[Dr. Levy]Ready, set, go. At the drum, she'll set
[Dr. Levy]you free. Welcome to OneLife Radio.
[Bernadette]We are going higher indeed, everyone. Welcome to
[Bernadette]the OneLife Radio podcast. This is your host,
[Bernadette]Bernadette Fiachetti, live from our home studios in
[Bernadette]Dallas, Texas. Unedited, real discussions about living your

(00:24):
[Bernadette]best life. And, yes, you do only get
[Bernadette]one life. At least that's what I think,
[Bernadette]unless maybe you're a cat. But I've got
[Bernadette]Marie Early here with me, our executive producer
[Bernadette]at my side, and we are super excited
[Bernadette]to chat today with doctor Thomas e Levy
[Bernadette]for new listeners, a bit about our background.
[Bernadette]Marie is a journalist and has been working

(00:46):
[Bernadette]in Dallas Media for over twenty years and
[Bernadette]has been a part of OneLife Radio for
[Bernadette]the past seven years, and I went from
[Bernadette]wings to wellness as the cofounder of Pizza
[Bernadette]Patron and Wingstop, as well as the founder
[Bernadette]of Adrift Load Spa and OneLife Radio. So
[Bernadette]welcome again to the OneLife Radio podcast, and
[Bernadette]we are going to try to be contagiously

(01:06):
[Bernadette]positive while we educate you about our topic
[Bernadette]today, which is Crohn's disease and vitamin c
[Bernadette]deficiency with doctor Thomas e Levy. He is
[Bernadette]board certified he is a board certified cardiologist
[Bernadette]and bar certified attorney. After practicing adult cardiology
[Bernadette]for fifteen years, he began to research enormous

(01:26):
[Bernadette]toxicity associated with much dental work as well
[Bernadette]as the pronounced ability of properly administered vitamin
[Bernadette]c to neutralize this toxicity. He He has
[Bernadette]now written thirteen books including Hidden Epidemic and
[Bernadette]most recently Rapid Virus Recovery with several vital
[Bernadette]role in the effective vital role in the

(01:52):
[Bernadette]effective treatment of heart disease and cancer. Recently
[Bernadette]inducted into the Orthomolecular Medicine Hall of Fame,
[Bernadette]doctor Levy continues to research the impact of
[Bernadette]the orthomolecular application of vitamin c and antioxidants
[Bernadette]in general on chronic degenerative diseases. You can
[Bernadette]find doctor Levy at Tom Levy MD dot

[Bernadette]Doctor Levy, welcome back to OneLife Radio. Such
[Bernadette]a pleasure.
[Dr. Levy]Thank you. Always glad to be come by.
[Bernadette]Yeah. Yeah. You know, and this topic really
[Bernadette]fascinates me. And the more I dug, the
[Bernadette]more interesting it became. So like I said,
[Bernadette]welcome back to the podcast, and it's always

(02:33):
[Bernadette]really such a pleasure to have you with
[Bernadette]us. And I know that we have a
[Bernadette]lot of regular listeners that are very anxious
[Bernadette]to hear this podcast when we when we
[Bernadette]drop it. Is that the term you use
[Bernadette]now?
[Marie]You you can.
[Bernadette]Or does that only apply to music? But,
[Bernadette]today, we're talking about the correlation between Crohn's
[Bernadette]disease and vitamin c deficiency. As one, if

(02:54):
[Bernadette]not the leading expert in vitamin c therapy,
[Bernadette]doctor Levy, will you tell our listeners a
[Bernadette]little bit about your history studying vitamin c?
[Dr. Levy]Well, I guess I was just a regular
[Dr. Levy]cardiologist until thirty years ago. And I met
[Dr. Levy]doctor Hal Huggins in Colorado Springs, Colorado, who
[Dr. Levy]probably is the first biological dentist. And he

(03:19):
[Dr. Levy]invited me to his clinic to see what
[Dr. Levy]was going on there, and I didn't know
[Dr. Levy]anything about vitamin c, dental toxicity, none of
[Dr. Levy]that. And after going to the clinic, just
[Dr. Levy]a time or two, I was stunned by
[Dr. Levy]what I saw. And I saw in particular
[Dr. Levy]one very ill patient, in a wheelchair get
[Dr. Levy]a ton of dental work over several hours,

(03:40):
[Dr. Levy]and she got more animated and stronger as
[Dr. Levy]the as everything went on. And I said,
[Dr. Levy]wow. This doesn't fit. And Hal told me,
[Dr. Levy]well, we're giving her fifty grams of vitamin
[Dr. Levy]c before, during, and after the procedure. And
[Dr. Levy]I have no idea what that meant, but
[Dr. Levy]I as I like to say, I'm not
[Dr. Levy]in the habit of denying what I've witnessed,

(04:02):
[Dr. Levy]and that immediately really changed my life. I
[Dr. Levy]said I need to dig into this, find
[Dr. Levy]out what's going on, and that began my
[Dr. Levy]four years of research for the first significant
[Dr. Levy]book, Curing the Vitamin C, Infectious Diseases, and
[Dr. Levy]Toxins. And pretty much since then, it's just
[Dr. Levy]been a continuation of that, an evolution of

(04:23):
[Dr. Levy]that, building up the body of knowledge. Doctor
[Dr. Levy]Huggins unfortunately passed about ten years ago, but
[Dr. Levy]I'm trying to do my best to keep
[Dr. Levy]up the significance of his work, which is
[Dr. Levy]enormous.
[Bernadette]Mhmm. It is enormous. And you you mentioned
[Bernadette]the book curing the incurable. Let's talk for
[Bernadette]a second about all the different diseases that

(04:43):
[Bernadette]vitamin c can cure that people really are
[Bernadette]unaware of, including AIDS. Right?
[Dr. Levy]Yeah. The thing to remember of item c
[Dr. Levy]is it could be very curative, if you
[Dr. Levy]will, for many infectious diseases, and many toxins.
[Dr. Levy]Okay? For the rest of the diseases, vitamin

(05:04):
[Dr. Levy]c will always reliably help them depending on
[Dr. Levy]how severe it is, maybe or maybe not
[Dr. Levy]cure them, but always help them. And this
[Dr. Levy]is because quite simply, one hundred percent of
[Dr. Levy]chronic diseases, and I mean that one hundred
[Dr. Levy]percent are due to what's called increased oxidative
[Dr. Levy]stress, which means there increased numbers of biomolecules,

(05:29):
[Dr. Levy]RNA, DNA, protein, sugars, fats, enzymes, inside the
[Dr. Levy]cell that are oxidized or in an electron
[Dr. Levy]depleted state. And when they're in an electron
[Dr. Levy]depleted state, they don't work. Mhmm. So the
[Dr. Levy]more you have oxidation, the less of the
[Dr. Levy]normal biomolecules are present, and that, in fact,
[Dr. Levy]is the disease. The oxidation doesn't lead to

(05:52):
[Dr. Levy]a disease, it is the disease. And so
[Dr. Levy]the factors that cause oxidation, which are always
[Dr. Levy]toxins, toxins are pro oxidant, they take electrons
[Dr. Levy]away, they oxidize biomolecules, and then you bring
[Dr. Levy]on the antioxidants led by vitamin C, which
[Dr. Levy]are always capable of optimally distributing electrons and

(06:14):
[Dr. Levy]bringing electrons back to electron depleted, molecules, restoring
[Dr. Levy]them to normal. And in essence, it's sounds
[Dr. Levy]like it's oversimplification, but it's not really. All
[Dr. Levy]your disease is an ongoing balance, or shall
[Dr. Levy]we say, imbalance between how many new toxins
[Dr. Levy]you have coming into your body and how

(06:35):
[Dr. Levy]much antioxidant protection you could bring in.
[Bernadette]It's also interesting. It really is. And so,
[Bernadette]you know, I was drawn to our topic
[Bernadette]today as I told you before we went
[Bernadette]live because of an article I read about
[Bernadette]the correlation between vitamin c deficiency and Crohn's
[Bernadette]disease. And I have a nephew who has
[Bernadette]suffered with Crohn's disease for over ten years.
[Bernadette]And, you know, when he tells me what
[Bernadette]he goes through with this disease, it's really

(06:57):
[Bernadette]heartbreaking. And, he's a single dad with four
[Bernadette]boys. And this Crohn's disease has really impacted
[Bernadette]his life and his boys. And he's a
[Bernadette]wonderful father. He's a great father, but it's
[Bernadette]a lot to deal with. And so, you
[Bernadette]know, what is Crohn's disease, doctor Levy, and
[Bernadette]does it cause vitamin c deficiencies?

