Independent thoughts, independent life. Thisis Chad Benson, inflation, border issues,
unrest around the globe. What areour politicians doing about it? Nothing?
They're fighting like children. And Ibring this up today to show you

(00:36):
what politics is devolved into. It'shigh school celebrities. That's what they care
about. So there's an oversight hearingyesterday about Merrick Garlan and it doesn't matter
what it's about. What happens iseverything. You need to know. MTG's

(00:56):
involved. You should know that AOCis involved. You should know that high
schools involved. You should know that'sexpired. As any other members seek recognition,
Miss Cherry recognizes Miss Green. I'dlike to know if any of the
Democrats on this committee are employing Judgemer Shawn's daughter. Please tell me what
it has to do with Mary Garland. Oh Goldman, that's right, he's

(01:19):
advising. Do you know what we'rehere for? You know we're here,
Chris, you know what you're herefor. Well, you don't want to
talking about I think your fake eyelashesare messing up on nothing order again,
we've gone to fake eyelashes. MTGloves to make everything about herself. You

(01:42):
know I was I was talking acouple of people the other day about you
know that, about people like herand AOC celebrities. I said, go
look at their Twitter, following theirInstagram, all of the stuff. Understand
that they represent a handful of peoplein their districts, but they are much
bigger on the national stage because itmatters to them about being celebrities. So

(02:06):
we're just getting started here. It'sabout ready to really get gone. It's
a gadfight. You committee order.I do have a point of order,
and I would like to move toto take down Miss Green's words. That
is absolutely unacceptable. How dare you? I means her words down? Oh

(02:30):
girl, baby girl? Oh really, don't even play, baby girl.
We are gonna move and we're gonnatake your words down. The second a
motion inflation. Uh, battlefields aroundthe globe, unsettled, people looking to

(02:52):
us to be the leader? Arepeople to be the leaders? A border
that is porous and oh, babygirl, you did, oh I did.
I'm gonna do it again. MissGreen agrees to strocker words. I
believe. Hold on. Then aftermister Perry's will be recognized. I'm not
apologized. I am not apologizing.Let's come come on, guys, why

(03:17):
don't you debate me? You're notyou're not. You don't have enough lady's
words together. It is a blankshow. It's the best way to describe
it. And I know I'm gonnahear from some of you MTG fans and

(03:40):
some haters out there. This ishigh school. This is but more than
that. It is it is areality show version of what politics has become.
Which is it is about me,It is about how I look doing
things? Is it is about canI get my eight people who love me,

(04:03):
who want to take selfies with meand want me to sign things?
Very can I get them to loveme anymore? Well? Chad, what
was this about? Again? Itdoesn't matter at this point in time.
Nobody cares what this is about becauseit's a dumpster fire. Do procket?

(04:23):
You're not recognizing you with one momdown? No, you please call down
me to calm down down. How'sy'all talk? Come down? And then
you're out of control? It okay? Yeah? Order care now recognizes Miss
Green for for four minutes and twentyone seconds. Let miss Green talk and
then you all can I move tostrike her words for a second time based

(04:44):
on her second set of personal remarksattacking another member. AOC's there given as
good as she gets. You betterwatch out, baby girl. I remove
to move, to remove, move, move those things that you said high
school. It's about the thing I'vesaid for years. It's about being a

(05:06):
celebrity, a politician who's a celebrity. I'm recognized. I'm gonna go ahead
and talking. Look, I know, I know. Look, I don't
know if you've noticed that I havetwo here at as very daff I'm not
understanding everybody's yelling. I'm doing thebest I can. Can we not recognize
miss Green and let cannot because ofthe rules of the committee. That is

(05:27):
what I'm trying to communicate in thepresent moment. I'm so frustrated, but
Alas, this is what we havenow, this is what we've gotten ourselves
into. And I blame social mediaon a lot of this. You go

(05:47):
back twenty years, twenty five years, twenty four hour news cycle and has
also played a huge part in itand cable news. But so much of
this reality television and the TikTok worldand Insta and all that stuff. I
I it's it's ridiculous. When Iwas a kid growing up, Mike I

(06:10):
knew who Most people don't even knowwho your representative is. How many of
you do Some of you, avast majority of you listening may recognize,
oh, this is my congress personfrom this state to that, But many
of you listening probably know the mostfamous congress people out there, the pelosis
of the world, and you havea disdain for it. She doesn't represent
you, the AOC's of the world. You can't stand her. She doesn't

(06:32):
represent you. MTG, you can'tstandard your lover. Her doesn't matter.
She doesn't represent you. And aslong as we continue to talk about it,
given this and part of it isus because it's you know, it's
a dumpster fire we were gonna watch, I'm not gonna talk about it.
They're gonna continue to do what theydo, and that is a frustrating three

(06:54):
two, three, five, three, eight, twenty four to twenty three
at she hadbentson shows, your Twittertweet at as text to program Meanwhile,
now there's a trial in New YorkCity. Two weeks before the twenty sixteen
election, Michael Cohen said he calledDonald Trump's bodyguard Keith Schiller to get Trump
on the phone. Cohen testified hewanted to discuss the Stormy Daniels matter and
the resolution of it. Defense attorneyTodd Blanche, his voice rising, said

(07:15):
that was a lie. You didnot talk to President Trump that night.
Blanche said, animated, you couldadmit it. Blanche punctuated each word that
was a lie. That was thebig thing. That contention, the anger,
the fighting going on in the crossexamination of Cohen, most contentious day
so far. It was the mostheated moment in the cross examination that we

(07:39):
have seen and by far the mostsubstantive, where Todd was essentially yelling at
Michael Cohen to say you lied aboutthe conversation with Donald Trump. He pushed
him to admit it, to saythat he was lying, but Michael Cohen
again stayed quite firm, saying,I can't admit it. I did talk
to Donald Trump, staying calm throughoutthe exchange. Yet there was a bunch
of text messages that kind of contradictthat what does it all mean? It

(08:01):
means that it's a stupid we shouldn'tbe here. A lot of people thought
the defense was going to go,you know, we're not gonna call any
witnesses. You guys have failed tomake your case. Your case is he's
guilty of all of these things, which leads this thing to a felony.
But to get to a felony, you have to prove that there was going

(08:22):
to be another crime committed, ofwhich you could not prove. NDA's hush
money, none of it is illegal. You've proven none of your case.
We rest our case, and that'sthe way it. A lot of people
thought they were going to go,but instead they said, hey, let's
go after Cohen and his credibility, which isn't hard. The defense had tried
to lave the groundwork to portray Cohenas a liar and pointed out inconsistencies in

(08:48):
statements he made about a whole lotof things, like whether he sought a
cooperation deal with prosecutors, whether hesought a pardon, whether he really wanted
a job as White House chief ofstaff, all to suggest that you can't
trust anything. Michael Cohen says,I think most people understand that, and
remember what the judge will say.If you don't believe what he's saying here,
you don't have to believe anything hesaid throughout the trial. So good

(09:11):
times three, two, three, five, three, eight, twenty four
to twenty three at you ad VitzShow. It's your Twitter. A lot
of stuff to get to Harrison, but Kerk still in trouble, but he's

if you've ever heard it, butyou can hear it now because we like

(10:35):

week, and some that may bea missed and some that you're like,
oh my god, what the hellis that all about? And we do
it with the great musical accompaniment ofGeorge Jones. It's Finally Friday. Donald
Trump loss two debates to me intwenty twenty sounds like the hadn't shown up

(10:58):
for debate. Now he's what youwanted to bate me again? Has it
in? Biden set a trap forDonald Trump and Donald Trump fell right into
it. I myself would never recommendgoing on the stage with Donald Trump.
I'm not a hundred dollars walking inmy hole. I know. I'll say
the burner's burning right through my bargetingand do my scam. Come on the

(11:22):
morning, I'll be bron It's fine. Fin, I'm done, my motor
run again. It's fine. That'swhy you like Trump because you benefit under

(11:46):
him. Call the other people. He's over three ways to Sunday. But
I would have ventured to guess thatthe majority of you are most excited about
your marriage and the children you willbring into this world. It's fine,
fire, Wait, it's fine.I don't understand why people are not taking

(12:13):
him seriously. He's not going tonot stop being present. You understand this,
pen your professor, and they aredestroying the campus and undoing a democratic,
peaceful protest way unity. So,as a Marxist feminist, I do

(12:46):
gender abolition as the removal of thesystems and institutions that enforce gender. You
don't need to fully understand the nuancesof gender identity or sexuality to know that
each person knows who they are betterthan you ever will that sometimes people will
open the door for you and leaveit open. Sometimes they moved and then
you need to kick that door down. The best in show winner at the
one and forty eighth annual Westminster KettleClub Dog Show is the Miniature Poodle.

