Speaker 1 (00:01):
You are.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
A what.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Yeh, Yes, it's way up with angela. Ye, happy Thursday.
It is almost the weekend, ladies and gentlemen, and boy
do we need that. I was up last night watching
Love Is Blind. You know, the first six episodes dropped.
I only made it through maybe like one and a half.
I feel like Love Is Blind normally starts off kind
of slow until there's a little bit of a group going. Dan,

(00:35):
you're not in your head. You were watching it too,
I did. I saw the first two episodes, and what
do you think so far?

Speaker 4 (00:40):
They definitely jumped right into it.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Yeah, And there were certain people you could always see
when they're going to really highlight certain people. What was
the guy's name? They keep talking about how much money
he has.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Everyone can't stand to him.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
He's like, I don't want people to like me for
my money. But then he's like telling everyone about how
he has so much money.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
He talks about it, his money and his rolex.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Yeah, it's ridiculous. And then what was the woman's Why
am I fuging Hannah?

Speaker 5 (01:04):
Is there her name?

Speaker 4 (01:04):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (01:05):
Okay? Yes?

Speaker 6 (01:07):
And also you noticed another guy said that he looks
like a famous actor. Now, so that spiral can begin.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
But just so you guys know, we're not going to
give you any spoilers. But there is one couple that
already proposed. He already proposed, so I feel like they're
like a cute that could. It felt like a genuine
more connection. But yeah, love is blind. I'm so excited
for it. But today we are going to be having
special guests on the show on the Rebel. That's a
cannabis event. It's a two day cannabis event. So anybody

(01:36):
interested in that industry, you are going to love this conversation.

Speaker 5 (01:39):
Unlet's shine a light eight.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Hundred and two, nine fifty one fifty call us up,
let us know who you want to spread some love
and positivity to. Its way up with Angela Ye.

Speaker 7 (01:49):
Turn your lights on, y'all spreading love to those who
are doing greatness.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
Light, shine light on.

Speaker 7 (01:57):
It's time to shine a.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Light on them.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
It's way up at the Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
I'm Angela Yee, and it's time for us to shine
a light. And today I want to shine a light
on David Stewart. He is the richest black man in America.
His net worth is an estimated eleven point four billion dollars.
Now he has a company and it's called Worldwide Technology,
is an IT management company. He's the founder and chairman
and he launched this back in nineteen ninety and today

(02:22):
it is a solution provider for over eighty fortune one
hundred companies. Some of the partners include Cisco, Navidia, Verizon,
and the federal government. They have an expertise in AI,
cloud networking, cybersecurity, data analytics, automation, digital transformation and all
of that. And he said his success is because of
the breadth and death of opportunities that we have here,

(02:44):
coupled with the culture that allows you to be all
you can be. He's seventy three years old, so congratulations
to him for landing on that Forbes four hundred list.
He is at number eighty four again with eleven point
four billion dollars. Now, who do you want to shine
a light on? Eight hundred two fifty Katya, Who do
you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 8 (03:03):
I want to shine the light on my eighteen year
old son, Omari. He own got the most improved students
in school. He brought up his dre and not only that,
I just had major surgery. And he told his friends
he cannot hang out for the next six weeks. He
has put me in the shower, clean my dressings. Oh wow,
he has tookn care of me.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Oh my gosh, that's amazing. You should be so proud,
I am. That means you raised him.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
I want to ask you how did he manage to
improve so much?

Speaker 5 (03:35):
What did he do? Kee done?

Speaker 8 (03:36):
Bought his gpao. He's not getting kicked out of class anymore.
And he's a high functioning.

Speaker 9 (03:42):
Artistic child.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
Okay.

Speaker 8 (03:43):
So I'm just so proud. I don't know because he
just matured because over the summer time, but I'm just
so proud of him.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
All right.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Well, I'm happy for you and I'm happy. Yes, surgery
went well.

Speaker 8 (03:55):
Thank you?

Speaker 5 (03:56):
All right, shout out to you. Oh mari Ya, Mama,
love you.

Speaker 8 (03:59):
Thank you, Angelie?

Speaker 5 (04:00):
All right, take care? All right?

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Well that would shine a light eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through, you
can still leave a message for last word. And when
we come back a yee t, let's talk about Beyonce's
cowboy Carter and some of her Country Music Awards snubs
that she's had. Okay, and we'll tell you one country
artist who is weighing in on what Beyonce should be doing.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
It's way up with Angela.