(07:17):
[Dr. Levy]Crohn's disease is an ongoing chronic inflammation of
[Dr. Levy]the gut, generally of the small intestine. And
[Dr. Levy]the absorption ability of the gut goes way
[Dr. Levy]down, and so you end up, in addition
[Dr. Levy]to having the inflammation of the gut, you
[Dr. Levy]have a incredibly increased absorption of the toxins

(07:39):
[Dr. Levy]and, pathogens that are growing in an abnormal
[Dr. Levy]microbiome in your gut, getting into your system
[Dr. Levy]and then causing a wide array of different
[Dr. Levy]problems. And there's probably no two cases of
[Dr. Levy]Crohn's disease that are completely the same. I
[Dr. Levy]will say this though, modern medicine, I use
[Dr. Levy]that term advisedly, I should say traditional medicine,

(08:01):
[Dr. Levy]considers bone disease to be incurable. And instead,
[Dr. Levy]they just work with immunosuppressive and a wide
[Dr. Levy]array of drugs, everything drug, drug, drug. But
[Dr. Levy]the thing is, is what did I tell
[Dr. Levy]you? I just said all diseases, that means,
[Dr. Levy]that means Crohn's disease too, is an ongoing
[Dr. Levy]exposure to excess toxins causing oxidative stress. And

(08:24):
[Dr. Levy]where do these toxins come from? They come
[Dr. Levy]from swallowing, in your aerodigestive tract where you
[Dr. Levy]have a significant amount, most people, especially if
[Dr. Levy]they don't take certain measures, which we may
[Dr. Levy]or may have not time to talk about,
[Dr. Levy]to clean out what's called the chronic pathogen
[Dr. Levy]colonization of their nose and throat. And what

(08:46):
[Dr. Levy]does this is I had, advocated hydrogen peroxide
[Dr. Levy]debridization to deal with the pathogen for COVID.
[Dr. Levy]That was the book that I wrote, Rapid
[Dr. Levy]Virus Recovery.
[Bernadette]Mhmm.
[Dr. Levy]As it turns out, I almost called that
[Dr. Levy]book book Rapid Gut Recovery. But since we're
[Dr. Levy]since we are in the middle of a
[Dr. Levy]pandemic, I said, well, it's more important to
[Dr. Levy]bring the attention to the the fact that

(09:09):
[Dr. Levy]it can end the pandemic, but I think
[Dr. Levy]it's just as important what it does to
[Dr. Levy]the gut. And what it does to the
[Dr. Levy]gut, in so many cases, normalizes it because
[Dr. Levy]it wipes out. Now chronic pathogen colonization is
[Dr. Levy]not an infection. It's a persistent presence of
[Dr. Levy]pathogens in your nose and throat. You feel
[Dr. Levy]perfectly fine. You don't suspect it's there, and

(09:31):
[Dr. Levy]it's covered by a biofilm, so antibiotics can't
[Dr. Levy]touch it. And I can't say I have
[Dr. Levy]a series like this, but, when I, I
[Dr. Levy]received an email one day about a year
[Dr. Levy]ago, and it was a lady talking about
[Dr. Levy]her sixteen year old son who had Crohn's
[Dr. Levy]disease for a year and a half, bedridden,
[Dr. Levy]horribly ill, didn't have any energy at all,

(09:54):
[Dr. Levy]was wasting away on a whole host of
[Dr. Levy]drugs. And she started nebulizing it with hydrogen
[Dr. Levy]peroxide and just taking some supplements and getting
[Dr. Levy]them off all of those drugs. And within,
[Dr. Levy]I think, sixty days, he he gradually steadily
[Dr. Levy]improved, but at sixty day point, he said

(10:15):
[Dr. Levy]it was like a light switch went off,
[Dr. Levy]and he felt perfectly fine. Wow. And since
[Dr. Levy]since then, he's gone back to school and
[Dr. Levy]become an athlete. And this is all this
[Dr. Levy]is all with a disease that's considered to
[Dr. Levy]be incurable. The point is, is the gut
[Dr. Levy]regenerates itself very rapidly because there's a lot
[Dr. Levy]of stem cells down there. The gut regenerates

(10:37):
[Dr. Levy]rapidly when you stop daily, nonstop, twenty four
[Dr. Levy]seven poisoning, which is what most people are
[Dr. Levy]doing because most people have this pathogenization. They
[Dr. Levy]don't realize it, and nothing in their ordinary
[Dr. Levy]array of medicines takes out this pathogen colonization,
[Dr. Levy]but hydrogen peroxide does.
[Bernadette]Why do medical doctors not know this? Why

(10:59):
[Bernadette]are they not treating their patients with this?
[Bernadette]I mean, there's, there's so many things that
[Bernadette]I read that are so counterintuitive.
[Marie]Why do so many doctors and groups say
[Marie]that it is dangerous to do to nebulize
[Marie]hydrogen peroxide?
[Bernadette]Oh, that's a good question. Yeah. Let's let's
[Bernadette]start there.
[Dr. Levy]Because they're completely ignorant about it or they're

(11:20):
[Dr. Levy]deadly scared of what it's gonna do to
[Dr. Levy]their practice.
[Bernadette]Yeah.
[Dr. Levy]Okay. This is the hydrogen peroxide. Let me
[Dr. Levy]drop off into that for a moment. You
[Dr. Levy]see, the hydrogen peroxide is naturally produced in
[Dr. Levy]your body.
[Bernadette]You
[Dr. Levy]have h two o water, o two oxygen,
[Dr. Levy]and you have hydrogen peroxide, which is h
[Dr. Levy]two zero two. It's one of the most
[Dr. Levy]common molecules in your body. And get this,

(11:42):
[Dr. Levy]in your lungs, your lungs naturally produce hydrogen
[Dr. Levy]peroxide and express it into the airspace to
[Dr. Levy]deal with the pathogens that you inhale with
[Dr. Levy]every breath. And when you get infected and
[Dr. Levy]there's too many pathogens, then all you're doing
[Dr. Levy]with hydrogen peroxide and ammunization is augmenting and
[Dr. Levy]boosting the body's natural response to an infection.

