Speaker 1 (00:11):
The Chat Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
How do you feel about the economy. That's what matters.
Nothing else matters when it comes to the economy, how
you feel about it. We can sit here and talk
about inflation. We could look at pole numbers. We can
do this, we can do that, we can, but how
you feel matters. It does how you feel. If you

(00:35):
feel that you are fine, you got nothing to worry about,
your job is safe, You're going to have money, you're
making a little bit more. You say, hey, I got confidence,
You're going to spend and act much different than if
you're scared, if you're uncertain, If you're not sure, I

(00:58):
don't know what's going to happen. It's going to go
purchase something that I've been looking at, but now I'm
a little scared. So that's why consumer confidence is the
biggest indicator in my mind on the economy. If you
feel like, eh, you know what, I was thinking about

(01:21):
buying this new car, but uncertain times not quite sure,
And it's not just about the terriffts of this, that
and the other. I'm not sure what's happening, and I
don't want to be in a situation where this is
going to become a burden, So I'm going to hold
off on that. That is the confidence. Your job's still there, right,

(01:48):
the industry you're working in is still there and going,
but you're uncertain about what's going to happen. Oh oh yeah.
How do people feel today?

Speaker 3 (02:02):
We are halfway through President Trump's first one hundred days
in office, and there are new signs that his honeymoon
with the American people on what has been his strongest
issue may be over. Take a look at CNN's exclusive
new poll. A majority of Americans fifty six percent, now
say that they disapprove of Trump's handling of the economy.

(02:23):
He's underwater on the issue that voters care about the most,
the issue that got him elected.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
The issue that got him elected, and by the way,
the issue that got him elected was an issue of
his poor management by the last guy. Here's something you
won't probably hear anywhere else. If the economy was rocking
and rolling and inflation was low, they didn't care that

(02:50):
he was brain dead, they didn't care that he potentially
had dementia. They wouldn't have cared about anything. He could
have gone on stage that night during the debate to
do it, which you kind of did, and nobody would
have cared. We're like, ah, we're killing it. Things are great,
but it wasn't that way.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
The economy is issue number one by far for Americans.
As indicated in this poll, his approval rating on this
issue is forty four percent. Trump's disapproval rating fifty six
percent of Americans disapprove of his handling in the economy.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
We've never seen him that.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Far underwater and upside down in terms of approval and
disapproval on this issue in his entire presidential career. Look here,
it's usually a strong suit for him. You see, we've
had him at forty four percent approval before, but never
with fifty six percent disapproval.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
That's not good. But it's early. Remember they're fifty days in.
So let's just I know, the need jerk reaction for
everything is it's over. It's done with panic, and that's understandable.
That is, you know, you look at the stock market,
you're like, oh my god, it's going down. Well, why

(04:01):
are you looking at the stock market? Well, because you
know it's going down yet, but you're not taking money
out of the market today. It's not your job. Your
job's your job is your job? The four one k
and you know the market itself. And we talked to
our buddy zach Aabraham all the time, chie investment officer
her Borg, who this is what he does for a living.

(04:21):
He said, how many times you heard to say this
market is ridiculous? You know, it doesn't make sense. So
that's not the greatest indicator. If you're retiring and you're
close to retirement, yeah, you're a little terrified. But like
I said, the consumer confidence side of things is what
mattered and what that tells me. And again this is

(04:43):
a left leaning pole. See and n people are nervous.
People are nervous about what's going on.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
How are people feeling more broadly then, not just about
the president his hand, and more broadly about the Trump
administration so far.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Take a look.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
You noted at the top some of his scores on
some issue are the best he's ever had.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Immigration.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
He's a majority approval fifty one percent of Americans approve
of what Donald Trump is doing on immigration. He's close
to half on managing the federal government and the federal budget.
But you see there's his overall job approval forty five percent.
We were talking about the economy right there, forty four percent,
healthcare policy, foreign affairs, and tariffs only thirty nine percent

(05:22):
approve of the way Donald Trump is handling tariffs.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
The tariffs is well, first of all, I have to
be honest with you. I'm at the point now it's like,
I have no idea who we're tariffing, what time those
tariffs are going on, if they're going on at all,
if they've been on and they've been taken off, I
have no idea, do you. I didn't know. So we're
tariffing Europe now, and we were teriffing Canada, but then

(05:51):
that's been paused. I'm not sure what's going on with Mexico.
I'm trying to figure out, you know, it's there's a
lot of moving parts there. And one thing I know
about us is we want it simple. How does this
affect me? If it doesn't, then I don't care. Just

(06:13):
give me the kiss, keep it simple, stupid answer, That's
all I want.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
We also ask how are things going in the country today,
and take a look Kate. Thirty five percent say well,
sixty five percent say badly, but good news for this
White House potentially In January, that thirty five percent number
was twenty nine percent, So a little bit of an
uptick in the last month in the perception of people saying,
how things are going in the country.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
How do you feel things are going? How do you
feel about the economy? Does Trump need to address it?
Carolyn Levitt was asked that buy a Fox reporter. Hey,
does he need to get out there and have like
an oval office kind of a thing where he addresses
what may be coming with tariffs in the economy to

(07:01):
maybe ease people's minds.

Speaker 6 (07:04):
Is it time for the president to do an oval
office address maybe and try to explain to people.

Speaker 7 (07:09):
That it might be bad for a little while, but
it is in fact worth it.

Speaker 8 (07:15):
I think the President has been incredibly clear Jackie on
where he stands and what he envisions for the future
of America. He wants to restore this great country as
the manufacturing superpower.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Of the world.

Speaker 8 (07:26):
And we have the ability to do it because we
have the best market, and we have the best workers,
and we have plenty of resources right here at home.
What we need are these companies in these CEOs to
recognize that, to trust in President Trump and to move
their business here.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
And many of them already are.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Some of them are We're never going to be the
superpower that I think that they try to pitch the
dream that's just not going to happen. You can bring
back some manufacturing jobs, but there is no guarantee, by
the way, that bringing back these jobs are going to
push wages through the roof and you know, get people

(08:06):
buying American again. There's no guarantee. And I would we'd
all love to just all buy American. Wouldn't it be
just great? We're all buying American and our close allies
and our trading partners are real clue, we're buying their stuff,
but nobody else's stuff. And we're not exploring jobs, we're
keeping them here. We're exploring only our goods. It's that

(08:28):
come on, stock them deep, sell them cheap. That's what
people want, and we're a consumer based nation. I've said
it once, I'll say a thousand times. I'll probably say
a thousand times more and then some that's what we want,

(08:49):
this dream of we're gonna be bringing it back, and
it's gonna be all Union label and stuff like. It's
not happening. It's not. You sound very very anti Trump. No,
I live in a world of reality. I think most
of us understand that that just isn't going to happen.

(09:11):
And like I said, I've been saying for a long time,
the economy is the thing that drives everything when it
comes to politics and politicians. If the economy's good, it
cures all ills, no matter what else is happening. And

(09:34):
even with inflation numbers yesterday, there's that battle out there.
We're not quite sure. It's going to take a while.
Whatever is going to happen, it's going to take a while.
And I do think there's going to be bumps in
the road, because that's life. Three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Show. Is
your Twitter tweet at US text the program Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine.

