Speaker 2 (01:51):
Jina JJ Patton right, and software engineering author Antoine Patton.
They have a book called Dear Dad, Growing Up with
a Parent in Prison and How We Stay Connected that
came out in September. But it's a graphic novel and
it talks about her life growing up with the dad
in and out of prison. She said she remembers her
dad being in prison as far back as nine years old,
growing up in Buffalo, New York with her mom and

(02:13):
younger brother. She only went to visit him twice, but
they did send each other a lot of letters. But
they ended up developing an app. It's a photo patch
app to connect children with incarcerated parents, and that was
inspired by her own experience with her father. So it's
free communication for families with imprisoned parents.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Oh wow, that's a beautiful thing.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Imagine that something that inspired you, that is able to
help so many other people. Her experience as a kid
and having to deal with her father and then writing
a book about it as well. And so shout out
to JJ Patton and her father Antoine. They have also
Generation Impact, the Coder to new short film series that
spotlights young entrepreneurs using technology to break barriers.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
They were featured on that as well. They founded Unlock Academy.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
It's an in person and online coding school that mentors
young people interested in STEM careers.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
That's awesome. I love to see father and daughters working together.
I could bare to get my daughter to give me
a hug these days.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
I can't blame her. All right, Well, Amanda, who do
you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 7 (03:14):
I wanted to shine a light on me and my children,
but I'm actually here at work and I think I
want to shine a light on my ladies here in
the cafeteria.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Okay, all right, talk to us.

Speaker 7 (03:23):
Well, we're we served an elementary. We save about seven
hundred students a day. But they're just really hard workers.
They all just show up every day and do their best,
and I really appreciate them. And I think there's a
lot of discredit towards the cafeteria ladies.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
I always have loved the cafeteria ladies growing up. All right, well,
shout out to all of you guys for working so hard.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
It's such an important job. We appreciate it.

Speaker 7 (03:45):
Thank you, missie.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
You have a great day.

Speaker 7 (03:46):
Happy holidays.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Thank you you too, Happy holidays. All right, Well, that
was shining light. Eight hundred and two nine two fifty
one fifty is a number. If you couldn't get through,
you could still leave a message that way. And when
we come back, jay Z, we'll talk about this Aki
and what his response is said. He don't be responding
to stuff, no worry, so you know this is serious
for him, like donuts me or my name and I
know Blue Ivc's all this all right, Well, we got

(04:10):
yet when we come back, it's way up.

Speaker 6 (04:12):
This says proof in the rooms from industry shade to
all of gossip.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
How Angela's spiling that et.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
It's way up And Angela, yee, I'm here beat out here, Well,
it was beat.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Out whe else? Would I be where else?

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Because we got to talk about these jay Z allegations today, huh. Now,
we talked about this earlier when the show first started,
about people feeling like it's irresponsible for black media to
be reporting on this the way that it is. But
it's not taken aside. It's reporting on what's happening. And
jay Z has responded. So, jay Z is being sued
for drugging and raping a thirteen year old girl in

(04:46):
a lawsuit that's also tied to Diddy. If you guys recall,
this was originally a lawsuit that was filed in October.
This woman says that Diddy and an unnamed celebrity assaulted
her while an unnamed female watch. We don't know who
that unnamed female that she's alleging did this is, but
now the accuser has named jay Z as the other
celebrity in this alleged assault.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
We have to keep on saying this is all alleged.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Now, jay Z's reps, Rock Nation, did post a comment.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
They did a statement.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
I said, my lawyer received a blackmail attempt called the
demand letter from a lawyer named Tony Busby. You know,
Tony Busby represents a lot of these women who are
also alleging that did he sexually assaulted them. What he
had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the
public scrutiny would make me want to settle, No, sir,
it had the opposite effect. It made me want to

(05:36):
expose you for the forge you are in a very
public fashion. So no, I will not give you one
red penny. These allegations are so heinous in nature that
I implore you to follow a criminal complaint. Not a
civil woman, whoever would commit such a crime against the
minor should be locked away. Would you not agree these
alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.

