(00:10):
Independent thoughts, independent life. Thisis Chad Benson ugly horrific, best way
to describe what took place in Rafa. And the pressure is starting to mount
in a major way internationally. Evenpeople who support what Israel's doing is saying,
(00:33):
you got to get a hold ofthis because this is horrific. And
you have to know that Hamas isgoing to hide their ass everywhere. But
there comes a point in time whenyou take a step back and go is
killing a bunch of people to getone or two people worth it at a
time when you've got a lot ofpressure on you at home as well as
(00:58):
internationally. And the pictures were horrific, The sounds were horrific. Their blood
curdling screams tell the story of theunfolding horror more than words ever could.
But it is only as bodies arepulled out of the inferno that the scale
of this attack becomes clear. Atleast forty five people were killed after an
(01:23):
Israeli air strength targeted this camp fordisplaced Palestinians in western Ruffa. According to
the Palestinian Ministry of Health, plastictarps engulfed in flames, sheet metal walls
crushed by the blast, a blockof makeshift shelters flattened in an instant.
(01:44):
Yeah, and that's moved up tofifty people plus now. And Beebe knows
that this isn't a good look.He understands that one percent this isn't a
good look. And we'll talk aboutthat in a second. But when you
are in a situation like this isstill the biggest story out there. I
(02:04):
mean, you know, Egypt inIsrael exchange, gunfire. I mean,
this place is ready to explode ina major way. And we could sit
here and talk about you know, you know, fat head, dumb,
dumb, whatever you want to callhim, little big fat guy over in
North Korea fired off a rocket, then goes well, as he thought it
(02:25):
was going to go to show everybodytalk about Iran and what's going on there.
But this is still a tinder boxright here, and the looks because
one thing Hamas can do that Israeldoesn't do well compared to Hamas is they
TikTok the hell out of it.In a TikTok society, they know where
(02:49):
to go and how to use theinfluence and algorithms to their advantage. The
Israeli military says the strike killed twosenior Hamas militants who commanded Hamas's West Bank
operations, yes Seen Rabia and HahalidNajar. In a rare move, the
Israeli military's top lawyer launching an investigationinto the strike, saying civilian casualties had
(03:13):
not been expected. It was assessedthat there would be no expected harm to
uninvolve civilians. The IDF regrets anyharm to uninvolve civilians during combat. Yeah,
when you think, hey, Iexpect nothing as far as civilians,
and then you killed fifty, thatain't good. Look, it isn't at
a time when again, not justhere right in college campuses, not just
(03:39):
globally from other countries, but internally, people are pissed that their family members
aren't home. People are pissed thatthis is continuing to go on, and
they're losing loved ones in the battlewith no clear plan. So it's mounting
(03:59):
even in is well. Mohammed AbuAtawi is one of those civilians so badly
burned that he cannot even open hiseyes. But there are so many more,
so many children writhing in pain. And then there are the parents desperate
(04:21):
to save babies whose cries have beensilenced perhaps forever. And that's where Hamas
comes in and does its thing, rolls it on out there, says look
at this, and yes, youhave to destroy Hamas. You don't get
to a point again. You're nevergoing to destroy an ideology, but you've
(04:42):
gotta be able to get it tothe point where it is so weakened that
it's negligible and the damage it cando. How do we feel that Biden
administration is reportedly assessing whether this israrely airstrike in Rafas Sunday crossed President Biden's
red line, the attack leaving arefuge g camp engulfed in flames, people
screaming in horror. Fifty people werekilled, hundreds injured, according to the
(05:06):
Hamas run Health ministry. Okay, well, don't believe anything they say,
like we know that, but itwas evident that there was a lot of
damage in net Yahoo and the IDFhave come out, they've already apologized.
I mean, you know, forhim to come out that quickly. Oh.
A horrifying picture has been emerging fromGaza, where at least forty five
(05:27):
people have been killed after Israeli warplanesstruck a camp for displaced people in Rafa,
the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Natanna, who described it as a tragic mistake,
adding that it will be investigated.Shlon if God have a big good
move of him. Despite our besteffort not to harm those not involved,
unfortunately a tragic mistake happened last night. We are investigating the case. Yeah,
(05:50):
we'll see how that goes. Takea few days off and chaos three
two, three, five, eight, twenty four to twenty three. Atch
you I had met to show sureTwitter. I want to think Craig filling
in on Friday. I hope youguys had a good Memorial Day. It's
back at it in New York. This is it the final chance for the
defense and the prosecution to present theircase to a jury as this historic trial
(06:14):
years an end. Those closing argumentsare scheduled to begin later this morning in
this criminal trial against former President DonaldTrump, regarding the alleged hush money payments
to porn star Stormy Daniels, alleged, he totally did it. How was
it categorized? We're gonna talk moreabout this throughout the show. I'm sure,
but it's how is it categorized? But he's back in there Oh my
(06:36):
god, how do we get here? I couldn't tell you. I couldn't
tell you how we got here. It's a crazy chaotic world between RAF and
Israel, Ukraine. What's going onover there, Papa New Guinea. The
horrific storms. Yeah, a MemorialDay weekend that was for some beautiful for
others, it was a nightmare.Back at it New York with Trump.
(06:59):
We've got an EF a few monthsaway. It's chaos, baby, It's
chaos. Unfortunately this weekend we lostsome people, one of which was a
great basketball player, but a betterannouncer and a damn good human being.
And I'm not a big fan ofhippies, and he was everything a hippie
was. Bill Walton died tributes pouringin from across the NBA. Steph Curry
(07:23):
saying he always brought the best energyand humanity to every room he walked into.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar saying he wasn't happyunless he did everything he could to
make everyone around him happy. Waltondied after a long battle with cancer.
He was seventy one. Yep,and this is a guy who was for
a younger generation who watches basketball. He was a great announcer said wacky stuff
(07:46):
for my generation and older. Hewas a great basketball player that led arguably
the greatest basketball team maybe outside ofthe Celtics ever. At UCLA. He
led the Bruins to two NCAA championshipsafter he was chosen first in the nineteen
seventy four NBA draft. He'd winchampionships with the Trailblazers and Celtics, picking
(08:07):
up regular season and Finals MVP awardsbefore foot injuries cut his career short.
Then an improbable second act, Waltonfought through a lifelong stutter to become one
of the game's most adored broadcasters, and he was some of the wacky stuff
he's again. He was a hippie. He'd wear tight I shirts, T
shirts. He took his shirt off, which was hilarious, put another shirt
(08:30):
on. I have found that mushroomsonly help you. There are basically three
million species of mushrooms around the world. Because you remember, fungus is singular
klung is pearl, which is calledthe glockom spiel. Okay, I made
famous Jarman nick you broke down. No, I didn't break you a cuffor
park like that. I tell youa transport don't you know, I want
(08:52):
to think about block um steels,Cammy stocking to ring the blockins, spield
Guy, focus in the media, face interesting indeed good Guy three, two,
three, five, three, eight, twenty four to twenty three Atch
Had Benson shows your Twitter tweet atas texta program more on Trump stuff coming
up. Travel weekend? How badwas Memorial Day weekend? Also we lost

(10:35):
been a really busy weekend. ButTSA says that they had their busiest single
travel day in its history on Friday, with two point nine million people traveling
through TSA screening. So that's prettyimpressive when you stock it up against like,
let's just say the day before Thanksgiving, for example. Right here we
are a Memorial Day, we expecta lot of people to be traveling as
well. Yep, a lot ofpeople traveling. There were some issues,
(10:58):
A lot of that had to dowith the store, and there were a
plenty of them causing damage wreaking havocand unfortunately killing people. The weekend storms
killed at least twenty two people fromTexas to Kentucky, and in Missouri,
at least five tornadoes reported near SaintLouis, damaging several homes and businesses.
More than five thousand flights were delayednationwide and hundreds were canceled. Yeah,
(11:22):
hundreds of And think about this fora second. We always talk about this
with travel. If one flight iscanceled, that means the plane isn't getting
to where it needs to be ontime, which starts the domino effect of
other flights being canceled down the way. So huge weekend for travel. Then
you throw in the storms and unfortunatelythe death. And then you know some
(11:46):
of the pictures because we live ina time where twenty four to seven,
there's a camera everywhere, and wow, some of these pictures Stormchaser taking shelter
with families in the dark, secondsafter they get inside, face to face
with a one hundred and thirty fivemile an hour twister. Miraculously no one
(12:11):
here was seriously hurt. Yeah.I know that movie Twister too, which
is going to be I think theElectric Boogloo, because remember the first twister,
which was awesome. This one iscoming out in a couple of weeks.
But you see that, I meanthe pictures this weekend, the videos
(12:33):
of people outside on their TikTok andwhatnot. Just it's it is ferocious,
you know, with joke about naturemessing you up, but nature can mess
you up. I mean this weekendagain, massive issues with weather, and
you had that thing in Papua NewGuinea where you god knows how many people
are still missing, couple thousand dead. So nature rearing its ugly head this
(12:56):
weekend. Speaking of ugly, yousee the livert Terarians and the way they
they treated Trump. That is justmean. Now, I think you should
nominate me or at least vote forme, and we should win together.
