eight twenty two. It's the Doctor Bob Martins.

of the show, encouraging you to be your own best
(01:22):
doctor most of the time. I want to report that
we have a special guest coming up a little bit
later in the hour. If you are interested in the
subject of weight loss, if you are interested in the
subject of why it is that so many people are
taking these drugs, the GLP one drugs today for waight,
(01:43):
uh ozembic, wegav Monjarno, and a bunch of other drugs
that are just flying off the prescription pads these days
through injections and tablets.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
We know that America is way overweight.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
More and more people are becoming obese every day, leading
to catastrophic chronic health problems.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
We're going to have a doctor.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Of pharmacology on the program to talk about successful weight
loss and the risks associated with this class of drugs,
and a viable option for you to consider with respect
to helping to manage metabolic dysfunction, which is what leads
to weight gain and people struggling to lose weight.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
So stand by for that.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
But we begin this hour with a topic that is
of interest I think to a lot of people because
they have it. In fact, I have a question from
a caller about this particular condition carpal tunnel syndrome or.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Wrist pain that a lot of people have. Carpal tunnel.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Rates of this disorder are up big time. Experts are
blaming several factors over car carpal tunnel. It's a painful
condition of the hand and wrist and fingers caused by
a compression of major nerve tissue where it passes through
these carpal bones through a passage at the front of
(03:13):
the wrist, and it may be caused by numerous factors
and is characterized by sensations. People notice they get tingling
and numbness and their fingers are hand burning pain, trouble
holding objects, dropping objects, and doctor's surgeons are performing like
(03:34):
a half million carpal tunnel surgeries every year now. I
have over the years when I was in practice, I
saved a lot of people from these surgeries because most
of the time, carpal tunnel surgery is completely unnecessary and
people are never the same when they get it, So
we're trying to keep people from having it because it
(03:55):
is highly risky. If you've ever experienced numbness or tingling
in your hand, or dropping things when you try to
pick them up and the object comes out of your hand.
It doesn't matter because some people notice it on a
regular basis, some it's intermittent smits once in a while.
It all means that there's a possibility that there's a
(04:17):
signaling problem coming through the risk weakening your ability to
grasp or twist or hold things, because that's one of
the things people notice they have trouble twisting jars off,
or they open door knobs they have trouble there too,
or an urge to kind of shake out your hands.
Those are all possible signs of having carpal tunnel syndrome.
(04:40):
These are all conditions and signs of the condition which
affects They say about five percent of the population. I
think it's much greater than that. And some people use
wrist splints or cold packs and over the counterpaine medications
like ibuprofen are usually only temp if they help at all,
(05:03):
And a girling number of people are turning to life changing,
mostly unnecessary, risky risk surgery for relief because all they
tried the brace, it didn't work. They tried the over
the counter didn't work. Okay, your only option is surgery.
That's what your doctor and your surgeon says, which is nonsense.
You haven't tried everything. It's the only thing they know.
(05:26):
It's the only game in their mind in town that
you can try. But I'm here to tell you there
are a lot of things that can help carpal tunnel syndrome.
In fact, I've had people patients who have had failed
carpal tunnel syndrome that were still able to be helped
even after the surgery kind of wrecked them. So because
doctors perform between four hundred and six hundred thousand of
(05:50):
these things, these what are called carpal release surgeries, one
type of surgery used to treat the condition, making one
of the most common upper extremity procedures. That's what it is.
Here comes another risk surgery in the door. Oh let's
take them to surgery. They've tried the brace, that didn't work. No,
that's not enough. There Also, there's also been an explosion
(06:14):
of the growth in products to treat carpal tunnel syndrome,
with the market expected to grow to ten percent over
the next decade, making it a billion dollar plus industry globally.