(05:57):
This lawyer, who have done a bit of research on
teams to have a pattern of these type of theatrics,
and so jay Z's statement goes on to say, my
only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I
will have to set our children down, one of whom
is at the age where her friends will surely see
the press and ask questions.

Speaker 5 (06:14):
Like you said, you know, as broadcast as we have
to be objective in our reporting. Boy, if you believe this,
I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you well.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Tony Busby has since responded regarding the jay Z case
and his efforts to silence my clients. Mister Carter previously
denied being the one who sued me in my firm.
He filed his frivolous case under a pseudonym. What he
fails to say in his recent statement is my firm
census lawyer a demand letter on behalf of an alleged victim,
and that victim never demanded a penny from him. Instead,

(06:42):
she only sought a confidential mediation. Now I did a
deep dive yes to find out what a confidential mediation
is exactly. And it's a process where all communications, discussions,
and negotiations are protected from disclosure, so nothing said or
shared during mediation can be used as evidence in court
or shared with outside parties without consent. It's considered essential

(07:04):
to the effectiveness of mediation the confidentiality part. The mediator
is also bound by confidentiality restrictions, and then the notes
are destroyed after the mediation is complete and there's no
formal rules of evidence, there's no witnesses. It's a quick
way to resolve a dispute. Often taking less time than
an investigation.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
I like how Jay responded, especially with the last sentence.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
He's how I look forward to showing you how different
I am because Tony Buzzby, in my opinion, is illegal.
He's a glorified legal aid and his track record is
more than suspect.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Well.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Tony Buzzby went on to say, I'm still that guy.
I won't be bullied or intimidated. People will see through
this effort to discredit me and my clients, and the
truth will be revealed. I also won't allow anyone to
scare my clients into silence. And he said sunlight is
the best disinfectant and quite certain the sun is coming.
Fifty cent chimed in and he just posted, Okay, I
don't know what's going on, but are we going to

(07:58):
still have the Super Bowl? I'm just asking for friend
And you know he's been having things to say about
jay Z blocking him from trying to block him from
performing at the Super Bowl previously. Meek Mill is also
weighing in on all of this. Of course he is yes,
so he wants to make sure that he's able to
help and assist with jay Z. The goal is to

(08:19):
start a false narrative to create a matrix web. If
you can control the storyline, you can control the matrix.
American media is totally unbelievable. I see jay Z, a
thirteen year old girl three hundred times scrolling. It's called
programming matrix web.

Speaker 8 (08:32):
Mee.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Sounds like Morpheus right now?

Speaker 2 (08:33):
All right, well that is your yeeee. When we come back,
we have about last night. That's where we discussed what
we did over the weekend. But right now let's get
into some Rihanna and jay Z. Marilla is way up.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
So about last night, Yes, I went down.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
All right, it's way up with Angela. Yee, I'm here.
And of course, my guy, beat I is what'd you
do over the weekend? Beat Up?

Speaker 1 (09:00):
I didn't do much.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
I mean last night though, I just stayed at the
crib and I did a deep dive in the in
the bathroom.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
I cleaned the back.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
I was like it took a colonic No. No, no,
I just scrubbed the tub, drop the kids off at
the pool.

Speaker 8 (09:15):
No.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
I was cleaning like an legal housekeeper.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
So uh, there's nothing nicer than having your house super clean. Yes,
by the way, best fail you having company or something?

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Just why black people you know, you gotta be doing
so they can't be hygienic men.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Okay, let's be clean.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
By the way, so I've been getting a bit into
the holiday spirit. Okay, So I was listening to some
by the way, I was telling you guys earlier, I
loved Jesse Ray is his new Christmas song, Santa's Fake
just like most people. Marry Nothing is the name, Marry
Nothing like a Grinch. That's a merry Christmas song. But
I also did watch this b et plus holiday movie

(09:55):
is called Style Me for Christmas starring Mario all Right.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
I don't know if you had a chance to see that.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
I barely have a television what but are you recommending
it to me?

Speaker 2 (10:06):
If you, I'm like, you know, Christmas movies are always
what they are, but feel good thing, all right?

Speaker 3 (10:13):
And it was.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Yeah, so I watched the whole thing. I was entertained
while I was watching it.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
My favorite Christmas kind of movie is like die Hard
or like that. That's a Christmas movie?