You heard those words nominate me orvote vote for me, because the Libertarians
(13:22):
want to vote for me, andmost of them will. I don't know
about that. They didn't seem thrilledthere about Trump, but you know,
I don't think they're thrilled anywhere aboutanybody outside of whoever they pick, who
usually has zero chance of doing anything. I think we recognize that. And
maybe you don't want to win.Maybe you don't want to win, maybe
(13:43):
you don't. No, only dothat if you want to win. If
you want to lose, don't dothat. Keep getting you three percent every
four years. There you go,Fine, go ahead, do what you
guys do, right, nominate thatpert and just whatever. Just nominate them
(14:03):
and just let them do the thingand you get to three percent or you
have a chance. Here. Bythe way, he and RFK Junior didn't
get the nomination, but I thinksome people were not thrilled by the way
that Trump acted, and he wasnot thrilled by the way you got booed.
There was an unfriendly reception. Yes, the campaign's not dumb. They
knew that that was going to happento some degree. Yeah, but I
think they're also pretty keenly aware thatif you peel off a little bit at
(14:26):
the libertarian vote, that three percentthat he mocked, that matters. In
a race that's as close as thisone is almost certainly going to be fair,
It definitely matters. Gallup had somedata that came out a couple months
ago that showcase that Libertarians represented aroundseventeen to twenty percent of the American electrip.
If you can pill off four percentof those voters in a place like
Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, wherethe margins are incredibly slim, absolutely can't
make a difference. Yeah, there'sno doubt about that. But you remember
(14:50):
a lot of people who are libertarianare former Democrats, former Republicans. They
lean a little bit right, leana little bit left, mostly independent,
but want to party, but don'thave a party because really isn't an independent
party out there. And I willsay this, politicians should show up in
uncomfortable places. That President Biden shoulddo the same. Donald Trump should do
(15:13):
the same. Go into places andtalk to people who may be somewhat skeptical
or hesitant about some of your positions. Yeah, it's I mean, look,
everybody's laughing or give him a hardtime about the booing. I understand
that it was notable, but hedoesn't need to win all of them.
No, he doesn't. And hewas there. You know who wasn't there,
Biden. Biden wasn't there. RFKJunior didn't get the nomination either.
(15:39):
And I continue to say this, any of the polls out there who don't
have him on their polls, youcan't trust those because he is going to
be somewhat of a force. Ithink, especially in some states terry,
that RFK is actually going after workingclass voters specifically. Yeah, what you
see essentially as look at those voterswho have a household income under fifty thousand
(16:00):
dollars, that is where RFK Juniordoes best. What we have here as
a legitimate three way race. Right, you would think this is a group
that Donald Trump like dominates among.Right, we know he always goes after
the working classes. But RFK isat twenty three percent. Donald Trump is
just at thirty four percent. Yeah, that's why you have to pay attention
to RFK and he and when youlook at the polls, because I think,
(16:23):
I think he's going to take alittle bit from Trump, and I
think he's going to take a lotfrom Biden. But it's where in what
states does he take those from?Right? Because if he takes from Biden
in California and nobody cares, doesn'tchange anything. If he takes from Trump
in Arizona, in Georgia, placeslike that, that's a bigger deal.
(16:45):
If you look at RFK Junior supportacross income groups, you basically see a
steady decline from those who make lessthan fifty thousand dollars a year, and
then you go to fifty to onehundred thousand dollars and then over one hundred
thousand dollars that group has he hasone half the support that he does amongst
those under fifty thousand dollars. Yeah, so it'll be interesting, definitely,
And I think you that's why youhave to look at you know, make
sure the polls have both with RFKJunior and without if you want to look
(17:08):
at it that way, because Ithink he's going to make some noise and
he's going to potentially tip, especiallyin certain states, which way this race
may go three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four to
twenty three. At Chad Benson Show'syour Twitter, tweet ats, text to
program. A lot of stuff stillto get to. Lizzo not happy with
South Park. I watched the episode. It was hilarious, talk of it
(17:30):
about that, A lot of otherstuff to get to. It is the
Chad Benson Show, The Chad BensonShow. In thoughts, independent life.
(18:03):
This is Chad Benson. Life isprecious and you never know when someone is
struggling. This weekend had enjoyable weekend. Did had some time off, spend
it with the family loved every secondof it. Played some pickleball quite a
lot, swam yesterday. It wasincredible in our Omaha Steakes. We're barbecuing,
(18:25):
swimming in the pool. But Saturday, after playing pick a ball earli
early in the morning, I gothome, kicked back and I said,
you know what I'm gonna do.Watch some of the golf, Watch some
of the golf. And it startedout in a very sad, sad way
because a golfer who won earlier thisyear and seemed to be sitting on top
(18:45):
of the world died the golf worldmorning, the tragic loss of professional golfer
Grayson Murray. The eight year PGATour veteran, had been open and vulnerable
about his struggles with mental health issuesand alcoholism in this social media post last
year. It's not easy on meand the people around me. They love
me, they don't like to seeme down, and they've been my number
(19:08):
one supporter, PGA Tour commissioner JayMonahan saying he spoke to Murray's parents and
they asked that we continue with tournamentplay. Yeah. He asked the parents,
do you want us to stop thetournament and they said no. Grayson
wouldn't want that. Now, thisis a guy who had had alcohol problems.
He had been very open about hismental illness and the struggles he had
(19:30):
had, and jim Nantz comes ontalks about the fact that he had died.
That's how it started the broadcast onSaturday. He actually played Thursday and
then Friday. At like the sixteenthhole, he putted out and he turned
(19:52):
to the guys he was playing withand said, I don't feel good.
Then I guess he went back tohis hotel or wherever he was. And
you know, a lot of peoplethink it was at this or was it
that I told my wife he's thirtyand he's in pretty good shape barring a
genetic issue. I said, Ihave a feeling because of his issues,
it was suicide. And that's whatit was. Web Simpson. You know,
(20:18):
when you hear news like that overthe phone, you don't think it's
real at first, and you know, you hear the emotion, you know,
coming from our swing coach, andthen you rouse us real. He
was pretty choked up about it.He'd known Grayson for quite a while.
(20:41):
But Peter manle Naldi, who isa golfer who won earlier this year,
wears a bucket hat, super emotionalabout his win earlier this year and the
struggles he had gone through just toget to this point. I think he
kind of said what a lot ofpeople did, because you just don't know
where people are. I saw severalgolfers saying, yeah, he looked great.
(21:03):
He's fitter than he's been in years. He just got engaged and life
seemed to be great for him,and he had won earlier this year.
