Here I'm going to get to some information that you
should know if you are taking an antidepressant drug or
you know somebody who's taking anti depressant drug or drugs.
A lot of Americans do, millions do, and it can
(02:08):
be problematic. And we'll talk about a story about someone
who turned into a raging alcoholic as a result of
taking an antidepressant drug. Also this hour coming up, I've
got for you this week's installments of the Health Alternative
of the Week, Health Outrage of the Week. We've got
the product recall in the Health Mystery, and a story
(02:28):
that you if you are a cruiser, you like to
go on cruises like I do, you won't want to
hear about this story. Oh my gosh, this is cringeworthy
world's dirtiest cruise ships identified teeming with maggots and disease
(02:49):
revealed by the CDC. We're going to get into that
this hour, so don't go anywhere. I also want to

All right, we begin with this topic of the fact
(04:17):
that your antidepressant drug could turn you possibly could turn
you into a raging alcoholic. And I'm not telling you
to stop on your antidepressant drug. That's something you'll have
to work out with your doctor or your pharmacist, but
you should be aware of this one particular story I
want to shine light on as a person. A high
(04:38):
flying successful attorney lawyer thirty three years old. Tony green
Is his name, was reluctant to ask for help from
his medical doctor when he developed depression during the pandemic.
But finding himself struggling with stress and panic attacks, he
(05:00):
felt he had to do something, and when his MD
suggested he try antidepressants, he felt relieved that there seemed
to be a simple solution, but he had no idea
that while the pills might be able to relieve the depression,
(05:24):
it's going to potentially create another problem completely and that problem,
of course, being turned into a raging alcoholic. Tony says
that before he started taking the antidepressant, he was a
social drinker and wouldn't drink on his own or by himself.
(05:49):
By the way, did you know that antidepressants could lead
to alcoholism? I wonder how many doctors actually disclose this
possibility when prescribing an antidepressant drug to patients. I wonder,
he says, and I quote, if I needed to drive
somewhere after a social event, I could very easily not
(06:13):
drink at all or just have a beer, then nothing more.
That's not to say I never drank or had a
night out, but I was always in control when I
did close quote but all the but all this changed
when he started taking a form of antidepressant known as
(06:33):
an SSRI, also known as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor
drug by the way, the most popular of this drug class.
You might recognize the names because if you're on an antidepressant,
you'll know this or somebody in your life, maybe a
loved one or a friend, family member. Some of the
(06:54):
more popular drugs we're talking about that could cause somebody
to go from depression into raging alcoholic include Lexa, pro
and Selexa, Paxil, Prozac, and Zoloff. Those are the more
more commonly prescribed SSRII drugs for depression. Now, the decision
(07:16):
that he made to take one of these drugs that
his MD prescribed would cost him his well paid job,
as well as causing turmoil in his personal life. Tony
suffered from a little known and often not disclosed patient
side effect of these ssri antidepressant drugs. They turned some
(07:38):
people with no history of alcohol dependence into full on,
raging alcoholics. Taking an adipressant, he said, caused me to
develop an alcohol use disorder, which stripped me of my
ability to control or stop my consumption of alcohol, he recalls,
(08:00):
caused me to black out after just a few beers,
and my behavior changed to a scary degree. And Tony's
experience is far from unique. According to the CDC, upwards
of thirteen some percent of Americans age eighteen and older
took antidepressants in the past thirty days. According to the
(08:20):
latest data available, eleven percent of Americans age twelve and
above are taking antidepressant drugs. The alcohol industry is probably
smiling ear to ear over this opportunity, to get more
customers and to make sure those customers don't stop. But
(08:42):
I digress now. A few years back, Professor David Healey,
MD co authored an article called ninety three Cases of
alcohol dependence following SSRI treatment in the International Journal of
Risk and Safety in Medicine, after people con contacted him
saying they developed a alcohol problem after taking the antidepressant
(09:05):
drugs they were prescribed. Five of these people have since died,
at least four had lost their jobs, and some ended
up with criminal problems. The majority also reported that their
drinking had cost them friendships and even their marriages. Tony
Green explained after six weeks of taking the prescribed antidepressant
(09:27):
SSRI drug, he said, and I quote, I felt weirdly disinhibited,
so at work I would go and hug people I
had never met. Looking back, he said, I probably cross
came across as very arrogant because I had no social inhibitions.
