So Toby and Chilli's first date.I'm Safey from rest in Virginia with a
crazy first date story, chilling andthere are listening, So take us on
this adventure. What happened? Well, you're going to have to rewind time
a little bit because it's a veryold story. You have to remember that
Match dot com was like infancy daysand uncool. But I actually created this
(00:21):
person by meeting on match dot com. If we were such nerds we didn't
want to pay for the membership thatwe found each other's user handle and then
started chatting on aim, which wasaol instant messenger for those that are of
that generation, you know, thatwas the cool way to chat with people.
(00:44):
But I'd never dated anyone online beforeand he hadn't either, So we
actually spent a couple of weeks talkinglike chatting on the computer and then talking
in the phone before we ever hadour physical first date, which was what
what did you guys do? Sohow romantic was it? I mean,
I guess that depends on your definition, but it was very much not a
typical first date. We happened toboth go to the same college. I'd
(01:08):
love to say that, you know, looking back, that I have this
great first date story. But wemet in the cafeteria of the college campus
and just had a really awkward conversation. So you guys meet up, it's
a little awkward, getting non traditionalwhat happens. Then at that point he
started telling me the story that hisparents were getting a divorce and his father
(01:32):
had actually moved into his bedroom andhe didn't really have a place to sleep
other than bwardly on the sofa.At this point, I feel like I've
known this person for quite a while. I'm in college, money's tight,
I'm meeting someone I have a lotin common with. I say, hey,
I've got a futan. Do youwant to come stay on my couch?
(01:52):
And so that's what you do withthe strangers. Right, that's quite
an ending to that first date.If he actually came over, then he
never left. We've been married twentytwo years, we have three biological teenage
children, and we're actually adopting afourth child right now. Wow, Wow,
all that pre bonding before that firstcafeteria date really was something else.
(02:15):
Yeah, I guess if you knowyou know, well, because you shared
that story with us, you're goingto have to make a date night to
go see Atlantis Morris in real life, not on YouTube, by the way,
not on YouTube or not on TV. It's actually at Meriweather Post Pavilion
thanks to Live Nation. You haveto go in person to this. You
know, I'm hoping that I candrag him up. We can get out
(02:38):
of the house and offline and intothe music of the olden days as our
children call it, from the nineteenhundreds and relive our youth of Little Bit
