significantly over the last five years or so. Dementia's on
(02:09):
the rise. You've heard of the word dementia, the worst
of which is Alzheimer's disease. Well, a Landmark study found
people improve their memory scores after implementing changes. We're going
to be talking about those changes, So stick around for
the entirety of this hour. Simple things you can employ
(02:31):

Now we also have the website that you have access

that's fine. And if you prefer to just type out
a short email to us, you can do that as
(04:35):
well over at doctor Bob dot com spelling out the
word doctor DC t O R Bob dot com. Then
your question or your comment. It's that simple, all right,
We begin popular breakfast foods protecting your brain from memory
loss and dementia. Some simple diet swaps, Ladies and gentlemen,
(04:58):
that could be the key in preventing early onset dementia.
And maybe you already have it, or you suspect you
have it, You should be all over this. We know
that more than seven million Americans have been diagnosed already
with memory robbing Alzheimer's disease, the worst, the very worst
(05:18):
form of dementia, and many millions more. Some people estimate
another seven million, maybe ten million people with at least
one of eight other forms of dementia. There's many different
forms of dementia, at least eight of them. And that figure,
by the way, is on the rise big time. It's
(05:40):
in fact, it's expected to double in the next twenty.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Years or more. And I know what you're saying. Oh,
it's not gonna happen to me.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
I'm sharp as attack, I don't have any memory is
as well. Look all these people who get Alzheimer's said
the same thing. All the upwards of fifteen million people
who either suffered from the worst form of Alzheimer's or
worse form of memory loss that is Alzheimer's, or some
other form of Alzheimer's, all seven or eight of the
other ones said the same thing, And eventually they lost
(06:12):
their ability to.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Think and remember.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
You know why you walked into a room where you
put your keys, names, places, things that you easily were
able to remember before. You can't now why you're losing
your cognition, your brain function, your executive function in your brain.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
What can you do about it?
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Plenty, we're here for you to help you. Doctor Adam Brockman,
did I well one major study in the Landset Journal,
a very prejudiced, very prestigious medical journal, published a study
and they found that more than a dozen of the
(06:54):
most common risk factors for dementia are modifiable, which means changeable.
You can change your way and save your brain. Yeah,
that includes your diet. What you eat, what you put
in your mouth may be sabotaged in your health your
brain and you don't even know it. Your doctor's not
(07:15):
talking about it, mostly because doctors don't have any clue
about dietary changes and or nutrition because it's not part of.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
The medical learning curve.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
However, other doctors who have gone outside of their standard
medication standard education are interested in it because they see
all these studies coming out and so they jump back
in and receive postgraduate training in functional medicine integrative medicine.
But the good news is other forms of healthcare providers
(07:48):
already know this stuff and have access to this information
and practice it on a daily basis. We're talking about
doctors like nature pathic doctors, chiropractic physicians, homeopathic physicians, and
people trained in clinical nutrition, even PhDs. This is great news, folks,
for people who were told or believe unfortunately that they
(08:12):
have no ability to prevent any form of memory loss
or dementia. You can change it. I know for years
people have called into this radio show, Sam oh Well,
my doctor says, Yeah, I had Alzheimer's in the family,
and I'm gonna get is just as certain as death
and taxes. Just get prepared for it. Tell the family
you're gonna be wandering around, perhaps in the backyard someday,
(08:35):
and you won't know where you're at foot or horseback.
You won't know your name, you won't be able to
even drive a car, you.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Won't even know about yourself. But it can change, It
can happen. You have to believe it.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Never believe the stuff that you're told that you can't
change it. There's hope, and the results of this landset
landmark trial are very clear. They found that people at
risk of developing dementia improve their cognition scores after implementing
very simple dietary changes that you can do yourself and
(09:14):
including they found if you exercise on a regular basis,
that can also derail your potential risk towards Alzheimer's disease.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
That's amazing if.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
You think about it, within your control of what you
do on a daily basis, you have the ability to
save your brain and save your memory, all those beautiful
memories you've collected that you want access to until the
day you stop breathing.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
That's a good thing.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Some people keep breathing in the memory you're completely wiped
out due to a number of issues related to dementia. Now,
recent studies have shown foods. That's right, foods we eat
rich in nutrients like proteins and antioxidants, b vitamins, and carbohydrates. Yep,
carbohydrates could reduce the risk of most of these forms
(10:11):
of dementia.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
They can.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
And that includes a whole list of foods that I
want you to know about. So I'm going to give
you the opportunity during the next break coming up to
grab something to write with and write on so that
you can jot down the foods that you should include
in your diet on a regular basis in order to
(10:36):
protect your brain from loss of memory dementia. This is
so simple if you just get it into action and
believe that you can do it. And that is the
purpose of the Doctor Bob Martsins show. Stay with us,
We're coming right back. You're tuned into Yeah, that's right.