(13:11):
I am a patriot. I ama strong and intelligent woman of color.
I wonder whether or not he showsup, because you know, he also
challenges me to golf, so I'ma very good golfer. He can't hit
a ball fifty yards. I loveyou, Okay, I will make my
day pal. I'll even do ittwice. Let's pick the dates. Donald,
I hear you're free on Wednesdays.Yeah, there you go. He

(13:35):
is free on Wednesdays and the restof the time because of well, people
who are in it for themselves politicallyout to get an opponent and using the
law to do so, and democrats. I want you to hear this.
I want you to hear this.If you don't think this is going to
happen to you, and that's unfortunate, you're fooling yourself. You were fooling

(14:01):
yourself. There was so much crazinessthis week. We knew to sound solid
later on in the show. That'swhere you throw a lot of stuff together
that maybe we didn't get to somestuff. Maybe you missed. It was
a crazy You listen to this andyou're like, that happened in a week.
Yeah, and there was so muchstuff I couldn't get in. I
could have done this all day. That's how crazy it is. Speaking of
crazy. No boots on the ground, but boots on a pier. Aid

(14:26):
going to Palestine via the peer. It's finally being finished. And the big
fear and worry is what if weget our soldiers killed? And remember this
is the crazy thing Hamas, whohas lied about a lot of things.
I was watching a maybe I'll findit here in a little bit a somebody

(14:48):
in Parliament that's Britain for those youknow, give me school talking about the
lies that they have told Hamas andhow the media absolutely bought into it.
Thirty thousand people dead, Well,he broke down what it really looks like
and he's like, those numbers areminuscule in a situation like this. Now.

(15:09):
The big issue obviously right now isfamine and the aid getting there is
important. But it shows you againthat Israel and America and the people who
are on the side of not Hamas, has to feed the people that Hamas
is supposed to ly fighting with becauseHamas won't do it. The amount of

(15:30):
aid that has been reaching Gaza hasdropped sharply, particularly from the south where
the Israeli Defense Forces have launched anoperation in Rafa that left the Rafa crossing
shut down and only a trickle ofaid is coming in from the Karam Shalom
crossing also in the south. Sothat speaks to how significant this will be.
But according to aid groups, itwill still not be nearly enough to

(15:52):
address the need. But it isa step. Here's the you know,
and I want you guys to understandthis. This is the need. There
is a need, but getting itto the people is the most important thing
because other parts of the country they'reoverrun with aid. But once again,

(16:15):
getting it to the people. Andthe big issue about this peer is they've
already come under attack. And thenightmare that this scenario could pose for this
president but also for our soldiers isthis they're going to come under attack again.
Do you think the IDF in Israelis doing it? No, it
is Iran's proxies. It is amoss. The last thing they want is

(16:37):
people getting aid. And it lookinglike things are going okay for them because
it weakens some moss, so therewill be more attacks, and God willing,
none of our soldiers get killed, because if our soldiers get killed,
what's this president do out of curiosity? What do you think he does?
It's going to answer questions about moredead soldiers in a conflict we're not in,

(17:00):
but we're helping. That is anightmare scenario for everybody. Three two,
three, five, three eight, twenty four, twenty three at Chad
Benson Show. Is your Twitter tweetat us text the program. More fallout
from Harrison Butker, but he's gota supporter in a very surprising place.

(17:21):
Yeah, we're gonna talk a bitabout that. A lot of good stuff
to get to today. Samuel Alitoand the upside down flag? What does
that mean? Oh my god.It is the Chad Benson Show, The
Chad Benson Show, Independent thoughts, independent life. This is what do we

(18:00):
do. I'm saying that right now, Right now, he's going to jail.
Okay, He's going to jail, and it ain't nothing you can do
about it. Period. There's nothingyou can do about Okay. Okay,
now you do you first on themedia. I'm a reporter, okay,

(18:21):
So that's all this. I justwant to make sure that's okay, but
you need to stand up back fromhere. You got it? Okay?
Okay? What is that that rightthere? Happened a little while ago.
That is Jeff Darlington. He's areporter ESPN at the PGA Tour event,
which is the PGA Championship, whichis the second major. Scotti Sheffler,

(18:45):
the best golfer in the world, was arrested today. What did he do
well? Something that was He didn'tdo anything crazy. It wasn't trunk driving,
wasn't any of those things. Therewas a pedestrian that was hit early
this morning in from one of theshuttle buses going back and forth from Valhalla
Golf Club. The pedestrian died.Scotti showing up for his thing, didn't

(19:11):
know what was going on, wastrying to get into Valhalla and well it
went sideways from there because they didn'tknow who he was. Entering Bajalla Golf
Club. This morning, we witnesseda car pull around us. That was
Scotti Scheffler was in the car.To be very clear about the details here,
Scotti Scheffler has been detained by policeofficers placed in the back of a

(19:33):
police vehicle in handcuffs after he triedto pull around what he believed to be
security, ended up being police officers. They told him to stop. When
he didn't stop, the police officerattached himself to the vehicle. Scheffer then
traveled another ten yards before stopping thecar. The police officer then grabbed at

(19:56):
his arm, attempting to pull himout of the car before Scheffler eventually opened
the door, at which point thepolice officer pulled Scheffler out of the car,
push him up against the car,and immediately placed him in handcuffs.
Oeh, my lord. So he'sthe best golfer in the world. He

(20:17):
is, and this is a bigstory because it's you know, I mean,
he's not Tiger Woods yet, buthe's on his way to something great.
And he's also the most boring personas many people talk about. Just
had his first kid. He's wonfour of the last five tournaments. He's
just kind of a guy that goesabout his business, very religious, and

(20:38):
it seems to be you know,if you're famous, and if you've ever
been to any of these things, you know, whether it's what other sporting
event, there's police and people aroundsecurity. I don't think he thought,
oh, well, I just youknow, I'm gonna go past these guys,
get omet carey. He probably thoughtthey're exactly what they are there security

(21:00):
eire here for us, not knowingwhat took place till afterwards, and then
a cop attaches yourself to it andoh. Scheffler was then walked over to
the police car, placed in theback in handcuffs, very stunned about what
was happening, looked toward me ashe was in those handcuffs and said,

(21:22):
please help me. He very clearlydid not know what was happening in this
situation. It moved very quickly, very rapidly, very aggressively. He has.
He was detained in that police vehiclefor approximately twenty minutes. The police
officers at that point did not understandthat Scotti Scheffler was a golfer in the

(21:45):
tournament, nor of course, thathe has a number one player in the
world. Yeah, well, whetheryou're number one or not didn't matter.
But being you know, you justthink that somebody's trying to pass you and
we're going to stop that you can'tcome here, not that you actually are
involved in the event. So ScottieScheffler detained the World's Most Boring Prisoner three

(22:06):
two, three, five, three, eight, twenty four to twenty three
at Chad Benson Show, is YourTwitter? Keeping with the theme of religious
sports figures, Oh, Harrison Butker, what are they going to do with
you? Because you spoke your mindout about the fact that you love God,
that you think there are some thingsin this world that are going on
that you don't believe in according toyour faith, and you're a bad person

(22:30):
because of that. And the controversyis huge. Kansas City chiefs kicker Harrison
Butker and his controversial comments about womenand the LGBTQ community. Not the deadly
sin sort of pride that has anentire month dedicated to it, but the
true God centered pride. The advocacygroup GLAD outraged. I couldn't believe it
was such an outdated, a equatedview on LGBTQ people and women. The

(22:55):
NFL, stating Harrison Butker gave aspeech in his personal capacity. His views
are those of the NFL as anorganization. And yeah, he's allowed to
have views, isn't he. Somepeople want him gone because you had views
that are against the prevailing progressive ideas. You believe marriage between a man and

(23:15):
a woman. That Pride Month ispushed on kids, and we can talk
about all that stuff, he said, and that being a mother and is
more important, and being a wifeis more important than being a CEO of
a company, et cetera, etcetera. I bet if you had asked
him, is being a father anda husband more important of being an NFL
player, he would say hell, yes, you can't do that. You

(23:37):
know that, And people want havegone. There is a change dot org
petition demanding the Chiefs release Butker. So far no comment from the team,
and despite the headlines surrounding this speech, Butker did receive a standing ovation.
Oh my lord, he did.So are those people also bad? Yes,
So if you clap for something,if you like something on the internet,

(24:00):
whatever it is, you're also partof the problem. We demand that
you fire him. Shut up.He does have somebody who is supporting him
in a surprise place, one ofthe hyaenas the head Hyaena, if you
will will be Golbert from the view. The NFL released a statement that he
gave this speech in his personal capacityand they do not The NFL does not

(24:23):
share his views. So listen,I like when people say what they need
to say. He's at a Catholiccollege, He's a staunch Catholic. These
are his beliefs, and he's welcometo him. I don't have to believe
him. I don't have to acceptthem. The ladies that were sitting in
that audience do not have to acceptthem. The same way, we want

(24:45):
respect when Colin Kaepernack takes a knee. We want to give respect to people
whose ideas are different from ours.I agree one hundred percent. I was
never. Look, I was never. I'm not a fan of Colin Kaepernick,
mostly because he made himself a martyras if nobody would touch him.