But being interviewed, and this isabout a minute, you can hear the
emotion because it is a small, small group of people that hang out with
each other and we get so workedup out here about you know, bad
break here or good break there. You're looking, you know, we're so
(21:30):
competitive, so competitive out here,we all want to beat each other,
and it's something like this happens andyou realize we're all just humans and this
is just a really it's just areally really it's a really hard day because
you look at Grayson and you seein him like someone who is, you
know, visibly outwardly struggled in thepast, and he's been open about it,
(21:56):
and you see him kind of gethis life. That took place where
he's feeling good about things. Thisis just so sad. It it's with
a mishteh man. He was playinggreat, like his game is so good,
he's so good at golf. It'sa huge loss for you know,
for all of us on the PGATour. It's a huge loss for our
(22:18):
fans. It's a huge los forAnd in time like this, you realize
that as much as we want tobeat each other, as much as we
want to be competitive, we reallyare. We're one big family and we
lost one today and that's that's terrible. But how well did you know what
was going on? Obviously it struggled. And that's the thing with mental illness
and the struggles that are out there, that people struggle in silence in a
(22:40):
way that even though they maybe struggledin the past, were their signals could
anything have been done. I remembermy one of my mother's best friends,
a woman who hired my mom whenshe was still in high school, sophomore
in high school. They became greatfriends. Struggled with depression. Every advantage
(23:04):
you could give somebody to fight itshe got. And the minute she was
released from the hospital and had fiveminutes alone, she committed suicide. Sometimes
there's nothing you're gonna be able todo. But it was a tough thing
cause you're just like you realize,it's just it's just a game, or
(23:25):
it's just a job, or it'sjust this. There are so many more
important things out there. Three two, three, five, three eight,
twenty four to twenty three at ChadBenson Show. Is your Twitter? Tweet
at US text to program? Shouldwe lighten the mood? Lizzo is not
happy? I watched the ozempic SouthPark thing. It was hilarious. Why
isn't Lizzo happy? Because if youhave enough money, or if you have
(23:48):
diabetes, you don't have to worryabout getting the shot. But if you
don't have diabetes and you don't haveenough money, what are the doctors Peron
describing in South Park? This FDAapproved Lizo makes you feel good about your
weight and it costs ninety percent listlittle zimpic. I've lowered my standards and
(24:11):
my expectations. Its less in casestudies. Seventy percent of patients on Lizzo
no longer cared how much they wait. I don't give two shits. Lizzo
helps you eat everything you want andkeep physical activity to a minimum. Some
patients report constipation while listening to Lizzo. Stop listening to Lizzo if you experienced
pseudicidal thoughts. Serious side effects mayinclude pancreatitis, hypothermia, and literally out
(24:36):
your ears back. Are you livingwith concerns of obesity? Ask about the
power of not giving a fuck withLizzo. Oh, she was not happy
because she watched it and then filmedher reaction, especially when they had the
album up. It was, uh, you know, it poked fun at
the whole craziness and everybody was onthe drug, all the women, they
(25:02):
were wearing mid drifts and they weredoing anything. They were robbing the stores
to get ozepic and Manjaro because itwas tough for people to get. And
her reaction, well, it saida lot, oh chead, that's not
very nice. Oh are we youknow, it's this whole world of alternate
(25:25):
reality. Well we're not allowed totell everybody, you know, and I'm
not talking about us, you andme, but like a doctor nowadays,
you're not allowed to remember we wereplaying that thing last week. She goes
like, I don't like going tothe doctors because they tell me I'm fat
and I'm just that and the otherand I'm body positive. Well they're positive,
you're fat. Well that's just notvery nice. It was so funny
(25:45):
three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four, twenty three
at Chad Benson Show. It's yourTwitter, your Instagram, all of the
other things. Speaking of fat,you guys, remember Morgan Spurlock. He
is the guy it did Supersize Me, where he ate McDonald's every day for
a month and he put on allthat weight passed away. When he said
(26:07):
the name Morgan Spurlock, most peopleimmediately think one thing. I think I'm
gonna have to go supersize. Andhis two thousand and four documentary Supersized Me,
he chronicled the changes to his bodyas he ate nothing but McDonald's for
thirty days. It scored him anOSCAR nomination, and throughout his career he
also tackled subjects from chicken farming toproduct placement. In twenty seventeen, he
admitted to a history of sexual misconductand pretty much stepped away from the industry,
(26:30):
which told Spurlock died from cancer complications. He was fifty three. Yeah,
I don't think McDonald's did that tohim. By the way. I've
also seen people leat McDonald's and loseweight because the end of the day,
when you sit down and you tabulateit's calories in and calories out. It
may not be great for your body. But if weight which helps in the
(26:52):
maintaining of it, which helps youcan keep that down, that helps a
lot of your body. But ifyou're just gonna eat five thousand calories a
day, no matter what you do, you're gonna be larger, shall we
say that? Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four
to twenty three at Chad Benson Show, is your Twitter, tweet ats text

(27:59):
eight eight nine my dog for roughGreens Chad Benson, Joe. If you
like talk radio like Chad Benson likeshis meals, You've come to the perfect
place for takeout. Here's a listof things that I just do not give
(28:21):
a about. Number one, thestate of this economy. That is none
of my business. I pay mytaxes barely, so I don't know what
do you want me to do?Inflation? Should we all just become farmers?
Like I'll pay five dollars for anapple and I won't think twice about
it. Same goes with gas.Do you want to walk? Should we
all just buy bicycles? I mean, I drive an EV now, but
(28:45):
like I think about how much Ispent on this car? Almost zero.
That's what he cares about. TikTokTuesday he'll spend five bucks on an apple.
So what do you think of thoseapples? Well, let's thick,
they're five bucks. How many applesyou buy? And I don't know what
do you do? It probably liveshome. I don't know what to tell
you your baby, the weather, traffic. That's just the start to a
(29:07):
list of things that I just couldgive a class about. I like how
people have to go to the internetto tell you all the things that they
don't care about. These things don'tbother me. I don't care about them.
Let me tell you about them.Okay, Well, thanks, thanks
for that. I appreciate that.Hey, this weekend memorial they usually the
(29:27):
kickoff to summer movie season. Itlooks like neither Mad Max nor a Hungry
Cat could get people into the theaters. Hi, there he is up the
Darkest of the Agel Furiosa, theMad Max prequel starring on You, Taylor
Joy and Chris Hemsworth. Meanwhile, the family friendly animated The Garfield Movie says
(29:49):
it gobbled up the box office takewith an estimated thirty one point nine million
in ticket sales. The eating You'reabout to see will Not be Pretty.
Actor Chris Pratt plays the well fedkitty mew mew meow. So uh not.
It wasn't awful, but it justwasn't good. This is normally the
(30:11):
kickoff to summer. This is whenthe Memorial Day you blow it out.
This is when you have your Avengersand you do one hundred and seventy million
FURIOSA twenty six Garfield twenty four nota lot. Fall Guy's still on there.
By the way. We watched TheFall Guy, I think Friday night.
My wife and I the kids rentedit. It was fun, hilarious,
good times. Just let you guysknow that all of the things that
(30:34):
a movie should be wasn't crazy, right. There wasn't any woke stuff in
it. It wasn't even that.It was just a movie that was popcorn
fun. So what's that? Thatwas enjoyable for sure? Speaking of enjoyable,
man walks into Turks and Keikos.Looks like he could be staying for
a while. Good news, ishe not? But boy, check your
(30:57):
luggage four bullets. The Pennsylvania dadheld in Turks and Caicos for bringing ammunition
in his bag says he was preparingfor doomsday. I truly felt like I
could not breathe for three and ahalf months. Brian Hagerich had been detained
by the island nation since February whenairport authorities found hunting bullets in his luggage,
(31:18):
which he says he did not knowhe had. Yeah, so dude
goes down there, He's got afew bullets. Not like they make it,
he's got ammunition. They make itseem like he's brought just stacks of
it in his bag. There's likethree loose bullets and dude faces like twelve
years. Friday comes the day court. He was in turks and Caicos for
(31:42):
more than three months while awaiting sentencing. He and his wife walked into court
Friday to learn his fate. Everythingwas about to start to give Ashley what
could have potentially been the last hugand last kiss that we get the share
together for a very long time.It just did so bad, so bad.
But a judge granted Brian a suspendedsentence, essentially saying a twelve year
(32:06):
punishment did not fit his crime.Yeah, I think everybody kind of knew
that was gonna happen. Who weresome of the people you were rooming with
while you were staying in Turksy Keikos. I was with three folks that were
accused of murder. It was scary. You just don't know who's next to,
who's coming in so suspended sentence.I think this fine was like six
(32:28):
thousand bucks. There's still a coupleof people down there who have gotten themselves
in the same situation where they hadnot a loaded gun, some ammunition.
And apparently in today's world, nobodychecks their bag anymore, which is bizarre.
Double checking even if you're not ahunter, even if you don't even
own a gun, you're like,I'm going to look through here again just
to make sure there's not a straybullet that's living in here where I could
(32:52):
be in trouble. Now, DonaldTrump on trial, Doom doom. This
is it a final chance for thedefense and the prosecution to present their case
to a jury as this historic trialyears an end. Those closing arguments are
scheduled to begin later this morning. In this criminal trial against former President Donald
Trump regarding the alleged hush money paymentsto porn star Stormy Daniels, settle down
(33:15):
with the porn star again, okay, right, mid level adult actress.
She's only famous now because of him. And this happened in two thousand and
six, the payments came in,like what twenty sixteen or whatever. The
fact that we're even in this situation. None of that stuff, and I
(33:36):
do mean none of that stuff isillegal. Will she had the bookkeeping?
Okay, Still, as I pointedout earlier, a situation where you go
and you try to do something likethis, where you're like, should I
write it off as like a legalexpense or we shouldn't be here, like
(33:57):
the madness of this, and thenyou've got the Marra a lago situation that
is kind of going on, notgoing on. I don't think that things
ever going to see the light ofday. But jack Smith is saying,
hey, hey, let's keep thisguy quiet. We are learning that the
special counsel Jacksmith and his prosecutors arenow asking a federal judge in Florida for
a gag order on former President DonaldTrump in the classified documents case. What
(34:21):
they want is to limit his abilityto comment about law enforcement that searched his
marologue resort two years ago. Itcomes after the for president and many of
his Republican allies have been repeatedly exaggeratingand falsely criticizing the FBI for the use
of deadly force policy that was inplace during that search of his Marologue resort
(34:42):
for the classified documents. Yeah,no, the insanity of March retailer greeting
in particular. They were prepared toassassinate He wasn't even there, Yes he
was. No, he wasn't,and they had already worked it out with
the Secret Service. Do you thinkthe secrets are with They've got to be
in cahoots as well. Absolutely,It's not just Trump. We've also seen
Senator Ted Cruz, Marjorie Taylor Green, all of these Republicans going after and
(35:06):
saying Trump's fundraising, saying that theyhad authorized for the FBI to assassinate him.
I mean just reading from the document. The next day, Trump publicly
claimed he was just showing reports thatCrooked Joe Biden's doj and their illegal constitution
raid maril Ago. Then the lawcaps authorized the FBI to use deadly lethal
(35:28):
force. Trump also sent an emailstated the government was authorized in all caps
to shoot me. Now, yeah, I'm not buying it, sorry,
but if it works for some people, you know, it's interesting. I
watch I look at a lot ofpodcasts and One of them is a soccer
podcast. Nwayne Rooney is a famoussoccer player. One of the guys interview
(35:49):
and said, most famous person you'vehung out with whatever. So they got
golf with Trump and he said itwas a trip. He goes. There
was Rudy Giuliani in the golf cartbehind him. He goes. Then a
hundred other golf carts with secret Servicein front of them and behind him,
and he goes. And then thelittle the water you know where they have
the lakes. He goes. It'sfull of boats with snipers on it.
