(00:10):
Independent thoughts, independent life. Thisis Chad Benson. Perception and reality two
separate things. Reality is reality.I hope you guys know that the perception
of reality, though in your mind, could make certain things, you know,
feel like this is the reality ofstuff when it's not. It's not.
I always say this. Have youever driven down the road and it's
(00:32):
you feel like it is pouring andyou can't even see out the window,
and then you look out to theleft, you're the driver, and you
think, wait a minute, here, why does it feel like it's you
know, and looks like to methat it's raining so hard I could barely
see. Yet I can see clearlycomparatively to you know, what's coming and
(00:54):
hitting my windshield, that it's nota deluge of water. That is the
financial world that people are currently facing. And there is a new study out
about the economy, and boy arethe misconceptions o big. A new poll
(01:14):
shows the majority of Americans think theUS is in a recession by any objective
or fair measure, we are not. They also believe the stock market is
down again. We are not.The stock market is way up. They
believe unemployment is at a fifty yearhigh. The data shows well, unemployment
at a near fifty year low. There is a huge disconnect right now in
(01:38):
America when it comes to the databetween reality and perception. Yeah, reality
and perception. And I'll say this, there is the thing that I've talked
about in the two economy world, which is you work somewhere, you own
(01:59):
a business, you're an employee, right what your business seems to be doing
pretty well. That's the business sideof it. The consumer side gives us
the feeling that we're in a recession, gives us a feeling that things are
going sideways, gives us because it'snot about whether the economy is good.
(02:23):
Is are you keeping up with theeconomy. It's an individual thing. So
William Cohen financial guy, banker, talking about the perception, the reality,
and how people view things. Itused to matter a lot. We used
to have faith in the statistics thatwe heard. We used to have faith
(02:46):
in the media that reported the statisticsthat we were told. You know,
now everything is subject to debate, everything is subject to interpretation, everything is
subject to opinion. And social media, of course, has filled a constant
(03:07):
barrage of opposing realities and alternate realities. And of course you have you know,
Donald Trump leading the way saying thatyou know, the stock market is
up because people are anticipating his returnto the White House, which is you
know, ridiculous. You know,he's probably saying all those things that half
(03:29):
the country are believing. And weknow that the country is extremely polarized.
So this is the result that youget, is it? And he was
talking about the reality of it,And I go back to this. We
could sit here and we can playthis game because the economy, it's the
thing that matters. You know,Abe, we talk about abortion, border
(03:50):
economy. Economy is always going tobe number one or two minus a black
Swan event like we talked about, you know, some sort of terror event,
and then we showed that the borderwas the issue that being said.
Yeah, you know, that's theway we've always done it, right,
Like do you remember when Bill Mahersaid that before COVID that the best way
for us to get rid of DonaldTrump is to go into a big recession,
(04:11):
have some sort of crash. Well, half the country believe, Yeah,
that's probably it. And there's alot of people out there who want
the other side to fail when they'rein office. For me, I want
to succeed. I don't care.I don't care about your politics. I
want the economy to be good. And if you want the economy to fail,
that is not a good thing. It is it. That's not patriotic,
(04:34):
that is not good for our country, that's not good for anybody.
What I think the banker there, mister Cohen, is missing, though,
is it's the consumer side that givesus the feeling that things are sideways.
Because when I'm consuming and I'm goingout and I'm buying stuff, food to
(04:55):
feed the kids, right because apparentlythey still need to eat. We haven't
turned into the honor party yet, putting gas in the car, all of
those things that consumer side said,oh oh, we better brace ourselves,
continue sir. But the reality isthen economy is doing great. Unemployment is
it a fifty year low, thestock markets at an all time high,
(05:17):
and the bond market is actually investiblefor the first time in about fifteen years.
Okay, that's fine, we don'tlive you know. I saw the
other day that Biden tweeted out howit's an all time high, tweeted something
over the White House towards Trump, and the Trump retweeted something that Biden put
out in twenty twenty that said, hey, nobody lives in the stock market.
(05:38):
We're talking about reality. You know, real people here don't live in
the stock market. Something like that. Again, your retirement, that's great
for your retirement, but you're nowherenear your retirement. You're not taking money
out. It's the consumer side thatgives us this thought that ooh, fifty
year low on unemployment. How dopeople get to the fifty year high?
(05:58):
I have no idea how to getit. Maybe it's lack of information,
but the feeling of dread because theeconomy seems so damn expensive and no matter
how good you think you're doing,it is outpacing you. That's what gives
everybody a sense that this isn't working. I think during the pandemic, obviously,
(06:19):
supply line broke down, inflation increased, you know, fairly dramatically because
of you know, goods and servicescouldn't be delivered in a timely fashion.
Interest rates had to go up.They were kept at artificial levels for thirteen
(06:39):
years. And I'm sure a lotof people are feeling that they go to
the grocery store and everything looks moreexpensive. Certainly if they go out to
eat everything is more expensive at thegas pump. You know, it fluctuates,
but it probably looks on balance moreexpensive. Yes, so there's definitely
some of that. I don't wantto minimize that. But on the other
(07:00):
hand, it could be much muchworse. I mean, interest rates could
be even higher, There's no questionabout that. Unemployment. Can you imagine
if we had a high inflation andhigh unemployment and a stock tacking in a
bond market, they weren't investable.Yeah, I could imagine that. But
see, you didn't want to minimizeit, but you did. And I'll
(07:21):
tell you why. Probably because you'renot a fan of Trump, no doubt
about that. But when you're tellingpeople, well, it looks more expensive
because it is more expensive, itdoesn't look more expensive because when I go
to buy something, that same thingthat costs me X is now costing me
Z. And I look at myaccount and it went down Z. So
(07:46):
it is not the and I've saidthis for a while, it's the two
pronged economy. You feel safe inyour job, You feel like things are
good because on this side, whenyou're the employee, you're the employer.
While things are a little bit moreexpensive. You've got business. On the
other side of it, you takethat hat off, put on the consumer
hat, and things change dramatically, big time. So while we have a
(08:15):
lot of misconceptions and they're wrong, that is the economy as a employer employee
side of things, the consumer sideof things, give us the thought of
dread. Three two three, five, three eight, twenty four to twenty

in Taiwan and China. We'll discussChad Benson. Joe, you're listening to
(10:31):
the Chad Benson Show. Food,Paul, Don't don't fool Basol. Chinese
state television showing highlights of the twoday exercise. They Jing calls the drills
punishment for separatist forces seeking independence onthe self governed island. It's also said
to be a warning to external forcessteer clear of any interference or provocation.
(10:52):
China's Eastern Theater Command is combining land, naval, and air elements in the
large maneuvers. Things are getting alittle uncomfortable over there. So this is
what happened. They got a newpresident who's vowed basically for them to be
independent Taiwan. So she was sworninto this week. They encircled the island
and said, hey, you guys, try something. You're done for their
(11:15):
foreign minister. This is their foreignminister, wang Wen Bin. Taiwan's independent
forces will be left with their headsbroken and blood flowing after colliding against the
Great Wow. So this is athis is an ugly situation. It's an
(11:35):
absolutely ugly situation that is going on, and it goes to well, it
goes to the situation that we're currentlyin here, and that is, do
we have the cohones to be whatwe can be when it comes to being
(11:56):
the superpower? And when I watchBiden talk about Israel and then two minutes
later juxtaposed his position, I wonderand and and times he said, oh,
we'll defend Taiwan like, which isnot part of You just make that
up, You just say stuff. But if I'm China right now and I'm
(12:20):
feeling a little bit itchy, andI'm looking over and I'm thinking this guy
he hymns and hauls on certain things, right he's this would be the time
because if the other guy gets in, who knows what that's going to be
like, Oh I don't know.I don't know what that's going to be
like. Could be easy for usto do with Trump, might be tough
(12:41):
because that guy is a loose cannon. And with Joe, we know we
get with Joe Joe Biden. Youknow it's never gonna look like Beatlemania when
Joe Might Biden steps off a planegoing to an event. Joe Biden's Joe
Biden's about normalcy. And by theway, if you don't think that's a
winning message in twenty four You're nottalking to the right voters, who,
(13:05):
even if they voted for Trump insixteen, are exhausted now. Yeah,
Normalcy an old doddering man whose memoryand issues mentally are not going to get
any better. The youngest he's evergoing to be is today. Who has
made every wrong decision when it hascome to foreign situations going back decades.
(13:35):
And by the way, media, that was Joe Scarborough Morning. Joe,
you guys live off of Trump andis chaos and you're part of it.
That's it. You're part of theproblem when it comes to Trump's chaos because
you take stuff and then you runwith it because it's what your viewers want.
(13:56):
And when we talk, Joe isscary in a lot of ways which
he's super divisive. I mean thatspeech at Morehouse over the weekend was divisive,
but you can go back and lookat all the speeches and the things
he has said that have been divisiveover and over again. But because we
like Joe, because he doesn't tweetmean things, and everything is subtle and
(14:18):
the division that he pushes is subtle. What do you mean, like the
Moorhouse speech basically telling everybody here's justgraduated from historically black college, right with
their future in front of him, saying, Hey, because the white people,
you guys have no chance. Thiscountry just hates your guts have fun.
(14:41):
Oh that's not very nice, Jed. That's the reality. Saw.
I summed it up for you ina short period. But go back to
the Bull Connors thing. Right whenGeorgia. Do you remember Georgia and the
whole changing of the election laws thateverybody freaked out. It's like, oh,
this is it Jim Crow again,Jim Crow on stare. He has
said so many divisive things, butbecause the media, the left leaning media,
(15:05):
gives him a pass. With Trumptotally different, because Trump's willing to
go toe to toe and he's entertainment. Speaking of Donald Trump an endorsement from
her. Trump has not been perfecton these policies. I've made that clear
many many times. But Biden hasbeen a catastrophe. So I will be
(15:28):
voting for Trump. Having said that, I stand by what I said in
my suspension speech. Trump would besmart to reach out to the millions of
people who voted for me and continueto support me and not assume that they're
just going to be with him.And I genuinely hope he does that.
