(00:53):
eight twenty two. That's eight hundred six zero six eighty
eight twenty two. It's the Doctor Bob Martin Show.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Well, this happens to be a place where special like
minded people gather each week to discuss important issues and
ask important questions related to our most precious possession. What
is that? Well, it's health, right. Everybody knows that it's
our health. With our health, we have everything Without it,
(01:26):
we are well, we're pretty much bankrupt, right. No matter
how many toys you own, no matter how much money
you have in the bank, your worldly items don't matter
if your health is circling the drain, and this show
helps you to come out of that drain, perhaps or
reduce the risk of going there in the first place.
It's the Doctor Bob Martsin Show. I'm here for you,
(01:49):
and I'm here for you in a multiple ways to
capture or field your health related question, which we will
get to a little bit later in this hour, where
people have called our caller hotline phone number inquiring about
(02:10):
their own health, asking health questions, or making health comments,
and I respond and you can too. It's real simple.
At any time of the night or day, any day
of the week, you can call our Doctor Bob Martin
Show Caller hotline phone number. I want you to write
this number down. Even if you're healthy right now, you
(02:34):
may need it someday, or you may have a loved
one or a friend, or a coworker or a neighbor
who needs a health lifeline a toll free number to
call and have a health related question that they're curious
about or they're in the midst of a problem, they
can't get over it and they just need help. That's
what I do, that's my mission, that's my goal in life,
(02:58):
help as many people as I can. Here's the toll
free number eight hundred six zero six eight eight two two.
This is my calling, helping sick people get well naturally
and helping people who are well to stay that way.
In other words, help you to become your own best doctor.
(03:19):
Most of the time. The number again, eight hundred six
zero six eight eight two two one, eight hundred six
zero six eighty eight twenty two. And the extension of
this radio show is always my website where you can
stay anchored so that you never get lost. You'll know
that I'm always here and you can reach that website
(03:42):
for all the latest in the area of health news
and information. Plus, the website offers the social media content
portals where I add content to it over at Instagram,
X and LinkedIn. They're all there, and that's at doctor
(04:03):
Bob dot com spelling out the word doctor. All right,
we begin this hour with the concept and I believe
in this. I believe in this a lot. What is
that you believe in, Doctor Bob? I believe in traveling
for health and wellness. I have recommended this to people
(04:25):
all my life, all my adult life, when I could travel,
when I was able to travel, when I was able
to afford to travel, because getting out of dodge, folks
is good for you, both physically and mentally and psychologically.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
It is.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
And I've always believed that because stress happens in the environment,
and when you get out of dodge, i e. You travel,
whether it's just to the next city, down the road,
next country, whatever, it helps your psyche And if you're
helping your mental and emotional health, you're helping your physical health.
Because we know there's a mind body connection. There's a
(05:03):
whole branch of medicine called psycho neuroimmunology that studies this
sort of thing. It's important so we have confirmation travel
more age less. Yes, did you know that travel may
help you defend against premature aging. It's true. Over sixty
percent of Americans travel domestically one or two times per year,
(05:28):
and this year, thirty percent of Americans plan to travel internationally,
with beaches being one of the most popular destinations. Those
American Americans who have been spending money on other things
to try to fight against the effects of aging, usually
(05:51):
from the outside in, which is not the complete picture
is certainly you can do it. I don't have a
problem with trying to make sure your skin stays healthy
by using certain elements on your skin to slow down
the aging process. Maybe fine wrinkles and lines and furrows
(06:13):
and all of that, like retinol and vitamin C cream
and all of the other stuff will help defy aging
from the outside. But a lot of people, you know,
spend thousands and thousands of dollars to no avail because
they're aging rapidly and prematurely from the inside out, because
they're all stressed out, they've got physical problems, they've got
(06:35):
nutritional imbalances, they're eating wrong, they're not sleeping well, not
staying hydrated, and so travel should be on your checklist
if you want to slow down the aging process, if
you're prematurely aging right now. At least that's according to
the latest scientific research from Edith Cowen University. So this
(06:58):
stuff's science based. It's really all about entropy. The study
applied the theory of entropy to tourism, finding that travel could
have positive health benefits, including slowing down the signs of aging. Entropy.