In other words, treatments and therapies for carpal tunnel syndrome
or wrist pain or risk problems show no sign of
(06:37):
slowing up. Of course not surgery is a is a
way to make a lot of money at the patients
and the insurance company's expense. However, considering the risk versus benefit,
you know ration there and or insurance companies. Everybody loses
(07:02):
when you have surgery that's unnecessary. The patient loses because
they now have a surgical procedure on them that shouldn't
have happened, and they have now been modified and altered,
they'll never be the same, and the insurance company loses.
You lose if it comes out of pocket as far
as the expense. So considering the risk versus the benefit
(07:23):
RACEIO for this non life threatening condition, people and insurance
companies are being ripped off because conservative non surgical treatments
for carpal tunnel are highly effective. I've had so many
patients over the years, literally hundreds and hundreds of them
come in to tell me, and I know other doctors
do as well, that they needed carpal tunnel surgery according
(07:46):
to their surgeon. And there are also many of them
were scheduled. We were able to unschedule them. They did it,
but we fixed their risk problem in a conservative manner
and they didn't have the problem anymore. But why are
so many people diagnosed with carpal tunnel sinnder from having
surgery with safe and effective non surgical treatments are available. Well,
the answer is surgeons refuse to refer carpal tunnel suffers
(08:09):
to the proper care and don't just mean a futile
series of PTIs treatments. In other words, they send them
over to the pt the physical therapist if they don't
get better, or that use the brace or the anti
inflammatory as well. There's nothing else, We've tried everything. Nonsense.
That's not true. There are many safe and effective treatments
(08:31):
for carpal tunnel syndrome that people are not being told about,
maybe because the doctors don't know about it, they're just
ignorant to it, or or they just are unaware. I mean,
surgery happens. You put a hammer in a carpenter's ham
and everything becomes a nail. People with carpal tunnel's problems
(08:51):
or have these risk problems, they need to find an
applied kinesiology trained chiropractic physician or someone who can deliver
the analysis, examine them properly and give them the care
because these nerves get trapped, and yes, bones move out
of place and bones need to be moved back into
(09:12):
place and secured. And there's also all kinds of therapies
that are not being utilized on carpal tunnel. Carpal tunnel
suffers that should be like soft wave therapy, and I'm
not against wraps and splints initially, but it's not the answer.
Prolo therapy and other injections. You can do that to
get the healing process started. Acupuncture specific rehab exercises for
(09:38):
carpal tunnel. And what you have basically is you have
this entrapped nerve that needs to be unentrapped, and you
can't do that unless you are able to get the
risk back into its juxtaposition by knowing how to do that.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
And then on.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Top of that, of course, carpal tunnel is supported by
certain nutrients.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
It's like vitamin B six. But I'm here to tell.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
You that if you have risk problems like carpal tunnel,
you do not have to go through surgery. I don't
care if you've used a wrist brace only or you've
been down to the physical therapist's office.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
That's not enough. That is inadequate.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
It has to start with seeing the doctor of choice
with carpal tunnel. That's not a surgical procedure. That means
you have to find a doctor who's trained in applied kinesiology.
Usually that's a chiropractic physician or a nature pathic physician
or somebody who's aware of that that can analyze it
(10:41):
and then treat it properly from a multiplicity of angles
so that we can resolve it and avoid surgery at
all costs. All right, our special guests coming up talk
about weight.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Stay tuned. It's the Doctor Bob Martin.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
Show, and I welcome you back or welcome you to
(11:20):
this segment of The Doctor Bob Martin Show.

eight two two. Remember, the only bad health question is
the one you're not asking, So call in when you can.
(12:28):
From headaches to hemorrhoids, HS to shakes, pimples, to prostate
problems and everything in between. We discuss all of it.
So do call that number. Tell doctor Bob where it hurts.
Already eight hundred six zero six eight eight two two
in the website doctor Bob dot Com spelling out.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
The word doctor.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
There's a poll question over on my website and we'd
love to get your opinion of it. Goes like this
lab grown meat, meat that's grown in a laboratory now
banned from the state of Florida, being sold in the
state of Florida. So the question to you is are
you in favor of a nationwide ban on lab grown meat?