The last time I got drunk like that was eleven
(09:48):
years previously, during Freshmen's Week in university. So this guy
was not a heavy drinker. In fact, it was a
social drinker. And when he started on antidepressant, these SSRI
drugs that his doctor prescribed, it changed him big time.
It changed his character. And this doesn't happen obviously to
everybody that's on anidepressing drugs, but surely there's options if
(10:11):
you get depressed. There's the last thing you want to
do is going on an anidepressed drug. For mild or
moderate depression, you need to get talk therapy. You should
go out and exercise. We know exercise reduces depression. You
need to avoid refined sugar that adds to it, or
taking supplements like fish oil and vitamin E three and
(10:32):
B complex and probiotics. There's even botanicals that help reduce
the feelings of a depression mild and moderate, like Saint
John's Ward Camo mile l trip defenin amino acid is great.
And then of course we know how important it is
to eat a well balanced diet, keep social connection like
going to church, in other ways to help counter depression.
(10:54):
We'll be right back. I'm doctor Bob Marchin. AH Yes, medicine,
(11:16):
medicine unnaturally and natural medicine whenever applicable, of course, welcome
or welcome back to this hour of the Doctor Bob
Martsin Show. We thank you for tuning into the program.
After the health alternative of the week, I'm going to
get right back to health related questions that were called
(11:37):
into our caller hotline phone number. The Doctor Bob Martin
Caller hotline phone number. I want you to have that
phone number. Should you have a health issue, a health problem,
a quagmire, a dilemma, I'm here for you and I

your first name and the city and state you're living in,
and then your question or your health related comment that

(12:21):
eight hundred six zero six eight eight two two one
eight hundred six zero six eighty eight twenty two. And
of course my website doctor bob dot com spelling out
the word doctor docto r bob dot com. That's where
you'll find the podcast library, which is recordings of past shows,
(12:41):
and of course the all the opportunities on the social
media platforms of Instagram, x and LinkedIn. It's all there
to get a teaser of what we're going to be
talking about in a show in the future before it happens.
So if there's an important topic you don't you want
to remind yourself not to miss it's there all right,
Before you go back to more phone calls and questions,
let's go to this week's installment of the Health Alternative
(13:06):
of the Week. Well, it's that time of the year
where it's time to talk about turkey time. I love Thanksgiving.
(13:27):
I don't know about you.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
I do.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
It's fun, it's festive. And see some family members eat
too much turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry, whatever it may be.
Make your turkey holiday healthier this year, your holiday turkey.
And there are all kinds of different turkeys, all kinds
(13:49):
of different types of turkeys, eight at least eight of
them that I'm aware of. You may ask, what is
the difference in turkeys? And why should I carry anyway?
Turkey's a turkey right, No, no, no, there's some difference.
Don't be fooled. Do your own research before you go
turkey shopping. There are wild turkeys, for example, and they're
(14:12):
a gameier and drier than the turkey you may be
accustomed to eating that you've had in the past. And
then you have free turkeys. Free turkeys are often the
frozen birds that didn't get sold last year. I don't
want one of those free turkeys from last year. I
(14:32):
like fresh. In fact, that's the next one. Basted and
self basting turkeys. Have you heard of that one? Well,
a lot of people consume those, and they have been
injected with up to three percent of their weight with
a solution containing butter. That's why they call them butter turkeys.
Edible fats, broth to give them more flavor, water, different
(14:56):
spices and flavor enhancers, and other approves absences not listed,
with a resulting texture that is often a little mushy.
That's another one. Here's another one. Have you heard of
kosher turkeys. Yeah, they're out there too. Kosher turkeys have
been soaked in water, then packed with kosher salt and
(15:18):
placed on an incline for about an hour to allow
the blood to drain off. Next you have fresh turkeys.
Fresh turkey has never been kept below twenty six degrees. However,
most Thanksgiving birds are processed in September and October, but
are still labeled fresh in November, which means they've been
(15:44):
kept just above twenty six degrees for months. Here's the
next category, free range turkeys. A free range turkey with
access to the outside. That means the turkey that you
may consume at the turkey dinner table, that turkey had
access to the great outdoors running around. But don't be fooled.
(16:05):
Just because it had access, it doesn't mean the turkey
will taste or the turkey that you get taste good,
and I'm not guaranteeing it. Next, you have natural turkey.
