then you've come to the right place. Welcome, Welcome everyone
to this hour of the Doctor Bob Martin's show. I'm
Doctor Bob and I will be taking your phone calls
very shortly here. But I wanted to begin this hour
(01:41):
with a topic that should be of interest to parents
and grandparents and parents to be related to what you're
feeding your child in terms of baby food, because we
learn once again that baby food is under siege. More
than half of commercial baby foods are unhealthy, and you
(02:06):
should know more about this topic. Despite growing concerns over
processed foods and their impact on health of infants and children,
they continue to dominate grocery store shelves and we read
about it and hear about it in the news, and
then we go, oh, no, I fed my kid that
food they're talking about. Well, many food foods marketed for
(02:30):
infants and toddlers are unhealthy and may lead to increased
levels of obesity, poor dietary habits begin, and chronic diseases begin,
according to a new study examining many of the most
common baby food products on the market today. Researchers analyzing
(02:56):
six hundred and fifty one products from ten US grocery chains,
discovered that sixty percent of the processed foods fell short
of nutritional requirements. The foods sampled were intended for children
(03:18):
six to thirty six months old. What an important time
of life to be giving the best and the healthiest
foods to our offspring, to our children, to set them
into motion for a great start. Wow, it just doesn't
happen when you see headlines that tell us that more
(03:41):
than half of commercial baby foods are unhealthy in America,
It's amazing. The lowest compliance was found for total protein
and total sugar, with over seventy percent of the products
failing to meet protein requessronments and forty four percent exceeding
(04:03):
total sugar requirements. That according to researchers who wrote the
study that was published recently in the journal Nutrients, the
rising popularity of processed convenience foods for young children is
very concerning. According to Elizabeth Dunford, Assistant professor of nutrition
(04:28):
at the University of Carolina and co author of a study,
she said, and I quote, early childhood is critical in
terms of a period of rapid growth and when taste
preferences in dietary habits form potentially paving the way for
(04:48):
the development of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and
some forms of cancer later in life.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
Close quote well.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Many baby foods, specifically pure based foods designed for weaning
off breast milk or formula, may not be appropriate at
the start of solid food introduction because they are high
in sugar and low in the right types of fat,
(05:25):
in proteins, and other important nutrients such as iron. And
According to the study, forty four percent of baby foods
exceed the sugar requirements, which is a horrible thing to
get children that young started on junk food, doctor Dunford said,
(05:50):
and I quote our findings highlight the urgent need for
better regulation and guidance in infant and toddler foods here
in the United States. The health of future generations depend
on it.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
Close quote well.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Another health expert by the name of Katie Talento, an
epidemiologist informer and lead health advisor to the White House,
is concerned about the widespread use of food not found
in nature and has been responsible for the rise in
obesity among children. Yeah, this is where the obesity thing
(06:31):
starts is when we start feeding them junk food.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
In the form of what.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Is supposed to be healthy babyfood, and unsuspecting mothers and
fathers are doing this. They're just trusting that everything out
there is just fine. They're looking out for you, not
so much. Low protein content is a significant factor in
baby food because of the key role protein plays in
(06:54):
childhood development. Babies are doubling the size of their bodies
size during the first year to build muscle, to crawl,
to walk, and to do all the things they need
to do next. They need healthy fat. Protein is the most,
of course, critical essential thing for babies. In the study,
(07:16):
more than seventy percent of the products failed to meet
protein recommendations, which is outrageous on its own. And many
of these popular pouches, you know, these baby food pouches
that their mothers are now feeding, their mothers and fathers
are feeding their babies, they pose a risk. These food pouches,
the fastest growing product segment in the baby food air arena,
(07:41):
are among the unhealthiest of all baby foods. That's what
the researchers found. The snack sized packages had the lowest
compliance with nutrient requirements.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
That's what the researchers wrote. They said, and I quote.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
These findings highlight that work is needed to improve the
nutritional quality of commercially produced infant and toddler foods in
the United States. The study showed that the use of
these baby food pouches has grown by nine hundred percent
(08:18):
during the past thirteen years, dominating the baby food market
with nearly fifty percent of all products on the shelves
just measured last year. Another food, another group of foods
marketed for young children, snack and finger foods, had a
(08:39):
low rating of compliance as well with nutritional and promotional guidelines.
