Speaker 1 (00:00):
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth delivered an historic speech, having
now gathered every senior military commander and officer, generals, admirals,
you name it, from around the entire world and gathered
them into one hall. He told them there's a new

(00:20):
sheriff in town, a new commander in chief, and yes,
there will now be a new US military. As he
told all of the military brass and every single senior
military officer, the days of dei and a woke military
are over, or, as heg Seth put it, dudes in

(00:43):
dresses are now gone, and the era of worshiping climate
change is gone as well. This will now be a
real military with its focus on fitness, lethality and winning
war and restoring the warrior ethos. And as Pete heg

(01:04):
Seth said, it's not that we don't want women to serve.
We want women to serve, but from now on it's
going to be one gender neutral, high physical standard for
everybody serving. And if you can't match that high physical
standard with an annual physical fitness test, you're out. We

(01:29):
need people who can load artillery shells, who can carry
sixty to eighty pound backpacks, who can take casualties on
the ground, Grab a casualty or someone on the ground
wounded and put them on their back and rescue them
and carry them to safety. In other words, we need

(01:49):
a military, lean, mean, muscular, and a warrior military that
is here to win wars. And the day of fat
soldiers and fat generals are over. As Pete egg Seth
rightly put it, the generals set an example and the

(02:11):
commander set an example for the rich rank and file.
Take someone like General Millie. He was a fat slob.
I'm sorry, but that's what he was. Obese, overweight. His
appearance was horrible. How can you inspire respect among your
men if you're forty fifty sixty eighty one hundred pounds overweight,

(02:35):
and many of them with beards or not shaved properly.
As heg Seth put it, we're not asking you to
be rambo. We understand you got a desk job. We
understand you're in your fifties, sixties and seventies. We understand that.
But still you have to be in physical shape. You
have to be physically fit, and you have to set

(02:57):
an example for your men who you are expected to
lead and command into battle. In other words, The days
of fat generals, fat soldiers, fat military personnel are over.
This is a new military, the military that we used

(03:18):
to have that when we fought wars, we won wars.
The US military is back, and Pete Hegseth and Donald
Trump are completely correct. It's time for the woke dei
agenda to end, especially in the military. We want warriors,

(03:42):
we don't want wokesters. Pete Hegseth is turning into a great,
brilliant Secretary of Defense. Keep going, Pete. The job is
to make America's military the best, the most ferocious, the
most effect the most lethal in the world. We're not

(04:04):
here to please the editorial pages of the New York
Times or the talking heads or the feminists on CNN
or MSNBC. We're here to fight and win wars. And
that means soldiers, commanders and generals who are fit, lean

(04:25):
and willing and able to lead their men into battle.
Fat people don't belong in the military. And if you're
offended by that, too bad, get in shape or get
out

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
