8/22 Crazy First Date – Darcy & The Guy Who Didn't Bring Money

It's crazy first day, Darby, good morning, and welcome Chilian.
I can't wait to hear this crazy first date story.
You've got to lay it on us.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
So about twelve years ago, I was just having no
luck with finding anybody to date or anything. And I
was actually kind of young, so that's understandable. I tried
a new dating website. I think it's Tinder. I think
that's why. When it first came out, and I was
talking to several guys and they all seemed okay, And
then there was this one guy that seemed pretty cool

(00:31):
and we talked a lot, and he shared the same
music we liked, and saying TV shows I like. He
asked me out a couple days later on a bowling date.
I said yes, And when he came and got me,
he seems really cool, very polite, very nice. His car
was clean. We got to the bowling alley for talking

(00:53):
still and fat and everything. We get to the guy
that's given us our shoes and stuff, and we tell
them our sizes, and then when it comes time to
pay and they tell us the price, he turns to
me and he goes, I didn't bring any money.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
With me. Oh good lord.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Well luckily I had my wallet with me, so I
ended up paying. But thinking in my head, I was like,
you're the one that asked me out and you didn't
bring money. Okay, this is starting off strange. Now we
started playing. It was weird at first, and then when
got to talking again, everything singed fun. We were having fun.
And then on the way home we started talking again

(01:29):
and I asked him about his interest. He did nothing
but work. He had no other interest. And then when
it came down to the music and the TV shows
that we talked about earlier, he just was He didn't
really listen to the music very much, he didn't watch
the TV shows very much. He didn't really know what
I was talking about. And from there it just got awkward.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
So he was just faking liking those things for a
chance to see you in person and hope to win
you over that way.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Oh yeah, with no impact to his bottom line because
he didn't show up with any money.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
It may seem silly for us to ask the next question,
but I know it was like that until you got home.
But was there further communication? Was there another date?

Speaker 3 (02:10):
No? I was like, you know what, I'm not going
to try this again.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
He did not throw a strike, no pun intended a ye, no,
or he struck out. Oh that's a different sport. That's
a different sports, right, Sorry, sorry, sorry, it's a bowling thing,
you know. Yes, all the pins are still standing.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Oh my goodness, and so is Darby because she realized
this guy was a clown.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Yeah, not worth it.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
