Bob, how are you doing?Good? Talking to you? Good talking
to you. You know I'm goingback. I think the first time I
met you, when you came toAustin, you were wearing a Jerry Jeff
Walker T shirt. Oh well, yeah, I wish I still had that.
I wish I wish I had thatT shirt. Hey, you're coming
back to Austin April the eleventh, and we are so excited. It's been
(00:23):
a while since you've been to townfor a full show. I know,
I'm excited to be there. Ilove Austin. I'm looking forward to it
and have a lot of great memoriesof Austin shooting Friday Night Lights. Spent
a lot of time there. Yeah, that's right, Friday Night I forgot
all about that. You spent alot of time in Austin for that.
How was that experience? It wasfantastic. It was, you know,
really a first movie i'd done, really, first big movie anyway i'd done,
(00:46):
and working with Billy, Bob andGarrett Headlin, who's one of my
best friends to this day. Iremember taking the girls out to the sand
dunes and riding the sand dunes outthere. So we just had a great
time when we were hanging there.Well, let me tell you any time
you want to make it on themovie in Austin, man, open arms
for you, for sure. I'mready. I'm ready. Let's do it.
Let's talk. Let's talk about howmuch how many number one hits you've
(01:08):
had so far in your career? Are you really eventually, the way it
looks you are going to uh surpassprobably George Straight is the number one country
artist, aren't you. Oh no, gosh, don't say that. Oh
come on, I think that, you know, I don't know. Man,
that's a that's pretty lofty up there. George is one of my heroes.
Of course, He's been one ofmy heroes since gosh, I was
(01:30):
well right to beginning of high school. I guess when he came out and
always been a huge George Straight fan. And I was lucky enough Faith and
I both lucky enough to I spentthree years with him on a stadium tour,
three years in a row. Andsome of the best times of my
life is tension myself standing on theside of the stage knowing that I just
got off the stage and now I'mwatching George Straight. I mean, it's
(01:51):
it's pretty cool. I remember seeingin San Antonio and you you came down
and it was for the George StraightMusic Festival on Labor Day weekend. You
play down there. Yeah, yeah, I mean it's great memories. I
mean, gosh, one year theDixie Chicks wrong with us, and one
year it was Faith and said, one year was Kenny was on there.
Yeah. We had a lot ofa lot of fun on those tours.
(02:15):
Especially had some fun on one ofthose shows in particular. I wasn't going
to bring that up, but nowthat you brought it up, you want
to go ahead and tell everybody we'retalking, we'll let that one. We'll
let that, Okay. I canpromise you when you're here there will not
be any Shutland ponies or horses around. Tim. I can tell you that.
I don't know. We're in Texas. We'll him for you. Looking
(02:37):
forward to having you back. Whatis it about this tour? Who are
you going to bring with you?Well, Carly Pearce is going to be
out with us. Who's fantastic.Yeah, great career, great songs,
great songwriter, great singer. Ihaven't seen her perform in concert yet,
So I'm looking forward to that. She's fantastic. And then we have a
bunch of bunch of acts that aregoing to be with us, you know,
opening up, a bunch of newacts and that are coming up that
(03:00):
that I sort of looked for andlistened to music and found people that I
thought were really cool and worth havingout and people I wanted to watch.
And it's always fun for me whennew acts are out, even Carly,
any act that's out, when Iget a chance to watch them, because
you never know when you're going tolearn something. What other big projects do
you have besides the tour coming up? Any movies that you can tell.
(03:22):
There's a couple of things down thepike that are coming up, some greenlit
stuff that's going to happen. It'sjust a little bit down the road.
I could get this tour done.Yeah, there's some projects. I'm really
eager for everybody to hear about.Anything else with Taylor. Not yet,
nothing but Taylor yet. But there'sbeen really great stuff and maybe something with
(03:42):
Faith and I down the road evenfurther. So well, I got Faith
knocked me out. I never knewthat Faith could act in watching the TV
series eighteen eighty three, and Ithought, my goodness, that's something we've
been missing for a long time.Of course, she was in the Stafford
Wives, but that was just aperfect row for both of you guys.
It was so much fun. Imean, when we read the script,
we fell in love with it.We knew we had to do it,
we knew we wanted to do it. We knew it was gonna be a
(04:05):
lot of hard work, and itwas. It's probably the hardest job we've
ever had in our lives. AndI grew up working in cotton fields and
rice fields, and I thought thatwas hard work, but it was.
It was tough, but it wasso much fun. I mean, I
grew up riding horses, so beingon horseback every day for fourteen hours a
day was a lot of fun forme. And then Faith got fantastic at
driving the wagon. That was yeah, yeah, well it was just all
(04:26):
natural and stuff like that. Soa lot of fun. Looking forward to
seeing you April the Leaventh Austin,Texas, the Moody Center, which is
a great venue. And that's mybirthday, Tim, So you know what,
you come down here, I'll getyou the cake Okay, you got