Speaker 9 (10:21):
Right?

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Is that considered a Christmas movie?

Speaker 10 (10:24):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Yeah, see I would never have looked at it that way.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
There you go. And also like Home Alone as well,
So those are like my favorite.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Okay, home alone. I see that. My favorite Christmas movie.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
I want to say, of course, I like The Grinch,
The Grinch, Yes, yeah, I mean one.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
I like a Christmas Carol.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Christmas Carol. There's a move called Christmas Carol.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Oh Scrooge, Oh Screwge.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Okay, you know it is Scrooge. You know the other
thing I did.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
I'm glad you said that because I also have the
Christmas Carol book. But over the weekend, you know, I've
been trying to get my house together, and I ordered
these bookshelves back in like June, and they finally showed up.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
So I was going through a bunch of books that
I have.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
I have bookshelves like all over in my house, but
these are my main bookshelves.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
I love them. I'm gonna post a picture of them.
They're very flap because they are amazing. I love them.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
But anyway, I was looking through all of the books
I have, and it took me so long to put
things away because I was like really like flipping through things,
reminiscing the variety of books that I own. It's crazy.
I have Are You Still a Slave? By Shahrazad Ali?

Speaker 3 (11:27):
Have you read that?

Speaker 2 (11:28):
No?

Speaker 1 (11:28):
I have that I'm living it.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
It's all the biographical but anyway, just a lot of
different books. I have all of the Nicky Turner books, Streetlet,
all of the Zane Presents books. But then I have
every Shakespeare play. Wow, I'm very versatile, y'all get both?
All right, Well, tell us a secret when we come back.
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
It is a number. You know what time it is.
It's time for you to tell us something.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
There's no judgment, right, we listen and don't judge a
little bit. Tell us a secret. Eight hundred two fifty
one fifty. Any secret that you have, you're anonymous, beat
out and I are not here to judge you.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
We're just here to be good listeners. It's way up, Oh,
way up.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
This is a judgment free zone.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Tell us a secret.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
It's way up at Angeloue. I'm here, beat out here.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
Well, beat out.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
How you whispering, because it's tell us his secret. And
that's how you tell secrets. You whisper.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
You don't scream them these days people screamshot them.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Those two.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Well, we want to hear your secrets, and we're not
gonna judge you. And you get to remain anonymous. It's
eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty anonymous.

Speaker 8 (12:32):
Carlaire.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
What's your secret?

Speaker 11 (12:34):
So me and my fiance is getting married next year, Well,
me and his brother has been having an affair and
I love him more, but I don't know how to
tell him.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
You're having a favor with your fiancees brother. You're getting
married next year, but you love his brother more?

Speaker 11 (12:45):
Yes, I feel like he's my soulmate.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Well let's start with let's not get married next year,
let's keep it all in the family.

Speaker 11 (12:53):
Well, I still want to get married, just not to him,
but to his brother.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
Okay, can you come to the wedding question? So how
did this start?

Speaker 11 (13:00):
Well, his brother and I we went to high school together,
so he pretty much introduced me to his brother, and
then from there we just been going DA didn't on
it off, and then we finally decided, you know, we
wanted to be together. But I truly feel in my
heart he's not the one I want to be with.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
You make me want to leave the one i'm with.
Did you always have a thing for his brother?

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Originally it's always for him.

Speaker 11 (13:22):
He's always for my priority. I feel like secretly I
just wanted to be with his brothers, just like to
stay closer.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Wow, you been with that?

Speaker 11 (13:30):
I know it's wrong. Well we've been together for a
year and a half.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Okay, I'm we're not here to judge you.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
We listen and don't judge, but I will say that
you should just, at the minimum, don't marry somebody you're
not in love with.

Speaker 11 (13:44):
Right, But it's not going to work out because if
I do decide to be with the brother, the family
won't to spet me.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
You ain't got to be with either one of them,
But don't be with the person you don't. I can't
even imagine being married to somebody who I love their brother.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
For real, at least you know before you got married.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Does the brother have the same feelings for you that
you have for.