(36:14):
I don't think they're gonna assassinate him. Do a city show grabbed the podcast
Chad Benson Show. This is theChad Benson Show, Independent Thoughts, Independent
(36:46):
Life. This is Chad Benson.Sometimes in life you double down. I
thought, that's Memorial Day weekend, all the hubbub of Harrison, Butker gone
away. Not so fast. TheDoe doubled down. If it wasn't clear
that the timeless Catholic values are hatedby many, it is now. Over
(37:09):
the past few days, my beliefsor what people think I believe, have
been the focus of countless discussions aroundthe globe. At the outset, many
people expressed a shocking level of hate, but as the days went on,
even those who disagreed with my viewpointsshared their support for my freedom of religion.
(37:30):
Oh you can't have that, youyou, you can't. What do
you think is this? Stop thatstart up now? Sorry, you can't
have a different point of view. You can't have a traditional look at life.
It is not possible. It isnot possible, continue sir. In
my seven years in the NFL,I've become familiar with the positive and negative
comments, but the majority of themrevolve around my performance on the field.
(37:53):
But as to be expected, themore I've talked about what I value most,
which is my Catholic faith, themore polarizing I have become. Oh
how dare you talk about your Catholicfaith? Evil person? You have a
different belief how dare you? Hedoubled down, though, I think the
number one selling jersey in the NFL. Right, now, here's people like
(38:15):
I like that guy? He speakingis truth? Right? Isn't that what
the left always talks about? Speakour truth? This is what he believes.
Something wrong with that? But thereis for some people. And it's
funny because the uber lib progressives. They're out of their mind as always.
How dare he say women should belocked in the kitchen pregnant? You never
(38:38):
said any of that stuff, butthat's what you heard. It's a decision
I've consciously made, in one Ido not regret at all. If we
have truth and charity, we shouldtrust in the Lord's providence and let the
holy ghosts do the rest of thework. Our love for Jesus, and
thus our desire to speak out shouldnever be outweighed by the longing of our
(39:00):
fallen nature to be loved by theworld. I lean on those closest to
me for guidance, but I cannever forget that it is not people but
Jesus Christ who I am trying toplead. There you go speak in his
truth or his beliefs or his faith, and he's living, as they would
say out loud, which is fine. Some people not happy. Chelsea Handler
(39:25):
upset with Harrison, as he mayhave heard. There's a man by the
name of Harrison Butker who's talking morethan I typically like for a male.
He is a kicker for the KansasCity Chiefs, and I learned that kickers
rarely get tackled, so based onhis misogynistic rant during a recent commencement address.
I'm guessing this bible thumper thumped himselfa little too hard with his bible
(39:46):
and gave himself cte ugh. He'stalking more than men should talk. First
of all, Harrison, you're akicker, so you have one important part
of your body, and it's notyour brain. I can tell you that
my peutple wife, Isabelle, wouldbe the first to say that her life
truly started when she began living provocationas a wife and as a mother.
The real kicker is that Harrison Bucker'smother is a renowned physicist who has a
(40:07):
degree in chemistry and a master's inmedical physics. So who paid for all
those youth athletic team fees and uniformfees and equipment fees when Harrison was a
kid so we could grow up tohave a career making millions of dollars for
kicking things? My guess is aworking woman. Actually, h Harrison Bucker
(40:29):
Senior was there too, financial analystmba big mover and shaker in the financial
world. So Harrison grew up prettywell. Oh and here's one other thing.
Parents are staunch Catholics. Standing behindhim one hundred percent staunch Catholics.
Yeah, big time Catholics raised him, big time Catholic. Harrison, this
(40:51):
is the first time I've heard aboutyou, and hopefully will last. And
after this, I'm going to goahead and do what your fellow teammate does
and just pretend like you don't exist. I don't talk to her and all
year long, man, I justlet him do his thing. We sit
rub beside hearted team meeting and Idon't say one word, not because they
don't like him. By the way, he was single handedly raised by his
mother and his father was there too. They're still married. She did everything.
(41:12):
No, No, it was afifty to fifty thing. They talk
about it, talk about how excitedthat he has become the person who is
living the way that he's living andhis faith. So if you're going to
try to throw that out there, and by the way, if you listen
to the speech again that he gaveit a private faith based college, as
remind everybody of that, a privatefaith based college. You listen to it.
(41:35):
He didn't say women should be enslaved. He said the best thing that
you're going to do and the thingthat you're going to love is being a
husband and a mother. But alascan't say that, can't How dare you
speaking of daring Trump on trial?Don't don't? This is it. The
final chance is the defense and theprosecution to present their case to a jury.
(41:59):
As this is historic trial years anend, Those closing arguments are scheduled
to begin later this morning in thiscriminal trial against former President Donald Trump regarding
the alleged hush money payments to pornstar Stormy Daniels. Yeah, so this
is this is it. It's thefinal throw. They've been off for a
(42:19):
few days. What do you thinkMemorial Day was like for those people?
So? Is he right there?Yeah? Does he look over to you
guys once in a while. Doyou think he did it? I can't
talk about it. Five hours later, of course I think he did it.
(42:40):
After a few bevies as they wouldsay, oh do I think he
did it? Of course he didit, and none of it was illegal.
But you had the bookkeep it's abookkeeping. It's a misdemeanor bookkeeping,
campaign finance viol or whatever, andwe all move on. Does not rise
(43:02):
to the level of felony. Andas I've liked to point out, as
several others, even people who can'tstand Trump, have pointed out, to
get to the area of felony, you must show that you committed this crime
A, so you can then commitcrime B. Normally, like in every
(43:23):
other case in the world, youhave to show that crime B was committed.
And the only way you got thereis by committing crime. They have
said, here's crime A, andpeople are like, well, okay,
but it rises to a felony basedon the other crime. What's the other
crime? It's crime right there. It's all you guys need to know about.
Oh, but there's nothing else, nothing else, okay? Three two,
(43:46):
three, five, three eight, twenty four to twenty three at Chad
Benson Show, is your Twitter tweetat as text to program horrific To say
the least, the bombings in Rafa. We are not happy about it.
There is no doubt that it isa nightmare that bb neetnah who is trying
(44:07):
to deal with how many have beenkilled so far, right around fifty.
But there is mounting pressure on Israelto figure this out sooner rather than later.
The Biden administration is reportedly assessing whetherthis is rare. The airstrike in
rafas Sunday crossed President Biden's red line, the attack leaving a refugee camp engulfed
(44:29):
in flames, people screaming in horror. Fifty people were killed, hundreds injured,
according to the Hamas run health ministry. Yeah, which you can't believe
anything they say, as we figuredout, but there's no doubt that this
was a mistake. Condemnation is growingfollowing Israel's strike in western Rafah that set
fire to a refugee camp, killingdozens of people. Israeli Prime Minister Netnya,
(44:52):
who admitted there was a technical failure, he called it a tragic mishap,
saying that Israel is investigating the bombingthat tag to two senior har Mass
leaders. Now Horrifying images from thescene show are burning inferno, people frantically
trying to douse the flames and pullsurvivors out of the blaze. Yeah,
(45:12):
you can call it a missap, and you call it whatever you want.
And supposedly you got those two,but at what cost when everybody's saying,
yes, you go get hermas, but you've got to be more careful than
what you're doing. Talk a bitmore about this coming up. Three two,
three, five, three eight, twenty four to twenty three atch you
had Benson Show, should Twitter Hopeyou guys had a good Memorial Day.
We had an amazing Memorial Day.Remembered my uncle Victor served the Navy for
(45:36):
a long time Vietnam passed away.God bless him. And enjoyed our time
together. And that's the other thing. People fight so we can have a
life. We enjoy things. Oneof the things we did yesterday is we
got in the pool for the firsttime. My kids has been in the
pools and it's really kind of stillcold for me even though it's a hundred
degrees out here. But I'll tellyou what. Afterwards, we barbecued.

Joe, you're listening to the ChadBenson Show. And a new list for
(47:10):
you. New list of restaurants closingin twenty twenty four. Oh, that'd
be now. Fud Ruckers is expectedto close all of its locations by the
end of the year. I lovefud Ruckers, Thanks Joe. Old Country
Buffet closing all of its remaining locations, Biscuits and Gravy Really Ihop closing one
(47:31):
hundred locations, Applebee's closing thirty fiverestaurants, Red Lobster closing fifty locations as
they enter bankruptcy. Wow, TikTokyou can go there and find out.
