Uncovered: Some Texans May Drop Home Insurance

Some local homeowners say they're considering dropping their home insurance
policy altogether due to what they call unsustainable cost increases.
Insurance expert Ronsnoffer recommends at least keeping catastrophic coverage.

You could just have coverage for a fire or hurricane
claim or something like that.

Even with high deductible. At least you know you have
some coverage in case the building gets completely demolished, and
if it's just a minor claim, been in seven eight,
ten thousand dollars out of pocket.

rate of weather events and natural disasters, leaving residents with