Well, see if he does that, that's nicky Haley. Everybody's like,
(15:50):
why now she wants to be vicepresident? I think she does. He
was president and her bust and shestill does get a decent amount of votes.
He remember there's still some primaries andstuff going on. You look up
and you're like, wow, shegot a decent amount. And I think
the telling tale was Pennsylvania where it'sa swing state, and yeah, you're
(16:12):
gonna need those votes. Well, they're all they're not all Democrats. They're
not all Democrats. By the way, if I'm a Democrat, here's the
funny thing with Trump and Biden. If I'm a Democrat, I want Trump
running because that's the best chance ofwinning. And if I'm a Republican,
I want Biden there because that's thebest chance of winning. Now, I
(16:37):
think Trump will give a much betterrun to anybody else. I mean,
he's gonna he would destroy Kamala.I think it'd be a good race between
him and Gavin Newsom. But Ithink California is hot mess. So the
rest of the country's like, yeah, I don't if we want that,
and they're woke wackiness. But thatbeing said, if you flip the script
and you put Nicky against Biden,he's gonna boat race Joe Biden. If
(17:00):
you put just about anybody else, they may win forty five states. So
we'll see. You know, she'svoting fell short of a super endorsement.
A lot more on this, alot of other stuff three two, three,
four, twenty three at Chad BensonShow. It's your Twitter, your
Instagram, all of the other things. Caitlin Clark, she's white. Yeah,
(17:23):
she's pretty debatable. People are madabout that because she's got floblicity.
Talk about that. A lot ofother stuff. Chad Benson Show, The
Chad Benson Show, Independent Thoughts,Independent Life. This is Chad Benson the
(18:04):
Border Bill. Do you remember thatremember the border? We ignore the border.
Do you see that suicide rates forborder agents are through the roof because
well, they feel their job isthankless, because it is. They feel
(18:26):
that seeing dead bodies, children, all the things they're seeing, the desperation,
and there is a huge rise insuicide amongst border agents, which we're
gonna touch on a little bit laterbecause you guys know you hear me talk.
I play golf of pickleball. Avast majority of people I play pickball
(18:48):
with they're border agents. I livein an area where I'm surrounded by border
agents because I'm on the border. And the desperation, and I said this
the other day to somebody, itis not part of it is desperation because
I think they're frustrated. They thinkthey got into something. In reality is
they feel like it's just gone sidewaysand they don't even know what they're doing
(19:12):
at times because of the administration sellsthem one thing and the laws. The
other side of it is it isthe You got the desperation of what they
see out there and that they wantto do a good job, and then
you've got this kind of we're resignedto be nothing more than a ticket taker.
(19:36):
And it's a tough thing, itreally is. But they're going to
vote on a border bill. Whoare they? We all know it's going
to be dead on arrival, butstill they're going to try. The vote
allows both Republican and Democrats and theSenate an opportunity to establish themselves as tough
on border security. The vote requiresa support of at least sixty Senators to
move forward, and is expected tofail Several Republicans say the vote is a
(20:00):
political stunt by Democrats. On theflip side. Majority leader Chuck Schumer said
the vote presents lawmakers a chance toprove they are above partisanship. They're not.
I think we know that nobody anymoreis above partisanship, because partisanship at
this point in time in a dividednation is really important to raise money and
(20:22):
to show your tribal side. Itis. But this bill's dead. We
know that. Is it a badbill? Look bad bill, good bill?
And I think that we have todecide. We have to distinguish between
the reality of what's going on andwhat they need and the perception of what
(20:47):
everybody thinks they need. Yes,they need border money, more agents,
things of that nature, the securityside of it. The reality is,
though, what they want, andwhat I'm being told is they need in
enforcement tools. Because giving them morepeople and giving them more tools that you
(21:07):
think, oh, this is whatyou guys need, it ain't gonna help
them. If you tell them youcan have this tool, you can just
never use it. And that's thefrustration that so many of them are having.
Chuckie Baby's got to figure out whatto do. This was him last
night talking about the bill. Tomorrow, senators will face an important decision.
(21:29):
Will both sides come together to advancea bipartisan border security bill or partisanship getting
the way Once again, partisanship willalways get in the way. We just
said that. And by the way, not everybody's happy about this bill on
both sides. They're not. Butthis thing was da But you gotta take
that shot because that's part of thepartisanship. There were already no votes in
(21:52):
his conference, so I mean,it's just going to demonstrate that there was
no path. He knows that it'snot going to go anywhere in the House,
and so I think it's maybe amiscalculation on his part. No,
it's not. It's just part ofwhat politics is. And while everybody said,
well, it's all the Republican's faultbecause they got everything, they didn't
get everything they want. And let'slet's not forget that. The devil's always
(22:15):
in the details. And you gotto look at this thing and there's plenty
of stuff in here that isn't reallysecuring the border. Well, it's giving
them more money and the tools we'vetalked about. If you can't use those
tools and you can't enforce it.Those tools are useless. Go dig a
hole. Here's a shovel and abackco you can't use any of it.
You got to use your hands.Well that's stupid. Yeah, that's what
(22:37):
the border bills are mostly about. It's about a look and we got to
buy partisan and da da da.Until you learn to enforce those things,
it isn't going to work. Threetwo, three, five, three eight,
twenty four to twenty three at ChadBenson Show, is your Twitter tweet
at US text the program student debt? Oh yeah, let's forgive it all.
This was a funny exchange yesterday KJPbecause we're giving more people free college
(23:00):
that knew that they took out loans. And she's trying to explain why.
First of all, you've already lostthis in Supreme Court. The fact that
you're continuing to go back to itis amazing. But you made promises.
Apparently, for the four point sevenmillion Americans who have received this debt relief,
the average was thirty five thousand dollars. Their relief has been for so
I guess why don't those individuals whodidn't receive thirty five thousand dollars in debt
(23:23):
cancelation deserve a thirty five thousand dollarscheck from other Americans for what other means
they would want to use it?Well, who didn't go to college,
so they're not getting debt relief thethirty five thousand dollars that they don't get
because they didn't go We're talking aboutfolks who are in debt, who are
literally being crushed, literally being crushedbecause they took and they took, you
know, they took being crushed financially. Okay? Is that okay with you?
(23:45):
Okay? But crushed financially. Alot of people have crushed financially.
What about the person that started asmall business and is working his ass off
and he or she han't taken apaycheck in months, and they've eaten into
their savings and they're trying to fillsomething and they're employing people. They took
a different path and they're being crushedfinancially. What about that? What about
(24:06):
the person who's been crushed every dayfrom inflation financially? Do they deserve a
break? And this isn't going tohelp you with the younger kids. I
hope you know that, like Ihope you understand that Biden. This isn't
gonna help you with the younger folk. They're not on board with this,
and it's unconstitutional. What's next? Why not forgive your card debt? Why
not forget your credit cards? Whynot give people amnesty on their house payments
(24:27):
forever? There's some votes there forthat. Just ridiculous. It is good
God three two, three, five, three, eight, twenty four to
twenty three at Chad Bensons Show isyour Twitter tweet at as text the program
very interesting. Jamel Hill did ashe's a former ESPN reporter and everything is
about race with her, just intthe woke and she came out. She
(24:48):
wrote an article in the La Timesabout Caitlin Clark and it was very interesting.
The the the response by some peopleon the view, and then we'll
get to the likes of Charles Barkleyand what he had to say about a
lot of this stuff. But this, you know, the usual sunny hosts.
One of the geese that gaggle onthe view. Look, I I
(25:10):
you know, I've been a basketballfan since I can remember. I played
basketball with my dad in Harlem whenI was five years old. I remember
loving the game and the game notnecessarily loving women back right at all.
And the WNBA started in nineteen ninetysix, first games played in nineteen ninety
seven. It's twoenty and twenty fourand we're just really now talking about it.
(25:34):
And so if Caitlin Clark is thevehicle that will bring this sport that
I have loved so much and solong to little five year old girls playing
in Harlem, I say, yes, bravo. I have no problem with
that. Okay, you had noproblem with that. But with that being
(25:55):
said, I do think that thereis a thing called pretty privilege. There
is a thing called white privilege. There is a thing called tall privilege,
and we have to acknowledge that. And so the part of it is about
race, because if you think aboutthe Britney grinders of the world, you
know, why did she have togo to play and fast? They wouldn't
(26:17):
pay because they wouldn't pay. Theywouldn't pay not uncause she was black,
but because they didn't believe that inthe ws answer is part of my points.
Yet, now you know, CaitlinClark is bringing this money, these
sponsorships we hope into the league andother players will benefit from it. But
I do think that she is morerelatable to more people because she's white,
(26:41):
because she's attractive, and unfortunately, there still is that stigma of against the
LGBTQ plus community. Seventy percent ofthe WNBA is black, a third of
the players are in the LGBTQ pluscommunity, and we have to do something
about that stigma in this country.I think that people have a problem with
(27:03):
basketball playing women that are lesbians.Who cares? They are a great athletes.
Charles Barkley came out last night andhammered him, not just them.
Everybody said, you guys hate onwomen. Why are you hating on the
woman? Why are you hating onher? She's the reason you guys get
to fly into private jets now, she's the reason you get to do all
of these things. You guys arepetty. You think men are petty.