(12:07):
[Dr. Levy]And there's a lot more that documented just
[Dr. Levy]as well like that. But the point is
[Dr. Levy]is, yeah, sure. It works great on cleaning
[Dr. Levy]up your counter and this, that, or the
[Dr. Levy]other, and disinfecting it, but that doesn't mean
[Dr. Levy]it's not as effective or more effective inside
[Dr. Levy]the body. Effective. So no, it's it's a
[Dr. Levy]natural substance, and it's absolutely harmless when you

(12:31):
[Dr. Levy]use the proper concentration. I say that because
[Dr. Levy]anything can be made toxic. So they come
[Dr. Levy]out with all sort of ridiculous circumstances about
[Dr. Levy]someone who just does it nonstop, uses a
[Dr. Levy]high concentration, and now they have an irritation
[Dr. Levy]in their throat and their lungs. Well, you
[Dr. Levy]can abuse yourself with anything. I mean, one

(12:52):
[Dr. Levy]hundred thousand people in the United States every
[Dr. Levy]year die of, get this, prescription drugs that
[Dr. Levy]are taken as prescribed, not abused, not overdosed,
[Dr. Levy]but they take them as described, and they
[Dr. Levy]die. Yeah. So nobody has died from properly
[Dr. Levy]administered hydrogen peroxide by nebulization.

(13:14):
[Bernadette]Wow. You know, all of this is a
[Bernadette]lot to take in. It really is in
[Bernadette]process. And, you know, what I what I
[Bernadette]was saying earlier is that a lot of
[Bernadette]these protocols and treatments, these medications that are
[Bernadette]prescribed for Crohn's disease really, are, they produce
[Bernadette]mesalamine. Okay? That's one of them. And cholesterol
[Bernadette]mean. These are two, prescribed drugs. And prednisone

(13:36):
[Bernadette]and antibiotics, a lot of these things, but
[Bernadette]especially the the first two that I mentioned,
[Bernadette]the mesalamine and the colostromine. Those two prescriptions
[Bernadette]for for Crohn's disease produce the same, they
[Bernadette]produce bloody diarrhea, which is one of the
[Bernadette]symptoms of of Crohn's disease. Right? And and
[Bernadette]common common side effects are constipation, upset stomach,

(13:58):
[Bernadette]diarrhea, loose stools, nauseousness, vomiting. And so, doctor
[Bernadette]Levy, what are your thoughts about this? Prescribing
[Bernadette]drugs that that that basically the side effects
[Bernadette]produce the same thing in you, the same
[Bernadette]types of symptoms that you're trying to fight.
[Dr. Levy]Well, I think it's criminal. That's what I
[Dr. Levy]think. No. So many doctors, I'm not gonna

(14:20):
[Dr. Levy]say all of them, but so many doctors
[Dr. Levy]don't want to know about anything other than
[Dr. Levy]what they do. And for those few doctors
[Dr. Levy]of reading my book or any of my

(14:40):
[Dr. Levy]articles, and they wouldn't dream of looking at
[Dr. Levy]any of the eighty thousand articles on vitamin
[Dr. Levy]C, for example, in the literature. Instead, they
[Dr. Levy]go to the textbook of medicine, which has
[Dr. Levy]in the course of four thousand pages not
[Dr. Levy]a single mention of vitamin C for anything.
[Dr. Levy]So I mean, they're living inside a cocoon.

(15:00):
[Dr. Levy]They're group wise extraordinarily arrogant and feel that
[Dr. Levy]they know more about everything than anybody. And
[Dr. Levy]when you have something like that, you're not
[Dr. Levy]gonna get a good result. I mean, all
[Dr. Levy]diseases, one hundred percent, are due to, I
[Dr. Levy]said as I said, increased oxidative stress, and
[Dr. Levy]are generally nurtured by deficiencies of different natural

(15:23):
[Dr. Levy]substances, vitamins, minerals, etcetera, nutrients. This is the
[Dr. Levy]premise of orthomolecular medicine. In other words, if
[Dr. Levy]you're sick, you're deficient in something, but you're
[Dr. Levy]not deficient in a prescription drug. That's when
[Dr. Levy]you start and the other thing too is
[Dr. Levy]modern medicine, I will give them this much.
[Dr. Levy]Their tremendous diagnosis. They have so much equipment,

(15:44):
[Dr. Levy]so many machines, they'll diagnose anything, but that's
[Dr. Levy]where it ends. There's very little understanding or
[Dr. Levy]desire to understand pathophysiology and try to address
[Dr. Levy]the process of pathophysiology. And still, they just
[Dr. Levy]throw stuff at the wall until it sticks,
[Dr. Levy]and if some, drug, by some crazy mechanism,

(16:05):
[Dr. Levy]decreases a symptom, then they start using that
[Dr. Levy]even though the drug is not doing anything
[Dr. Levy]at all to reverse the or even slow
[Dr. Levy]down the underlying disease process.
[Bernadette]Mhmm. Mhmm. You know you know this. One
[Bernadette]of the symptoms of Crohn's disease is mouth
[Bernadette]sores, which is a main symptom of scurvy,
[Bernadette]another disease related to vitamin c deficiency. But,

(16:27):
[Bernadette]the article reads that vitamin c deficiency is
[Bernadette]less diagnosed than other vitamin deficiencies related to
[Bernadette]Crohn's disease. Why is that?
[Dr. Levy]Well, again, it's it's not diagnosed because it's
[Dr. Levy]not looked for. Every disease, one hundred percent,
[Dr. Levy]is associated with a variable degree of vitamin
[Dr. Levy]c deficiency, some more so than others. But

(16:48):
[Dr. Levy]in every sense of the word, because of
[Dr. Levy]what I said about oxidative stress, what reverses
[Dr. Levy]or neutralizes oxidative stress? Vitamin c. When you
[Dr. Levy]have too many toxins with increased oxidative stress,
[Dr. Levy]that causes, and is the same as inflammation,
[Dr. Levy]same thing. Decreased numbers of normal biomolecules, increased

(17:09):
[Dr. Levy]oxidized, that defines inflammation. And in every sense
[Dr. Levy]of the word, really, every disease has a
[Dr. Levy]variable degree of scurvy, if you will, or
[Dr. Levy]vitamin c deficiency. It's not limited just to
[Dr. Levy]Crohn's disease. So anytime you have a disease
[Dr. Levy]of any type, you're not getting enough vitamin

(17:31):
[Dr. Levy]c inside the cells that are affected. Now
[Dr. Levy]there's lots of different ways to do that.
[Dr. Levy]It's not always easy, but that's the target.
[Dr. Levy]The target for any disease is to optimize
[Dr. Levy]the depleted vitamin c content inside the cells.
[Bernadette]Mhmm. You know, like I said, when I
[Bernadette]was preparing for the show and, like, I

(17:53):
[Bernadette]went down a rabbit hole and just all
[Bernadette]these things that I discovered about the therapies
[Bernadette]that are that are prescribed for, you know,
[Bernadette]treating Crohn's disease. One of them was the
[Bernadette]low residue diet, which is deficient in fresh
[Bernadette]fruits and vegetables. So it's like, what? It's
[Bernadette]so ridiculous, so counterintuitive to healing the body.
[Bernadette]I mean, I think it's pretty clear from

(18:14):
[Bernadette]what we've said so far, to, in this
[Bernadette]podcast that it is an autoimmune disorder. But
[Bernadette]autoimmune disorders are what what's the main reason
[Bernadette]that I say lifestyle. Right? Lifestyle is a
[Bernadette]main reason that we have so many autoimmune
[Bernadette]disorders and toxins that we receive from a
[Bernadette]lot of different sources in our body. Right?

