(00:10):
Independent thoughts, independent life. Thisis Chad Benson. It was the big
boy press conference. And as Isaid yesterday, it doesn't matter what he
does. And the reason is everybodycan have an okay moment when they struggle

(00:34):
with the things that he's going through. Whatever those things are. We see
it, everybody's seen it. There'sa reason the polls haven't moved this much
when it comes to the debate debaclebecause America saw it. It was the
likes of the elites in the mediawho ignored it for years. It was

(01:00):
the people in the party and thestructure there that ignored it but couldn't ignore
it any longer that finally had topay attention. So he goes out yesterday
and again eight months since he's hada press conference. Go look at his
predecessors. They were having a lotmore. And he came out and even

(01:25):
before the press conference it started withoh my god, really, and now
I want to hand it over tothe President of Ukraine, who has as
much courage as he has determination.Ladies, John, I'm a president.
Putin, President Prudent, You've gotbeat President Pusin. President Lensky, I'm

(01:46):
so focused on beating Putin. Wegotta worry about it anyway, it's president
on Beta. Well, it's justa flubb Maybe. The thing is,
though you start to notice these things, you start putting them together, people
will make they'll make all kinds ofexcuses. But it's not just about mixing

(02:07):
up the names here or there, not about every once in a while having
a stumble. He's eighty one yearsold. It's when you put the body
of all of those things together, those puzzle pieces you come up with there's
something really really wrong. So hegets into the press conference, which I'm

(02:31):
gonna tell you right now I wasn'timpressed with, and not so much him.
You can give him see r Blast night. I mean, we
were grading on the lowest curve possibleand we've set the bar so damn low.
It's incredible. But the fact thathe comes out and he's got Okay,

(02:53):
these are the people I'm gonna callupon. I was like, where's
the group the group of people thatare there from the New York Times,
who's having questions from the Washington Post, who are now pushing back from you
know, like Ed O'Keeffe and allof these people who know they were in
the back. It was you know, here's somebody from the AP. They

(03:15):
I mean, they asked some okayquestions, but you know, there wasn't
follow ups, pushbacks, there wasnone of that. So any goes,
there were some Harris questions and that'show we got this. What concerns do
you have about Vice President Harris's abilityto beat Donald Trump if she were at

(03:38):
the top of the ticket. Look, I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump
to be vice president? Do Ithink she was not qualified to be president?
So let's start there. Yeah, that didn't go well. That didn't
go well. And if you therewas some cameras there because he had his

(04:03):
you know, the staff and thecabinet people all in front. You had
you know, Lloyd Austin and Kirbyand KJP, they're all sitting there,
and a couple of them when hesaid, first of all, when he
said the putin thing, they justthey put their hands like, oh my
God, is this Oh God?But it was never going to save him.
It wasn't the fact that people tunedin last night. If indeed,

(04:28):
I don't how many of you watchedit. I've heard from a lot of
you. The reason that people tunedin is they wanted to see if it
was going to be another train wreck. They don't think he's going to turn
this around, because everybody understands whythe polls didn't move that much after the
debate. The debate caused the mediaand the politicians to finally acknowledge what the

(04:57):
American people already knew. This elderlygentlemen has issues that are not just about
aging. That's it. They askedabout, Hey, you're cognitive, should
take a tests, Maybe should takea test? And you said you take
a cognitive test every day in thisjob. Are you open to taking another
physical or test before the election?Governor Whitmer of Michigan, for instance,

(05:20):
said it wouldn't hurt to take atest. Well, look, I've taken
three significant and intense neurological exams bynurse a neurologist, and they say I'm
good shaped, But I'm good.I'm tested every single day by my neurological
capacity to the decisions I make everyday. That wasn't the question, will

(05:45):
you take a test if they thinkthere's a problem, I promise you.
Where they don't think it's a problem, I think I should have a neurological
exam again. I'll do it.No one's suggested that to me now,
and I'll ask you another Ques.No matter what I did, no one's
going to be satisfied. Why won'tyou take the test? If if taking

(06:10):
the test and passing it is goingto shut everybody up, why don't you
take the test and not one ofthose you know bedside tests that that air
Force test is like four hours long. Take the test, shut everybody up,
Come out and say see it's over, it's done with, I passed
it, Or come out and sayI got a step step aside. Last

(06:40):
night wasn't going to save anything. It may have sped some stuff up,
which I think was happening because whileall this was going on yesterday, no
matter what he did last night wasn'tgoing to save it, because the reality
of what is happening now is behindclosed doors. You had Pelosi and Obama
last night talking and this is itstarted. It's started, and I think

(07:10):
he understands that. I think hewanted to come out and show everybody look
not as bad as you think Iam. And he's holding the grasp of
holding on to this is what you'reseeing. It's the last grasp of desperation.
That I don't want to lose this. Well, what makes this moment

(07:30):
in history so unique is that itis not your enemies who are calling on
you to reconsider your decision to stayin the race. It's your friends,
supporters, people who think you've donea great job. Have you spent time
thinking about what it would mean foryour legacy, which you've worked decades to
build if you stay in the racedespite the concerns that voters say they have,

(07:53):
and you lose to someone who youyourself have argued is unfit to return
to the Oval office. Well,I'm my legacy. I'm in this to
complete the job I started. There'sa little bit of the legacy in there.
There is, There is a littlebit of legacy. It was an

(08:13):
okay press conference, but you know, I think we're going to find out
in the coming days that a lotof that stuff he knew what was coming.
It was never going to save him. And he also left the door

(08:35):
open on something happening at the convention, which I think is more more than
likely going to happen. I mean, you can't run him, okay,
what and this is not a Unfortunatelywe're gonna talk about a little bit later.
Too many people are coming at thisin a political way, which is

(08:58):
hard not to do because it ispolitics. But if you remove politics,
and this is just Joe the guydown the street that runs a company with
one hundred and fifty people, somebodyelse is running that company sooner rather than
later. M M. But whatabout Trump? Yeah, that's uh,

(09:22):
that's funny. What about Trump?I said last night because tweeted out some
stuff. People, Oh, youknow, Joe, you guys all want
this, and you're looking for crumbs. He did great, he flubbed a
couple times. You flowed, Yeah, I said, of course I do.
I talk for about six eight hoursa day straight by myself. A
little crazy. That's a human thing. People are going to flub. There's

(09:52):
a stop equating a I misspoke orI got a name confused here one out
of ten hours of stuff. Stopequating that with what we're seeing. And
some of the reaction last night fromsome of the surrogates is just talk about

(10:13):
unhinged and and the I was talkingto my buddy last night about this because
like, did you hear that guy? And it was a Democratic spokesperson runs
the uh UH as the head ofthe Democratic Party in taxes talking about what

(10:37):
a masterclass is was to and andI said to him, I said,
does he does he honestly believe that? I mean, does he does he
really believe that? Is that somethinghe actually believes? Or are you just
following orders? Because if you honestlybelieve that, Wow, that is uncomfortable.
Maybe you should get checked. Icould see it from the political side,

(11:01):
not wanting to get blown out becauseyou heard was it Chris Matthews said
the people that go against them, they're gonna pay for this. I could
see the fear factor in that thatbeing said, if you really believe that
was a masterclass? Woh three twothree, five, three eight, twenty

so you know what that means. We gotta just take a deep breath
and relax, listen to some musicand listen to the things that were said
this week. Thank God it's Fridaynow. I want to hand it over
to the President of Ukraine, whohas as much courage as he has determination,

(13:30):
ladies and gentlemen, President Putin,President Putin. We've gotta be president.
Put President Lynsky. I'm not onehundred dollars walking in my hole.
I know how I'll say. Anybody'sburning a hole right through my fugget in,
do my skin? I money morning, Happy burn It's fine Friday.