Speaker 11 (14:00):
Well, he tells me all the time he's going to
come clean. He fancies loved me, he always loved me,
but he don't want to hurt his brother.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
This is like the five heartbeats.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
But yeah, if his brother tells, it's gonna tear the
family apart, are you ready for that?

Speaker 11 (14:14):
I think we way beyond that point. I think I'm
ready to tell.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
Okay, I didn't tell, but maybe, yeah, should you do
it before Christmas?

Speaker 1 (14:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 11 (14:24):
What do you think if.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
You do it before Christmas?

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Don't go to that particular gathering his brother.

Speaker 11 (14:31):
And now we're going to brunch right now, so I
guess I'll wait.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Maybe you think his brother should tell him first, or
she should.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
I think, you know, we should do it before the
New year, new slate, wipe it clean.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
If it was me, I would break up with my
fiance now, like before the holiday. And I don't know
that I would tell him why right away, because what
if it doesn't work out?

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Right? But then what if he sees her with him?

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Then you tell? I think eventually, But I think first,
let's break up and get that out the way. Or
would you do it all at once?

Speaker 11 (15:01):
I don't know. I feel like I just have to
let this peep it go onto the conoqueen, Let's see
what the universe. Let's happened, all right.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Don't keep that engagement going though, Yeah, definitely don't do that.
Don't spend them holidays with someone you don't want to
be with.

Speaker 11 (15:13):
You're right, you're right, Thank you so much, all right, good.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Luck, see me, listen, and don't.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
Judge, sounds like one of those stories from one of
your novels that you put up on your bookshelving.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Yeah, that's definitely what would that would that be called?
That's a two B movie?

Speaker 3 (15:27):
All right?

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Well, if that was tell us a secret eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through,
you can always call us up and leave a message
that way, and when we come back, we have your
yee t.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
And let's talk about Neo.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
He is responding now to people who are challenging his
polyamorous lifestyle.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Will tell you what he had to say. It's way up.

Speaker 4 (15:45):

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Neo was on the Gold Dimes podcast and he wants
you to know he don't care if you have an
issue with his polygamous lifestyle.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
Here's what he had to say.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
A lot of women try to like, shame you for
feeling like that.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Oh, you can't shame me unless I care.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
I so desperately need the world to know how much
of a I don't give about what they think, about
what they say.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
Like, I am one locked into the reality that.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
This life is mine and I to live this the
way I want to live it. Okay, well, one woman
is expensive to our dependence.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
Well do you well he likes a miss you know independent?

Also heard Denzel he was nominated as well.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
What was Denzel nominated? Support Ladiator? Too okay? Good for Dinner.
I'm trying to look through all of these because they
were just announced.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
That'd be awesome.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Oh my god, I would love that for him. We
love us some, Denzel, don't we give hm motivational speech?
Oh yeah, Denzel? Best Performance by a mal actor. All right,
well that is your yeetie. When we come back, we
have under the radar. These are the stories that are
not necessarily in the headlines. They are flying under the radar,
but you definitely need to know about them now. No,
I try to do other things, but we got to
talk about some of the things that Donald Trump is
saying that he plans to do once he is in office.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
It's way up.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
News.

Speaker 6 (19:39):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar, all right.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
It's way up with Angela Yee, I'm here beat out
here all right. Now, his first interview since the election,
this is under the radar, Donald Trump told NBC News
Meet the Press that and I think we all knew
this that he's planning to part in the January sixth rioters.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
And here's what he had to say.

Speaker 12 (20:03):
I'm going to be acting very quickly within your first
one hundred days, first day, first day.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
These people have been there, how long is it three
or four years?

Speaker 6 (20:11):
And they're in a filthy, disgusting place that shouldn't even
be allowed to be open.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
Jill sucks, hm.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
I mean they did something illegal though, right, well, so
shouldn't they be in a place. I mean, do you
care about other people who are in filthy places or
maybe cleaning up the jail so they're not filthy, but
they're really a place that's going to rehabilitate people.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
Isn't that what it's supposed to be.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
Well, it's good for the gooses and good for the gander.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
All right. Now.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
Trump is also saying that he plans to end birthright citizenship,
and he says American citizens with family here illegally.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
May be deported.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
So even if I was born here and I'm a
citizen but my parents weren't, they could deport me as
well as you know, well, I would be going with
my family, because the main thing here is you don't
want to rip families apart.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 12 (21:00):
You've promised to end birthright citizenship on day one. Is
that still your plan?

