Speaker 1 (00:01):
Scott. Now you have some history with Children's. Oh, tell
us a little bit about your history with Children's.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Well, my daughter was born in Children's Hospital some years
ago and really sick when she was born, and we
spent the better part of a year in the intensive
care unit. So I was here a lot and saw
a lot. And then years later I became a volunteer
in the outpatient surgery area and I was here three
days a week, early mornings and really saw the way

(00:31):
that the staff medical and I'm non medical, treated the
families and the kids, and you just fall in love
with this place and you see the things that they're doing,
and there's miracles happening here.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Scott, I know your team actually comes to volunteer here
at Children's Nebraska and is very involved in the hospital
and in the community in general. Tell us about what
they do here.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
So they have this bingo game and a few other
craft things too, But we come and play bingo with
the kids, and some of the kids can come to
the bingo area, and some do it virtually. There's maybe
too ill to come down, but we play bingo and
have fun and we have all kinds of prizes, and
you know, we bring things for the kids, and it's
just really a great time. The team loves it, the

(01:18):
kids have fun, they win some things, but it's such
a great time to.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Come talking with Scott Baker of NFM. Now, you could
be doing a lot of things with your time. What
is it about Children's Nebraska that connects with you and
your staff there at NFM.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Well, this is a place for kids, and these kids
have needs and Nebraska Furniture Mart. We are really focused
on improving people's lives and we'll never be able to
do it like they do it at Children's Hospital, but
we sure are working hard at it every day and
we know that they are too.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Scott, If you could share one message with our listeners today,
what would it be.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
This is a wonderful organization and there are miracles happening
at this place. Your donation would be well placed, and
I urge you to give what you can and we're
here for the next hour to match your donation, So
do what you can do.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
You want to spend that five thousand dollars, don't you.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
I want to spend every cent of it.