(13:54):
I'm done my motor running again. It's fi. Yeah. We were going
to walk up and down the strip, but it's just way too hot to
to do that. We don't wantto pass out and die here. As

(14:16):
soon as we found out he wasan American citizen and he lived in Chino,
California, we knew right then andwe were the stewards of his story.
It's far bed five my motor. It's Joe has made it clear that

(14:39):
he's all in. That's the decisionthat he's made. I feel as long
as I gave it my all andI did to go his job as I
know I can do. That's whatthis is about, that he will weaponize
the Department of Justice against his politicalenemies. Ye, we have a thirty

(15:03):
homy slowly tunity funny fay, I'mThe first rule on that list is for
people not to impart from the fromthe vehicle. According to this official,
these two agents ran into the water, pulled a victim out of the water,

(15:26):
and immediately started rendering aid. Genz will save us. Well,
clearly we don't have much of acrep. I wouldn't have picked Vice President
Trump to be vice president. Ithink she was not qualified to be president.
I want to know what you thinkabout all that's going on. Three
two, three, five, threeeight, twenty four twenty three Right here
on the Chad Benson Show, someof the sounds from the week comment the

(15:54):
cognitive test, will he or won'the? And are you afraid of the
answer? I think the question thatis being missed here. It's like anything
right, people are fighting this entiresituation with Joe Biden in a political realm

(16:18):
where they're saying it's R versus D, it's democracy, it's this, that
and the other. I'm coming atit. Yes, there's politics involved,
but I'm coming at it from Thisisn't about politics. This is about a
man who is struggling cognitively, whohas got something wrong with him, and

(16:41):
that is evident. If this wasin any other career or situation, this
conversation wouldn't be happening. But becauseit's Donald Trump R versus D, democracy
fear, we're approaching it in away that we shouldn't be. Three two

(17:06):
three, five, three eight, twenty four, twenty three At Chad Benson
Show to Twitter, your Instagram. If you're missing the show, make sure
you grab the podcast. So muchstuff still to get to on this Friday.
It's a Chad Benson Show, thenChad Benson Show, Independent Thoughts,

(18:00):
Independent Life. This is Chad Benson. Will he or won't he stay in?
I don't think he really gets todecide that at this point in time.
I think he's do everything he canto stay in. But I said
earlier, I don't think we're askingthe right question. I'm watching a man

(18:21):
who has a serious decline, andthat is evident. It's not just about
a flub here or there. Takethe body of work and put it together.
And I'm talking about the body.We heard doctor Pats earlier this week,
world renowned neurologists say I could havediagnosed him with some sort of Parkinson's
from across the mall. So putit all together. If this was any

(18:45):
other industry, they would have said, it's time for you to go.
But because it's politics, because Trumpis evil, because Trump is bad,
the Orange Man's evil, because ofall of those things, it's a win
at all cost. So the endsjustify the means because democracy is at stake.

(19:07):
Well, obviously it's not that importantif you're gonna run somebody who is
at the point where, depending onthe hour and the day, not with
it, and God only knows what'sgoing on behind the scenes. But approach
it in a way where you sayto yourself, if that was your mother

(19:29):
and father, take politics out ofit the best that you can. That's
your mother and father, how areyou treating the body of work you're seeing
in their life on a daily basis? If that's your boss running the company,
and you're there in the boardroom andyou're seeing what's going on. But

(19:53):
it's not a flub at a meeting. Once in a while, take the
body of work and start to putit all together like a detective would.
You would come at this in amuch different way, But it's hard to
because it's politics, and because theperson on the other side invokes all of
this anger in this, you know, butt clinching, and that he's gonna

(20:14):
destroy the world and he's gonna killeverybody, and ah, all the stuff.
You would come at this in amuch different way if it was anything
but politics, you absolutely would. And that's the sad situation that we find

(20:38):
ourselves in. We can't be honestwith each other. In reality, it's
just about Trump. He's crazy too. Mike Barnacle today, Mike Barnacle on
Morning Joe. Well, what's amazingto me is the amount of attention we
pay in the media, all ofus, to the flubs, you know,

(21:00):
vice President Trump instead of Vice PresidentHarris, things like that. That
stuff has come with the dinner withJoe Biden for forty years, and we
regard it each and every time hemakes a flub. It's shocking. It's
not shocking. What's truly shocking interms of balance, and you referenced it
is Donald Trump's not flubs, hisincendiary rhetoric, rhetoric aimed at dividing the

(21:26):
country, at turning one group ofpeople against another group of people, of
threatening institutions like NATO, of threateninga country like Ukraine, things like that.
We pay less attention to his rhetoricthan we do. Oh my god,
he called her vice president Trump. No, we have to get Iraq

(21:51):
together and balance this thing out.Well, if you're going to balance it
out, you're just getting started withBiden, because for the last umpteen years
you've done nothing but go after Trumpon MSNBC in several other places. Then
go after Trump. Well, hemakes mistakes, of course he does.
He says crazy things, and stopequating saying wacky stuff to you know,

(22:17):
and trying to get a laugh withHe's mentally deranged, but he's gonna be
a meani. I don't again takeTrump out of here. Let me tell
you something. Trump's not running thecountry right now. He wants to,
but he's not. He's not. This guy is That's the difference. Right

(22:45):
now? I'm not talking about who'sgoing to run the country next year in
January, because we'll have a chanceto speak on that November fifth. I'm
talking about right now, and that'swhat we should be talking about. And

(23:08):
last night the big boy press conferencewasn't going to save anything. The writing
is on the wall and they knowit. It is on the wall.
And then I'm not talking about theyas in some Democrats here and there.
I'm talking about even as inner circle, as far as the campaign knows this

(23:29):
thing's not winnable. Well, welearn in talking to a number of sources,
is that there are people who arearound the president who are It's not
just at ballmakers outside of the president'scircle. It's not just Democrats out in
states or party leaders. It ispeople who are actually working on the president's
reelection effort who privately are saying, after two weeks since the debate, that

(23:53):
this just isn't something that Key canturn around. That their view is they're
looking at numbers, they're looking atthe money from donors that's dropping off.
They're already reassessing to downgrade what theirexpectations are for bringing in money fundraising for
this month. They're already cutting backon certain fundraisers in terms of the number

(24:15):
of people who are going to bethere and how much money they're going to
raise. So they're looking at thiswhole set of data and saying that this
is not a winnable situation and thatthis is not something that the president can
turn around. Can't turn it around, and the fundraising thing that whole Clooney.
It was an op ed piece,But nobody reads the op ed piece.

(24:36):
What they see is the quote allover social media about this isn't the
same Joe Biden, you know, the big effing deal in twenty twenty.
The person at the debate is theperson who he is. That is what
they see, and why it's importantis first of all, the reach because
it's George Clooney. Secondly, he'sthe number one fundraiser. Money plays a

(25:00):
massive part in this, and ifthe money dries up the big donors,
which it is, it's going tobe tough to move forward without big donors.
It's going to be tough to moveforward. If the kiddy gets a
little light, he needs to getout of the race, and they also

(25:23):
need to believe that he needs todo so rather quickly. That it's not
something that can continue to drag out. And I think when you're talking about
the president's press conference last night, what people like this are thinking is,
you know, this is putting thepresident out there is something that the White
House has to do. This iswhat Democrats say they want, but it's
as much part of their solution asit is their problem, because when Democrats

(25:47):
are watching what the president is doing, there's anxiety. There's like hanging on
as every word, waiting for somethingto happen and thinking to themselves like,
how did it come to this? How are we judging this president and whether
he can go forward or on himdoing a basic thing that comes with the
job, which is holding a newsconference. It's not about saving it.

(26:11):
What she said there was him beingout there exposes all of the things that
the rest of us have seen foreverin a day that they ignored as right
wing talking points. And the morethat it's out there, the more cover
it gets. So for everybody whowants to come up and say, yeah,

(26:33):
he has to go and we needcover. Though, what did I
say the other day, There's safetyin numbers. There's safety in numbers.
So being that lone voice make itblown out primary you the elites will come
after you, et cetera, etcetera. But if all of a sudden

(26:55):
you go from one so reason, you know that you so if you know
again, if a student of historyNixon Goldwater went over there to have that
talk on that Saturday night about youshould resign? Oh should I or should
not? You know, they gothrough the whole thing. He reminded him,

(27:18):
we have the votes to get ridof you. Safety in numbers,
safety in numbers. And right nowyou're starting to see. I bet by
the weekend there's thirty or forty Democratsthat are saying it's time to go.
And then they're asking the question ofis it sustainable? How can he He

(27:41):
has to get it right every timefor the next four months, and that
is not something that Democrats, includingpeople who are working and like the president
and support him and want him towin this race, they just don't believe
that he has the capacity to doover the next four months. And they
don't think that business win them all. No. Mark Halprin said that his

(28:07):
newsletter's great. It's a great newsletter, but he who has the best sources,
who is the go to for alot of these people in the White
House and around the President. Hewas saying they've been lying to the president
forever in to day, and thatsome of the aides are telling him they
don't think he has the cognitive abilityto understand how bad it really is and

(28:32):
what they're telling it. He's notgetting the truth or he doesn't understand,
you know. I don't think thishas changed much. I think that a
lot of attitudes have now been kindof hardened. When he said at the
end, he might change his mindif his team came to him and told
them that he couldn't win, butthey haven't done that, or that someone

(28:56):
else had a better chance of winning. If that's the case, then they're
not leveling with him about where thisrace is, and they really should.
It's not fair to him if they'renot telling him the truth. No,
but when you're concerned for your job, you are going to do all you

(29:17):
can to preserve your job, atleast until you can find another job.