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Yes or no?
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Voted doctor Bob dot com spelling out the word doctor.
All right, let's turn our attention to our special guest.
I want to talk about weight obesity. It's huge pun
intended in the United States, and it's.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Getting worse all the time. It is.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
We're seeing commercial after commercial after commercial about these GLP
one injections now tablets promising to curb your appetite and
promote weight loss. And of course it always it seems
like all these up and coming fads are picked up
by the Hollywood elite first, and then they start bragging
(13:55):
how they went from three hundred pounds to one hundred
and twenty five seemingly overnight.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Who oh my gosh, look.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
At Kelly Clarkson or somebody else that is, you know,
morbidly obese, and and suddenly they're like slim and drim,
how'd you do it? And you know, all these weight
loss programs over the years that you see on television,
and then you find out that some celebrity like Oprah Winfrey,
all along she's been taking some type of drug for
(14:25):
the problem yet promoting something else.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
It's incredible.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
People are confused, they're stressed by it, but they don't
want the weight. They want to get rid of the weight,
not just from a cosmetic standpoint, but they know and
they realize because they read about it, that adding weight
puts you at risk for a variety of health conditions,
from diabetes to high blood pressure, to heart disease to
(14:51):
certain forms of cancer. Not to mention, if you're carrying
around on your frame more weight than you were designed to,
your joints are gonna wear out, and you're just gonna
be miserable. You're not gonna be able to get into
your clothes, You're not gonna like what you see staring
back at you in the mirror. So there's a whole
bunch of physical and psychological and emotional components associated with
weight gain and keeping it on. And we are today
(15:15):
an overweight society and getting worse. Obesity is out of control.
Children's weight is out of control. And there comes along
a way to trick the human body by giving it
an injection of a drug classed as GLP one. You
know the names because you're seeing them on television all
the time. Oh, Zempic and wig of v and Monjarno
(15:39):
and a whole bunch of other ones d jore. So
we've asked a special expert to join us today to
talk about this topic, an expert in the area of pharmacology.
In fact, she's a doctor of pharmacology. My special guest
is Fadua Gillanders. Doctor Gillanders earned her Doctor of Clinical
Pharmacy Pharmacy farm d from Wayne State University and completed
(16:04):
a residency at Detroit Medical Center, gaining valuable experience in
managing conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and kidney disorders.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Over her twenty.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Five year career as a doctor of pharmacy, she has
specialized in chronic disease management, published research on polypharmacy, and
worked closely with physicians to optimize treatment plans. Doctor Gillanders
realized that big pharma often contributes to worsening chronic illnesses,
(16:37):
so she shifted her focus towards functional medicine and completed
training through the Institute of Functional Medicine. Her current interests
include helping patients with metabolic syndrome, obesity, and other weight
related challenges, as well as how to detoxify restore cellular
(16:57):
nutrition and help people unlock them their full potential by
addressing the root causes of their illness. Doctor Gillanders, Welcome
to the Doctor Bob Martin Show, and thank you for
being with us today to talk about this very complex subject.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
Oh hi, doctor Bob, it's an honor to be here.
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Absolutely well, you heard the introduction. We're seeing more and
more people in the United States becoming overweight and obese.
And of course, because Americans are indoctrinated to wanting things
that are quick, like the microwave of an approach to
(17:38):
everything in life. Right, I want it fast, and I
want it yesterday. So we know that a successful weight
program and weight maintenance must involve many facets. It involves
making the right choices of what we put in our mouth,
eating a diet that's reasonable, involves making sure there we're
(18:01):
burning calories more than we are or at least keeping
up with our calorie burn more than we're taking in.
