Speaker 1 (00:01):
As I was planning on taking the day off today
that all went to the wayside as we now have
seen what has happened in this horrific terrorist attack in
New Orleans. Sources there are saying that there was a
writing found that supports the view attack was inspired or
involved with ISIS. We also have been told now that
(00:22):
there are more than just the driver that are involved
in this attack in New Orleans. I want you to
hear the latest from CNN as they reported on the
FBI's recovered video showing not one, not two, but three
men and a woman who may have been involved in
placing improvise explosive devices in New Orleans.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Listen to this, as Evan, you've been breaking news on
this throughout the course of the day. You're getting new
information about the FBI's investigation into whether the suspect had helped.
What are you learning, well, the key question obviously is
the help the additional so that the FBI Assistant Special
Agent in charge was mentioning. And what we know at
this point, Phil, is that the FBI has a recovered
(01:10):
video surveillance video that appears to show three men and
one woman appearing to help put IEDs. What are believed
to be IED's at locations in the French Quarter. Now,
we heard from the FBI there that there were additional
potential explosives that were found during the search later this morning,
(01:30):
and they were rendered safe during the day today, and
so the surveillance video appears to show those people either
helping to put those devices there or being close by. Again,
that's part of this investigation now to find those people,
to ask them whether they were involved in some way
that they help build the explosives or were they just
(01:52):
you know, perhaps standing by. All of those things are
on the table for the FBI. The other thing that's
very key to this is, you know, the association with ISIS,
the idea that this person was inspired by a terrorist organization,
and what they found was some writings inside the truck,
perhaps on the person of this suspect that that appears
(02:16):
to suggest inspiration by ISIS. Again, that helps buttress the
viewed by law enforcement that this was a terrorist attack,
that this was something that was inspired by ISIS or
by terrorist organizations. Again, all of this is now part
of the investigation. The question of where this person got
their radicalization, how far back does that go. We know
(02:40):
that he is a former army member the US Army,
so you know how far back does that radicalization go.
We know he's from Houston. All of those places are
now being investigated, including locations in Houston as well as
locations in Louisiana where the suspect stayed before coming to
(03:00):
carry out this attack. All of those things now part
of this very broad investigation is going to be a
long time I think before we get a final answer
on everything that was involved here.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Yeah, it just seems to just create more questions at
this point on some level, given the fact that there's
looking at more people real quickly.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Well, I just want to add real quick I mean,
the idea that you have more than one person involved,
I think is a huge deal as far as an investigation,
because in the last few years, even in the era
of ISIS, what we've usually seen is lone wolf attacks.
We've covered so many of that of these you and
I and for you to have more than one person
(03:38):
involved typically is problematic for carrying out attacks because the
more people involved, the greater of the chance that the
law enforcement is going to find out something. So the
idea that they were able to carry this out more
than one person's involvement is a big, big part of this.
That's going to be very very hard for the FBI
to try to again figure out right revenue and.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
The tim and doing great reporting all day.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
Keep us posted as you learn more. Avian Paris, thanks
so much so.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
That is what we have there now. We also the
FBI is now put on a new statements saying they
quote don't believe the driver in the crowd attack was
quote solely responsible. That is what we are being told now,
and we have some information about this attacker. The attacker
is a forty two year old US citizen from Texas.
He had an ISIS flag attached to the truck or
(04:25):
in the truck, maybe more than one flag. The FBI
is now saying that he's a forty two year old
US citizen from Texas, and there are reports that he
was actually had served in our US military. The suspect
as a man, and I don't want to use his
name just because I don't want people to feel like
(04:45):
when they do this they become famous. He is and
again this is new now coming from the FBI. I
want to be clear about this. This could change at
any moment. This is what we have right now. The
suspect is a forty two year old a US citizen
from Texas. He was having a Ford pickup truck which
appears to have been rented and FBI is working to
confirm how the subject came into possession of the vehicle.
(05:07):
An ISIS flag was located in the vehicle and the
FBI is working to determine the suspect's potential association associations
plural and affiliations with terrorist organizations. Weapons and a potential
IED were located in the subject's vehicle. Other potential IDs
(05:29):
were also located in the French quarter. Now, the photo
that has been released by of the Neworons attacker shows
the man by the name again I don't want to
use his name, but could it very easily have ties
to the Middle East based on what we are seeing
and apparently he left a note as well. New information
(05:50):
the man again named as the truck attacker was an
Army veteran that's now been confirmed who worked in real
estate and quote had financial troubles, So that is also
breaking right now as well on this. So that is
what we have. This is the latest on this now.
I say this the latest on this because there is
another potential terrorist attack. Police are investigating at the moment
(06:14):
a cyber truck explosion at the Trump Las Vegas Hotel.