(25:08):
Because of this, that and theother, nobody could ever have a conversation
around, you know, Colin Kaepernick, because he also changes views on certain
things. But as far as thetaking the knee, I never had a
problem with it. I mean,I may not have liked it, but
the beauty of our country is that'swhat we're all about. It's the same
thing here and the blowback for peopletaking and it's it's risky in the today's

(25:33):
world if you're going to take apolitical stand, unless that's what you do
your political it is a risky thing, for sure, one hundred percent.
One more from whoopee. We wantto give respect to people whose ideas are
different from ours. Because the manwho says he wants to be president,
you know who, Yeah, hesays the way to act is to take

(25:55):
away people's right to say how theyfeel. We don't want to be that.
We don't want to be those people. So I'm okay with him say
whatever he says. And the womenwho are sitting there, if they take
his advice, good for them, they'll be happy. If they don't,
good for them, they'll be happyin a different way. Well, you
don't know if they'll be happy.That's that's you're throwing it out there,
is if they're going to be superhappy. You have no idea. They

(26:17):
could be miserable. They could takehis advice and be miserable. They could
not take advice and be miserable. And I don't know, like, how
how is it that Harrison Butker comesout, gives a speech at a small
Catholic school, gets a new standingovation controversial, and then it's like,
you know whose fault this is DonaldTrump because he wants to be president and
this, and you're like, whatare you? How did you even get
here? I'm surprised they haven't.I'm sure they'll come out today. You

(26:38):
know, Scottie Jeffler was detained becausethe person was killed in a crosswalk in
front of the PGA Championship and Scotthe didn't do it. A bus did.
It had nothing to do with him, but Donald Trump three two,

If Imaginary Friends Get It is expectedto dominate the box office this weekend.
The film, a mix of liveaction and animation, stars Ryan Reynolds,
Written and directed by John Krasinski. It's expected to earn a healthy thirty five

it's a made for TV movie. If looks awesome. Kids want to go

(29:00):
see that this weekend, So Charliein particular, because she's five and it
looks like a movie that would befunny for us and a five year old,
Oh, I could see that. The age old question. Kids,
We're gonna answer it right now.Is it taco a sandwich? Or is
it not? And the reason isthere's a debate in a town in Indiana

(29:23):
over whether or not you can openthis taco shop because you see, they
don't want fast food restaurants, inparticular massive chains in their neighborhood. But
this chain's like, hey, lookto may doorder. Sandwich is not like
fast food. And we've heard thedebate about whether a hot dog is a
sandwich, but is taco a sandwich? According to an Indiana judge, the

(29:47):
answers yes, slippery slope right, and they ruling on Monday by a Superior
court judge in Indiana states tacos andburritos are Mexican style sandwiches. The case
went to court after a county commissionstopped the famous taco restaurant from opening in
a strip mall. The neighborhood associationand the strip mall had an agreement limiting
restaurants selling only made to order sandwiches. It's a way to keep national fast

(30:10):
food chains out. The restaurant ownerargued tacos are Mexican style sandwiches, and
the judge agreed. The judge didagree, good for them, they can
open up there at Taco Place.I have not had Mexican food in Indiana.
Been to Indiana. It's beautiful.Indianapolis love it been throughout the Midwest

(30:32):
beautiful. God's people love it there. I will tell you this. Last
time I was there, when wewent out had Mexican food. I think
it was in Cleveland, and they'relike, we're gonna get Mexican food and
I said, I really don't thinkwe should. They're like, no,
we are, It's going to begreat. I'm like, the guys,

(30:52):
I'm telling you, I grew up. My grandfather is from Mexico, right,
I grew up in southern California.I live on the border. Please
don't and they're like, you're gonnalove this. It was awful. It
was just now, I don't knowhow good this taco shop is or isn't.
I'm just letting you know, no, let's let's go somewhere else.

(31:18):
They made it up to me becausewe were in the part of the country
throughout Indiana and stuff, and youknow, in in Ohio where we could
go to some of these amazing placesto get amish, like custom custard and
stuff like that was great. Butdon't you know, I think the salsa
was like ketchup, like this isthis is no no. And my buddy

(31:41):
who's from Michigan, he eats hisburrito with ketchup, and I'm like,
that is a sin. Just letyou know that. But maybe it is
a sandwich at that point in timethree two, three, five, three,
eight, twenty four to twenty threeat Chad Benson Show, is your
Twitter tweeted a text to program. There's controversy is in the world of Scotus.
I know shaker right, Samuel Ledo. And this has to do with

(32:06):
an American flag that was hung upsidedown after the election twenty twenty, and
apparently they're saying, ah, thisis what the uh the Trump folk do
to protest set election. It wasan upside down American flag, a very
controversial symbol really at any time, but at this particular point it was being

(32:30):
used as a symbol of the stopthe Steel campaign to overturn the election.
Why is it coming out now becauseit was twenty twenty, didn't do it
last week? The question of whetheror not one or more of these justices,
sir, biased is a huge one. Yeah, well, aren't they

(32:52):
all biased? Isn't that the way? Because if they weren't biased, and
they were just they weren't the progressivewinging of the court or the conservative wing,
if they weren't biased in the beliefsthat they have and how they interpret
the wall, then we wouldn't havethe fights that we have when it comes

(33:12):
to confirming them. Oh yeah, that's that's interesting. Again. Why is
it coming out now? Because there'slots of big cases that are in front
of them right now. That concernDonald Trump in the worry is that they're
going to side up and just becausehe's Donald Trump, they're going to pass
them through. And that right there, I think is a bunch of crap.
What he says is that essentially itwas his wife's fault. He said

(33:37):
that she put it up briefly andthat it was in response to a neighborhood
clash over political science. There's aneighborhood clash. What kind of neighborhood you
live in? Handled the old fashionedway drive vice. Yeah. No,
it's not just that you're not supposedto do things that would reflect actual bias.

(33:57):
You're also not supposed to do anythingthat would give up the people the
impression that you're biased. It's toolate. If you are liberal, a
Democrat, you already look at thecourt and you think it's evil and mean
and bad because it leans conservative inyour mind. If you're conservative, for
the last fifty years it's been aliberal court, you look and say,

(34:22):
there are progressives and Democrats who areall by and let's not forget. And
this is something needs to be broughtup more and more. When we talk
about Scotus in particular, a vastmajority of the cases that Scotus hears,
and I do mean a vast majorityeight one, seven to two, lots

(34:46):
of nine o's. It is onlythe emotional ones that people lose their mind
about. Want our mind everybody thatone of the bedrock rules of being a
federal judge is the you're not supposedto take part in politics. You're not
supposed to display signs and symbols, you're not supposed to really do anything that

(35:07):
could cause people to think that you'reless than impartial in a case. There
you go, but we already knowthat that's no longer the case. I
mean, we're joking about lawfare throughoutthe shows over the last several months on
what's going on with the likes ofDonald Trump and these hearings, but these
you know, these if the frustrationis is you already know that they have

(35:30):
their own beliefs because they're human beings, and also because no, this judge
is conservative. There's a reason thatpeople judge shop when it comes to trials,
especially when it comes to things likeimmigration, abortion. They judge shop.
What federal court can I go towhere I know they're going to be
sympathetic to me. It's not thatthey it is it's the frustrating side of
things. That's where we are.If you're looking for people who are unbiased,

(35:52):
don't look at people because the interpretationof law. And that's what this
is about, is we're looking asan originalist comparatively to how the progressive side
sees it, which is the Constitutionis an ever growing, breathing thing.
Three two, three, five three, twenty four to twenty three. At
Chad Benson Shows your Twitter jamis CityShow. Make sure you grabbed the podcast.

(36:13):
It's the Chad Benson Show. Thisis the Chad Benson Show, Independent

(36:42):
Thoughts, Independent Life, this isChad Benson. If you're just shoining the
program shape, you should have beenhere all along. I just saw the
picture of Scotty Scheffler, the world'snumber one golfer, in an orange jumpsuit.
It is weird if you don't knowanything about Scotty Scheffler. He is
uber, boring, very religious, speaks about his faith all the time.

(37:07):
He was arrested this morning truck driving. He hit somebody. He beat no
they they say it's assaulting an officer. He was trying to get into the
golf place because the PGA Championship goingon. It's a second major. And
there was a pedestrian that was killedthis morning because a bus. The person

(37:30):
was walking in the bus lane andhe thought it was security. He was
trying to get around to get intothe place. They tried to stop him.
He didn't know what was going on, and it just but to see
this guy in an orange jumpsuit iscrazy, just looks weird. Indeed,
speaking of weird politics is an oddplace because it's more like high school.

(37:50):
Case in point, this insanitys expired? Does any other members seek recognition?
Miss Terry recognizes Miss Green. I'dlike to know if any of the Democrats
on this committee are employing Judge Mershawn'sdaughter. Please tell me what it has
to do with Mary Garland. OhGoldman, that's right, he's advising.
Do you know what we're here for? You know we're here. Christ you

(38:13):
know what you're here for. Well, you don't want to talking about I
think your fake eyelashes are messing upon nothing order. Who do you think
was involved in this? You said, Marjorie Taylor Green. That was Crockett
who she was talking to. Butsomebody else has to get involved, another
congress person. Why were they fighting? Uh? Well, if you it

(38:35):
was about a hearing about Merrick Garland, you know it was. It was
an oversight thing. Whether they're goingto hold him in contempt. Nobody cares
anymore because, like everything else, whatever was taking place that may or may
not have been important, it palesin comparisons to whether or not you can
well get noticed. Continue that's beneathor of your committee order. I do

(38:59):
have a point of order. Iwould like to move to to take down
miss Green's words. That is absolutelyunacceptable. How dare you, I mean
her words down? Oh girl, baby girl? Oh really, don't even
play baby girl. We are gonnamove and we're gonna take your words down.

(39:20):
My second a motion Marjora Tayler Greenjoined by AOC in the argument,
everybody's talking about it. What aboutinflation? People are talking about inflat Nope,
nope. Although they're supposed to behandling business, they're not well the
business of them. And this issomething I want to point out to you
guys. Understand the politicians now,in particular the p celebrities we talk about,

(39:45):
they're a brand. This is mybrand. My brand is I must
I'm a fire brand, I'm controversial, I'm in your face, I'm loud.
What That's a brand? And theywant to make sure their brand gets
recognized all the time. Continue allthe fights just getting going. Miss Green
agrees to strocker words. I believe. Hold on. Then after mister Perry's

(40:10):
will be recognized. I'm not apologized. I am not apologizing. Well let's
come come on, guys, whydon't you debate me. You're not,
Yeah, you're not. You don'thave enough Okay, every lady's words again,

(40:32):
it's embarrassing. We're not yet tothe fist fight like you always see
that, right, like Peru orEcuador, some some eastern European country where
they start throwing blows. But Ifeel like we're getting there. I feel
like we're getting close. I mean, if they would add food, they'd

(40:52):
have thrown it at each other. It's a cat fight. Continue, you're
not recognized, Miss Crok. Hearyou with one mom down, no,
please call, tell me to calmdown? Down, how's y'all talk?
Come down? And then you wereout of control it sure? Okay,
yeah, order chare now recognizes MissGreen for four minutes and twenty one seconds.

