my personal website at doctor Bob dot com. Spell out
the word doctor docto r bob dot com. We began

(03:18):
this hour in a discussion of a popular fermented food
linked to the decrease incidents of colon cancer. Maybe you've
been reading about this, how scientists are seeing the incidents
of colarectal cancer skyrocketing. They don't know what's going on.

(03:38):
They're all itching their heads wondering what the heck is
going on a recent study by the American Cancer Society.
Researchers are talking about this and they're looking at seeing
a rise in twenty seven of fifty countries and territories worldwide.
What is up? Well, here is the deal. A popular

(04:01):
fermented food linked to decreasing the incidents of coalorectal cancer.
Can you guess what that food is? If you guessed yogurt,
you would be correct. Yogurt linked to decreasing the incidence
of colorectal cancer. Wow, something that simple, A fermented sort

(04:24):
of a kind of like a spoiled form of food
going into the body, creating good bacteria in your gut
and helping you out. Why is that Well, because most
of your immune system resides in your gut, in your
gastro intestinal area, yogurt contains several live strains of bacteria

(04:46):
that are believed to help protect against many types of diseases.
Some studies suggest that it could help to reduce the
risk of coalorectal cancer. Taking a deeper dive into these
protective effects, a study published in Gut Microbes from mass
General Bringham found that long term consumption of yogurt may

(05:07):
help protect against colorectal cancer by promoting changes in the
gut microbiome. We've been talking about that on this radio
show for twenty eight years, encouraging people to protect their
gut microbiome because it is the center of your health's universe.

(05:27):
When it goes down, the whole body suffers. Some of
you have picked up on that encouragement with doctor Ohiris probiotics.
Others just it just falls off their back like water
off a duck. But now maybe this will motivate you
investigating the potential benefit of yogurt and good bacteria supplanting
that in the gut is important. The lead researcher says,

(05:50):
our study provides unique evidence about the potential benefit of yogurt,
according to doctor Shunji Ogino, mdphd, the chief of the
Program in Molecular Pathology Epidemiology the Department of Pathology at
Brigham and Women's Hospital, a founding member of Mass General

(06:11):
Brigham Healthcare System. The study utilized data from the Nurses
Health Study and the Health Professional's follow Up Study, which
followed over one hundred thousand female registered nurses and more
than fifty one thousand male health professionals who had been
followed over a period of forty to fifty years. It

(06:34):
has long been believed that yogurt and other fermented products
fermented food products are beneficial for gastro intestinal health. In
their paper, In their scientific paper, they add to the
growing evidence that illustrates the connection between diet, gut microbiome
and the risk of cola rectal cancer. Now you might

(07:00):
be saying to yourself, well, I don't want to take
in yogurt because I don't want to eat dairy products. Well,
then if that's the case, stick around for the health
alternative of the week, because I have you hooked up
big time. There is a healthier yogurt than using cow yogurt,
So stick around for that. We will have it. But
first let's get back to work with your telephone calls

(07:22):
and your health questions on the Doctor Bob Martin Show
caller hotline phone number of eight hundred six zero six
eight eight two two. Eight hundred six zero six eight
eight two two. Next up on that line is And
from Mount Vernon, Iowa.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Hi, Bob, this is And from Mount Vernon, Mount Vernon, Iowa.
I would like to know if you have any pits
on satty liver disease. Apparently I was just recently diagnosed
to us that I haven't seen my healthcare provider yet,
and I just was wondering what non prescription things nobody

(08:00):
can do for that.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Oh, and there's absolutely no game in town medically that
can help this condition. This is a lifestyle situation.