(09:58):
Here's one thing you How is Trump handling Ukraine. Well,
we're going to find out. The ball officially is in
their court. How this goes from here on out is
going to be very interesting because they now have to

(10:21):
figure out what they're going to do. The Russians because
it's like the NFL draft, you're officially on the clock.

Speaker 9 (10:31):
Kremlin's reaction so far to the US Ukraine proposal for
a thirty days CEASEPI has been very cautious, saying essentially
that they're studying it and will not be pushed into anything.

Speaker 10 (10:42):
Now.

Speaker 9 (10:42):
I think that reflects that this has put Vladimir Putin
in a dilemma. Putin, including as recently as January, has
categorically rejected any temporary ceasefires, insisting on a full deal
that gives Russia most of what it wants. But Putin
will not want to reject this out of hand because
that would risk alienating present Trump.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
And he can't do that because he needs Trump. Trump
wants this thing done. Everybody does, so it is now
really on them and I they're gonna reject it immediately.

(11:23):
And then Steve Whitkoff, the guy that's going out there
to handle these negotiations, He is the most important person
in this, Not Trump, but Steve Whitcough. He seems to
be the true master negotiator of getting stuff over the line.

(11:43):
And we'll find out if he can. Three two, three, five,

(13:11):
for a shutdown. I know I am. Nobody wants the
shutdown on their watch. Everybody wants a shutdown. Nobody wants
to be blamed for the shutdown, but they want the
shutdown to happen if it's on the other side. If
that makes sense. Oh, so the Continued Resolution gets through

(13:31):
the House. Now it's like it's up to the Senate.
What's going to happen at the Senate. Oh my goodness,
it's who cares pass it? Don't pass it. First of all,
you guys should have done this a long time ago.
Remember this is this is the bill that was supposed
to be done last September. We are far removed from that.

(13:58):
I just want to point that out. Not since ninety
six have they passed a budget on time.

Speaker 11 (14:05):
Republicans do not have the votes in the Senate to
invoke cloture on the House CR. Our Caucus is unified
on a clean April eleventh CR that will keep the
government open and give Congress time to negotiate by parties
in legislation that can.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Pass, that can pass. I don't know if it's going
to pass or not. I don't know what's going to
get done at this point in time. What's cloture essentially
knowing that you've got enough votes to override any kind
of thing happenings. You got the sixty votes, So if
they want a filibuster, it limits the philibuster to a

(14:46):
certain amount of time and then it's over and you
vote and you get it done. These are all the
wacky rules that are out there. I don't care if
you pass or if you do pass. It doesn't mean
anything to most people. They don't really care, doesn't affect
their lives that much.

Speaker 12 (15:06):
Democrats are going to have the choice to vote for
whether you want it's the culture or the final one,
you know, and if you refuse to or you withhold
your vote, you are you're voting about shutting the government down.
And so that's that's always been my point. Now it's
a cr that that we all agree we don't like

(15:26):
and we don't we don't co sign on all of
those elements. But for me, it's about we can't ever
allow the government to shut down.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
I mean you can three two, three, five, three, eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Show, because
your Twitter tweet at is texta program right here on
the Chad Benson Show. If the federal government shut down,
they always threaten it. Republicans, you're always related shutdown. Okay,

(15:57):
let it shut down. See what happened? You guys battle
out amongst yourselves. What do you mean you don't care,
cause you guys all threaten it all the time. We're
gonna let it shut down. It's gonna be your fault.
It's always about whose fault it is. Nobody's ever trying
to solve a problem. They're always trying to blame somebody

(16:18):
for the problem. Fix it. My old boss used to say,
don't bring me a problem, bring me a solution. That's
what we say to you. Here's a solution for you.

Sun, Chad Benson Joe, The.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Chad Benson Show, The Battle of Doge.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
It's funny. We were listening to the Holes earlier and
they were talking about how the economy side, which normally
Trump does really well on, is the lowest it's ever been,
but other things are the highest they've ever been for Trump,
including you know, the deficit, the debt, the bureaucracy side

(18:29):
of things in the way he's taking it on and
with the help of Elon, that's happened. Now, let's be real.
Government is ridiculous. It's not about the size. And it's
funny when people talk about the size of government, some
of the amount of people that work there. It's the

(18:50):
amount of waste and fraud and abuse, all of that stuff.
It all adds up. I mean, you could have one
person who could steal it all, or you could have
a million. It's the size for me is the money
size as much as anything else and the waste there.

(19:12):
So Elon's taking on this. You guys all know that
I don't have to rehash that. But people have been attacking,
and I say attacking Tesla owners. People have been attacking
Tesla dealerships, charging stations, not picketing, but attacking. And there's

(19:33):
two different ways that people are trying to spend this
one it's well, it's freedom of speech. They're allowed to
do that. How dare Trump come out the other day
try to sell these Tesla cars on the White House
lawn and talk about if you say anything against Tesla,
that's domestic terrorism. That's not what he said. And here's

(19:56):
the disingenuousness of MSNBC again and again. I think I
have a good handle on English, and maybe I'm wrong.
Take a listen.

Speaker 14 (20:07):
But then you also overnight have this post claiming that
protests at Tesla dealerships are illegal. He said today he
would label violence against dealerships domestic terrorism. And you know,
I am judicious in how I play this sound, but
I think you need to hear it from him.

Speaker 15 (20:25):
Mister Perthy talks about some of the violence that's been
going on around the.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
Country at dealerships.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Some say they should be labeled domestic terrorists.

Speaker 16 (20:33):
I just do that. I'll do it.

Speaker 17 (20:34):
I'm going to stop them. We catch anybody doing it,
because they're harming a great American company. Let me tell you.
You do it to Tesla, and you do it to
any company, we're going to catch you, and you're going
to You're going to go through hell.

Speaker 14 (20:48):
So just to be clear, you protest a private company,
you are labeled by this administration a domestic terrorists.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Now that was not what was said. Not what was said.
You have every right to protest peacefully against anything you
want to protest against. Knock yourself out, go out, protest
all day, do your thing. That's fine. You want to

(21:19):
drive it down to zero, you want to bankrupt Elon
and you want to do it peacefully, and you want
to pick it. Nobody has a problem with that, nor
should they. That is not what Trump said that you'll
be a domestic terrorist if you protest violence against any

(21:42):
company violence, not just Tesla, any company is a no go.
Am I wrong? Or let's listen to it again. Maybe again,

(22:04):
maybe maybe I'm just my English isn't very good.

Speaker 14 (22:08):
But then you also overnight have this post claiming that
protests at Tesla dealerships are illegal. He said today he
would label violence against dealerships to matter.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
She said violence, She said violence, she did.

Speaker 14 (22:23):
But then you also overnight have this post claiming that
protests at Tesla dealerships are illegal. He said today he
would label violence against dealerships domestic terrorism. And you know,
I am judicious in how I play this sound, but
I think you need to hear it from him.

Speaker 15 (22:41):
But he talks about some of the violence that's been
going on around the.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Country at dealerships. Some say they should be labeled domestic terrorists.

Speaker 15 (22:49):
I'm going to do that.

Speaker 16 (22:50):
I'll do it.

Speaker 18 (22:51):
I'm going to stop them.

Speaker 17 (22:52):
We catch anybody doing it, because they're harming.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
A great American company.