(18:36):
[Dr. Levy]Well, nearly all toxins, new toxins in the
[Dr. Levy]body come from infections, open infections, other areas
[Dr. Levy]of infection. So, when you have a situation
[Dr. Levy]like that, autoimmune diseases, almost all of them,
[Dr. Levy]come from infections because what happens? You get

(18:56):
[Dr. Levy]an infection somewhere, and then you start producing
[Dr. Levy]infectious metabolic byproducts, and the body will start
[Dr. Levy]trying to immediately react to that. But in
[Dr. Levy]the process, by reasons that are not really
[Dr. Levy]well understood, the reaction to those byproducts of
[Dr. Levy]the infection also starts reacting with the normal

(19:19):
[Dr. Levy]tissue around them. And so you end up,
[Dr. Levy]if you will, that's why the term autoimmune
[Dr. Levy]turning on your immune system against against yourself.
[Dr. Levy]But the answer is not to suppress the
[Dr. Levy]immune system, which is what all drugs do
[Dr. Levy]well. You have an autoimmune response, let's suppress
[Dr. Levy]the immune system. That just makes things work
[Dr. Levy]and go worse in the long run. Instead,

(19:40):
[Dr. Levy]you need to identify those infections, and almost
[Dr. Levy]all of the time, they're in the mouth.
[Dr. Levy]There are infected gums, infected teeth, infected tonsils,
[Dr. Levy]infected sinuses, and or the chronic pathogen colonization
[Dr. Levy]I mentioned to you at the outset, growing
[Dr. Levy]in the nose and throat. If you don't
[Dr. Levy]address those, you keep the autoimmune disease for

(20:02):
[Dr. Levy]life. When I was with doctor Huggins, I
[Dr. Levy]saw a number of cases of lupus, which
[Dr. Levy]is a classical autoimmune disease, with very, very
[Dr. Levy]high levels of antinuclear antibodies, the standard lab
[Dr. Levy]tests due to measure the activity of the
[Dr. Levy]disease. And on more than one occasion, patients
[Dr. Levy]with absolutely astronomical levels of antinuclear antibodies came

(20:25):
[Dr. Levy]into the clinic in over a two week
[Dr. Levy]period, where they went on a a new
[Dr. Levy]diet, they went on a new supplement regimen,
[Dr. Levy]and they got all their root canals, infected
[Dr. Levy]teeth, taken out, and all the other dental
[Dr. Levy]toxins need the mercury, and those levels came
[Dr. Levy]down to zero. Mhmm. So so, I mean,

(20:46):
[Dr. Levy]we're we're we can't ignore the elephant in
[Dr. Levy]the room. We just pretend the elephant in
[Dr. Levy]the room, dental toxicity. We've talked about that
[Dr. Levy]before. Mhmm. If we do that, if you
[Dr. Levy]do that, you're just chasing your tail.
[Bernadette]Yeah. No. I would agree. And there's so
[Bernadette]there's so many I there's so many factors.
[Bernadette]I think that, you know, vaccines, you over
[Bernadette]usage of vaccines, if not all vaccines, have

(21:08):
[Bernadette]an effect on our immune system, which I
[Bernadette]think are partly guilty for all this this
[Bernadette]rise in autoimmune disorders. What do you say
[Bernadette]about that, doctor Levy?
[Dr. Levy]No question at all. Do you know that
[Dr. Levy]the DPT vaccine, they've used that for a
[Dr. Levy]long time, unfortunately, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus. Well, when

(21:29):
[Dr. Levy]the vaccine first came out, investigators would use
[Dr. Levy]the pertussis part encephalitis in their encephalitis in
[Dr. Levy]their test animals.
[Bernadette]Oh my god.
[Dr. Levy]And that's exactly what it does in babies.
[Dr. Levy]Alright? I mean, doesn't happen to a hundred

(21:51):
[Dr. Levy]percent, but how much of a percent do
[Dr. Levy]you want it to happen when you're giving
[Dr. Levy]a vaccine for something that vitamin c and
[Dr. Levy]a few other things could treat naturally or
[Dr. Levy]prevent. Mhmm. And when the baby just all
[Dr. Levy]of a sudden goes from a bright smile
[Dr. Levy]to a frown and starts crying and touching
[Dr. Levy]their head, I mean, you better get the
[Dr. Levy]vitamin C going and fast. Mhmm. Or you've

(22:13):
[Dr. Levy]got autism for sure. Alright? Yes. It causes
[Dr. Levy]autism. Yes. It's the primary cause of autism.
[Dr. Levy]And just gaslighting the whole public into into
[Dr. Levy]into the idea that you just can't say
[Dr. Levy]something so outlandish because that just can't be
[Dr. Levy]true. Well, the truth is the truth. Mhmm.
[Dr. Levy]Yeah. And so so no. I'm and just

(22:34):
[Dr. Levy]like you said at the start of this,
[Dr. Levy]they also initiate autoimmune reactions for the same
[Dr. Levy]reasons.
[Bernadette]Right.
[Dr. Levy]It was found out a long time ago
[Dr. Levy]at the same time that children were starting
[Dr. Levy]to get, less and less of the babies,
[Dr. Levy]of course, who couldn't talk, but they could
[Dr. Levy]clearly upset by the horrible headaches they would
[Dr. Levy]start getting after these vaccines were given, that's

(22:56):
[Dr. Levy]when the digestive abnormalities start. Almost all these
[Dr. Levy]babies, very large number of them, that's the
[Dr. Levy]first thing that screws up their gut. And
[Dr. Levy]then they start getting chronic gut pain. And,
[Dr. Levy]I mean, look at so many of the
[Dr. Levy]babies. It's not natural for a baby to
[Dr. Levy]to to have something and then start having
[Dr. Levy]gas and upset stomach and everything else. That's

(23:16):
[Dr. Levy]not natural. That's not the way it's supposed
[Dr. Levy]to go. But the whole freaking population is
[Dr. Levy]vaccinated, so it's just the baseline toxicity for
[Dr. Levy]everybody.
[Bernadette]Right. And accept it. It's just like, oh,
[Bernadette]yeah. Babies And
[Dr. Levy]accept it. Yes.
[Bernadette]Very sad. And so is there I'm I'm
[Bernadette]I'm guessing the answer is yes based on
[Bernadette]being a mother of twice and just listening
[Bernadette]and reading so much from from experts like

(23:39):
[Bernadette]you. Just popped in and out of my
[Bernadette]head. The, what do you call it when
[Bernadette]babies a colic. So colic is related to
[Bernadette]this as well. Right?
[Dr. Levy]Precisely. Precisely. Yes.
[Bernadette]Yeah. Wow. And I didn't have colicky babies,
[Bernadette]and I did not vaccinate my babies early
[Bernadette]before. I wouldn't have not have vaccinated them
[Bernadette]at all had I known what I know
[Bernadette]now. But I did do it in such
[Bernadette]a way I only picked a few. And

(24:00):
[Bernadette]the ones that I thought that were the
[Bernadette]scariest, if they were to contract that, you
[Bernadette]know, that virus or disease, and immunize them
[Bernadette]against that, and I did it months apart.
[Bernadette]So
[Dr. Levy]Let me let me tell you something else
[Dr. Levy]too that is just one huge added factor
[Dr. Levy]accelerating everything we're talking about from the babies
[Dr. Levy]to the Crohn's disease, to digestive problems in

(24:21):
[Dr. Levy]general, is the fact that our anointed idiots
[Dr. Levy]in public in the public health medicine back
[Dr. Levy]in the nineteen four back in the nineteen
[Dr. Levy]forties, started putting iron in everything. Iron in
[Dr. Levy]every in in all the grades, all the

(24:43):
[Dr. Levy]rices is called food enrichment. And any type
[Dr. Levy]of iron is bad for you, but if
[Dr. Levy]you look at it and anybody who's interested,
[Dr. Levy]go to YouTube and type in Doctor. Levy
[Dr. Levy]Iron Video, and you'll see that regular cereals
[Dr. Levy]have not only iron in it, they have
[Dr. Levy]metallic iron filings.