Speaker 6 (08:09):
It is.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
It's the cause of its excess accumulation of fat that
leads to a fatty liver in the diagnosis of non
alcoholic associated fatty liver disease. It's really that simple. And
what you have to do and is get away from
sugar and alcohol. That's key. And the standard American diet,

(08:33):
the SAD diet, which is all about greasy fried foods.
If you're overweight, you must you must lower your weight
because that's a big part of it. Another part of
it is insulin resistance, which is caused by not exercising
and eating too many fast acting, processed, highly processed, fast

(08:54):
acting carbohydrates. That's what you have to get away from.
So we've got to get your blood sugar under control.
Roll it's your A one C where it needs to be,
and make sure you're eating the right types of fat,
staying away from the excessive amount of saturated fats and
you'll do well. Now, there are supplements that you can

(09:15):
take for faty liver, no question about it. One is
called salimarin or thisilin works very well at helping this.
Another one is alphai polic acid. But I'm telling you here,
if you're not exercising, if you're not losing your weight,
if you're not making those adjustments in your diet, stay
away from refined carbohydrates. If you're drinking a lot of alcohol, well,

(09:37):
you need to live. And I'm gonna say this, not
meaning to scare you, not meaning to be mean, but
you need to be living real close to a real
hospital that does liver transplants, because this disease can get
so out of control and so bad and can cause
scarring into your liver and affect your quality of life
that someday a doctor may say, well, and it's time

(09:59):
for a liver t We've just tried everything. There's nothing
you can do about it. And geez, a huge amount
of population of the United States, I think last time
I looked at like twenty to thirty percent of people
either have it or going to have it. So the
key is exercise, staying away from the sugar and the
fast acting carbohydrates. That includes not drinking fruit juice. Do

(10:21):
not drink fruit juice unless you dilute it like maybe
ninety percent pure water to just a little bit of fruit.
Why not just go with the herbal teas and find
a functional medicine trained healthcare provider, a chiropractor, a nature

(10:41):
path a homeopath, somebody who can actually counsel you as
to how to get better with this. Conventional medical care
is not going to cut the mustard in this condition.
They're just not. I mean, how can they give you
a drug to poison an organ that's already poisoned your liver?
Because everything rolls through there. I wish you well though,

(11:01):
stay tuned. We're coming right back. It's the Doctor Bob
Martin Show.

Speaker 6 (11:05):
This is my Sunday side, not that lisson.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
I welcome you back to the Doctor Bob Martin showed.
If you like what you hear and you think other
people could benefit by listening into this show, by all means,
refer them to the program. The way to do that
successfully is to jot down the call letters of the
radio station you're listening to right now, and whether it
is an AM or FM station, look at the frequency

(11:52):
or listen to or listen for the frequency on the dial,
and of course note the time of the day, and
just tell as many people as you can about it
so they too have the opportunity to tune in to
hear about all this good stuff that we bring to
the table, about our most precious possession, that's health. Without it,
you have nothing. With it, you have everything. And that's

(12:14):
what we are dedicated to and all about helping you
with your health. You become your own best doctor most
of the time. All right, on the theme of what
we talked about, and we began this hour, the fact
that yogurt now linked. Consuming yogurt linked to decreasing the

(12:35):
incidence of colorectal cancer. And as I said, there are
other forms of yogurt beyond cow milk yogurt, And of
course you can always take doctor Ohiris probiotics to accomplish
the same thing by replanting the good bacteria in the

(12:56):
coalon to reduce your risk of all kinds of health
related problems. So we decided that you need an healthier
alternative to cow yogurt. They do exist, and here we
go the health alternative of the week. That's right. We

(13:23):
talk about not only the problems, but also how to
solve those problems, plugging you in, hooking you up. As
I mentioned, yogurt is amazing. Fermented foods are all amazing,
and how they benefit the human body. Some people choose
not to consume cow yogurt because they have read that

(13:43):
cow yogurt may have in it, not just the friendly bacteria,
the probiotics in it if it makes it to the site.
So much of the gastro intestinal region is hostile in
terms of its pH and acidity, so a lot of
that good bacteria may not even make it to the site.