Speaker 4 (21:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 12 (21:05):
The fourteenth Amendment, though, says that quote all persons born
in the United States are citizens. Can you get around
the fourteenth Amendment? Within this can change?

Speaker 4 (21:13):
Would maybe have to go back to the people.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
But we have to end it with the only country
that has it. I was going to do it through
executive action, but then we had to fix COVID first.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
To be honest with you, it's a controversial topic.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
I we're not the only country that has it, well,
one of the few, Yeah, Canada France. Most Latin American
countries also have that as well.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
We are a nation of I.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Can't imagine if I've been living here for fifteen years
and this is the only place I know. I was
born here, lived here my whole life, went to school here,
all my friends were here, and now I'm told my
parents have to move back and I have to leave
a place where I've lived my whole life.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
I guess the parents should have that's the right way.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
To That's really difficult to say, you know. So, and
some people have been waiting a really long time to
get their citizenship because it's a long and expensive process.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
It's not cheap.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
So imagine you're already here, you can't even work to
get the money that you need to pay for that process.
Oh man, we had this woman up here who was
talking about the issues that she went through when she
was trying to get her citizenship and having to pay
a lawyer, and how her lawyer raped her and she
never told anybody because she didn't feel she felt powerless. Yeah,
I mean, that's awful, the things that people have to

(22:19):
go through and the money that it costs to even
try to do things.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Even talking to people like hood celebrity.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
If you watch the interview that I did with her
when she talked about the issues that she went through
just being here until she was able to get her
a citizenship and how people took advantage of the fact
that she couldn't work, she couldn't go to school, she
couldn't get a car, things were not in her name.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
It's not an easy process.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
That's complicated for sure.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
All right, Well that is you're under the radar now,
you know. We have the Way It mixed at the
top of the hour plus starring in Trap City.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
This is his movie. Brandon T.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Jackson is going to be joining us alongside Telga Nation,
who is the person that actually funded and directed this movie.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
It's coming out on Friday. It's way up. It's a tout.

Speaker 13 (23:00):
They Angela like they angela man.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
She's spilling it all. This is yet.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Way it's way up at Angela. Yee, I'm here beat
out t Let's get into this yet. But first breaking
news what a person of interest is being detained in
the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Law enforcement

(23:27):
sources are telling TMZ this is a man in Altoona, Pennsylvania,
who's being held in uh for questioning and connection.

Speaker 8 (23:35):
Mmm.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
So they said that local police responded they got a
tip a person of interest was seen in the McDonald's.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
He had a similar gun as the one used in
the murder.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
And so the story is still developing, but we will
keep you updated as news is coming.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
In Olivia and Stable would a found of days ago.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
People are like, how could something like this happen? They
have pictures they have that they have this and that. Okay,
Now Yandy Smith is blasting men DC JUNR for spray
painting cheater on her car.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
It was a prank for YouTube. And here's what happened.
Some things you just don't play with.

Speaker 14 (24:09):
So guess who's on punishment now, and guess who has
to give my car a car wash inside and out
then has to work at the restaurant tomorrow nine am
at the restaurant tomorrow. Because it's some things you don't
play with. You don't play YouTube for my car. So
now YouTube jokes on you.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
Shout in Andy, shout labor.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
She was trying to breathe, like, let me calm it down,
but it did wipe right off.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
Still, man, it's a YouTube prank. These kids these days.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
At least it wasn't real spray paint all right now, Keishako,
speaking of kids these days, she says that her son
DJ spend quite a bit of money on some video games. Yes,
and here is what she had to say about that.

Speaker 10 (24:49):
The lady came and told me, you know, DJ spent
eighteen thousand dollars this year on games.

Speaker 14 (24:55):
I said, what how do you even do that?

Speaker 3 (25:00):
The past?