(10:57):
Remember the Doctor Bob Martin's show.
Speaker 4 (10:59):

Something gotta stand by.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
Because hey, healthy, and I'm very happy.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Welcome or welcome back to this hour at the Doctor
Bob Martin Show.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
I'm going solo today.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Doctor Brockman is off getting some much deserved time off
with the family. He'll be back with us next week,
so stand by for that. And in the first segment
of the program, if you're with me, you heard me
talking about the fact that they're now realizing that certain
foods in our diet, particularly breakfast foods, perhaps can protect
(12:47):
our brain, our brains from memory loss and dementia, which
is on the rise.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Millions and millions.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Of people being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Nobody ever thinks
they're going to get it. Everybody thinks, well, that happens.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
To gramdmas and grampaws.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
It's not gonna happen to me, these people in their twenties, thirties, forties,
and fifties, I'll never get it. In fact, my brain
as sharp as a deck. People claim that, and then
suddenly boom, they're diagnosed with dementia of some sort. We
don't want that. We want to protect you. That's what
this show is all about, helping you to become your
own best doctor. Most of the time by searching out,
(13:30):
gathering and putting into action information and knowledge and protecting
your health.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Your health is your wealth.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
So I'm getting ready to and I told you during
that last segment to be prepared with writing something down
some information about certain foods that if you consume them,
if you eat them on a regular basis, particularly let's
say breakfast foods, you can actually help your brain function
better and protect it. It's like swallowing health insurance in
(13:59):
the of your food. So let's start with that. Now,
we see these recent studies that have shown that foods
that are rich in protein, antioxidants, B vitamins, carbohydrates can
reduce the risk of most of these dimensions. Let's start
with eggs, the simple egg that has been demonized for
(14:22):
years by the medical profession telling you that if you
eat eggs, your cholesterol will go up, which is nonsense,
and if your cholesterol goes up, you'll die, which is
more nonsense. We've talked about it on this show for years.
All that was about was a play towards getting you
(14:45):
to another pharmaceutical to counter that rise in your cholesterol
that's going to kill you caused by a food that
really doesn't cause that eggs. Eggs are good, especially when
they're far raised and organic and all of that.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
We'll get to that.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
But eggs, which were long demonized for high fat and
cholesterol in particular, are enjoying a big health renaissance, in
part thanks to this radio show informing people that they're
not that bad.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
In fact, they're good.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
They're a great food, and they contain brain healthy amino
acids and vitamins. In fact, when you have an egg,
it's it's like eating a multi vitamin.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
It's got so many nutrients your brain needs. So eggs
are good.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
I'm gonna tell you which ones are and how to
prepare them during this information that we're providing for you
here on the radio show. Let's move on to the
next category. Though, berries and dark leafy greens. You should
of course include that. We all hear that how important
(15:50):
vegetables are in the diet. We don't get enough as Americans,
and the vegetables we get are often nutrition less, so
make sure they're organic. You can get them at natural
grocery stores nationwide, or if you can't find a natural
grocery store, you can certainly purchase pulverized in powder form
organic fruits and vegetables and add it to your water
(16:13):
and just drink them, kind of like Doctor Tony's greens
or the pomegranate that Doctor Tony talked about on this
radio show not long ago. So important are these antioxidants
to protect the brain cells responsible for memory, shielding your
memory by decreasing levels of inflammation. That's where it's at.
(16:36):
That's the smoking gun. Shut down the inflammation, protect the brain.
Protect the brain with food, thinking like it's shielding the
brain cells from the damage that inflammation can do.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
So you need the right foods.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
And even and I gotta say this, even pure dark
chocolate of course without any of the cane sugar or
little of it may improved blood flow to the brain
and boost functioning of your brain even when you are
a seasoned citizen. Just make sure that that choco latte,
that chocolate that you're eating is quality chocolate. I'm not
(17:14):
talking about junk food, Hershey's or any of the other stuff.