And what they're complaining of here, of course, is misleading
labeling very common. A more honest labeling of baby foods
would have a significant impact on the consumption habits of
these babies. A major problem is that the regulatory agencies,
(09:04):
the US Food and Drug Administration and the US Department
of Agriculture are not looking out for the best interests
of parents and their children, and we talked about this
in our number one. If you missed our number one
of this radio program, I would encourage you to go
(09:27):
to my podcast library as of this coming Wednesday at
doctor Bob dot com, DCTO r Bob dot com and
get into our number one, where I played an audio
recording of Bobby Kennedy Junior. He was speaking. He was
invited to speak at a rally for former President Donald
(09:50):
Trump while he was in the state of Arizona.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
They were both on the stage. It was a big
deal and Robert F.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Kennedy Junior talked about the dilemma of how many of
these chronic diseases that people develop, they start in childhood,
and they start with the poisoning of our food supply
or water supply that is allowed our government has allowed,
the FDA, the CDC, and the USDA has allowed to
get into the food supply, and how he would love
(10:19):
to be participating in fixing that problem along with former
President Donald Trump, and they were on stage talking about it.
If you didn't get a chance to hear that, you should.
It'll be in my podcast library as of this coming
Wednesday at doctor Bob dot com.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
It's amazing docto r Bob dot.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
Com and then look for our number one of the
program and you'll be able to hear that more than
half of commercial baby foods are unhealthy.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Not good all right.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Coming up is the health Alternative of the Week. Stand
by for that and then we're going to go to
your phone calls and questions. I'm doctor Bob Martin.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
Everybody here, everybody is get it to it, get started, starting,
start starting, let's status start it, Let's get it, start it,
Let's get this start it.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
All right, you're tuned into the doctor Bob Martin Show.
I thank you for that.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
We're going to get back to your phone calls and
questions very shortly. And if there is a question on
your mind related to your own health and you need help,
I'm here for you and I'll do my best to
help you out. All you have to do is call
into our Callerr hotline phone number anytime of the night

(11:40):
toll free nationwide eight hundred six zero six eight eight
two to two eight hundred six zero six eight eight
two two. The website doctor Bob dot Com spelling out
the word doctor for all things news and everything else.
All right, before we go back to your phone calls
(12:01):
and questions, it's time now for this week's health alternative
of the Week. Well, it just so happens that the
health alternative ties right into what we just spoke about
(12:23):
in the last segment. With the fact that about fifty
percent of all the baby foods that you find out
there in the marketplace are unhealthy, and these pouches and
all these different baby foods are found to be deficient
in proteins or the right fats or the right nutrients. Well,
the health alternative of the Week kind of addresses that,
(12:45):
giving you an option, giving you an alternative to that
which you may be using that's not as healthy here
it is. This week's health alternative is called Once upon
a Farm Organic baby Food. There's your answer. The dilemma
is that, and it doesn't mean if you're the parents
(13:05):
of children, grandparents of children, and you know your children
are going to plan on having a family, or they're
in the process of that, or they have young babies,
pass this information onto them.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
They may not know.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
That fifty percent of the baby foods that are available
commercially in the grocery stores right now are unhealthy. And
you'll be able to pass this information onto them through
the health alternative of that we heard right here on
the Doctor Bob Martin show, Once Upon a Farm Organic Babyfood.
That's what you're going to be looking for. It's the
healthier alternative than the standard brands out there. You might
(13:43):
be asking where is this available. It's available at all
natural grocer stores. Go to naturalgrocers dot com naturalgrocers dot com.
You're looking for once upon a farm organic babyfood that
ensures that the babies that you're caring about are not
going to get pesticides and other undesirable things in their food.
(14:05):
And here is some personal advice for you and your
loved ones to escape the baby food rut and help
your children learn to eat a variety of healthy foods.
Don't let your own taste buds get in the way.