Speaker 17 (22:56):
Let me tell you, you do it to Tesla, and you
do it to any company, We're going to catch you.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
And you're gonna you're gonna go through hell.

Speaker 14 (23:05):
So just to be clear, you protest a private company,
you are labeled by this administration and domestic terrorists.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
That is not what he said. So you're judicious in
the way you play it. You even said violence. He
said violence, not protest. This is why nobody believes you. Guys.
You you have the words in front of you, and
you lie. You lie, You absolutely lie. This is this

(23:38):
is why nobody trusts you. You you think people are stupid,
and you lie. And then you say, well, we don't lie. Well, no,
you do, and you just did. Then later on they
talk about what's going on on, you know, the Tesla's
being there and whatnot, which it's like he turned it

(24:01):
into a dealership. But listen to the way that this
lady basically says, Look, you guys are just poor trash.
You can't afford one of these.

Speaker 19 (24:10):
Julie, what's your reaction to this tesla's stunt?

Speaker 6 (24:13):
Is it ironic that the president is now touting electric vehicles?
I mean, first of all, it's not legal, let's start
with that. Second, and we can't do this in the
property the White House, it's federal property. Second, I mean, really,
the president is basically a car salesman. Now, it's just astounding.
With everything that's going on, I mean literally everything that's
going on in the world, he's taking time out of
his day to array four or five Teslas on the

(24:36):
White House lawn and basically act like a showroom salesman
for By the way, I don't know who he thinks
is buying Tesla's, but I can guarantee you that they're
out of reach, many of them for the average Trump voters.
So I'm not sure who in the Maga universe he's
urging to buy Tesla's, because Tesla's consistently in previous iterations,
were bought by wealthier, environmental, environmentally conscious people.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
I can't believe we don't have ratings. I can't believe
that people don't believe us. There's a reason for that.
Keep doing this if I'm no matter, let me tell
you something. The Republicans fall over themselves on a daily basis.
They flubb their lines as they would say, oh man,

(25:27):
you've lost the plot, over and over again. Keep doing this,
Keep insulting a decent portion of America, Keep lying to
a decent portion of America. Not taking something and putting
as I'd like to say, mustard on it because that's politics,

(25:48):
and you've got to expect that on these shows that
they're gonna say some things and stuff. This is what
you do. Look, free speech is BEAUTIFU go on, go online,
go out there, protest, do your thing, great, But if

(26:09):
you start to destroy their property based on your political beliefs,
if you start to destroy other companies' properties based on
your political beliefs, that is terrorism. You're using violence to

(26:29):
do what to try to change people's minds when it
comes to politics, and or scare them and keep telling
a good majority of the country, well, you guys are stupid,
poor white trash. You can't afford these things. Three two, three, five,

coming up an update to a story and assaults on
a track participant, Remember the baton whack? We've got an

(28:35):
update straight ahead, Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 16 (28:47):
Irreverence, Like, yeah, so what, it's the Chat Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
We always love to give updates on stories because a
lot of times, especially in our industry, people don't do
that right. They have the story at first and then
they just let it go. This story got national attention
the other day, and guess what, there's going to be
charges filed? What at a track meet? Which I think,
by the way, if they let them beat each other

(29:15):
with batons as they run around, it would probably make
track and field a little more interesting. Quick reminder of
what happened. So it's high school sports, girl sports. Nobody
here was a man, although a baton was used as it.
So it's I think it was the four x two hundred.

(29:35):
So it's you go around the track two hundred meters
and then you end the baton off. As one girl
was pulling ahead of another girl, another girl cracks the
other girl on top of the head with the baton.

(29:56):
So she now she said she didn't do it. She says,
it's no way she's being charged with assault. Now the
other girl has a concussion, obviously she didn't finish the race.
And of course the attacker spoke out the other day,
which was the dumbest thing. What are you doing? And

(30:19):
then you try to make yourself a victim And we'll
get to that in a second. But the reality is
I've seen the video. The world has seen the video.
Come on, we got.

Speaker 20 (30:30):
That charge of assault and battery confirmed by the Lynchburg
Commonwolf's Attorney and smith. NAACP says it's concerning, saying that
the viral video that many have seen does not warrant
this kind of response.

Speaker 21 (30:44):
We have to take care of our children more as
a people. We should not have adults attacking young children
on either side.

Speaker 20 (30:51):
That's what Janoa Everett had to say about the extensive
backlash his daughter of Laila, has faced after a viral
incident brought nationwide attention to the family. In the video,
all Laila is seen striking an opponent, Kaylin Tucker, with
the baton from behind. Alaila says her opponent was running
very close to her. The closeness caused a Laila to

(31:11):
lose her balance and an attempt to regain it. She
pumped her arm forward to regain her stride and that's
when Tucker got hit. But for many watching the viral
video that shows the incident from the front, they think
it was intentional.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Do you think now? I have seen and the first
video comes out, right, so you know, you got a
bunch of people in the stand. So the first video
comes out, and people watch the video and they're like,
oh my god. And then once it goes viral, well,
then everybody who's you know, in the arena watching this goes, well,
hold on, I was there. I took a video as well.

(31:45):
And they look and they go, oh, okay, does she
deserve any of the hate that she's getting now? Because
the people are stupid and they'll have the opportunity to.
You know, the internet is a place where you can
go and say ridiculous things and spewed disgusting stuff. That

(32:07):
being said, you're not a victim in this. I've seen
the damn video and the latest one that's come out.
I mean it is I tripped, it got stuck in
her shirt. It's like she's had nine or ten different
things that she has said. I just I don't buy it.

(32:29):
I don't.

Speaker 21 (32:30):
I'm sorry, Well, just seeing one video and it looks
bad from that angle.

Speaker 20 (32:34):
A certified USA Track and Field official even slowed down
the video to show just how close the two athletes
were competing, and for anyone watching it with just the
naked eye, it's just too close for anyone outside of
these two athletes to call.

Speaker 21 (32:47):
Leaving certain things out did so much damage to our family.

Speaker 20 (32:52):
The Portsmith NAACP released this statement in support of both
families and called out the racial slurs and death threats
that are Leila and her family have received. Lynchberg Commonwealth's
Attorney Bethany Harrison says a petition for one count of
assault and battery has been issued in response to that
Portsmouth NAACP, saying, quote, we are committed collectively to ensuring

(33:13):
that the criminal justice system, which we feel is not
warranted in this situation, is executed fairly and based on
due process.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
I don't think you need to charge her. I don't.
I think it's ridiculous and it's funny because the NAACP
is out there saying, well, this is this is a
bridge too far, this is potentially racism. I'm like, well,
hold on a second, is who's doing what you have

(33:46):
even called and apologized to the girl, you have it.
I just it's Stevie. Wonder could see we look like
you're taking a swing there, right, Stevie, I know, right,
But when you start screaming it, well, it's racism for

(34:07):
the charges. It was a girl that was black hitting
another girl that was black. So white people stay away
from this one and stop doing stupid things like going
on the internet and saying stupid thing which is hard,
I know, but I'm just telling you white people will

(34:27):
stay out of this one. Oh Chad, what if we
don't want to? No, you need to. You need to.
I don't think she is a bad girl. I think
she got frustrated and pissed. And I've seen it in
all kinds of sports men. We are notorious for being
frustrated and doing stupid things on the field. It happens.