I don't know if you've ever heard that word. It's
(07:19):
kind of a fancy medical word. Entropy refers to the
general trend of the universe towards death and disorder, and
the entropy perspective suggests that tourism could trigger entropy changes,
wherein positive experiences might mitigate entropy, meaning chaos and disorder
(07:45):
and movement of death too soon entropy to use it
to increase. That is tourism. Taking a vacation perhaps increase
and enhance your health, while negative experiences may contry to entropy,
increase and compromise your health, i e. Staying too law
(08:06):
often in dodge, meaning you'd never get out of your house.
You're like a hermit. You never travel. You're saying, I
just have to save my money until the day you die,
and you can't take it with you. You need to
be reminded of that. You can't take it with you.
What are you doing to see the planet and enjoying
(08:26):
your lifespan? Why be the richest person in the graveyard anyway?
I don't plan to be, how about you now, folks,
Aging as a process is irreversible. We know that, but well,
it can't be stopped cold, it can certainly be slowed down.
(08:48):
That's the message here. The researchers at Edith Cowan University
remind us. They noted that positive travel experiences might enhance
physical and mental wellness via exposure to novel environments. Engage
meant in physical activities that you otherwise wouldn't do if
you're all caught up in watching the boob tube twenty
four to seven. And traveling also helps and forces a
(09:12):
lot of people into social interaction that they wouldn't otherwise
get if they're caught up and held up in their house,
especially when combined with fostering of positive emotions keeping a
PMA positive mental attitude. That's key. All of these potential
benefits have been acknowledged through practices such as wellness tourism. Wow,
(09:36):
have you heard of that? Wellness tourism, health tourism, and
yoga tourism. These are all available, so start exploring more
of the world that you live in. Tourism isn't just
about leisure and recreation. It could also contribute to people's
physical and mental health. Could travel therapy be a groundbreaking
(09:58):
anti aging health in your Yes, positive travel experiences. Engaging
in the environment may help the body to sustain low
entropy state or the decay and breakdown that's accelerated and
lessen premature aging. So there you have it. If you
(10:19):
want to slow down the aging process because you're on
a fast track right now because you're reclose in your
home and you won't go anywhere, here's your option to
help yourself out in this regard. You may be smearing
those expensive three hundred dollars creams on your face when
(10:41):
you ought to be calling your travel agent and making
reservations for a destination you haven't been so you can
enjoy your life, travel more age less. You're tuned into
the Doctor Bob Martin Show, that cat's a great.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
Take a b.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Well, I don't know about taking a bullet to my
brain or dying for you, but I am here for you.
It's the Doctor Bob Martin Show. Thank you very much
for tuning into the program and telling others to do
the same thing. If you like what you hear. The
best way to refer a loved one or a friend
or a family member co worker to the show is
to jot down the call letters of the radio station
(11:49):
you're listening to right now and pass that on to
as many people as you can tell them, whether it's
an A M or FM station, the frequency on the dial,
call letters, and the time of the day. In fact,
if you've got a social media platform like Instagram, X
or LinkedIn, use that to get the message out of
this show. The more people who listen, the more people
(12:11):
we're able to help. That is a higher calling in
my opinion, helping other people to wellness and helping people
who are ill to get well naturally. This is what
we do. It's the theme of the show, and we
have a caller hotline phone number that anybody can access
twenty four seven or three sixty five. I'm here for
(12:34):
you and I'll do my best to help you out.
Simply call this number at eight hundred six zero six
eight eight two two eight hundred six zero six eighty
two two or one eight hundred six zero six eighty
eight twenty two and leave your health related question. Simply
state your first name, only the city and state you're
(12:58):
living in in your questions. That simple, in the privacy
of your home and the convenience of your home, and
simply your first name, city, state, and your question. Revity
is appreciated readers, Digest condensed version all of that making
it fair for everyone else. Getting into the program that
(13:19):
last segment about how if you travel more, you age less.
I was reminded by my co pilot of this radio show, Phil.
He says to me, when we finished doctor Bob, you're
talking about travel and aging less. Have you ever sat
in an airport for a long period time? He got me,
(13:39):
He got me grounded back to the glass half empty.
And I was trying to get that half just you know,
that half full glass over the top for you, and
he brought me back to a reality check. And it's true.
But hey, once you get to the destination you're going
to travel to, nothing else matters, does it? Okay? All right,
(14:00):
let's now ladies and gentlemen transition into this week's health
alternative of the week.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Speaking of stress and sitting in an airport too long
because you're waiting for your airplane that's overdue or have
been canceled or whatever. Stress in life. You have financial stress,
social stress, what you know, job related stress, environmental stress,
(14:42):
you wake up on the wrong side of the bed.
