring on Hillary Clinton, she's not going to
get any challenging questions. They're going to celebrate her. So
and that's sort of what they were upset about, was like,
what you're supposed to celebrate this guy, You're not supposed
to challenge him. And yeah, there's such a thing as
challenging questions that are fair. And then there are you

(04:26):
know what the other time we're used to whereas you
bring on Trump or fans and you try to hit
them up side the head and shoulders.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Yeah, well, the couple was respectful to this guest about
his about his scholarship and what he's done before, but
he challenged him on his attitude about Israel, and it
was a really good exchange. And then here comes this memo.
I understand t him part of the memo to all
CBS News employees was to never refer to anty area

(04:54):
of Jerusalem as part of Israel. You got to be
kidding me.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
That's like never referred to to Chicago as part of
the United States.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Right, brutal. So what do you think? What is the
upshot here? Do people really care? Do they pay attention?
I mean, Jem and I talk all the time about
these Sunday morning news shows and how and how, with
the exception of Fox, the Alphabet Networks anchor hosts are

(05:23):
all lefties, all of them, all three of them, and
the producers.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
The producers are all lefties. The content creators are all lefties.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah, and whenever they have a panel, you know, to
discuss the week's events, that's a stilted panel. I'd be
lucky if you have one actual conservative.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Well, they put Chris Christie up there as a representative
publican party who's one of the avowed Trump haters of
our time, and then they triple and the double and
triple team Ryan's previous every time he gets up there,
and Rights actually rose up against it last week and said,
you know, I'm sick and tired this You guys makeup stuff,
and old Donna Brazil goes into one of her homilies

(06:05):
and we're just sick of it. Okay, And you know what,
you're just wrong.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
The American people are hurting and you can say they aren't,
but they are because you guys are in this cocoon
of DC and I'm not. I'm from Wisconsin and I
see it. People can't afford to send their kids to college.
They can't afford a healthcare crisis, they can't afford groceries
or gas, they can't afford homeowners insurance, and it's their
fault because they've been in charge.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Well, all you need to do, all you need to
do with any one of these hosts to see how
they question a conservative compared to how they questioned a
a Democrat.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
It all came crystal It just came crystal clear yesterday
when Martha right It said it's okay, if a few
apartment complexes in this country, you are over run by
Venezuelan gangs. But remember it's just a few, and compared
to having Donald Trump as president, well it's just nothing.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Heaven. Hey, Tim, thanks for the time this morning. Appreciate you.