Speaker 7 (04:21):
Yee, they says in the rooms from industry shade to
all of gossip out send Angela's spilling that, yeet.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
It's way up.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
I'm here and may know it's not here, but my
producer Dan is here with me and we're doing yet.
And first off, let's talk about Beyonce's Cowboy Carter now
that is being submitted for the Grammys Country category, which
is gonna be We'll see what happens with that. But
one big conversation that's been happening is Beyonce and getting
snub from the Country Music Awards nominations even though her album,

(04:53):
which is a country album, Cowboy Carter, top the charts. Now.
Luke Brian said this on Andy Cohen Live on Sirius.

Speaker 10 (05:00):
Just because she made one a lot of great music's overlooks,
sometimes you don't get nominated. Everybody loved that Beyonce made
a country album. Yeah, yeah, but if you're gonna make
country albums, come into our world and be country with
us a little bit.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
All right.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
So that was his point about Beyonce not coming out
and high fiving everybody. Dan, what are your thoughts because
I know we were talking behind the scenes.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
Yeah, I think that's really interesting because she did not
start in country. If she started in country and was
like never going to all the award shows and stuff
like that, I would kind of disagree with him. But
I think he does kind of have a fair point. Now,
does it mean that she should be snubbed from the awards?
It's a that's a tough line to draw.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
See.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
This is where it's weird to me, because the reason
why she did the album right is because of her
experience going to the Country Music Awards and performing with
the Chicks. Yes, and then it turned into this whole
big thing where they took the they took the clips offline
and it was like something in support of Black Lives Matter.
They got mad at the Chicks for that. Yes, So
it feels like she did try to go and do
something previously and was met with all kinds of hate

(06:07):
and racism. Terrible experience, a terrible experience, and that's what
made her make this album. So to me, it's kind
of like, I'm gonna do what I want to do
and be in a genre that black people have always
been in. But you know, it's just a situation where
I can't imagine high five into people that were saying
all kinds.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Of crazy, but just a place devis advocate here.

Speaker 6 (06:29):
If a white person were to come into hip hop
doing a totally different genre of their entire career, would
they be.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
Accepted and they have? You know, people have done that.

Speaker 6 (06:38):
I mean like Post Malone is like an easy saber
he but he starts he's technically started in hip hop.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Yeah, I mean, listen, here's the thing for him to say,
this is our world.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
And you know, Beyonce's from Houston text for sure.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
For sure.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
I mean she grew up and everything. So I don't
know that you can claim a world like that. I
don't know, It's just a it feels. It was a
little weird to me and interesting just knowing how she
started off and how she did try to perform, and
knowing the backlash that she got, and knowing how country
music has traditionally been something where they were upset about

(07:13):
old town road.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
You know, just think about that.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
But I will say Shahboozi, his song a bar song Tipsy,
has become the biggest country hit of the decade globally,
So congratulations to him for that. You know that's a
big deal. All right, Well that is your yee t.
And when we come back, we have about last night.
That's where we discussed what we did last night. I
guess you and I can talk about Love Is blind

(07:35):
a little bit here because that's what I was doing yesterday.
It's way up at Angela Yee about last night is
next and this is where we belonged to in Paris.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
They don't own that world either. It's way up.

Speaker 7 (07:46):
So about last night, yes, I went down.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
All right, it's way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela
Yee and my guy Dan is here with me today
and I know both of us well before I started watching.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
Love Is Blae last night.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
I'm dealing with trying to purge things from my home
to finish moving because I still haven't. So yesterday I
was basically getting rid of close. I have so much
stuff it's ridiculous, but I've been I've been living in
that house for how long now, like eleven years.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
That's a lot of stuff. Eleven years worth of stuff.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
Going to sell a bunch of it?

Speaker 5 (08:23):
What can be?

Speaker 3 (08:24):
So the real real came by and picked up some things.
And then I have friends who have kids who are
going back to school. I have so many hoodies and
stuff like that, so, you know, it's nice. I like
to be able to give stuff to people who I
know will appreciate it and enjoy it.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
Yeah, maybe I'll come over with my fiance. Yeah, because
it's a shopping in the closet.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
When I tell you so much. But anyway, we also
then went home to watch Love Is Blind. Now, this
season is taking place in DC. I've not gone through
the first six episodes yet though, because I'm you know,
I'm a fan, but I'm not that much of a
super fan.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
So what did you think so far?

Speaker 4 (08:59):
H Hannah kind of bothers me. Sorry, Hannah.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
She keeps on talking about how hot she is.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
Yeah, and I.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Always think that's an interesting thing to do because you're
not supposed to focus on looks necessarily, but it's like
you're trying to give clues to have everybody be like, oh,
she's hot.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
She led off by saying, like, you know, I was
a cheerleader, I dated the quarterback, you know, stuff like that.
But also it's pretty cool. I don't know if you know,
Monica Diamond who works over at Elvis Duran. That's her cousin.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Oh, I always see Diamond in a bathroom. Oh okay,
that's why we both love this so much. Yeah, now Leo,
so we got to see if we can get her
up here absolutely all right, Now, Leo is somebody who
I was just rolling my eyes at the whole time. Now,
the women like him, but part of it is because
he keeps on talking about how much money he has.
He has his inheritance. He says he's an art dealer,

(09:46):
and yes, you know, I mean, right off the bat,
he talks about his money, and then he also, but
it's ironic, talks about fifty to fifty and you know,
one of the first questions is would you want to
split the bills fifty fifty?