(27:23):
You guys are being so petty. We're gonna have more on this later,
but the whole white privilege lgbt yougotta throw something in there. Right with
her, She just wants to playbasketball, and let's settle down with the
pretty Okay, let's just settle downwith that. I'm gonna be honest with
you, No, okay, thereare pretty pretty girls inside of the league
(27:47):
mostly Russians and Ukrainians and stuff. But let's just be honest with the pretty
in this side of things, Okay, because it was you know, because

She went off. It's on TikToksix million views. You're gonna single
out these mfor kids, barked theunnamed woman, whose son is said to

Mama bear at the school put thatblank up. God, we gotta
back off the kids. This here'sthe thing, here's the reaction. Back
in the day, your kid wouldbe mortified, right, not want to
(30:07):
go back to school because of whatyou've done. Now, what they're going
to do is they'll probably just getrid of all of the awards. Because
one person was upset that their kiddidn't get an award. A new study
came out last month from Ohio Statetalking about practices like this helicopter parenting leads
(30:29):
to a higher risk of mental behaviorsand emotional health issues in children. Oh
it does. Yeah, And youremember the Tiger Mom. I mean she
was really popular, Amy Chua, who had books and all these things out.
She said, Look, she hasremorse because she lost her cool,
because she wanted perfection. She wouldn'tlet her kids have sleepovers or do anything
(30:52):
friends. It was push, push, push, push, push, push
push, And she says when theydidn't reach perfection what ended up happening?
She got mad at them the pressureshe put on them, and then they
rebelled. They got to a pointwhere they could say no, I don't
want to practice the piano or violinfor nine hours a day. She says,
I still believe in achieving excellence andcan bring a lot of benefits.
(31:15):
And I'm glad I instilled the senseof grit in my kids. But things
I regret more are the harsh thingsI said to them in losing my temper.
Well, this mom, she losther temper. There ain't no doubt
about that. We moved from onechaotic, crazy thing to another one.
You guys remember this great song,Smelly cat, smelly cat. What are
(31:37):
they feeding you? Smelly cat?Smelly cat? It's not your fun?
Oh yes, smelly cat. Well, there was a smelly cat, and
they want to remind everybody nine toone one it's not for smelly cat.
Well, reminder from the Atlanta PoliceDepartment. Oh here we say it again.
(31:59):
Only call nine one one when youhave a true emergency, not like
this guy who called because of aexcuse me for this perplexing problem. Just
ma'am calling them. Got the housesmelling bad now, and I'm saying something
or too about it. She's tryingto put insense in you. If it's
not getting bad, it's getting worsethan cat odor. You got that right.
(32:22):
If you're calling nine to one onebecause of cat oder, how do
you even justify that? Wash yourcat, but your cat outside, clean
the litter box. I don't knowwhat could you imagine that? Yeah?
I called nine one one because mycat smells and I don't know what to
do. While calls like that mayseem amusing, they're becoming a problem for
(32:44):
Atlanta's nine one one centers. Atlanta'sa nine one one says it handled one
point three million calls last year.Only forty five thousand were deemed serious emergencies.
Yeah, so, uh, I'malways amazed that people call nine one
one for stuff my pizza wasn't doneright. They go over all of these
things and you're just like, areyou kidding me? Yeah, that's what
(33:07):
happens. There's nothing else that youcould think that. I mean, because
it is for emergency, like alost child, or somebody's having a heart
attack, or there's a robbery inplace, or somebody's been smelly cat.
Somebody picked it up and go,hey, my cat's a little stinky.
(33:28):
I better call nine to one toone. Speaking of sticky, let's move
to Illinois. And I don't meanthat because it smells. The politics is
bad and they're more concerned about beingpolitically correct, then I don't know anything
else. Well, we don't messwith anything in terms of the term victim.
We just change offender to justice impactedindividual, justice impacted individual. It
(33:50):
might seem like a small thing.I mean, obviously changing a term can
have a positive or negative impact whenwe do that, But I would say
that over and over and we keepchanging the names for how we are referring
to those who have entered into criminalactivity. And each time we make that
change, each agency has to makethat change on every one of their documents.
(34:15):
Yeah, so, and this isthis is this is the beauty of
like, whether it's California, Illinois, New York, everybody's always worried about
the the the quote unquote person whois a perpetrator in something as also being
a victim. So it's just thisimpacted individual and this bill passed, and
(34:39):
this woman she thinks the bill stupid. But on top of that, now
we got to change everything. It'snot even just about whether or not this
is a stupid bill. Now wegot to change the font the settings on
our computers, and of course thesignatures and the wording. So right now
in the Department of Corrections, there'smultiple changes that have been made and it's
costing thousands of thousands of dollars justto do a name change. So I
(35:01):
would ask, why is it necessaryto make the name change even if the
rest of the bill was okay, which I don't think that it is.
But even if the rest of itwas okay, the name changes may seem
like a small thing, but itcosts thousands and thousands of dollars to do
that. Justice Impacted Individual, Yeah, very important. And look, I
(35:24):
think that, you know, weneed to find a way and I've said
this for years when it comes topeople that are coming out of prison,
A vast majority of people in prison, by the way, violent fenders and
what are going to get out.Helping them get into society and have a
chance for achieving and living a goodlife will reduce the recidicism rate. That
(35:47):
being said, this has nothing todo with that. This is about making
people feel good. Justice Impacted Individualthree two, three, five, three
eight, twenty four to twenty threeactch Had Denton Show's your Twitter tweet ats
text to program. A lot ofstuff to get to next hour, lots
and lots of stuff more on what'sgoing on with China and Taiwan. Is
(36:07):
that getting a little bit more tense? Oh? I think it is.
Plus we got some other groovy funstuff we'll be talking about. I promise
you that kids don't miss any showthe podcast. It is the Chad Benson
Show. This is the Chad BensonShow, Independent Thoughts, Independent Life,
(36:49):
This is Chad Benson. Well, good afternoon, Michelle so Michelle here has
a question. Michelle wants to saythat she's not picking a fight, but
she wants to know why I'm okayvoting with someone with ninety one felon accounts,
Solle. So I'm going to giveyou my answer ready, because I'm
tired. I am sick and fingtired of the way this country looks under
Democrat leadership. These femily accounts don'tmean me. You know what that means
to me. The Democrat Party justwant to get him off the campaign trail
(37:13):
because if he was really guilty ofanything, he'd be sitting in jail right
now. And then you have tokind of ask yourself, why, now,
if Donald Trump's businesses were so corrupt, how come he wasn't indicted prior
to him becoming president? Did youever ask yourself that question? No,
No, a lot of people haven't. A lot of people have not asked
themselves that question. Now, I'mnot talking about mar Lago, and I'm
not talking about the DC case, which will be decided basically on the immunity
(37:39):
side of it. But when itcomes to something, let's be honest,
when it comes to something like thisin New York, Farid Zakaria, who
cannot stand Donald Trump, said ifthis was anybody but Donald Trump, they
(37:59):
would never have been on tree outfor this. Think about that for a
second. They changed the rules toextend because of COVID. Why can't you
do the same thing for Diddy?Okay, California's very liberal want to do
that. They won't because there's nothingto do with It's all politics. Now
(38:21):
we can have a discussion about marA Lago and what went down there.
You mean they tried to kill him? Marjorie Taylor Green said they tried to.
They didn't try to kill him.She tweeted that out. They tried
to assassinate him. Now they didn't. He wasn't even there. You guys
know that, right, because someof you have hit out because I talked
about that a little bit yesterday. He wasn't there. The Secret Service had
(38:44):
already talked to the FBI. Hewasn't there. None of that stuff was
true. Many of you don't care, though, because much like the lady
there she's talking to whoever asked hera question, why would you over Trump?
Because you don't also want to knowthe truth about certain things. But
I think it's a fair quest andask why, now all of these why
didn't you do it? This thingthat happened, the Stormy Daniels thing that
(39:07):
we're talking that's two thousand and sixis when that happened, and then the
payoff game later to be which shewasn't sh So let you guys know that
continue. Ma'am. I'm sick andtired the way this country looks, Michelle
under Democrat leadership. I'm sick andtired of watching the riots in the streets.
I'm sick and tired of watching ourpublic monuments being defaced and absolutely just
(39:28):
taken down and all our history erased. I am sick and tired of the
indoctrination happening to our college kids andto our high school children and even younger.
And you know what I mean bythe crazy. I'm tired of all
of it. I am tired ofwatching over ten million people be allowed into
this country and being dropped into citiesto the point where now the cities are
having to cut back on programs thatminority communities need. Yeah, there's that
(39:51):
as well. That's what they haveto do, right, because they've all
this influx of people. And we'regoing to talk about that in a little
bit as well. She's throwing somestuff out there that seems to know why
people are frustrated, why they're frustratedwith Biden, with both parties. For
the most part, I'm frustrated withboth parties, are you yeah? Look?
(40:15):
Do I lean conservative, There's nodoubt about that. But that being
said, there's a difference between beinga conservative and having conservative ideals for libertarian
ideals that lean conservative comparatively to Republicansand Democrats. And that's what I think
people need to understand, separating thetwo is we're doing a lot of that
today, separating stuff. The ideasof both parties don't represent the people.
(40:37):
That represents quote unquote the parties becauseit's a business now, it's a monopoly.
They run everything. It's about whatdo we say first? Party first?
Most important thing is party first.Personal second. Make sure I get
in mine, and if there's anythingleft, we'll give it to the people.
Oh well more, I'm tired ofliving in a fifty year high inflation.
