(03:33):
It's all there, also lots of news from around the globe.
Oh yeah, it's all there. Now we're going to return
to your phone calls and questions. However, I wanted to
get this information out about how a compound in orange
peels can protect you against athlosclerosis. So the next time
(03:57):
you're peeling and organic orange, and you should always try
to get organic oranges rather than conventional oranges, so that
you try to avoid pesticides and insecticides and fungicides and
all the other stuff that they spray onto these orange trees.
(04:18):
Get the organic ones. That's key. It's worth it, You're
worth it. The risk is not worth it because it's cumulative.
And if you think you can wash away the insecticides
on your orange, you can't. It is incorporated. As the
plant is growing, you can't peel it away. But you
(04:38):
should save the peeling, the orange peel of the organic orange,
because it could save your life. It could extend your
life because there's something inside orange peels that can protect
you against heartening of the arteries, which most people have
starting in their teen years. The slow onset of hardening
of the arteries as we age, and some people it's faster.
(05:01):
They smoke cigarettes, or they do unhealthy things, taking in
rancid oils, not exercising. All that stuff can accelerate the
aging process. It's estimated that at least nineteen million Americans
have aflurosclerosis, also known as hardening the arteries or cornery
artery disease c AD. Orange peels, despite being edible, are
(05:30):
highly nutritious, are usually discarded. We kick them to the
trash bucket without a second thought because we don't think
that the orange peel is important, so we just get
rid of it. But a recent study you should know
about was published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food
(05:50):
Chemistry is now urging all of us to reconsider chucking
the orange peel and taking advantage of it by consuming
it because it has so many different beneficial properties to
it it does. Just make sure it's organic. According to
(06:13):
this new study just out that I wanted you to
know about. That I'm excited to share with you today.
Because athlorosclerosis is major. You've got millions of people that
are dying prematurely as a result of it, and the
quality of their life also circles the drain. According to
a big study just out, orange peels contain an active
(06:34):
compound that can help keep your arteries healthy and protect
you against athlosclerosis harding the arteries. Athlosclerosis is a condition
characterized by the buildup of fats, cholesterol, and other substances
collectively known as plaque. You always hear people, oh, yeah,
(06:56):
plaqued arteries. They want to go in and do an
end arterectomy of my of my carotid arteries. They want
to do a bypass, they want to do a stint
I've got plaque, I'm clogged up. I've got the widow
maker and her descending coronary artery. You know I've got
They've got to go in and wrote to rooter me.
You've heard it all and you say, oh, it will
(07:18):
never happen to me. It's just my late uncle or
my aunt, or my mom or my father they had it.
I'm not going to get it. Well, blockage happens, folks,
and you never know who's going to be And sometimes
that's why they call it the silent killer. It can
be without any symptoms at all. In fact, about twenty
(07:38):
five percent of people who have a heart attack will
never have one symptom. At least twenty five percent not
a symptom, No chest pain, no angina, no shortness of breath,
just boom gone. Heart disease is the number one killer
in the US. Wait a minute, let me correct myself.
(08:01):
It's actually the second leading cause of death in America.
Medical miscare or medical care is number one. That's the
number one cause of death in America. It is unfortunately,
they don't mean for it to be, but it just
it happens. Adverse reactions to drugs, surgeries, you've been there,
(08:22):
done that, You've heard it. But according to the Centers
for Disease Control and Quasi Prevention, heart disease is the
leading cause of death among men, women, and people of
racial and ethnic groups in America. In fact, the data
(08:42):
suggests that a person dies of heart disease every thirty
three seconds. That's how prolific this disease is. Every thirty
three seconds in America, somebody dies from heart disease. The
most common type of heart disease is coronary heart disease HD,
which is said to kill an estimated three almost three
(09:06):
hundred and seventy six thousand people each year by itself.
Coronary heart disease is caused by athlorosclerosis. The topic where
you are on right now, the build up a plaque
inside the lining of the large coronary arteries that supplies
oxygen rich blood to the heart. So partial or complete
(09:28):
blockage of the coronary arteries you have coronary arteries, ladies,
and all of us do deprives the heart of the
much needed oxygen, which can lead to a heart attack,
also known as the course of milocardioinfarction. A heart attack
can destroy part of your heart muscle and depending on
(09:49):
the damage, can be fatal. As many of you know,
several factors can increase your risk of coronary heart disease.
