Speaker 1 (00:00):
The world's focus on what's going on with Israel and Iran,
the ceasefire announcement and then the violation right away, and
now the President is saying, now it's in effect. It's
in effect, he's mad at both both countries. But let's
just keep it in effect. We're going to follow this
closely through the morning. And then yesterday there was a
report that Dmitri Medvedev, remember him, he was the president

(00:20):
of Russia. He was the one I think that it
wasn't that the President Obama told just tell bladd any
little more time here. Anyway, Now he's saying that there
are countries ready to supply Iran with nuclear warheads in
the wake of the US attack. And we're joined for
a few minutes this morning by political and foreign policy

(00:41):
analyst David Grasso. David, good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
My father was born in Omaha, Nebraska. Good morning, excellent, excellent.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
So you visited probably, of course, yes, sir, good What
do you know about this deal? Number one? We'll go
ahead flesh out the basics of it, and then I
have a couple of follow ups for you.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Well, since then, remember Dmitri meda Yev, Yeah, you're right,
he was the guy that Obama got caught with on
the Hot Mind a few years ago. In fact, I
thought that was Putin, but I had forgotten. And for
all of you who had forgotten who this man is,
remember Putin back then didn't pretended that he wasn't in
a dictator and was such a de term limit. So
he swapped himself out and he had this short guy

(01:22):
in for a few years, right, and then he just
changed all the rules and he came back. You know,
basically they're saying what exactly what we know, which is
Iran is a client state of our enemies like Russia
and China. And of course Mediev has since walked back
those comments because those would go against nuclear non proliferation treaties.
It was probably logistically impossible to do. But it lays

(01:43):
bare exactly what we already know that Iran is not
only cozy with our enemies, but they also support a
terror around the world, specifically so their proxies like HESB
Lajamas and the Hooties. So and this morning, hopefully this
ceasefire holds. But you know, this has been a problem
for a long time. Anyone in news knows that this
has been going on since the Iranian revolution in nineteen

(02:04):
seventy nine.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Indeed, indeed, my first inkling when I first heard this
story was whold, what possible civilized country? And I, and
I exclude North Korea from this, of course, would want
those religious nuts to have a nuclear weapon? So who
who wouldn't mad what I have me talking about?

Speaker 2 (02:27):
It's really interesting, right, But it's kind of the idea
that the enemy of my enemy is my friend, right.
And there's been this move towards America and its allies
having even more allies, and basically at this point, it's
a small list of countries that really aren't you know,
getting with the program. And what's hilarious is my mother's

(02:48):
from Cuba, right, So, and Cuba's aligned with all these
evil countries. So when you when you watch the news
in Cuba, it's like you're watching the opposite news, right,
So what are the lists of these countries? Right, Russia, China, Iran,
North Korea, right, and then Cuba and Venezuela And basically
maybe I'm missing a few there, and all these proxy armies, right,
and that's it. Basically the rest of the world has

(03:09):
gotten with the program that hey, you know, we need
to trade with each other. We need to play nice
with each other, we need to respect each other. And
we have these few counter examples that Greek all this
havoc that we're seeing this pot.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Yeah, I'll tell you what I could see. Now, I don't.
I don't. I don't. I couldn't see nuclear warheads for
their for their messles. What I could see is is
Russia for example, North Korea for another example, maybe supplying
them with a couple of small suitcase type nukes so
they could send up a suicide squad into Israel. That

(03:41):
I could see that happening. How about you?

Speaker 2 (03:45):
You know, I have no idea what could happen. I
can tell you that a lot of people saw this
strike by Israel and then subsequently by the United States
as a preemptive strike. But legitimately, what we've been seeing
in the Middle East, whether it's with Israel or so
Arabia for that matter, you know these proxy armies, whether
it's hezbela Hamas, the Whois and you know literally the

(04:07):
Iranian Revolutionary Guard everywhere. This has been a hot war
with another name for quite some time, and many people
would say this was overdue. The late John McCain used
to joke bomb Aran, bomb Moran. That was a long
time ago, and no one did anything about it until
relatively recently.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Indeed, shouting for another minute here with David Grasso, what
do you make of what's happening today? The ceasefire jubilantly
announced yesterday, then it was violated right away apparently by Iran,
and Israel goes after them, and now the President is
saying no, everybody calm down. Ceasefire is still in effect.
What do you think is happening?

Speaker 2 (04:46):
You know, from from from my perspective, I think I
awaited this. You know, it was a really sudden ceasefire.
I think it caught the world by the surprise. A
lot of people thought this would spin out of control.
The polling shows eighty four percent. Can you imagine, eighty
four percent of us agree that we don't want an
escalating more eighty four percent of us agree with nothing right,
So Americans don't want another war. But it's at least

(05:09):
nice to see that Trump tried to prevent that. And
I think from my perspective that it's nice to see
him be human and see frustrated and drop to the
F bomb on live TV, being like just stop, so
we don't have a problem.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
If nothing else, he's entertaining. But there's a lot else
with this president, and much of it positive, I think, David,
thank you for the time this morning.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Always a pleasure. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
They have you on, they have a Grasso