(41:00):
I'm tired of eight and a halfpercent interest rates. That is why
I'll be voting for Donald Trump becauseI already saw the job that Donald Trump
did, and he did a greatjob, and our economy was strong until
COVID happened, and this country isa mess, and I'm tired. I'm
tired of watching businesses being looted androbbed in broad daylight. I'm tired of
going to the grocery store and seeingeverything behind glass. I'm tired of watching
(41:21):
criminals get let right back out ofjail to go do crime again. I'm
tired, Michelle, we want torally behind that guy, the guy who
wants to put America first, nota bunch of lip service and crazy.
I'm tired. That's the way shefeels. By the way, a lot
of that stuff should be a localissue. We were talking yesterday about the
new DA in Portland. That's whydown ballot, man, I'm telling you
(41:45):
guys, down ballot matters so much. Local politics in your neighborhood, in
your county and your state is soimportant. That is the touch, if
you will, of politics that isgoing to affect you the most. Trump
is great theater. Presidents are greattheater. But it's theater for the most
(42:08):
part. Senators, all that stuff, it's a lot of its theater.
Your state senator, state congress person, you wrap on the City Council.
They have bigger movement and potential issuesto deal with that will affect you in
your life more than a lot ofthis other stuff will. So that lady
(42:30):
is obviously going to Trump. Whatabout this, lady? Trump has not
been perfect on these policies. Ihave made that clear many many times.
But Biden has been a catastrophe. So I will be voting for Trump.
Having said that, I stand bywhat I said in my suspension speech.
Trump would be smart to reach outto the millions of people who voted for
(42:54):
me and continue to support me andnot assume that they're just going to be
with him, And I genuinely hopehe does that that right there is Nikki
Haley. She's still getting votes outthere in the primary world because there's still
some primaries that are going on.Even though we know what it's over,
it's done with. She suspended hercampaign, She's still voting for Trump.
(43:17):
It's like the same thing that BillBarr says, I'm still going to vote
for Trump. Oh, why wouldyou do a lot because the alternative.
I don't like the drama, Idon't like the chaos. I don't like
the fact that sometimes he acts abit recklessly when it comes to the things
he says. But I look atthe results, and that's the way people
(43:40):
feel. The results are awful, chet they're horrible. Explain to me when
well COVID, I don't want tohear. You know, I just stop,
stop with the COVID. What aboutTell me what about well? The
you know, I mean the thingwe weren't getting any more wars, weren't
(44:04):
spending billions of dollars in other countries. And you guys know, I haven't
blamed Biden for any of the wars. I know some people out there want
to blame Biden for some of that. I can't A Moas was going to
do what Hamas did. Now,the reaction from Donald Trump with Israel would
be far different, but Amas wasgoing to do what Hamas did. I
still think Putin would have done whatPutin did. May I still do.
(44:28):
It's not one hundred percent for certain, but I still have a feeling that
that was going to happen. Onemore from Nikki Haley talking about her allies.
I put my priorities on a presidentwho's going to have the backs of
our allies and hold our enemies toaccount, who would secure the border no
more excuses a president who would supportcapitalism and freedom. So it's an endorsement.
(44:53):
Like I say, people look atit. Even Bill Barr can't stand
Trump. But the alternative is allthe things I don't believe. So I'll
hold my nose over the childish antics, over the fighting with the media and
the media. You play huge rolein this because you love it. You
love all of the fighting. Youlove the They'll do that because he's an
(45:15):
industry that gets them noticed. Soit's gonna be interesting to see what happens.
It's just a little fun right there. A lot of stuff still to
get to. Travel time, baby, are you ready to travel? Memorial
Day weekend is upon us. We'reoff remind everybody tomorrow and Monday Memorial Day.
So I want to remind everybody ofthat. Three two three, five,

(46:00):
Now they've upgraded them in ways thatare just amazing. You already know
about the incredible way that they fit, which is just an ergonomic fit in

(47:07):
Chad Benson Show. Here in California, owning a home is becoming increasingly more
difficult. For the first time, the median home price statewide is now above
nine hundred thousand dollars, according tonew data from the California Association of Realtors.
That's eleven percent more than a yearago. In northern California, Santa
Clara County, recently, the medianhome price hit two million dollars county wide.
(47:30):
Realtor Michelle Perry says low inventory isshooting up prices. The inventory is
just too low. Oh my goodnessme, that's insane. Nine hundred dollars.
I'm always amazed again. My mother, my whole family, they all
live out in California. I liveout here in Arizona Valley of the Derpub,
(47:53):
and I am shocked. I wastalking to my uncle the other day,
him and his wife my aunt, and looked at a couple homes and
they do very well for themselves. And one of the houses they look at
nothing special. Right, not alot of land, you know, three
four bedroom house. He goes, they wanted like three million dollars for it
(48:16):
because our payment would have been, you know, fifteen twenty thousand dollars a
month, and I'm like, mygod. So if you want to own
a nine hundred thousand dollars house, right, you get a thirty year fixed
mortgage, six point eight percent monthlyinterest payments and everything, everything all combined,
(48:37):
and you're gonna do twenty eight percentof your salary. You're gonna pay
about forty seven hundred dollars a month. You have to have about a two
hundred thousand dollars salary to afford ahouse that's nine hundred k. And you're
not getting a nine hundred thousand dollarshouse like you thought of when you were
(48:57):
a kid, right, You like, you're not getting one of those.
You're getting a above a lean tonot quite a shanty, but definitely not
a mansion. Maybe a pool maybe, if you're lucky, a pool.
(49:21):
Probably not, though that is insane. Three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four to twentythree Atchad Benson Show's Your Twitter tweet at
as TEXTA program off tomorrow and Monday. Monday's Memorial Day, So that means
we're hitting the roads and we're hittingthe skuys. The travel rush is officially
underway, the FAA expecting more thanfifty three thousand planes in the sky today
(49:45):
alone, the launch point for whatthe TSA says will likely be the busiest
summer on record. Wow, busyon the roads, in the skies,
everywhere people are traveling. Oh,it is a beautiful but very big morning
on the tarmac here at Laguardian.American has the busiest schedule through Memorial Day
weekend, nearly four million customers, thirty six thousand flights. And that is
(50:07):
just one airline. In fact, the TSA says, already this month they
have had four of their ten busiestdays ever. We are just getting started,
just getting started. I like itwhen they catch up with people at
the airport and places who are traveling. This is a lady named Cookie.
How's it going, Cookie, I'mready for vacation, all right? For
a holiday? Why? Why?Because I need to get away. I
(50:30):
need a vacation. Oh, Cookie, Cookie needs a vacation. Baby,
you know what I'm talking about.Tell us some more Cookie, You got
any tips? Go to bed early, get up early and get here early.
Beat the traffic, beat all thelines, beat all the lines,
beat the traffic, get your buttin bed early, get that two am
alarm clock going off, get yourselfthere. And what happens when you do
(50:52):
when you're that early? No traffic, no lines, just great, perfect
timing to get here early in themorning. Amen? Amen? Anybody else?
Pretty easy so far. I'm nottoo far into it, so we'll
see how it goes. I loveit. Three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four, twentythree act you had Benson show?
(51:12):
Is your Twitter? I am nottraveling? Answer me. Anthony said,
hey, are you doing anything?I said, you know, we're not
not do anything because I'm one ofthose weirdos that I don't want to travel
on Memorial Day. I don't wantto do any of those things. Like
if I was going to go somewhere, I was telling my family I might
come out and visit him. Isay, well, if I do,
I'm leaving after the show Thursday andI'm gonna come home Saturday. Why so
(51:35):
I don't have to fight the traffic. I don't want to fight the traffic.
I hate it. Who does it? Well? Everybody hates it,
but I just I don't need it. That's traffic is you know, It's
one of those things and it's inevitable. And I think growing up in Los
Angeles and then living in London, fra while it is just frustrating as hell.
But and I have no desire totravel in the skies this time of
(51:59):
year when you know that, youknow, I've done that a couple times.
I remember we did a we traveledacross the country like on Memorial Day
weekend because we were getting ready togo do We were gone for like a
month, and we traveled and meta bunch of our stations and we did
(52:20):
all kinds of cool stuff like that. And this was several years ago.
And I remember we got to theairport at like because we've been like an
overnight. It was like eleven o'clockon like the Thursday night before Memorial Day
weekend, and it was lax.It was a zoo, it was an
a And I'm just like, there'snothing about that that seems exciting. Are
(52:44):
you traveling this weekend? Love tohear from your three two, three,
five, three eight twenty four twentythree at Chad Benson Show. Is your
Twitter tweet at us text the program. A lot of stuff still to get
to. Washington Post going AI veryinteresting? Is it ready for primetime?
That's the one thing that you knowit's getting better. But we have seen
(53:06):
already that AI writing when it comesto news articles hasn't been great. But
they lost seventy seven million bucks andthey're like, hey, we got to
figure something out. Talk about that. A lot of other stuff to get
through. Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four,
(53:28):
twenty three at Chad Benson Show. That's your Twitter, your Instagram. Zach
Abrahm, chi investment officer from BorerCapital is going to join the program as
well. Talk about what's going onin the economy, especially as we talked
about it earlier, and maybe we'lltouch on that a little bit. People
have no idea what's going on inthe economy. Perception and reality are really
(53:51):
when it comes to the financial sideof things, especially right now, they
are so far off people and howthey perceive what is going on and the
reality of the stuff that is goingon. So we'll talk a bit about
that as well. It is theChad Benson Show, Such Chad Benson Show,
(54:35):
Independent Thoughts, Independent Life. Thisis Chad Benson. They're voting on
the border bill today. The borderis still a mess. We know that
suicide rate amongst border agents is upan alarming rate, and they vote on
the bill that won't pass, hasno chance. But what is going on
(54:58):
actually at the border? Take alook at this. We met up with
a local resident out here, CoreyGoceuro. He's former US military. He
goes out and he collects all ofthese discarded passports and ID cards from these
illegal immigrants from all around the worldas they cross here in the Hakamba area.
