Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, I can announce all of them now. I could
announce fifty to one hundred deals right now, because you know,
I'm the shopkeeper and I keep the store. You know,
I know what countries are looking for, and I know
what we're looking for, and I can just set those
terms and they can go shopping, or they don't have
to go shopping, because everybody wants to shop.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Here, you're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with
Ben Ferguson.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Good Saturday morning to you, Ben Ferguson with you, and
these are some of the stories that you may have
missed that we talked about this week on the forty
seven Morning Update. First up, Donald Trump has a big
week at the White House, meeting with Canada as well
as talking with China on trade negotiations.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Up next, in.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Another massive win, the cinelo At cartel was behind the
largest veetnyl seizure in US history, and the Trump administration
is letting Americans know to be careful of the pills
on the black market as the cinelo At cartel is
flooding America at record rates with drugs that are killing Americans.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
And finally, Tom Homan making.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
It very clear after police officers were attacked by illegal
immigrants in New York, that we are going to flood
sanctuary cities with ICE agents and we will go after
illegal immigrants at their places of work. How big of
an impact we us have. You'll hear from Tom Homan
in just a moment. It's the forty seven Morning Update
(01:28):
and it starts right now.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
Story number one.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
President Donald Trump is fresh office, hundred days in office,
and now we are getting worried that his administration has
no plan to slow down in the coming weeks, months,
or even years. This week, we're celebrating the most successful
first one hundred days of any presidential administration in the
history of our country. Is what Trump had to say
(01:51):
is he was addressing the University of Alabama on Thursday
at his commencement speech. Fast forward to week sixteen, back
in the oldfe and we now know what's happening when
it comes to the issue of trade with The President
is meeting with Canada's new leader and having ongoing talks
as well between Russia and Ukraine, and trade negotiations with
(02:16):
foreign nations are also expected to continue heating up.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
At the White House today now.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
The Canadian Prime Minister to visit the White House, and
a major point that they will be speaking about will
be how they can work on their trade deal. Now,
Carney's Liberal party emerged victorious in the nation's federal elections
last week, and now they will discuss the twenty five
percent tariff imposed on goods from the nation sent to
(02:43):
the US, and Trump's repeated urging that the US northern
neighbor become the fifty first state. Yes, it's still kind
of a joke. We are meeting as heads of our government,
Carney said Friday of the upcoming meeting. And I'm not
pretending that those discussions will be easy, he said.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
Now.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Trump added during his Cabinet meeting with members on Thursday
that he said it was important that America get a
fair trade deal with Carney after Canada's elections, and predicted
they would have a quote great working relationship, saying He's
going to come to the White House very shortly, within
the next week or less, and everything will be on
(03:22):
the table. We also are finding out there's some movement
with China, as Beijing is evaluating trade negotiation offer as well.
In fact, China's Commerce ministry is now said publicly that
they are in negotiations with the US, and that officials
are quote evaluating an offer from the Trump administration to
hold trade talks on the one hundred and forty five
(03:45):
percent US tariffs on Chinese goods. This is signaling it
could be a very busy week of discussions if China
accepts the offer.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Quote.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
The US has recently taken the initiative on many occasions
to convey information in China through relevant partys, saying it
hopes to talk with China. That coming from a new
report from Reuters. So what is the President doing, Well,
it's the art of the deal. He's attempting to use
the talks to get a better deal for American taxpayers
and also so that the world can go back to
(04:17):
more of a normal trading capacity. Back and forth, Trump
and the administration made it clear we're not going to
be taken advantage of, and neither will American workers. But
we're willing to hold trade negotiation with China, including the
President saying on April to eighth that we are waiting
for their call.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
It will happen now.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
The President said on NBC News Is Meet the Press
on Sunday that he will not drop the tariffs to
bring China to the negotiating table. He said that is
a non starter. So the President still holding firm but
saying we're more than ready to have a real talk
about changing the way that America has been taken advantage of.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
Next story number two.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
The Trump administration has announced a significant escalation immigration enforcement
targeting sanctuary cities, Tom Homan stating that if local jurisdictions
continue to resist cooperation with federal immigration authorities, the federal
government will respond by increasing the presence of ICE agents
(05:17):
in these areas. Homan emphasized that sanctuary cities are quote
going to get exactly what they don't want, more agents
in their community, and warned that ICE is prepared to
double the man force if we have to to carry out.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
The enforcement actions now.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
This intensified approach includes a focus on work site enforcement,
the White House, says. Homan indicated that if ICE agents
are unable to make arrests in jails or on the
streets due to local non cooperation with law enforcement in
the court systems, then they will increase operations at workplaces.
He stated, if we can't do it in the streets,
(05:57):
we're going to increase work side and enforcement operations. In
those sanctuary cities, and we're going to flood work site
enforcement operations. Now, these statements have sparked quote controversy, the
media claims and immigration advocacy groups are fighting back, arguing
that such aggressive enforcement tactics could quote strain community relations
(06:19):
and lead to the targeting of non criminal undocumented immigrants.
Now this comes as the media also freaked out saying
that Donald Trump took all of the fun out of
Cinco de Mayo. Why because many cities canceled or downplayed
their Singo Demyo events for fear of ice raids and deportations.
(06:40):
Chicago residents and the president of their local community group
said that people in the Hispanic community are quote very
scared of gathering in public, with some even considering going
back to Mexico on their own. By the way, that
is absolutely what the Trump administration is saying they want
to happen. Quote our people of very scared. Honestly, they're
(07:01):
saying they don't want to go to work. They have
to go to work because they have to feed their families.