(31:10):
stuff. We'll do that straight ahead. Chad Benson show Running with Scissors sounds
great compared to this, say Tyageis a landmark year for two of Shelley
Duval's most famous roles. Come Onarn, That'll be so gratchy. She played

(31:33):
Jack Nicholson's tormented wife in The Shiningand Popeye's girlfriend Olive Oil and Popeye and
All at One, Sign You Popeye, directed by Robert Altman. Duvall featured
in seven of his films, includingnineteen seventy five Is Nashville. In recent
years, Duval retreated from the publicEye, and was open about her struggles
with mental health. Her life partnerDan Gilroy said in a statement, Duval
had been suffering for many months, and he's glad she's not suffering anymore.

(31:56):
Shelley Duval was seventy five. Man, I had to see what happened to
her. Some of you, alot of you listening to who Shelley DeValls.
I was talking to my kids yesterdayabout it. I said, ah,
she was because they had seen TheShining and she goes, oh,
you know, we were talking abit about that, And I said,
for me, growing up as ayounger, I didn't see the Shining till

(32:17):
I was a little bit older. But I saw Popeye and it was a
horrible movie, yet at the sametime campy and still made me smile as
a kid. But her mental illnesswas bad. And twenty sixteen she was
on with Doctor Phil and I saidto myself, we've turned people's mental illness

(32:45):
into entertainment, which isn't good. It's awful, But now we're at a
point where it's I mean, it'schaos. That was the beginning of like
WHOA And they asked doctor Phil.I remember he was on Chris Walls and
Just's asked him, do you regretyou know, the way that you guys

(33:07):
interviewed and what you did. Oh, I don't regret what I did.
I regret that it was promoted ina way that people thought was unbecoming.
And it was because the way theydid promote it where they took all of
the craziness and there was a lotof it. This is her talking about

(33:29):
Robin Williams. I had a greattime on Popeye Robin. I loved Robin.
It was so much fun to workwith. He came up with like
the best jokes out of nowhere, like off camera. I knew Robin and
I was sorry when he died.It was this sad day. I don't
think he's dead. You don't thinkhe's dead. What do you think happened?

(33:51):
Well? Beatles escapes, I don'tknow Stone's escapes. Where do you
think he is? Shape? Helooks real good in some forms and other
forms he didn't do you see him? Hans? Yes? Wow. She

(34:12):
also talked about she's got some sortof disk in her leg and if you
guys remember seeing it, and thatshe has been chased by the Sheriff of
Nottingham You're like, wow, itwas just it was tough to watch,
and I'm like, this is thisis entertainment. This isn't the you know,
Haraldo Nazis throwing chairs or that.I mean, this is something that

(34:34):
was real. Now, in fairness, doctor Phil said, look, you
guys don't know the entire story. You guys don't know that. We work
with her for a year afterwards. We did everything we could to help her.
And I have heard that doctor Philand his staff tried to do a
lot of that stuff for the peoplehe talks to. But it was shocking

(35:00):
to see that. But not evenjust so much that as a person who
people of my generation know and loved, and but just in general, is
this what we're gonna do now?Is is crazy the new entertainment? And
then social media sincent has exploded aswe all know. Yeah, crazy can

(35:22):
be the new entertainment. My goodness. Three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four twenty three. That is your tax line as well
as your comment life. Feel freeto leave a comment right there. On
the Chad Benson Show coming up,second hour, A lot of stuff still
to get to. We're going totalk about Project twenty twenty five. What

(35:45):
is it. Should I be scaredif you are the Democrats, you're telling
everybody this is going to change theworld that if you allow this to happen.
Ooh, you don't need to bescared. No, you do need
to be terrified, absolutely frightened todeath. More on Biden. Can it

(36:06):
be safe? No, it can't. We've been talking about that. The
question isn't if, but when.A lot more of that to get to
as well, fall across all ofour social media, and make sure if
you're miss any of the show, you grabbed the podcast. It's a Chad
Benson show. This is the ChadBenson Show, Independent Thoughts, independent life,

(36:51):
this is Chad Benson. The BigBoy Press Conference. Do you think
Jill's gonna come up there? Youare so good? People ask you that
questions that were pre determined and youwould right to him on your card,
and you did so good. We'regonna take you to get ice cream and
you're just good, So proud ofyou. Don't quit this job because I

(37:16):
loved us. Stuff the Big BoyPress Conference? What is everybody talking about
when it comes to the Big BoyPress Conference? Two specific moments. Now
I want to hand it over tothe President of Ukraine, who has as
much courage as he has determination, ladies and gentlemen, President Putin, President

(37:37):
Putin, He's got big President Pusin, President Lensky. I wouldn't have picked
Vice President Trump to be vice president? Do I think she was not qualified
to be president? So let's startthere. So the first one was the
pre press conference NATO function, andthen the second one was during the press

(38:01):
conference. Everybody's so focusing on yeah, because this is it, this is
what people have been talking about.Well, those are only a few mix
ups. It's not about a fewmixups. Take the body of work of
what we've seen over the last eighteenmonths, twenty four months. Said a

(38:22):
year ago, he's not going tobe on the ticket. A lot of
you are like, you're an idiot, You're a fool. He's not not
gonna be on the ticket because hecan't beat Donald Trump. And by the
way, any there, here's twothings that I don't think people are looking
at. It shouldn't even be close, but Donald Trump makes it close.

(38:44):
If this was anybody else but DonaldTrump, if this was Nicky Haley,
the Democrats wouldn't be panicking as much, and they might just say let's just
let it go. Let's let itslide. She's not going to install Project
twenty twenty five. We'll talk aboutthat a little bit. If it was

(39:07):
Nicky Haley, she'd be up byshe'd win the popular vote by god knows
how much, and she'd win godknows how many states. But because it's
Trump, it's close, and becauseit's Trump, the Democrats are panicking.
If this was Nicky Haley against DonaldTrump, they would just let it ride

(39:34):
out behind closed doors, keep iteven quieter than they did, and we'd
get the the the books later ontalking about how bad it really was and
blah blah blah. But because it'sDonald Trump, panick, panick, he's

(39:54):
delusional. He is delusion. Andhow much of that is delusion based on
the fact that he's struggling cognitively, and how much of that is the fact
that people are now at the pointwhere they just don't give him the bad
news. There are other arguments thatare also data based, of that other

(40:17):
people might have a better shot atit. I think that what Nicole points
out about the reality about polling numbersfor incumbent presidents and the real history of
that versus what president Biden said, which was not actually factually accurate as far
as I can tell. That's worryingbecause it makes me worry that the president

(40:40):
is being given information about his politicalstanding that may not be based in reality,
that may be sunnier than is real. And look the stuff that's flying
around now. We talked about itearlier this week. There are aids that
are terrified to give him any badnews. They're putting fluff pieces into certain

(41:00):
situations during his morning briefing because heflies off the handle and he's angry.
Also, assigned people are struggling withcognitive issues. And then there are also
aids that are coming out saying,we don't think he comprehends what's going on.
We don't think he understands what isgoing what we're telling it, he's

(41:21):
not getting. So could some ofit be he and we're not giving him
the real truth? Possibly? Couldsome of it be we told him what's
up and eat nim believe us.Possibly? But Donald Trump, Yeah,

(41:45):
Donald Trump is coming for you inyour womb the way they pitch it,
se Cup last night, conservative ish, that's what she used to be.
She's pissed and angry because she gavethe Democrats. I'll vote. She feels
she's been hoodwinked. It was hardto watch, yet another hard to watch

(42:09):
Biden event. I'm not sad andI'm not laughing at it. I'm actually
pretty mad. I'm mad at JoeBiden and Democrats because I gave them my
first Democratic vote in twenty twenty withthe express understanding and promise that he would
be a one term president, putthere to get Trump out. He did
it. That's why I voted forhim. He said he'd be a bridge.

(42:30):
Now. I've known for years thathe is too old to run again
for another four year term, andI was told by Democrats that he could
still beat Donald Trump. Neither ofthose things are true. He cannot do
another four years. He cannot beatDonald Trump. I feel a bit hoodwinked,
and I'm angry. This is madat Helen. She's not taking it.