A natural turkey contains no artificial ingredients or added collar
and is minimally processed. However, this does not mean it
(16:28):
hasn't been treated with antibiotics. So you have a lot
of choices. Quickly running through those again, wild turkeys, free
turkeys based in self baseding turkeys. You have a kosher
Turkey's fresh turkeys, free range turkeys, you have natural turkeys.
And then finally, the health alternative of the week, We
finally got to it. You've got Mary's Antibiotic free range turkeys.
(16:52):
There's your choice, there's my choice. Mary's Antibiotic free range
turkeys are raised on ranches without antibiotics, animal byproducts, no preservatives,
and no added hormones. They have a high protein diet
(17:12):
for the turkeys to grow into bigger and more flavorful turkeys,
not just giving them corn all day long than one
found in your typical neighborhood supermarket. And if you're lucky
enough to have a natural grocer's store in your neighborhood,
you're in good shape because Natural Grocers carries Marry's antibiotic
(17:38):
free range turkeys. And if you want to find out
if a natural grocery store is near you, just hit
their website at naturalgrocers dot com, naturalgrocers dot com. Or
maybe you have a natural grocery store of any sort
in your neighborhood, or a farmer or somebody, or you
might want to look for Mary's antibiotic fres range turkeys
(18:01):
this week's health alternative of the week. And you can
call and reserve these things. By the way, it's my understanding,
so have a good time at Thanksgiving this year. At
least that's my impression of a turkey call. And I've
been called worse. All right. Let's give right back to
(18:24):
your telephone calls and questions. Next up, we say hello
to Karen in Alaska.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Hi, doctor Bob, thank you for your work, your service
on the radio. My name is Karen. I am from
Anchor to Alaska, and the question I have is I've
been told as an older woman the carpal tunnel the
copple ligament gets thicker and causes pressure on the nerves
(18:50):
in my hand, causing carpal tunnel syndrome, and the only
thing they can do is to cut the ligament so
that it releases the pressure on the nerves. Question is
what are my options? Can I try to stretch the
(19:11):
ligaments in some way? I mean, apparently you can't stop
it from thickening, But the idea of cutting it is
not so good. And they say that ninety success rate,
but what a fun the one in ten it doesn't
have success, So I'm looking at alternatives. Thank you very
(19:35):
much for what you do, and I'll hope to hear
my answer on the radio.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Okay, I appreciate your phone call. Karen. To one word,
could some everything up? I need to say, exaggeration, exaggeration.
I've treated hundreds and hundreds of cases of carpal tunnel
is not caused by what you're describing. What your doctors
told you that would be rare. I guess if you
had somebody that was pounded nails all day long. Maybe
that would be true, but it's not the case. Carpal
(20:05):
tunnel is easily resolved. You just get to the right
type of health practitioner. Surgery is a last thing you
want to consider because it'll have to be done again.
Perhaps it's often unsuccessful. That ninety rate is ridiculous. We
saw a lot of post surgical cases with carpal tunnel
and our offices that were failed. You do not want that.
(20:25):
Find a chiropractic physician who treats carpal tunnel syndrome. Maybe
has been trained in applied kinesiology. They can use softwave therapy, manipulation,
teach you how to do reverse risk exercises with a
small weight, using splinting. Sometimes B six deficiency can help it.
(20:46):
You just want to stay away from carpal tunnel surgery.
It can be an absolute nightmare disaster. There are more
conservative ways to handle it. Doctor choice, chiropractic physician. Thank
you for your call. Everybody's got fay.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
Mistakes, but everybody's got a choice to make.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
Everybody needs to lead the faith.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
Whenny taking you us money, you info.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Sound all right? Doctor Bob marts it back with you
the website doctor bob dot com for all things related
to health related news, spelling out the word doctor d
O C t O R bob dot com. There you'll
have the opportunity to follow me on social media for
(21:43):
the posts that I provide giving you hints of what
we're going to be talking about before the show ever
airs on Instagram and LinkedIn and x and a lot
of other health related news you'll find there as well.
We have a caller hotline phone number for our listeners
to call in any time of the night or day,
any day of the week to ask a question about
(22:05):
health or make a health related comment. That number is
eight hundred six zero six eight eight two to two.