Whatever stress you're having in your life, I want you
to know there are many ways you can reduce that stress,
especially if it's chronic, by using what nature provides for
US medicine's natural well medicines, botanical medicines. I eerbal therapy
(15:04):
to reduce stress, because chronic stress can take a toll
on your body and your brain. But you can shield
yourself from stress until you can figure out how to
unwind it or to reduce it or get rid of
it outright. You can shield yourself from stress with an
herb that you should know about. It's an iravetic herb
(15:28):
called Oshawa guanda. Try to spell that one, Oshawa guanda.
As I said, it's an aravetic herb. It's an adaptogen,
which means that it helps you better adapt to stress.
Used by millions and millions of people all over the
world every single day to help the body resist both
(15:49):
physical and mental stress. It works, ladies, gentlemen, It's safe
and effective. Lot of science too behind it. Stress can
be sneaky. It can be insidious, creeping up on you
while you're sitting in traffic, causing your blood pressure. You
get into an argument with somebody to rise your blood pressure,
(16:09):
and you start clinching your jaw because you're stressed out.
You know, time, stress, all of that. No matter how
it comes your way. Stress is part of the human experience,
it's part of human life. And while periods of stress
are perfectly normal as you live this life, chronic stress
or stress overload can lead to real physical and mental
(16:33):
damage to you. And that's why we got to do
everything we can to counteract it by exercising positive mental
attitude all of that, and taking something for it, something
natural that doesn't have side effects, like Oshawa Gwanda, the
herbal product. We are all hardwired to deal with stress.
It's called fight or flight response. When you are faced
(16:54):
with a stressful event, your adrenal glands release stress hormones,
including adrenaline and cortisol. These hormones increase your blood pressure
and heart rate and slow digestion and increase your blood
sure and suppress your immune system for a reason. But
when it is chronic and never ending and relentless, it
throws your body out of balance and can lead to
(17:15):
major health problems, causing anxiety and depression and insomnia and
high blood pressure and even digestive problems. And then people
go to their doctors and they get poisonous drugs to
traumatize themselves even worse as they try to put a
chemical band aid on it, which sometimes is necessary, but
the cause does never get the cause never gets realized
or fixed. That's what I'm talking about. Researchers estimate that
(17:39):
stress contributes to as much as eighty percent of all
major illnesses, including heart disease, cancer, infectious diseases of all kinds.
It leaves you susceptible and waiting to become roadkilled, which
you don't want to be. Whereas if you go to
the health food store and you start taking this iravetic
(18:02):
herb called Oshawa gwanda, just phonetically spell it out so
that you'll know what to get when you're at the
health food store, Oshawa gwanda. Maybe one of the best
ways to shield your body from negative stress is to
take this herb, this adaptogen, this plant based compound that
helps the body to adapt to both physiological and psychological stress,
(18:27):
bringing balance without stimulating or sedating effects which drugs do
and can knock you out of the box and they
don't fix anything anyway. Also, it has been shown to
shorten the amount of time that it takes to fall asleep.
This week's health alternative of the week. That's what I'm
talking about called Oshawa Gwanda. It helps even improve sleep
(18:52):
quality or create a sense of calm without giving you
some type of risky pharmaceutical agent which has an average
of seventy different side effects. But people go to their
doctors and you're going to get a drug. It's like
you know, putting a hammer in a carpenter's hand. Everything's
(19:16):
a nail. So when you go to the doctor's office,
you're gonna get drugs. When you go to the health
food store looking for Oshawa gwanda, you're gonna get an
herb that's safe and effective, been used for hundreds and hundreds,
maybe thousands of years in iravetic medicine that helps you
better adapt to stress and it reduces it so you
can figure out, finally what's stressing you, because you're gonna
(19:39):
get a little relief and not have your health go
down and you just complicate it even more. Most medicines
today come with so many side effects that can adversely
affect your health, so you end up treating one problem
and creating several more. Why do that? You can find
Oshawa Gwanda this week's health Health Alternative of the Week
(20:01):
at all natural grocers stores, and this herb has the
good manufacturing practice is established by by the way, by
the FDA. This provides Natural Grocer's customers with the highest
commitment to quality and safety and purity. So if you're
lucky enough to have a natural Grocer's store in your neighborhood,
(20:22):
go in get Osha Guando. If you feel unstressed, or
if you don't have one in your neighborhood, go to
Naturalgrocers dot com. That's their website, naturalgrocers dot com to
find this week's health alternative of the week Oshawa Guanda,
Oshawa Ganda. All Right, stay tuned, ladies and gentlemen. Health
(20:46):
outrage of the week coming up right here on the
Doctor Bob margin Shoe.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
Everybody's got mistakes, but everybody's got a choice to make.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
Everybody needs a leader. Faith. When are you taking you us.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Money?