Speaker 1 (25:00):
My mother knows adoption, that's the only reason.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
The other thing, I will say, maybe he could make
some video some money being a gamer, and then it
all makes sense.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
It's an investment.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
My daughter extorts me for those roadblocks games all the time.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Yeah, eighteen thousand dollars, sh all right? And Jay Cole
has for the ten year anniversary of twenty fourteen Forest
Hills Drive. Right, it's been ten years, I believe it.
He has eight unreleased songs that he has now released.
It is behind a paywall, so you want to get it, Yes,

(25:34):
you have to go to Inevitable Dot Live. It was
available at noon today. So those songs are called Home
Soon Die Together. Judgment Day went to Wonderland, Keep having Dancing,
Miles black Man in Hollywood and obviously.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
I'm looking forward to going to the concert next week.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
So it's out right now. So you got your tickets.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
I don't, but we're going to figure that out.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Is just putting it in the atmosphere into existence, right,
looking forward to it.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
You're going with Tagco. Yeah, I don't know if he's
cool with me anymore.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
What did you do to him?

Speaker 1 (26:03):
You know, success man.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Saying he acting different?

Speaker 1 (26:06):
No, no, no, it's all love.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
And so love.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Are you seeing your success?

Speaker 1 (26:10):
So stop it? Look at you Angela?

Speaker 3 (26:12):
All right?

Speaker 2 (26:13):
And Jalil White was recently talking about he was at
Wilmington Library and he was talking about how he feels
left out when it comes to the legacy of black
entertainment and family matters and how it would rank last
behind all of these favorite black shows.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 9 (26:29):
Being a part of the TGIF brand makes you feel
like you don't completely belong in the pantheon of blackness.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
You know, blackness has been treated as a very monolithic.

Speaker 9 (26:40):
Experience in entertainment. You know, if it's not a hood story,
it's not a black story. And you know, sometimes I
feel left out of that.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
I don't know that that's necessarily true.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
I don't know, Oracle.

Speaker 5 (26:52):
You ain't do that because we love family, we love
fresh Prince, and that's not the typical.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
And now there is Martin. Mart we were talking about Rock.
You got so excited when I was if anybody remembers
that show? I say, what about Rock?

Speaker 1 (27:06):
You said, I love Rock?

Speaker 3 (27:08):
I love Rock. Everybody hates Chris.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
You know, there were definitely a lot of shows that
didn't have to be a hood story. And and I
think a lot of those were definitely on TV. The
Wayans Brothers. Yes, you know a lot of them living single.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
I don't think friends.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Well I didn't watch that Family matters to We did
an agent.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
That's what your problem is?

Speaker 2 (27:27):
All right, Well that is your Yet when we come back,
we have asked ye eight hundred two nine two fifty
one fifty any question you have, We're here to help
you out.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
It's way up everybody since with.

Speaker 6 (27:38):
Its relationship with koreer advice, Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
This is Askee, what's up? His way up with Angela? Yee?
I'm here with Beata, yep.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Do some of us let's do it all right? Well,
this person today wants to remain anonymous. Eight hundred two
nine two fifty one fifty you can do the same thing.
What's up, anonymous calor what's your question for me? And
beat up for asking you?

Speaker 13 (28:01):
All right, So I've been talking to the back for
the last six months and like you know, the last
four months, he's always been on and off, on and off.
He's older than me, and recently I had to get
involved with a lawyer for a situation. Well, my lawyer
has been heading on me the last I want to
say month.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
Oh that's inappropriate, and he's not.

Speaker 13 (28:21):
My He's not my lawyer. He worked for the same law.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Of first okay, so he's not your lawyer, but he
worked at the law firm that the lawyer that's working
for you.

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Is that yeah, okay, So.

Speaker 13 (28:31):
My my question is is that one I don't know.
I never dated a white fid Oh.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
Nothing to this, okay, So it was an episode of
suits just like you're a little intrigued.

Speaker 13 (28:42):
I am. He has beautiful blue eyes. And then the
guy that I'm talking to, I haven't spoken to a
standish guyn over twelve years, so this is new.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
So you do it all?