(42:53):
You phil hoodwinked. And see that'sthe other side of this is people,
He's not gonna make it four yearseven if he wins, which in
this weird world is always a possibility, if the Democrats can scare up enough
of Donald Trump is coming for yoursoul. But I think voters are are

(43:17):
are wise enough to understand what's happening. They're like, I don't like Donald
Trump. But that being said,we can't have a guy that doesn't understand
what's going on in the White House. And we can't have her as president
because well, could you see hersitting across from Putin? No, I

(43:37):
don't think you can. The gigglercoming up with one of her time is
undeniable in the morning. Look oneof the things you would say or something.
He's like, what's wrong with her? She knows? Well, I

(43:59):
thought less? Go in OUTHWLD.Oh my god? Think about how do
we get here? I read apoll says most Americans are embarrassed by their
choices. Yeah, do you rememberthe South Park episode? I think it

(44:20):
was twenty sixteen, two fifteen, twenty sixteen about the election and the fight
that was going on in the school, and the election was between the Giant
Douche and turn Sandwich. Everybody alwaystalks about the prediction of what's going on
with the Simpsons and their predictions.Yes, that's all I have to say.

(44:43):
That's it. That's it. Kids. Will he get a cognitive test?
How about this? If he's gottena cognitive test? A real one,
which I don't think he has,and they haven't told us. What

(45:04):
you're doing is usurping democracy. Andif you've not gotten a cognitive test and
you've put it off, it's becauseyou know the answer to the question,
oh yeah, I don't know ifhe's going to serve out his entire term.

(45:34):
I don't know if he should. If it was me and I was
damn set going to do this,I'm like, I'm doing it. What
would be the first thing you do? Take that damn test and then show
the world that everything is okay, that it's just the issue of aging,

(45:59):
that it's just the body of workthat you see, because that's what you're
you know, last night was notabout him fixing something that couldn't be fixed.
That's not what that was last night. That was the Democrats pushing the

(46:20):
White House to get him out theremore so they can have cover when they
try to make sure that he hasgone before the convention. They're speeding up
the process, that's what they're doing. They're speeding up the process, which

(46:42):
is understandable. People want cover safetyin numbers. If there's ten of you
out there, I mean, youknow, and like I said, over
the last couple of days, yougo see what happened with the Kin Ginger
and Liz Cheney where they eventually justdidn't run for their stuff even though they
were set against, you know, going after Trump. They knew that unless

(47:04):
a bunch of people were coming with, they were going to be in trouble.
And so everybody's looking around going, okay, is there ten of us?
Oh? There is? Is theretwenty five of us? Is there
fifty of us? Because the biggerthose numbers are, the more cover it

(47:27):
gets for you to not being youknow, to the point where you're worried
about being primaried and or being punishedby the elites, as Chris Matthew says,
which will happen if there's that manypeople, then I think everybody's like,

(47:49):
you know, you do it first, No, you do it like,
because once somebody does it, reallyokay, Okay, we're good,
and they're doing it. And Ihave a feeling by the weekend, I
think it's up to fifteen in theHouse, just one one and a half
or so in the Senate, becausebehind closed doors I hear there's already seven
in the Senate. But how muchby the weekend thirty forty, possibility three

(48:12):
two three, five, three eight, twenty four to twenty three at Chad
Benson Show is your Twitter tweet athis texted program, A lot of stuff
to get to this hour, includingproject twenty twenty five. What is it?
We're gonna discuss it. It's comingfor you. It's from the Heritage
Foundation. If you're a Democrat, you should be terrified. Were my pillow

(48:32):

five dollars extravaganza going on right outmy pillow dot com slash Benson use that

bucks, you get free shipping. It is the Chad Benson Show. You're

(49:46):
listening to the Chad Benson Show.I'm excited for it to be in Milwaukee.
I think Milwaukee's a very deserving city. Unfortunately, I don't know if
I think we have a good candidate. I wish I had a third option,
but I did not like seeing pPresident Trump called Milwaukee horrible city on
Twitter because Wwaukee's a great city.I feel great about it being here.
I think mister Trump does too businessesaround here that's going to help tremendously.

(50:09):
Wisconsin's pretty important traffic wise. Youknow, as someone who lives here,
it's definitely going to be a blowbecause it's kind to be sucked to get
around, and I'm not thrilled tohave him come to a city that he
has already said he hated. Iwould like them to do something about the
border. I don't like what I'mhearing about Project twenty twenty five at all,
so I'm kind of leaning towards theopposite way. Uh, we're going

(50:30):
to talk about Project twenty twenty fivecoming up in a minute. What is
it scary? Those are people inMilliwaukee. They will have the Republican Convention
next week. I don't think theRepublican Convention is going to be all that
we already know what it's kind ofgoing to be. I just don't think

(50:51):
there's anything there that's super exciting.The Democratic Convention. I think it's going
to be the most interesting convention inforever and a day. Chance that Biden
isn't there, chance that Kamala israised up and or they throw it out
there and let everybody fight over it. The Lord of the Flies kind of

(51:16):
thing. It's kind of boring, you know. I mean the Republicans and
I've been to conventions, but asI was telling somebody, the other day.
I think outside of the convention isgoing to be as chaotic and fun
as inside of the convention, becauseyou know that place is going to be
just all of the protesters, thePalestinian protesters, all of that stuff.

(51:38):
That is going to be very interestingto watch, super interesting because you've got
pressure mounting everywhere on these progressive Democrats. I was reading yesterday that the this
is my one of my favorite thingsof the day. Democratic Socialist of America.

(52:00):
Now, these are the people thatput AOC in power, have officially
revoked the endorsement of AOC three twothree five three eight Chad three two three
five three eight twenty four, twentythree on the Chad Benson Show. She

(52:28):
is not anti Zionist enough for them, even though she's one of these staunchest
supporters of Palestine in Congress. Forthem, she's not enough. And I
just have a feeling outside of theDemocratic Convention there's going to be a lot
of protesters. I just think nextweek the convention in Milwaukee's just there's outside

(52:52):
of the vice presidential choice, what'sgoing to happen. There is no real
kind of chaos. We know who'sgonna be the choice. It's gonna be
Trump. We I just and thesethings used to be kind of where you

(53:13):
have found out the old style thatyou go in and everybody shows up at
these things and and you weren't quitesure who was gonna be it, and
people go in the back room andthey're smoking cigarettes and three in the morning,
and then somebody comes out and goes, so and So's gonna represent us.
It's not that way anymore. It'svery anti climatic. Now. It's
more of a party and a gettogether and go on the TV shows and
the radio shows. We're we're gonnado a bunch of stuff. Not from

(53:37):
they're really gonna have people there helpingus and doing stuff. But I just,
I mean, we've thought about goingto the Democratic one. I didn't
really want to go to the Republicanone because I just didn't see the excitement
of it. And I don't liketalking to politicians because they're just well they're
politicians. So there's that three two, three, five, three eight twenty

(53:57):
four to twenty three at your commentand text line. I feel free to
leave a message there. What isProject twenty twenty five? Ooh sounds kind
of omnous. We're gonna find out. Don't go anywhere, kids. It's
a Chad Benson show, The ChadBenson Show, Independent Thoughts, Independent Life.

(54:40):
This is Chad Benson. AT andT revealed to the Securities and Exchange
Commission that a third party cloud platformwas targeted by hackers between April fourteenth and
the twenty fifth. Records own computerphone calls and text messages were taken,
but says AT and T, thecontent of those calls and text was not
compromised. Why is the public justlearning about the hack? AT and T

(55:01):
says in the filing with the SECthat the Justice Department said that delay was
warranted to protect its investigation. Whatyeah, stole six months worth of calls
and text messages of nearly every ATand T cellular network customer. You've been
hacked. The data contains records ofcalls and texts between approximately May first and

(55:23):
October thirty first, twenty twenty two, and on January two, twenty twenty
three. The content of the callsand messages was not compromised. AT and
T wireless networker has about one hundredand twenty seven million devices connected to it.
While the data does not include customers'names, there are often ways using

(55:43):
publicly available online tools to find thename associated with specific telephone numbers. People
are kind of pissed, Why didn'tyou tell us about that? We were
investigating it. It's all we neededto make sure that we kept quiet about
it. If you have a phone, any kind of internet device, Facebook,

(56:07):
a, Friends, to my Space, whatever it is, is he
where I'm going with this. You'regoing to get hacked at some point in
time. You are, You're goingto get hacked, and it sucks,
and no matter what you do,they'll find a way around it. We've
talked about that. We've had expertson the show. We've had expert hackers