In fact, if you've got something on your mind right
now about your health, about an issue you're having, call
that number right now. If you've got a relative that
you know, or a friend or a neighbor who's got
(22:26):
some health issues and you want to bring the information
back to them and you know their issues, call the
number right now eight hundred six zero six eight eight
two to two. Eight hundred six zero six eight eight
two two. And before we get to the health outrage
of the week, I want to remind you about how
(22:48):
important it is to keep your oral cavity pristine, clean
and healthy with good hygiene. Hygiene is everything, I mean,
that's how we have eradicated it's so many diseases is
through proper hygiene. But proper hygiene should start also in
your oral cavity, not just washing your hands and all that,
(23:09):
it's all important, but also your oral healthcare hygiene in
other words, trying to avoid tooth decay and gingivitis and
peridonal disease and bad breath for that matter, by using
the correct, the best, the only, in my mind, toothpaste
mouth rents, and that would be Spry Spry toothpaste and
(23:35):
Spry mouthrints. You can also get their gum and mints
as well, and they have the magic secret sauce of
xylosol in them that is plant based. Your body makes
a small amount of it, but it doesn't make enough
of it. And the good news is when you get
enough of it in the oral cavity. The germs a
little bacteria, the Streptococas mutens, which destroys your oral cavity.
(23:56):
It is faked out believing it's sugar, and they consume
it and they die or they leave the area. That's
what you want. And if you get as uptight and
stressed about seeing a dental provider and you want to
make sure that you're in good shape so the dental
hygienist doesn't call the dentist in there to do a
procedure on you, you'll do what I did and get
on the Spry Dental Defense system. It comes in peppermint, spearmint,
(24:21):
and cinnamon, and it is incredible and my dentist, my
hygienist is impressed because I walk in there without cavities,
without plaque, and without any bad news coming out as
in them trying to fill, drill, canal, crown, extract, ouch
all of it. The Spray Dental Defense system creates an
(24:42):
easy and inexpensive way to make sure your oral cavity
stays squeaky clean and you have great breath by the
way as well. Spry Dental Defense is available at CVS,
write aid pharmacies, target vitamin shops, sprouts, other fine health
food stores, natural grocers everywhere in the nation. For more information,
(25:05):
go to their website Clear x L e A r
dot com, Clear dot com for Spry Dental Defense. These
are the folks that also make clear nasal sprays, my
favorite being the Rescue nasal spray to keep those bad
organisms from taking over and causing colds and flus and
(25:26):
everything else in your nasal cavity. Clear nasal sprays and
spray dental defense system. It is time now for the
health outrage of the week. She's you don't believe it.
Come on each time for the health outbridge because it's.
Speaker 5 (25:46):
Nothing, but.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
It is outrageous. Big pharma makes huge payments to peer
reviewers in major medical journals, and they gladly accept their
bribes under the table otherwise I mean payments. It is outrageous.
It's a conflict that has been going on a long time.
Tried to rein it in but it still goes on.
A new research letter published to the journ by the
(26:12):
in the Journal of the American Medical Association, Janne revealed
that most peer reviewers for medical journals are given industry payments,
which makes them biased, which makes their opinions change. The
payments which are given to mds who conduct peer reviews
by drug and medical device makers totaled one over one
(26:37):
billion dollars. Folks, these payoffs are happening over a billion
dollars across a three year study. This is clearly a
conflict of interest. Well, journals often have conflict of interest
policies that are applied to authors, very few hold their
peers their peer reviewers to the same standard. Researchers looked
(27:01):
at the general and research payments that doctors serving as
peer reviewers for major medical journals were given by drug
and device manufacturers from the years twenty twenty to twenty
twenty two. Some of the publications included The Lancet, the
New England Journal of Medicine, the British Medical Journal, and
the Journal of the American Medical Association, who published research
(27:22):
letters University of Toronto Urology resident physician David dan Nigen,
who authored the study set and I quote. Although conflicts
of interest of journal editors and authors have been investigated,
the traditionally opaque nature of their peer review has hindered
their evaluation among peer reviewers, despite crucial role in academic publishing.