(25:04):
[Bernadette]Oh, wow.
[Dr. Levy]Metallic iron filings. Now, what do you think
[Dr. Levy]that does to your gut every time you
[Dr. Levy]swallow that? Pure inflammation, pure, oxidative stress. And
[Dr. Levy]iron is one of what I call the
[Dr. Levy]three toxic nutrients. Okay? Calcium, copper, and iron.
[Dr. Levy]We all need them for life in small

(25:26):
[Dr. Levy]amounts
[Bernadette]Mhmm.
[Dr. Levy]But they are the three primary mechanisms by
[Dr. Levy]which we disease cells and eventually kill cells
[Dr. Levy]when the elevate when the levels get elevated.
[Dr. Levy]But the point being is this isn't all
[Dr. Levy]the infant formulas, this isn't all the stuff
[Dr. Levy]just to help out that little baby so
[Dr. Levy]much. Back in the day, they had large
[Dr. Levy]numbers of iron deficiency anemia in Africa and

(25:49):
[Dr. Levy]the other, undeveloped countries, and our geniuses in
[Dr. Levy]the United States, I'm I'm assuming they had
[Dr. Levy]good intent. The geniuses in the United States
[Dr. Levy]says, well, we gotta make sure nobody in
[Dr. Levy]the United States gets iron deficiency anemia, so
[Dr. Levy]we're gonna give them iron and everything, whether
[Dr. Levy]they eat it or not. And like I
[Dr. Levy]just said, iron has a very low toxicity

(26:11):
[Dr. Levy]level. I mean, just a little bit of
[Dr. Levy]it is highly toxic. If you have a
[Dr. Levy]normal blood count and you don't have iron
[Dr. Levy]deficiency anemia, you don't need one more molecule
[Dr. Levy]of iron in your body. If that's what,
[Dr. Levy]I mean, the people that can't afford an
[Dr. Levy]organic diet, that can't afford, They're they're forced
[Dr. Levy]to buy the packaged food. It's all been
[Dr. Levy]poisoned with iron. Mhmm.

(26:33):
[Bernadette]And when they test you for, iron poor
[Bernadette]blood, isn't that test in itself flawed? Because
[Bernadette]it doesn't measure the and I'm trying to
[Bernadette]think of the what it is that compound
[Bernadette]or chemical or or or substance that's in
[Bernadette]the iron molecule, and I'm getting in some
[Bernadette]deep water here with myself. I can't think
[Bernadette]of what it do you know what I'm
[Bernadette]talking?

(26:53):
[Dr. Levy]I'm not sure. Then what how they test
[Dr. Levy]for iron or the most accurate way to
[Dr. Levy]test for the irons of your body, in
[Dr. Levy]other words, is it, normal, high, or low,
[Dr. Levy]is by doing the ferritin level. That's it.
[Dr. Levy]Ferritin level. That that's that's the storage form
[Dr. Levy]of iron. You don't wanna be messing with
[Dr. Levy]the serum iron levels and all that stuff.
[Dr. Levy]It seems like it would be relevant, but

(27:14):
[Dr. Levy]it's not that relevant. What's relevant is to
[Dr. Levy]know whether your lifestyle, your supplementation, your diet
[Dr. Levy]has been causing you to accumulate iron, and
[Dr. Levy]that's reflected in the ferritin level. The only
[Dr. Levy]time anybody should ever take iron, and it
[Dr. Levy]shouldn't be indefinitely, is when they have an
[Dr. Levy]iron deficiency anemia. Not any anemia, an iron

(27:36):
[Dr. Levy]deficiency anemia, and that's easy to diagnose because
[Dr. Levy]the red blood cells are small, microcytic, and
[Dr. Levy]they're very pale, hypochromic. That type of anemia
[Dr. Levy]responds to iron and will build back up
[Dr. Levy]again. It's it's crazy because the oncologist just
[Dr. Levy]never caught on or never realized what they're
[Dr. Levy]doing. Mhmm. And so it and somehow this

(27:58):
[Dr. Levy]morphed into, well, iron is good for an
[Dr. Levy]anemias. No, iron is good for an iron
[Dr. Levy]deficiency anemia, generally when you're losing blood or
[Dr. Levy]bleeding somewhere, getting low on your iron, and
[Dr. Levy]then your hemoglobin level drops. Mhmm. What do
[Dr. Levy]the oncologists do? They have already these horribly
[Dr. Levy]critically ill patients being poisoned with with their

(28:18):
[Dr. Levy]chemotherapy agents, and they all have what's called
[Dr. Levy]anemia of chronic disease, not an iron deficiency
[Dr. Levy]anemia. And what do they do? They say,
[Dr. Levy]well, let's give you a lot of iron.
[Dr. Levy]And that just maximizes the oxidative stress in
[Dr. Levy]ushering these people out of the planet.
[Bernadette]Wow. This is so interesting. It really is.
[Bernadette]And so how do you how how does

(28:39):
[Bernadette]one get an iron deficiency anemia? I'm thinking
[Bernadette]because I know two young girls that, one
[Bernadette]is my own daughter and one is, a
[Bernadette]friend of mine's that were that their their
[Bernadette]daughter was diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia. Is
[Bernadette]it from heavy menstrual cycles?
[Dr. Levy]Yes. It's almost all the time, it's from
[Dr. Levy]blood loss. And in younger people, like you

(29:00):
[Dr. Levy]say, menstruating females, it's coming from excessive menses.
[Dr. Levy]In older people, you really have to do
[Dr. Levy]an intense investigation for either a gastrointestinal cancer
[Dr. Levy]or a bleeding ulcer. And there's one other
[Dr. Levy]less well known subset that will bring on
[Dr. Levy]iron deficiency anemia because most people don't realize,

(29:21):
[Dr. Levy]most doctors don't realize that you can lower
[Dr. Levy]iron by excessive sweating. And they've actually shown
[Dr. Levy]that young healthy boys and girls, young men,
[Dr. Levy]young women who are in aerobic heavy aerobic
[Dr. Levy]sports
[Bernadette]Mhmm.
[Dr. Levy]Can exercise themselves into an iron deficiency anemia

(29:44):
[Dr. Levy]by the end of the season. Mhmm. You
[Dr. Levy]know, nothing nothing other than loss of iron
[Dr. Levy]through the sweat. But that's that's pretty limited
[Dr. Levy]there. I mean, there are many people, certainly
[Dr. Levy]older people, that are having any sort of
[Dr. Levy]excessive loss of iron in their sweat, and
[Dr. Levy]so you always have to think in terms
[Dr. Levy]of I'm losing blood, where is the blood
[Dr. Levy]being lost from?