And while some factors such as age and genetics are unavoidable,
other risk factors of coronary heart disease, such as high
levels inflammation that's the smoking gun, that's the one we
(10:12):
need to be focusing on. A high blood pressure, are
certainly preventable. With healthy lifestyle changes, you can prevent plaque
build up in your arteries leading to this thing you
don't want, coronary heart disease. And when we come back
from this break, I'm going to state for you might
(10:33):
want to get something right with and right on, I'm
going to state some lifestyle changes that you can make
easily that can help keep your heart and your blood
vessels healthy. And then I'm going to explain further about
this compound they discovered in orange peel that can protect
against athlorosclerosis or hardening the arteries. You're tuned into the
(10:55):
Doctor Bob Martin show you you make I welcome you
(11:22):
or welcome you back to this hour of the Doctor
Bob Martin showing if you like what you are hearing
right now, and you think other people could benefit through it.
Maybe loved want, a friend, a neighbor, a co worker,
then invite them to tune into the program. The simple
way to do that is jot down the call letters
of the radio station you're listening to, whether it's an
amor FM station, the frequency on the die whole time
(11:44):
of the day, and just pass out on to as
many people as you can. We love that that helps
other people. That's what this show is dedicated to. It's
what this show is all about. Helping people safely and
naturally become educated about their health so they can take
charge of their health and become their own best doctors.
Most of the time. Now, granted I could be doing
(12:05):
something during the day on the weekend we do the show,
but I would rather do this. I love helping people.
That's my mission, that's my goal. That's my desk today,
all right now. Before we took that last break, I
was talking about this amazing study that's out about a
compound in orange peels that can protect us against hardening
(12:29):
of the arteries. Every one of us is going to
develop harding of the arteries eventually. Some of us get
it earlier, than others, depending on our lifestyle and other factors.
But I'm here to help you to better understand how
you can take charge of your health and be your
own best doctor by learning these things and then putting
them into action and not needing crisis management or having
(12:49):
a short lifespan or a life cut short by something
you could have prevented. And I'm getting ready to tell
you about some of the lifestyle changes that you can
make to keep your heart healthy and your blood vessels healthy.
But i want you to make sure that you have
our toll free phone number into this program so that
you can call in any time of the night or
(13:11):
day and ask a question about your own health. And remember,
the only bad health question is the one you're not asking,
So jot this number down for safekeeping. Maybe you have
somebody that you care about that's not doing so good
they need it, or you can call in on their
behalf vicariously, that's fine with me. The number into the
(13:32):
show for health related questions or comments. Eight hundred six
zero six eighty eight twenty two. Eight hundred six zero
six eighty eight twenty two. Now you can also call
into the program and heap praise on host which means
that if you like what you hear on this radio show,
(13:56):
and or you've benefited by listening to it, and you
put something into action and you have responded to it
favorably and want to share that with the audience, you
may do so. Also we call those health strokers. We
call those hell strokers, because if you listen to talk
radio at all, you hear other hosts who will brag
about themselves literally the whole time they're on the air,
(14:20):
literally fracturing their back to pat themselves on the back.
We don't do that here. I let other people stroke me,
meaning give me compliments, and you can certainly do that
on our toll free number, which I'm going to give
you here momentarily. So if there's something you've benefited through
this show, do you like it, or you want to
praise it, give some praise to it, you may do so.
(14:42):
We call those health strokers. It feels so much better
to let somebody else stroke you than be a self stroker.
At least that's my philosophy. I'm sticking with it. Our
toll free number eight hundred six zero six eighty eight
twenty two eight hundred six to zero six eighty eight,
twenty t two in the website doctor bob dot com
(15:02):
spelling out the door, doctor doctor bob dot com, Doctor
bob dot com. Right here we go. Here, here's the
list of lifestyle changes that can help keep your heart
and blood vessels healthy. Since we know that heart disease
is the number two killer behind medical miscare number one.
Exercise on a regular basis. Be more physically active. Everybody
(15:24):
knows about that. We need to get more of it.
It's so important to do that. You could be on
the best die and the best supplements and the best
mental attitude you can. If you're not exercising, you're missing
the bout. So start slow, build up. Find something you enjoy,
something you can stick with that becomes a behavior. I
(15:44):
personally like to exercise outdoors I do. I love to
hike steep mountains. That's my deal. You can find yours.