(56:27):
on the show say, oh yeah, change your password every three minutes.
I'll figure it out. It's nothard. That's their job. Frustrating.
Speaking of frustrating, last night Presidentof the United States went out there,
gave a press conference not to savehis candidacy and has bit at his second

(56:51):
term. But I think to speedup the process now, you can always
call the program when caller called inabout the Democrats, give him a suggestion
on what to do with Joe Biden. Yeah, I think all the Democrats
should be encouraged to vote early, because when they finally get Biden to drop

(57:12):
out of the race, that meansall those people's vote won't count, and
that half of them vote early, there's no way that Biden will get enough
votes to win the election. Ithink he's joking in a sense of not
so much joking, but he wouldlike to see that happen. I think
he's a Trump supporter. I thinkhe's joking though about the yeah, you

(57:34):
guys should vote now, that's oneof the issues that people aren't mentioning getting
him on the again. Let's justsay tomorrow he drops out. This isn't
one of those situations where you canjust go a week before kind of thing,
you know, like you see Europethey have snap elections. All right,

(57:57):
We're going to hold our election infour weeks, like all right.
Processes in each state are different whenit comes to elections, so getting somebody's
name on the ballot may be difficult. Was it Michigan that came out the
other day said I don't even thinkif Biden dropped out that that they could
get somebody else on the ballot, because apparently that's a tough thing to do.

(58:20):
I don't know if it's laws orwe've already printed the stuff. We
have no more money. It isMichigan. We have no more money on
our credit card. So you guysare gonna have to write in her name.
Uh, we shall see its chaotictimes. It's gonna get worse doing
Trump takes over jed Why because aProject twenty twenty five. Let's not be

(58:45):
trying to play games with these kindsof small things to try to pull us
into a direction. All that mattersin this election, and I genuinely mean
this, all that matters in thiselection. The only thing that matters in
this election is keeping Donald Trump andProject twenty twenty five out of power,

(59:07):
Keeping that insane ideology of white Christiannationalism and white supremacy and white male Christian
dominance out of power. That's allthat matters. Out of power. Nice
try Julie read. By the way, Juli, you seem to lack some

(59:27):
What is Project twenty twenty five? Why is it so e film? It's
quickly become one of the most talkedabout issues of the presidential election. The
Project twenty twenty five plan is nota game. Project twenty twenty five has
been going pretty far well. Reproductivenine hundred look into Project twenty twenty five,

(59:50):
but just what is Project twenty twentyfive. Project twenty twenty five is
an extensive proposal to quickly enact dozensof conservative policy goals the event Trump wins.
The twenty twenty four election proposal ismore than nine hundred pages long,
addresses nearly every major issue from abortionto education. Oh my god, that's

(01:00:12):
right, nine hundred pages. Youlost me at that. It's from the
uber conservative think tank, the HeritageFoundation, which used to be like,
you know, very old school, you know, you know, guys with
pipes think tank. Oh yes, yes, look, I've got patches on
my jacket to hear of my elbows. Gonna be mayor you used to be.

(01:00:36):
Now it's kind of they've gone alittle trumpy in this, but they're
going to try to pin this onDonald Trump, and he's come out and
has disavowed this and said some ofthis stuff is ridiculous. Some of it
in there, it's just regular oldconservative talking points and and stuff. That's

(01:01:01):
what some of it is. Someof it is the wishless of the uber
crazy, which both sides have.By the way, so settle down.
Think of it as kind of agreen new Deal. But on the other
side, like a like a rednew deal. Does it have the support
of Donald Trump? Not directly. In a post on truth Social Trump explicitly

(01:01:24):
distanced himself from the project. Quote, some of the things they're saying are
absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. But themajority of the project's authors are former Trump
staffers, and many of the policygoals stated in the document overlap with those
in Trump's own document called Agenda fortyseven. Yeah, because some of it

(01:01:45):
is just the stuff that conservatives havewanted to see happen forever. That's it
now ched it is Project D twentyfive. Handmaidsdale will become reality. Like

(01:02:07):
that's that's the way that they theypitch it to their voters, like just
scare them, because it's easy todo. Scaring voters is way easier.
Like we could try to convince him, like we could show him the data
and how this would work. Now, just scare them, all right,
just scare them, they said, just go with the scare them side.
Just do that. You just dothat, go with that. The plan

(01:02:30):
proposes to fundamentally change the way partsof the federal government are run. Federal
agencies are led by political appointees, people handpicked by the president, but the
agencies are staffed by civil servants, millions of subject matter experts who can only
be hired or fired based on merit. Civil servants stay in their roles as
presidents come and go. But justbefore he left office, Trump signed in

(01:02:52):
executive order that tried to reclassify tensof thousands of civil servants as political appointees
to make them easier to fire.I have zero problem with that. This
is based on merit. Oh whatis that? Is that a bad thing?

(01:03:12):
Or we we have way too muchgovernment that is inefficient, somebody said
to me the other day, becauseyou know, it's always about small government.
You can have small government that isinefficient, you can have big government
that is efficient. You know whatthe worst is big government that is inefficient,

(01:03:32):
run by bureaucrats that are nameless, faceless that have too much power.
So I don't have a problem withsome of that. And like, let
me tell you something. Ever, like the left has their think tanks,
right has their think tanks. Thinkof it as a movie script, here's

(01:03:53):
the movie script. By the timethe movie gets made, it looks nothing
like the script. It's not wordfor word. They change stuff up.
They add some characters, they takesome characters that have bigger parks, they
just take them completely out. Ohwhoa, Yes, it's a here you

(01:04:14):
go. This is a roadmap. But a lot of it is just regular
conservative. Yes, they have somewacky stuff for there. I'm not gonna
lie to you, but it's ascare tactic. The order was challenged in
court, but Biden was elected andrepealed it before those cases were settled or
the order could take effect. Centraltenet of Project twenty twenty five bringing that

(01:04:36):
order back. The authors say they'reworking on a conservative linked in a database
of potential workers who Trump could immediatelyhire to replace career civil servants and who
would be more eager to enact andenforce his agenda. I think you find
a lot of Americans are like, yeah, these some of these people are

(01:04:56):
the collect checks from the government. They're really not doing a lot. If
you got rid of a lot ofthem, it doesn't change anything now.
But that's the big thing you're worriedabout. Of course, they want to
shrink government. They want us tobe efficient and well run and smaller.
What are they thinking? But it'sthe other stuff chaed They want to get

(01:05:16):
rid of all the portions. Becausehere's the other thing about the modern times
that we live in. You'll seea lot of memes and people talking about
this, and much of what they'resaying or you're seeing is bs. It's
not actually in it. It's madeup because it's designed to scare you.

(01:05:39):
And they'll take something and add alittle mustard, as I like to say,
on to some stuff. So that'swhat Bronjet twenty twenty five is coming
up. Our good buddy Zach Abraham'sgoing to join the show, Chief Investment
Officer Board CAP. We're going totalk about inflation, CPI, the number,

(01:06:00):
what's going on in the market, why is it? The market's continuing
to run and some of these companiesare trading at astronomical numbers when they have
no profit. Talk about that straightahead. Roughgreens are you ffgreens dot com?

Zach Abrahm, chie investment Officer,Board Capital Joints the Show, Chad Benson,
Joe, if you like talk radioline, Chad Benson likes his meals.

(01:08:01):
You've come to the perfect place fortakeout. It's that time of the
week. We sit back, werelax, and we talk a little bit
of the financial world, investing, you know, the economy, Zach abrand,
Chief investment Officer, Bullward Capital,Friend of the show, sponsor the
show. You and I were chattingbefore about the continue expansion of the market.