(30:05):
[Bernadette]Right. This is so I I I love
[Bernadette]talking about this. I'm putting putting all the
[Bernadette]little pieces together. But it's very complicated in
[Bernadette]one way and some ways, I should say.
[Bernadette]And it's very simple as well. Like, to
[Bernadette]understanding a lot of these, a lot of
[Bernadette]these diseases, as I said earlier, are light
[Bernadette]are because of lifestyle choices. Right? Because, like,
[Bernadette]Crohn's disease, one of the number one things
[Bernadette]that they say causes, and it's mostly white

(30:27):
[Bernadette]people too. So is it genetic? But but
[Bernadette]smoking is what I was alluding to. It's
[Bernadette]it's really bad if if Smoking and a
[Marie]lot of, affirming or African Americans have it
[Marie]too.
[Bernadette]Oh, really? Uh-huh. Okay. Okay.
[Dr. Levy]Well, one thing you have to remember about
[Dr. Levy]smoking is, okay, smoke in your lungs, lung
[Dr. Levy]cancer, everybody, but then they start talking about

(30:48):
[Dr. Levy]smoking and heart disease or other diseases like
[Dr. Levy]you're mentioning right now. Talk to any dentist,
[Dr. Levy]any dentist that, and ask him or her,
[Dr. Levy]what do the gums look like for somebody
[Dr. Levy]who smokes a pack or more a day?
[Dr. Levy]And they'll say they're all horrible. Nobody that
[Dr. Levy]smokes significantly has normal gums, and gums are

(31:12):
[Dr. Levy]the place where all the pathology in the
[Dr. Levy]mouth from infection starts. Once you start losing
[Dr. Levy]healthy gums and the pathogens colonize the side
[Dr. Levy]of the gums, sometimes work your way down
[Dr. Levy]to the tooth, sometimes just promote the chronic
[Dr. Levy]pathogen colonization as you swallow. Gums, that's why

(31:32):
[Dr. Levy]smoking it seems almost a little bit silly,
[Dr. Levy]but that's why smoking causes as much problems
[Dr. Levy]as it does for the most part, is
[Dr. Levy]because it completely destroys the ability of somebody
[Dr. Levy]to maintain normal gums, and they all have
[Dr. Levy]chronic gum infection, chronic periodontal disease.
[Bernadette]Wow. Okay. Prednisone. Prednisone, you mentioned it earlier.

(31:54):
[Bernadette]Were you gonna say something, Marie?
[Marie]Well, I was just, I remember we did
[Marie]a show on calcium, iron, and copper, and
[Marie]they all have to be at this at
[Marie]certain levels. They all kind of you need
[Marie]one for the other. Like, we we talked
[Marie]about calcium. You can overdo the calcium supplements,
[Marie]things like that.
[Bernadette]Causes heart disease. Right, doctor Levy?

(32:16):
[Dr. Levy]As I said, you should never supplement calcium.
[Dr. Levy]Never. Never. Never. I wrote a whole book
[Dr. Levy]on that called death by calcium. You can
[Dr. Levy]see all the data.
[Bernadette]That's right. Yeah.
[Dr. Levy]Yes. The the whole planet is poisoning themselves.
[Dr. Levy]Every cell that has increased oxidative stress, everyone
[Dr. Levy]has an elevated intercellular calcium. It's absolutely required

(32:39):
[Dr. Levy]to have that oxidative stress and to have
[Dr. Levy]the calcium up. So everything you can do
[Dr. Levy]to bring the calcium down, and taking calcium
[Dr. Levy]is not the way to do that, is
[Dr. Levy]also something that promotes good health. Magnesium pulls
[Dr. Levy]pushes the calcium down. Vitamin c works to
[Dr. Levy]do that, but these are the things you
[Dr. Levy]need to do. I I know it's it's,

(33:01):
[Dr. Levy]and the thing is they say there's not
[Dr. Levy]enough calcium in bones with osteoporosis. Well, that's
[Dr. Levy]not the cause of the osteoporosis. Yes. Osteoporosis
[Dr. Levy]is low in calcium, but the answer is
[Dr. Levy]not calcium. It's like burning up wood and
[Dr. Levy]the smoke is the calcium. Mhmm. And then
[Dr. Levy]now you wanna put the smoke back into
[Dr. Levy]the wood. No. It doesn't work that way.
[Dr. Levy]Alright? You you need to reconstruct bone by

(33:24):
[Dr. Levy]a multistage process, and vitamin c actually can
[Dr. Levy]help do that by itself. But with other
[Dr. Levy]bone agents too, is very good as well.
[Dr. Levy]Mhmm. So so no. So no. You want
[Dr. Levy]to avoid calcium at all costs. Absolutely.
[Bernadette]Wow. Yeah. I remember you saying that. Because
[Bernadette]I got Wait.
[Dr. Levy]You asked about prednisone. Let me tell you
[Dr. Levy]this about prednisone. All the prescription corticosteroids, prednisone,

(33:56):
[Dr. Levy]dexamethasone, methylprednisolone, these are all steroid hammers, steroid
[Dr. Levy]sledgehammers, because the one steroid you need, and
[Dr. Levy]it's produced naturally in the in the adrenal
[Dr. Levy]gland, is called cortisol, which is also known
[Dr. Levy]as hydrocortisol. That's the only thing anybody should

(34:16):
[Dr. Levy]ever be taking when they feel there's there's
[Dr. Levy]a need for a steroid type treatment. Why?
[Dr. Levy]Because the primary role of a corticosteroid, hydrocortisone,
[Dr. Levy]but also the other ones, is to push
[Dr. Levy]vitamin c inside the cell.
[Bernadette]Oh, wow.
[Dr. Levy]They they are not intrinsically anti inflammatory. They
[Dr. Levy]are anti inflammatory because they push the real

(34:39):
[Dr. Levy]anti inflammatory inside your cells. And of course,
[Dr. Levy]this is not recognized, so they don't prescribe
[Dr. Levy]vitamin C with the corticosteroids. So what happens
[Dr. Levy]is they start somebody with arthritis or high
[Dr. Levy]dose prednisone, and initially everything feels great. But
[Dr. Levy]then the stores of vitamin c get used

(34:59):
[Dr. Levy]up, and then they continue to give the
[Dr. Levy]corticosteroid without vitamin c, and then you start
[Dr. Levy]to get all the horrible side effects, the
[Dr. Levy]diabetes, the muscle wasting, and all these other
[Dr. Levy]things we see with prescription prescription corticosteroids. But
[Dr. Levy]you'll never get into trouble when you have
[Dr. Levy]an infection, when you have a chronic disease,
[Dr. Levy]taking some hydrocortisone with your vitamin C, and

(35:23):
[Dr. Levy]it just supercharges the vitamin C dose. And
[Dr. Levy]that's because all diseases are decreased levels of
[Dr. Levy]vitamin C inside your cells. And when you're
[Dr. Levy]able to take something like that because the
[Dr. Levy]other thing too is peep as people get
[Dr. Levy]old, they lose the sex hormones, testosterone, estrogen.
[Dr. Levy]They lose the thyroid hormone. And the big

(35:43):
[Dr. Levy]other elephant in the room that doesn't get
[Dr. Levy]addressed is they start having adrenal insufficiency, and
[Dr. Levy]they no longer make enough hydrocortisone to deal
[Dr. Levy]with stress. And stress is always coming from
[Dr. Levy]excess oxidation or new infections.
[Bernadette]Marie, you act
[Marie]I have all sorts of questions. One, I
[Marie]thought cortisol is gave you belly fat. Like,

(36:07):
[Marie]isn't that true?
[Bernadette]Yeah. Right? Doctor. Lee? No.
[Dr. Levy]No. That's not true at all.
[Bernadette]Oh my gosh.
[Dr. Levy]Now now you have situations where diseases in
[Dr. Levy]which there's excess cortisol produced. Okay. That's an
[Dr. Levy]entirely different thing. I'm talking about the huge
[Dr. Levy]bulk of the population where the adrenal gland

(36:27):
[Dr. Levy]is burning out along with all the other
[Dr. Levy]glands in the body. It's burning out. It's
[Dr. Levy]not producing enough cortisol, but you still need
[Dr. Levy]that cortisol as much as you ever did
[Dr. Levy]if you want to prevent infections and attenuate
[Dr. Levy]chronic diseases because they all have to do
[Dr. Levy]with deficient vitamin c inside the cell, which

(36:48):
[Dr. Levy]is always precipitated when you have hypo adrenalism
[Dr. Levy]or insufficient insufficient cortisol circulating in your body.
[Dr. Levy]So and when you take cortisol like that,
[Dr. Levy]you'll never have a hormone excess property because
[Dr. Levy]the adrenal gland, whatever cortisol it is making,