Just get moving. Next, get enough quality sleep. Sleep is
so important. Make sure that bedroom there's no light coming
into that bedroom, the bedroom is nice and cool, there's
(16:07):
no sound, you don't have a TV rollin or a
radio roll and no good Your brain will try to
figure all that out and keep you awake. So get
some quality sleep at least seven eight hours of sleep
per night. Next, if you're smoking, please quit. Your relatives
(16:27):
will appreciate that you being around longer. Avoid exposure to
secondhand smoke too. Don't be in the same room as
a choker. Manage your stress levels. We all are under
certain levels of stress in life. Let's face it. You
just got to figure out a way to manage it.
If it's excessive, try to find ways to rebuke it,
(16:48):
counteract it. There are ways to do that, biofeedback, exercise, sex,
There's all kinds of ways to reduce stress, positive mental thinking.
I mean, there's prey, koga, whatever it may be. Find
that stress reducer and utilize it on a regular basis. Next,
eat a well balanced diet. I'm a big fan of
(17:10):
the Mediterranean style diet. These other extremes of keto on
one end and extreme veganism on the other end. Some
people do really well with those, and they're applicable many times,
and you can't you can't complain about results. But long term,
long term Mediterranean dial and Mediterranean diet it's easier to
(17:37):
stay on, to comply to, and I think it just
it just continues to show a wider array of people
advantage themselves by eating a more Mediterranean style diet. It's
the diet I eat and it served me well. But
again you can there's all nuances on either end, depending
(17:58):
on the person, depending on their activity and their needs. Next,
make sure that you're taking nutritional supplements to fill in
for the nutrients that you may be missing in your diet.
We can't all eat completely raw food twenty. You know,
when we're awake, we're going to get into some processed foods,
(18:18):
and some of us from time to time eat ultra
processed foods. You should stay away from them as much
as you can because they're nutrient devoid and they're not
as good for you as whole foods. But that's what
nutritional supplements are about. That's why it's important to take
nutritional supplements to fill in the gaps where you're otherwise
(18:39):
not able to get those through the food that you're eating.
Maybe it's your schedule, maybe it's the taste or some
other limitation. Just make sure that you have a good
supplement regimen. And if you don't know what that is,
by all means, hire a clinical nutritionist, some doctor who's
learned maybe in nutrition to guy. You along the way
(19:01):
back to the issue of the the orange peel being
effective against athlosclerosis. Research shows that being physically active, of course,
we know strengthens you. We just went over that, But
there are a lot of other things that create inflammation.
(19:21):
Some of them are the things that you can manage
and simply quash by getting more sleep. Lack of sleep
increases inflammation, a risk factor for heart disease. Some believe
it's even more critical than high cholesterol. I happen to
be one of those people, depending on what type of cholesterol,
(19:44):
and those things can damage your heart and damage your
blood vest and restrict blood flow. So people don't get
who don't get enough sleep. I don't care how many
orange peels you're eating, it's not going to be that
effective for you. Similarly, studies, of course show that smoking
and inhaling second and smoke can also be instant long
(20:09):
term damage to your system, raising your blood pressure. And
there's not an orange peel in the world, no matter
how many you eat, is going to counter that. And
if you're on a diet that is high in sugar,
same difference, and high in transfats, your athlorosclerosis is coming
(20:29):
to you. Soon. You want to try to avoid that
as well by integrating the type of diet that is
best for you. More vegetables, fruit, healthy protein sources, lean meats, poultry,
nut seeds, the right seafoods, legomes, and one hundred percent
whole grains only non GMO. We'll get to the compound
(20:54):
in orange peel that reduces athlosclerosis after this. Are you
waiting for the writ?
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Excuse are you waiting for.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Site and shoes?
Speaker 4 (21:06):
Why are you waiting?
Speaker 3 (21:07):
It's the time is money, I'm on the fine type.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
Mon.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Are you in all right? Doctor Bob marchin back with you.