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Yeah, you know.

Speaker 6 (10:01):
But it's all ironic because he said that how he
doesn't want women to be with him for his money.
But yet he leaves off every conversation by saying he
inherited all this money and has all this money and
his job is so lucrative.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
And here's my Rolex right right, all right, well, this
is gonna be interesting.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
This is in DC.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
Like I said, this season already there has been one.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
There's been one proposal.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
We're not going to give you too much on that
you'll figure out in case because I know everybody hasn't
seen it yet. But yes, and what do you think
about the people on this season?

Speaker 6 (10:32):
Though again I only saw like an episode and a half.
I kind of fell asleep in the second half of
the season.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
You say the Trump conversation, No, a conversation about politics
that's involving Monica.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
I did miss that, Okay.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Yeah, she's on a Dave with Steven and he talks
about how he voted for Donald Trump in twenty sixteen,
but then he voted for Joe Biden in twenty twenty
and so normally these are not conversations that are brought up.

Speaker 5 (10:54):
So it's an interesting one.

Speaker 6 (10:55):
I thought Brittany was an interesting character. She kind of
is like just playing like the dumb blonde role.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
Yeah, I can see that.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
And you know, this is in DC, so I'm sure
politics in the DMV area because so much happens in DC.
I can't see how this couldn't be something that gets
brought up. But anyway, we'll keep you guys updated. That
is about last night. Now we want to pick aside.
When we come back earlier, we were talking about Beyonce
and her album Cowboy Card and not getting nominated for

(11:25):
the Country Music Awards, and Luke Bryan weighed in.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
Here's what he said, just because.

Speaker 10 (11:31):
She made one a lot of great music's overlooks, sometimes
you don't get nominated. Everybody loved that Beyonce made a
country album. Yeah, yeah, but if you're gonna make country albums,
come into our world and be country with us a
little bit. Come do an awards show and high five
of us. They have fun and get in the family too.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
All right, Well, pick aside. What do you think about that?

Speaker 3 (11:54):
When it comes to Luke Brian talking about Beyonce getting
snubbed at the Country Music Awards, he feels like she
needs to come and shmoves a little. But you know,
to Beyonce's point, she did this album Cowboy Carter because
of how she was treated when she performed with the
Chicks at the Country Music Awards, and it was a
lot of racism and vitriol. They took the clip offline
and all kinds of things happened from that. So we

(12:15):
want to see what you think. Eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty. Does Luke Brian have a point
or does this feel a little weird to you like
it felt to me?

Speaker 5 (12:24):
All right?

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. Pick a side.
Its way up.

Speaker 7 (12:30):
It's not just right or wrong. It's about what you believe.
It's time to pick a side.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
And stay there, all right, it's way up at Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
I'm here and my producer Dan is here as well,
and we're talking about Luke Brian weighing in on Beyonce
being shut out of the Country Music Awards nominations even
though her debut country album, Cowboy Carter was at the
top of the charts. Here is what Luke Brian had
to say on Andy Cohen Live.

Speaker 10 (12:57):
Just because she made one a lot of great music,
it's overlooks. Sometimes you don't get nominated. Everybody loved that
Beyonce made a country album. Yeah yeah, But if you're
gonna make country albums, come into our world and be
country with us a little bit. Come do an awards
show and high five of us. You They have fun.
Get in the family too, all right.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
I've seen Dolly Parton weigh in on this and say
that she made a great album. Everybody in country music
welcomed her and thought it was good. It wasn't a
matter of shutting her out. It was just what the
country artists were doing, and it was not just for
a specialty album. And Kelly Clarkson has said that country
music is hard to break into. She said, I was
told at a lunch, if I didn't quit pop music

(13:39):
and just go country, I would not be played. And
she said, okay, no offense, but I'm not ever gonna
just pick one. Beyonce on her behalf, has said that
Cowboy Carter was an album that she made after an
experience where she did not feel welcomed and it was
very clear that I wasn't. But because of that experience,
she did a deeper dive into the history of country
music and study the Rich ror Rich musical archive, and

(14:03):
so that's what propelled her to actually go past these limitations.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
What are your thoughts.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
I think that she should have been nominated personally, and
do I think that she should have to go and
schmooze and do all other things. I understand her being
apprehensive because of how she was treated last time around
when she performed with the Chicks and they said all
kinds of racist things. I would have a little bit
of trauma from that. So it's a process. But what
do you guys think, Mike, do you agree or disagree
with Luke Brian?