They are treating it as a possible act of tear,
is what officials are saying. Before I get into this
Trump Tower potential attack, I want to also let you
know they have canceled the Sugar Bowl for tonight. That
was the game that was supposed to take place in
New Orleans, and that game intentively will be played twenty
(06:38):
four hours later tomorrow night. This dead urban street. We're
getting so much information about this individual, and we're gonna
give you more as it's coming in. But let's also
get to this other attack that we are finding out about,
and that is police are investigating a cyber truck explosion
at the Trump Las Vegas Hotel. Well, they have confirmed
(07:01):
now they are treating that as a possible act of terror.
Authorities investigating the side of the truck. Apparently it pulled
into the circle drive there at the Trump Las Vegas
Hotel in Nevada and then the truck exploded. The person
that was in that truck apparently was killed. The police
have been telling the public to avoid the area. The
(07:22):
driver pulled into the valet area of the hotel and
the vehicle then exploded. According to an official, the driver
is apparently dead and so far the only casually from
the incident. Seven bystanders had injuries. Minor injuries were being
told Elon Musk coming out as many on the internet
of course hate Elon Musk. That may be part of
the reason why cyber truck was used to attack him
(07:44):
because of his close ties to Donald Trump. And here
is what Elon Musk has just said in a statement.
Quote the whole Tesla senior team is investigating this matter
right now. We'll post more information as soon as we
learn anything. We've never seen anything like this, hight' he say,
We've never seen anything like this. He is referencing many
online that are trying to blame or claim that the
(08:06):
explosion was a lithium battery blast causing meaning the problem
was Elon Musk. Tesla. An official briefed on the investigation
has now confirmed, by the way to ABC News. Just
so that all the crazies can get shut down that quote,
this was not a lithium battery blast as some have
(08:28):
speculated online. The property is a subject of frequent threats
and heightened security given its connection to Trump, the Trump
Las Vegas Hotel, and Elon muss the see of Tesla
is a very close ally president like Donald Trump. In fact,
he was with President Trump saying next to him last
night at mar Lago Fort New Year's Eve. He is
also in charge of DOGE as you know, to cut
(08:50):
government waste. There's a lot of people that hate him.
They can't stand him, and that is why Elon Musk
said that the whole senior Tesla team has investigating the
matter right now. Authorities though coming out and briefing and
telling ABC News quote, this was not a lithium battery blast,
so this was obviously some sort of explosion slash terrorist attack.
(09:13):
Those are the two things there. Now, let me also
tell you something else that is coming out. The cyber
truck that could exploit in front of Trump and National
Las Vegas was rented, We're being told from Turo. So
that is a rental service where you rent a car
from individuals. We're now being told now that it was
rented from Turo. Law enforcement sources are now saying to
(09:35):
the media the F one fifty used in New Orleans
attack was also rented from Turo. Is there a connection
between these two rentals. We don't know, but apparently we're
now being told and this could change. I'm giving the
best information I have right now that both of these attackers'
cars were nice cars that were rented from Turo. Quote.
(09:57):
While the terrorists plotted, Joe Biden and his administration persecuted
the BS cases of real Donald Trump and allowed millions
in through the open southern border, including thousands of terraces.
There needs to be an accounting, and it's coming January
the twentieth. That is what one person just posted online
(10:20):
right now, a wounded combat veteran and a man who
is a GEOPEO political strategist saying, this is what you
get when you're not paying attention to what's actually happening
in the world. I can't disagree with that. I want
to be very clear. I think there's a lot of
this is we should have been securing the border. We
should have been We are stretched tooth thin, law enforcement
(10:41):
stretch too thin, and that's part of the reason why
we have all this happening right now. We also have
the President who has made it clear as he said
that things will change on January the twentieth. When these
types of things happen, America will act. And that's exactly
what we know. One of the things he did tweet
about an hour ago he said, when I said that
(11:02):
the criminals coming in are far worse than the criminals
we have in our country. That statement was consistently refuted
by Democrats and fake news media, but it turned out
to be true. The crime rate in our country is
at a level that nobody has ever seen before. Our
hearts are all with all of the innocent victims and
their loved ones, including the brave officers of the New
ors Police Department. The Trump administration quote will fully support
(11:25):
the city of New Orleans as they investigate and recover
from this act of pure evil. He is calling it
pure evil. We're also being told in sad news now
coming out of New Orleans from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's office,
the death toll has risen to at least fifteen in
the New Orleans eve truck attack there, and they are looking.
(11:46):
There's a full blown manhunt going on now for three
men and one woman. As I played for you in
that report a moment ago, let me also play for
you the Louisiana Attorney General what he was said by
the Louisiana Tijorney General on Fox moments ago.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
The Attorney General, Congressman Troy Katta said at the news
conference that you also attended, and this is a quote.