(41:14):
Let Miss Green talk and then youall can. I moved to strike
her words for a second time basedon her second set of personal remarks attacking
another member just hilarity. Should wedo one more let's do one more.
It's doing more this time. It'sabout hearing aids. I'm recognized. I'm
gonna go ahead and talking. Look, I know, I know. Look,

(41:34):
I don't know if you noticed it. I have two here and ads
very daft. I'm not understanding everybody'syelling. I'm doing the best I can.
Can we not recognize miss Green andlets you cannot because of the rules
of the committee. That is whatI'm trying to communicate in the present moment.
Do you think they were just like, why are we here again?
Because the thing I like? Sodo you see the fighting and the arguing.
What I like are the people whoare not involved, on both sides

(41:58):
of the aisle that are like, are you yes? What is this about?
How? What the hell is goingon? I don't even know why
we're here at this point in time. We have turned our politics into reality
TV. And you can go andblame Trump all you want, you can't.

(42:20):
Does he have a part to playin it? I think everybody does,
including ourselves. We can't even watchregular TV anymore. What about reality
shows? They're not reality shows becausenobody wants to watch reality. Reality is
boring. Reality is a lot ofthings that nobody That's why sports is always
entertaining, because it is reality andthe theatrics are real. It's improv if

(42:44):
you will. Reality television is abunch of people where they put into you
know, it's like, okay, this is reality TV. We're gonna take
these people. We're gonna shoot himout of a cannon wearing maga hats into
a crowd and see if there's afight, because that's what normally happened.
No, sorry, sorry, itjust ridiculous. Indeed, inflation nation,

(43:06):
many people, including the President, have blamed corporate greed for the nation's inflation
struggles. All we've done to bringprices down, there are still too many
corporations in America ripping people off.The President's critics cite a surge and government
spending for contributing to the problem. The new research from the Federal Reserve of
San Francisco claims the current inflation strugglecan largely be traced back to higher production

(43:28):
costs and supply chain disruptions during thepandemic. Yeah, but also printing money
telling people they've got to stay home, Printing gobs and gobs of money,
handing it out to people. Sothey've bored with money to spend cash,
burning holes in their pockets and thereisn't enough supply. That's what happens.

(43:51):
So we've explained that to you guyson numerous occasions. But understand this.
Print money is the issue when itcomes to inflation, and we printed so
much damn money. Who went tothe well Kevin O'Leary from Shark Tank said
it the other day. We sayshark Tank. The reality is he's a
big investor, does a lot ofthings. Shark Tank's just is where he

(44:12):
got his fame from. But whenit comes to inflation, there's one place
that creates inflation. That's government. Why because they can print money and that's
what they've done. Lo and beholdthey have printed money, and too much
of it. Speaking of the pandemic, there is a move to pause gain

(44:35):
of function, research and funding ofit, which is good. The NIH
has basically been told, look, first of all, we don't think we
should even be doing this. Secondly, we need to pause giving money to
anybody like EcoHealth Alliance with Peter Dazakand all these people, because we don't

(44:59):
think this is a good thing.Now it's just a pause. I think
we should go further than that. But I yesterday I was on a podcast
with j I'm Garrity from Nashal Review, and we were talking about this and
the frustration that people have, andI want you guys to think about four
years ago, the nightmare was reallyjust getting going for some of you.
The nightmare went on way longer thanother places. But if you honestly think

(45:24):
about it, nobody's been held accountable. You could even bring up whether or
not you know that we were involvedin funding some of this stuff and this
gain of function stuff when it cameto what was going on in Wuhan and
this thing escaping the lab where it'snever, by the way, still never
been found outside the lab, neverbeen found, never been found in nature.

(45:49):
But we were a part of thatnightmare. And the fact that we're
pausing any kind of money going tothese places is great. I think we
should really start thinking about do wenever do this because is quote unquote the
cure that we may come up withworse than disease, especially when you're dealing
with human beings who quite frankly, you know Barney Fife Garden, the lab

(46:12):

show. You're listening to the ChadBenson Show. Roll another blunt. I

(48:02):
was gonna clean my room until Igot home. I was gonna get up
and find the broom. But thenI got had I still missed them,
and I know why why? Man? Today, my administration took a major

(48:27):
step to reclassify marijuana from a Scheduleone drug to Schedule three drug. It's
an important move toward reversing the longstanding inequities. There you go moving the
marriage ijuana, which is it shouldnever have been a Schedule three drunk.
It is not heroin or fentanylor. In fact, some of those drugs dructs
are scheduled too. This now, with this move, there's a lot of

(48:51):
reasons for this move, and thereason it takes so long is because government
doesn't know how to say sorry.Because many lives have been ruined because somebody
had a small amount of weed orwere dealing a small amount of weed.
So but things have changed, andnow the attitudes across the board have changed.

(49:12):
And I if you guys listen tothe show, you know, I'm
a tea toddler, as they wouldsay, Oh you're a tea toadler.
Never had a drink of my life, never done a drug in my life,
but I grew up in and aroundit. Like you cannot believe.
My father died of a heart attackbrought on by the fact that he had
had so much drugs in his life. And when he died, you know,

(49:34):
I mean, we know what happened. I've just that was never my
thing. But I know this growingup when he was on weed rather than
drinking and doing other things. Nowthis weed is a different weed we have
now, let's be real. Butacross the country we see the facts that
many states have just kind of saidit it's for medical use, it's for

(49:57):
this. I mean everybody was rememberwhen with the medical thing, everybody had
to go get their card and youcould go to a doctor right there,
right it was like it was acannabis dispensary and doctor's office. You're like,
you had a headache, Yeah, last year I had one. Well
you probably need some weed. Sothey're going to fix this issue, which
I have no problem with. Myproblem, like anything else, is it's

(50:22):
when we regulate less, we alsoleave it up to human beings to patrol
themselves, which is a problem.Indeed, today's announcement bill's on the work
we've already done to part in arecord number of federal offenses for simple possession
of marijuana and as of the actuallywe've taken the lift parriage to housing,

(50:42):
employment, small business loans, andso much more for tens of thousands of
Americans. Yeah and yeah, haveyou've seen that people can't pass drug test
because even if it's in a statewhere it's legal, a lot of places
they still make you go do it, and marijuana will stay in your system
for a long time. So peopleare doing crazy things to try to pass

(51:04):
this, and the more sophistic theyca did they get, the better the
you know, for the masking ofthe drugs, the better the tests are
getting to catch it. Especially whenyou're looking for masking people are using other
people's urine. I was like,oh my god, but if you had
a drink last night, it's notgoing to show up in your system unless

(51:24):
you were hammered all the way throughthe night and you're still drunk in the
morning because you're still drinking. Butif you smoke weed two weeks ago might
show up in your system and there'san issue there. It should never have
been a Schedule three drug. Butthat was politics, and so saying sorry
is always a tough thing when itcomes to these here United States of America,
in particular, when it comes tothings like this, you have to

(51:47):
let everybody who pushed this thing tobe a Schedule three die. It's like
whenever we find stuff out about thingsthat happened in our past, we have
to make sure that everybody was involvedis dead. And then we're like,
Okay, you guys want to knowthe real truth because nobody's gonna get mad
at us. Yeah. Interesting threetwo, three, five, three,

(52:07):
eight, twenty four to twenty three. At Chad Benson's show as your Twitter,
I just speaking of drugs, youwould want to be on drugs.
I think if you're in that courtroomlistening to Michael Kohne and this nightmare of
a case. And I know itbecause I get a lot of a lot
of you love Trump. No Idon't. I just I look at this

(52:29):
case and I say and I've saidit over and over again, and many
of you out there who hate Trump, you're like, oh, these things,
I don't care about that stuff whenit comes to go after mar A
Lago, got no problem with that. Go for the DC case election interference.
But you can't tell me this isn'tpolitical. And the fact that people

(52:52):
will look you in the face andsay it's not political when they still haven't
proven their case that there was goingto be a second crime committed. The
whole reason this thing's a felony isbecause they said, oh, there's going
to be a second crime committed,so they committed the first crime in order
to commit the second crime. Butthey haven't proven that out yet. Three

(53:15):
two, three, five, threeeight, twenty four, twenty three at
Chad Benson Show, is your TwitterTweet? At is text to program?
Got more on that, but he'sZach Abrahm's going to join the program.
Talk a little bit about inflation. Now it can affect you when it comes
to what's going on in the stockmarket and how the reality is if you
pump enough money and you can artificiallyinflate this thing forever because the market looks

(53:37):
great. But I remind everybody. And I say this over and over again.
Wall Street and Main Street are notthe same thing. Yeah. Plus
I got your text, you tweetsa lot of other things to get to
three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four, twenty three
at Chad Benton Show, to Twitter, your Instagram, you got anything to
say, please say it. Whetheryou love me, you hate me,
I'm fine with that. It isthe Chad Benson Show, Such Chad Benson

