Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is a pleasure to welcome Troy Curse to the
program with Defend Solutions, which is an advanced counter drone operation.
Mister Curse, good morning, sir. Good to have you on.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Hey, good morning, how are you well?
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Thank you. The country seems to be obsessed with this
rash of drone sightings over primarily the northeast New Jersey,
New York area. Uh, do you have working in the
industry as you do a pretty good handle on what
is going on here? What these are?
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Yeah? So, so what it is is that I can't
I can't see everything, but there are some things that
they are flying the drones legally, right before you even
fly a drone, before you buy a drone, you have
to get to drones registered, right, So so you best
believe like the FAA, FAA, FCC, FBI and those guys
(00:54):
you know, can see what kind of drones are flying, right,
and those drones are registered so egally capable to fly
those drones during the day and also at night there
as well.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Well, that's what I always heard. So what is the problem?
Why Why is everybody up in arms over them?
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Now? You're seeing more and more of them lately, and
and and then the fact that and then also to
the fact that because of what we've seen overseas, over
in Israel, over in the Ukraine, where some drones can
be dangerous right as far as like dropping bombs and
things of that. So with all this terrorists out here,
you don't know if you think little Billy is flying
(01:35):
his drone, but could there be something on that drone
that can drop liquid, fretanol or some type of devices
or whatever it may be. So I guess it's just
the fear of people seeing these drones flying. And then
also they they're just been flying at night the last
few weeks, so you know, I can see the American
(01:56):
people just getting a little frantic about like, wow, why
are the throwers are flying at night?
Speaker 1 (02:01):
You have Little Billy got got radicalized online. I mean, yeah,
that's could be a problem. Let me ask you this, Troy.
Is it when you say they have to be registered,
does that mean that the government or whatever governing body
can identify them as they're flying, they know who's up there,
they know who's drowne they.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Are, Yes, absolutely absolutely right. So there's certain and like
I said, I can't I can't tell you everything, but
there are certain devices and the FAA FCC can see
what kind of drones are flying in the air. It's
just almost like when you fly a drone, you have
to register your drone in it's more like a license
plate of who's drone it is worth? The location, phone number, address,
(02:45):
Do they have their flight drone license? They're they're part
one oh seven, right, so you know that you know
who's who's flying it, who's drone it is to make
the model, the serial number, and you know where the
location of the person who bought the drone there as well.
So once they see them in the air like on
the radars, so like that, they know exactly who's flying
(03:07):
that drone. So's it's more like a license plate.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
For for your drone that could That's good. So what
does your company do? Do you and do you think
you should you should be involved in this story in
this issue.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yeah, we'll take this out right, I you know, like
I said, I'm not I'm I'm at liberty to say
certain things. But but what our company does is that
I heard one of your uh uh talks a few
days ago. Whatever, right, what we do is that we
land the drone safe and sound, right, we can we
(03:41):
can detect the drones, we can identify what kind of
drone is, and also we can locate where the pilot
there is there as well. With our with our layer
system of counter us, I think that we're the first
layer where a cyber r drone takeover, right whereas that
we can intercept that signal and land the drone safe
and sound without causing any type of collateral damage. So
(04:05):
what happened is that so we can intercept the drone
and land the drone safe and sound at the pre
bested locations.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Okay, and you can't tell us if you're doing that
in this case right, not at this time though. Okay,
what if foreign countries who had a drone it was
not registered here flew into that space, would we know?
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yes, yes, yes, we would definitely know because the drones
are registered, and I think that's one of the things
there as well. Whatever, right, the drones that are flying,
most of the drones are are registered right there, and
they're not doing anything illegally. Now, now, I'm quite sure
that I know there was like over like five hundred
societies and I believe that it's over fifty two hundred
(04:45):
drones that they might have seen that might not have
been registered. But what happens that we can find out
the location and who's flying those drones and things that
so they can do their investigations and see who's the
person's flying those drones. And then those are like maybe
like the smaller drones where you don't have to register,
you have to regisu drones that weigh over like I
want to say, like maybe three pounds, but those are
(05:08):
the drones have to be registered three pounds and more
I believe, and and and and so what that happens
is that you know, they're just going to just you know,
just double check to make sure those drones that are
flying and just giving them a notification. Hey, your drone
needs to be registered. It's really easy to do. Just
go on to FA dot com and they'll show you
that you know, the lakes to how to register your drone.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Got an email Troy from a listener who believes that
nuclear radiation detection sweeps. Maybe what's going on here? Can
you talk about that? Is that possible that the government
doing that?
Speaker 2 (05:44):
I have no no regulation of that right there, But
but like I said, right, you know, you have to
keep your mind open because anything is possible right, so
you know, I see the American people being concerned about everything. Right,
you can drop liquid flatnol.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Right.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
There. There was an incident that happened, and I think
it was in twenty twenty two April twenty twenty two
in Barcelona, Spain, where the fact that there was five
five drones that were flying over at festival and the
drones just pop pop pop pop pop, and what fell
down was like this white powder. So can you so
you can imagine there was a whole bunch of chaos.
After the investigation, it was only laundry detergent, right, But
(06:26):
at that particular time, like, man, it was just laundry detergent.
Why was somebody wanted to blow up five drones and
just spill laundry detergent on the people? At that time,
I'm thinking like, okay, well maybe that was a test, right,
There was a test to see what would happen, what
kind of chaos would they prevent? So, yes, always keep
our eyes and ears open, always look, always make those
(06:49):
calls and like, hey there's some suspicious drones flying around,
because you never know.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, and that's one of the reasons, that's one of
the reasons the government are saying, look, don't don't be
a cowboy and shoot these things down. Number one, it's illegal.
Number two, you don't know what you might be.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Spelling absolutely absolutely right. You know you can shoot it down.
Maybe that's what they want you to do, right, you
can shoot it down and then like it could be
some type of small little explosives.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Not to mention the collateral, the debris.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Absolutely I think of that, you know, I don't. You
could be on ninety five head headed north and you
know there's drones flown on a highway and things that
can cause all kinds of damage.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Try just I really appreciate the in for this morning.
Just before we run, let me ask you, what is
your level as a professional? What is your level of
comfort or discomfort with this situation in New Jersey?
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Oh? I put it this way, Holley. So I was
like a scale one to ten, right, And because I'm
in the industry here right, ten mining that I'm not comfortable.
I'm probably at like around a seven or eight right now.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Ten means you're uncomfortable, and you're at a seven and
eight seven, that's right. I appreciate that. I won't sleep
better tonight, but I appreciate the time this morning, mister Curse.
Thank you Troy Curse from Defenned Solutions