He's got an entire room full ofthem. You'll see passports, IDs
(55:19):
from China, Afghanistan, Pakistan,Saudi Arabia, Turkey, many others.
Yeah, there's a lot of passportsout there. Why are you burning a
passport when you cross over? Thatto me is a little scary, especially
when you're from places that maybe don'thave a belief in love of Western values.
(55:43):
Maybe you've done something wrong somewhere elseand you want to do everything you
can't do hide who you are, continue sir. So you'll notice many of
them are burned or shredded or destroyedin some way as these illegal aliens try
to destroy some of these documents assoon as they are here in the United
States, trying to hide who theyare and where they've been and go to
(56:05):
Roe. Says that is a securityconcern. They're just dropping this stuff on
the ground to come here and assumea new identity. So that's a little
bit scary. With my military backgroundand seeing the people that are coming across
that male mail mail. These areall military age males. People keep saying
that I've got the proof right here. Nobody cares, and that's you know,
we talk about abe. We're goingto get to the economy in a
(56:25):
minute. Nothing really going on withabortion right now, but the border and
the one thing that I think couldovertake the economy because we get fixated on
something. Obviously, the border issueis massive. We understand that, and
there's a debate on how we goabout doing it. We were talking earlier,
you know, I talked to borderagents all the time. Giving the
(56:45):
Biden administration more tools means very littleto the border agents, as if expressed
to me, if you're not goingto allow people that are down there doing
everything they can to stop this toactually use the tools. But that one
(57:07):
black Swan event that one issue couldbe could you imagine if they trace back
somebody that they catch, found outhe came here, got through our system,
threw away his passport, whatever, met up with a bunch of other
people did the exact same thing, and it was all under this president's watch.
News for you at that point intime, Bye bye Biden. I
(57:29):
don't care what happens at the economy. I don't one more. We talked
to these guys. There was nota single one of them from Mexico.
Where you guys from what country?Fun? Just to Pakistan, India,
India, Turkey, Yeah, Turkey. Where you guys from Turkey? Turkey,
Turkey? Where you guys from China, China, Ecuador, India,
India, India, India, India, Iran, Iran, Iran? Why'd
(57:52):
you come? No freedom? Nofreedom? Yes, and Iran Iran is
a venturous contry. No freedom forus speak for right or tinging, Yeah,
there's no freedom. I think werecognize that there is absolutely no freedom
in some of those countries. Atthe same time, that's what you would
say if you're coming here and you'repotentially going to do something horrible and to
(58:16):
say that, oh, chat, are you saying everybody that comes here.
No, no, but that's wherepeople go because it's an either or it's
either everybody that comes here is gonnakill us all and it's all criminals,
which is not true, and youneed to know that it's not. And
many of them are more patriotic andlove this country more than a lot of
(58:36):
people that are here now on theother side of it. To say that
nobody that crosses the border illegally wouldwant to do us harm because we feel
like they're all good is a bunchbs. I worry more about the god
aways in that situation than I thinka lot of other people do, because
(58:57):
if you're getting away, there's are you're dropping your passport and or burning
it and running. If you're thatserious about hiding your identity, that does
make me think something like maybe you'reup to no good three two, three,
five, three eight, twenty four, twenty three act you have beds
and show to Twitter, Instagram allof the things. How well do you
(59:21):
know the economy? New poll outsays not very well. A new poll
shows the majority of Americans think theUS is in a recession. By any
objective or fair measure, we arenot. They also believe the stock market
is down again. We are not. The stock market is way up.
They believe unemployment is at a fiftyyear high. The data shows well,
(59:44):
unemployment at a near fifty year low. There is a huge disconnect right now
in America when it comes to thedata between reality and perception, and there
is a massive, massive disc andit's there's a reason for that. And
the reason is the difference between perceptionand reality. Okay, and the reality
(01:00:10):
is twofold. You have your realityas an employer employee where you work,
things are probably okay. Business isgoing all right, those things are happening
that feel good about. Hey,my business, and everything's going good.
We're busy, we got work, paychecks are coming. The other reality,
(01:00:34):
which gives this perception that all ofthe economy is bad is when you take
that hat off, the hat ofemployer employee and you put on your consumer
hat, and the consumer hat says, sweet, mother of God, everything's
so damn expensive. I can't affordto do the things I used to.
(01:00:58):
I can't afford life away from me. So the perception is everything is bad.
In reality, some of the newsis pretty damn good. But the
news is the consumer, the mother, the father, the breadwinner. They're
putting food on the table, allthat that stuff in the reality world.
(01:01:19):
It's a kick in the grundle. This is a former banker when Colemens's name
talking about, Hey, you knowwhat, we got the perception reality thing.
You know what's up with that?It used to matter a lot.
We used to have faith in thestatistics that we heard. We used to
have faith in the media that reportedthe statistics that we were told. You
(01:01:45):
know, now everything is subject todebate, everything is subject to interpretation,
everything is subject to opinion. Andsocial media, of course, has filled
a constant barat of opposing realities andalternate realities. And of course you have
(01:02:05):
you know, Donald Trump leading theway saying that you know, the stock
market is up because people are anticipatinghis return to the White House, which
is you know, ridiculous. Youknow, he's probably saying all those things
that half the country you are believing, and we know that the country is
extremely polarized. So this is theresult that you get. Yes, some
(01:02:29):
of that is true. I'm notgoing to deny that. I mean,
because if you're not in power, you want to be in power. Welcome
to the world of politics, nobody'sgoing to run a campaign, was like,
the other guy's doing great. Imean, honestly, I don't think
I can do any You're not goingto do that. You're not so that
that just isn't going to happen. But I think he the banker here,
(01:02:52):
Wim Cohen, is a little toodismissive of the reality of the cost of
life. Great, the wead afifty year unemployment low. Great, that
our stock markets to the roof. But as Biden bragged about it the other
day, Trump reminded him when hebragged about the stock market, Biden wanted
(01:03:12):
to remind him, Hey, guesswhat, most people don't live in the
stock market, and there's a differencebetween Main Street and Wall Street. We
recognize that the reality hits you whenyou become the consumer continue, but the
reality is then economy is doing great. Unemployment is a fifty year low,
(01:03:34):
the stock markets at an all timehigh, and the bond market is actually
investible for the first time in aboutfifteen years. Yeah, that's great.
Again, how many of you areinvesting in bonds at this moment? As
as your income, Like if you'rea day trader and you're a trader that's
what you're for living. Then you'reloving every second of this. But if
your retirement, we're gonna talk toour buddy Zach Abraham coming up here in
(01:03:58):
a bit about this, this reportand what's going on and separating you know,
facts and perception reality. The numberstell you, yes, the economy's
good from the employer employee business side. The consumer side tells you something else,
and I think that gets dismissed. And that's why I say there is
(01:04:21):
two forms of this economy. Oneis employee employer. My business life is
good when it comes to that.Take that hat off, put on the
consumer, buying groceries, taking thekids out to do stuff, paying for
school support, whatever it is thatis so damn expensive. And that's the
difference perception and reality. Yes,I get that the economy is good in
(01:04:45):
some areas, but the consumer sideof it is where you get kicked in
the grundle, and that matters.Three two, three, five, three
eight, twenty four to twenty three. Atch had been to show that's your

Are you so bid? It's nota great way to use your white
privilege. Some people got it,some people don't. You're listening to the
Chad Fencing show. Set time ofthe week. We sit down and we
(01:06:58):
talk about doock market, the financialworld, the economy as a whole.
He's a friend of the show, sponsored the show. Zach Abram, chief
investment Officer, Board Captain, joinsthe program. Let's talk about the state
of the economy. Because I sawthis thing, Zach that I think would
probably make you laugh. And Iknow if you saw the most Americans have
no idea what the economy is doing. They think unemployments at a fifty year
high. Half of America thinks thatthey think that the stock market is actually
(01:07:21):
collapsing because the economy and the stockmarket are two separate things, and I
don't think people understand that they certainlyare two separate things, and Greg now
Is are probably a pretty good illustrationof that, and I think that there's
just a lot of misunderstanding about theterminologies. What the other part of it
is, too, is you know, of course the media is going to
(01:07:42):
be talking about a Biden economy fardifferently than they would have a Trump economy.
So if there's any metrics there thatthey can justify to say that it's
a strong economy, they're going todo that. And so when they talk
about a strong economy, what they'rereferring to is just GDP growth, Right,
it's right now, you're clipping aroundthree to three and a half percent.
Historically that's i'd say average to good. But in this environment, you've
(01:08:09):
got to put it in the contextof how much government spending is going on.
Right, So you've got you're runningdeficits between six to seven percent of
the entire size of the economy, and so when you look at it in
that light, the actual growth doesn'tlook that great. Meaning, you know,
you go go back and look atthe last time the country was running
deficits this size. It was duringWorld War Two GDP was cranking along a
(01:08:31):
lot higher than three percent. Andthat's just that really is just a product
of how much debt we've accrued overthe last you know, especially the last
fifteen years. Meaning the more debtyou get, the more debt you build
up in a system, it's goingto inhibit growth, right, and for
obvious reasons. You know, whensomebody's got a mortgage that's you know,
(01:08:51):
thirty thirty five percent of their annualor their monthly income, when they've got
a twelve hundred dollars car payment, right, the more of those things that
they rack up, obviously, theless disposable income is. So there's going
to be weaker growth. So onan average basis, looking at historical averages
over the last forty years, it'sthree to three and a half percent growth
considered strong. Yes, unemployment ratethree point nine percent is that considered good?
(01:09:15):
Yes? But the question I thinkthat we should be asking ourselves is
do those numbers look good considering theabsolute deluge of government spending. Not really,
And it shouldn't be a surprise toanybody just because that debt build up
stock markets at all time highs. Why is that because everything's great. No.