I'm talking about quality chocolate that has like a level
of a minimum of seventy CACW percent seventy percent.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
COCW and little or no sugar.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
And maybe try to find a chocolate that has been
sweetened with maybe stevia or some other sweetener that's much
healthier for you than shoegar. Let's get back to the eggs, though,
so that you're clear on this. Eggs are a key feature.
Most of us know this from the standard American diet,
(17:50):
which is fine with more than one in three adults
claiming they have them for breakfast. I do on a
weekly basis. In fact, I remember talking about this years
and years ago when I practiced in Denver, Colorado, and
researchers were up in the mountains trying to locate this
(18:11):
reclose man who is living up there. Some hikers stumbled
on him and talked to him, and he said, I've
been up here for thirty years. Nobody knows I'm here.
And they go, how have you survived up here in
the mountains of Colorado all these years without any grocery
stores and so forth around you?
Speaker 3 (18:32):
Well, I have it. Chickens. I raised chickens.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
That's what I eat. I eat thirty eggs a day. Oh,
thirty eggs a day. These people came off the mountain.
The hikers came off the mountain and reported this to
health authorities in Denver saying, this man's up on that mountain,
he's going to kill himself. He's eating thirty days thirty
eggs a day, and we all know that eggs are
bad for you. So sure enough, the researchers found their
(18:59):
way to he was living and went in deep into
the mountains in Colorado, and he agreed to give his
blood to them to check him out, and they found
his cholesterol was perfectly normal on thirty eggs a day.
What's that tell you, Well, it tells you that the
(19:20):
pharmaceutical companies have been successfully brainwashing Americans that if you eat.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Eggs are gonna be unhealthy.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
And the reason why your cholesterol is high is because
you're deficient in your diet in statin drugs, which is bogus.
And we have talked about that for years on this
radio show. Eggs are good, it's and cholesterol is good
as long as it's not oxidized.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
That's the key.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Oxidized cholesterol small particle. Yeah, those things can be tested
for the standard test. As I kind of deviate here,
the standard test for cholesterol being high means absolutely nothing.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Total cholesterol means absolutely nothing.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
In fact, people live longer who have high total cholesterol
than people who have perfect cholesterol. It's true, look up
the evidence for yourself. But eggs, we know are a
key feature in the American diet. One in three adults
claiming to have them every day for breakfast. And one
large egg is really the equivalent of about one hundred and
(20:22):
fifty milligrams of an important nutrient that is rain saving.
And this is where the egg in your diet saves
your brain, reduces your risk of dementia losing your memory.
Coline is the nutrient eggs are replete with something called coleine.
About a quarter of all recommended daily value of coleine
(20:43):
into the American diet comes from eating one egg. Coline
is estam is an essential nutrient also found in protein
sources such as and you should be eating these as
well salmon. If you're going to eat beef at all,
make sure it's beef that is not full of antaetibiotics
and other hormones. Get the organic stuff chickens the same way.
(21:05):
They all support memory, mood, and muscle control. It's thought
also eggs to boost your neurotransmitters. We're talking about coline now,
which comes mostly in eggs and other foods, a neurotransmitter
called acedocholine, which controls memory and learning, and it reduces
(21:28):
the levels of neurotoxins we've talked about on the show, homocystine,
which you should get your blood tested for. Every blood
test you get homocystine that can damage your neurons. Better yet,
take a methylated form of BE complex and tmg trimethyl
glycine found in health food stores like natural grocers. All right,
(21:49):
we're not done with this topic. It's the Doctor Bob
Martin Show today, saving your brain, and we'll be right back.
Speaker 6 (21:58):
Are you waiting on a night stake? How you waiting
for the perfect night? How you waiting to the time
is night? Don't you want to learn to deal it?
Don't you want to take the wheel and stead? Don't
you be another man? What are you in fun?
Speaker 2 (22:27):
All right, welcome or welcome back to this hour of
the Doctor Bob Martin Show. We thank you so very
much for tuning into the program today. I also want
to let you know that doctor Brockman's off today. He'll
be back with us next weekend. And you also need
to be apprized of the fact that you can call
into our Doctor Bob Martin Show, call her hotline phone
(22:51):
number and ask a question about your health. Doctor Brockman
and I analyze all those calls and we either talk
about them on the air, or we call you personally.
It's that simple, or one of our staff will call
you and give you the answer to your question. If
you also are interested in or inclined to make a
(23:11):
health related comment, we'd love that as well. Jotss toll
free number down so you have it for safekeeping. Maybe
you have some sick friends or family members, of co
workers or neighbors that are not well and you want
to pass the.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
Number on to them. You can do that.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
We love that. That's how this show grows thanks to you.