Your children might love them, but are they healthy. My
advice is to introduce new foods gradually feed your baby
(14:28):
the one new food at a time, in other words,
sort of a mono food. We did this recently with
our great grandchild. First one feed the child one food
at a time to see if they have any level
of allergenicity. Along with breastfeeding if you're doing that, which
(14:49):
I am an advocate of. Of course, all six of
my children were breastfed a year and slowly we introduced
foods into their diet to make sure they didn't have
any in tolerance to those foods. One at a time.
That's how you do it. That's how you locate any
food intolerance. Dark leafy greens, Swiss chart kale, spinach, collar
(15:14):
greens all have high concentrations of vitamins and antioxidants to
help support your baby's growth and development. It's so easy
to blend kale and spinach into their soups and even smoothies.
But you can find it. The baby foods that you're
(15:34):
looking for at the level of health food stores like
natural groceures, but you got to make sure you got
the right one. And the one that I think is fantastic,
which my great grandson is now consuming, is Once upon
a Farm organic babyfood. You've also got a cauliflower and
cabbage and broccoli and Brussels sprouts chalk full of important nutrients.
You've got whole grains, of course, but you need those
(15:58):
whole grains for the baby to have. The baby exposed
to new textures and encourages babies to use their mouth
and tongue, which also help them form sounds. My new
great grandson, Luca is now fifteen months old. He loves
spicy food because that's what his parents eat. They use
(16:20):
mild spices like cinnamon, and nutmeg without adding salt or sugar. Spices,
of course, are rich in plant compounds and linked to
numerous health benefits. Food does taste better when flavored with
aromatics like onions and garlic and leaks and shallots and
scallions and chives. These veggies are called alums. They pack
(16:43):
a big nutritional punch, boosting immunity and reducing inflammation. Making
baby food at homes sounds great, but let's face it,
it's not that practical for a lot of people. It's
kind of a hassle, but it can be done. The
variety of baby foods out out there, from jars, pouches,
and cereals and pures can be overwhelming too, and especially
(17:05):
those that are unhealthy. Thankfully, you can find high quality
organic baby food that are nutritionally tasty, and the one
that we're focusing on this week is the week's this
week's health alternative of the week called Once Upon a Farm.
It's a product found at all natural grocery stores, and
(17:28):
our great grandson Luca loves their fruits and veggie blends
and their dairy free smoothies. They're his favorites. So check
it out or have your children who have young children babies.
Look at it over at Naturalgrocers dot com. Once Upon
a Farm organic babyfood. This week's health alternative of the week.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
And when you.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Consider fifty percent of the stuff in the big box
grocery stores unhealthy, this is a.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
Great health alternative of the week.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
All right, We're going to now return to your phone
calls and questions. Next up, we say hello to Rose
in Alaska.
Speaker 6 (18:08):
My name is Rose. I'm calling from Alaska, and yes,
I enjoy listening to your show. I Guess on Sunday,
comes on Sunday. I have purchased the and one on
one excellent, excellent.
Speaker 7 (18:26):
I love it.
Speaker 6 (18:30):
I have a question, how do you get rid of shingles?
I break out in shingles the size of quarters and
a half dollars. One time I had them in one spot,
four different places, four different places. I'm very painful, and
(18:50):
I was just wondering if you know how to get
shingles under control. Thank you very much about.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
Them, all right, Rose, I'm sorry to hear your suffering.
There are ways to help yourself with shingles. One start
taking something called black elderberry extrac You can get it
a health food stores. It's strongly anti viral against viruses
like shingles. Also, you want to increase vitamin D. Vitamin
(19:18):
D is a very important vitamin that's often deficient in
people who get and retain viruses, and you want to
take initially, probably in your case because you have shingles,
maybe twenty five thousand ius of vitamin D three. I
would take that on a daily basis for a week,
(19:40):
and then after a week I would drop down to
ten thousand ius a vitamin D and then eventually go
over to your doctor's office and have them measure your
bloodstream for vitamin D content, so you can modulate the
dose of the vitamin D that you're taking up or
down depending on the reading. There's also an herb called
(20:02):
andrographis paniculata androg piniculata, which is strongly anti viral. You
can get that product under the brand label Terry Naturally
vitamins eat lots of garlic and onions in your diet.
They are escrotic, which means that in spicy foods in
general are escrotic, which means viruses they don't like it
(20:25):
because it's corrosive to them and they want to leave
the scene. You can use garlic, or if you don't
like to eat garlic, you can take kyolic aged garlic extract.
