Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, if it's about a quarter after seven, and
if it's a Friday, and if it's football season, that
means we're gonna check in with our official Husker fan,
Richie and Papillion. Tough week, Ritchie, tough.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Week, unbelievable. You know, I I gotta take my host
back home, Vine and Susanna for putting up with me
for that weekend, because that was not good.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
That couldn't have been easy.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
No, let me tell you something about West Point. Anybody
can go out there and do it.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Well, not just back up for a second, back up
for a second. For those who don't know, Richie, Ritchie
was away last weekend. You took on the Army game
at West Point and then and then your giants were
at home right the next time.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
It's just incredible. Another thing, Rosie, I like my band.
How hard is this to God? And I? Whatever they do,
nobody cares about that. I like my band. Okay, well good,
let's talk about our band. And you went out. We
got about Ohio sate. No one cans I hear it?

Speaker 3 (00:56):
All right, it's a it's a it's the best marching
band in the country. It just they do stuff that
nobody else does I liked, Well, you got to see
the marching cadets. You went to an army game, and
I kind of echo Richie's I've had the chance one
time in my life to see a game in the
fall at Mikey Stadium.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Send me a picture it is.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
It is the most remarkable bucolic pastoral setting for a
college football game that you're ever going to see. Now,
it doesn't have the energy that you're going to get
in the SEC and an LSU game, but it's it's
pure college football the way it was meant to be.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
And they're pretty good this year.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Yeah, you don't have laser light shows and fireworks going
off and big screens and all that jazz. Which you
get is a very pure and very simple, very authentic
college football experience. Two teams on the field that aren't
getting an IL money and they're not going to be
in the NFL. They're doing it for the fun of it.
And the atmosphere and the environment is spectacular, tremendous.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
You got you got to see it to believe it.
By the way, let's go dodge all right. You know
about the Yankee World Series game for ten bucks in
nineteen seventy seven, just to put that in discreptive, you.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Know, and you know you're gonna need a lot more
than that to get at the Yankee stadium.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah, game period.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
No, I'm an American League guy, so I'm going Yankees.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
But okay, you not me. I don't know for the Yankees.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
You hate him, Okay, visit about Ohio State. What's going
to happen tomorrow?

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Well, you know, it's still an opportunity for us, and
you know we just look you guys, tell me what
happened is I was trying to watch it on the
phone at the stadium, an army, and it just kept
getting worse and worse and worse. And I've seen some
highlights and stuff. You gotta flush this.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
It was an absolute, absolute, total and utter beat down
in every phase of the game. That's all there is
to say.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
You know, Okay, so let's flush it. Let it's an
opportunity for us to think. So, you know, this Saturfield,
I don't know if you saw is the press company. Yeah,
it's got as you know, what's talking about half the time,
and it's just this is why our offense is no good.
This is the guy leading this offense so you know,
let's run the football a little bit by to shorten
the game. We gotta get a bounce back from our quarterback.

(03:04):
Play some smart football, and you know, let's get a pass.
Let's have that Colorado intensity. Let's just go out there
and play. I mean, this isn't the greatest football team
in the world at Ohio State. Let's go out there
and play this game and see what happens. I mean, everybody,
even like even our own media, while we're gonna get killed.
You can't do that kind of stuff. Everyone's talking about,

(03:26):
Oh we have no chance. You can't do that. These
are college kids. Go out there and support them. I can't.
Even Sean was saying, well, you know, let's see how
bad the think down it's gonna be. You can't do
this kind of stuff. I mean, there was a Super Bowl,
super Bowl forty two, the greatest paying Tom Brady ever had.
We saw what happened there. Go out there and play
the game and see what happens, and knock their quarterback

(03:47):
down a couple of times, get a turnover. Let's kick
a field goal once. You know, that's another thing. I
don't understand why I gotta kick field goals I just
don't get it. It's just let's go out there and
compete tomorrow. Let's do that.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Well.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
I said this on Monday because I believe this is
where college football is. I think you have some elite
teams in each conference, and you have a couple of
real doormats, but then you've got a whole gigantic middle
made up of teams that can win on any given Saturday.
And I think Nebraska is in. I think Nebraska will
give them a four quarter game tomorrow. I don't know
that they're going to win it because Ohio State has
a lot of advantages, but I think this is going

(04:20):
to be a much closer game than people think it's
going to be, just because of the nature of the game. Yeah,
we got players, they got players, We got enough material
to win this game tomorrow. Will it happen? I don't know.
They're going to have to execute at a level we
haven't seen.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I look at Colorado.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Colorado is a dog food football team that we should
have played as well as we did against them, but
we had trouble if you remember in the second half offensively.
I would just tell you I think this is going
to be a fourth quarter game. I could be wrong.
They may come in and blow Nebraska out. I don't
think so, because I think this program's got a little
more pride and I think we got better athletes. But
i'd like to see, you know, something like us.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
I think the main problem why we have issues in
the second half is this offensive coordinated I don't even
know what he's doing. And there's two coordinator, which is
another thing. I don't understand. This guy's not going to
be here next year. We know this already.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
That's my Richie.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Right, good co He doesn't know how to just didn't
do anything.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
You look at the bright side, Ritchie. He was talking about,
look at the bright side of Ritchie. The completion of
your ruined weekend won't happen till Monday night. The Giantstone
play it on Monday night.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
So I want to tell you Pittsburgh, you know I'm
already thinking about the draft.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Ready, all right, my friends, have a great weekend. That's
our official Oscar fan. Every Friday, Richie in the Phillion,
it's seven twenty three, we go to Sportspray Rose. He
never he never in