Speaker 11 (14:29):
I think he kind of got a valid point. If
it was like somebody trying to get into the hip
hop world or the world and they was white, they
probably get more flex just like you know, post they
don't really get accepted it as much as they should
all the real music they make and theye.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Okay, so you think, no matter what, you still got
to go and play the game and schmooze a little.

Speaker 11 (14:52):
Yeah, I mean I was just he say, well, he's
staying to the hardest much because he do get a
valid point.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
All right, Well, thank you for your opinion for calling Hey, Jennifer, Hey,
how you doing.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
I'm good? How are you?

Speaker 5 (15:08):
I'm good? Thank you.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
What do you think about Beyonce versus Luke Bryan? He
thinks that she needs to come and high five everybody
at the Country Music Awards.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
No, absolutely not. She is from Texas.

Speaker 8 (15:21):
She doesn't need to smooth and high five high.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
Five everyone just because she She hasn't made a country
album before.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
What do you think Beyonce needs to do or should
she just not care?

Speaker 12 (15:34):
She doesn't need the care.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
I mean, this is the biggest country album of the year, right,
that's a fact.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
So it's kind of more a disservice to them that
they're doing these things.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Yeah, it's making them look bad. I think they're just
being racist.

Speaker 5 (15:50):
Okay, all right.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
I mean, listen, there was a lot of racism when
she did perform with the Chicks, and that was years ago.
And this is why she did the Cowboy Karter album
because of the backlast that she got when she did
that performance and the backlash that they got. It was
so bad they took the clip down off their site.
That's crazy. All right, Well, thank you for calling. Thank you, Hey, Leslie, Hey,

(16:12):
So what do you think about Luke Bryan and what
do you have to say about Beyonce and her not
getting nominated for a Country Music Award for Cowboy Carter.

Speaker 9 (16:20):
Well, I think that everything she does isn't award worthy.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
Okay, so you know I think she deserves it. No,
so you didn't like the Cowboy Carter album.

Speaker 9 (16:28):
It was all right, but award worthy?

Speaker 4 (16:30):
No?

Speaker 3 (16:31):
All right, So you don't think it has anything to
do with the fact that she's not in their world.

Speaker 9 (16:35):
Well, that's I think that sparsely has to do with it.
I think he's right that if she did a little
work smoothing it would probably help her, you know. But no,
I just lot of other Yeah, there's probably other people
too that didn't get nominated, but it didn't mean they
were shut out. It just you can't nominate everybody.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
No, I think it's just interesting because of all the
other nominations that she's gotten that, you know, this particular
award show did not nominate her so and I guess
because it got so much critical acclaim and it sold
so well.

Speaker 9 (17:04):
Right, well, I don't feel like she deserves all the
other nominations she gets either.

Speaker 5 (17:08):
So I just don't like Beyonce.

Speaker 9 (17:11):
I do not, Actually I don't, I can say in
her stub.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
All right, well thank you for calling. All right, thanks,
all right, I would have loved to know what she
does like. And when we come back, we have your
yee te Saucy Santana versus academics who knew this beef
was going to be going on and on and on,
But right now, let's shout out to Beyonce. Here is
Bonnie and Clyde, Beyonce and jay Z.

Speaker 5 (17:32):
It's way up.

Speaker 7 (17:33):
Sure, she's about to blow the lid ab off this butt.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
Let's get it.

Speaker 7 (17:35):
Oh yeah, Angelus billing that yee te Come and get
the tea.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
All right, it's way up with Angela. Yee I'm here
and it's time for.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
Your yee t.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Now it looks like Academics and Saucy Santana had some issues.
Academics had posted something about Saucy online, he said in
the in the caption sober back Guerrilla Saucy Santana trying
his best to let us know that Young Miami got
a new man after the alleged freak off escapades with Diddy.
What y'all think about all of that?

Speaker 5 (18:04):
All right?

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Not a nice caption. Uh, not a nice name to
call Saucy. We all know Academics and Young Miami have
not had the best relationship. Even though I feel like
he was supposed to go on Karesha. Please, right, Dan,
you remember that I do it didn't happen.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
No, it's not. And Academics and Saucy have had a
history of going back back.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
And forth, where Academics was like a little bit uh
was he crying like a little teary eyed over it.
I feel like, well, Saucy Santana then fired back the
way that Saucy only can't at academics.

Speaker 5 (18:36):
And here's what he said, nine o'clock in the morning,
you're talking about you was drunk.

Speaker 4 (18:40):
But what you're doing on my page?