(34:53):
It doesn't need to be charged, and nobody needs to
be charged. You should have never gone on television. You
should have called the girl and apologized immediately and this
would have all went away, which is hard for people
to do, saying sorry three two, three, five, three eight,
twenty four to twenty three at Chad Benson Show and

(35:16):
as your Twitter, your Instagram, check out chat bentson show
TV on the YouTube. Every single night right around seven
Eastern we go live do anywhere between twenty and forty minutes,
and we're increasing that as much as we possibly can.
I am but one man who does a lot of
shows during the day, just pointing that out to you, guys.
We do appreciate you checking it out though, right do.
On The Chad Benson Show, coming out our number two,

(35:41):
talk a little bit about the fear of flying it's growing?
Is there a reason for it? Because when you look
at the numbers and I'm not even just talking about
the numbers overall, actually the numbers compared to last year?
Is this overblown? Talk a little bit about that? Is
somebody actually gonna get divorced because they made fun of

(36:05):
Taylor Swift? What Yeah, wait to hear this story as
well a bunch of other stuff including update on Ukraine
three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four, twenty three,
at Chad Benson Show, to Twitter, your Instagram, all the
other things. It is the Chad Benton Show.

Speaker 16 (36:22):
This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
Is it about free speech? Or is this guy a
national security threat? My mood cool is in iced attention.
The people on the left are like, this is about
free speech. Here's a guy, you're taking away his rights,

(37:12):
et cetera, et cetera. People on the right are going, eh,
you know what this guy is working for? Essentially the enemy.
He's he is down with the West, down with America,
and up with the likes of Hamas. No, it's free speech.
You can do that. No you can't, Yes you can. Well,

(37:35):
that's the question that people are trying to figure out.
What is it. First, I've said this since the beginning,
since this guy has been taken into custody. Due process
is the most important thing. Let's get this out in
the open so we can see the insanity that's going
on in college campuses. And yes, if he's guilty, and
the things I have seen, and again, can you attribute

(37:58):
all of them to him? Has he pushed certain things
two people? Has he caused damage and threatened students at
Columbia and you can prove that, well, then it's a
slam dump case.

Speaker 22 (38:19):
Fiery legal battle that has been pitting the nation's First
Amendment right to free speech against the Trump administration's hardline
stand against students protesting Israel. Now at the center of
it all is this man, Columbia University grad student Mahmud Khalil,
a thirty year old pro Palestinian who led pro Palestinian

(38:40):
protests at Columbia University last year. Now tonight, Khalil is
in a detention center in Louisiana after ICE agents arrested
him Saturday night at his campus housing in New York City.
Khalil was detained after the Department of Homeland Security accused
him of leading activities a lie to hamas a designated

(39:02):
terrorist organization.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Which is what they are. We're correct, I mean they are.
And this isn't about free speech. This isn't about speech
like we talked about last hour, going out and protesting
Elon Musk by picketing is one thing. Blowing up portions
of dealerships and cars and the you know, the charging

(39:31):
stations or whatever, lighting them on fire, and that is
an act. One is a protest, the other is an act.

Speaker 23 (39:42):
The United States government has taken the position that it
can arrest, detain, and seek to deport a lawful permanent
resident exclusively because of his peaceful, constitutionally protected activism, in
this case, activit and support of Palestinian human rights and

(40:03):
an end to the genocide in Gaza. It's largely unprecedented,
save for ugly historical precedents including the Red Scare and McCarthyism.

Speaker 22 (40:16):
Now, President Trump, on the campaign trail and since his election,
has taken a very hard line against the students leading
these sometimes violent protests on college campuses, and when asked
why Khalil was arrested, Trumps spokesman Carolyn Levitt said he
organized protests, harassed fellow students, and passed out flyers.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
Okay, well, first of all, harassing students. You also said
violence in there, I mean speech. We go back to
handing out flyers. What are the flyers about? What are
they about? Out of curiosity?

Speaker 15 (40:56):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (40:56):
Are they promoting a disdain for the Jewish peace people?
Are they promoting violence? Are they promoted I would like
to know what those flyers are again, I want to
see the evidence. I'm a due process guy. Let's see
the evidence. But you also said violence. Guess what if
you're here on a student visa or even a green card,

(41:19):
there are certain things. Yes, you have a vast majority
of the rights that as citizen has. But if you
go and you beat somebody up, you can get kicked out,
even if I had nothing to do with politics or terrorism.
You could be a Swede here who beats the crap
out of somebody and causes damage be arrested. They look

(41:44):
and go, you gotta go. Oh you can't. Yes, you're
the one who said violence.

Speaker 8 (41:51):
By the way, this is an individual who organized group
protests that not only disrupted college campus classes and rasked
Jewish American students and made them feel unsafe on their
own college campus, but also distributed pro Hamas propaganda flyers
with the logo of Hamas.

Speaker 22 (42:11):
Now, in this country, there is a First Amendment right
to free speech, even free speech that is ugly and
avarant Passing out pro Hamas flyers isn't much different from
marching with tiki torches and chanting Jews will not replace us.
It's all awful and it's all protected speech. Secretary of
State Marco Rubio, however, said that Khalil's case is different.

Speaker 19 (42:34):
This is not about free speech. This is about people
that don't have a right to be in the United States.
To begin with, No one has a right to a
student visa, No one has a right to a green card,
by the way, because these lunatics are running around with
covers on their face, screaming terrifying things. If you told
us that's what you intended to do when you came
to America, we would have never let you in.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
I when I listened to her, and I sit there
and I shake my head because not about speech. First
of all, you've come here and you hate everything America
is about. You hate the West, not just to us,
by the way, the West, you hate capitalism, you hate

(43:12):
all of this stuff. Secondly, the difference between marking with
tiki torches, which I thought was ridiculous, is you're you're
a citizen. You're here, you're allowed to do it. Did
you commit violence? No, you had your free speech. That's

(43:33):
what you had. You had your free speech. Now the
person that ran that person over and killed that person,
that person's gone to jail forever, as they damn well should.
That's violence. That is violence. But as an American citizen,
while both have freedom of speech, one of them has

(43:57):
a place they can be exiled to, which is their home,
because they're still here by the grace of our laws.
And if he's just out there saying, look, we need
to have a sit in. We need to do this
you and you've got to prove these things. If you're
threatening students based on their race Jewish, you are pushing

(44:29):
a foreign designated terrorist organization and their beliefs. How is
anybody even sitting here going, well, you know, now you've
got to prove these things again, all of these things
I'd be proved. That's why the due process is important.
And yesterday, I mean, are we any closer to figuring

(44:49):
out what's going to happen? No, not yet, because this
thing's going to take a while.

Speaker 18 (44:54):
This is just starting to make its way through the
courts and it may take a while based on some
of the arguments we heard before the federal judge. Sitting
in the front row in court was Khalil's wife. She
did not want to be identified. She did not speak,
but she threw an attorney issued a statement outside court
saying that Halia's continued detention is unlawful. She's demanding his release.