So if they both were working. Now one person is
working as to why they canceled the Singo Demio parade
in Chicago's Little Village, which attracts up to three hundred
thousand people annually. Escobar said that too many people are
just afraid. How about the parade, how about the festivities?
(07:24):
And they say, well, if we're scared to go to work,
I don't think it's nothing to celebrate. So that took
us to the decision over money. We all see this
country as picking up people with no criminal records, he claims,
which is actually not true. If you come to the
United States of America illegally, you are a criminal. Back
to the statement, and honestly, it's a horrible way we
(07:45):
have seen in my last forty five years I've been
living here in the US, nothing like it.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
And so let's just be clear.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
This is exactly what the President of the United States
of America wanted. He wanted illegal immigrants to not feel
safe staying in the US. He wanted them to be
looking over his shoulder, and is hoping that many will
be deporting themselves, whether it's Chicago or Philadelphia, many other cities,
even in Oregon. The Latino Fests was also canceled there
(08:14):
as the executive director of the Latino Community Association said
there's just too much fear among illegal immigrants, or has
he described them migrants of being identified or detained simply
for participating in our cultural celebrations of Cinco de Mayo.
Democrats are also blaming Donald Trump for the quote economic impact,
saying the cancelations have had significant economic repercussions. In Chicago,
(08:39):
the Chamber of Commerce put out a statement estimating a
loss of approximately one point five million in direct income
for the city, in between five and six million for
local businesses due to the parades cancelation on Cinco de Mayo. Now,
all of this complaining comes at a time whether a
shocking video has come out showing illegal immigrants at hacking
(09:00):
police officers in New York. Tom Homan sitting down with
Laura Ingram on Fox talking about this attack on these
police officers and his plan to flood ice workforce in
sanctuary cities.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
Take a listen, Jame's over.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
We're going to look for these public safety threats and
we're going to take them off the streets in New
York and every other sanctuary city. A matter of fact,
every sanctuary theority city. We're going to triple the workforce.
We're gonna flood the zone with officers, and we can't
wrestle in the jail, we'll ar wrestling in the community.
If we can't arrestle in the community or arrest at
their work site, We're going to triple work side enforcement operations.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
We're going to flood the zone.
Speaker 5 (09:37):
We're going to take these public safety threats off the streets.
With your help or without your help.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
One thanks for sure, law and order is back, and
the President United States of America is encouraging all of
those impositions of power around him to do the will
of the people, which is to get rid of illegal
immigrants in this country.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
And finally, story number three.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
The White House has made it very clear that when
it comes to law order, they are a full court
press and a team that is working together, whether it's
the Attorney General's Office, the FBI, and local law enforcement.
And now we have the largest fetanyl seizure in US
history tied to the Cineloa drug cartel. The Attorney General
(10:19):
coming out and sang a sell of the Cineloa cartel
operated in four major US cities. The cartel conducted a
large scale drug distribution operation throughout the western part of
the country that led federal authorities to the largest fetanyl
seizure ever. There was an illegal alien from Mexico that
led the group in the US, and the group ran
(10:40):
one of the largest fetanyl and drug distribution networks the
country has ever seen. Documents from the US Department of
Justice are now revealing the Cineloa cartel boss running this
fetanl empire. As it was described today from Oregon that
she tells you everything you need to know. Oregon sanction
wary policies kept this man safe. Pambondi making it clear
(11:05):
in her statements that this is a problem and it's
taking the lives of countless Americans. The number one killer
of fetanyl in this country is those between the ages
of eighteen and thirty four. And she had a warning
for the American people to tell your kids and your
grandkids about fake pills that are hitting the markets at
(11:26):
record pace.
Speaker 6 (11:27):
The DEA seized eleven point five kilos of fentanyl, including
an astounding approximately three million fentanyl pills, the largest seizure
in our nation's history. These are the pills in the
valves right there the main bottom right.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
The head of.
Speaker 6 (11:49):
This organization, Sinaloa organization here in the country illegally. Six
of these guys and women here in the country illegally.
His name is Uberto Salazar Amaya. He is the leader
and he was living in Salem, Oregon. With him. They
got millions of dollars cash, cars, but the drugs were
(12:11):
in Albuquerque, Phoenix, and Utah. That's how insulated these drug
dealer cartel leaders make themselves. This was an incredible operation
and that's why I wanted all of you here behind me.
It took months and months of work, investigation leading up
(12:31):
to smaller buys, smaller cases to get this massive amount
of drugs and guns off our streets. Five million dollars
approximately in cash, thirty five kilos of metha amphetamine, thirty
five kilos of meth seven point five kilos of cocaine,
(12:51):
four point five kilos of heroin, forty nine rifles and pistols,
all shown in the pictures. And then of course the
three million pills. These pills were stamped as oxy codone.
Let that sink in three million pills going on our streets.
Three million pills the streets of our country laced with
(13:14):
fentanyl labeled as oxycodone, and they were in all different
strengths of fentanyl within them. This operation was made possible
by over fifty five thousand hours of law enforcement investigation.
And this is a really dangerous job that these DEA
(13:35):
agents face every day, but they are getting very dangerous
drugs off of our streets each day.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
As Pambondi said, this is historic drug seizure led by
the DEA is a significant blow against the Cineloa cartel
that removes poison from our streets and protects American citizens
from the scourge of fetanyl. The Attorney General also making
it clear that he has the Trump administration behind her,
(14:03):
saying that we must continue to fight these cartels that
have been declared by Donald Trump a terrorist organization, a
designation it should have been done years ago by the
Biden administration, but instead Democrats are giving them sanctuary in
their city.
