'Get The Led Out' Explores The Incredible History Of The Rock Band Led Zeppelin!

Hi, this is Carol Miller. Welcome to our Get the
Letout calendar. On September first, nineteen seventy one, Led Zeppelin
performed in South Florida at a newly open venue midway
between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Zeppelin's gig was originally announced

as taking place at the Miami Gia Live Front On
they would have seeded only eight thousand there. Instead, promoters
moved Zeppelin show to the Hollywood Speedway Park Sportatorium. They
offered four thousand additional tickets for sale this way, while
they also managed to cap general admission ticket prices at
wait for it, six dollars fifty five years ago. On

September second, nineteen seventy led Zeppelin previewed some of their
third album at Oakland Colisee. The first blast came at
the top of the show with Immigrant Song to balance
things out. Zeppelin later played their more mellow That's the Way.

Jimmy Page played acoustic guitar, while John Paul Jones tackled
both mandolin with both hands and bass pedals with both feet.
Robert Plant joined John Bonham on percussion, and two of
them sang with harmonies, with Robert on Zeptember three, two

thousand and eight, GQ magazine named the three surviving members
of led Zeppelin Men of the Year. The British magazine
picked Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page because
of how well the three of them had pulled off
the proper reunion concert the previous year in London. Jimmy

Hill a third time that month as the finale of
the entire tour in New York. Probably around that time
is when blueberry Hill Live from the LA Forum was
being pressed onto vinyl. Forty five years ago. On September fifth,

nineteen eighty, Led Zeppelin announced they would quote tour the
United States for approximately one month, starting in the middle
of October unquote. This would be the first Led Zeppelin
tour in America in longer than three years. Ticket information
was forthcoming in a matter of days. The clever name
of the tour was quote led Zeppelin the nineteen Eighties

Part One. This implied, if not declared, that they intended
for further touring to take place, so rehearsals were in order.