(45:17):
The actress Susan Sarandon was looking on as well. She
joined the chorus of voices outside court in demanding Khalil's freedom.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
I love when the left gets out there like we
demand these kind of things for all of you know,
they start going through all this crap about the things
that they want to protect the left. You guys are
so clueless on what you're trying to protect. You guys
are so clueless on the groups that potentially and allegedly well,
first of all the groups, there was a lot of

(45:49):
stuff passed out there that did promote the insanity of
the terrorist organization AMAS and the likes. So there was
that again, can you trace it all back to him?
We're going to find out. But the protections for speech

(46:09):
are wonderful. But the groups that you are deciding to hey,
hang your hat on if you will, and that hill
you want to die on, you're the first ones that
would go down if they were to take over. Now,
his wife was there, but she didn't want to be identified,
but she did speak, which is again it's weird. I

(46:30):
don't want anybody who I am, but let me tell
you something.

Speaker 24 (46:32):
My husband was kidnapped from our home and it's shameful
that the United States government continues to hold him because
he stood for the rights and lives of his people.
I demand his immediate release and return to our family.
So many who know and love Mahammoud have come together,

(46:54):
refusing to stay silent. Their support is a testament to
his character, to the deep injustice of what is being
done to him.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
Well, we're going to find out. We are going to
find out. By the way the hearing yesterday, he wasn't
even at it because he's not in you know, New Jersey,
New York. He's not He's not there.

Speaker 18 (47:14):
Machaman Khaliel was not here in court. He's in an
immigration detention facility in Louisiana, one thousand miles from New York,
where he was pulled off the street, his attorneys say,
by federal immigration agents simply because he was advocating for Palestinians.
The government says he's a national security threat.

Speaker 2 (47:36):
We're going to find out. Somebody asked me yesterday, what
if he is innocent of all these and they can't
prove it. I go, well, then, great, that's great. Good
for him, And I said, but what if he was
espousing for Hamas. What if he was not just harassing

(47:58):
but threatening Jewish students and participated in the destruction of
the property and essentially holding you know, court and pushing
the the anti Semitism that is accused of, because if
he's not guilty, then you release him. If he is

(48:21):
guilty and they can prove that, well, then there you go.

Speaker 9 (49:48):
What we'll likely see now is the Kremlin trying to
drag this out and trying to add its own conditions,
and a Trump administration officials have said basically they think
this will show whether Russia is ready for peace or not.
President Trump's ENVOYE. Steve Whitkoff, is heading to Moscow for talks.
President Trump in the White House earlier said he hopes
Putin will take the ceasefire, but if he doesn't, the

(50:08):
question is what will Trump do? Will he up the
pressure with sanctions?

Speaker 2 (50:12):
That's the big question. That's the big question that everybody's wondering. Okay,
so what exactly is going to happen? Because according to many,
Putin has made Trump a puppet, right, So that's many
on the left, that's what they think. CNN yesterday was
they had an article essentially saying, now Trump's gonna find

(50:35):
out what it's really like to deal with like a masterclass.
Blah blah blah. You know, they're like rooting for Trump
to do something ridiculous so they can go see see
yesterday Trump talking a bit about say, I don't know, Ukraine.

Speaker 17 (50:53):
Hopefully we can get a ceasefire from Russia, and if
we do, I think that would be eighty percent of
the way to getting this horrible bloodbath that it sho's
a bloodbath.

Speaker 2 (51:03):
It is a bloodbath. I don't know what's going to happen.
What I do know, though, is there's also pressure on
Putin because this is his off ramp. But he's also Putin,
so you know he's going to push back. They're already
saying and we're checking it out. Lavarov has said, well,

(51:23):
we're not going to take the deal. You've not even
looked at the deal, You've not looked at anything. Do
I think that this thing's going to be the end
all to be all. No, it's explained to people yesterday.
It's thirty day pause in the fighting. That's it, thirty
days Marco Rubio.

Speaker 10 (51:42):
As far as the Russian reaction to it, that's really
the question here, and that is this is a few
hours old. We're going to bring it to them directly.
We're going to say that Ukraine is prepared to stop
all battlefield activity.

Speaker 2 (51:56):
Now you do the same. Let's see if we can
ask something out balls in your and we'll find out.
We'll find out who is the master when it comes
to negotiations. Three two, three, five, three eight, twenty four
to twenty three at Chad Benson Show and as your Twitter,

(52:17):
your Instagram, Chad Benson Show TV. Check out the YouTube,
like and subscribe. We love it when you do that
right here on the Chad Benson Show. By the way,
I think the master maybe Steve Whitcoff. That's who I
think maybe the master and all this that is the
to me, that guy who has gone and done so

(52:37):
much of these negotiations in many of these places is
the key to all of this. And you need somebody
like that. That's that nameless, faceless person who is doing
the yeoman's work, going out and trying to get stuff done.
That Let's be real. This guy is everybody that I

(53:04):
have talked to inside of the administration and people outside
of it have all said the same thing. He is
not a person to be trifled with. He is not
a politician. He is first and foremost a business person
who comes to do business. That's it. He's there, wants

(53:26):
to do business, wants to get stuff done. He's not
there for small talk. Let's just knock some stuff out
and let's get the hell out of here. So we're
going to see how that works. And I will say this,
no matter what happens, no matter what happens, I can

(53:48):
almost guarantee you the establishment left leaning media will say
Trump got played, Ukraine got screwed. Putin one. You watch three, two, three, five, four,

(54:10):
twenty three at Chad Benson Show's your Twitter, tweet, atis
text the program, Chat.

Speaker 13 (54:14):
Benson Show, Son, Chad Benson, Joe, The Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (54:40):
Every once in a great while, it's just good to
laugh a little bit, cry a little bit. I'm kidding
about the crime, although crying laughing is always good. Case
in point, Liberals, you guys have lost your mind. And
I'm not talking about a Democrat, let's let's or an
old school liberal. I'm talking about the insane, woke, wacky,

(55:01):
live in a world of nothing but emotion. That's what
I'm talking about, ladies and gentlemen. Insane. Number one today
comes from Yes, not a shocker a woman who thinks
that maybe the cartels could go after somebody.

Speaker 25 (55:21):
This message is for the cartel. We didn't ask for this.
We don't want any problems with you. Honestly, I was
a big fan of your products in my twenties. Okay,
I had a lot of fun.

Speaker 15 (55:32):
But might I.

Speaker 25 (55:33):
Suggest breaking the rules? Hi on your own supply and
the man you're looking for, Lisa, sixteen hundred Pennsylvania Avenue
in Washington, d C.

Speaker 9 (55:45):
Maybe pay, I'm a little visit.

Speaker 2 (55:48):
Speaking of getting paid a visit, I would wait for
a knock at the door. Man. The cartels really like
that's that's how insane you are where you would look
at the camera and say, I would rather side with
the people that rape, murder, child, sex traffic, sex traffic, terrorize,

(56:17):
as well as drug trafficking over a guy that I
think it's the bad guy. So there, okay, show there. Okay,
how about another one?

Speaker 7 (56:30):
If you come into my work with some Donald Trump
propaganda on.

Speaker 18 (56:35):
You're getting harassed, you are getting harassed.

Speaker 26 (56:38):
I'll make the rules.

Speaker 1 (56:40):
I just follow them.