(14:04):
But you also need to know that there are non
cow probiotics in the form of yogurt available to you
at health food stores. It's true, and that is where
we're going to focus our attention right now in the
health alternative of the week, and that is for non dairy,

(14:26):
non dairy yogurt, because some of you are afraid of
getting that recombinant bovine growth hormone in cow milk yogurt.
Some of you are concerned of not getting traces of
antibiotics in your cow milk yogurt because cowls often get
excessively shot up with antibiotics. They get hormone shots to

(14:52):
increase their milk production. There's all kinds of allergies associated
with cow milk, and so here's the healthier alternative. Doctor
Bob Hooking you up. It's called non dairy yogurt, found
at finer health food or health grocery stores nationwide. You
can certainly find it at natural grocer stores because when

(15:17):
you're eating or consuming non dairy yogurt, did you know
that the yogurt contains calcium, phosphorus, zinc, selenium, idine, riboflaviing
vitamins V five and B twelve.

Speaker 6 (15:30):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
A twenty twenty study found that regular yogurt consumers had
a higher quality diet, a lower risk of obesity, and
higher intakes of fiber, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and vitamin D.
One of the drawbacks with traditional cow based yogurts is

(15:53):
the high amounts of sugar content, and a lot of
people like yogurt because it's like eating ice cream. To them,
it's like a sugar orgy because at the bottom of
that cup of yogurt it's jam full of sugar, which
pretty much defeats all the good bacteria in that yogurt cup.
It's easier to find candy flavored yogurt at the store,

(16:16):
which is really what I'm talking about if it's the
prototypical yogurt. But the health alternative of the week is
gonna address that standby then it is to find no
sugar yogurt. And if you're gonna eat cow yogurt, at
least get the plain stuff. Don't get any flavors in there,
because that yogurt is jam full of sugar that increases
your calorie content, that suppresses your white blood cells. Oh,

(16:39):
it's just not good for you. And there are other
drawbacks besides that, as I mentioned antibiotics and bovine growth
hormone and cow yogurt. You would be better off buying
a plane yogurt and adding your own flavors of fruits.
You put the blueberries, you put the raspberries in there,
or whatever fruit you like, without any sugar in it.

(17:02):
And if you're thinking, well, I'll get one that doesn't
have sugar, it's got the nutritive sweeteners in it. The
non no, don't get those. Those are even worse.

Speaker 5 (17:11):
Well.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
The health alternative of the week is dairy free yogurt
made with plant based milks, which are lower in fat
than traditional cow yogurt, do not contain lactose, which is
milk sugar which a lot of people are sensitive and
allergic to and are lower or they have no sugar

(17:32):
added whatsoever. Here are the options that you have in
the health alternative of the week. Non dairy yogurt brands
include So Delicious yogurt made with coconut milk. There are
other milks, by the way, besides cow milk, so expand
your vision So Delicious yogurt made with cow milk. You've

(17:52):
got kite Hill yogurt made with almond milk. You've got
painter Land Sisters yogurt made with cashhee milk, and you
have oat Lee oat l y Oatly yogurt made with
obviously oat milk. These healthier alternative yogurts can be used
just like people using cowmilk yogurt, but without all the

(18:15):
other cow junk that's in there that you don't need
or want. That way, it becomes very easy to eat
a more plant based food diet and keeps you another
step closer to being healthier and changing up into healthier habits.
Non dairy yogurt exists, and it exists in the health

(18:38):
grocery stores maybe near you. You can find out more
about if there's a natural grocery store to you by
logging onto the website naturalgrocers dot com. Natural Grocers dot com.
And if you don't have a natural grocery store near you,
maybe the store you go to can order it for you.
There's all kinds of plant based yogurts out there to find.

(18:59):
I just listed them. If you missed him, you'll be
able to hear it in the podcast library either over
at Radioamerica dot com or on my website at doctor
Bob dot com in about two days. All right, let's
get right back to work through telephone calls and questions. Remember,
as you hear people calling into the program, you can
too with your health related question or health comment. That

(19:20):
number eight hundred six zero six eight eight two two.
Eight hundred six zero six eight eight two two. Next up,
we say hello to Dell in Jonesboro, Tennessee.

