Hi, this is Carol Miller. Welcome to our Get the
Letout calendar. Thirty years ago, on October thirteenth, nineteen ninety five,
Jimmy Page and Robert Plant performed at the United Center
in Chicago. They were thirty shows deep into their American
dates on their No Quarter tour. One of their previous
tour dates, back on April twenty ninth, had also been
in the Chicago area at the Rosemont Horizon in April.

released the compilation Remasters. Not only was it their first compilation,
but it was the first time Jimmy Page was in
charge of remastering for compact disc.

CDs didn't sound a tool up to scratch to me,
and it just didn't sound right. This gave a really
good opportunity to get the sound lines on them.

Jimmy selected a few key songs from each led Zeppelin
studio album and he fit them onto two CDs. Vinyl
enthusiasts got three LPs remasters has been out of Prince
since nineteen ninety nine, when it was made obsolete by
the two volume Best of led Zeppelin set. Those compilations
also became obsolete with the release of Mothership in two

thousand and seven. On October sixteenth, nineteen seventy two, Jimmy
Page and Robert Plant traveled together in India. John Paul
Jones and John Bonham preferred to go home to England
after their Japanese tour. Jimmy and Robert were spotted at
a Mumbai nightclub called the Slip Disc. Within three days,
they pulled together local musicians to record new versions of

the led Zeppelin songs for Styx and Friends. Their recordings

were officially released ten years ago on the deluxe edition
of CODA. On October seventeenth, twenty twelve, the film of
led Zeppelin's reunion show, known as Celebration Day, was released
worldwide in theaters. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones,
and Jason Bonham had played a full length show together
in London nearly five years earlier, and I was lucky

seen together publicly was that the film's premiere in New York,
and I was there for that too. I was really
happy when Robert Plant recognized me from the stage of
their press conference before I introduced myself, and then both
he and Jimmy explained why they were so sensitive to