And a lot of other factors that can happen metabolically
that happen over time. They don't happen overnight. Thing happened
slowly and insidiously as people gain weight and then of
course the pharmaceutical company comes along and says, well, hey,
don't worry about it. I've got this injection. Let's just
(18:25):
get it to you and get on with your dropping
that hundreds of pounds of weight or these tablets that
are rolling out.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
So I'm here with you.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
Today, doctor Gillanders, to discuss that and talk about the
real cause of why people gain weight and how to
manage it without pharmaceutical drugs. And for that we thank
you again for being here on the program today. But
I just want to throw it out, just get your
opinion from a doctor of pharmacy, of pharmacologists, what your
(18:58):
opinion is of this whole class of g l P
one drugs that are being pushed into our society today.
Speaker 5 (19:06):
Yes. Absolutely, and again thank you doctor Bob for having me.
It's truly an honor. So you know, as a critical
pharmacist and I know pharmacology of medications, what what we
have done in the industry and what has been done
in the industry is if you always look at the
front end of the problem. You know, the numbers on
the scale, the high blood pressure, your high blood sugar.
(19:27):
And although these numbers are discerning concerning the problem is
in the back end of the metabolism of your body
and the system. If we only focus on the front
end and quickly try to reduce your blood pressure, quickly,
try to reduce your sugars, quickly, try to reduce your weight,
you're not taking care of what's happening on the back
end that's causing those things to happen, because obesity is
(19:47):
really a symptom of a dysfunction metabolic state, and that's
that's really the core there.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
I'm glad you pointed that out, doctor Gillanders, because my
training taught me that quick weight loss is a disaster
waiting to happen, meaning that yes, people can lose weight,
maybe a pounds and a half, two pounds a week, maybe,
but that's not what you know.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
People are after.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
They're after like I want to lose I want to
lose thirty to forty pounds in the next month. I
want to lose more than that if I can. How
can I do that? I don't have time to wait around,
so I don't have time to exercise, I don't have time.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
To eat properly.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
I just want a peal where I want an injection
to solve the problem.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
For me. We're going to talk about this. We're going
to talk about this.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
Ladies and gentlemen, I want you to stand by because
we need to talk about the metabolism, how to get
to that and how to solve the problem from a
causative standpoint.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Stand by.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
You're tuned into the Doctor Bob Martin Show.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
Are you waiting for the right excuse?
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Are you waiting for sight and choose?
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Why are you waiting?
Speaker 4 (21:07):
The time is.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
Pepe five.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
I'm on.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
The fine time phone mon Are you in phone?
Speaker 5 (21:26):
Hi?
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Welcome here, Welcome you back to this hour of the
Doctor Bob Martin Show. I want you to also have
with you at all times the toll free number where
you can access asks asking a question about either your
own health or somebody else's health on our Doctor Bob
Martin Show Caller hotline phone number. You can call this
(21:48):
phone number any time of the night or day. You'll
hear me answer the phone and ask you to give
your first name only, first name only, city in state
you're living in, and then your question or your comment.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
Levity is appreciated.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
In other words, readers dies condense version of whatever it
is you have on your mind and making it fair
for everyone else trying to get into the show and
on the air to have their question answered that number
eight hundred six zero six eight eight two two, eight
hundred six zero six eighty eight twenty two one eight
hundred six zero six eight eight two two. The topic
(22:26):
is obesity, The topic is weight. Way too many Americans
are overweight or obese today. Now they're being offered up
this magic pill or injection called a GLP one drug
under the brand labels of Ozembic and Wagavy commercials at
(22:47):
nauseum munjoro, and yet they don't realize the risks.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
That are involved with this.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
I mean, just looking at some of the potential adverse
side effects of this drug category pancreatitis, go all stones,
kidney damage, diabetic neuropathy, tachycardia, confusion, suicide, ideation. I mean,
the list goes on and on and on about the
potential adverse side effects. There are even people who are
(23:16):
having their intestinal area obstructed where they have to go
in and have surgery as a result of taking one
of these GLP one class of drugs in an effort
to lose weight. Now, yes, being overweight has its risks
associated with it. We understand that and that in and
of itself is a risk. But going with the hail
(23:38):
Mary effect of trying to manage that overnight by using
an injection or a drug is a real risk factor.