Speaker 7 (19:34):
Hi. My name is Dell. Love your show. I'm from Jonesboro, Tennessee.
And with all the talk about floride at the water,
I just want to mention that when I was a kid,
my parents also were healthshed nuts, which I am, and
they said that floride was used as rap poison. I
didn't hear that on your show today, so I thought

(19:55):
i'd mentioned it, and they didn't like when they put
the floor in the water and sixties or whatever.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Thank you, all right, thank you for your comment. Don't know,
floride is not really rat poison, but it is toxic.
It's a neurotoxin. I used to interview a guy by
the name of doctor Johnny Emianness, PhD, back in the eighties,
and he was already hollering very loudly about how bad

(20:23):
fluoride is and you shouldn't be habit in the water.
It's cancerous, it damages the human body. And all of
his colleagues and of course the big pharma and big
Agra and conventional medicine attacked him. Now we're finding out
that fluoride is bad news. It's terrible to put it
in your body, whether it's in a dental florid treatment,

(20:46):
in the mouth, or in your water. It's just not good.
It's a neurotoxin. It causes cancer over time. I agree
with you. All right. We're gonna come back soon with
the health outrage of the week. I'm doctor Bob Martin.

Speaker 8 (21:04):
Anybody's got fame, mistakes, but everybody's.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
Got a choice to make. Everybody needs to.

Speaker 6 (21:11):
Leave the faith. When are you taking your.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
Money?

Speaker 3 (21:17):
You infote? All right, doctor Bob Martin back with you.
Coming up very shortly. Here will be the health outrage
of the week, and then we're gonna get right back
to work with your health related questions and or comments
on the Doctor Bob Martin Show Caller hotline, which is

(21:38):
eight hundred six zero six eighty eight to two to two.
This opens up an opportunity for me to help you
with your health or to field your health related comment
your choice. Simply dial into this number. It is told
free nationwide any time of the night or day. You
can call now if you want, you'll hear me answer

(21:59):
the phone. I'll ask you to state your first name,
city and state you're living, and that's it. Make sure
your radio is not blaring in the background. Make it
short and sweet. That number is eight hundred six zero
six eight eight two two one eight hundred six zero
six eighty eight twenty two. Before we get to the
health outrage of the week, let me remind you how
important your oral cavity is. I mean, I see a

(22:22):
lot of people that are out exercising excellent, they're eating well, perfect,
they're trying to think positive, positive mental attitude, they're lowering
their stress really good. But they're not taking good care
of their oral health. They're not. And I know this
because when you take case histories from patients and you

(22:45):
ask them about these things that go well. Do you
brush your teeth every day? Oh well, maybe every other day.
Do you floss No? Do you use a swisher through
your teeth?

Speaker 9 (22:56):
No?

Speaker 3 (22:56):
How often do you see your dental hygienis for deep
cleaning maybe one every two years. Really, and I'm starting
to think, Wow, you're missing a huge opportunity to keep
the inflammatory process down in the entire body, because sometimes
it begins in the oral cavity and it spreads into
your body in the form of well peridonal disease, gingivitis,

(23:16):
of course, tooth decave. You don't take good care of
your health, and then you have bad breath. What I do,
and what I suggest people do, is ay focus more
on their oral cavity to begin with. You have control
that you can be your own best dentist most of
the time. Do what I do. Use the Spry Spry
toothpaste and Spry mouth rints. You can also use their

(23:42):
gum and mints to impart the secret sauce which stops
these things. These dental problems from happening, so that when
you go to your dentist or hygenis, they're gonna say, wow,
what are you doing because you're looking good in your
oral cavity. And then you can keep the inflammatory process
down starting in your mouth that convey deeper into your body,

(24:04):
into your heart, into your joints, fatigue you all of it.
You can put the fire out right where a lot
of people's fire begins in the mouth that they're not
paying attention to. It's the spry dental defense system. Now,
the secret sauce is a plant based substance in these

(24:24):
tooth bases and mouth rents and gum and mints called xylotol.
It's a science based substance and the studies have shown
it's used by millions of people and it works by
competing with these germs, the Streptococcus mutants. There's a byproduct
of their metabolism that's like pure acid in the mouth.