Speaker 5 (18:43):
I told y'all, like, maybe find out you want my page? Yeah, yo,
more than would And who how dare you ever?

Speaker 13 (18:49):
Sylba bat you nickelback, quarterback, quarter pounder?

Speaker 3 (18:54):
He said, a lot more, but we can't put it
up here. Definitely sad, he said a lot more. Sauscy
is fun to me, though, I'm sorry, Like he's hilarious. Yeah,
all right, now, this is another funny story Will Smith.
According to Barry Sinenfeld, who directed the Men in Black movie,
he said that it was hard to work with him
and they actually had to leave set for three hours.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
Here's what happened.

Speaker 14 (19:18):
Will Smith is a farmer, and you really don't want
to be inside a very small, hermetically sealed space with
a Will Smith fart. We evacuated the stage for about
three hours.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
And not so fresh, Prince of Belle Air, huh, we
did do that the other day.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
When you farted in here.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
I did not fart in here.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
Nice try all right, and it would not be a
two hour or three hour evacuated the whole day, maybe
like five minutes.

Speaker 5 (19:45):
The wolves not at all, all right.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Russell Simmons owes three million dollars to three women, including
a sexual assault accuser, and he has not paid that settlement.
The money was due October first, and so now because
he has failed to pay, they are able to start
the collections process. Legal representatives for the women did not
respond to Variety's requests for comment, and neither did Russell Simmons.

(20:08):
But he did pledge to pay one point two sixty
five million each to Abrams and Aberneth think in five
hundred and fifteen thousand to Franco. And he also did
not admit any wrongdoing under these settlements.

Speaker 5 (20:19):
But then he didn't pay.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
So you know, you got to take care of that
because it's not going to go away. And Kenjack Lamar
is not like us. Has tied the record for the
longest running number one Billboard Hot raps on the number
one on the Billboards Hot Rap Songs Chart.

Speaker 5 (20:36):
Do you know what he tied with?

Speaker 4 (20:37):
I do not?

Speaker 5 (20:39):
All right?

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Well, he is tied with Little nas X and Billy
Ray Cyrus's Old Town Row that came out in twenty nineteen.
So it's now spent twenty weeks at number one, and
he's tied for the longest number one hit in the
chart's history. Feels like he's going to break that record.
All he has to do is one more week.

Speaker 4 (20:56):
Is he the goat?

Speaker 5 (20:58):
Is Kenjack Lamar the goat? I think at this point
in time.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Yeah, I mean the way that all of this went
down because of how he handled himself, and then even
hearing Don Cheadle talk about his experience with Kenjick Lamar
and what a perfection as he is, Yeah, I would
say he's he's a goat.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
I've been saying it for a long time.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
All Right, when we come back under the radar, these
are the stories that are not necessarily in the headlines.
They are flying under the radar and find out what
the issue is with products and small businesses that could
cause prices to go up.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
This does not have to do with the president, guys,
all right, it's.

Speaker 7 (21:31):
Way up that relates to you. These stories are flying
under the radar.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
Yes, it's way up with Angela yea I'm angela ye,
and it's time for these under the radar stories. These
stories are not necessarily in the headlines, but you definitely
need to know about it.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Now.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
It's gonna be harder to find products like bananas, electronics,
liquor because DOC workers at ports Fromina, Texas are on strike.
That's forty five thousand union workers who have walked off
the job after labor negotiations stalled. The strike is going
to cost the economy up to five billion dollars a day,
and that's going to hurt small and medium sized businesses,

(22:06):
but it could also boost prices for voters who are
already frustrated with housing and food inflation. According to experts,
any strike that lasts more than when we could cause
good shortages for the holidays, we could get the kind
of inflation for six months similar to our worse than
peak inflation level years ago. So just get ready for
that when you see things like perish boat, products like seafood,

(22:30):
electronics like cell phones and computers, pharmaceuticals, cars and auto parts, alcohol,
machinery parts, bananas, all of these things, and you know
the holidays are coming upon us, So just be aware
as you are figuring these things out. All right, Chicago
has been named the best Big City in the US
by readers of Conde Nas and this is the eighth

(22:53):
consecutive year that Chicago has been named the best big
city in the United States. And that is because of
choosing their favorite destinations and venues. It's also because of
the city's tourism, hospitality, and events community. So congratulations Chicago.
I was just there for my girl Chilla's birthday. Dan,
you've been to Chicago.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
Only once, but it was only for a short weekend.

Speaker 5 (23:15):
You like to eat too.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
As a foodie, I think you'll particularly enjoy it. I
love to go back, and a person who likes to shop,
I particularly enjoy it. All right, Well, that is you're
under the radar now, you know. We have the Way
Up mixed at the top of the hour, plus we
have the founders of On the Revel and the Revel
Read twenty twenty four event is upon us this weekend.
It's a cannabis business trade show and a cultural celebration

(23:39):
anybody who wants.