Speaker 2 (21:13):
You infound well, you're tuned into the Doctor Bob Martin Show.
And for that, I want to tell you how so
much I appreciate you doing so and telling others to
(21:33):
do the same thing. This is the the light that
we do here. We turn on the lights each and
every week. We hope that you'll help us spread the
good word of health and wellness this radio show bringing
information to people all over the United States, coast to coast.
We are, after all, the largest radio health talk show
(21:56):
in America bar none, and in large part that's thanks
to you, and I want to tell you from the
bottom of my heart, I appreciate that, and I appreciate
you referring people to the program. And the easiest way
to do that is to jot down the call letters
of the radio station you're listening to right now, the
frequency on the dial, the time of the day, a
MRFM station, and tell them about it so they too
(22:18):
will have this same opportunity. Now we're going to get
back to phone calls and questions and also the health
outrage of the week that's teed up and ready to go.
But first, before we get to that, I'm going to
give you one of the best ways that you can
possibly think of or do to take better care of
(22:42):
your oral health. This is so important. I see people
out there, you know, they're exercising. That's good. They're trying
to eat well, staying away from junk food and too
many ultra processed foods. That's good. People who are trying
to keep a positive mental attitude. That's good. People are
(23:03):
drinking pure water to maintain good health. That's good. People
are taking nutritional supplements to fill in the gaps where
they're otherwise not getting it in their food. That's good.
But then I see they don't they're not educated about
or they don't know about how important it is to
take care of the oral cavity of the mouth or
the oral cavity of your body. Your mouth, that is
(23:26):
where that's the portal of entry for everything. Right now,
we all know that if you don't brush your teeth
and keep proper dental hygiene, you may lose your teeth
and become a person with dentures. You don't want that.
But it goes beyond that. When you have low grade,
(23:47):
simmering chronic infection in the oral cavity in your gums
and your teeth because you're not doing a good job
of brushing, flossing, irrigating, seeing the dental hygenis periodically in
your dentist, These infections in the oral cavity can really
lay you out over time. You don't want that, and
that's exactly why I want to encourage you to use
(24:09):
something called the spry dental defense system. I use it,
my family uses have been for over twenty years. Spry
is spelled Spry. It helps you to reduce or avoid
altogether tooth decay, gingivitis, periodontal disease, bad breath, and you
(24:30):
can have sparkly clean teeth. The stuff is amazing. And
when you use Spry the toothpaste and Spry the dental
rintse or mouthwash, your dental providers, your hygenis and dennis
are going to be impressed, are going to ask you
what the heck are you doing lately? And you're going
to say to them, you kick to the curb the
(24:52):
other stuff that had all the chemicals in it, like
Colgate and Crest and Thera Brand, all these other things
that are just full of chemicals. Just read the label.
You don't need or want, and you tell them now
you're using Spry Sbry tooth based and mouth rands. Doctor
Bob recommended it. It comes in delicious flavors peppermint, cinnamon,
and spearmitt the secret sauce, and there's the xylotol. It
(25:13):
tricks the germs. It doesn't allow the germs to stick
into your oral cavity. They die, they go away. You win,
your oral cavity wins, and it lowers your risk of
future dental problems like ret canals, crowns, extractions, ouch and
dental problems in general. You can find the Spray Dental
(25:35):
Defense System, the one I use at CBS, Right Aid, Target,
Vitamin Shop, Sprouts, and other fine health food stores nationwide,
or you can go to their website to learn more
at Clear Xler dot com. Clear Xler dot com. You're
looking for Spry the Dental Defense System. Spry Dental Defense System.
(26:00):
They're the makers of Clear nasal sprays, my favorite being
the Clear Rescue Nasal Spray. All right, it is time now,
ladies and gentlemen, for this week's installment of the health
Outrage of the week. They don't believe it come on
(26:21):
each time for the health outbridge because it's nothing, but
it's outrageous.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
Again.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
It seems like second week in a row. We're talking
about how these I don't know, these people just keep
pushing the envelope and going out and having all these
cosmetic procedures done on themselves because they hate, they despise
what's shining back in the mirror at them. For some reason,
(26:51):
they don't love themselves. They've lost confidence in themselves and
now they're trying to become somebody else, like Kim Kardashian
or somebody else. Here we go again. A mother, a
mom aged thirty three, who has had you ready for this?