I also like people taking a Regano liquid concentrated regano
oil for shingles. It helps rid the body of this
shingles virus. So you have a lot of options there.
(20:46):
Plenty of sleep, eat right, lower your stress, drink plenty
of pure water rose. I hope you feel better soon,
and I do thank you for your phone call. I'm
doctor Bob Martin.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
Everybody's got fay mistakes, but everybody's got a choice to make.
Everybody needs to leave the faith when he's taking yours money.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
You in fun, welcome or welcome back to this hour
the Doctor Bob Martin Show. I'm doctor Bob here in
the capacity of helping you to get healthier.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
Naturally, we'll get right back.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
To your phone calls and questions very shortly here, but
we have next on our agenda, this week's installment of
the Health Outrage of the Week.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
She's right, you don't come on It's Tom for the
Health Aubreach because it's nothing bullet.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
It is outrageous and I want to call it to
your attention because a lot of people are getting sucked
into cosmetic surgeries that they regret, and then they get
on social media and they issue alerts and warnings to
other people, which I appreciate, but the whole beginning of that,
(22:17):
the start of that is in my mind wondering, don't
they believe that there could be some risk involved in
having these procedures done that are not life threatening and
are optional, that are not necessary just because of vaineness.
And I get why people do things like that, and
(22:38):
it's certainly they're progative. But these social influencers get out
there on the social media, on Instagram and TikTok, and
they brag about these things and they show what they've had,
encouraging others to do it, and then others do it,
and then something goes wrong that's outrageous. Their influence on
(22:58):
other young, impressionable people, well, here you have them. The
health out rage of the week is a model, a
model issuing warning to women about these butt fillers and
saying that it robbed her a basic human function. And
she says the suffering is intense, and I feel bad
(23:20):
for her in her suffering now, But as a social
media influencer, she influenced others do the very same thing
she did, and it was a very bad outcome. An
influencer and model has revealed that her dreams of becoming
a mother have been shattered due to having too many
(23:41):
filler injections in her posterior her butt. Jennifer Pappaloma thirty one,
often hits the headlines due to her surgery addicted lifestyle,
spending more than a million dollars to look like her
idol Kim Kardashian. Now she has received the heartbreaking news
(24:07):
that she has a low chance or no chance of
conceiving a baby due to complications from buttocks fillers. She says,
and I quote I always dreamed of being a mother, Jennifer,
a close quote from Jennifer, who boasts one million followers
now on Instagram. She says, since I was young, I
(24:30):
imagined the moment I would have my own children and
start a family. She goes on to say, now I
see that being that being destroyed by something I thought
was a solution to improve my appearance. The suffering is immense,
she says, and the pain of not being able to
create life is something I never imagine facing. Well, let's
(24:57):
hope that this social media influencer who had a lot
of eyeballs looking at what she was doing with spending
a million dollars on trying to become somebody she's not
Kim Kardashian. Hopefully she did not influence other women to
(25:17):
make the same mistake. She made ill advised mistake to
get all these fillers into her body, which apparently is
now risking her being not able to have a child
being infertile in the future. This polymethyl methacrylate PMMA a
substance used in creating dermal fillers that are injected into
(25:41):
the human body, often for improving the skin's contour or
helping fix scarring. It Also, it is also the go
to for buttocks augmentations. In other words, they just stick
it in and fill her up with this poisonous petrochemical.
The outrage here is why are on Earth do people
(26:01):
buy into the fact that there's no adverse side effects?
And further, why do we allow doctors to keep duping
their customers knowing the risks are this high. I wonder
if this doctor who did her butt filler technique even
explain to her that there was a risk of you
(26:22):
never ever having a child. If I inject this into
your buttox to try to make your butt more plump
so that you're more like Kim Kardashian, and I dare
say that doctor who injected it probably did not cover that.
