On June twenty fourth, nineteen sixtynine, Led Zeppelin recorded four songs in
London exclusively for British radio Airwaves.Two songs were from their debut album,
only one was Going On to ledZeppelin two. The odd one from neither
album was Zeppelin's on the Spot reinterpretationof an American blues song by Robert Johnson

Robert Plant Knows the History. OnJune the twenties, nineteen thirty seven,
in Dallas, Traveling Riverside Blues wasfirst recorded, and it says if a
man gets personal that wants to havehis fun, best come back to Friar's
Point, Mama and Balhaus all nightlong. Now, the idea of that
some troubadour going up and down MississippiRiver, kidding off at the landing and
playing it's just the idea of thisguy getting away with it. It seemed

recording engineer Eddie Kramer captured official multitrack audio of led Zeppelin live at
the LA Forum. Eddie also recordedLong Beach Arena two nights later, some
thirty years before. Those tapes resultedin the live album How the West Was

who commissioned Eddie Kramer to record thoseshows. It was my suggestion to do
this recording on the West Coast becausehey, we had La Forum and if

played about an hour's worth of materialduring a charity event in London. He
had rehearsed at Gnomus Studios and startedand finished his set with the Black Crows

schedule was clear. This was thepath forward for me to play live shows
again, newly without Robert plant Ohfifty five years ago. On June twenty
eighth, nineteen sixty nine, LedZeppelin had the position of being the fourteenth

band to perform at the Bath Festivalof Blues all in one day. Two
other bands were slated between Zeppelin andheadliner Fleetwood Mac. That festival drew a
crowd of twelve thousand to Bath RecreationGround. Not bad, but it pales
in comparison to what Woodstock proved possiblethat summer. So for the following year,

promoter Freddie Banister started thinking big outdoorgrounds near Shepton Mallet provided ample space
for a couple hundred thousand. Innineteen seventy it was the Bath Festival of