Speaker 2 (56:41):
Harassed, harassed, rest, harassed, pigdon. I don't care how old
you are. Yeah, man, I tell you what what do
you do completely unhinged? I've come across a few of them,

(57:02):
but I just I don't know. I don't know. What
do you What do you say to somebody that's that unhinged?
How how do you You're not interested in a conversation.
You're you're you're you're cuckoo for Coco buffs. You're so
living in a world of emotion that there is no
conversation to have with you because you're unhinged speaking unhinged.

(57:28):
We're not going to just put it out there for
the average person to be unhinged. We move from one
person to another. This person's actually a congress person and
he is a little unhinged himself. He's got a little

(57:49):
Elon madness, if you will. This is what he has
to say, again, another unhinged individual.

Speaker 15 (57:58):
Where's the independence of the where's the legislature? We're an
equal branch of government and you start off with a
blather and yet look at the empty seats here, where's
Elon musk. I'm sure he's a genius, and it is a.

Speaker 2 (58:13):
Very credible person because of the wealth.

Speaker 15 (58:15):
He's accumulated, but that does not put him above the
law or the responsibility to come before this committee in
this Congress.

Speaker 2 (58:27):
At least he did the genius thing or a smart guy.
Because what I always love is the people out there
like he's so stupid. I'm like, we're really going there.
He's an idiot, you know that, right? Like I know
somebody who knew him and knows him, and he's just
the dumbest person in the world. John Lawson Rapp. Continue.

(58:48):
If he's so great.

Speaker 15 (58:49):
If these plans and all the fraud and abuse that
he's found are so eminent, why isn't he here explaining it?

Speaker 2 (58:56):
You know why?

Speaker 15 (58:58):
Because he's out to private social security.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
That's none of that is true, and which by the way,
I would have zero problems with at this point in
time and having nothing to do and I want to
point this having zero to do with people that are
receiving benefits now and all to do with the future.
We broke it down for you, how much money you

(59:23):
would have right now, what you'd be able to draw
upon had the market continued the way it was, and
if you were privatized and your employer and you were
forced to take the money, would give the sold security
and give it to you know, privatize into the stock
market where you couldn't touch it what you would have
currently comparatively to what you're going to get. But government

(59:46):
will never do that because government. It's not about whether
or not you we made a promise to you. That's
not what it's about. It's we need that money. We
need it for other things. That's why. That's why they

(01:00:07):
go and they rate it. It was only supposed to be once,
and they were supposed to last forever. That's why they
call it a scam, a Ponzi scheme. It's not a
Ponzi scheme. The only reason it's not a Ponzi scheme
is because government involved and they can print their own money.

(01:00:28):
That's it's the only reason it's not a Ponzi scheme
by all of the metrics. It's a Ponzi scheme by
all of the metrics you look at it. It's just
because government says mean, it's not a Ponzi scheme.

Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
It's just not.

Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
So what do you think of those apples? Okay, okay,
well if you say so.

Speaker 27 (01:00:48):
Meanwhile, I don't consider myself a part of the Democratic Party.
I'm very ashamed of what I've seen from them over
the last several years.

Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
Is I've thought that the behavior.

Speaker 27 (01:00:55):
Of some of them, not all, but some of the
Democrats during Trump's speech to to both houses last week
was disgraceful, and in the end, it just goes how
detached they are. But here's why there is hope, And
I'm going to tell you why it is hope because
you got people like me and I don't think that
I'm alone that's ready to purge the damn party.

Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
It needs to be purged, and you're not alone. Turning
the party around is not a hard thing to do
when you're talking about what direction you should go. The
problem is you decided to get in bed with uber

(01:01:36):
progressive activists that now have you captive and your fear
of retribution, just like there is that on the right
when it comes to the MAGA side of things, the
fear of that freezes people. And now a lot of

(01:01:56):
that base that you pray and hope that they don't
want what you're offering. They think you're old and out
of touch, and they want to go even further left
and they'll continue to lose. So you've got a captive
group of people who don't know what to do, and
you have no leader. Tell me right now, who's the

(01:02:18):
leader of the Democratic Party? Tell me right now. You
can't if you were to ask me at this moment
in time, who the leader of the party is. I'll
give you two names that I think are the names
you should watch out for, and I'm gonna do it.

(01:02:41):
In fact, I'm gonna break it down for you in
the next hour in a major way. But I will
say this, Ram Emmanuel and Gavin Newsom. As much as
Gavin drives me crazy, brilliant strategy, what he's doing, how
disarming he can be, he is gruesome Newsom. He is
all of those things. And I could tell you this

(01:03:02):
right now. I could easily make an argument of why
everything went south in California and pinted on other people
for him. It's not that hard. He should call me Gavin.
It's very charming, by the way, very very chumming Gavin.
You ah, I could see why people are chummed by you.

(01:03:22):
Three two, three, five, three, eight, twenty four to twenty
three at Chadbenson shows your Twitter tweet as texta program.
We are going to talk about it more in depth
next hour. We talk a little bit about air travel
and the fear of it and the rise of the
fear of air travel. I wonder why Lean. You don't
want to be plump, you want to be thinner, you
want a healthy weight, but you want to be able

(01:03:42):
to do it in a way that isn't going and
getting prescriptions and shots and all of this stuff. That's
what Lean provides. Lean is amazing. I take my pills
in the morning. It's simple and easy, gives me tons
of energy. But what it does, it's it's all based
in science and nutrition. First and foremost, it's about fighting
those cravings. This helps in a major way with Lean. Secondly,

(01:04:04):
it's about your blood sugar levels. And then it is
about taking that fat and excess weight and turning it
into energy and burning it. That's what Lean does. Right now,
I want you to try Lean. Go to Takelean dot

you want to do it in a way that's lasting.

Speaker 16 (01:04:55):
Sashtag me too, hashtag immigration reform, hashtag help. I'm trapped
in a hashtag factory and I can't get out the Chat
Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
Flying it's the most dangerous thing on the planet. It's
not it is. It isn't as far as travel goal,
it's the safest. But it doesn't mean people aren't scared.
And that's because well control. That's the reality of it.
And by the way, nobody's afraid of flying. We're all
afraid of crashing. I think we can all admit that.

(01:05:27):
It's not the flying part. It's the smashing into the
ground at seven hundred miles an hour that terrifies everybody.
And because of social media, the amount of media that's
available to us, it's easy to see why people are

(01:05:49):
more terrified than ever because we see things that we've
never seen before and it's potentially hurting the bottom lines
of the airline companies.

Speaker 7 (01:06:03):
According to a new survey by The Points Guy and
The Harris Poll, sixty five percent of Americans say they
are more nervous about flying in light of recent calamities.
Is started with a deadly collision in January above Washington,
d C involving a US Army black Hawk helicopter and
an American Airlines jet. There's also the Delta plane that
flipped over last month before landing in Toronto. Delta CEO

(01:06:27):
Ed Bastion says the crashes are at least partly behind
the travel poolback airlines are seeing this year. He also
signed to decline in corporate and consumer spending due to
economic uncertainty.

Speaker 28 (01:06:38):
These events somewhat exacerbated the impact on us, so it's
not just corporate and consumer. It was also a question
about safety in our industry that they're safe.