(27:49):
And the long and the short of this, ladies and gentlemen,
is that these soap called unbiased third party peering viewers,
who are supposed to be kind of like fact checkers,
if you will, they get paid off one way or
the other. We're talking about a billion dollars of payoffs,
(28:10):
and this sort of like in my mind, it should
bring to you every time you're at your doctor's office,
you're kind of wondering, God, I wonder how many of
the prescriptions that my doctor's prescribing has anything to do
with some prejudice or bias that they've learned. Unfortunately through
these peer reviewers who were paid off. In other words,
(28:33):
garbage in, garbage out. This needs to change. Unbiased information
about medical care is hard to find these days. That's
what this study points out. This is again another reason
why it's the classic cliche a buyer, beware covey at
(28:55):
AMPD or know where this is coming from. It's outrageous
activity to be pay off, to be paid off at
the expense of the consumers. And for me, that's why
it qualified as the health outrage of the week. Now
I want you to stand by because we come back
(29:15):
from this break. I've got a product recall and then
I'm going to launch into the world's Dirtiest cruise ship segment.
This is out of the CDC. It's kind of sad
for me to read about it because I'm a big
time cruiser, big fan of cruising. It's fun, but world's
(29:36):
dirtiest cruise ships coming up teaming with maggots and disease
revealed Oh boy by the CDC. So stan By for that.
You are tuned into the Doctor Bob margin Show.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
Sums I'm a busser number, Simoncible, the old one ever
(30:22):
single minds up?
Speaker 3 (30:26):
I don't up?
Speaker 2 (30:32):
All right, Doctor Bob Martin back with you. Thank you
for tuning into the program. Jot down our toll free
hotline phone number so that you can ask questions about
your health or make a health related comment at eight
hundred six zero six eight eight two two eight hundred
six zero six eight eight two to two. We're going
to shortly here talk about the world's dirtiest cruise ships
(30:54):
teaming with maggots according to the CDC. But before we
get to that, we have this week's install. It off
the recall of the weak.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
Colson col Sen recalls fire pits due to risk of
serious burn injuries from flames, jetting, and fire spreading hazards.
The recall involves Colson brand indoor and outdoor tabletop fire pits.
The fire pits consist of a concrete open reservoir intended
(31:24):
to contain burning liquid alcohol. There are seven models of
these Coal Sin brand fire pits in varying sizes from
five to eighteen inches. The hazard, of course, is the
alcohol flames can be invisible and lead to the flame
jetting when refilling the fire pit reservoir and causing the
(31:45):
potential of deadly involvement with starting fires or serious burns
that can happen. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled
fire pits and dispose of them. And there are almost
ninety thousand of those things out in the marketplace. Wow sold.
(32:08):
They were sold at Amazon, dot Com, Wayfair, Walmart, sharper Image,
flip Shop, TikTok, and the list goes on and on.
So if you have one of these Colson fire pits,
give it up. Not good? All right, Now, let's get
to this information. As much as I hate to disclose
it because I like cruising, I'm going to be taking
(32:30):
a cruise shortly. But world's dirtiest cruise ships teeming with
maggots and these and disease. That's what the CDC revealed,
and this got my attention. Vacationers embark on cruises to
enjoy rest and relaxation, but many vessels that travel the
world are hiding dirty secrets. The CDC Centers for Disease
(32:54):
Control and Quasi Prevention has revealed the top ten filthiest
cruise ships of twenty twenty four after health officials randomly
inspected one hundred and fourteen different ships. Inspectors evaluated the
ships the medical center in the ships, portable water systems, galleys,
dining rooms, swimming pools, whirlpools, housekeeping, pests and insect management,
(33:17):
child activity centers, and heating and ventilation and air conditioning.
Three of the dirtiest ships they found include the ship
called hand Seata hand Seatic Inspiration. I guess it's Haypag
Lloyd's hand Seatic Inspiration. Then the next one is Princess Cruises,
(33:42):
which is more popular. I had never even heard of
the first one, but Princess Cruises on the list of
three of the dirtiest cruise ships according to the CDC.
Then you've got the Caribbean Princess and Carnivals Carnival Breeze.
So those are the dirtiest ones in the CDC found
(34:03):
cruise ships packed travelers from all over the world into
crowded semi enclosed vessels, which can facilitate the spread of
person to person, food born and water borne diseases. According
to the CDC, I've never gotten sick on a cruise ship.