(24:48):
And when you don't stop those germs from overpopulating in
your microbiome in your mouth, they get out of control
and they increase your risk of tooth to gauge, gingivitis,
peridontal disease, and tooth loss. This xylotol tricks them into
believing there's food there, they chow down on it, they die,
they leave. It's that simple. That's the secret sauce in

(25:08):
the Spry Dental Defense System. It is an easy, inexpensive
way to have this happen in your life like we
do in the Doctor Bob Martin household and all of
my colleagues who understand this, and if you want squeaky
clean teeth, gums and breath that is fantastic, then use
the Spray Dental Defense System. Spray Dental Defense is available

(25:31):
at CVS and Rite Aid Pharmacies, Target, Vitamin Chop Sprouts,
and all natural grocery stores, or you can go directly
to the company and their website for more information at
Clear dot com. That's spelled X as in xylotol x
L ear clear dot com. Or you can find the
Spray Dental Defense System in finer stores everywhere. They're the

(25:53):
same makers of the Clear nasal sprays that I talk
about here on the show all the time. All right,
let's now transition over to the health outrage of the
wheat She's I don't believe it. Come on each to
for the health outradge because it's nothing.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
But.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
It is outrageous and I will never drink another bottle
of this bottle Top brand water ever again. I thought
it was the purest water that you could find, but
there's been a lot of problem associated with it. Just
this last week you probably heard about it. Fuji Water
not good. Top bottle water brand sued over claims it

(26:38):
contains toxic chemicals linked to cancer. Premium water brand Fiji
is being sued. Would I say Fuji Fiji being sued
overclaims it misled customers about toxic chemicals in its bottled water.
The environmental advocacy group the Plastic Pollution Coalition has filed

(27:00):
a complaint against the La based water brand, stating that
lab tests revealed both microplastics and biz phenola or BPA
in its water, bottles water products. These undisclosed substances, the
nonprofit organizations say, have been linked to a range of

(27:22):
health problems, including cancer, fertility issues, autism, cardiovascular complications, and
even death. There is no publicity available research showing that
Fiji water contains microplastics or BPA. That's, of course what
the spokesman says. But this other group says otherwise. Researchers

(27:44):
at Columbia University, of course, previously found that the average
leader bottle of stored bottle water contains two hundred and
forty thousand nanoplastics in it. So if this is true,
and they are found to have this biz phenol a
BPA and microplastics in Fiji water, I will never ever

(28:10):
drink another bottle that because we think, oh, Fiji, way
out in the middle of the South Pacific, that water's
got to be really pure over there without pollution. I
think I'll get it, and I'm willing to pay a
premium for it because my body deserves clean as possible water.
Never again with Fiji water. If this holds true, and

(28:30):
that is the health outrage of the week. All right,
let's get right back to work with your telephone calls
and questions. Next up is Nancy calling in from Johnson City, Tennessee.

Speaker 10 (28:39):
Van C.

Speaker 11 (28:40):
From Johnson City, Tennessee. My question is, Okay, I have
supposedly plethoratis in my eyes. The jail that I have
been that I am given every time is not working.
I have swollen olids, very dry pilley stand around. So

(29:02):
my question is could it be something else, or could
it be a symptom of another eye illness that I
have not been told about.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Oh, yes, it can be blepheritis. It can be anything.
You could be a staff infection. It could be something
that you're coming in contact with, environmentally and skin care products,
medical drugs you're taking, could be eyelid mites, could be
an autoimmune flare up of some sort. If it's blepheritis,
you know, I would suggest you try using warm, moist

(29:37):
camomile tea bags over your eyes. You close your eye
lid and you put warm, not hot camomile tea bags
over the eye lid three times a day to reduce
the swelling. Then you apply a small amount be very
careful not to get this into your eye, A small
amount of Ta tree oil. That be really careful. If
it doesn't clear up in a couple of weeks, you

(29:57):
need to go back and see if a doctor, a
function medicine doctor to check internal issues. Thank you for
your phone call.