Speaker 2 (01:06:48):
I mean four and ten people before this had a
fear of flying. I'm not a fan of flying and
has zero to do with again, the crashing things. It's
a big thing, but it's there's a lot to do
with uh family. That makes sense when you know, I

(01:07:09):
didn't care about flying at all when i didn't have
a family, But it became a little bit more of something.
I became, you know, worried about certain things because I've
got a family and not only don't want to see
them because I love them and stuff. It just became

(01:07:32):
a situation where there was a worry of like what
would happen if I was gone? Those kinds of things
that happens. But the control thing is real and that
is is completely evident. And when you honestly, I mean,
the logical thing is Okay, we're thirty six thousand feet
in the air. There's no traffic around whatsoever. When you

(01:07:56):
think the plane is dropping hundreds of feet and then
going on, that's not happening. It's like going over a
small speed bump. But that's what you think in your mind.
It's always the worst. The engines are going to fall off,
those kind of things. It's the worst thing that you
can think of because it's the unknown, and unknown is terrifying.

Speaker 7 (01:08:19):
American also cut its quarterly revenue outlook, saying it no
longer expects growth compared to a year ago. In February,
the price of airline tickets dropped four percent from the
month before, according to the Labor Department. Air safety has
been the subject of heated political debates since January's deadly crash.
The day after President Donald Trump blamed efforts to improve

(01:08:39):
the diversity of air control staff. Meanwhile, Elon Musk said
current air traffic control technology is on the verge of
quote catastrophic failure, putting air traveler safety at serious risk.

Speaker 2 (01:08:52):
There's a portion of that that's absolutely real. When it
comes to how an a weighted our systems are. These
things are old, and I don't just mean old. I'm
talking about pencil and paper kind of stuff. Now the
DEI thing, well, if you haven't heard, there is a

(01:09:15):
little worry there because I've always said this DEI is,
First of all, it's ridiculous. It is a situation that
people came up with a while ago that they thought
they could profit on and use it as an excuse
to push activists bs That would make them a lot

(01:09:39):
of money. But it's very divisive. We all know that.
And Di you guys can I'm all about giving people opportunities.
I think we should all be about giving people opportunities.
That being said, we all agree, yeah, okay, that's fine
if you want to work in an office, But when
it comes to other things, no, we want the best
of the best, regardless of color, race, all that gender,

(01:10:01):
all that stuff. Something came out yesterday that even MSNBC
and everybody else is going, all right, what is this
all about? A air traffic controller? This doesn't help with
the fear of flying. An air traffic controller named Sheldon Snow,
who is an operations supervisor based in New York, has
been caught on tape, and this is a tape that

(01:10:24):
I think is like eleven years old, talking to female
African Americans other minority candidates about Hey, I'm going to
give you guys the answer so you can get through this.
I'm not lying today.

Speaker 29 (01:10:43):
When I get off at eleven o'clock, the first thing
that I'm going to do is I'm going to finish
out that email.

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
I'm going to send it to.

Speaker 29 (01:10:50):
Each of you, and as you progress through the stages,
refer to those images so that you would know which
icons you should select. Now, I have a good mind
to send it to one of my HR representatives first
and give them the opportunity to sign off on it
before you actually click it. But in the sake of time,

(01:11:14):
I'm going to send it directly to you because I'm
about nine to nine point nine to nine percent sure
that's exactly how you need to answer each question in
order to get through the first phase.

Speaker 2 (01:11:27):
It's not a good look at all. It isn't and
that's eleven years old. So you got to start to
think to yourself, were there are a bunch of people who
are given answers to get through certain things, and they've
gotten through these things, and should they not be there
because it wasn't about getting the best, It wasn't about
giving people opportunities. It was cheating three two, three, five,

(01:11:54):
three eight, twenty four to twenty three at Chadminson Show.
Is your Twitter tweet at us, text the program, check

it when you are a part of it right here

(01:12:16):
on the Chat Benson Show. Coming up on the third
hour of the program, more on Mahoud Khalil. We got
some more on the economy, inflation, the battle of No
this is a great economy, No, this is a bad economy.
And I continue to tell you there is one thing,
and one thing only you need to listen to and

(01:12:38):
we will talk about that. Okay, we will talk about that,
and I will tell you what that thing is because
you can need to know. And remember, we love hearing
from each and every one of you at Chat Benson
Show Twitter three two three, five three eight twenty four,
twenty three. That is the text line as well as
the comment life going to leave a voicemail as well.

(01:12:59):
This is the Dad Benson Show.

Speaker 16 (01:13:02):
This is the Chad Benson Show, The Chad Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
You know, the worst thing the Democrats could do, besides
doing what they've normally been doing, which is Jack and
the Pooch, is allowing a shutdown to happen. Not about
who gets the blame, but about what if explain So,
if there's a shutdown, the president's able to kind of
pick and choose certain things. So let's just say he

(01:13:56):
keeps a bunch of stuff open that people like, the
public we like stuff, but a bunch of the things
that are non essential. Eh, close it. Oh see if
everything you know, this is a perfect example for them
to you know, run a test on to see how
much the government can function without some of the stuff

(01:14:17):
that we consider quote unquote non essential. Ooh, that would
be interesting and not everybody is thinking we should shut
it down as far as the Democrats go. Now, Rand
Paul's already said he's not for this, and of course

(01:14:37):
you've got the Shoemie Baby, the Democratic leader.

Speaker 11 (01:14:40):
Funding the government should be a bipartisan effort, but Republicans
chose a partisan path, drafting their continuing resolution without any input,
any input from congressional Democrats. Because of that, Republicans do
not have the votes in the Senate to invoke cloture
on the House. We are our caucus his unif on

(01:15:00):
a clean April eleventh CR that will keep the government
open and give Congress time to negotiate five parties in
legislation that can pass.

Speaker 16 (01:15:12):
Hmm.

Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
Now, remember this thing is a continuing resolution. It's essentially
a few cuts, but something they've already mostly agreed upon
across the board. That's why this is frustrating. But I'm thinking, yeah,
let's do it. Shut it down. If I'm Trump, I'm like,
all right, guys, let's okay, So what what can I do?

(01:15:37):
What can I do as president? What can we keep
open that's not going to affect the public, right, So
we keep it open because the public likes it, you know, whatever,
National parks that kind of stuff, and so let's do
that and the stuff that's non essential, right because you're
still gonna gear checks and certain things like that. We'll
go from there. Let's see, let's see how this works out.

(01:15:59):
Let's see how this play. He's out for everybody, John Fetterman.

Speaker 12 (01:16:02):
Democrats are going to have the choice to vote for
whether you when it's the cloture or the final one,
you know, and if you refuse to or you withhold
your vote, you are voting about shutting the government down.
And so that's that's always been my point. Now it's
a cr that that we all agree we don't like

(01:16:22):
and we don't we don't co sign on all of
those elements. But for me, it's about we can't ever
allow the government to shut down.

Speaker 2 (01:16:31):
We can't. Why not some of it we can do?
We really need it all. That's what we should find out. Ah,
but chat what about I'm just throwing it out there.
If ever there was a time where you'd say, let's
see what we can do, right, let's see what happens here,
and we'll we'll go from there. If ever there was

(01:16:54):
a time, this is it.

Speaker 15 (01:16:56):
This is the time.