Once again, when the government ishemorrhaging money like that, you're just
(01:09:36):
going to see asset price inflation. And this is why our attitude has been
looked. Bad things can happen. But when a government is just resolute to
print over every single problem and spendat insane levels like we currently are and
have been for some time, it'sjust going to be really hard to see
the market drop in a sustained mannerin a big way. Now, does
(01:09:59):
that mean it can't happen? No? Right now, you're looking at a
lot of things that would be consideredpre recessionary, and you know there's a
lot of potential issues and pitfalls outthere, But this really is just about
strong economy, low unemployment, allof that. It's just about the deficits.
You are spending so much that itis almost impossible to see a lot
of those metrics go down significantly justbecause you're just spending. You're just spending
(01:10:24):
that much money. Crazy. Talkingto Zach A. Brahm, chief investment
officer at Boward Capital, when peoplecome to you like they ask you,
Hey, what's the one area thatyou think is going to take a hit
between maybe now and the end ofthe year. Obviously inflation is on the
top of their minds. But ironically, I think a lot of people that
come to us, I think alot of people are concerned about economic collaps
(01:10:45):
I understand that, but people needto realize that they're staring in the wrong
direction. Economic collapse is the waythat we think about it is deflation,
meaning asset price is dropping and therelative value of our own currency, the
dollar, rising in comparison to assetprices. That's what we saw on OAIT
(01:11:08):
nine. That's what the Great Depressionwas all about, and so that's what
we've experienced. In an inflationary environment, it's a lot different because it'll catch
people off guard, meaning they'll sitthere and go, well, hey,
I haven't lost everything. For thelast three years. We've just kind of
bounced around, but I've been hangingin even which is kind of where we're
at over the last two and ahalf years. Honestly, stock market's up
(01:11:30):
nine ten percent in the last twoand a half years, But what is
the cost of living done over thatsame period of time? Right it's going
up at about what is it rightnow? About a four or five percent
clip. So that's one of thestealth dangers of inflation is that over time,
you're not going to notice it becauseyou may not see a big drop
in your stock portfolio. But ifyour stock portfolio is not appreciating at the
(01:11:53):
same pace that inflation is rising, then you're losing ground. And that's that
kind of stealth problem that we see. I don't think enough people are paying
attention to it. Absolutely. Hisname is Zach Abraham, Chief investment Officer

This is Chad Benson. Small actsof kindness that are mostly domestic labor
just add up to work at theend of the day. So here's a
list of things that I don't dofor my husband. I don't do his
laundry. He can do that himself. I do my laundry and we do
the kid's laundry, but he doeshis own. I don't cook dinner.
He cooks dinner every single night.I do breakfast and lunch for us and
our kids. I don't pack himat lunch. If he's hungry, He'll
(01:13:45):
figure out what he's going to eatfor lunch the same way that I do.
I don't make his doctor's appointments becauseguess what he's not making mine.
Would it be kind of me todo that? For sure? Is it
my job. Absolutely not. Iwant him to be healthy. But he's
a grown ass man and he givebook his own appointments. Right. She's
fun. Apparently she's not a fanof Harrison Fucker the Kicker. I don't
(01:14:08):
do any of that stuff. I'mnot doing anything. We're partners, and
by partners, you do all yourown stuff. I'll do all mine.
When you listen to her, you'rethinking, what's what's your was it acts
of kindness? Right? Time together? Right? Those things? Those lessons
that you learn, what's your lovelanguage? Hers is not being well?
(01:14:30):
You know, we want to bepartners in this. Right, We're fifty
to fifty. Little handshake, poorspit on the hand. Continue, man,
you sound fun. There's a lotof things that I don't do for
my husband. I don't schedule hishaircuts. I don't pack his clothes for
vacation. I don't buy him newunderwear when it's got holes in it.
All of those are things that he'sa grown man and he can do himself.
(01:14:51):
Can I do small acts of kindnessfor him? Of course I can,
and I do. I see avinyl that I think he's gonna like,
because he's creating a vinyl collection.I buy it. I'm at the
store and I see some that Ithink he might enjoy eating, I buy
it. I find a new nonalcoholic beer that he wants to try out,
I buy it. Right, thoseare small acts of kindness. Doing
his laundry, cooking him dinner, making him lunch, booking his doctor's appointments,
(01:15:11):
all those things. That's domestic labor. That's domestic labor. So if
he mows the lawn, is thatdomestic labor? How does that work?
Do you like? All? Right? You mowed the front, I'll mow
the back. Continue. It isnot my job as a wife. It
is not in my job description todo all the domestic labor as small acts
(01:15:33):
of kindness to my partner and receivenothing in return. Oftentimes, domestic labor,
especially when you have children, addup and so, No, I
am not my husband's personal secretary orhis personal assistant. I am none of
those things. I am his partner. I am his equal, and I
do not have to do things tocater to him and serve him at all
times to be kind and loving forhim. Okay, you again sound like
(01:15:54):
you're sound like you have a solidrelationship. Couldn't reach Jim because he's not
allowed to talk on the phone.Oh good God, just again, I
look at this and I think tomyself, you know, because people ask
(01:16:15):
me because my wife stays at home. Oh, say she doesn't have a
job. No, she's got likea freaking super important job mother wife.
That being said again, I listenedto that, and I think, is
that is that? Is that wherewe are now? Like you just want
to push. I just want everybodyto know. I don't do these things,
no acts of kindness unless I feellike doing it. And I'm like,
(01:16:36):
I listened that. I thought tomyself, geez, no, wonder
guys are waiting for AI to takeover so the robots can do it.
No, you know what guys willdo for themselves. I have newsfeed lades.
I'm gonna let you know a something. We'd be all right, We're
gonna be fine. We're gonna befine. Right. If you weren't here
(01:16:57):
with me, the world would fallapart on you. That wouldn't well,
I'll be all right. But mywife most important jobs with the kids,
and now I share in that. We're partnership. And it's not fifty to
fifty some days, it's ninety percentthe other person's got to pick up other
days. It flips around. That'sa relationship. It's a partnership. You
(01:17:24):
know, when I played sports towhere somebody and I've noticed only children are
kind of like this and people whodidn't have athletics and a team environment.
Right, because you'll go out andyou your team may lose a game,
but you played amazing, you wereincredible, but other people let you down
(01:17:46):
that day. You did everything youcould, you did and they let you
down. And it could be thatyour team won and you let everybody else
down. You didn't play well. Not everybody's always on the samee. It's
it's a give and take that rightthere was you know, we're each doing
fifty percent and we're going to measureit. I wonder if she's got a
memory about something that happened twelve yearsago. I bet she does. Three
two, three, five, three, eight, twenty four to twenty three

external forces steer clear of any interferenceor provocation. China's Eastern Theater Command is
combining land, naval, and airelements in the large maneuvers. Yeah,
some sort of punishment, they're callingit. So they've surrounded Taiwan and they're
(01:18:51):
doing all of this stuff. Taiwan'sgot any president. It was just sworn
in. He's very much. Weare our own nation. We have nothing
to do with you, guys.We will govern ourselves. You stay over
there. And China's like, well, we're gonna flex our muscles and we're
also going to show everybody else outthere, Hey, don't mess with us.
This is our issue. This isour And we've got a president that
(01:19:11):
has flip flopped when it comes tothe support that for Israel right on more
than a few occasions. He saidall kinds of different things, juxtaposed himself,
contradicting himself. Let me juxtapost myposition on this. We're going to
help you one percent. No,we're not. Hey, you got to
(01:19:33):
get rid of hamas you better notgo into Rafa. And if I'm China,
I'm looking around going, yeah, let's see what this guy might do.
But the new president of Taiwan's allsuck at China, not here,
not today. China can't afford andeverybody thinks, oh, they're gonna do
it. This is it, thiswill be the time. China can't afford
(01:19:57):
to financially. They could not afforda war, a war with Taiwan.
The world turns on them. They'regonna bankrupt themselves and it's gonna be anyma.
They cannot afford it. They can't. They're flexing their muscles. They're
(01:20:19):
trying to show off. They're tryingto bully, and Taiwan knows, hey,
we'll defend ourselves and we'll probably lose, but what you'll get is an
island that is uninhabitable and you're goingto lose out on the chips and all
the things you need to move forward. But it doesn't mean they're not threatening.

about Korea body shaming. But youknow, one of the things you know
they're blaming. It's this thing, you know, this all you can eat
(01:21:02):
thing that they made permanent. Itused to be like a seasonal thing.
All you can eat shrimp. It'snot the whole story. The reality is
much different. You see, whenyou go corporate like they have, and
you've got corporate masters, they maywant the land for something else and driving
(01:21:24):
what yeah, driving you out ofbusiness to get that land is a good
deal. So yes, let metell you something. All you can eat
shrimp. That did not help. They lost eleven million bucks on them.
But the land was more important toa lot of these people. They were
being charged ridiculous overpriced rates at atime when you can get rates for restaurants
(01:21:51):
and commercial businesses so cheap, andthey were getting charged well above old school
market rates. Well, Gluttney wasa part of the issue. There was
a lot of other stuff that wentinto the financing deal by a company called
Golden Gate and tai Union. Accordingto one of the filings, and insinuates
(01:22:16):
pressured the company into burdensome supply obligationsthat had little to do with restaurants actual

Now it's time to find out what'strending. What's trending? James Norway,
(01:24:11):
Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Serena, what trupping? Let's find
out what was trending on the interwebson this Thursday. Where should we start?