So so happy that you tuned into the program today
and appreciate you being there. The website doctor Bob dot
com for all the news that we post up there
on a regular basis. That's where the podcast, meaning recordings
(21:46):
of past shows are there for you to listen to
if you missed the show or you just want to
hear the show all over again, or prefer a friend
to the program. That's fine. You got the social media
platforms there, Instagram, uh X, LinkedIn, it's all there, and
we have a toll free number into the program where
you can call in and ask a question about your
health or make a health related comment. You're gonna hear
(22:10):
me answer the phone. You simply state your first name,
the city and state you're living in, and your question
or your comment that number eight hundred six zero six
eighty eight twenty two. Eight hundred six zero six eighty
eight twenty two. We'll get back to this information that
I've been talking about related to how a compound in
(22:30):
orange peels can help protect against heartening of the arteries.
We're getting to that information slowly but surely, as we're
winding through this and reminding you about the basics first,
and we'll get to the payoff of that and what's
in this orange bio why it's so magical. On referring
to athleosclerosis. First, this though, thinking of your heart. We're
(22:53):
talking about heart health right now. This is germane to
that everybody wants to have good heart healthy how important
it is. It is, after all, the number two killer
after medical miscare. Your heart is critical to your health.
Who doesn't know that your heart is responsible for pumping
nutrient rich blood throughout your body. You can't live without
(23:14):
a heart. You can't live without a functioning heart. Supplying
that important all important oxygen to your body and helping
to remove the toxins and the waste that you're coming
in contact with every single day just through metabolism and
environmental toxins. You've got to keep that heart pump and strong,
(23:35):
maintain a healthy heart. That's the goal. And you know
what they're finding out now in science Nature, Mother Nature's
coming through again with another plant, another herb discovered to
help your heart stay healthy. It's called red sage. Have
you heard of it? Oh, you pretty much have most
likely have heard of the herb sage, But have you
(23:57):
heard of red sage plus? Red sage plus. This is
actually a product that's been developed based on the research,
based on the science that shows that this sage plant,
particularly the red sage is so powerful to support heart health.
This heart healthy formula red sage plus from arry naturally
vitamins supports circulation and keeps your cardiovascular system strong. Now,
(24:22):
the research, some of the research came out of the
University of Monaste in Tunisia, discovering that red sage not
only helps the heart to stay healthy, but it also
helps improve insulin sensitivity and reduces inflammation. Both of those
are involved in heart disease. The scientists concluded that red
Sage may be a powerful alternative that can support healthy
(24:44):
blood sugar levels. Red Sage Plus, the supplement from Terry
Naturally Vitamins, combines the power of HRS sixty five, red
Sage and red Gensen to help maintain blood vessels and
arteries and support healthy blood pressure and cholesterol balance already
normal limits. Red Sage plus HRS sixty five delivers powerful
(25:06):
cell protecting antioxidants to maintain optimal artery health, while the
HRG eighty rengidsing is an adaptag in. Clinical studies have
helped to show that it helps your body to stay
resilient in the face of emotional or occasional stress. Physical
or emotional a major factor. By the way, we know
(25:28):
stress is in heart health. So support your cardiovascular system,
your blood sugar balance, and manage your stress more effectively
with red Sage. Red Sage Plus is available at your
local health food store, or you can go to Terry
Naturally Vitamins dot Com Terry Naturallyvitamins dot Com for red
(25:50):
Sage Plus. You can also find Terry Naturally Vitamins, red
Sage Plus and Finer health food stores nationwide all right,
back to the information about how orange peels. We're winding
through this about how orange peel. Something inside that orange
peel that you're throwing away is magical and you should
(26:11):
be using it because it can reduce your risk of
coronary heart disease. It can. There's a compound there. Earlier
studies have found the connection between heart disease and of course,
commensal bacteria residing in the human gut. One such study
was published in Frontiers in Endrochronology, reported that gut bacteria
(26:33):
metabolized dietary chaline and carnastine. Those are important nutrients nutrients
present in anomal products into another substance which can be
tested for in your blood called tmo, a compound that
inhibits cholesterol metabolism and induces plate that aggregation or sticky
(26:54):
blood cells will say okay. But these findings are showing
the considerable potential of using orange peel in helping to
prevent heart disease. Researchers found that the fractions the fractions
(27:15):
polar fractions found in orange peels effectively regulated athlosclerosis related
markers biomarkers that reduce a substance called TMO, a compound
you do not want high in your bloodstream because it
causes your blood to coagulate, It causes the viscosity of
(27:38):
the blood to thicken and these platelets to clot up
and promote hardening of the arteries. So here you have,
and they've proven this through studies. Here you have orange peel,
a substance in orange peels that are incredibly versatile. The
ingredient can easily be added to a variety of recipes
(28:04):
that can help to reduce or stave off the effects
of hardening of the arteries. In addition to that, there
are health supporting phytonutrients and orange peels. They're a good
source of vitamin A, a precursor that you need, vitamin B
(28:25):
one B, two B six B nine, fol eate, and
vitamin C and calcium, and of course they're dietary fibers.