Speaker 6 (30:06):
So you sor.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
A Bossom number signonmencible Bee never single.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
Sore tuned into the Doctor Bob Martin show and for
that I appreciate you doing so and telling others to
do the same thing. Stay in touch with us. Always
stay apprized of all the latest news over on my
personal website at doctor Bob dot com spelling out the
word doctor D O C T O R Bob dot com.
We're in the middle of an open line conversation related
to the topic of health, inviting you with your health

(30:52):
related question or comment to TiAl into our Doctor Bob
Martin Show caller hotline phone number, which is eight hundred
and six zero eight eight two to eight hundred six
zero six eight eight two two. Next up is Radu
from New York.

Speaker 12 (31:08):
Thank you, Doctor Bob for the opportunity, and I make
a point of catching your radio show every week. I
do wish it was on more often because I think
that you provide a tremendous, tremendous service not only to us,
but to the world. My name is Rando and I'm

(31:30):
calling from New York. It's concerning something that's not talked about,
but things that I need to know about. It's concerning
the past pandemic with the Kobe virus. And I don't
know how much you know about this that I wouldn't

(31:51):
be surprised if you don't know a lot, But it's
concerning the whole thing around the shedding of the virus,
and the shedding part means that the people that have
had the virus or have come in contact with it
can then pass certain elements of it onto another person

(32:14):
by the exchange of bodily fluids. What I want to
know is, is the shedding of this COBY virus the
same as when people got AIDS and they could spread
it that way and it didn't seem like it mattered
how long after they had come in contact with it,

(32:37):
which the other way that happened, but they carried on
this ability to pass.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Okay, the answer is yes. COVID virus shedding to other
people typically happens through air or close contact and is
estimated to about third days from the acute onset, but
some experts believe RADU that COVID shot recipients can shed

(33:11):
through close contact or through sexual contact indefinitely, since the
mRNA is designed to take over certain genes and continue
replicating the virus. So exchange of bodily fluids or IV
needle sharing is of course how HIV is typically spread,
and a person with HIV is of course more susceptible

(33:34):
to contracting COVID nineteen because of a week in immune system.
So the answer is yes. I think if somebody gets
COVID nineteen naturally and they haven't been vaccinated, they haven't
got given the clot shot, their body builds up immunity
and therefore after thirty days they may not be able

(33:55):
to spread or do shed germs, shed vibeviral germs to
those people who they come in contact with sexually. However,
the people who have had the COVID shots, and because
they shed forever, according to the experts, the's MRA because
you take over and just keep replicating. They are passing

(34:16):
that through sexually, through sexual contact and through close contact
kissing and vapors through the air. So yes, I hopefully
that answers your question. Appreciate your kind comments to rad do.
I sure do? All right? Next up is Jim in Franklin,
North Carolina.

Speaker 8 (34:35):
Hey, doctor Bob, this is Jim in Franklin, North Carolina,
and my question is one on parasites and then another
one who's on tonight. Thank you.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
Okay, Jim, First of all, parasites, you can get tested
for parasites instead of just believing you have. Most people
do to some degree. You can get a test called
the CDT test Comprehensive digestive extended panel that's through saliva
and stool testing and that'll detect parasites and nail down

(35:12):
what type of parasite it is, and then you can
find out what that parasite is sensitive to. But generally speaking,
taking black walnut tincture or wormwood oil is a good
way to get rid of parasites if you want to
just you know, shoot from the hip approach. With respect
to ringing in the ears, there's a formula out there

(35:34):
called Ringstop for tonitis, but also acupunctures help people with tenitis.
Chiropractic care has helped people with tenitis. There are two
hundred and fifty medical drugs that cause or exacerbate tenitis
or ringing in the ears, including caffeine, aspirin, ibuprofen, in
about two hundred and forty seven other drugs that can
cause ringing in the ears. So you also need to

(35:57):
avoid loud noise, loud music that is a major contributor
to ringing in the years. All right, Jim, thank you
for your phone call. Next is Bernice in Arizona.