TikTok's one of those places where ifyou want to review on something, it's
there. You're surprised. I'm sureto find that out. A lot of
(47:54):
people use it for that. Andit's like with YouTube. YouTube is the
second largest search engine because people gothere to find out stuff. Continue,
ma'am. Talking about restaurant closures.Demi's closing twenty locations. It's a hot
planning to close five hundred restaurants.Out Back Steakhouse closing forty one of their
(48:14):
seven hundred locations. Druby Tuesday closingsixteen restaurants. Oh, wait a minute,
there's more. Quiz Noo subs onehundred and forty locations, shuddered,
Macaroni Grill, God, they've gota good Morgarita pizza, thirty one restaurants,
TGI Fridays, two hundred and thirtythree restaurants. Oh, Charlie's sixty
four restaurants and ninety one Boston Marketlocations. Poof are going away, just
(48:38):
like seven billion dollars of student loandebt. Just like that. That's what
we call Biden magic. Somebody's notthrilled by Bidenomics. It's working, is
it? Yes? No, maybeyou don't know. Well, people don't
know either. We talked about thatpoll last week for Win on our little
(49:00):
few day vacation. In that pollwhere people like, eh, we're in
recession, it's like, technically no, it's like we're the highest unemployment in
fifty years. Technically no, we'reat the lowest unemployment. I mean,
it's just it's it's bizarre, butit's the way that people feel. And
you can't discount that. And Isee that too often. Trump in New
(49:23):
York again, cause it's trial day. Boom boom. Closing arguments in this
historic trial follow a week's hiatus,Jurors spent five weeks hearing testimony from twenty
two different witnesses. They spoke aboutsex and money, but really what the
jury will decide is whether former PresidentTrump committed an accounting crime to keep a
lewd story from his past from hurtinghis chances in the twenty sixteen election.
(49:45):
Oh is that a crime? Look? Because remember, to get to a
felony, I just want to goover this again. So it's convoluted and
it's ridiculous, But to get toa felony. You have to show that
you committed this crime in order tocommit another crime, the federal crime of
(50:09):
which you're a state, and you'retrying again. It's Alvin Bragg's ridiculous.
But they've never even come up withwhat the other crime is not once,
still waiting to find out what thatis. Still waiting. The closings are
going to take most of the day, so deliberations are expected to start on
(50:30):
Wednesday, and Trump will be incourt as he has for the last six
weeks, and the trial is clearlyon his mind. A Memorial Day social
media post devolved into an attack onthe judge. Trump remains under a gag
order, but the judge is fairgame. M fair game for the judge.
Fair game. You're not going tokeep you know, we just talked
(50:51):
about mar A Lago. They're tryingto keep him quiet. It ain't gonna
happen. It isn't. From DavidPecker, the jury heard about a tabloid
tactic for burying damaging stories about notillegal Stormy Daniels described intimate details of a
sexual encounter with Trump that he didnot occurred. That Cohen said he paid
Daniels hush money that Trump reimbursed inmonthly payments disguised as legal expenses. And
(51:13):
that's the issue, right there. Was it legal expenses or not legal expenses?
That's where we are. All theother stuff doesn't matter. All the
other stuff doesn't matter. Him havingsex with somebody else not a crime.
Bearing stories not a crime. Howyou catalogued it inside of your little payment
(51:37):
book, that is the crime. And it's a misdemeanor campaign finance misdemeanor.
Cohen said he spoke to Trump sometwenty times about the hush payment. So
he's expected to be a focus ofthe defense, which we'll call him a
liar whose testimony cannot be trusted. The closing arguments, starting with the defense,
(51:58):
are expected to take all day.The jury is not expected to begin
deliberating the thirty four felony counts offalsifying business records until first thing tomorrow.
I still think he's going to befound guilty, although you only need one.
One person is just like, look, I just don't find this to
be the thing. I think thisis a bunch of bunk. I think
they've overreached and nay, you've notproven out that he was going to commit
(52:20):
another crime. Trump's attorney is goingto say that of all the evidence,
none of it points to any criminalintent on Trump's part. Look for the
defense to also attack the credibility ofwitnesses, especially Michael Cohen, because he
gave key testimony. Cohen testified thathe spoke directly with Trump some twenty times
about the hush payment to adult filmstar Stormy Daniels less than two weeks before
the twenty sixteen election, and whenTrump reimbursed Cohen. Prosecutors will argue Trump
(52:45):
falsified business records to hide it allfrom voters or from his wife? Is
it from the voters his wife?Probably both? And this was just on
the heels of the whole was itthe access Hollywood tape? But where is
the crime that you were going tocommit based on the crime that you committed,
(53:05):
your misdemeanor campaign finance and you weredoing that to commit another crime,
and you have to tell me whatthe other crime was, and we still
don't know what that is. Aswe head to closing arguments three, two,
three, five, three, eight, twenty four to twenty three,
atch, had Benton show your Twitter, your Instagram, all of the other
stuff, so much stuff to getto still some more on the Lizzo.
(53:30):
Some of you are commenting, youdidn't see South Park. They took on
Ozepic and the weight loss fad andit was funny and Lizzo was a bit
of the butt of jokes and she'sspeaking out Harrison, Butker the Kicker has
said some stuff that has angered somepeople. We got more on what's happening
over in Israel and Gaza tragedy andmore pressure internationally on Israel after a strike
(53:58):
killed a bunch of people that well, you know what they said, Oops,
but that's not good enough for theinternational community. Talk about that as
well. Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four,
twenty three. So your text line, it is the Chad Benson, Joe,
Chad Benson, Joe, independent thoughts, independent life, This is Chad
(54:38):
Benson. Fifty people were killed, hundreds injured according to the muss Run Health
Ministry. This woman saying, wewere here intense and suddenly we found rockets
falling on us. There is nowheresafe for us to go. Her family
now forced to move for the eighthtime. Yeah, awful to say the
(55:00):
least. And it's getting worse forIsrael in an already horrific situation. Bibin
at Yaowho comes out apologizes, here'sthis place in Rafa that's supposed to be
a camp where you've got refugees, and they thought they were getting two like
lieutenants in Amas and the battles thatwage in this world right now, because
(55:25):
here here's the thing. If it'sif it's African on African or what you
see in Haiti, nobody gives arats ass. They don't because there's no
in the political world of of ofuber craziness. There's no oppressor and oppressed
if you will, with with Palestineand Israel, that's what you have here
(55:45):
Ukraine Russia. It's two white groupsfight. Nobody really cares. Rather bad
sucks. But for whatever reason,we've said this for a very long time,
this is the style, the thethe hip du jeu needs when it
comes to standing up to violence andhate in whatnot is Palestine and you're battling
(56:08):
two fronts, the front of theactual war and on the other side of
it you have got the information war. And right now there's isolation time at
some point with the way that thingsare going because Western European countries as well
as US we're battling this thing whereit's like, dude, we want you
(56:30):
to go kill them all, butnot everybody that makes sense the strike.
It's adding to Israel's growing isolation onthe world stage. It came just two
days after a UN top court ruledagainst its offensive in Rouffer, and a
National Security Council spokesperson calling the imagesout of Ruffer devastating, heartbreaking, saying
that Israel must protect civilians. Andthey came out and said it was a
(56:52):
mistake, mistake that costs several people, maybe several dozen, their lives,
many of them children. And it'severything am streamed of Hamas is willing to
sacrifice two of their own if itmeans killing fifty sixty one hundred innocent because
they can point to look how evilgenocide Joe and Israel is. But you
(57:14):
do have to because the pressure isn'tjust from the outside the inside as well.
People are pissed that the people aren'tback yet the hostages. People are
angry about that. You've also gotpeople who said, okay, enough is
enough. We're warring. What now? What's the next move? Is this
going to be a forever thing? So this is this is not a good
(57:37):
situation, BB stuck between a rockand a hard place. You've got to
finish the job, but you haveto also put yourself in a position.
And it's interesting. I learned thisfrom trading when I was a trader.
You have a plan, right, everybody's got a plan, and the plan
is when you're trading, this iswhat I'm willing to lose. These are
(58:00):
the profits I'm willing to take, and I want to get to anything above
that. Right, We're exiting herebecause this was our goal and this is
what we're willing to risk. Samething here. You need to know,
now, okay, what are youwilling to risk? If you will at
this point in time, how muchmore of your own people's lives are willing
(58:23):
to risk in others? And knowingyou're never going to get to zero?
When is it enough? Because ifyou think you're going to get to zero,
it's the goal is to eliminate everybodyin tomosages. Isn't gonna happen.
It is three two, three, five, three, eight, twenty four
to twenty three. Atch had Bensonshowsh your Twitter Trump on trial doom doomed.
(58:45):
This was interesting. I came acrossthis like fifteen minutes ago Claire mccaskell,
Senator and political pundit now in theold MSNBC talking about the Trump trial.
But I love this. Oh yeah. The one thing we can overlook
is this, Well, I thinkit's going to be hard to listen to
(59:06):
the defense because they're going to pickat the very weakest part of the prosecution's
case, which, if we're goingto be candid, the weakest part is
that the direct evidence of Trump knowingabout the falsification of business records all come
through Michael Cohen. So his credibilityis going to be something that the jury
(59:27):
is going to talk a lot aboutin deliberation. And I'm venturing that the
prosecution will spend a great deal oftime on shoring up Michael Cohen's credibility and
their closing arguments and how do theydo that. Their best friend is all
the documents, all the documents thattrack exactly what he said, including phone
(59:49):
records. So it'll be interesting tosee how these arguments go today. I
know this as a prosecutor. Iwas always glad we got the last word.
Oh yeah, always glad he gotthe last word. I Uh,
I just laughed though, I mean, you know, the evidence. They're
gonna the defense is gonna We're gonnahave to listen to them. We're gonna
(01:00:10):
have to let them talk. Andthey're their evidence is an argument against this.