After all, we are the largest radio health talk show
in America in large part thanks to you. That's toll
free number accessing Doctor Brockman and I for health questions
or health comments is eight hundred six zero six eight
eight two to two. Eight hundred six zero six eight
(23:49):
eight two to two. Please remember the only bad health
questions the one you're not asking. Make it simple and
straight forward. Brevity is always appreciated when calling into the
show and ask asking a question about your health. Will
ask you to state your first name, first name only,
city and state, and then your question or your comment.
That's first name only, city and state, and then your
(24:12):
question or comment all right now, then I want you
also to know we're gonna get back to this conversation
about how we are attempting to help you save your
brain by making sure you know which foods to start
your day with, maybe breakfast foods that are brain related
boosting foods, memory boosting foods. We'll get back to that
(24:36):
in just a little bit. And I also want to
remind you coming up on the program today, I'm gonna
be talking about how medical drugs, drugs that doctors prescribe,
taken by fifty percent of Americans. You ready for this,
can raise your risk of cancer years after you stopped
taking those drugs. Let me say that again. Ye percent
(25:01):
of Americans are taking medical drugs right now or they
took them in the past that can actually raise your
risk of cancer years after you stop taking them. We
are going to get to this breaking information, so don't
go anywhere. Incredible stuff we've got to talk about, all right,
(25:22):
before we get back to the conversation about how to
protect your brain with just a little tweak, and some
modification of what you eat, maybe starting out your day
like breakfast. I want to talk about the oral cavity
where that breakfast goes into lunch, dinner goes into that
oral cavity your mouth, and because those foods go into
(25:44):
your mouth, that's how dental problems begin. We have to
have proper maintenance of our oral health in order to
keep those pearly white teeth an entire lifetime, so that
you don't end up with dentures, full mouth full of
dancers like your parents or grandparents or great grandparents did.
You should have teeth your entire life if you take
(26:05):
good care of them.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
You know how to take care of them.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Now, this doctor, also doctor Brockman, and his family, and
my family and all the colleagues that we know, are
interested in preventing tooth decay. We're also interested in not
having gingivitis, inflammation of our gums, or periodontal disease, or
bad breath or having teeth extracted because of you know, decay.
(26:31):
And that's exactly why we have all moved away from
that commercial garbage that's available out there in the marketplace. Crest, Colgate,
all the rest of them, They're a brand all of
it because it's full of all kinds of chemicals your
body doesn't need or want. And we moved over to
something called Spry Spry toothpaste. Write it down the next
(26:53):
time you're in the store. Looked for Spry, Spry toothpaste
and Spry Mouth rents.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
They also have gum and as well.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
I gotta say this, I've always been a little uptight
going to the dentist. I love my dentist and the hygienis,
and I go. They're on a maintenance basis for some
deep cleaning. But I don't want to have the drill
coming out and headed in my direction.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
No, I don't want it. I don't want root canals.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
And that's exactly why I use Spry toothpaste and rints
with Spry Mouth Rints. Spry comes in delicious flavors, just
so you know this, peppermint, cinnamon, and spearmint. The secret
sauce is in something called xylotol. The human body actually
makes this substance xylotol, but just not enough to get
(27:41):
to the oral cavity to trick the germs into consuming
it and dying and leaving your oral cavity, so it's
pristine clear. Millions of people now have picked up on
this and are using the Spry Dental Defense system so
that they can avoid dental collision with the drill. Basically,
silencealls a plant based ingredient in Spry, and when you
(28:05):
put it in your oral cavity, the germs leave the
microbiota in the oral cavity become excellent with their health.
So Spry Dental Defense System it's anti cavity, anti plack,
and anti bad news. The next time you're in the
dental hyghgenus chair or the dental chair. If you want
squeaky clean teeth, gums and breath, use the Spry s
(28:27):
p r Y Dental Defense. Spry is available at CBS
and write eight pharmacies, target vitamin chop sprouts and natural grocers.
For more information, go to their website Clear dot com.
That's x L e a r dot com. These are
the same people, the same company that makes Clear nasal sprays.
If you've got sinus issues or you don't want to
(28:49):
get the common cold or flus, it starts in the
nasal cavity, wash it out with Clear nasal sprays.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
X L E a r dot com.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
All right, now, let's get back to the conversation about
breakfast foods and foods in general reducing your risk of
brain problems. If you've talked about eggs, Eggs are rich
in brain healthy nutrients like coaline, which supports memory and learning.