(01:08:25):
Stuff's going up, no rhyme,no reason. It is a weird
thing. I still feel like there'sa bubble to be burst out there.
What is going on though? Man? Why is stuff trading at twenty thirty
times what it should be at thispoint in time. Well, as always,
I think it's a confluence of differentthings. You Know, what's interesting
is you see some signs of manufacturingbottoming. Right, So everybody talks about

(01:08:51):
the strong growth, Well, ifyou keep an eye out on what's happened
over on the manufacturing side of things, it looks a lot like a risk
for manufacturing. And so there's somesigns that that is bottoming. Now,
that doesn't mean bottoming means it's goingto shoot back up. But when you
look at the market, if Ilook at certain materials, now, the

(01:09:14):
one caveat you got to throw inthere is that while while it looks like
there might be some stuff bottoming onthe manufacturing side, you know, it's
not alarm bell time, but itreally looks like the housing thing has run
its course for now. And whenI say run its course, the upward
trajectory in prices, by and largehas pretty much abated almost all all across

(01:09:38):
the country. You're still seeing printswhere people are like, oh yeah,
houses are six percent higher than theywere last year. Again, I think
that that's just I think that's justconfusion in the data, meaning I just
I still think a much higher percentageof homes that are selling are much higher
priced homes, and so that's reallyimpacting the computation, right, So it's

(01:09:58):
more of a cause. Look aroundat really hot real estate markets around the
country, Phoenix being a perfect example, Chad. I mean to sit there
and say that, you know, house prices in Phoenix are doing the same
thing today that they were two yearsago. That's just not the case at
all. And you're seeing a lotof signs of that up in our neck
of the woods, in the inthe Seattle area, and so you know,

(01:10:19):
there's a lot of mixed signals. But bottom line is all of the
multiple expansion is happening on the techside, and you know, I think
we can stop at Apple. Youlook at Apple right now, trading at
thirty five times earnings. You know, this is a company that in its
growth days, it's really heavy growthdays. Coming out of eight o nine,
you were looking at fifteen to eighteentimes earnings. And you know,

(01:10:43):
like I've said, five out ofthe last six quarters, you've seen pullback.
You've seen declines in revenue and profitability. They're still profitable, Like I'm
not saying they're losing money, right, but just declines in profit, declines
in revenue. And you know, everybody's like, oh, well, you
know we expect iPhone sales to comeout ten percent above year over year.
Okay, we'll do the math.I mean, that still puts you you

(01:11:03):
know, if that holds true andeverything else is static, you know,
you're looking at a stock that's stilltrading at thirty two, thirty three times
earnings. It just doesn't make anysense. So I actually think there's room
for multiple expansion in the market.I just don't think it makes a lot
of sense the stocks that are doingit right. It's all the stuff that
has done well, and a lotof the material stuff has you know,

(01:11:26):
been left for dead. And quitehonestly, that's where we see a lot
of opportunity. It's just not whereeverybody is. Everybody's doubling down on the
tech stuff, and it's just it'sreally hard to make heads or tails of
what they're looking about. There's somuch optimism priced into so many of these
companies that just kind of leaves youscratching your head. And then you go
look at you know, more traditionalmanufacturing, you know, materials, energy,

(01:11:47):
stuff like that that we've talked about. You know, a lot of
that stuff's priced like it's going outof business tomorrow. So I just I
kind of think it is bubbly.I think it's people just chasing what has
worked and really not paying attention tothe fundamentals. And but like you know,
like you and I've always talked about, uh, that could be annoying
and it could be frustrating, butit also means there's other great opportunities out
there one hundred percent three two threefive three eight twenty four twenty three,

(01:13:00):
the Chad Benson Show, Independent Thoughts, Independent Life. This is Chad Benson

(01:13:31):
the Big Boy Press Conference. You'regood. Joe was not about saving Joe
Biden, but strengthening the resolve ofthe Democrats who know they have to move

(01:13:53):
on this fast and get Joe Bidento step down. Got to make it
his gotta make it thing. ThoughI said before the debate, dignity matters.
It does. We all know that. And the reality of it being
your idea, you stepping aside forthe good of the country, that's all

(01:14:16):
gone now because of the debate. All of it's it evaporated because now everybody
knows now. And by everybody,I'm not talking about the American people.
Look at the poll numbers, theyreally haven't shifted that much. And the
reason was everybody in America had seenthe body of work. And I'm not

(01:14:39):
talking about the legislations he got throughand all. They've seen the body of
work as a person, as aneighty one year old who has struggled not
just misspeaking, but grasping a lotof serious, serious issues walking the way

(01:15:01):
he does. The anger issues arecoming out now. I mean, we
can go on and on. Youput it together, it's like you're solving
a mystery. Well, the mysteryhad been solved. The American people knew
exactly what it was because many peoplein America have gone through this with their
loved ones. The denial was themedia and many of the Democrats, congressmen

(01:15:25):
and women and senators who either ignoredit or were really in the dark about
it and thought it was just abunch of malarkey and right wing talking points.
Last night, his press conference againwas not about saving his campaign and

(01:15:46):
shot out a second term. Itwas about let's reinforce this for all of
our members, that we have tomake a move. Didn't start out well
before the press conference. The onlytwo things that people are talking about in
the press conference is the pre pressconference, trying to get Zelensky up there,

(01:16:08):
and of course who is VP isnow? I want to hand it
over to the President of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has
determination ladies and gentlemen, President Putin, President Putin, He's got to be
President Pusin. President Lensky. Iwouldn't have picked Vice President Trump to be
vice president, so I think shewas not qualified to be president. So

(01:16:30):
let's start there. Ice rolled frustration, But it's just the reinforcement of what
they know they need to do.And I'm always being told, you know,
to be the patriot. You know, Trump is evil and he's bad
and blah blah blah. Okay, fine, look, this isn't about Trump

(01:16:51):
right now. This is about thisguy. Because this is the guy who's
the president of the United States. This is the man who is running essentially
the free world. That's what thisis about. It's not about Trump.
You're gonna have your say on Novemberfifth with Trump. This is about this
guy. And because politics has gottenin the way of reality, we turn

(01:17:20):
a blind eye. If Joe Bidenran ABCDEF plumbing down the street and he's
got forty trucks and all these people, if it started to go sideways and
his son and his daughter worked there, they would say, Dad, we
got to remove dad. We've gotDad's got serious problems. If he ran

(01:17:41):
a major corporation and this was happening, you would say we have to remove
that. If he was a coachof a sports team, you would say,
we've got to remove him. Butbecause Donald Trump is on the other
side and it's in US versus, then there's something to win, and some

(01:18:02):
people think the only way to getit done. And it shows you the
confidence they have in Kamala Harris Idon't think they're doing this because they want
to entrust Kamala Moore. I thinkthey do this because they know they have
no choice but to do this,no choice, zero, zilch, nada.

(01:18:24):
So the question is not if,but when is it going to happen
and who's going to be the truthteller? That's the other side. David
Axeron, You know, I don'tthink this's changed much. I think that
a lot of attitudes have now beenkind of hardened when he said at the
end he might change his mind ifhis team came to him and told them

(01:18:47):
that he couldn't win, but theyhaven't done that, or that someone else
had a better chance of winning. If that's the case, then they're not
really leveling with him about where thisrace is that they really should. It's
not fair to him if they're nottelling him the truth. Are they telling
him the truth? Because everybody ishearing now as stuff starts to actually come

(01:19:13):
out, Oh yeah, yeah.We don't even like morning briefings. We
only tell him good stuff. Wedon't tell him bad stuff because and and
the people argue according to his aid. So they're arguing over who's going to
deliver a bad message because he he'sprone to anger. And then the other

(01:19:35):
side of it is if you aren'ttelling the truth, that makes me see
either you're either ignoring it or you'redelivering fake data. There are other arguments
that are also data based. Ofthat other people might have a better shot

(01:19:55):
at it. I think that thewhat Nicole points out about the the reality
about polling numbers for incumbent presidents andthe real history of that, versus what
President Biden said, which was notactually factually accurate as far as I can
tell. That's worrying because it makesme worry that the president is being given
information about his political standing that maynot be based in reality, that may

(01:20:19):
be sunnier than is real. Wohso, which is it? Are you
not telling him stuff or are you? Are you giving him fake data?
Which doesn't help this at all.The whole thing is just it's ugly and
it's sad, and the politics hasgotten in the way of watching a person.

(01:20:44):
You know. Earlier, we talkedabout Shelley Devall. She passed away
yesterday. She was seventy five. You don't know who she is. She
was an actress. She's the wifeof Jack Nicholson in the shining. She
played Olive Oil and Popeye, andover the last ten years her struggle with
mental illness was really brought to lightbecause of doctor phil and this this you

(01:21:09):
know, I mean, she shewas out there. Everybody knows, and
everybody knew at the time that sheneeded help, that there was serious issues
with her saying that Robin Williams isn'tdead. He's a shape shifter. I
see him all the time. Well, because there was nobody on the other

(01:21:29):
side, people knew that she neededhelp and that that that whatever was going
on in life, she couldn't continueto function in a way that was real.
Because Donald Trump's on the other side, we're we're we're using you know,
the Democrats are using Joe Biden asthis. But we got to beat
Joe at all We gotta beat donat all costs. We can't let Trump

(01:21:51):
win at all costs, even ifit means we gotta do whatever we have
to do. Hide this guy, light to the American people about how good
he functions, Do all of thosethings, because that is more important to
us. But take away the politicsof it, and you know, the

(01:22:15):
right thing to do is he can'tcontinue like this and his people know that.
Well, we learn in talking toa number of sources is that there
are people who are around the presidentwho it's not just at lallmakers outside of
the president's circle. It's not justDemocrats out in states or party leaders.