There is no evidence. It's like, so that sucks. We guess
we gotta give them a chance.Oh my god, how did we get
air in sanity? Speaking of sanity, Bill Marherl was on with uh mister
Zakaria and the old CNN talking about, you know, politics in today's world.
(01:00:35):
People who say to me, andthere are many who say, I
love Bill maher but he he hasmatured too much. He's become cranky,
He's become crotchety. He's become oneof those old guys who says, the
kids are crazy. It was betterin my day. What do you say
to them, they're wrong? Imean, they're wrong and the kids aren't
crazy. It's interesting they have thisidea, the younger generation, maybe every
(01:00:57):
generation does that just because something isnew makes it better. And that's not
true. New is not synonymous withbetter. One hundred percent new doesn't make
it better, makes it new, especially when it comes to like ideas of
the political nature. It's like,do you remember you know I saw this
great meme, like, when you'retwo, you love your dad. When
(01:01:17):
you're five, your dad's your hero. When you're thirteen, your dad doesn't
you know nobody's talking about. Whenyou're at eighteen, you know everything.
When you're twenty two, you're theking of the world and your dad's a
fool. And then it goes allthe way down to when you're forty and
fifty it's like, oh, yeah, you're dad new a lot, same
kind of thing. Just because it'snew and you've got that idea doesn't mean
you're the first, and maybe it'salready been tried. I heard a couple
(01:01:40):
of people say, well, I'ma hypocrite because you were four of the
demonstrators in nineteen sixty eight or whateverit was when they were demonstrating against the
Vietnam War. First of all,the students weren't against their own These students
were threatening other students that didn't happenin the Vietnam War. This is demonstration
(01:02:00):
and protesting for a terrorist group.Yeah, that's the other side of it.
Hatred of our country and our alliesand all that stands dear in the
West, and the disdain for otherstudents You can have a disdain for Israel.
You can protest all you want, but it's when you deny students the
(01:02:24):
right to even go into classes,Well, then we've got an issue there.
Yes, people have said to me, you make fun of the left
more than you used to, Andguilty I have, because the left has
changed now the right has changed also, But it's not like the left hasn't
changed. Also, I'm going tocall it out wherever I see it.
I mean, there are things thathave to do with you know, gender
(01:02:46):
and race and free speech, ideasabout you know, you can be healthy
at any weight, and gender isalways a social construct. And maybe we
should give communism another try, andyou should get rid of capitalism and the
border patrol, and let's tear downstatues of Lincoln and get rid of the

(01:05:02):
Oh it can, and it will, and it'll also annoy you and
freak you out TikTok style. I'vebeen sitting in my car. I look,
I'm crazy because I'm crying. I'vebeen sitting in my car for like
twenty five minutes because there's so manycicadas right now, and I just like
don't want to leave my car,but I I'm going to get to my
house. I have an umbrella,so I'm going to like use that too.
(01:05:28):
I just like, I feel likean umbrella is not enough. Flake.
Like, I don't think people understand, Like it's not just a fear,
it's like an actual phobia. I'mlike, actually genuinely scared. Yeah,
if you didn't, if you've notseen parts of the South first of
all, getting bombarded. We talkedabout it earlier. You know, we
joke about this kind of stuff, the nature messing you up. The reality
is is nature was on full displayover the last several days throughout America and
(01:05:55):
in Papua New Guinea with the massivemud slides. There are still god knows
how many people missing. But onthe the the kind of humorous end of
it, the cicadas and if youby the way, well, I'm showing
pictures of you know, and videoof people who are out and they have
(01:06:15):
like they're mowing a lawn or they'reworking in the street, you know,
you know, cutting concrete. Thereas cicadas all over them. People are
freaking out about them, and noone's awakened my house. So I'm scared
that, like I'm scared that ourfront door is like locked, which means
that I have to like spend anextra ten seconds, like I'm locking the
door. It's everything's just like everythingis just like really freaking me out.
(01:06:39):
I'm scared, and it's like notfunny, Like this is a serious phobia.
Like I'm terrifying right now. I'mmoving. I'm definitely moving. I'm
going to a different country. That'sa that's a bit much. That's it.
I'm done. I'm going to adifferent country. I can't do this
anymore. Yeah, it was It'scrazy what is it every twenty three years?
(01:07:02):
Is there a movie cheaper screepers?Right, every twenty three years he
waits de feed or something like that. We're seventeen years somewhere where there's two
separate groups of cicadas and then theyjust kind of emerge, and this is
the time. So if you're outthere in the South in particular, be
careful because they're everywhere. Speak ofnature messing you up. Yesterday, Memorial
(01:07:25):
Day, people having fun, notin parts of California where you can't go
in the water because shark. We'relocal, it's a Memorial weekend, so
we usually find our way to thebeach. A bike taken out of Memorial
Day plans. City beaches in SanClementy closed and not just because of a
shark sighting. City officials say asurfer was bumped off his board last night
(01:07:46):
around t Street Beach, prompting atwenty four hour closure. US why is
there shark in the lotter? Thatwas Penelope's reaction. They're always in the
water boogie boarding, but not today. Beachgoers were limited to enjoying the holiday
on the sand. It can onlygo ankle deep in the water any further
and lifeguards were on standby. I'vegot good news, and the sharks are
(01:08:06):
always here. They're right out there. They're not going to mess with you.
I'm not too freaked out about them. But I wouldn't want to face
one head on under underneath the water, that's for sure. No, I
probably wouldn't want to do that either. Why are there sharks in the water,
Penelope, Penelope, where do youthink fish live in my house?
No? Now, what kind ofshark was it? Jed? Was it
(01:08:27):
the shark? We don't know whatkind of shark bumped that surfer off his
board, but official say juvenile greatwhites are more common in this area,
but it's rare to see them orfor them to have any interaction with people.
For this San Clementy surfer, he'snot too concerned. You know.
If you mind your own business, they'll mind theirs. And I think you're
all good and just paddle away. And if it's going to come at you,
(01:08:48):
maybe just give it a good punchin the head and wish for the
best. You know. Again, you can only be ankle deep in the
water out here before lifeguards come outand maybe tell people that they need to
come back out to the sand.Officials tell us that there has been total
compliance so far, they haven't hadany issues, and they say that the
closure is going to be up untilabout eight o'clock to night, pending any
(01:09:10):
other shark sightings. Total compliance, total compliance. You must comply ankle deep.
That's about right. Everybody's like, well, it's you know your life.
You want to go in the water, you should be able to.
It's not about you. It's aboutthe lifeguard that's going to have to rescue
your dumb ass already at some pointin time when you've had too much,
(01:09:30):
you get stuck in a riptide orsome of the nature. That's what it's
about, let alone sending them outthere to deal with a giant fish that's
pissed and angry and confused because itdoesn't have thumbs. That's why they bite.

to EV or not to EV.If you're a car shoppering. He's concerned
(01:09:54):
about the future of our planet, but also just needs a good car.
What's the best way to go?Should you buy a fully electric car or
should you just get a hybrid thatstill burns gasoline, just lots less of
it. Road transportation accounts for abouta quarter of global carbon emissions. In
the long run, electric cars willbe the best solution for the planet in
(01:10:15):
the US, and EV is thecleaner choice pretty much everywhere, but only
marginally in states that still rely oncoal for electricity, which is a vast
majority. Again, there's no magiclightning catcher. There is nothing like that.
Right, There's no ferry that whipsup electricity for your EV. And
here's the funny thing. Is itgood for your state? Maybe? Maybe
(01:10:38):
it is? Is it bad forthe planet overall because of the way they
have to mine it, how theyhave no idea what they're gonna do with
these batteries when they break down overtime. We could look at it like
that. I think we're gonna lookback at this and go, boy,
this was not the best idea.A lot of people just aren't ready to
make the leap to driving on pureelectricity. Not everyone can have an EV
charger at home, and public chargerscan be hard to in some places,
(01:11:00):
and frankly, they're still not asreliable as gas pumps. Concerns about electric
car charging infrastructure have started to worrypeople, and that's meant that hybrid sales
have started going up faster. Nowa hybrid can use more than a third
less gasoline than a regular car.Yes, speaking of evs, we spent
a lot of money. How manyof those things that we built so far?
(01:11:21):
The Federal Highway Administration says only sevenor eight charging stations have been produced
with a seven and a half billioninvestment that taxpayers made back in twenty twenty
one. Why isn't that happening morequickly? So? The president's goal is
to have half a million chargers upby the end of this decade. Now,
in order to do a charger,it's more than just plunking a small
device into the ground. There's utilitywork. And this is also really a
(01:11:45):
new category of federal investment. Butwe've been working with each of the fifty
states. Every one of them isgetting formula dollars to do this work.