(54:07):
Show, independent thoughts, independent life. This is Chad Benson. What do

(54:34):
we do? I'm saying that he'sright now, right now, he's going
to jail. Okay, Okay,he's going to jail. And it ain't
nothing you can do about it.Period. There's there's nothing you can do
about Okay. Okay, Now youdo you have first accident on the media
reporter, Okay, So that's allI'm just I just want to make sure

(54:54):
that's okay. But you need tostand about it from here. No,
you got it, okay, Okay. That's Jeff Darlington. Early this morning,
there was a incident at the PGAChampionship in Valhalla, Louisville, Kentucky.
Gone Ducky. The person they're takingto jail is Scotty Scheffler. He's

(55:14):
been charged now with felony assault ofan officer. What did he do?
Is he drunk? No, hethought there was an accident earlier, somebody
had died. He had nothing todo with any of that. He was
showing up to get ready for hisround today. Round two of the PGA
Championships is the second major, andhe thought, with all the lights that

(55:36):
this is kind of a normal thing, you know where I'm just trying to
get into the place, running toplay golf. They tried to stop him.
They didn't know who he was,and he thought they were security.
He tried to go around him.I guess the officer grabbed the cards.
Scotty kept driving and lo and beholdhe's been arrested felony assault. That is
not a good thing. No,I don't think he's going to make his

(55:58):
tea time today. Oh geez.Talking about it earlier, many of you
chiming in about the chaos and theimportance of the hearing that was going on.
So if you didn't hear today orlate last night, there's an oversight
hearing that devolved into the high schoolfight. It quickly escalated into a heated
back and forth, Green making commentsabout Democrat Jasmine Crockett's eyelashes. I think

(56:23):
your fake eyelashes are messing up onorder at times, giggling and refusing to
apologize. Democrats moved to censure Green. That is absolutely unacceptable. How dare
you appears Chairman James Comer, strugglingto maintain control of the committee. Yeah,

(56:44):
he didn't do a good job,but what could you do? And
the importance of this hearing because it'sabout the tapes with Biden and the Special
Council and he's evoked, you know, executive order and privileged to hold onto
these things. He doesn't want themout, so they're gonna hold Merik Garland
in contempt. And part of thereason they want him out is simply because

(57:06):
he knows how it's gonna make himlook. Not what went on as far
as did he know this or didhe know that? No, it's the
frailty, it's the confusion, it'sthe lost thought, it's all of those
things that he's worried about. Sobut we're not talking about any of that
stuff because we're too busy talking aboutthem fighting. Your eyelashes, you're iq,

(57:32):
you're this, You're that, Ohmy god, enough, where are
the adults? What happened to them? They grew up and the smart ones
don't want anything to do with politicsfor this reason three two, three,
five, three, eight, twentyfour to twenty three at Sheed Benson Show,
is your Twitter? Tweet at ustext the program. We moved from

(57:53):
there to the Supreme Court because there'sa Karfoffel. Justice Alito has a history
of stirring political controversy, unusual forSupreme Court justices. The author of the
decision that overturned Roe versus Wade,he mocked criticism of that ruling that ended
a federal right to abortion, andAlito famously heckled President Obama at the twenty
ten State of the Union speech whenObama criticized the Court's Citizens United campaign finance

(58:17):
decision, Alito calling out, nottrue at Obama, Okay, not true.
He courts controversy. That's all hedoes, don't they all? Now
have you noticed how controversial the courtis only on the right side. The
left side has no controversy in themedia's world, Well, what is this
all about? This is about aphoto and a photo of a flag,

(58:40):
and the flag is the United Statesflag. And it's upside down and it's
front of his house, and thatis a symbol of the stop to Steal
movement, white supremacy. Love ofDonald Trump, nazis him being a pirate
anti LGA. I don't know, whatever you want to make of it,
they'll make of it. And sonow it's becoming something huge. The New
York Times says Justice Alito confirmed theincident to them, telling the Times that

(59:05):
it was solely his wife's decision tofly the flag like that, and that
she was in a dispute with thecouple's neighbors after one displayed an anti Trumps
sign that contained a curse word.Alito, writing to The Times, I
had no involvement whatsoever. It wasbriefly placed by missus Alito in response to
a neighbour's use of objectionable and personallyinsulting language on yard signs. Who do

(59:30):
you blut by that? Well,if you're if you're an average person,
you're like, I really don't care. I don't care that you're fighting with
your neighbors whatever. Why is thiscoming out now? Well, because he's
hearing cases that they want him accusedfrom, and those cases involved Trump,
and so this is why this isbecoming the big deal. So, Senator,

(59:51):
this comes at a moment where Americansfaith in the courts have really declined
per polling, that the course proceedis far more political than ever before it
come. Is that also a fraughtmoment for the nation. We're an election
year, the one of the leadingcandidates is currently on trial. There's is
sort of a sense of real unrestand tumult, and now we have this
where I think more and more Americansmight feel like, well, this is

(01:00:13):
in fact rigged. The gig isis that this is not going to be
done, you know, in afair and done way, with the Constitution
in mind. How worried are youabout where this nation's heading right now?
As things are only going to growtense between tenser between now November. So
that's MSNBC today, of course,How worried are you, Senator Blomoth,
Oh, oh my god, thisis it. It's never been. I

(01:00:35):
want to remind everybody up until Trump, which I still say is the thing
he'll be remembered for, is thecourts up until Trump. And in my
entire lifetime, the court has alwaysleaned left. There was never a problem
until it leaned right then it becamean issue. I couldn't be more worried.
And here's the reason. It goesto Michael's point. You know,

(01:00:58):
the judicial system has no arm, means, it has no police force.
Its orders are obeyed because of itscredibility, because people trust it, and
it has squandered that trust. Theones who have squandered it most irresponsibly are
the highest court justices. And we'veworked for code of ethics, been rejected

(01:01:20):
by Republicans. We've worked for aninspector general. My proposal is that the
judicial branch have an inspector general, just like every other agency of government.
The Supreme Court has no code ofethics, uniquely among the branches of government.
So I think it is a momentof reckoning for our democracy in a
very real sense because of the trustthat has been lost in our judiciary.

(01:01:46):
And I think we have a bipartisanobligation. We ought to come together as
Republicans and Democrats because this issue isbigger than either party and any of us
individualists. And so you're not inpower the way that you are, well,
Chad, they should be unbiased. They should be and remember this is
how they interpret the law. Youhave the originalist look at the Constitution,

(01:02:08):
said this is what the words mean, this is how we interpret it.
And then you have the progressive liberalwing of well are you sure they're liberal?
Well, of course, why isit that only the conservatives are hammered
in this situation? Out of curiosity, Like I said, growing up,
you go look at how long thecourt has leaned left, sometimes more left

(01:02:30):
than others. It's been pretty muchmost of my adult life and I'm fifty
three, and most of my childhood, my entire life. There were moments
here and there, but I wouldsay ninety five to ninety five percent of
the time I've been alive it's leanedleft. Where now it's like, well

(01:02:54):
it's gone right now. So becauseit's gone right, it's a problem.
It's not right or left, it'show you interpret it. You don't like
the outcome of what has taken place, so you want to change the rules.
And the rules now are is weneed to hold these people this,
We need to do that, Weneed to and it's only this side.

(01:03:15):
Oh, he's courted controversy. It'sfunny that you know him and Clarence Thomas,
they're always courting controversy. Nobody onthe left side's ever courted controversy.
Nobody on the left side's ever doneit. No, because the media loves
them and what they stand for,so they'll get a pass, and that
is frustrating to a lot of peopleout there. I want my justices to

(01:03:39):
look and interpret the law and theway that it was written and go from
there. The other side of itis the media makes this up to be
a lot bigger than it is.These justices, for the most part,
get along and for the most part, most of the cases are nine Ozho
eight one. So it is justcertain cases, particular Roe v. Wade,

(01:04:00):
things of that nature, that havepeople all in a kerfuffle. And
anytime you have a chance to goafter somebody you don't like in this day
and age, you go for it. And the media is going to help,
especially if you're on the right. The media is going to come for
you when given the opportunity. Threetwo, three, five, three,

remaining exactly the same. And whatpeople are feeling is that higher cost and
that is what's really pushing them aboutnineteen percent more than the month President Biden

(01:04:44):
came into office. Now people arepaying twenty one percent more at the grocery
store since the day President Biden cameto office, thirty eight percent more for
energy in that time frame. Allof this with the President misrepresenting now inflation
over the past two weeks, andthat doesn't help us. Kate, no,

Buddy Zach A Bramachi Investment offser overat Board Capital also have to be
a sponsor the show. Somebody we'dlove, by the way, Zach,

(01:07:01):
I had several people reach out thisweek and said that they were a couple
of them have talked to you andthey're working with Trevor and they're loving life
and what you're doing. So justshout out right there, that's awesome.
Thanks me. That's always good tohear. And you know, I think
everybody says this, but we reallydo have a great staff of people.
It'll take good care of them.So they're singing the praises, and I
thought, well, that's what wedo here. We want to make sure

(01:07:23):
that everybody understands this is what we'reall about, and it's all about is
the economy. Inflation numbers? Eh, come on, I mean, I'm
sure they'll revise them and they'll beeven worse. But the reality is,
as I try to explain to people, the rate of inflation is what they're
looking at, and how they evenfigure this out anymore? Is there bs?
But how can inflation because you're lookingOkay, so we're looking at Zach