She's had five hundred procedures. Oh my gosh, talk about
(27:14):
getting some work done. Five hundred whoa to try to
perfect her plastic look. She lifts the lid on her
struggle to find love, she says, and she says, the
money that she's spent so far, she's worth at least
(27:38):
more than a quarter of a million dollars. A plastic
surgery enthusiast, she's got some real issues between her ears.
In my opinion, I'm sorry. I'm just gonna call it
like it is. There's issues. Plastic surgery enthusiast has gone
under the knife to have cosmetic surgery five hundred times.
(28:02):
She has lifted the lid on why her hundreds of
procedures have made her or made it harder for her
to find a man. Elena Starr, thirty three years old,
Content creator. There's the problem. There's the outrage because she's
influencing other young people to have this crazy behavior. Go
(28:25):
on in their lives. That's the outrage. She's a mom, however,
it's going to also affect her children, that's an outrage.
She frequently flaunts her prodigious pout, you know, her platypus
lips that she has had injected with all these fillers
that look like the mischel entire man in her mouth yuck,
(28:46):
and her trim waistline online while opening up about thirteen
or fourteen big surgeries she's had. And while the New
York based influencer says that her extensive surgeries are no
big deal when it comes to dating, Elena admits she
(29:07):
struggles to trust men with her heart. She's she's had
it all. Brazilian butt liftsh My goodness. My advice for Elena,
honestly would be, please get some get some counseling. You
(29:31):
need talk therapy, find out where it was, whether you
need to be hypnotized or neurolinguistic programming or something. Find
out where in your life somebody told you you were
not beautiful and you were imperfect and you needed to
change that by chopping, slicing, dicing and doing procedures and
then rebuke that you are a beautiful person and become
(29:53):
that beautiful person again. I'm doctor Bob Martin.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
So sorry, I'm a bush number sun Emile. The one
never single is a powerful today.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
Well, if you like what you're hearing here on the
Doctor Bob Martinsen Show, don't keep it such a big secret.
We so appreciate you tuning into the program today and
telling others about the show. The extension of this radio
show is truly my personal website where you can learn
about health with lots of news we post up there
at doctor Bob dot com spelling out the word doctor
(30:59):
d O c tr bob dot com. You've got the
social media platforms there and the podcast library. If you
ever miss a show, or you want to hear this
one Oliver again, or you want to direct somebody to
listen to the program because they can't hear it where
they live, have them go to doctor Bob dot com.
Here's also the caller hotline phone number, because we're going
(31:21):
to get to phone calls shortly here after the product
recall coming up. Where somebody can lift up their phone
anytime of the night or day, any day of the
week and call the caller hotline phone number. You will
hear me answer the phone. I will ask you to
state your first name, the city you're living in, the state,
and your question or your health related comment. It's that simple.
(31:42):
Here's the number. Eight hundred six zero six eight eight
two to two eight hundred six zero six eight two
two one eight hundred six zero six eighty eight twenty two.
All right, it's time now for this week's installment of
the product Recall of the Week warning to people who
have had a tattoo recently, as the FDA recalls inc.
(32:06):
The Tattoo Inc. Sold nationwide because it contains deadly germs.
The FDA is issuing a warning to anyone who has
gotten tattoos recently after it was discovered a popular brand
of tattoo Inc. Was contaminated with dangerous microorganisms. The federal
agency announced Sierra Stain Sierra Stain of Carson City, Nevada,
(32:30):
was recalling three three water based tattoo pigments because they
tested positive for eight microorganisms that present a health concern
to consumers. The ink was distributed through Amazon to shops
and consumers in all fifty states. The FDA initiated the
(32:52):
recall after it tested the product samples from Sierra Stain
write that down. If you have it to be in
a tattoo shop and see if they're using it, stay
completely away from it. The company, I guess, is no
longer in business. Also fly by Night. Among the recalled products. Oh,
there's all kinds of them, just right down, Sierra Stain.
(33:14):
If you had it, be careful if they're still giving
it in the tattoo shop you land in, make sure
you don't get it because they may not know about it.
That's a product recall of the week.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
All right.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Now, let's transition from that right over to more of
your phone calls and questions. Let's get to the calls.
