helping to put those devices there or being close by. Again,
that's part of this investigation now to find those people,

on the table for the FBI. The other thing that's
very key to this is, you know, the association with ISIS,
the idea that this person was inspired by a terrorist organization,
and what they found was some writings inside the truck,
perhaps on the person of this suspect that that appears

to suggest inspiration by ISIS. Again, that helps buttress the
viewed by law enforcement that this was a terrorist attack,
that this was something that was inspired by ISIS or
by terrorist organizations. Again, all of this is now part
of the investigation. The question of where this person got
their radicalization, how far back does that go. We know

that he is a former army member the US Army,
so you know how far back does that radicalization go.
We know he's from Houston. All of those places are
now being investigated, including locations in Houston as well as
locations in Louisiana where the suspect stayed before coming to

carry out this attack. All of those things now part
of this very broad investigation is going to be a
long time I think before we get a final answer
on everything that was involved here.

this point on some level, given the fact that there's

FBI is working to determine the suspect's potential association associations
plural and affiliations with terrorist organizations. Weapons and a potential
IED were located in the subject's vehicle. Other potential IDs

the man by the name again I don't want to
use his name, but could it very easily have ties
to the Middle East based on what we are seeing

estate and quote had financial troubles, So that is also

held a recruiting event a few months ago to recruit quote,
diverse agents, not the best agents, diversity agents. When you
play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. There's a lot
of people worried about the upcoming events New Orleans, the
Sugar Bowl, Mardi Gras, jazz Fest, and then the super Bowl.

We've also found out that those barriers that should have
been up on New Year's Eve before this Sugar Bowl
game were apparently not used or taken down to prepare
them for the super Bowl. There's a lot of people
that are very angry about why on Earth with local
leaders there think it's a good idea to not have

those hard barriers up. The New Orleans Police superintendent saying
this at a press conference moments ago.

Thank you, Governor and Madam Mayer. For those who do
not know me, my name is Anne Kirkpatrick. I'm the
Chief of Police of New Orleans. My title official title
is superintendent, but my role is as chief of police.
You know you've heard some of the details today and
over the last twenty four hours. We had approximately four

hundred officers in the French Quarter. And as we know,
this is not just an act of terrorism. This is
evil and when we face evil, we have a choice.
We can run in fear or we can indeed stand
(14:56):
in strength. And a time of crisis are looking for leadership.
You are looking at the leadership and I promise you
as the chief of police of this city. This city
has been tried by fire before, but fire purifies, fire
(15:20):
makes things stronger. We have a plan, we know what
to do. We are going to get these people. There
is a path forward. Very pleased that we will be
back to having a wonderful game tomorrow night. New Orleans
(15:43):
Police have proven their ability to make the city safer.
Just two years ago we were the murder capital of America. Today,
from that time two years ago, we have driven our
murder rate more than fifty percent down. So we have
(16:06):
a track record. But this is different because it's terrorism.

I want to thank all of our law enforcement partners.
You're fabulous and we appreciate the partnership. But last night,
three of our officers engaged this terrorist who shot at them.
Three of the officers return fire. Those officers did not

run in fear. I liked what the mayor said this morning.
New Orleans Police and all law enforcement is built. We
are built for dealing with evil, with things that would
cause us others to be in fear. But instead, our
(16:55):
officers and last night NPD particular stood strong. They did
not run. They did kill the terrorist.

They did kill the terrorists. The question that we all
should be asking ourselves now and again, there's a lot
of breaking news on this. Number one, Why on earth
did the local elected officials, the Democrats are in charge
of New Orleans allow for the hydraulic road barriers to
be open and not be closed on New Year's Eve,
(17:30):
the day before this big Bowl game. Why do they
allow for those hydraulic road barriers that they know are
needed for exactly this scenario on New Year's Eve, when
that city is packed and an easy target to allow
for a truck to plow right into people, killing now
fifteen and wounding more than thirty. Why did the FBI,
(17:55):
who spends all this time on inclusion and in recruiting
a New Orleans initially come out and said it wasn't
a terrorist attack at first? Then there's an ISIS flag
that was found in the truck. Then because of voices
like you and me, we were able to put it
out there and force now the FBI to say, okay,
this was a tterarist attack. Yeah, duh, we know that. Duh.

We know that. These are the questions that we should
demand answers from. And finally, the terrorists was a formerly
in the US Army. Reports claim he was reported two
superiors for radical Islamic views, but those reports were being
told now in initial reports may have been ignored. And
(18:38):
more explosive devices were found in the French quarter, videos
showing three men one woman placing the additional bombs. Now
the FBI saying they believe the man didn't act alone.
Why do we have an FBI that cares more about
inclusion and equity than they do about catching the bad guys?
These are all questions that you be asked. And the
(19:01):
final question is now that a test a cyber trucks
exploited outside of the Trump Hotel in Vegas. How do
you respond to this coordinated attack. I'm going to keep