Engaging them in the first seven oreight though, I mean, at the
you want how many by the endof the decade. Do you guys know
how long a decade is? Right? Engaging them in the first handful Again,
by twenty thirty, only seven oreight five hundred thousand chargers, and
(01:12:08):
the very first handful of chargers arenow already being physically built. Okay,
I like the hybrid idea. Ithink that's a cool idea, but I'm
not ready to go full electricity yet. My little brother, he got himself
a EV vehicle that he loves. He's got it. He loves his Tesla,
misses his gas car a lot morethan he loves his Tasla. I'll
(01:12:29):
tell you that right now. Butas he said, his biggest issue couldn't
get a charger at all. Andit's been well over a year. They
promised it within a few months. He has to go up at night and
park in front of the of agrocery store to do it. And he
goes, knowing, now what Iknow, I wouldn't do it, understand
him. Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four to

this is Raeli airstrike in Rafas Sundaycrossed President Biden's red line, the attack
leaving a refugee camp engulfed in flames, people screaming in horror. Fifty people
were killed, hundreds injured. Accordingto the Hamas run Health Ministry, Yeah,
(01:13:44):
it was awful. The sounds alone. We're ugly. Now, let's
not forget October seventh. We're goodright in the morning. By midday,
there's no ceasefire. There is nofriendship, there's no cooperation. There is
now war. Let's not forget that. That being said, at a time
(01:14:12):
when you fight two battles, thebattle of the actual battlefield, there's also
a public opinion battle. And trustme, he is losing that bb Net
Yahoo at this moment in time.Their blood curdling screams tell the story of
the unfolding horror more than words evercould. But it is only as bodies
(01:14:38):
are pulled out of the inferno thatthe scale of this attack becomes clear.
At least forty five people were killedafter an Israeli air strength targeted this camp
for displaced Palestinians in western Ruffa.According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health,
plastic tarps engulfed in flames, sheetmetal walls used by the blast, a
(01:15:00):
block of makeshift shelters flattened in aninstance. Yeah, again, you're fighting
a two pronged battle and hearing thatI said at last hour, and I've
said it numerous times, they arewilling to do whatever they need to do
and sacrifice as many as they needto to achieve their objective, which is
(01:15:26):
making Israel's life hell. But Israel'sgot to do a better job because they
know the world is watching. PresidentBiden himself. He's previously voiced his opposition
to Israel's offensive and rougher His administrationeven suspended a shipment of weapons to Israel
over concerns about how those weapons mightbe used, and global pressure mounts today
(01:15:47):
Ireland, Norway and Spain it willformally recognize the state of Palestine isolation.
M hm. Now Bbi's already apologized. And look when it comes to Biden
and we we we need to bein front of the cameras one. We're
(01:16:09):
in your corner. We're not goinganywhere, right, We're in this to
win this with you. Behind closeddoors, we can say, dude,
you need to get your act together. You need to start coming up with
a plan, and you need todo it now. And if your plan
is to get to zero Hamas fighterswhile you kill innocent people, thinking that
(01:16:34):
that that's not going to breed moreHammas fighters, you're fooling yourself. So
what is the plan? In frontof the camera? Niceity, Hey,
we're bhind you. We're on hundredpercent. And let's and and look,
you know, Biden's trying to pleaseeverybody. We built that stupid pier that's
(01:16:55):
sinking, right, How much moneydo we spend on that? None of
the food is getting anywhere it needsto go because the Moss is never going
to allow that because that would hurttheir narrative. But the media won't report
that. So alas here we are. But you gotta do better, man,
(01:17:15):
you got to do better. Speakingof better, finally we're coming to
an end of this trial with theformer president Donald Trump. Oh that trial,
Yes, the one with the ladywho performs in adult films. Well
used to. She can't anymore. She's older and nobody wants to see it.
(01:17:36):
Closing arguments in this historic trial followa week's hiatus. Jurors spend five
weeks hearing testimony from twenty two differentwitnesses. They spoke about sex and money.
But really what the jury will decideis whether former President Trump committed an
accounting crime to keep a lewd storyfrom his past from hurting his chances in
the twenty sixteen election. An accountingcrime. Isn't this about sex? It
(01:17:58):
is not. Is it a felonyrealistically? No, it's an accounting crime,
campaign finance. Whatever, we allmove on. Claire mccaskell came out
today, former senator. She mightbe as I don't even know, don't
care. She's on MSNBC, andI just love this part of how she
starts this out, you know, with the Unfortunately, we got to listen
(01:18:21):
to the defense today. Well,I think it's going to be hard to
listen to the defense because they're goingto pick at the very weakest part of
the prosecution's case, which, ifwe're going to be candid, the weakest
part is that the direct evidence ofTrump knowing about the falsification of business records
(01:18:42):
all come through Michael Cohen. Thereyou go. So that's the direct evidence
is the guy that's a liar andlies all the time and has already been
in trouble for lying and falsifying recordsand doing certain things he's the guy that
you got to believe. So theoh my god, it's just nutty,
(01:19:04):
nutty, I say. But thelast here we are several people you know,
texted me and said, Chad,do you think that they're gonna find
him guilty? I Man, there'sdays I think yes, and then there's
days I think it's a hung jury. I don't think they're gonna acquit him.
I think at best he gets ahung jury. Uh. And then
(01:19:27):
I think that you, if you'reAlvin Bragg, do you try to go
back to the well again. Idon't think you do. I think you
just let it, you know, cause you're not gonna get it in time.
And it just and the worst casescenario is a guilty verdict. Well,
of course that's bad for Trump. No, but I want you fall
(01:19:48):
along with me, and I've heardseveral people bring this up. You get
a guilty verdict, the election happens, Trump loses by a close margin,
and it shows that four percent ofpeople decided not to vote for Trump because
he was found guilty of this. Then it goes to appeals. An appeal
(01:20:11):
court says this is a sham andshould never have been brought. Well,
the damage has already done. There'sno repercussions at that point in time.
That's the worst case scenario for notjust Trump, but for how could you
believe the system anymore and not sayto yourself, even if you can't stand
(01:20:31):
Trump, man, they sure usedthe hell out of that, didn't they.
Oh yeah, they did. Theyabsolutely did lawfair. As you know,
Jonathan Turley is cointed. It wouldbe a tough situation if that was
it. I mean, if theygot to that point where they pointed out
(01:20:56):
that, hey, this thing shouldnever been brought, this was should just
never have seen the light of day. It doesn't matter if it did what
it was really meaning to do,which is to stop him from becoming president.
So what do you do at thatpoint? How do you then say,
(01:21:21):
oh, I think everything's above board, I think everything's fine. And
what happens in the future too. That's the other thing that politicians are so
shortsighted on because they want to wintoday and they want to do it in
such a way that they can makea lot of noise and obviously become celebrities,
(01:21:42):
et cetera, et cetera. Butthey want to be in a position
today where they think we want, even if it cost us a bit of
our soul. I'm okay with that, because in the future one ends up
happening. It bites you in theass, and then the next thing you
know, your person running or yourperson doing this, or your person is
(01:22:06):
all of a sudden facing trials andtribulations that they wouldn't have had to face.
And it's funny watching people like Clairemccaskell saying, well, you know,
if we're gonna be candid and honesthere there's no real direct evidence that
Trump did anything, Well, thenwhy are we here? Because everybody said
the same thing over and over again. If we're gonna be honest, if
his name wasn't Trump, this wouldn'tbe happening. But his name is Trump,

have so many questions that have noanswers, but one was Grayson loved.
(01:31:34):
The answer is yes, absolutely tragic. Grayson played in the tournament as Charles
Schwab Colonial in Texas. He playedThursday Friday Withdrew. Friday at like the
sixteenth hole, said he didn't feelgood, putted out, walked off into
the clubhouse and Withdrew. That wasFriday. By Saturday he was gone.

as much as we want to becompetitive, we really are. We're one

(01:35:06):
his family. They asked him ifyou guys want us to stop the tournament.
They said no, Grayson wouldn't havewanted that. And so but you
do think to yourself and saying, how many people you know out there just
quietly suffering, and it doesn't matter. And it's the illness that eats you
up. It doesn't matter that yourlife seems to be all that beautiful fiance
(01:35:33):
and tons of dollars in the bank, something that still eats at you.
And that was a tragedy. Threetwo, three, five, eight,
twenty four, twenty three at ChadBenson shows your Twitter tweet at as text
to program. The election coming upthis year, Jobs and inflation will be
big. How is inflation? Well, inflation's kicking people in the grundle grocerieserves
(01:35:55):
still up, summer down, whichis good. You're gonna find that ups
and downs and certain things, butoverall things are still. Remember when they
talk about inflation coming down, it'sthe cooling. It's the rate of inflation,
the growth of inflation, where maybeit was growing at four or five
percent this time last year, butnow it's only growing at three percent.
But it's not that two percent, which is what we aim for. Then
you have to look at the jobs. How are the jobs. Well,
(01:36:19):
April jobs report not great. Ifyou look at the trend over the last
ten months. The jobs that reallyfuel the economy, which are the higher
paying jobs like office jobs, businessservices technology jobs. We're barely gaining any
jobs there. And a year agowe were looking at one hundred thousand plus
(01:36:40):
jobs coming from those sort of whitecollar job sector, and now we're looking
at about six thousand jobs a monthcoming from that sector. So there's been
a major fall off. And whilethe jobs report is showing two hundred thousand
jobs being created, when you diginto it, you realize a lot of
those are second jobs where people aretaking on extra work just to make ends
(01:37:01):
meet because of inflation. So Ithink the job's picture is not very rosy.