We will find you talking to the other suspects. We
will bring you to justice. Is that something a promise
that you, too, as Attorney General can make to the
people of Louisiana and indeed this country.
Speaker 5 (12:23):
It absolutely is. And while there are else there are
certainly federal terrorism charges and other charges that can be brought.
We are willing to bring state charges as well, and
we have state terrorism charges. We have the death penalty
in Louisiana, and I'm certainly willing to ensure that we
carry it out.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
One of the things that is really frustrating about this is,
let me just give you the FBI New Orleans tweet
that went out earlier this summer. It's said, and this
was tweeted out by FBI New Orleans on X quote,
FBI New Orleans is holding a diversity agent recruitment event
and we want to meet you agents and FBI executives
(13:03):
will provide first hand information about a rewarding career. Apply
now to see if you qualify for the July seventeenth
event in Louisiana with a link. They were hiring in
the FBI New Orleans not based on the best people,
but based on diversity, equity, and inclusion. This was a
directive clearly from the Biden administration. The New Orleans FBI
(13:23):
held a recruiting event a few months ago to recruit quote,
diverse agents, not the best agents, diversity agents. When you
play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. There's a lot
of people worried about the upcoming events New Orleans, the
Sugar Bowl, Mardi Gras, jazz Fest, and then the super Bowl.
(13:44):
We've also found out that those barriers that should have
been up on New Year's Eve before this Sugar Bowl
game were apparently not used or taken down to prepare
them for the super Bowl. There's a lot of people
that are very angry about why on Earth with local
leaders there think it's a good idea to not have
(14:05):
those hard barriers up. The New Orleans Police superintendent saying
this at a press conference moments ago.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
Thank you, Governor and Madam Mayer. For those who do
not know me, my name is Anne Kirkpatrick. I'm the
Chief of Police of New Orleans. My title official title
is superintendent, but my role is as chief of police.
You know you've heard some of the details today and
over the last twenty four hours. We had approximately four
(14:34):
hundred officers in the French Quarter. And as we know,
this is not just an act of terrorism. This is
evil and when we face evil, we have a choice.
We can run in fear or we can indeed stand
(14:56):
in strength. And a time of crisis are looking for leadership.
You are looking at the leadership and I promise you
as the chief of police of this city. This city
has been tried by fire before, but fire purifies, fire
(15:20):
makes things stronger. We have a plan, we know what
to do. We are going to get these people. There
is a path forward. Very pleased that we will be
back to having a wonderful game tomorrow night. New Orleans
(15:43):
Police have proven their ability to make the city safer.
Just two years ago we were the murder capital of America. Today,
from that time two years ago, we have driven our
murder rate more than fifty percent down. So we have
(16:06):
a track record. But this is different because it's terrorism.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Now.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
I want to thank all of our law enforcement partners.
You're fabulous and we appreciate the partnership. But last night,
three of our officers engaged this terrorist who shot at them.
Three of the officers return fire. Those officers did not
(16:34):
run in fear. I liked what the mayor said this morning.
New Orleans Police and all law enforcement is built. We
are built for dealing with evil, with things that would
cause us others to be in fear. But instead, our
(16:55):
officers and last night NPD particular stood strong. They did
not run. They did kill the terrorist.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
They did kill the terrorists. The question that we all
should be asking ourselves now and again, there's a lot
of breaking news on this. Number one, Why on earth
did the local elected officials, the Democrats are in charge
of New Orleans allow for the hydraulic road barriers to
be open and not be closed on New Year's Eve,
(17:30):
the day before this big Bowl game. Why do they
allow for those hydraulic road barriers that they know are
needed for exactly this scenario on New Year's Eve, when
that city is packed and an easy target to allow
for a truck to plow right into people, killing now
fifteen and wounding more than thirty. Why did the FBI,
(17:55):
who spends all this time on inclusion and in recruiting
a New Orleans initially come out and said it wasn't
a terrorist attack at first? Then there's an ISIS flag
that was found in the truck. Then because of voices
like you and me, we were able to put it
out there and force now the FBI to say, okay,
this was a tterarist attack. Yeah, duh, we know that. Duh.
(18:18):
We know that. These are the questions that we should
demand answers from. And finally, the terrorists was a formerly
in the US Army. Reports claim he was reported two
superiors for radical Islamic views, but those reports were being
told now in initial reports may have been ignored. And
(18:38):
more explosive devices were found in the French quarter, videos
showing three men one woman placing the additional bombs. Now
the FBI saying they believe the man didn't act alone.
Why do we have an FBI that cares more about
inclusion and equity than they do about catching the bad guys?
These are all questions that you be asked. And the
(19:01):
final question is now that a test a cyber trucks
exploited outside of the Trump Hotel in Vegas. How do
you respond to this coordinated attack. I'm going to keep
you updated on this. I can promise you
