I feel like I don't think I'm in the doghouse,
but I think I upset my significant other Chili in

daughter's got to stay in Boston because she's working in retail.
It's her first job. Hallelujah. Daddy's very happy, and she's
on the schedule for Black Friday. And when you are
new at a job and you work in retail, black
Friday is like the super Bowl.

Yeah, so you don't miss it. She's gonna be up
there for the holidays and not with.

You, and asked if we could come up for Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Oh that's nice.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Well, I said to my significant other, Hey, for Thanksgiving.
You know, my daughter's got to do this in Boston.
I'm thinking I'm going to go up and have you know,
dinner with her, And she was like, oh cool, So
what are we going to do what's the plan? And
I go, well, you don't have to come if you
don't want to. You have your family you want to see,
and this might be one of those things where it's

a quick one off and I'm just going to go
up and see her for a couple of days, then
come back and we can wrap up the things out.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
What I'm going to stop you right there? Uh, you're
giving her an out when she wasn't asking for an out.
She literally said, great, what is our plan? So she
already interjected herself into the plan, meaning she wanted to
spend Thanksgiving with you and your daughter. There was no
need for you to do the whole Listen, if you
don't wanna, you don't have to. You got your own family.

(01:36):
Because it almost comes across as you don't necessarily want
her to join you.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
That's not true, though. I just don't want to labor
her with something that's gonna maybe take away from her
spending time with family, because you know, it's really it's
a disjointed sort of a Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Did she I can see you maybe just mentioning it briefly, like, hey,
you know what if you want to spend it with
your family that's fine. And if she comes back and says, no,
I'd love to be with you, then you should drop it.
Then you shouldn't keep coming back with But I know,
but it's just accept her answer and be happy that
she wants to be with you and just let it go.

Well, she's on a work trip, so I'm going to
try to back myself out of what I said before
I back myself into the doghouse, because nobody needs that
going into the holidays.