Speaker 5 (23:40):
To be in the cannabis business.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
This is such an important conversation that we're going to
be having for you guys.

Speaker 5 (23:45):
It's Way up she just likes.

Speaker 7 (23:47):
To talk like they am Jali Jean, like they am
Jeal Jean, and she's spilling it all. This is YEATI
way up.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
Yeah, it's way up with Angela. Yea, and it's time
for some yeat.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
And now.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Angela Simmons was recently talking about the situation with her
ex and how he was killed and how her son
found out. Her eight year old son, Sutton Joseph Tennyson Junior,
was asking questions about that, and she basically was on
Keicky Palmer's podcast, Baby This is Kecky Palmer discussing how

(24:22):
her son found out.

Speaker 13 (24:23):
He looks online. My father's son's mom like, she calls
me and she's like, I'm giving your head up. He's
asking how his dad got murdered and I'm like, oh
my gosh.

Speaker 15 (24:32):
What.

Speaker 5 (24:33):
So he gets on the phone and he's balling.

Speaker 13 (24:34):
He's like, I don't know why he's not here, but
why would somebody shoot him? Next day, he's like someone
murdered him and I'm like, what are you looking at?

Speaker 14 (24:41):
Baby?

Speaker 13 (24:41):
I'm like, you can't look online. But I just hated
that the internet told my son before I can tell him.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
Oh that's so tough.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
Like, imagine that's how your child finds out, and now
you got to explain that and it's already hard enough.
All right, Well, you know I love. We send our
love to Angela Simmons, into her family and to her son.
How Traded Truth is headed to help people affected by
Hurricane Helene. Parts of North Carolina have been devastated, and
we all know that the death toll is up to

(25:10):
one hundred and seventy six and there are still hundreds
of people missing. So here is what Trade the Truth
had to say.

Speaker 15 (25:18):
Ahar goals out to anybody who lost somebody. You know,
it's probably one of the biggest death tolls. In a
minute again, win route, DM Relief Gang, DM Relief Gang Carlos.
You know, just give us different info. We're just trying
to do it that we can't assist the people.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
All right, So he posted if you are in Greenville,
South Carolina and surrounding areas and need help with trees, rescues,
our other assistants DM AT Relief Gang, AT Relief Gang
Carlos with info picks and phone number.

Speaker 5 (25:46):
All right, and here's a Diddy update.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
So Diddy is facing one hundred and twenty new sexual
assault allegations, and according to reports, at least twenty five
of them are underage victims as young as nine, fourteen
and fifty team. So Tony Busby is the attorney who
is representing most of these victims, these alleged victims, and

(26:08):
so we'll continue to see what's going on.

Speaker 5 (26:10):
But I saw a.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
Report that Cassie was not pleased with all of the
jokes that people are making. A source told Daily Mail,
Cassie is hurt that people are making jokes and memes
out of the baby oil because of what it could
have been used for. It isn't funny to her anyone
who experienced similar. Cassie had heard mumblings about the class
action SUP but broke down in tears when she was
informed of the allegation about the child. She's planning to

(26:32):
take time away from receiving updates because it has sickened
her and she hopes that anyone who who was hurt
receives justice and peace of body and mind. And Cassie
has not spoken about Ditty's recent arrest because the case
is triggering for her, but she and her husband Alex
Vine are doing everything they can to protect their two
young children as the case is moving forward, see, and

(26:54):
that's something that we talked about before.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
We've seen things like this come.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Up previously with are Kelly and jokes that people made
and how the people who were affected by that. You know,
a lot of times that's not so funny to them.
We might be making jokes about it, like oh, what
do you think he was doing? And people have things
to say, but a lot of times those things aren't
funny when you're the person who is having to deal
with that. Is that something you think about, Dan? I
see you over there looking very I.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
Mean, it's just an awful situation, right, you have to
look like you know, she's probably reliving this every single day,
and every day there's more news, and there's more news,
and there's more stories, and there's more allegations, and you know,
it's got to be tough to lift.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Through this, especially to hear about these these little young
like a nine year old I saw and I think
it was in the post. They had a kid who
he's now like thirty, and he said when he was six,
he was present for some of these parties with the
naked girls running around and drugs being used, and he
even they had a picture of him with Diddy when

(27:50):
he was like sixty years old, and the parents, I
guess got him out of there though they left. I
think they said at like nine thirty before anything popped off.
All right, well that is your yes, and when we
come back, we have asked yee. Eight hundred and two
ninety two fifty one fifty is a number. Call us
up any question you have. We're here to help.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
Here's Killani. It's way up with it's.