Maybe there was a long contract, a small print that
went on for pages and pages, which most people just
(26:43):
look at glaze over, and then they just sign it
with a hope and a wish and faith and belief
in the fact that everything's just going to be just fine,
no problem. However, there are risks every single time you
get sucked into these kinds of things, including inflammation and
infections and now in her case, infertility and the fact
(27:05):
that she may not ever have a child as a
result of this. So that's one thing. The outrage is
one thing that is happening to her. The other is
the young women who may have been looking at her
social media platform Instagram and doing the very same thing.
That is outrageous, and that is why it qualified as
(27:29):
the outrage of the week. If you've got young, impressionable
people in your life, make sure you talk to them
about this very topic. These you never know if they're
going to land on somebody's web page like this woman
Jennifer Pampalona encouraging these kinds of things. She is surgically addicted,
(27:52):
and these young, impressionable young women are looking at them, Oh,
look how much different I can be.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
I hate the way I look.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
I can do this, and I can do that without
realizing the complications and the risks that are potentially associated
with it.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
And to have this go.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
On to the degree that it is, and to have
young women impacted by people like this Jennifer Pammeloma is outrageous.
It's health outrageous. I don't know if there's any way
to stop it, but I think it's all about education.
It's about how we as parents and grandparents help to
(28:29):
better educate the young people in our lives so that
when they run into this issue, they know how to
themselves rebuke it and say, you know what, I love
who I am and I am not going to go
to the extent of ever ever taking the risks like
(28:51):
this woman did. Because here she is, after the fact,
coming back on the social media platform saying that her
life has been shattered because she did exactly what she
recommended to her followers, a million followers. Amazing that these
(29:13):
people garner that and there's no recourse for someone watching
this woman's platform if they have the same problem or
even worse than she does.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
And so just be careful and be talking to your young.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
Daughters and sons about these social media platforms and what
they may pick up, and even your grandchildren so as
they don't get caught up in the.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
Web of this as well.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
All right, when we come back, we're going to have
a product recall for you and then get right back
to your phone calls and questions. You're tuned into the
Doctor Bob Martinshell.

Speaker 4 (31:11):

Speaker 3 (31:13):
All right, it's time now for the product recall of
the week.
Speaker 4 (31:19):
Trader Joe's in the news again.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
The company recalls mango tangerine seted candles due to fire hazard.
The candle flame can spread from the wick to the wax,
causing a larger than expected flame, posting a fire hazard.
There's been at least fourteen reports of incidents involving high
flames with recalled candles, including three reports of minor property
damage in two reports of burns. Remedies if you've been
(31:44):
shopping in Trader Joe's stores, which I never do because
I don't like their stores for a whole long list
of reasons. I'm not gonna tell you, but it's long,
and I wouldn't shop at Trader Joseph I were you.
The remedy is if you got their mango tangerine set
and candles over there, take them back at your money back.
They were manufactured here in the United States, and there
(32:06):
were six hundred and fifty three thousand of those units
that went out of there, which is large.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
That's Product Greene call of the Week.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
We move right from the Product gree Call of the
Week to the top ten list we have for you today,
the top ten toxic habits that can sabotage your success
and happiness.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
Here we go, but.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
We are all creatures of habit, often falling into certain
patterns of thought and behavior. Right now, the issue is
that some of these habits can be toxic and hinder
a progress towards success. However, if you can break free
from bad habits, replace them with good ones, and establish
new routines these positive habits, we will.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
Contribute to your success.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
We start with number ten on the list of top
ten toxic habits that can sabotage your success and habit
ten making excuses number ten, Number nine procrastination. Successful people
don't constantly put things off, by the way, just.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
See number eight on the list. Playing victim.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
People like to say they did something because they had
no other choice, but more often than not, they did
have a choice.
Speaker 4 (33:18):
It's just wasn't an easy route. That's number eight. Playing
the victim card.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Number seven on the top ten list of toxic habits
that sabotage your success and happiness.
Speaker 4 (33:27):
Expecting good things to.
Speaker 3 (33:28):
Happen on their own No, no, no, make them happen.
Number six on the list. Complaining instead of seeking solutions,
although that's so common. Number five on the list of
top ten toxic habits that sabotage your success and happiness
automatically saying yes to everything. Don't be a yes person.
Number four on the list being afraid of failure. Stop
(33:52):
fearing failure, and stop being afraid to take risks. Number
three on the list of top ten habits that can
sabotage your success and happiness being being too hard on yourself.