First up is Ray calling in from Jackson, Tennessee.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
Ray from Jackson, Tennessee. I want to know if there
is any remedy for the ear all itching.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
I can't know. It's very much of antisense as I've
gotten older. Is there anything to stop the it's what
do you coloring my ear?
Speaker 2 (34:16):
All right? Ray? Thank you for your phone call. Yes
there Israe. You probably have a yeast or a fungal
or mold infection in your ear, and there's a couple
different ways we have to approach this. Usually one you
must stop eating sugar, junk food, candy, ice cream, just
(34:37):
junk food in general, pastries that are laced with sugar.
It feeds these fungal yeast infections. It's just like pouring
gasoline on a fire. You'll never get rid of this
until you stop that stuff. And you can have it
once in a while, but just stop it. Don't feed
the infection. And then in your ear, you're gonna need
to go to the health food storm and purchase something
called Waly's Organic ear Oil Wall's Organic ear oil found
(35:03):
in health food stores, and that will help to kill
the infection in the ear itself, while internally you need
to be taking something called doctor Ohhira's probiotics to re
set the gastrointestinal area that is probably overrun with and
overpopulated with fungus, mold, and yeast and feeding it out
(35:26):
to different parts of your body, including your ear. Doctor
oh Here is probiotics. You start three to six of
those capsules right when you go to bed, swallow them
and forget about it, and do that for about a
month and it should get a lot better after a month.
Cut the dosage down to maybe two capsules at right
(35:49):
before bedtime. So the main thing and alcohol also aggravates this,
so you got to stay away from alcohol, sugar, junk food, sweets, candy,
ice cream. They are what fuel and keep these fungal
infections going. This probably started with a dose of antibiotics
(36:11):
or some type of medical drug that rocked your body's
immune system and you've never recovered from it. So that
is my recommendation to use Sir Wallly's organic ear oil,
stop the sugar, alcohol, get doctor oalheres probiotics, and if
(36:32):
it doesn't go away, you need to have somebody look
in that ear with an otoscope and find out if
there's something else in there like a bug or a worm,
or any amount of things that could be in there.
Believing it or not, that happens, and we want to
make sure that's not going on or there's not some
more serious problem like an infection that needs to be
dealt with. All right, thanks again for your phone call. Ray,
(36:53):
We'll be right back. I'm doctor Bob Martin. You you
you make.
Speaker 4 (37:12):
You mad.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
Well.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Hopefully natural medicine whenever and wherever applicable. Welcome or welcome
back to the final segment of this hour of the
Doctor Bob Martin Show. Thank you for tuning into the
program Today, Ladies and gentlemen, it is time now for
this week's installment of the Health Mystery of the Week. Well,
(37:42):
part of the brain network much bigger in people with depression.
That's what scientists are finding. Researchers have gained new insight
into how and why some people experience depression after finding
a particular brain network is far bigger in people living
(38:04):
with depression. The surface of the brain is a communication
junction box at which different areas talk to each other
to carry out particular processes, but there is a finite
amount of space for these networks to share. Now, researchers
say that in people with depression, a larger part of
(38:26):
the brain is involved in that network that controls attention
to rewards and threat threats than in those without depression.
The lead researcher says, it's taking up more real estate
on the brain surface than we see in a typical
healthy control, said doctor Charles Lynch, co author of the
(38:48):
research from wheel while Cornell Medical Center in New York.
He added that expansion meant the size of others, often
neighboring brain networks even or smaller, so there's a connection
there as the brain gets bigger, or maybe it's the
other way around, depression sets in. It's a mystery, but
(39:09):
hopefully they'll figure it out soon. Let's see if we
can squeeze another phone call before the end of the hour.
Here is Steve calling in from Tipton, Iowa.
Speaker 3 (39:19):
This seed Tipton, Iowa. Stroke Ye, Sadie sears. I diet

the benefit of treating a lot of people after strokes.
(39:54):
The one thing you'll need to do, which is one
of the best suggestions I can give you, find somebody
who can offer hyper Barrick oxygen therapy hyperbaric oxygen therapy HBOT.
That is amazing where you get in these little tanks.
It infuses oxygen through your body and into your brain
at a higher level. It has amazing benefits to people
(40:15):
who've had brain injuries like strokes, hyper baric oxygen therapy.
They usually have it at hospitals or some medical centers. Also,
I recommend acupuncture that may help with rehabilitation, certain form
of exercise, taking salmon oil like EPA Dha, and other neotropics.
All of those should help. And Steve, I wish you well.