(01:22:38):
It is people who are actually workingon the president's reelection effort who privately are
saying, after two weeks since thedebate, that this just isn't something that
he can turn around. That theirview is they're looking at numbers, They're
looking at the money from the donorsthat's dropping off. They're already reassessing to
downgrade what they're expectations are for bringingin money fundraising for this month. They're

(01:23:03):
already cutting back on certain fundraisers interms of the number of people who are
going to be there and how muchmoney they're going to raise. So they're
looking at this whole set of dataand saying that this is not a winnable
situation and that this is not somethingthat the president can turn around. No
they can't. And that donor thing, you know, a lot of that

(01:23:24):
came from the George Clooney. Imean, the debate thing had a lot
to do with it, but theGeorge Clooney thing that came out this week,
and nobody read the op ed ofvery few people did. People saw
though what he said, the quotes. I posted it. You know on
the interwebs, you go to AtchadBenson jone check that out. But he
was the largest fundraiser Clooney was,so money is also an issue. They

(01:23:50):
know they can't get over the hump. They know it isn't going to happen.
And people I talk to and nowit's being reported. Mark Halpern's reported
it. I think the Wall StreetJournal reported. I think the Washington Post

(01:24:11):
even reported it that some of hisaides don't even think he's grasping some of
the day to day things that aregoing on, and don't think he has
an understanding. Not that he's defiant, they don't think he gets that this
is not winnable and what is goingon, which is scary. Indeed,

What's trending? Signed James Dean,Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar,
Russia, Sera, what traping? That's fine? That what's trending on

(01:26:57):
the old Internet, the interwebs.Glorious Friday. We'll start with Twitter.
Eminem got a new album, TheDeath of Slim, Shitty Coup de Grace.
What good Friday trending. Vice PresidentTrump talked a bit about that long

(01:27:21):
Legs movie. It's a new NicholasCage movie. I think he plays a
serial killer. It's out today. It's supposed to be really good. Brand
new dance road Rage Carl Rove,VP Trump, Caitlyn Jenner Biden press conference.

(01:27:45):
All trending right now, Head onover to the magical world of Yahoo,
the SB Awards, Donald Trump,New Or Kankees Prince Harry, Katie
Perry, Cooper Flag. You don'tknow who. Cooper Flag is seventeen years
old, heading into Duke this yearas a freshman to play basketball there.

(01:28:05):
He has been playing against the UnitedStates men's team along with several other NBA
and some college players as they getready to prepare for the Olympics. And
he's going to be the number onepick next year, and he's been dominant
at times against the guys going tothe Olympics. It's crazy. I would

(01:28:27):
have thought because there was an injuryand one of the guys had to pull
out. If I was the USOlympic basketball team, I would have picked
him. Not a great story thathad been Alec Baldwin, Tour de France,
Tour de France ball trending and finallyover to Google trends. Number one
trending thing yesterday, the shining ShelleyDeVault passed away. Yesterday. She was

(01:28:47):
well the Gothic heroin three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four, twenty three. Thatis your text line and your comment line.

Oh My Goodness, em and mHarrison Butker apparently was called out last
night by Serena Williams at the SV'sCPI. Vice President Trump are some of
the things trending on the interwebs.A lot of stuff still to come up.

(01:29:29):
Obviously, we're going to talk alittle bit more about the press conference.
We've got sound Salad coming up.If you don't know what sound salad
is you're new to the show,God bless you. Thanks for listening.
Some of the stories we didn't getto this week, and there are plenty
of stuff out there that we didn'tget to that we kind of just run
through really quick. And this weekhas obviously been dominated by the thing that's
going to dominate everything for the comingweeks until there's some sort of decision that

(01:29:51):
everybody understands is going to happen, and that has been Biden and whether or
not he's going to stick in thisrace. It's you know, we've got
the Republican Convention next week, acouple weeks out, we've got the Democratic
Convention. I don't know what toexpect next week from the Republican Convention.
I don't think it's going to bethe thing spectacular, but the Democratic Convention,

(01:30:13):
And I was talking to a coupleof people yesterday, outside of the
convention is going to be as wildas inside of the convention because of all
of the protesters that are going tobe there, and there's going to be
a plenty of them, from thePalestinian protesters to who knows what other group
is going to come out and protest. Yeah, the next couple of weeks
is going to be chaos in theworld of politics, interesting history making,

(01:30:38):
all of the things that you thinkit might be. I think it will
be, and I think it willactually be even more than that. Sound
salad straight ahead. It is theChad Benson Show. Such Chad Benson Show,

(01:31:15):
Independent Thoughts, independent life. Thisis Chad Benson. A traveler's foiled
plot to smuggle over one hundred livesnakes into China by hiding them in his
pants is as hair brained as itis hysterical. The suspect was stopped at
a security checkpoint between Hong Kong andmainland China, where officials discovered six canvas
bags in his pants containing one hundredfour slithering snakes of various shapes and colors.

(01:31:41):
Of the five species found in thefind, four of them are not
native to China. No word onwhether the suspected serpent smuggler was arrested or
just got a slap on the wrists. Ah. The way it is,
it is sound solad. Every Fridaywe get through some stories that we just
have time to get to this weekbecause especially this week, because it's been

(01:32:03):
so dominant the story of the lastreal two weeks, which is Joe Biden
isy or is you're gonna go?So let's let's talk about some of that
stuff. Don't take snakes into Chinathat aren't supposed to get there, especially
in your pants. We move onfrom there to the Save Act. Save
Act was passed in the House. It's not gonna get anywhere in the Senate.

(01:32:26):
Essentially, it is a I'm gonnatry to keep it simple. Stupid
Democrats voted against it, Republicans votedfor it. It's about proving you're a
US citizen while you know, asyou register to vote. But it goes
a little bit further, like provingthis by having a passport, which not

(01:32:47):
a lot of people have. Tobe honest with you, if most Americans
don't have it, I only thinkforty some percent of Americans have passports,
and or bringing your birth certificate stuff. I don't have a problem with it.
I think it's already a legal tovote if you're not a US citizen.
Now, this is the federal sideof things. There are things that
you can vote for if you area resident alien that are local. We've

(01:33:10):
talked about that, school districts andthings that nature. Where this is on
the federal side of stuff, butdoesn't mean if you're a Democrat you don't
take a shot and you know JimCrow and all that stuff. Only citizens
can vote for the United States Senate. Only citizens can vote for the presidency
of the United States. So thisextreme Maga Republican voter suppression bill is not

(01:33:30):
designed to solve any problem on behalfof the American people. It is designed
to jam people up and prevent Americansfrom voting. That's not true. Look,
we've got some issues with our elections, and a lot of that stuff
is the fact that some people don'ttrust elections. Some people don't trust what

(01:33:55):
happened during the last election. Therewere questions that needed to be asked.
The problem is the people starting toask the question. I'm going to talk
about Donald Trump, I'm talking abouta lot of other people that got in
front of all of this were grifterswho made money on it and put wacky
stuff out there rather than asking seriousquestions. When you get the clowns asking
questions, you're not gonna get peoplethat take you serious. And on the

(01:34:19):
left side of the aisle, guesswhat. Stop saying everything's Jim crow.
Stop saying getting a license is impossiblefor people of color and treating people of
color as if they're stupid. Weknow they're not. And if you ask
somebody who's black, oh, Brad, Dave, you got a license,

(01:34:39):
they're gonna tell you yes. Republicanswant to throw up barriers because when people
vote, they lose. Let mebe clear, they don't want you to
vote. They don't want to hearblack voices, brown voices, LGBTQIA voices,
young voices. Our fundamental access toour democracy is being politicized, and
this xenophobic attack that we're debating todaya will make it harder for Americans to

(01:35:01):
vote. My Republican colleagues will claimthat requiring IDs is a small ask,
but nearly thirty million people lack abalot driver's license, and about fifteen to
eighteen million adults don't have access todocuments proving their birth or citizenship. Americans
don't need more obstacles. It's alreadyhard enough. Rep Lee right there,
Why don't you have a driver's license? Why don't you have documents to prove