(01:07:44):
here you are, You're the dude, You're the chief investment officer, you're
the cat, you know so muchstuff when it comes to this, I
look at this and people are askingme questions. We're at record levels in
the stock market, and what isthe indicator that things may goes out?
So and this is a top onefor everybody to wrap their heads around,
just because it's so different from whatthings have meant in the past. And

(01:08:05):
in the past, the stock marketwas actually a really good economic indicator,
meaning, you know, not onlywould it tell you if things were going
well, but it was usually anindicator of you know, good growth,
sound policy, right, kind oflike a temperature reading for the entire country.
In some ways, today, dueto what's occurred really since eight oh

(01:08:27):
nine, the stock market is somethingdecidedly different. And so when you see
I guess the thing everybody forgets isthat inflation it benefits some, it doesn't
benefit the others, or other places. But it also it rhymes with growth
when you're looking at it in termsof economics. Right, So if you

(01:08:48):
measure an economy by GDP and asense now I'm way over simplifying this,
but it is true. If you'relooking at an economy by GDP, what
you're essentially doing just adding up thenominal amounts of all of the transactions around
the around the around the country.Right, So you're taking in some value

(01:09:09):
add But basically, if everything stayedthe same and you just had an instant,
you know, snappier fingers ten tofifteen percent inflation, the stock market
would most likely be ten to fifteenpercent higher. We got to think about
it less in terms of the assetitself going up and down in price,
and more about the currency itself buyingmore, buying less. Right now,

(01:09:32):
I think that's one of the confusingthings. So, you know, and
in a way to think about this, if we look at the best performance
stock market over the last thirty yearsin the world, and it's not even
close, it's Zimbabwe, right, they were dealing with, i want to
say, like eight to nine hundredpercent inflation, one thousand percent inflation at
one point. So there's this partof inflation that actually looks good, but

(01:09:57):
it's not because you know, ifthe value of your assets are going up
fifteen percent a year, unless you'rereally rich, right, that fifteen percent
quote unquote increase in the value ofyour assets, if the cost if your
cost of living goes up twenty percentover the same period of time. Sure,
it's fun to look at your investmentstatement and go, oh, we're
up fifteen percent, but we've fallenfive percent behind. Right. So,

(01:10:21):
and this is why we've said,Chad most in our next we've changed the
way we're doing the road shows inthe sense that we're focusing on the inflation
factor. And people don't realize thisbecause we're so conditioned to just look at
the balance of our account right it'sup or down. But if you look
at nineteen sixty six to nineteen eightyone, the last time this economy really

(01:10:42):
dealt with inflation, the stock marketwas flat for fifteen years and bonds got
hit hard. On the face ofit, you're like, hey, a
flat over fifteen years is the worstthing that happens. You know, that's
not so bad. Well, thenyou factor over that same period of time,
you've had nine percent in and flat. If your assets don't grow over

(01:11:03):
a fifteen year period of time andinflation increases by nine percent a year,
you're going to be dealing with apurchasing power decline. So what your money
can buy you that will have asmuch of a loss as the stock market
crash of nineteen twenty nine to nineteenthirty two that started the Great Depression.

(01:11:24):
Wow, So well, I meanit's just crazy. I mean, I
look at this because I think everybodythinks that Main Street and Wall Street are
the same, which you and Irecognize it's not. And like you said,
it used to be, and nowbecause I feel like it is so
manipulated and the government plays such amajor role that we don't really get a
sense of what's going on. That'swhy we need people like you. Hey

(01:11:45):

twenty four to twenty three At ChadBenson Shows your Twitter. It's a Chad
Benson Chat. This is the ChadBenson Show, Independent Thoughts, Independent Life.

(01:13:15):
This is Chad Benson. Controversy reallyhas always controversy, but something interesting.
It's the biggest story of the day. We're gonna find out what's trending.
We know what the biggest thing is, and that's Scotti Scheffler. Why
is that because the number one golferof the world was arrested this morning,
a guy who goes and heads upthe Bible study, who's a teetoadler.

(01:13:35):
He was arrested felony assault of anofficer. He was drunk. Well,
no, think about confusion, thinkabout chaos, think about not understanding what's
going on, and then think aboutmaybe a cop who decided, you know
what, you've assaulted me on media. I'm a reporter, that's all.

(01:13:57):
I'll just want to make sure that'sa day. But you need to stand
about here. No prom you gotit, Okay, okay, all right.
So that's Jeff Darlington who was thereearly this morning, and there was
an incident that took place outside ofValhalla in Louisville, Kentucky. This is
so much more interesting to talk aboutthis and what everybody's talking about comparatively to
Eve my wife this morning, forthe things she said to me. She
goes, Scotty got arrested. Iknow, because she loves Scotty, his

(01:14:24):
faith, the way he lives hislife, et cetera. But there was
an incident in front of the course, and Jeff Darlington is also trending talks
about the incident. What happened enteringVahalla Golf Club this morning. We witnessed
a car pull around us. Thatwas Scotti Scheffler was in the car.

(01:14:45):
To be very clear about the detailshere, Scotty Scheffler has been detained by
police officers placed in the back ofa police vehicle in handcuffs after he tried
to pull around what he believed tobe security he ended up being police officers.
They told him to stop. Whenhe didn't stop, the police officer
attached himself to the vehicle. Schefflerthen traveled another ten yards before stopping the

(01:15:10):
car. The police officer then grabbedat his arm, attempting to pull him
out of the car, before Schefflereventually opened the door, at which point
the police officer pulled Scheffler out ofthe car, pushed him up against the
car, and immediately placed him inhandcuffs. He wasn't drunk, He didn't
kill the person. A person waswalking. Because if for those you guys

(01:15:30):
who don't understand, people get therereally early, usually to imvibe in the
party atmosphere that is this tournament,in particular, it's the PGA tournament.
It is. It is the secondmajor of the year, so it's when
everybody comes together, even the livegolfers. You've got shuttle buses to take
people back and forth. Somebody waswalking in a bus only lane got hit
and when he rolled up, hedidn't know what was going on. He

(01:15:53):
had to get into the course becausehe's a golfer, not understanding who this
guy was. Not that I wouldexpect anybody to, especially when you've got
somebody who's dead. And Scotty doesn'tsee any of this stuff. He just
thinks it's the normal hubbub that goeson in and around there, and he
just thinks the security and it's not. Scheffler was then walked over to the

(01:16:15):
police car, placed in the backin handcuffs, very stunned about what was
happening, looked toward me as hewas in those handcuffs and said, please
help me. He very clearly didnot know what was happening in this situation.
It moved very quickly, very rapidly, very aggressively. He was detained

(01:16:40):
in that police vehicle for approximately twentyminutes. The police officers at that point
did not understand that Scotty Scheffler wasa golfer in the tournament, nor of
course, that he is the numberone player in the world. Apparently they
and he's got a picture, themugshot, the orange jumpsuit. Interesting thing

(01:17:00):
about this is Scotty told the guy, I didn't know you were a cop,
and the cop didn't do anything, and so it's just it's crazy.
He's number golfer, the world's mostboring person in the world. Maybe this
is some street cred he'll get.I love Scotty though, I think he's
a hell of a golfer. It'sjust interesting to watch. It's going a
wacky swing, his feet go allover the place. Now controversy three two,

(01:17:20):
three, five, three eight, twenty four to twenty three Act you
had Benson shows your Twitter you're gonnatravel this Memorial Day season. The TSA
says they are fully staffed up,ready to go. The airlines say they're
also ready to go, not justwith staffing, but also about five percent
of flights are going to be usinglarger aircraft to accommodate more passengers. At
the same time, though with staffingshortage, that's going to have an impact

(01:17:41):
or cause some snags. We're aboutthree thousand air traffic controllers, shy of
where we would like to be.It's already impacting the schedule out of New
York City. It's going to beabout ten percent fewer flights, ten percent
fewer flights home. My lord, and a flatbed forward. A lot of
people traveling this Memorial Day. Youknow, I don't do that stuff.
We're thinking about visiting my family nextweek and I'm af fright and it's all
my wife. Then maybe'll go outThursday night, we'll sday Friday, Saturday,

(01:18:02):
we'll leave early Sunday morning, sowe avoid all the stuff. I
always tell everybody this, go aday early, leave a day late,
or leave a day early. Dowhat you can to avoid the chaos,
because traveling shouldn't be so miserable thatyou hate the trip in between. Have
you ever done that? Have youever traveled and it was such a nightmare

(01:18:24):
to get where you're going, andthe entire time you're at your vacation,
wherever you are, the whole timeyou're thinking is I just don't want to
travel anymore, and it's going tobe a nightmare going home, And you've
ruined that part of your vacation becauseyou're worried about travel. The good news
is there's not a lot of newswith gas price can they've been relatively flat
over the past month or so.The national average for a gallon of this
morning three dollars and fifty nine cents. That's very similar to what it was

(01:18:45):
this time last year. But ifyou're going to be driving for a Memorial
Day weekend, it's going to bequite crowded at times. Triple A is
anticipating thirty eight point four million peopledriving, and yes, that is a
new record, a new record everytime we turn around where SATIN records.
At least stuff's affordable prices are downcompared to last year and actually lower than
twenty nineteen and twenty eighteen, soit will be an affordable Memorial Day weekend,

(01:19:09):
even though we are expecting some crowdedairports. We're seeing top destinations like
Miami and Denver are topping the lists, but we're also seeing some off the
beaten track destinations becoming more popular, things like Nantucket, Massachusetts, Cody,
Wyoming, and destinations across Alaska.Ooh yeah, it's just I don't you

(01:19:33):
out travel you get older. Travelis like one of those things where you
think I really want to do it. This seems like a lot of work.
If getting ready and unpacking when youget home seems like it's too much
work, then you know you're atthat point in your life. You're like,

(01:19:54):
because don't you hate when you comehome and you're like, I got
to unpack and just throw it away. Take what you need out and throw
the the rest of way. Threetwo, three, five, three eight,
twenty four to twenty three at shehad Benson Show as your Twitter tweet
ed us text the program, Samuelleto obviously, the other big news of
the day is a big news.It's a photo of a flag. It's

(01:20:15):
upside down, and of course that'scausing chaos and controversy. And this was
in front of his house, Iguess after the election, which if the
flag's upside down means something politically, his wife is getting the blame. According
to Samuel Alitos, when he toldthe Time she did it. The New
York Times says Justice Alito confirmed theincident to them, telling the Times that

(01:20:36):
it was solely his wife's decision tofly the flag like that, and that
she was in a dispute with thecouple's neighbors after one displayed an anti Trumps
sign that contained a curse word Ileading, writing to The Times, I
had no involvement whatsoever. It wasbriefly placed by missus Alito in response to
a neighbour's use of objectionable and personallyinsulting language on yard signs, personally insulting.