I do not suggest that, but that's your ultimate choice.
What I suggest is taking a more holistic approach.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
I e.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Let's fix the problem.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
Let's go to the cause of the problem, your metabolism,
because are you going to stay on the GLP one
drugs forever? The minute you stop, you're going to gain
all the weight back because you haven't dealt with.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
The original problem in the first place.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
And not on will you gain all the weight back
you lost, You're probably gonna gain more, which often happens
in most of these fast weight loss systems that are
rolling out, these fad systems. And this one is here
to stay because well, the Hollywood leader behind it, right,
and the pharmaceutical companies are pushing hard on it. But
yet there is a metabolic component to everyone's weight challenges.
(24:31):
Your metabolism for some reason is not burning the calories
that it ought to, and we need to talk about that.
Our special guest with us today is doctor Fadua Gillanders.
We're here talking about that very topic, Doctor Gillanders, welcome
back to the program. You mentioned making sure the body
(24:51):
metabolism is in good working order. Let's start with that.
You and I have discussed something called root Brands Sculpt,
which is to me, the answer for people that they're
looking for. They don't want to get caught up in
this expensive, risky drug class of using one of these
GLP one drugs. What is can you explain from a
(25:12):
doctor of pharmacy vantage point, what is root Brands Sculpt
and how does it differ from other weight management supplements?
Speaker 5 (25:21):
Right, so when we just dive deeper into metabolic syndromes,
I can give a better understanding of soul for your audience. So,
metabolism is a chemical process that occurs as them they
cell that is necessary for a maintance of life. And
so metabolic syndrome is a constellation of these interconnected cellular dysfunctions.
(25:42):
The inability to effectively store sugar, breakdown sugar, store fat,
and break down fat. And these are multiple systems and
the buy that are all working together. We call it
cell cock. Each of your cells are communicating with the
other cells, and so you're the pigney A're communicating with
your liver. Your liver is communicating with the fat cells.
Your muscle with communicated with the pancreas influence and vice versa.
(26:03):
So SKULLP is a holistic way of targeting these five
to six different pathways to realign the cell talk because
basically you're having a big miscommunication in your body. You know.
So when you when your fat cells are engorged and
they no longer can storting more fats, now you have
free fatty acids floating around the blood. Same thing with sugar.
(26:26):
If you have muscles for any more sugar, you have
all the sugar glucos sitting around the blood stream, and
then the liver just understands that, thinking you still need
more fuel and starts making more sugar and fat for you.
And so now you have this cycle process that's happening
when you can't get off of this feel. So sculp
targets these areas. Is about five to six different ingredients
(26:46):
of sculps proprietary blend and multifaceted proprietary blends that are
stacked with each other so they partner together. That's a
proprietory blending of partners together in order to meet signaling
pathways and give them to see the things, because really
what it also happens to metabolic syndrome. If it's a
chronic inflammatory state, you're chronically in splained, you have an
(27:10):
oxydive stress issue, you have inflammation issue, then the signaling issues.
So when you want to lose weight, weight loss is
really an outcome of a balanced metabolic state, not the
other way around.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Okay, So doctor Gillanders, does the GLP one drugs solve
that inflammatory process this metabolic syndrome.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
No, because it's just one pathway. So google god like peptide.
DLP is a protein hormone that's producing their testinal past
and it goes to the biggest nerve, the blood blood
vessel nerve that goes through your brain and it helps
increase influence. It also seems to help with natiety as well.
But that's one pathway. So if you put the pedals
to metal drug wise and keep stimulating that pathway, now
(27:54):
all those other pathways I talk to you about are
going to be they're going to go off the rails.