All right, there is Mitch Rochelle. He is a big muckety muck
for Madison Ventures, talking about, hey, look into this thing deeper and
it gets uglier. What's the FEDto do? Problem with the unemployment rate
is, it's just it's that numberis just math, and you have to
(01:37:24):
look more broadly at the numbers. But you just step back. The FED,
whose job is to stabilize the economy, really has two roles. One
of them is taming inflation, andthey've been trying to do that by you
know, raising interest rates. Theirother job is to maintain you know,
full employment in the economy. Soif you look just at the unemployment rate,
(01:37:45):
you'd say that they're doing their jobs. But if you look at the
what's happening with our job picture overall, you realize that the FED has a
lot of work to do. Andthe problem is by raising interest rates,
you sort of destimulate the econ meand what you want to do is stimulate
the economy to create jobs. Sothe Fed's really in a pickle right now,
(01:38:06):
and I think as the months dragon, this is going to become a
bigger and bigger issue. Yeah, bigger and bigger issue. Border is an
issue, inflation's an issue. Abortionmay or may not be an issue,
depends on where you are. Butwhen we talk about what's going to be
the big issues, I mean, obviously war is a big issue. I
(01:38:27):
know Trump was on a couple differentprograms talking about, you know, war
and a few other things. Butthe average person's thinking about this and the
average person doesn't understand what's going on. Remember that poll last week where most
Americans think we're in a recession.They don't understand there's a reason for that.
It's that feeling that's the problem. You know, politicians hang their hat
(01:38:50):
on whatever when they can, butif you've been to the grocery store like
I have, and you buy aloaf of bread and it's now six dollars.
You realize that, wait a second, something's wrong here. You know.
If you go to the if yougo to your favorite fast food place
and you realize that, you know, a big mac is nine dollars,
(01:39:12):
you know something's not right. Andfor the average American, inflation is something
that they feel and they correlate thatin their heads to a recession. You
know, you don't have to studiedeconomics in college at the graduate level to
understand that when prices are you know, unattainable and you have to start cutting
back, that there's something wrong withthe economy. And the best word to
(01:39:34):
put on it is recession. That'swhy Americans feel that way, the feeling
and there's just kind of like feelinglike the other shoe's going to drop at
this moment. In time three, two, three, five, twenty four,
twenty three, Hatch had Benton Show'syour Twitter, tweet ats, texta
program, a little TikTok coming upto route it out, as well as

All right? You feminists picked thebear over men, so I know
you won't get offended by my nextquestion, because I know you guys aren't
dumb enough to think that women aren'tcapable of heinous violence. So men,
would you rather be alone in adesert for ninety days with a woman or
a dog? Which one? Ohthat's a good question, right there?
A woman or a dog? Isit a random woman? Do I know
(01:41:58):
this woman? I'm gonna say this. You can always eat the dog,
but at the same time, youcan always eat the woman. Fall things
with sideways, Oh, Chad, that's not very nice. These are things
I'm pointing out to you. Okay, I want you guys to understand.
These things are pointing out to you, and this is on the heels of
(01:42:23):
would you rather be in the forestwith a toxic, masculine, white male
rapist. No, that's what theythink. Or a grizzly bear or a
polar bear or some sort of bear, because the bear's gonna be nice,
The bear's gonna be kind, thebear's gonna know I'd like the bear.
(01:42:45):
Dumbasses, not very nice. Thisjust sad. This is just what the
hell are you doing? Lady? And the question I get all the time
is how much child support I get. Today, I'm gonna be showing you
all of my baby daddies, andyou guys could guess which baby daddy makes
me the most money. This isme with all six of my kids and
(01:43:06):
potential baby daddy number seven. Now, this is baby daddy number one for
baby number one, Baby daddy numbertwo. Baby daddy number four did not
take me to Florida, but wewent to a pumpkin patch instead. This
is baby daddy number five. Babydaddy number six took me to a wedding
but never asked for marriage. Mygod, ladies, so vaijina not a
(01:43:26):
clown car. I already know someone'sgoing to come on here and be like,
oh my god, you have atype. They all look alike and
I know, I don't have atype, but it's because they're all brothers.
That makes all of them and mykids sister, brother, uncle,
daddy, cousins. I have sixkids and six baby daddies. And the
question I get all the time ishow much child support I get? Oh?
My god? And you know what, that's the question you get?
(01:43:49):
Is that the question you get?You know, like, hey, why
don't you stop having kids? Withall these dudes here? That should be
the question? Oh yeah, thatmight be it telling you kids, I
don't know how we got here wherewe wanted to go online and share everything
(01:44:11):
with everybody. It's the worst decisionI've ever made. Let's tell the world.
Holy geez. Trump on trial. The closings are going to take most
of the day, so deliberations areexpected to start on Wednesday, and Trump
will be in court as he hasfor the last six weeks, and the
trial is clearly on his mind.A Memorial Day social media post devolved into
(01:44:31):
an attack on the judge. Trumpremains under a gag order. But the
judge is fair game, fair game. Judge is an idiot. I'm going
to tell you that right now.He is uh this again. The fear
that I've heard from several different peoplewho are legal, people who worry about
(01:44:55):
this country. Says, here's theirbiggest fear. Trump's convicted of these things.
The election happens, Trump loses bya close margin. He is then
through polling shown that hey, hadyou not been convicted of these because it's
probably the only thing that's going toget the court, you would have probably
won. It goes to appeal afterthe election and they throw it out and
(01:45:23):
say, this is ridiculous. Thisshould never have happened. Hard to explain.
If you're a Democrat, well, you got what you wanted. But
if lawfares, what's going to happen? No, what's coming next? Do
I think he did anything wrong? He slept with an adult film actress.
I call her that performer. It'sprobably a better thing. That's not illegal.
(01:45:45):
Paid her off again, not illegal. The paperwork that may be illegal,
but it doesn't rise to a felony. And you've not proven the thing
that makes this a felony, whichis you committed a crime in order to
commit another crime. He said hespoke to Trump some twenty times about the
hush payment, so he's expected tobe a focus of the defense, which
we'll call him a liar whose testimonycannot be trusted. The closing arguments,
(01:46:11):
starting with the defense, are expectedto take all day. The jury is
not expected to begin deliberating the thirtyfour felony counts of falsifying business records until
first thing tomorrow tomorrow, and they'regoing to hammer Cohen. Trump's attorney is
going to say that of all theevidence, none of it points to any
criminal intent on Trump's part. Lookfor the defense to also attack the credibility
(01:46:31):
of witnesses, especially Michael Cohen, because he gave key testimony. Cohen testified
that he spoke directly with Trump sometwenty times about the hush payment to adult
film star Stormy Daniels less than twoweeks before the twenty sixteen election, and
when Trump reimbursed Cohen. Prosecutors willargue Trump falsified business records to hide it
all from voters. Okay, falsifyingbusiness records campaign violation, that's what this
(01:46:58):
is a misdemeanor. It is notof felony. And remember how we got
here. They pushed the statute oflimitations out further because of COVID. Then
they're supposed to tie this in withanother crime which they've not shown, So
we'll see how this goes. Istill think it only takes one. I've
(01:47:20):
been saying that. But do Ithink there's a chance he's gonna get convicted?
I would put it. I stillfeel like there's a chance he's going
to be convicted. But you neverknow because you only need one person on
that jury that says no. Andyou've got a couple lawyers who might be
looking at this. They may hateTrump, they may like Trump, but
they may sit here and go asa lawyer. There's just no way this
(01:47:40):
thing should have ever seen the lightof day. Hey, kids, that
time of the day when we talkabout well, stupid information, and then
I go and spoil it all.I say something stupid, You'll think stupid
pills this morning. It's the honestones you want to watch out for,
because you can never predict they're goingto do. I'm thinking you incredibly stupid.
(01:48:01):
Now you're the fact stupid one withthe big mouth is stupid. Little
last time, you should never underestimizethe predictability of stupidity. Now it's time
for stupid information. That's right, wrap up with this Tuesday show stupid information.
(01:48:23):
We see people take selfies all day. Everybody's got a smile on their
face and doing this, that andthe other, tiktoks the whole nine yards.
You've ever seen old photographs and wonderwhy don't those people ever smile?
Simple long exposure times. In theearliest days of photography, the lengthy exposure
period's made it impractical to get peopleto smile. In fact, the oldest
(01:48:44):
surviving photograph acquired an exposure time ofeight hours. It's more than a decade
before Louis de Crat's eighteen thirty nineinvention of the de Grone type made the
portrait photography practical. That still tooktwenty minutes. So think about that for
a second. And that's why whenyou never see models smile, it's because
walking around for that long, it'stough to smile. It's a tough job.
(01:49:05):
Kids. That's why you don't seepeople smile in old photographs. Three
two, three, five, eight, twenty four to twenty three at Chad
Benson shows your Twitter tweet at ustext to program solid fun show today as
it always is on Tuesday. I'mnot really a fan of Tuesday. Well
you're not very nice. Go getsome tacos. Night night Jack. This
(01:49:26):
is the Chad Benson Show.