Speaker 2 (28:50):
You really stepping outside the box with your box.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
So what's rom with just dating both of them and
not being serious with either one until you decide if
you like one.

Speaker 13 (29:04):
Well, all right, that's the thing is that the guy
that i'll talk this from, he's already older, he's already
talking about marriage and all types of stuff. And then
the lawyer, he's older, he's thirty nine, No kid, has
never been married. He like, listen, you a little tisy.
You're a Latin woman that I want.

Speaker 8 (29:18):
You know.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
At least you know he has a job.

Speaker 13 (29:22):
Right, I always get out of trouble.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Well, here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
It feels like he this other guy that you've been dating,
he's talking marriage.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
You're not ready for.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
That, are you?

Speaker 2 (29:33):
You're not because you're considering this. The best thing is
always honesty, and the truth is you're not ready for marriage.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
You're down to date.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
You like him, but you're not there yet, and you
can date other people.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Yeah, you think you're done with black guys.

Speaker 13 (29:49):
No, I love black guys, but I just feel like
I need a break from them.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
Listen, you you end up loving who you love, though.
I will say that, so you're right. Have a good time,
That's what I have to say. Have a good time.
You're not married, You're not in a relationship. You're not engaged,
you know, but be honest about the fact that you
don't want to settle down right now?

Speaker 7 (30:14):
Yeah, okay, thanks sound good, thank you?

Speaker 2 (30:17):
All right, check back in. You know I love dating stories,
all right, okay, tank you all right?

Speaker 3 (30:21):
Good luck.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
That's really prepaid legal right there, you.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Know, right the love does he do? That was ask
ye eight hundred and two nine two fifty one to fifty.
If you couldn't get through, you can still leave a
message and ask a question that way. And when we
come back, we have from Trap City Brandon T. Jackson
alongside Talga Nation, who is the person who funded and
directed this project. Brandon T. Jackson is starting in this movie,

(30:45):
so is Geez. By the way, you can see Pastagzi
in this all right, and we'll be talking to them
about the whole process, but also what's going on with
Brandon T.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Jackson.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
He's got a comedy special on the way. We'll discuss
it all It's way up.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
This is way up with it. Let's go. You are
a media maven, right.

Speaker 10 (31:03):
You never know what and is gonna say.

Speaker 3 (31:06):

Speaker 3 (31:22):
I gotta ask.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
Because Brandon and how both of you guys have the
detrait connection with each other and you're stirring in the movie.
That's how actually directed produced.

Speaker 10 (31:33):
This was probably the hardest film I ever made in
my life. I mean to the point where Clifton Power
on one scene amazing, you know how you look all
laid back. We had him for two days. He takes
Tyland because he's a head headache. He actually takes tylandhall p.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
M Oh my goodness, oh my god. Instead of.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
That knocks me out, we're doing the same.

Speaker 10 (31:56):
You're like, man, hold on god, I'm like you could
he say, my dud, I took the wrong that took
the wrong town and all said.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
Took a sleeping.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
On an accident. So when you see him in the
scene like you ain't no rapper, he they look like,
but you tired of you? But he was. It was
just so many things that went wrong on it said.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
That, it was it was just what did you guys
feel this in de Tree?

Speaker 1 (32:21):
No, we feel someone Detroit and some in Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
Okay, because Jesz is in it too, so.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
He got jeezy.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
He got g Z in the film, which everyone calls
him a pastor and you know obviously past the je Z.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
Yeah, and so now y'all got him in there for
real as a pastor.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
He's great in it.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
He sets off the movie.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Don't mention my name. I love you know what sounds
like a boogie man coming out?

Speaker 4 (32:46):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Right now, I'm with Jasmine Brandon. We are talking to
the start of Trap City, Brandon T. Jackson, alongside the
producer and director Taalgonation. So I'm glad that you're back, though,
How are you feeling comfortable and happy?

Speaker 10 (32:58):
That I feel that God is with me now and
I can feel when he's not. I've been through a
lot of hell. I'm a different person than when I
first came out. I'm humbled that God will even find
grace in somebody like.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Me for real.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
Like to say, you've been through it.