I've never had any of these problems whatsoever, but I
certainly want to know about it. When ships are unsanitary,
it can further increased passengers disease risk and even lead
(34:27):
to deadly outbreaks. The CDC's Vessel Sanitation Program VSP gave
each ship received a sanitation score on a scale of
one hundred, one hundred being the best. Of course, what
they're trying to do is they're trying to prevent outbreaks
of acute gas to enteritis stomach flute on board. So
(34:49):
far this year, there have been ten outbreaks of acute
gastrotoritis on cruise ships. According to this report, ten ships
received a score of eighty nine or below, with the
lowest of sixty two and so the second dirtiest ships
on the list were Princess Cruises Caribbean, Princess Carnivals, Carnival Breeze,
(35:15):
Ritz Carlton Yacht's Collection, ev Rima, and MSc Cruises MSc Magnifica,
all of which received scores of eighty six. The score
is within a satisfactory range, but the reports still showed
(35:37):
some startling violations. The Caribbean Princess reported cited files of
crawling insects in galleys and kitchens, buffet passenger decks soiled
by food and debris, and a missing wash hands sign
for a station. So if you're if any of those
make any sense to you, just be careful. That's the key.
(36:01):
Be careful because those are the ships that have issues
and you shouldn't be near them, perhaps, or you want
to make sure that you select another cruise line. I
guess that's the point. So, ladies and gentlemen, I guess
the takeaway here with these World's Dirtiest Ships report is
(36:24):
know the ships that are the worst, which is Carnival
Princess and then in a lesser extent MSc also Ritz
Carlton yachts. Those are the ones you want to be
careful of. The rest of them, it seems, and there's
(36:44):
a lot of them are good to go and we're inspected.
Cruising is fun. I hope they remain healthy. We'll be
right back with the health mystery of the Week. I'm
Doctor Bob Martin. I welcome you back to the final
(37:12):
segment of the Mark Show. Today here on the Doctor
Bob Martin Show. Thank you for tuning into the program.
It is time, ladies and gentlemen, for this week's installment
of the Health Mystery of the Week. Health Mystery of
the Week experts revealed the health issues clock changes. We
know that right now right clock changes that are happening
(37:33):
fuel a warning daylight savings time should be ditched. As
the clocks went backwards last Sunday, Mini, we'll be looking
forward to the extra hour in bed, but top sleep
scientists have called for an end of daylight savings time
amid fears it fuels the rise in cancer, traffic accidents,
(37:55):
and sleep issues. The practice was first introduced in nineteen
sixteen in a bid to improve workforce productivity by making
the most daylight hours in the summer months. Folks, the
problem with this daylight savings things and I agree it
needs to be ditched. It messes up our circadian rhythm.
The circadian rhythm is our body's natural twenty four hour
(38:16):
cycle of physical, mental, and behavioral changes, also known as
our body clocks. It's been studied extensively, even though it's
still mysterious. We don't quite understand the body clock, but
we certainly know that why mess with it when you
have to? These circadian rhythms are important to function of
your hormone system. It affects your appetite, your body temperature. Please,
(38:40):
no more messing with our body clocks and the circadian
rhythm of the human body. That's why it qualified as
the health mystery of the week. All right, let's see
we can squeeze another phone calling before the end of
the hour. Here's Jerry in Rogersville, Tennessee. Jerry, Rogersville, Tennessee.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
My question is is methylene blue safe to ingest?
Speaker 2 (39:08):
All right, thank you for your phone call. Well, methylene
blue is technically considered a drug and can be used
to treat a rare blood disorder where red blood cells
don't carry oxygen properly, and methylene blue can also be
used when taken in very very diluted forms, usually in
a liquid form, but always a good idea to work
(39:29):
with your personal health care provider to see if it's
right for you, Jerry. However, methylene blue was originally developed
as a dye to color clothing. Later, it was used
by researchers to stain for identifying bacteria and specific parasites.
Methylene blue is generally considered safe when you use it
(39:51):
properly for parasites, fungus. They even use it for shock
and other elements. However, like many a their medical treatments,
methylene blue still has the potential to be harmful and
certain groups of people are at a high risk than others,
especially people who are taking SSRI drugs. It can interfere
(40:14):
with their antidepressant drugs, and it appears to be one
of the newer supplements. I've noticed a lot of this
cropping up, with methylene blue being used for a variety
of conditions over the counter. It's usually used at one
percent USP grade dilution for memory issues, Alzheimer's disease, LYME disease,
(40:36):
and some people even are using it for antiaging and
antioxidant or to improve oxygenation. So just be careful, get
some advice from a healthcare provider. Jerry, thank you for
your call. I'm doctor Bob Martin.