(01:21:04):
I didn't do it. Wasn't me, Sure, it wasn't you.
I don't know if it was youor not. It was it was just
it's this is the stuff. Becauseseveral of you have chimed in, you
know, this is the problem withthe court. We should expand the court.
We should do this, We shoulddo that. The court is too

(01:21:25):
conservative. The court is too Iwant my Supreme Court justices to be essentially
oracles. You don't want any biases, but you're human beings, so you're
gonna have some. And depending onwhat side of the eyele you're on,
you're gonna be frustrated with them. And the whole expanding the court thing,

(01:21:45):
which more and more people are chimingin about. This is this is the
problem with because there is no setin stone. Nine's kind of been it.
It's been less, it's been morea few times, but you can
have it as many as you want. And there's the problem because let's say
Biden sides, if I're in thisnext election, I'm going to expand the
court. So what do you do? You bring on how many liberal justices

(01:22:05):
then to do what overcome the conservativejustices? Then you end up losing the
next election and a conservative comes inand goes, well, you know what
I'm gonna do. Now, I'mto expend next thing. You know,
you got four hundred Supreme Court justices. And the liberals never understand this,

(01:22:27):
which is something we were talking aboutthe other day with Cinemon Mansion gone.
If they hold the Senate, theycan now really go hard to getting rid
of the filibuster for certain things topass, getting instead of getting over that
sixty threshold the nuclear option like they'vedone with justices already. But what people
don't realize is if you do it, expect the other side's going to do
it, and you can't be frustratedwhen they do. Three two, three,

of course you live in Houston. That's trending. But a million people that

How about we start with Google trends. Michael Cohen very contentious yesterday.

(01:25:12):
Is he gets cross examined? You'rea liar? Right, of course he's
a he's a lawyer. Not verynice. Chet Are you saying all lawyers
are liars? I'm saying that's kindof what they get paid to do.
Oh okay, PGA Championship yesterday, first round Bridgerton Season three. It ends
with us a weepy romance. Thefirst trailer drops young Sheldon Dallas, Stars,

(01:25:35):
Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler, SoScotti Scheffler best golfer in the world
right now, it's undisputed. He'swon the last four tournaments. He think
he's played in something like that.He and then he came in second,
and the other one then had ababy, took like three weeks off and
his first hole he eagled it.So he's really good. Megalopolis, which

(01:25:58):
is Francis Ford Coppola amazing, incrediblemovie whatever, got a standing ovation,
Oh my god. Bird Con FilmFestival, Oh my lord. And then
we head over to the magical worldof Well Yahoo, YEAHO. Gail King.

(01:26:19):
Sam Rubin, you know who SamRubin is. He is a was
a reporter, entertainment reporter. Everybodyloves Sam. Los Angeles passed away last
week heart attack. Every and hewas one of those people that he would
report for kt LA Channel five inLos Angeles, but it would be everywhere.

(01:26:39):
He was the pre eminent entertainment reporter. Sirie Cruz m TG. We're
gonna get to that in a second. And we're talking about it throughout the
day, all trending, and finallyover to Twitter, Billie Eilish got a
new song out called Lunch. Apparentlyit's a lesbian theme. Like Okay,

(01:27:05):
Harrison Butker is trending everywhere because he'smean Chad. It's the mean Perths and
Catholic trending on the NFL side ofthings. Yeah, I know, right,
because of Harrison Butker Cots. He'sMaine, Sammy Alito, you mean
Samuel Yeah, you know what we'retalking about there. He is one of

(01:27:26):
the people that happens to be ScotusSupreme Court Justice Good Friday, Michael Cohene
all trending, Houston, Lauren BobertMTG. I've been talking about it throughout
the show today. The cat fight. That was everything. I mean,

(01:27:48):
it's it's everything that is wrong withour politics. You have people arguing at
a House Oversight committee on Merrick Garlandand we played some of it earlier,
but it just it's so infuriating becausethis is everything that our modern politics is

(01:28:12):
about. You know, my grandfatherwas the was the he was head of
the Carpenter's Union in Southern California. So he's a big Democrat but conservative a
lot of ways. But we wouldargue policy even when I was a kid.
And by the way, when heretired he wasn't as democratic as he

this, he's the kicker for theChiefs small Catholic college, giving a speech

(01:29:41):
to people who are Catholics and talkingabout his faith in the belief that he

would demand that, the first ofall the whole change dot Org thing,
I demand you fire this person isso ridiculous. He's a kicker. If
he's a quarterback totally safe. Willthe Chiefs pull a plug on him?

(01:30:03):
I don't know it is possible intoday's weird world. He's a kicker.
He is not the quarterback or astar receiver who you could do anything and

Scotty Scheffler, number one golf fromthe world, has been arrested.
Seems to be quite a misunderstanding aboutwhat took place. He has released a
statement. Statement reads, this morning, I was proceeding as directed by police

(01:31:18):
officers. It was very chaotic situation, understandably so, considering the tragic accident
that occurred earlier, and there wasa big misunderstanding of what I thought I
was being asked to do. Inever intended to disregard any of the instructions.
I'm hopeful to put this to theside and focus on golf today.
Of course, all of us involvedin the tournament express our deepest sympathies to

and how can you mangle Mollie MalenaZupbeth cop Oh my god. Now I'm

(01:32:31):
not always great at names, butuh, I'm not missing up Molly or
Bruce or Megan Mihano? What what? What the heck? What is this?
The announcer at Thomas Jefferson University inPhiladelphia was reading off phonetically spelled names
on cards. How hard is itto pronounce Thomas for the Rucker Thomas?

(01:32:54):
Can you state your full name forus? Thomas? Michael Cannavery Junior Thomas
was the first College of Nursing gradto actually correct the mispronunciation Ta mold May
Thomas Thomas says, at first,it felt like a slap in the face
mold May. And she never evensaid my last name at all. Who

(01:33:17):
in God's name this is a collegeyou can't read. You shouldn't be up
there doing the things. But nowthat the video has gone viral, they
just cannot stop with thinking of laughingabout it. I'll never forget that day
for as long as I Live, neither will Sarah, Virginia Brennan, sire
Uvoon Jean ju be none. Onher Instagram, Sarah posted a new degree

(01:33:44):
a name thanks, I guess theannouncer apologized, So did Thomas Jefferson University,
saying each graduate deserves to have theirname honored correctly. Well, so
if your choice was if your choicewas mispronunciation of names and hilarity like a

(01:34:08):
Saturday Night Live skit, a ronor or Palestinian protesters running wild, I'll
take the first one. You don'tmind that? Uh, speaking of the
younger generation, what's up a SocialSecurity? So I'm watching the news and
I'm trying to understand why Congress keepssaying that social Security is running out and

(01:34:29):
by twenty thirty five, we're notgonna have enough for everybody. That's not
making sense to me. That mathnot mathing, because we all are contributing
to Social Security. Every time weget a paycheck. They're taking Social Security
and Medicare out of our paychecks. So how is it running out? And
I don't understand why it's going intoa pool because you already know America don't
give everybody the fair share. Honestly, the Social Security that I'm putting in
should go into a trust for me. So when I'm sixty five, I
get access to my trust, mymoney, whatever I put in, whatever

(01:34:51):
work I did from the age ofeighteen to sixty five, and the amount
of money that I contributed to SocialSecurity that should go directly to me.
It shouldn't go into a pool.Yeah. Yeah, she's angry about that.
Uh. And it's very interesting becauseshe's right about one thing. It
does go into a trust. Theproblem is they don't do their fiduciary responsibilities.