In fact, a study in the Journal of Nutrition found
(29:20):
that older adults who consume more than one egg per
week had a swopping forty seven percent reduce risk of
dementia compared to those who had less than one egg
a week. So feed yourself eggs, Feed Gramma and grandpa eggs,
encourage them. Researchers at Rush University Memory and Aging Project
(29:44):
in Chicago noted.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
This was likely.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
This improvement in brain function was likely due to the colin,
which is a nutrient to be nutrient B vitamin nutrient
called B eight, which you may have never heard of
B eight in eggs. Let's move on to berries. Berries
like strawberries and blueberries and raspberries there and others are
well known for containing antioxidants, substances that protect the cells
(30:13):
that can be damaged by these toxic molecules called free radicals.
Left unchecked. These free radicals induce oxidative stress leading to
the inflammation I talked about earlier and the production of
these amyloid beta plaques that get into the brain that
cause the worst form of all brain problems, Alzheimer's. So
you want to make sure the berries are organic. Find
(30:35):
an organic store like natural grocers, and make it happen.
Put it in and integrate it into your diet. All right,
We're not done with this subject. Stick around saving your
brain and your memory. So it's not lights out for
you early right here on the Doctor Bob Martin's show,
We'll be right back.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
Are you ready to transform your health?
Speaker 2 (30:58):
Look no further than Complete Wall Wellness, a national best

Hi, welcome you back to the largest radio health talk
show in America bar none, and large part thanks to you.
We so appreciate you tuning into the program. If you
think other people in your life could benefit by tuning
into this radio show, let me tell you how to
refer them. How you can direct them to get to
this show. Pretty simple. The radio station you're listening to
(34:51):
right now, during commercial breaks and at the top of
the hour, usually at the bottom of the hour as well,
they give a station moniker, They give the call letters
of the radio station, so you should listen to that
and write that down. You should take note of the
frequency on the dial of the radio station you're listening to,
and the time of the day. And then when you
(35:12):
want somebody to tune into the program, because you believe
if they do, they're gonna listen and they may learn
something about their precious health. Put it into action, and
you'll be responsible for them getting better. Maybe you'll be
responsible for helping them to reduce their risk of dementia
Alzheimer's disease by giving them some hints on what to
eat because you've learned this, but guess what they can
(35:33):
learn it too. We have podcasts available of this show.
After the show airs, you can go over to the
website doctor Bob dot com spelling out the word doctor
docto r bob dot com and there is the podcast library,
or you can listen to past shows, or listen to
this show all over again, take notes if you didn't
(35:55):
the first time, and you can invite them to do
it as well if they miss the program, and perhaps
they'll be able to listen to the show each week.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
Beyond that.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
All right, now we're gonna get back to the topic.
You might be saying to yourself, what's yet, what's doctor Bob?
Why is he staying on this topic so much about
breakfast foods and memory and eating certain things to protect
our memory. Because it's so huge we eat every day,
we have to think every day. We might as well
do it in an optimal fashion. Right, I'm just reminding
(36:30):
you what the research says, not something I made up.
This is solid scientific information. For example, big study a
couple of years ago out of the University of Cincinnati
found that adults between the ages of fifty and sixty
five who ate.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
A cup of strawberries.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
Make sure you get organic strawberries because strawberries are one
of the most pesticide laden fruits. They're on the Dirty
dozen list. Do not eat conventional strawberries. You might as
well be just eating pesticides because it's full of pesticides.
There's at least twelve or thirteen in each strawberry in
a conventional store. But if you go into like natural
(37:07):
grocers where it's one hundred percent USDA certified organic, nothing,
no pesticides, you're going to not going to be consuming
any of that, or your family is not being fed
raid basically on your strawberries. But strawberries are important. Those
people who ate strawberries for twelve weeks performed better with
memory tests and had fewer symptoms of depression in those
(37:28):
who were in the placebo groups. So they tested it
and they know this is science. Those researchers are also
published a recent study in the journal Nutrients that found
that regular consumption of blueberries reduced signs of cognitive decline.
Make sure you get the yes, that's right, organic blueberries.
(37:51):
You're not getting any pesticides or fungicides. Berries are the
staple of the mind. Diet am I and D a
combination of the Mediterranean and DASH, which stands for dietary
approaches to stopping hypertension diets which prioritizes anti inflammatory foods.
(38:12):
There's the key, and we talked earlier also about dark chocolate.