Speaker 10 (33:14):
I've been through a lot of a lot of I
lost everything. I lost everything trying to help other people.
I lost my wife and lost my family. I was
on the rooftop a lot of you take talk remember
that scene. Yeah, yeah, that was me in real life
at one point. But it's like God, he always made away,
you know what I'm saying. So that's why I know
it's not me. So Trap City will be out December thirteenth.

(33:39):
My new show Family Business makes y'all see what found
bus New Orleans new comedy special chest Out is coming out,
So y'all can hear all the stuff that I've been through.

enjoy all right.

Speaker 3 (34:06):

Trap City. That movie is in theaters on Friday, also
starring Jeezy by the way as a pastor. I mean,
could you write that any better? We got more with
them when we come back. It's way up this.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
Now what's up? His way up with Angela?

Speaker 8 (34:29):
Yee?

Speaker 3 (34:29):
I'm here.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Jasmine Brand is here and we are talking to the
star and writer of Trap City, Brandon T. Jackson, alongside
the director and producer Intaalgonation. Now, Brandon, can we talk
about your divorce and getting back together with your wife?

Speaker 10 (34:41):
Long story, when I went to my crazy face just
can carry it out. I was not a good man
to my family, so we decided to didn't decide.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
She just kicked me out about it.

Speaker 10 (34:59):
She decided dealing with this and yeah, so from that
then I started dating. And remember I was out of
the whole culture. I was in my you know, spiritual thing.
I didn't know that. I didn't know what only fans
was at the time, so I didn't realize that, you know,
girls you can date, got websites that subscription models to
and then you know, for me personally, I'm more of

(35:21):
a conservative guy when it comes down to you know,
but I'm not judging anybody.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
But the thing.

Speaker 10 (35:25):
Is we have we're really you know, we're we're recommitting,
we're working.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
Working from I'm dating, I'm dating. I'm dating my ex
wife again.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
How did you manage to get a second chance?

Speaker 4 (35:36):
Uh?

Speaker 10 (35:36):
Cut my hair and I'm sure I realized that she
actually really loves me when I found out that she
really did love me. I got my stuff together and say,
you know what, but you got to hone it in.
What really broke us was my spiritual journey. I was
very harsh on you know sometimes y'all gotta be careful

(35:57):
weeding the Bible, don't mix and over deep and I
pressured things and I think I wasn't a good I
think it made me worse.

Speaker 3 (36:04):
Okay, some people.

Speaker 10 (36:06):
Not the Bible, but the judgment, the judgmental of everything,
you know, that was the big thing. But yeah, we're
dating again, and okay, I'm taking this seriously.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
It's nice to be with somebody who really knows you
though too, and loves you.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
Like I was talking to Terrence Howard today.

Speaker 10 (36:22):
He's like, you know, Brandon, the thing that that happened
to me was, you know, with my wife. I just
you know what I went through. Everybody saw in the media.
Just the thing is like, I have my second chance.
Don't mess up your second chance. I was like, thank you, Terrence.
I appreciate that it's your time to send Brandon when
y'all see my special.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
I can't wait.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
I talk about that right now.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
I'm with Jasmine Brandon. We are talking to the start
of Trapped City Brandon T. Jackson alongside the producer and
director Taalgonation and.

Speaker 10 (36:50):
My next special I'm right right now is called Classy Rebel.
I'm a classy there. It is like that.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
That is who you are.

Speaker 10 (36:56):
I'm over I'm over it. I'm not too Hollywood. Am
I too hood to church? I'm not you. You know
what I'm saying cocky, But sometimes I am. I'm a
classic rebel. You're not gonna catch.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Me, you know what I'm saying. Like a meditating thug.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
Yeah, I'm meditating.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
No, that's a joke.

Speaker 15 (37:18):
Horror Filmy listen, horror films. She loves horror movies. She
likes to write them. She's she's always telling me different
synopsis in her mind.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
She loves horror hotel. That's right here. The fact meditating.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
I don't like how you left.

Speaker 1 (37:36):

and Atlanta, the screening is on eleven, Yeah, and then
the premiere and then in Detroit the premiers.

Speaker 1 (37:49):

Thirty cities, seventy theaters.