(37:09):
[Dr. Levy]will just make a little less, and when
[Dr. Levy]you take less, it'll start making more. Unlike
[Dr. Levy]other glands, taking cortisol or hydrocortisol for adrenal
[Dr. Levy]insufficiency rests the glands, it doesn't burn out
[Dr. Levy]the gland. They talk about other things where
[Dr. Levy]you take the hormone long enough and the
[Dr. Levy]gland afterfeys it doesn't work anymore. That's not
[Dr. Levy]the case with the adrenal glands. But you'll

(37:31):
[Dr. Levy]never get yourself into trouble, really, taking five,
[Dr. Levy]ten, fifteen, even twenty milligrams of hydrocortisone a
[Dr. Levy]day, first thing in the morning, along with
[Dr. Levy]a big dose of vitamin c. I mean,
[Dr. Levy]that's just a health tonic like you can't
[Dr. Levy]believe.
[Bernadette]So much to know. So much. You know,

(37:51):
[Bernadette]doctor Levy, we've discussed this before on the
[Bernadette]show too, but I'd like to go over
[Bernadette]it again because people I I when when
[Bernadette]I was preparing for the show last night,
[Bernadette]my friend Laurie stopped over and reminded me
[Bernadette]that we as humans, do not produce or
[Bernadette]synthesize our own vitamin c like other species.
[Bernadette]And, you know, it makes sense. Animals rarely
[Bernadette]get sick. Right? They don't really get the
[Bernadette]common cold or Crohn's disease or all these

(38:13):
[Bernadette]things, you know.
[Dr. Levy]Yeah. Not not many not many animals are
[Dr. Levy]injecting themselves with insulin for their diabetes.
[Bernadette]Yeah. Vitamin c, what I'm trying to get
[Bernadette]at here, is really something that all of
[Bernadette]us need to be very aware of if
[Bernadette]we're
[Dr. Levy]We're all deficient. We're all deficient. Yes. Kinda
[Dr. Levy]like magnesium too.

(38:33):
[Bernadette]Right?
[Dr. Levy]Magnesium too. And when nearly the entire population
[Dr. Levy]has a deficiency, it's not recognized because everybody's
[Dr. Levy]in the same boat. What you mentioned about
[Dr. Levy]vitamin c, let me put this in right
[Dr. Levy]now, is because in the normal liver, this
[Dr. Levy]is present in animals, you have you start
[Dr. Levy]with glucose, glucose, and by a four enzyme

(38:56):
[Dr. Levy]sequence, you make vitamin c and secret it
[Dr. Levy]directly into the bloodstream. That's what should be
[Dr. Levy]happening. And then what should be happening is
[Dr. Levy]when you get an acute infection and acute
[Dr. Levy]stress and acute toxin, the adrenal glands secrete
[Dr. Levy]hydrocortisone, and at the same time, the liver
[Dr. Levy]is secreting vitamin C so that the two

(39:17):
[Dr. Levy]together can supercharge your cells. But instead, what
[Dr. Levy]do we have? We're not making the vitamin
[Dr. Levy]C, we're just accumulating the glucose. The reason
[Dr. Levy]that you don't have any diabetes in animals
[Dr. Levy]is because they use their glucose to make
[Dr. Levy]vitamin c.
[Bernadette]Wow. Okay. So let's go to this. What
[Bernadette]type of vitamin c is best, and what's

(39:40):
[Bernadette]the proper dosage for your average adult? How
[Bernadette]does how does it work?
[Dr. Levy]Well, the best vitamin c, I've worked with
[Dr. Levy]this company for almost twenty years because it's
[Dr. Levy]such a phenomenal product, is the LiveOn Labs
[Dr. Levy]liposome encapsulated vitamin c. Mhmm. It gets the
[Dr. Levy]vitamin c inside the cells, not just in

(40:02):
[Dr. Levy]the bloodstream. Some people, they think it's a
[Dr. Levy]little pricey. Well, you don't have to do
[Dr. Levy]that. You could take other regular forms of
[Dr. Levy]vitamin c, but in order to get the
[Dr. Levy]same effect, you have to take more of
[Dr. Levy]it and more frequently. And that comes down
[Dr. Levy]to something like vitamin c as sodium ascorbate
[Dr. Levy]or ascorbic acid. You put a little powder,

(40:25):
[Dr. Levy]three, four, five, six grams of powder inside
[Dr. Levy]a beverage of your choice, that you can
[Dr. Levy]sip on all day long. That's a good
[Dr. Levy]way to take it because when you take
[Dr. Levy]large amounts of vitamin c all at once,
[Dr. Levy]it doesn't get absorbed that well. But when
[Dr. Levy]you take smaller amounts more frequently or a
[Dr. Levy]small amount more or less continuously, you get

(40:47):
[Dr. Levy]a whole lot more inside the body.
[Bernadette]That's a good tip.
[Dr. Levy]General doses vary widely as you can imagine
[Dr. Levy]depending on your level of toxins and your
[Dr. Levy]level of oxidative stress. But for people who
[Dr. Levy]want a number, I I say, you know,
[Dr. Levy]depending on your gut sensitivity, you you should
[Dr. Levy]try to get at least three to nine

(41:07):
[Dr. Levy]grams of regular vitamin c in a day.
[Dr. Levy]And for most people, that involves taking a
[Dr. Levy]dose more than once, not just taking a
[Dr. Levy]large dose all at once. Mhmm. And then
[Dr. Levy]then, of course, there's the intravenous preparations. That's
[Dr. Levy]that's always good if you have the opportunity
[Dr. Levy]and the availability. But I tell you what,
[Dr. Levy]the intravenous is not better than large doses

(41:29):
[Dr. Levy]of the live on liposomal vitamin c.
[Bernadette]Ah, I was gonna go there.
[Dr. Levy]It's that effective. It's that effect. And the
[Dr. Levy]tragedy is LiveOn Labs has been so successful
[Dr. Levy]because its product is so good. I I
[Dr. Levy]can't tell you how many people out there
[Dr. Levy]are now calling themselves a liposome product, and
[Dr. Levy]it's not. Yeah. They're just they're just waiting

(41:50):
[Dr. Levy]to be reprimanded and then say, oh, okay.
[Dr. Levy]We'll stop.
[Bernadette]Really? When
[Dr. Levy]when they when they don't reprimand them, when
[Dr. Levy]the when the FTC doesn't come in or
[Dr. Levy]the FDA, and say, show this is a
[Dr. Levy]liposomal product, they'll just. And the thing is
[Dr. Levy]is the harm is not super because they're
[Dr. Levy]still giving vitamin c. So it's not like

(42:11):
[Dr. Levy]they're getting a complete placebo. They're still getting
[Dr. Levy]something with vitamin c in it. But for
[Dr. Levy]the critically ill patients, the cancer patients, the
[Dr. Levy]other ones, they're missing out, and they're severely
[Dr. Levy]hurting those patients by making them think they're
[Dr. Levy]getting liposome with a where the vitamin c
[Dr. Levy]is getting inside the cell. I mean, the
[Dr. Levy]clinical impact I've had by using these liposomes

(42:32):
[Dr. Levy]has has been enormous.
[Marie]You just said that it, in large doses,
[Marie]it isn't always absorbed. So those IVs that
[Marie]you hear about, the high dose vitamin c
[Marie]IVs,
[Bernadette]are those a waste of bacteria?
[Dr. Levy]But it's in the gut. When it's in
[Dr. Levy]the gut, it is not absorbed. It accumulates
[Dr. Levy]in the colon and causes anosmotic diarrhea, so