Eating it in moderation dark chocolate has been shown to
lower your risk of dementia. Dark chocolate is rich in
things like flavonoids, compounds found in plant based foods that
have antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties, much like berries, and
(38:33):
these flabonoids also increase the blood flow to the brain,
preventing damage and improving overall functions. So good chocolate seventy
percent cacao or higher with low or no sugar is
the way to go. Now we can need to get
to the carbohydrates which have been demonized by the carnivores,
(38:54):
by the stuck on beef people, whole grains and nuts
like eggs, carbs, carbohydrates have long been considered a nutritional
boogeyman due to the risk of weight gain and high
blood sugar and diabetes.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
High glucose.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
Of course, blood sugar levels can damage your brain cells
and blood vessels in the brain, potentially leading to dunementia.
But whole grains I'm talking about one hundred percent, not
your you know, captain crunch, not your uh what is it,
cocoa puffs and all that junk food you see in
this in this cereal aisle in a conventional grocery store.
(39:34):
I'm talking about one hundred percent organic wheat, one hundred
percent amarant, one hundred percent steel oats, one hundred percent
seed like grains such as millet and keenewaw contain complex
carbohydrates which are easily to easy to digest. They slowly digest,
which means that they don't spike your blood sugar, and
(39:56):
they provide the body with a steady and regulated flow
of gluc so your brain operates on glucose. That's its
energy source. You have to have it, and you can
only get that through carbohydrates. Whole grains are also higher
in fiber, which ferments in the gut to form what
are called short chain fatty acids, which regulate inflammation in
(40:16):
the brain. So you gotta have complex carbohydrates if you
expect to be healthy.
Speaker 3 (40:22):
That is key.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
But it's not me saying that it's the mind diet,
the Mediterranean dash and intervention, neuro degenerative delay diet.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
So there you have it, folks, and include that if
you want.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
On top of these dietary changes, things like vinpositin, superzene a, genkoboloba,
gen cing, vitamin e, vitamin e, coline. These are all
supplements that help the brain as well. Do the word games.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
And walk backwards. You're tuned into the doctor Bob martinshell.
Speaker 4 (40:54):

All right, we're in the final stretch of this hour
of the Doctor Bob Martin Show. But don't go anywhere,
because I'm going to be talking about something which might
sound controversial, but it's true breaking news. Medical drugs taken
by fifty percent of Americans raise the risk of cancer
years after you stop taking the drugs. Wait until you
(43:31):
hear about this. Don't go anywhere all right now, if
you're just tuning into the program, we've been talking about
changing up your dietary style popular breakfast foods that protect
your brain from memory loss. We're talking about protecting it
from Alzheimer's disease and all the eight other forms of dementia.
If you miss that, you can get into the podcast
library and hear it again over at doctor Bob dot
(43:54):
com spelling out the word doctor doctor Bob dot com.
All right, let's see if we can get a phone
call and before the end of the hour. Here is
Fred Robertson from Talent Oregon.
Speaker 9 (44:06):
Fred from Talent Oregon, and I've been diagnosed with interstitular
lung disease, and I've had a cough for a couple
of years and tiredness, breathing problems when I'm exercising or
(44:28):
working or trying to work in a guy cough for

natural way to feel that.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
Yes, that's a chronic lung condition which is very, very challenging.
Hello Fred, thank you for your call. Sorry to learn
that you're struggling with this and have been struggling with
it for a year. With lung challenges like this, if
you haven't done so already, please get a second or
third opinion by a a specialist in lung health, maybe

a pulmonologist, that would be a good idea. And when
you're in the doctor's office with this problem, let them
know what you've been through course Alaska history, and then
ask them if they believe that you could benefit by
getting what is called hyperbaric oxygen therapy HBOT hyper baric
(45:28):
oxygen therapy, which is where you sit in a chamber
that helps to infuse greater levels of oxygen into your body.
Then you can breathe in orally, which is absolutely a
miracle therapy for many lung conditions and also brain injuries
have used it and recommended over the years for brain injury,
(45:49):
people who have strokes and cerebral palsy, and people who
have burns, and people who have lung problems in general,
hyperbaric oxygen therapy. There's also a herbal formula you should
look into call pleurisy. That's what it's called pleurisy, which
is a condition of itself, but it just covers the
herb pleurisy, and you can get it from a company
(46:12):
called Hawaii Farm. Hawaii Farm can sell you this herbal
formula that should help your lungs called Pleurisy by Hawaii Farm.