Orange peels the things that you've been thrown away and
if it's not organic, toss it because I wouldn't eat
the orange peel if it wasn't an organic orange. And
it'll say on there, if it's an organic orange, it's
worth it. Orange peels can be eaten on their own, candied.
(28:48):
Do it through maybe monk fruit or yak kon or honey.
You can add them to drinks, desserts, used to flavored dishes,
And there are many ways you can can use orange
peels in the kitchen, lots of ways. You just gotta
know that this exists and find out how to do it.
(29:11):
But every time you peel an orange, maybe save it,
throw it in your smoothie, a couple pieces of it
in your smoothie, or cut a little slivers up into
little pieces and throw it into your salad. Because here
you have some very compelling information out about the nutrients
(29:32):
in orange peel, how they can reduce or help to
reduce athosclerosis or hardening of the arteries, a major issue
in America today. Who would have thunk it? All right,
stay with us, we're coming right back. You are tuned
(29:52):
into the Doctor Bob Martin show.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
Us.
Speaker 5 (30:08):

(31:18):
dot com spelling out the word doctor. Or we have
a toll free number into our caller hotline where you
can lay down a health related question or comment. That
number jotted down for safe keeping eight hundred six zero
(31:39):
six eighty eight twenty two eight hundred six zero six
eighty eight twenty two to ask a question about your
health or someone else's health, or make a health related comment.
All right, let's get back to work with your calls.
Next up is Cindy, and Cindy is calling it from
the state of Texas.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
I come morning, doctor Baumer named iss Sunday, and I'm
in Texas and I've asked question a couple of times
about my husband and he can't see eye drops, and
I've parach a program the last two weeks and I
haven't heard a response. If you are aware of any
other help he can get as far as if there's
nerve damage, the doctor told him that that's pretty well.
(32:20):
The ophthalmologists told him that there's pretty much it that wants.
It's nerve damage. There's nothing to help. They just continue
to check the pressure twice a year and give him drops.
He did have glack homa surgery back in twenty I
think eleven, and they put in a new lens and
they said that again there's nothing they can't like, you know,
(32:43):
clean the lens or redo the lens or anything like that.
So just a few weeks ago he told him it
was pretty much it. So I just wanted to know
if you knew I've been the other options. And like
I said it previously, I was interested in you can
see drops for him? I wasn't able, well, I have
a so far I've been able to get them due
(33:05):
to financial concerns, But I just want to know if
you think that the cancy drops have they been known
to help with even nerve damage. I will listen again
this Sunday, and I am so glad I found your show.
I just found it this year, So thank you for
all that you do, and have a great day.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
Thank you all right, Cindy, thank you for your phone
call and appreciate you calling them from the state of Texas.
I am so sorry that you didn't get a chance
to hear because I remember your question and I did
answer it on the air. You may have missed it
because we do have a three hour program and sometimes
you'll miss one segment or you go out of the room.
(33:46):
But it's worth it. You're such a sweet person. It's
worth repeating some of the information here. I don't mind
doing that for you because you've been such a sweetheart
and you're such a nice lady. So yeah, it would
be important for your husband to try at least for
three months using the can See eye drops. And there
(34:10):
are people who are listening right now that may not
be aware of what they are. They are a non
prescription eye drop which is revolutionary at preventing and reversing cataracts.
And this has been clinically studied, proven, peer reviewed, published
in medical journals. But what's interesting about this can See
(34:35):
eye drop formulation originally designed and earmarked for cataracts. Is
that people with age related macular degeneration or retinal problems,

know of anything that can be done. Don't give up

know everything. The more I know as a doctor, the
more I realize I don't know. So be hopeful and
wishful that something can help, and definitely include the cancy drops.

from a French author who famously said, tell me what