(01:35:27):
your frem here? Those are allfair questions. You just it's not about
putting. And by the way, why'd you throw the LGBT community in there?
Like because you've got to add onto all the stuff. So the
Save Act got through. It's gonnadie both sides. This is politics one
oh one. Scare the other side. It's the best thing that you can
do, just easier than trying toreason with people anymore. So like we

(01:35:50):
could reason with you, but it'sjust easier to scare you. Three two,
three, five, three, eight, twenty four to twenty three at
Chad Benson Show, as your Twitter, tweet at as text to program.
New study out about cancer says thatit's not just genetics. Because for years
people say, yes, there's thingsthat you can do that can slow the

(01:36:11):
potential for cancer, stop it insome ways, shape or form. But
the reality is a lot of hisgenetics. Well, they're finding out now
that's not one hundred percent true.In fact, there's a lot that you
can do when it comes to avoidingcancer, smoking and drinking being number one.
So many people are understandably terrified ofcancer and think it's largely genetic,

(01:36:32):
it's out of their control, butthat's not true. About half of death's
might be prevented by things we canactually do something about. It's really hard
to stop smoking, we all knowthat, but it can be done,
and it's a lot easier never tostart in the first place. Some strategies
for preventing death from cancer are relativelyeasy to do, but we're simply not
doing them well enough. Infection withhuman papillomavirus that's HPV can lead to cancer

(01:36:57):
of the cervix and women, andthroat and tongue in men. There's a
vaccine that can prevent HPV infection, but less than forty percent of eligible children
receive at least one dose, andabout forty percent of infected Americans don't know
they have hepatitis C, a virusthat can cause liver cancer and is easily
curable. They don't know because theyhaven't had a simple streaming blood test,

(01:37:17):
which the CDC recommends for all adults. Not that hard. You know what
else they recommend. I'm gonna throwthis out there. A little bit better
diet and exercise, sunscreen, thingslike that. But smoking and drinking are
huge, big deal. I mean, this is a huge thing. You

(01:37:39):
live long enough, cancer is probablygonna at some point in life be a
part of your life. But toknow that it's just not all genetics that
you're just like, well that that'shuge. But did we really need a
study to go, Hey, youknow what if you if you didn't really
smoke and you really moderate your drinking, it's going to be good for you.
Lose a little bit of weight, work got a little bit, you're

(01:38:00):
gonna be healthier. I thank godthey did a study on that. Oh
my goodness. Speaking of the medicalworld, how about a new Larnix.
Marty Keatyan is so grateful. He'sregained his voice. I want people and
tho thiss can be done and it'sa brass, but it's worth it.

(01:38:21):
Dozens of surgeries over a decade fora rare form of laryngeal cancer eventually robbed
Keatian of his ability to speak, swallow, and breathe normally. His wife,
Gina, found a clinical trial atthe Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Doctor
David Lott determined Marty was a goodcandidate, and surgeons removed his larynx and
transplanted a donated one. My patientstell me, yeah, I may be

(01:38:45):
alive, but I'm not really living. And so to me, if you
look at it from that perspective, being able to give that gift back to
somebody, to me, that reallyis a vital organ. That's a great
thing. So this guy couldn't speak, It was it. It was done,
and they transferred the larynx, thevoice, but the whole nine thing,
the whole nine yards into his throatand he can now talk. They

(01:39:06):
probably he probably should ask for adifferent accent, got himself basting one,
like can you give me a reallycool one? What if the only thing
you could do is sound like this, I'm like I'll pass. Six surgeons
performed at the twenty one hour transplantusing new microsurgical techniques. They connected nerves
critical for Marty to feel when heneeds to swallow and move the vocal cords.

(01:39:29):
Transplants usually aren't an option for peoplewith active cancer, making Marty's case
the first of its kind globally.I think there's a fair number of patients
that would benefit from this. It'simportant in this case and in all of
medicine that we do trials so thatwe can establish the safeties. I gsard
to my eighty two year rowd motheron the phone. Hej could hear me.

(01:39:56):
The transplant took place in February.Marty still sounds hoarse, but he
we can have conversations even zooming withhis young granddaughter. No matter what,
Gina, I'm getting my voice back. I'm keeping my voice for her.
No matter what, Gina, keepmy voice for you. Now, let's

(01:40:17):
get in the CA and we'll goto the Yad. Just amazing. That's
the beauty of modern times. Forall the chaos we talk about politics,
all this stuff, we live inin the best time in human history.
We really really are. I mean, the modern world is so amazing.
It's so incredible. I love watchingWesterns and they'll be like, I gotta

(01:40:41):
go to this town. How longis It's like fifty miles. How long
is it gonna take you to getthere? Three days? It's like,
Wow, we live in the besttime ever. And I remember as a
kid growing up thinking I'd watch alittle house in the prairie, thinking,
man, I'm glad I didn't lookback then. They didn't have kalike covision,
they didn't have cars. Now welook at my kids and I never

(01:41:05):
get are we there yet in acar when we're doing something. Why,
Because they're all watching the internet doingthe same damn thing they'd be doing at
home. Oh yeah, it's agreat time. And the medical stuff,
oh, with AI and modern medicine, where it's going, it's going to
be huge, going to be huge. It is sound solid. We're looking

(01:41:27):
at some of the stories that wedidn't get to this week, and we
wish we did, we just didn'thave time. And finally, lawsuit tragedy
one chip challenge, remember that happeneda couple months ago. Families finding a
suing to their kid died. Westerteen's family wiping away tears. They struggle

(01:41:50):
with this horrible situation every hour ofevery day of their lives, filing a
wrongful death lawsuit against the company Pockeyand Hershey, the creators of the viral
one chip challenge. Their son, fourteen year old Harris Wolova, died shortly
after eating the spicy tortilla chip lastyear. This pepper is said to be

(01:42:12):
several hundred times as strong as jalapenopepper or hot withsabi. Not several times
as strong, several hundred times asstrong. The family's attorney accusing the company
of marketing the chips to kids, the challenges, the cartoons, the enticements,
everything that would attract kids. Outside, we see a snake with a

(01:42:32):
venomous fangs wrapped around a bloody skull. The box itself is shaped like a
coffin. Imagine that shaped like acoffin. Yeah, it's a uh.
He had issues with his heart aswell. He was fourteen years old that
he no had issues with his heart. But there's reason I've seen these things.

(01:42:56):
You know. You go into thestores and that's right there and look
like a coffin. There's a coupleother ones, and one comes in a
bag but it's got that you know, it looks like a like a cobra
with the fangs, and it comeswith just a chip. My friend the
other day goes, well, howmany chips coming to I said, it's
not a bag of chip. Itis a singular chip, you're bint.

(01:43:17):
And what is in it is CarolinaReaper and Naga Viper peppers. The Reaper
is one point seven to two pointtwo million Schulville heat units. The Naga
Viper is about one point four.So it's a tragedy and it's a shame.
I'm surprised that it hasn't happened moreoftative and it kids are trying these

(01:43:41):
things. I mean, we gota television show where you eat this really
hot stuff and they bring stars onan interview. The autopsy report showed that
Harris had an enlarged heart that madehim more vulnerable. It was undetectable.
Parents didn't know it. Harris didn'tknow it, the coaches didn't know it
while he ran up and down thecourt with endurance every single day of the
week. Walgreens sold the poisonous chipto children. The defendants charged about ten

(01:44:08):
dollars for each chip. Ten dollarsfor the chip that killed Harris ten dollars
for his life. It's a tragedy. It's I don't know if you can
blame the chip people, but you'llsee a lot of this because we got
the Internet and that TikTok and thechallenges are out there, and this I
think was the tragedy. They'll settleeventually. I bet you they do.

(01:47:55):
Wow. The first little one thatlist is for people not to embark from
the vehicle. According to this official, these two agents ran into the water,
pulled a victim out of the water, and immediately started rendering aid.
Gen Z will save us. Well, clearly we don't have much of a
choice because older generations really drump thefucking ball on this one. I'm also

officially challenging crook of Joe to aneighteen old golf BacT. And the same

I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trumpto be vice president. I think

(01:49:00):
the Republican National Convention. But Idon't really think that's going to bring us
anything crazy or exciting outside of who'sthe VP pick is going to be.
But you still have what is hangingover Joe Biden and the Democrats is how
do you move on from him gracefullyif you even can at this point in
time, And who is going tobe the messager that will deliver that message

(01:49:23):
or you're going to let the Americanpeople do it? On November fifth,
and it's still not a certainty thatTrump is going to win, but I
would put it in the almost certainfile. There will be twist in this
tale, There's no doubt about that. You guys, have a blessed and