How about Yahoo? Inside the NBA. Everybody likes that show. When's
(01:24:34):
Emmy, He's got Barkley and Shaqand and and Ernie and everybody. Well,
here's the thing, media rights mayIn the show, there's a battle
with t and T the media rights. Is it going to end the show?
Don't know. I don't know. But we played some stuff earlier from
Charles Barkley last night talking about KaitlynClark. Maybe we'll do that again here
(01:24:56):
in a little bit, because Ithought that was rather entertaining. The whole
Kaitlyn Clark thing is still blo goingup and the view had their thought.
Sonny Houstin gaggled her way through athought based on something that Jimmel Hill wrote
in the La Times. We talkabout that in a little bit as well.
Let's see here Amanda Balionis, whois a golf commentator. She does
(01:25:23):
all the interviews. Apparently there's alot of rumors that her and Rory are
sparking some love relationship. Chicago Fire, Singapore Airlines, Iowa Tornado, and
Nvidia, Donald Trump all trending. That's Yahoo. Let's head over to the
magical world of Google. Timberwolves, number one training thing, Europa League in
Nvidia, stock Leverkusen, Kate Middleton, Nicki Haley talk about that in a
(01:25:48):
little bit. Iran President helicopter craftstill trending. Guess they're getting ready to
bury him. Oh, that's ashame. It's not very nice hit.
I'm just throwing it out there. And finally over to the magical world of
Twitter. Kyrie Irving Survivor forty six, Nikki Haley, James Comey, Adamola
(01:26:15):
Lukman who he's soccer player. YesterdayEuropa League one of the European Cups.
He scored three goals in a win. Thriller from Michael Jackson. Trending.
Don't know why, I probably shouldNorway. Norway is starting to how should
we say this? Restrict people comingthere? What? Yeah? Yeah,
(01:26:38):
a lot of these Scandinavian countries havesaid, yeah, we've had enough immigration
here. This is not good, this is not this is not a good
thing, and so they're starting torestrict immigration. The Reich is trending.
Is it because he's a Nazi?Of course, that's what many people think.
Trump's a Nazi. It's just easierto say that, right, makes
(01:26:59):
everybody feel good again, Those aresome of the things trending. Nikki Haley
obviously a big story yesterday. Whyis that because she came out and basically
said, hey, look here's thedeal. Because everybody's like, is she
running to be vice president? Whynow is she coming out talking about Trump,
is she feels like she's not relevantanymore, et cetera, et cetera.
(01:27:20):
I've said this. I saw somepeople, Supana say she's fighting for
her political life. I don't thinkshe cares about the politics anymore. She's
gonna go off, make a lotof money, be a CEO of some
company. I don't think it's aboutthe politics. But she's still getting you
know, fifteen to twenty percent ofthe vote in some areas because there's still
primaries going on. Trump has notbeen perfect on these policies. I've made
(01:27:43):
that clear many many times. ButBiden has been a catastrophe. So I
will be voting for Trump. Havingsaid that, I stand by what I
said in my suspension speech. Trumpwould be smart to reach out to the
millions of people who voted for meand continue to support me and not assume
(01:28:03):
that they're just going to be withhim. And I genuinely hope he does
that. Yeah, I mean Idon't know if he will. And you
know, look here's like even whento look at Poles, I've always said
this, buyers are liars. They'lltell you one thing and do another.
They'll feel like they want to makea change or they feel like something,
and then sometimes they just at thelast moment. But she still has a
(01:28:28):
group of people they're They're not allDemocrats, They're not There is a decent
amount that are Republicans that don't wantthe chaos that comes with Trump. It's
not Trump's policies. And I've saidthat over and over and for the most
part, by the way, forall of the people out there, and
you know, we have to separate. There's a difference between you know,
people call rhinos. Now there's conservativeswho are fiscally much different in a way
(01:28:53):
that you would see who aren't populist. And I think she has a decent
amount of those people. But she'sgoing to vote for Trump because in her
mind, it's the lesser of twoevils. I put my priorities on a
president who's going to have the backsof our allies and hold our enemies to
account, who would secure the borderno more excuses, a president who would
(01:29:15):
support capitalism and freedom. I mean, that's that is Trump. Again.
So much of the stuff that whenwe talk about Trump, it has very
little to do with policy, andpartly because I just think we need to
be entertained all the time now,and the media knows that that's going to
rile up their base on either side, and watching Trump fight brings them eyeballs,
(01:29:38):
clicks, shares, likes, thingsof that nature. It's going to
be very interesting. But I've sawa lot of people out there going she's
trying to be vice president. Idon't think she is. Maybe I'm wrong.
I don't think she is. Ithink she'd be happy being a CEO
of a company, running a collegesomewhere, living in the world of you
know, half a million of milliondollars a year and getting fifty thousand dollars
(01:30:00):

Benson. Harrison Butker is a kicker, probably the most famous kicker in the
NFL. Not because he's a kicker, but because he said something something that
really was nothing, but it becamecontroversy for a lot of people out there
in the media. Loved it becauseit has an opportunity to pit people who
have traditional ideas and who are religiousagainst the secular world and the average person
(01:31:33):
who you know, lives in atime that he's more modern and hit been
cool. It got to the pointnow where his teammates are having to answer
questions about what he said. PatMahomes, I'm no Harrison. I've known
him for seven years. I judgehim by the character that he shows every
single day, and that's a goodperson. That's someone who cares about the
(01:31:57):
people around him, cares about hisfamily, only wants to make a impact
in society. When you're in thelocker room, there's a lot of people
from a lot of different areas oflife, and they have a lot of
different views on everything, and we'renot always going to agree. There's certain
things that he said that I don'tnecessarily agree with, but I understand the
person that he is and he's tryingto do whatever he can to lead people
in the right duration and that mightnot be the same values as I have.
(01:32:17):
But at the same time, I'mgoing to judge him by the character
that he shows every single day. That's a great person. And sorry,
you can't do that, and you'renot allowed to. You must take a
stand, you must disagree. Intoday's society, it gets everything he said
everything. Yeah, that's what guysdo. What makes the locker room so
cool is you're able to have thosediscussions and become better and make those decisions
(01:32:39):
for yourself. And so even thoughthey're very vast, I guess differences as
far as those speeches happen. Atthe same time, I mean out,
you're able to talk to guys andyou get knowledge and you make your own
decisions at the end of the day. And I think that's what makes this
country so great, is that you'reable to get as much knowledge as you
can and then you make your owndecisions. And it gets a little divisive
(01:32:59):
sometimes when you to social media andyou get to outside the building, but
in the building you can have thosehealthy discussions and still be friends at the
end of the day, even thoughyou might not agree with the exactly the
same things. A Good Times mustanswer questions, not just Patrick Mahomes coach
Andy Reid's got to answer questions tooabout it. The guys are good with
that. They understand, I mean, they understand how things work. I
(01:33:20):
mean, everybody's got their own opinion. We're a microcosm of life. Everybody
from different areas, different religions, different races. We all get along.
We all respect each other's, youknow, opinions, and not necessarily do
we go buy those, but weyou know, we respect everybody to have
a voice. It's a great thingabout America then, and and we're just,
(01:33:43):
like I said, a microcosm ofthat. And I wish, you
know, my wish is that youknow, everybody could kind of follow that.
No they can't, because again, the media likes the fight. He
said something divisive and it wasn't evenWhoopy Goldberg stood up for her, said
he's got every right to say whathe said. He didn't say anything horrible
(01:34:04):
and He didn't say, oh,women need to be struck in the kitchen.
He believes marriages between a man anda woman only Mother of God,
he said, none of those things. None of those do. I agree
with everything he said now, Butdo I think it's super controversial? It
isn't. It isn't. Again,in today's world, they find a reason
(01:34:25):
to fight about everything. You guysknow Caitlyn clarkuse, of course you do.
She's the greatest basketball player of alltime, according to everybody in the
history of the world. Whoopy Goldberg. Let's talk about Caitlyn Clark because she's
the breakout star of the WNBA rightnow, with the highest salary in league
history. Yeah, and a twentyeight million dollar endorsement deal from Nike.
(01:34:47):
And in a new article in theLa Times about her success, sports journalist
Jamel Hill compares Clark to Steff Coreyfor being relatable to fans. Is the
fact that she's a straight white womanplays a big role in the hype around
her. Is not the numbers thatshe puts on the scoreboard. So I
(01:35:09):
just I want to point something out. I'm gonna point something out to you
as well. She's not the highestpaid salary. Ever, they get slotted
into a thing, just like theNBA. You get slotted into what you
get. There's a rookie contract, that's what she gets. She's making tons
of money outside of there. ButJamal Hill wants to bring up, Hey,
she's white. That's the only reasonthat she is who she is,
(01:35:30):
and that's the only reason she's gotwhat she's got is because she's a straight
white woman. She is the NCAA'sall time leading scorer of men and women.
In February, she broke the woman'srecord. In March, she broke
Pistol Pete Maravich's three thousand, sixhundred and sixty seven point record. She's
had more thirty point games than anyonein the past twenty five years. Yeah,
(01:35:57):
okay, she holds this same wholeseason three point record for women.
She's the Big Tens all time leaderand assist. She's great. She beat
Pistol Pete. Yeah, kind ofsorta. When Pistol Pete played, you
weren't allowed to play in the varsityteam if you're a freshmen. He so
(01:36:17):
he only played three seasons. Therewas no there was no three point range.
There's no three point shot back then. It's going to point that out.
People forget that, and she's broughtthat up. By the way.
That's what I like about Caitlin. She she's humble and recognizes this. And
if you really want to know pistolPete, you ready for his years.
