Spoken For: Battle Over Texas Speaker Continues

A group of Texas Republicans is still pushing new possible
candidates to win the speakership with Democrat votes after their
preferred candidate, Dustin Burroughs, lost majority support. Political analyst Luke
Macias says most Republicans have gotten the message.

Governor Greg Abbott has called on Republicans to unify behind
the caucus choice and stuff. There's a real hope that
Republicans come together, but there is this still small band
of Republicans who seemingly are very dedicated to trying to
cut a deal with the Democrats.

The Texas GOP has threatened to censure any member who
does not support caucus winner David Cook for Speaker Corey Jolson,
who's Radio seven forty KTRH.