(01:35:13):
That money, in theory, isnever supposed to be touched. It
goes in there. And I'll saythis, no matter what you put into
it, you're never going to you'realways going to outspend it because we're living
longer, you know, Social Security, Medicare, all this stuff. The
reason is is because for every dollaryou're putting in and realistically you're spending four
dollars, especially on the healthcare sideof stuff. But what they do is

(01:35:33):
they put all that money into thisand then much like California's done, and
that's why they're always raising taxes becausethey put money into stuff and then they
have to go Rob Peter to payPaul and essentially leave an IOU there and
say we'll get to it. Well, those IRUs are running out. I
think it has to do with thegovernment misallocating funds as usual, taking all
of our money, looking it upinto a big bucket. It's taking out

(01:35:56):
whatever they want to take out.And then when it comes to actually giving
the money back to the citizen inthe US having money for retirement, they're
like, oh, no, wedon't have enough yet because y'all don't bottom
out the cash bag, giving moneyto different countries, putting money up for
football stadiums, putting money up forall this other stuff other than helping the
American people. Well, let's settledown there. A lot of it goes
to other giant entitlements. And theydon't do football stadiums. That's not a

(01:36:19):
federal thing. That's a state andlocal thing. But I like your fired
up noss, I get it.And yes, they do allocate it for
other things. You know, theyallocate this money for this, and then
they go, well we should takethat, and then we'll go and we'll
cover all of these other things.I don't understand why Social Security does not
go into a specific account for eachAmerican person. The same way they know

(01:36:43):
that how much money we owe itto the irs is the same way they
know how much money we've contributed toSocial Security. And everybody should get their
share of whatever they've contributed to SocialSecurity. You should not go into no
pool like that doesn't make sense. And it doesn't make sense that they're seeing
that we're going to run out ofSocial Security if they're taking money out of
everybody's paychecks every single day, there'sno day that they don't take Social Security
out of somebody's paycheck. She's right, frustrated, understandable, but again,

(01:37:08):
we overspend and we promise way toomuch, and a lot of these are
for entitlements and other programs, andwe leave IOU's and this is eventually going
to run. It's you know,it's gonna run. It's gonna run its
ground, and next thing you know, the ship's like, we're on land.
We're like, oh, how dowe get here? Well, we

(01:37:28):
knew we were coming here because wecould see the giant island, but nobody
wanted to go around it. Nobodywanted to fix it. So but I
like, I love the passion.I love the passion. She's fired up,
speaking of fired up, you didn'thear talked about it throughout the day.
The high school version of Congress orthe Congress version of high school,
It really depends on what you're lookingat. Last night, a fight between

(01:37:51):
Marjorie Taylor Green and any other Democratwho would fight with her crocket from Texas,
and of course AOC over eyelashes,I q's things of that nature.
It was expired. Does any othermembers shake recognition? Miss Cherry recognizes Miss
Green. I'd like to know ifany of the Democrats on this committee are

(01:38:12):
employing Judge Mershawn's daughter. Please tellme what it has to do with Mary
Garland, Oh Goldman, that's right, he's advising. Do you know what
we're here for? You know we'rehere. I don't know what you're hearing
for. Well, you don't wantto talking about I think your fake eyelashes
are messing up on nothing. Orderand just sounds solid and this sounds insane.

(01:38:35):
We're not done, we're just gettingstarted. And then the cat fight
of your committee order. I dohave a point of order and I would
like to move to to take downMiss Green's words. That is absolutely unacceptable.
How dare you appear are your feelingsher words down? Oh girl,

(01:38:58):
baby girl? Oh really, don'teven play baby girl, and we are
gonna move and we're gonna take yourwords down my second a motion. Don't
even play baby, Oh baby girl. This is what happens again. We'll
giving me the sounds of the weekand the chaos and craziness that's gone on.
And this is some of the storieswe've missed. We've not missed this
one, but it's just worth hearingover and over again because it's inside.

(01:39:20):
Miss Green agrees to strock her words. I believe, hold on. Then
after mister Perrys will be recognized.I'm not apologized. I am not apologizing.
Well let's come come on, guys, why don't you debate me.
You're not you're not you don't haveenough intelligence. Okay, every lady's words

(01:39:47):
again. Poor James Comer doing everythinghe can, but he can't hear.
And he reminds everybody that as afight and this is all an oversight hearing
about Merrick Garland and getting the tapesreleased of the her investigation with President Biden
that he's already said he's got anexecutive action and privilege that he's not going

(01:40:09):
to allow those things and should theyhold Merrick Garland contempt. It went from
being something serious to high school andthe poor change comer. I'm recognized.
I'm gonna go ahead talking. Look, I know, I know. Look,
I don't know if you've noticed it. I have two here at a
very DAF. I'm not understanding everybody'syelling. I'm doing the best I can.
Can we not recognize miss Greendon Leonardscannot because of the rules of the

(01:40:30):
committee. That is what I'm tryingto communicate in the present moment. I
hope you guys understand this. Ican't hear good take those things out so
you don't have to hear any ofthat that it sounds solid, sounds some
stories that we missed this week,or maybe we just needed to hear again.
Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four to twenty

(01:40:51):
three at Chad Benson Show. Shouldtwitter your Instagram. We'll wrap it up
straight ahead, Chad Benson Show,The Reverence Like, yeah, so what
it's the Chat Fenson Show. Justthis small town girl living in a lonely

(01:41:21):
world. Where is everyone? Idecided I would take the midnight train anywhere
and absolutely anywhere. On the otherhand, Justice city boy baby New York.
He also took a midnight trend goinganywhere, maybe everywhere, we don't

(01:41:44):
know. Don't stop believing. Ohthe Internet, Oh my lord, that's
Donald Trump. Don't stop believing. That wasn't really Donald Trump. Just want
to let you guys know that DonaldTrump is busy, as is his defense
Tom Cross examining Michael Cohen, Thedefense had tried to lad the groundwork to

(01:42:05):
portray Cohen as a liar and pointedout inconsistencies in statements he made about a
whole lot of things, like whetherhe sought a cooperation deal with prosecutors,
whether he sought a pardon, whetherhe really wanted a job as White House
Chief of Staff, all to suggestthat you can't trust anything. Michael Cohen

(01:42:25):
says, yeah, I think theyget that. And remember when they instruct
the jury, they'll say, ifyou think this guy's lying about one thing,
you can assume in your mind andthink that he's lying about everything.
And I think with Michael Cohen, take away the problem with because there are

(01:42:45):
plenty of people out there that arebad people that will be a witness when
it comes to situations criminal in nature. Right, we know that plenty of
people that are in jail because otherpeople that are criminals flipped whatever it was.

(01:43:05):
Usually it's for something for themselves. For Michael Cohen, he has got
a lot of stuff. He's donea lot of things, and it was
all about pleasing the master in hismind. And then you went on a
revenge tour, wrote a book aboutrevenge. You're on a revenge tour all
the time. And even if whatyou're saying may or may not be true,

(01:43:30):
and I'm sure some of it istrue, some of it, as
I like to say, you're probablyputting the mustard on in this trial.
The reality is is I couldn't getback past the fact that you're out to
get him, and so it's hardfor me to buy anything you're saying.
The testimony with Todd Blanche kind ofhis voice rising both in tone and in

(01:43:55):
tenor, said that was a lie. You did not talk to President Trump
that night. You can admit it. A Michael Cohen held firm he did
not lose any of his composure, even though over and over Blanche insisted that
was a lie, and that wasa big phone call about whether or not
they talked about Stormy Daniels but apparentlywas other things involved. It is,

(01:44:18):
it's ridiculous. We shouldn't be here, This shouldn't be happening again. If
you want to talk about mar Lagoand you want to talk about what's going
on in DC and the election interference, zero problems with that. But these
state cases, in particular this one, and what's going on in Georgia,
and I don't even know if thatthing's ever going to see the light to
day at the rate it's going,it's it's ridiculous. And it is more

(01:44:41):
about the people that are prosecuting andtheir egos and this want to get this
person, and that is showing throughno doubt about that. It is Friday's
You guys know that, and that'swhy I want to give you some of
the sounds that maybe you missed duringthe week. You know what this is
called. It's finally Friday. DonaldTrump lost two debates to me in twenty
twenty. It sounds that he hadn'tshown up for debate now exactly what he

(01:45:04):
wanted to debate me again? Hasit in Biden set a trap for Donald
Trump? And Donald Trump fell rightinto it. I myself would never recommend
going on the stage with Donald Trump. I'm not one hundred dollars walking in
my hole. I know how I'llsay it. The body's burning a hold,
got through my bucket in and domy skin. I'm on the morning,

(01:45:29):
I'll be It's fine. Free here, I'm done, my motor running.
Wait again, it's final time. That's why you like Trump, because
you benefited under him. Call theother people. He's over three ways to

(01:45:55):
Sunday. But I would venture toguess that the majority of you are most
excited about your marriage and the childrenyou will bring into this world. It's
fine, Fine again, it's fine. I don't understand why people are not

(01:46:18):
taking him seriously. He's not goingto not stop being present. You understand
this. You're a professor, andthey are destroying the campus and undoing a
democratic, peaceful protest. Guy,wonder we a thirty unity of fine.

(01:46:49):

the systems and institutions that enforce underYou don't need to fully understand the nuances
of gender identity or sexuality to knowthat each person knows who they are better
than you ever will that sometimes peoplewill open the door for you and leave

all by saying something stupid. He'lltake stupid pills this morning. It's the
honest ones you want to watch outfor, because you can never predict they're
going to do something incredibly stupid. Now you're the fat, stupid one with
the big mouth. Is stupid littleastro time. You should never underestimate the

(01:48:29):
Did you know that ninety million yearsago the Antarctic had a rainforest?
That's right, ninety million years ago. It was thick and lush, a
rainforest, if you will. Duringthe Cretaceous period, the tail end of
the age of dinosaurs, the Cretaceoushothouse. Oh my lord, surface levels

(01:48:51):
of the ocean in the tropics werean incredible ninety five degrees fahrenheit global warming.
Indeed, and because that, well, they had to have a carbon
tax I don't think that's true.Little things that can make you smile.