(01:36:39):
He averaged forty three point eight pointsone year, forty four point two the
next. Had he played during thethree point era, Dale Brown, coach
at LSU, went and looked atall of pistol Pete's games from where he
shot. Had he played in thethree point era, he would have averaged
(01:37:00):
almost sixty points a game. Soshouldn't diminish anything. This wasn't about Pistol
Pete. This wasn't about any ofthis stuff us versus damn no, no,
no, no no. This isabout Jammel Hill saying she only gets
these things because she's white, period, case clothes, sunny Houston. With
that being said, I do thinkthat there is a thing called pretty privilege.
(01:37:25):
There is a thing called white privilege. There is a thing called tall
privilege, and we have to acknowledgethat. And so the part of it
is about race, because if youthink about the Britney grinders of the world,
you know, why did she haveto go to play and enos they
wouldn't pay because they wouldn't pay this. They wouldn't pay not because she was
(01:37:45):
black, but because they didn't believethat in the WNB. Answer is part
of my points. Yet, nowyou know Caitlin Clark is bringing this money,
these sponsorships, we hope into theleague and other players will benefit from
it. But I do think thatshe is more relatable to more people because
she's white, because she's attractive, and let's settle down on the attractive.
(01:38:09):
Okay, settle down a lot ofthose things. Is there pretty privilege in
everything in life? Is there whiteprivilege? Normally not in basketball? No,
normally not in basketball. But thehater's gonna hate last night Charles Barkley
about this. You women out there, y'all, Penny man Hey, Lebron,
(01:38:32):
you one hundred percent right on.These girls hate known Caitlin Clark.
Y'all petty girls. I'spect being tobe petty cause we're the most insecret group
in the world. You are,y'all should be taking that girl forgetting y'all
ass private charters? Oh the moneyand vis a village? Does she bring
into the JETI NBA. Don't bepetty like dudes. Listen what she's accomplished.
(01:38:56):
God Flowers, don't be petty? Are you women out there? She
got y'all ass shot us. Shebringing all y'all is money to the table
for y'all being petty like dudes.Prime you a one hundred percent right,
y'all, girls, Stop being petty. Caana Clark, thank you for bringing
all that money and she shine tothe WNBA. There you go, Stop
(01:39:18):
being petty. They can't be.Whoopy wants to remind everybody how much they
have pushed the WNBA. You knowthis because we've done this, We've tried
to do this together. Hold ona second with this, Yeah, yeah,
yeah, because we have been tryingto bring attention to a w's NBA
(01:39:38):
four years. Really, Bill Burr, what do you think about that women
failed the WNBA? Ladies, ladies, name your top five all time WNBA
players of all time? Cork,Name five WNBA team named a WNBBA team
in your city. You can't doit. You don't give up about them.
(01:40:02):

e. The Chat Benson Show.Welcome to Korea, where body shaming is
(01:41:30):
very open and public. So thisis a structure installed by the local health
authority. The science says, yourbelly fat can change, so you pest
through these gaps to measure your bellyfat. So we have skinny, slim,
standard, chubby fat. And thisliterally says you're in trouble. For
me, I failed standard and Ipassed chubby some chubby. That is if
(01:41:59):
you've not seen like some of thereels or tiktoks or whatever where they're in
places like Korea and Japan, andthe names of some of the stores in
the way that you treat people thatare a little bit bigger or bigger.
Indeed, oh my goodness, youneed to pay attention to that. I
mean, you know, look,we just ate Red Lobster out of business,
(01:42:21):
and Buffalo Wild Wings says, holdmy beer if you didn't see that,
Buffalo Wild Wings for twenty bucks allyou can eat, I think Monday
and Wednesdays fries and wings. Andthen they tweeted after announcing the all you
can eat wings and fries for twentybucks, please don't bankrupt us. Oh
my goodness, me Red lobster. It was shuddering one hundred stores and restaurants
(01:42:45):
in twenty seven states, and thecompanies blamed the endless shrimp deal, which
has been a once a year fixtureuntil it was main permanent in twenty twenty
three, not realizing America can eatand in Korea, well, they want
to make sure that you know,if you're fat, they're gonna tell you.
Oh, that's not very nice.Hey, it's Morial Day weekend again.
We're off tomorrow and Monday. Travelgonna be busy. What about for
(01:43:05):
dogs? A charter flight leaves thisafternoon from New York's Westchester Airport bound for
LA's Van Nice Airport, but onlyabout half on board may know they're making
history. They'll be on the inauguralflight of bark Air, which calls itself
the world's first airline for dogs, offering white pause service with custom beds along
with chewies and dog friendly beverages ofchoice. You won't pay kibbl for this
(01:43:29):
trip, though, a one wayticket for a dog and their human is
six thousand dollars. What the hellare you guys doing? You know,
we'll just travel the old fashioned way. Well drive, maybe we are expecting
a record number of people flying, but former folks will be hitting the roads.
Thirty eight point four million people, according to Triple A, gonna be
traveling by car through Memorial Day.That is the highest number since they even
(01:43:49):
started tracking back in two thousand anda four percent jump from just last year.
Four percent jump from last year. There we go. We're in the
travel time of the year. It'sthe best time. The heavy congestion we
know is already getting underway. ButI do want to talk about the best
times of the worst Sunday to hitthe roads. The worst traffic that's going
to be from noon to six today, Tomorrow, from noon to seven,
(01:44:11):
and then the bulk of the afternoonSaturday, Sunday Monday. The best time
to avoid a slowdown will be beforeeleven am or late in the evening,
So be sure to plan ahead andespecially try to leave then if that fits
your travel schedule. I'll do that. Oh wait, I'm not going anywhere
because I don't do that stuff.Talked about it earlier, just not my
jam and I want to travel onthe traveling season. It drives me crazy.
(01:44:31):
And if I do. I thoughtabout seeing my family. I said,
look, if I come out forthe weekend. I'm leaving on Thursday
midday and I'm probably gonna bounce Saturday, most likely Sunday morning at the latest,
and I mean early, because ijust don't want to fight the traffic,
cause it just takes away the joyof the travel. What about flying?
(01:44:54):
It is a beautiful but very busymorning on the tarmac here at Laguardi.
American has the busiest schedule through MemorialDay week again, nearly four million
customers, thirty six thousand flights, and that is just one airline. In
fact, the TSA says already thismonth they have had four of their ten
busiest days ever. And we arejust getting started, just getting started.
(01:45:14):
It's going to be so busy outthere. Gas prices krat nor either or
not? No, Well, hereleased all those gas. No, that
didn't do anything? Was that likean hour's worth of gas in America?
There's million gallons of gas that hereleased. Good God, we'll see several
over three million passenger days across theentire four hundred and thirty airports that are
in the United States. That's apretty big increase from last year, and
(01:45:36):
last year was a really big increasefrom the year before. So record volumes
without question record volumes without questions. So be safe out there, everybody.
One of the other big stories NikkiHaley yesterday. Trump has not been perfect
on these policies. I've made thatclear many, many times. But Biden
(01:45:57):
has been a catastrophe. So Iwill be voting for Trump. Having said
that, I stand by what Isaid in my suspension speech. Trump would
be smart to reach out to themillions of people who voted for me and
continue to support me, and notassume that they're just going to be with
him. And I genuinely hope hedoes that. We'll see if he does
(01:46:19):
or doesn't do that for people outthere. We heard even Bill mar said
earlier this week that a lot ofRepublicans tell him, Look, we don't
like the guy either, but he'sbetter than the alternative, and we like
the policies. But getting past thealternative is tough because the media enjoys it.
I don't how many times I'll tellyou, guys, the media lives
for this stuff because he's entertainment. And we and now in the low information
(01:46:45):
world, in the surface information world, in the world where information, if
even if it's good for you,it has to be dressed up as something
entertaining or nobody cares. That's whyTrump's an industry One more, I put
my priorities on a president who's goingto have the backs of our allies and
hold our enemies to account, whowould secure the border, no more excuses
(01:47:10):
a president who would support capitalism andfreedom. He's a lot of those things.
I don't think for a second thatHamas wouldn't have done what they did
on October seventh if President Trump wasPresident Trump instead of former President Trump.
And I don't blame that on Biden. It's the way it's being handled after
the fact that a lot of peoplehave questions about when it comes to the
(01:47:33):
geopolitical side. It because she's runningto be vice president. Chad, No,
I don't think she is, whichbrings us so some stupid information,
and then I go and spoil itall by saying something stupid. All takes
stupid pills this morning. It's thehonest ones you want to watch out for,
because you can never predict they're goingto do something incredibly stupid. No,
(01:47:58):
you're the fact stupid. I'm withthe big mouth is stupid than elastic
crime. You should never underestimize thepredictability of stupidity. Now it's time for
stupid information, and it talks aboutthe vice president today in our stupid information.
Do you know originally it wasn't hey, I've got a running mate.
(01:48:21):
No, no, no. Theoriginal electoral college system, the candidate who
received the second most electoral college votesbecame president. So that person may not
have been in your party. Ohyeah. For example, seventeen eighty nine,
an election George Washington, father ofthe country. He was elected president.
He had sixty nine votes electoral collegevotes, not just sixty nine.
(01:48:45):
Oh, there's maybe a little bitmore more people here than just you know,
sixty n John Adams became the firstvice president. He had thirty four
votes. The eighteen hundred election revealedto everybody, hey, we need to
make some sort of amendment to theconstitution. Senators chose the vice president once.
In eighteen thirty six, Richard M. Johnson, Martin Van Buren's running
mate, fell one vote short ofa majority in the electoral College in a
(01:49:08):
runoff in the Senate of the twelfthAmendment. Johnson was then elected vice president
with thirty three votes to Francis Granger'sseventeen. Maybe we should go back to
that. That'd be interesting. Youguys have a blessed few days. We're
off tomorrow and Monday. As always, Night Night Jack. This is the
Chad Benson Show.