Speaker 7 (28:10):
Relationship or Koreer advice. Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
You should know if this is ask ye, what's up?
This way up with Angela Gee? I'm Angela Yee and
it's time for ask ye. Any question you have, you
know I'm here to help you out. Now I have
Sasha on the line. Hey, Sasha, Hikeee, what's up?

Speaker 5 (28:26):
Okay girl, how you doing?

Speaker 15 (28:28):
You know?

Speaker 1 (28:29):
Another day?

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Another dollar, I know, or another twenty All right, so
what's your question today?

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (28:36):
So I originally from Orlando, but I've been living in
New York for like ten years. My rest of my
family is in Orlando. It's put it between like Orlando
and Miami. And I finally got like I just closed
on the house. Congrass I really want thank you so much.
I know that you're big on home ownership. Yes, I am,
and I really want my family to do the holidays

(28:57):
this season at my spot. Since I've been living in
New York, I've been going down to Orlando all the
time to they'll spend it with my family. My sister
has kids. Boy, I'm having trouble on how to ask
them for them to come up here.

Speaker 5 (29:11):
So what happens when you ask them or when you
propose that.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
I haven't yet. My parents are Caribbean. They're really strict.
It's like their ware the highway.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
And I'm sure because you're the only one here, it
is more difficult for everybody to travel. But you have
to make it seem like a little treat and a
little vacation. Is there anybody in your family who you
could have on board in your corner so that when
you guys propose this it sounds exciting and fun.

Speaker 9 (29:38):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
I have two sisters. My other youngest sister, she's actually
considering coming to college in New York. I was thinking about, well,
maybe if you come out here, we can see NYU.
Maybe she wants to like kind of do a college
tour type of thing.

Speaker 5 (29:53):
Right, and you have Caribbean parents.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
I know they big on college, okay, and so I
would say get the sisters on board first. They're ready
to like go and get their flights. And it also
can double as if we can go see NYU. You
know she wants to go to NYU, so we can
be supportive of that and get them on board. So
when you guys propose this, it's more like, listen, we
were thinking this year, since I just bought a house,

(30:16):
it could be like an amazing housewarming. I would be
so appreciative for you guys to come and see where
I'm at, and I want to take care of you
because you guys have done so much for me every
single year every time I come out there.

Speaker 5 (30:26):
Now I want to return that.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
And I also want to have my sister go and
look at school, and we can be supportive of that.

Speaker 5 (30:31):
At the same time we are persuasive.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Lady and says, so I need y'all to spend Christmas here.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
Yeah, spend Christmas here, and then let them know. Look,
have some plans and things ready to go. Not too
much because you know, we hate a full lot tenerary.
But maybe there's like a Broadway play. You guys could
go see that they can only do if they come
to New York. Maybe you guys plan like to go
see the tree, whatever it is that you want to do.
So if you can make it seem like it's going
to be like a fun trip for everybody, but also

(31:00):
productive but also great for you. You bought a home,
Let me take care of you.

Speaker 5 (31:05):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
All you got to do is get on the plane
and come here. I got everything else.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
Yes, well, thank you so much. This is great.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
All right, I'm coming over to.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
Hey lie you want to take out though?

Speaker 3 (31:17):
All right? All right, well, thank you for colling and
good luck. Thanks all right, well, good luck to that.
And another big thing that's happening in New York is
on the Level the revel re event is this weekend.
If you love marijuana, cannabis, if you have a business,
if you're thinking about getting into business, or maybe you
just like to smoke, this event is amazing. We have
the founders of on the Revel joining us. But this

(31:39):
is something you can also do virtually. This is a
community that you can join online and we want to
make sure you're aware of it.

Speaker 5 (31:45):
It's way up with angela ye, will we go upgain.

Speaker 7 (31:48):
This is way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
What's up is way up with Angela Yee, And I
mean way up, like up really really high. And we
have the founders of on the Revel. We have Lulu
Sway here and we had Jacobe Hallan. Thank you guys
for joining us.

Speaker 4 (32:04):
Thank you, Honor. Super excited to be here with you.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
I'm going to be joining you this weekend and this
on the Revel, This Revel re event is a huge
deal and this is all about cannabis business to business operations.
This is a great way for people to connect. But
this is a very inclusive event as well. So let's
talk about this started eight years ago, and think about
what the cannabis industry was like eight years ago in
New York to where we are today.

Speaker 12 (32:29):
Yeah, back then, there was actually just a medical program.
There was a lot of suits and finance bros. And like,
you know, I'm a half black male, I was in
my twenties who was a Chinese woman, and like, we
just have a different experience with cannabis and our community,
and so when we would go to these events, we
weren't reflected, right, And that was so early in New
York's legalization process that you know, we've kind of grown

(32:50):
with the industry and it's cool to see that, Like
the industry doesn't have to be all finance bros.