They're not going to what to do to.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Okay, all right, doctor Gillanders. Is So basically this drug
is paralyzing the vaga snurveer. I mean it's paralyzing the signal, isn't.
It's shutting down the appetite. It's tricking the body into
believing that it's full and it's really not. That's what
I perceive it to be doing.
Speaker 5 (28:16):
Right, But then if you need to store fat, you
still need to store fat, right, you're going to break
down fat. You need to store sugar. To break down sugar,
you're delivering. Your muscles are all depending on us. Your paint.
The reason why painter are titus is so high. The
side effect of this drug or these class of drugs
is because that's a GLP one does it helps create
stimulate the pancs influence. Well, the more you do that
(28:37):
now the painters are the plain. So these these signals,
these SELFI doing systems are now more misinlined than they
were before.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Got it, Yeah, to me, it's like whipping a tired horse,
is what I get it in my mind.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
I got to think about that.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
Ladies and John, we're talking about a supplement to suffice
for people who are having trouble with their weight weight challenge.
You've gained weight, you can't lose it. You don't want
to use drugs. You don't want to go on one

eating well and taking the all natural, safe, science based
(29:15):

The Root Brands dot Com Forward slash Doctor Bob.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
We'll be right back sell.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
Hi, welcome you back to this hour of the Doctor
Bob Martin's Show, stick Around because we've got a lot
of important health information to talk about.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Also, next hour, we're going to be taking a lot
of your.

is doctor Fadua Gillander. She is a pharmacy doctor, a
doctor of pharmacology, an expert in the area, and we've
been discussing the risks that are associated with these new
class of drugs that are in the marketplace now. GLP
(31:30):
wants drugs which are causing a lot of problems, people
being hospitalized and having all kinds of adverse reactions. And yes,
people are losing weight, but then as soon as they're
off the drug, they gain the weight right back because
they haven't dealt with the underlying reason why they gained
the weight in the first place, they haven't changed their
behavior to the lifestyle whatsoever, believing it's going to be
a permanent set.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
It's not. It never is.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
That is problematic, and that's why we asked her to
join us because we are aware of a nutritional supplement
in the marketplace that doctor Gillanders is all four because
she knows how it works called Sculpt. Sc Ulpt that
is studied. The ingredients that have gone into it are safe,
(32:18):
they're effective, science based, and a lot of people who
are taking it are actually addressing the underlying reasons along
with exercise and proper eating, the underlying reasons of their
metabolic derangement or metabolic imbalances, their desensitized insulin sensitivity, and
all of these things that go into the reason why
people start to gain weight and end up really overweight
(32:40):
and now are scrambling to do something about it, thinking
they go with a quick fix with drug therapy while
they roll the dice and risk all these bad adverse
side effects that we're reading about and hearing about with
people taking these GLP one drugs. All right back to
the conversation with doctor Gillanders, how does the supplement Doctor
Gillian Ers sculpt target the fat cells and promote fat
(33:03):
burning in the body.
Speaker 5 (33:06):
Yeah, the fat burning happens when you increase a protein
the hormone called a dypto. Practicing with word all day
atimo necine which regulates fat and glucose breakdown and increases
inclusitivity and regulates antiety. The cool thing about skull it
does two pronged approach, not only the direct approach to
(33:27):
get to the cell and help see the cell with
connectous story and breaking down sugar and fat, but it
also does the other prong approach by reducing inflammation and
actively stress. And you reduce information actual stress by increasing
these protein hormones like lutins, automo nectin, AMPK, activated protein
tining ensign. These things are usually these elements usually slow.
(33:51):
When we met about a syndrome is so high, Sculpe
helps to increase it. So it's not only the active
mechanism of looking at these side of st excel pathways
that we talked about, but also providing these cell pathways
that reduced giving them, giving them the powers they need
to activate by redep information and increasing interactivates for us.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
Okay, excellent, folks.