Speaker 5 (36:07):
Hello, My name is Bernice in Arizona. I have a question.
I want to know what test can we do to
detect arterial plaque? The best test to do for arterial
plaque that's not invasive. They could definitely tell us that

(36:29):
headed for a heart attack.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Thank you, all right, Bernice. Well, to detect arterial plaque,
it's called a coronary calcium scan, also known as a
calcium score or c AC test. It's a CAT scan,
which is a really sophisticated X ray that measures the
amount of calcium deposits in the arteries. You know you're

(36:51):
going to get the hard plaque measured, not the soft however,
and that's why you need blood tests to consider the
rest of it, like homocysteine and a sea reactive protein
and all of that. We talk about it many times
on the show. Thank you for your phone call.

Speaker 6 (37:04):
We'll be right back.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
All right. We are in our final segment here on
the Doctor Bob Martin Show, and my co pilot of
the program, Phil has made an executive decision on my behalf.
He says, Doctor Bob, you're running a little late and
you're not answering enough phone calls. You're getting behind on
your calls, so let's forego the health Mystery of the week.
So if you're missing that, blame Phil folks. But here

(37:41):
we go. We've gotten the next caller and that'll be
Rick in Saint George, Utah.

Speaker 10 (37:46):
Mine, doctor Bob. This is Rick from Saint George, Utah.
I have a question. A couple of my grandkids have
excellent What would be the best way to help them
deal with that? Thank you very much to no listen
on the show.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
All right, thanks for the call. Ric Ezema is a
food allergy disease. They can when they're old enough to
get a blood test Elisa act Elisa slash ACT could
help to determine which food intolerances or food allergies they have.
But anything can cause ezema in childhood. Vaccines that they've had.
Nutrient deficiencies you must avoid in children or anybody who

(38:25):
has eggzem. You've got to avoid dairy foods, sugar, peanuts, corn, soy,
and wheat. Those are the most common allergies until that
we can get blood tested to confirm what's going on.
Keep them away from French fries, chips, shellfish. Eliminate all gluten,
which is all grains. There are certain grains in a
non gluten look of that make sure you're not using

(38:46):
soaps that are harmful. Children or anybody who has egzemba
should be taking Omega three oils like salmon oil, little
extra Vitamin D, little extra vitamin E, and doctor ohiraes probiotics.
Beyond those that supplement Doctor oher Is probiotics, there's also
a spray you can put on them called zinc pirthig

(39:07):
on topically. It's the best thing you can do. And
they can take hot baths using dead sea minerals in
the hot bass that'll help soothe it. Appreciate your phone call.
Next up is Robert from Beaumont, Texas.

Speaker 9 (39:21):
Good morning, Doctor Bob. This is Roberts. I am calling
from Beaumont, Texas, and I'm listening to you on Cage
tw thirteen hundred Am. I just wanted to make a comment.
I appreciated a couple of weeks ago your assessment of

(39:44):
the flu vaccine. That was very telling and I did
some additional research and found out you were right on target.
So keep up the good work. I will be listening
to the Doctor Bob Show. Have a great day.

Speaker 8 (39:59):
Bye bye.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
All right, right, well, that sounds to me like a
stroker Phil. What do you say, we go out of here,
out of the show. On the on the Stroker theme music,
here we go. This is a caller calling in to
tell the host thank you and compliment the host. Unlike
other hosts who break their arms patting themselves on the back,

(40:19):
I don't do it because it's better to have somebody
stroke you than you stroke yourself. We call that a
health stroker and you just heard it, and you can
call in if you like to this program, just like
Phil and Rick and all the rest of them on
the program today the eight hundred number into the program
eight hundred six zero six eight eight two to two

(40:42):
to ask your health question, make your health comment, or
stroker eight hundred and six zero six eighty eight twenty two.
Make it a healthy day in a healthy week. You've

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