(42:53):
[Dr. Levy]you flush it out. But, no, you you
[Dr. Levy]you you take in everything when you take
[Dr. Levy]an IV. The the IV never causes a
[Dr. Levy]gut effect. It's only the oral vitamin c
[Dr. Levy]that causes the gut effect.
[Marie]So taking a lot of supplements all at
[Marie]once is not gonna
[Dr. Levy]Well, no. I mean, other other supplements don't
[Dr. Levy]share this quality with vitamin c. So no.
[Dr. Levy]I mean, for the most part, I mean,

(43:15):
[Dr. Levy]I take all my supplements all at once
[Dr. Levy]in the morning. It's not necessarily the best
[Dr. Levy]way to do it, but I know myself
[Dr. Levy]I can't do something three times a day.
[Marie]Right. Yeah.
[Dr. Levy]And then I got too many things going
[Dr. Levy]on. But I make sure I get it
[Dr. Levy]done first thing in the morning and Mhmm.
[Dr. Levy]And take it from there. Okay? And and
[Dr. Levy]the and the liposome vitamin c, if I
[Dr. Levy]live on, does not have the effect on

(43:38):
[Dr. Levy]the gut of causing a of causing a
[Dr. Levy]diarrhea or a loose stool because it virtually
[Dr. Levy]all gets absorbed before it gets there.
[Bernadette]And the liposome or liposomal, I don't is
[Bernadette]it both are both words correct?
[Dr. Levy]Yes. Okay. Okay.
[Bernadette]And so is it why is it so,
[Bernadette]so much more beneficial? And it because it's
[Bernadette]suspended in fat. Right? The the LivOn brand

(44:00):
[Bernadette]or any liposomal, I guess.
[Dr. Levy]It's literally it's literally an artificial man made
[Dr. Levy]cell. I mean, it's actually the same construct
[Dr. Levy]as a cell inside your body. The, phosphatidylcholine,
[Dr. Levy]by the technique that they use, encapsulates something
[Dr. Levy]that's water soluble, in this case, vitamin c,

(44:20):
[Dr. Levy]and then they have then they have the
[Dr. Levy]liposome wall, which is the same as the
[Dr. Levy]wall of every cell in your body.
[Bernadette]Mhmm.
[Dr. Levy]So it it all gets absorbed. And then
[Dr. Levy]once it gets into the bloodstream, rather than
[Dr. Levy]just get excreted in the kidneys like a
[Dr. Levy]lot of the vitamin c does, every cell
[Dr. Levy]it encounters, it's either small enough that it

(44:42):
[Dr. Levy]passes through the pores of the cell or
[Dr. Levy]it hits the cell wall, and then by
[Dr. Levy]a process of called reverse pyrocytosis, it opens
[Dr. Levy]up, merges with the cell wall, and pushes
[Dr. Levy]the vitamin c inside the cell.
[Bernadette]Wow. Well, are there any other, species on
[Bernadette]the planet that don't synthesize vitamin c like

(45:03):
[Bernadette]humans? Because I was reading that the chimpanzee
[Bernadette]and the human share about ninety nine point
[Bernadette]five percent of the evolutionary history. Are are
[Bernadette]there other species that are vitamin c deficient
[Bernadette]as well? Or is it just humans?
[Dr. Levy]Just just humans, guinea pigs.
[Bernadette]Guinea pigs.
[Dr. Levy]So guinea pigs. That's why they're guinea pigs

(45:26):
[Dr. Levy]because it's a lot easier to induce disease
[Dr. Levy]than something that doesn't make its own vitamin
[Dr. Levy]C. And so they make much better experimental
[Dr. Levy]models.
[Bernadette]Oh my gosh. Wow. That makes me sad
[Bernadette]though. Gosh. You know, I'm a big animal
[Bernadette]lover. I I don't I think there's better
[Bernadette]ways to experiment. I know a lot of
[Bernadette]people would disagree with me. I I think
[Bernadette]that animal laboratory or laboratory animals, I should

(45:49):
[Bernadette]say, are are not cool, for lack of
[Bernadette]a better word. I think that we are
[Bernadette]sophisticated enough that perhaps we could find a
[Bernadette]better way. What do you say to that,
[Bernadette]doctor Levy? And you won't hurt my feelings
[Bernadette]if you say I'm wrong.
[Dr. Levy]Guinea pigs make a great test animal because
[Dr. Levy]in a test animal, you want to be
[Dr. Levy]able to, induce a negative effect, cause an

(46:12):
[Dr. Levy]infectious disease, have a toxic effect. And even
[Dr. Levy]though they also experiment obviously in mice and
[Dr. Levy]rats, it's best with the guinea pigs because
[Dr. Levy]the mice and rats make their own vitamin
[Dr. Levy]c. So you have to always have that
[Dr. Levy]factor in the background when you're trying to
[Dr. Levy]interpret the results of your, of your experimentation.

(46:33):
[Bernadette]And so that's where the phrase don't be
[Bernadette]a guinea pig came from?
[Dr. Levy]Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[Bernadette]Who would've known? Oh my gosh. That's funny.
[Bernadette]Well, anything else that you want to share
[Bernadette]with our listeners before we wrap up this
[Bernadette]podcast today, doctor Levy? And again, it's been
[Bernadette]so great touching base with you and discussing
[Bernadette]all these incredible topics. There's so much to
[Bernadette]know about, our bodies and our health.

(46:56):
[Dr. Levy]Well, I think, the thing that I always
[Dr. Levy]say is, always realize that there's more politics
[Dr. Levy]in medicine than there isn't politics. Sad to
[Dr. Levy]say the truth.
[Bernadette]I know.
[Dr. Levy]And although it's a tremendously burdensome task to
[Dr. Levy]have to, shall we say, as an expression,
[Dr. Levy]be your own doctor, you have to take

(47:16):
[Dr. Levy]the time and energy to do your own
[Dr. Levy]research and not just blindly go to some
[Dr. Levy]doctor in the phone book and expect to
[Dr. Levy]be taken care of properly. So educate yourself,
[Dr. Levy]and if you have a doctor that won't
[Dr. Levy]answer your questions, in a friendly and intelligent
[Dr. Levy]fashion, that's the wrong doctor. And don't walk
[Dr. Levy]out of that office, run out of that
[Dr. Levy]office.

(47:37):
[Bernadette]With a prescription in your hand either. Right?
[Bernadette]Alright. Well, it's great. So great to, be
[Bernadette]on the air with you today, and I've
[Bernadette]hit the music. I am going to wrap
[Bernadette]this up. I encourage everyone to visit doctor
[Bernadette]Levy's, website. That's Tom Levy MD dot com
[Bernadette]and check it out. And your YouTube, what's

(47:59):
[Bernadette]the YouTube video again with you, doctor Levy?
[Dr. Levy]You just type in in the search box
[Dr. Levy]doctor Levy iron video.
[Bernadette]Alright. Doctor Levy iron video. I don't wanna
[Bernadette]I don't wanna wrap this up. I don't.
[Bernadette]I just could talk for about health forever.
[Bernadette]Hope you'll come back sometime soon. So much
[Bernadette]to know you guys out there. Thank you
[Bernadette]for listening. We love you. Take care of

(48:21):
[Bernadette]your health because your health truly is your
[Bernadette]wealth. Right, doctor Levy?
[Dr. Levy]Absolutely. Thanks for having me on.
[Bernadette]Of course.
[Dr. Levy]Take care.
[Bernadette]My pleasure. You take care as well. Everyone
[Bernadette]out there listening, you take care. And, remember,
[Bernadette]as I said, your health is your wealth.