Speaker 4 (32:54):
Like this is cannabis. We're talking about spoken weed.

Speaker 12 (32:56):
Like there's people of every type that want to be
in part of this industry and their space for them.

Speaker 3 (33:01):
It's so amazing to me to see something that was
so stigmatized, that was criminalized that now those very same
people are like, how can I invest in this business?
And I'm doing X, Y and Z even you know
with mushrooms. Mushrooms used to be something that people would
look at you so crazy, like you did what, Oh
my god, you're a druggie yea. And now everybody's like,

(33:22):
do you have some micro dosi? Micro dose rooms all
the time. It's just the funniest thing to see how
stuff is changing.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
Right now I'm talking to the co founders of On
the Revel, Jacobe Holland and Lulu Sway. We're talking all
things cannabis. So what can we expect from I know
day one and day two of this two day on
the Revel re events.

Speaker 5 (33:41):
What's day one?

Speaker 16 (33:42):
So Day one is our Buyer's Club which is our
trade show. This is where we do heavy vetting, so
operators come through. So this is connecting the stores with
the brands and the cultivators and the distributors and the processors.
So we have about one hundred and eighty brand on
day one that's huge, and about two hundred and fifty

(34:04):
retail stores. Day two is festival. That's where you're coming
to speak. We have music, we have Joey Badass.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
Yeah, my Booklyn Brother Joey Badass is going to be performing.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
So it's our public day.

Speaker 16 (34:14):
So people who are interested in cannabis, consumers of cannabis,
wanting to learn about how to enter the cannabis market,
as you know, an entrepreneur or someone that wants to
work in the field come through.

Speaker 12 (34:26):
The whole point of Day two is for the attendees
to come through and take their time learning about all
the products there.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
You can try product there.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
I feel like this would be a really peaceful event toge.

Speaker 12 (34:36):
Yeah, we're all going to be nice and it's amazing
like vers like alcohol.

Speaker 4 (34:40):
You see, everybody's just happy. It's just all love like
it's great.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
And for people who aren't here, you guys also do
have an online community. So I want to make sure
that anybody who can't make it this weekend for whatever reason,
they can still participate in and know what's going on.

Speaker 12 (34:55):
One of our core things is like democratizing all the information.
So if you want to start a dispensary, you want to,
you know, go legit from being an illegal underground cultivator
to going you know, above board. All the information, all
of our speakers, it's free. We put it all online.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
All right, Well, you guys, thank you so much. I'm
really excited to be there this weekend. It's nice to
see how how far we've come. I know we still
have a lot left to do, but thank you for
the work that you guys have been doing and trying
to make sure that this is something that can be
more fair and more equitable for people. And how can
people get tickets if they still haven't gotten them and

(35:29):
they want to come out?

Speaker 12 (35:30):
Yeah, to get tickets, go to revelry andy dot com.
You're gonna want to get the Cannabis festival tickets with
a code. Right, Oh yeah, yeah, we got we got
a code. We got a code way up twenty for
twenty percent off on CANbus festival time.

Speaker 14 (35:44):
I like this.

Speaker 5 (35:45):
Yeah, we servicing people. Way Got twenty is the code
Way Up twenty.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
You can watch that for interview on my YouTube channel,
Way Up with You when we come back.

Speaker 5 (35:52):
You guys have the last word.

Speaker 7 (35:54):
The phone Tappy going to get your voice heard.

Speaker 5 (35:57):
What the word is the word on Way Up with Angela?

Speaker 15 (36:01):

Speaker 5 (36:02):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (36:02):
Its way up at Angela yee? And it is Thursday.
You know what that means? Tomorrow's Friday? And dan Is is
your girlfriend's birthday this week? Your fiance r Yonce her
birthday this weekend on the sixth. All right, well, happy
birthday to Rita. I have a gift for her too.
By the way, really you're gonna love this. This Valentino beauty.
It's a Spike Valentino buttery Matt lip color. I use

(36:24):
it all the time, and it's the type of color
that looks good on anybody.

Speaker 15 (36:28):
You know.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
I like all different like shades of different types of
nuds with a little bit of color. And the packaging
this is what makes it really look like a gift.
It's a full studded gold aluminum packaging. It looks really special.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
So I really appreciate that. Thank I got you. That's
really nice.

Speaker 5 (36:43):
You know Rita has good taste other than her men nice.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
But anyway, jingle Ball is happening in Atlanta. That's going
to be on Thursday, December nineteenth, twenty twenty four. What
a good time, right before the high right before New

It's at State Farm Arena. And once again thank you

the YouTube channel.