Stop beating yourself up over every single little thing. Yes,
you will make mistakes that happen to everyone, including those
(34:15):
who are successful. Number two in the list trying to
control everything. Being a leader doesn't mean you need to
control everything, and micromanaging people isn't very effective. Sometimes you
need to step back and just let things happen.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
And the number one.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
On the list of top ten habits that can sabotage
your success and happiness is number one. Cutting corners, cutting corners,
going to easy route. I mean, who hasn't tried that one?
Speaker 7 (34:48):
Right?
Speaker 3 (34:50):
There's a saying the professional way is the easy way.
This is because professionals make everything look simple and efficient.
They don't waste their time and effort. But that's not
the same as taking shortcuts.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
So there you have.
Speaker 3 (35:05):
It's the top ten habits that can sabotage your success
and happiness and encouragement of course for you.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
To not go there.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
All right, let's get back to your telephone calls and questions.
Next up is Steve calling in from Dubuque, Iowa.
Speaker 10 (35:22):
Good morning, This is Steve from Dubuque, Iowa. And I
have a question concerning the so called plaque stabilizers. And
I'm not sure if I'm pronounced this correctly, but it's
pison notes at all and sentence stellum. I believe there's
been some NIH studies that suggestinies may be helpful and
stabilizing plaque. So just like your thoughts on that.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
Thanks all right, Steve, thank you for your phone call.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
I think you're talking about pichnogenol in psilocybin, yes, and
you're really talking about plaque, and as relates to athlosclerosis
and arterial plaque, yes, they can be stabilized. The key
there is not creating more of it, not smoking, trying
to stay away from inflammatory fats like seed oils, canola
and corn oil and safflower and sunflower and all those oils,
(36:06):
they're oxidative, being obese, poor diet. These are all things
that contribute to athleterosclerosis, which usually.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
Starts by the way in childhood.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
So you know that's the ideas is stop the build
up or stop the things that are causing it, and
say yes to more antioxidants and herbs and vitamins that
help stabilize arterial plaque by reducing its build up. Other
important ways to reduce and manage arterial plaque is to
eat nitric oxide containing foods to help maintain the healthy endothelium.
Speaker 4 (36:39):
Also, kyola garlic extract.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
Helps to remove arterial plaque based on studies by doctor
Matthew Boudoff at UCLA Medical Center. So there you have options,
my friend and I appreciate your phone call, Steve. Stay tuned.
You're tuned into the Doctor Bob Martin Show. All right,
(37:25):
Doctor Bob Martin back with you. Thank you for tuning
into the show or in our final segment of the
program today, hope you're doing well. It is time now,
ladies and gentlemen, for this week's installment of the health
Mystery of the Week. Brain mapping reveals exactly where in
the brain different types of love are felt, from romantic
(37:48):
relationships to affection for your dog. While reams of so be, poetry, plays,
and love songs might beg to differ, scientists have always
a key to point out that love is felt not
in the heart but in the brain. Now, thanks to
a new study from researchers at Also University in Finland,
(38:11):
romantically inclined scientists can even are even more precise from
the romantic love for your partner to the love you
have for your dog. Incredible maps now are able to
reveal which regions of the brain are activated by different
(38:32):
types of love. While romantic love is felt strongly in
the social regions of the brain, a parent's love for
their child produced the more powerful reaction of them all.
Doctor Ryan, a philosopher and researcher who led the study,
says in parental love there was activation deep in the
(38:55):
brain's reward system in the striatum area, while imagine and
this was seen for any other kind of love. So, finally,
the law and the short of this is researchers are
now being able to specifically locate that area of the
brain mysteriously enough where certain romantic variations occur, whether it's
(39:19):
for a child, an animal, or whether it's deep or
shallow or wherever, which I think is amazing and it's
mysterious because it's all about the brain, and that's why
it qualified as a health mystery the week. I think
we have one a time for one more call before
the end of the hour. Here is Karen in Syracuse,
New York.
Speaker 7 (39:39):
This is Karen from Syracuse, New York, and I'm just
going to try and find where I can locate a
chiropractor physician. I don't seem to be having any look

Speaker 4 (40:06):