Speaker 2 (01:16:59):
Let's see do I think that's gonna happen. No, because
I think there's a lot of Democrats who think the
same thing. And I think there's a lot of Democrats
out there who just know that based on they just
don't want the hassle. And Chuck Schumer's really not sold on,
like he's not he's not sold he's not sold on.

(01:17:19):
We should definitely do it there. I think that that
they'll probably figure it out. But if they don't, what
are gonna look like? Well, it's gonna look a little thinner,
a little lighter, a little leaner, maybe even a little
bit meaner, if you know what I mean. We move
on from there too. The economy. It's the economy stud

(01:17:42):
you know that late a CNN poll about the economy,
and Trump's got his lowest numbers ever on the economy,
which some people like, ah, even though inflation was down
and stuff. Remember it's a biased poll to see an
n poll. So and it's the eight people that work
at CNN that are still there today.

Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
We are halfway through President Trump's first one hundred days
in office, and there are new signs that his honeymoon
with the American people on what has been his strongest
issue may be over. Take a look at CNN's exclusive
new poll, a majority of Americans fifty six percent, now
say that they disapprove of Trump's handling of the economy.

(01:18:22):
He's underwater on the issue that voters care about the most,
the issue that got him elected.

Speaker 2 (01:18:28):
Oh and that is a big deal, right, Like, I mean,
that's a huge, huge ass deal when you think about
that's what got him elected as well as immigration. And
we're not talking about immigration, especially the way we're talking
about how do we fix and deport people. We're not

(01:18:49):
talking about the numbers of people coming in here because
those numbers are minuscule, minuscule, But these numbers aren't great.
But oddly enough, other numbers aren't good.

Speaker 4 (01:19:05):
The economy is issue number one by far for Americans.
As indicated in this poll, his approval rating on this
issue is forty four percent. Trump's disapproval rating fifty six
percent of Americans disapprove of his handling in the economy.
We've never seen him that far underwater and upside down
in terms of approval and disapproval on this issue in

(01:19:27):
his entire presidential career.

Speaker 2 (01:19:29):
Look here, it's usually a strong suit for him.

Speaker 4 (01:19:31):
You see We've had him at forty four percent approval before,
but never with fifty six percent disapproval.

Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
People are nervous. They have every right to be nervous.
They do. As I've said it all along, the only
thing that matters. It's not the inflation numbers, you know,
it's it's none of those. It's it's you, It's me.
How do we feel about the economy? Do you feel
good about it? Do you feel confident about you feel
your jobs there tomorrow? Are you worried about losing your job?

(01:20:01):
Are you worried that these tariffs or some of these
things that may be happening may affect your job in
a negative way. Because if that is true, you're going
to act different, You're going to spend different. That's the economy.
All these things play into it. But you and I
both know it's really the confidence we have in our world.

(01:20:22):
Because some people may not be anywhere outside maybe spending
a little bit more, they're not going to really worry
too much about tariffs. Where people should think about ooh
and whether or not people have confidence and stuff. Is
the fact that the reason that the numbers, because we're
consumer based society, have been so good is because the

(01:20:44):
well to do, upper middle class, wealthy they've spent they're
pulling back now, they're not spending the way they used to,
and that's an issue that should make some people nervous.

Speaker 5 (01:20:57):
How are people feeling more broadly then, not just about
the president his hand and we're broadly about the Trump
administration so far.

Speaker 2 (01:21:03):
Take a look you noted at the top.

Speaker 4 (01:21:05):
Some of his scores on some issues are the best
he's ever had. Immigration, he's a majority approval fifty one
percent of Americans approve of what Donald Trump is doing
on immigration. He's close to half on managing the federal
government and the federal budget. But you see there's his
overall job approval forty five percent. We were talking about
the economy right there, forty four percent, healthcare policy, foreign

(01:21:26):
affairs and tariffs. Only thirty nine percent approve of the
way Donald Trump is handling tariffs.

Speaker 2 (01:21:33):
And there you know there's some nervousness out there. There's
no doubt are we going to have a giant, huge
tariff war with I've said it earlier, I'm not quite
sure where the tariffs are, who's hitting what? What is
is it? Is it Mexico? No, they're off till to Lipril. Second,

(01:21:58):
so we took some stuff off of the Canadians, but
with some other stuff on there. We it's all over
the place. It's Europe. It's people like simple. People like simple.
You keep it simple, easy for them to understand, explain

(01:22:21):
how it affects them, and what the long term outlook
is and what you're trying to do and lo and behold.
When you do that and you're transparent, you find out Okay,
I get it. If it gets too convoluted, if it
gets too confusing, they don't know what to do and
they turn away.

Speaker 4 (01:22:41):
We also ask how are things going in the country today,
and take a look, Kate. Thirty five percent say well,
sixty five percent say badly, but good news for this
White House. Potentially in January that thirty five percent number
was twenty nine percent, so a little bit of an
uptick in the last month in the perception of people
saying things that are going in the country.

Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
Thanks for going Oh okay, Maybe I don't yeah, I mean,
for me, do I feel they're going okay? I do?
Do I feel there's some uncertainty? Of course there is.
And because there's a lot happening to you We've had
four years of nothing, no action, No, there's nothing. Which

(01:23:31):
is that four years of nothing? And now we have
in fifty days a absolute disruptor that is moving at
lightning speeds, that is taking on all comers and is

(01:23:54):
searching all comers. They're searching out for anything that is
a For a lot of people, it is uncomfortable as
part of being a disruptor. So do I think that
this is going to be perfect? Now? There's going to
be tons of bumps in the road. Do I think

(01:24:14):
that it is going to lead to a recession? I
think there's an opportunity, you know, no matter who is president,
that we could get there. Could we get there sooner? Yes?
Could this be somewhat self inflicted? Absolutely a possibility. Could
it also not happen. It's also a possibility as well,

(01:24:35):
because just as much as it is his action, is
also the reaction of others that will play a part
into that. But people are feeling definitely on edge. And
if you're confident you're going to live your life, you're
going to spend and feel a much different way than

(01:24:57):
somebody who is on a knife's edge. Three two, three, five,

Speaker 30 (01:26:33):
Sign James Dean, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Sera, what trumping?

Speaker 2 (01:26:58):
Let's find out what's trending on the old Inner on
this beautiful, amazing, incredible Thursday. Shall we start over with
Yahoo today? Donald Trump joking around with the Irish Prime
Minister about a third term. Oh my god. The reaction.
It's all you need, All you need is reaction. Once
people react, he's won again. Like a toddler or a child.

(01:27:23):
If you stop reacting everything he does, people will start
to go eh and not pay attention. He'll start to
react less. Lots of NFL News Girl Scout cookies are toxic.
Disney's woke white set of snow White. So what I

(01:27:48):
call it woke white? It's getting a lot of well,
how should I say this? Unwanted attention because it's not good.
Over to Google. Athletico Madrid Real Madrid soccer game yesterday
I watched it. It was, as they would say, pulsating, incredible, amazing.
Leelo and Stitch trailer. I watched that as well. There

(01:28:10):
you go, Disney stick with that phenomenal great The trailer
came out looked awesome and the woke insanity stay away
from that. It's not working for you. Robert Morris, Texas
Mega church founder and died it on charges of blued
acts with a kid. Just ridiculous. Is what a megachurch? Insanity?

(01:28:39):
Creator classic that's golf players kicks off today. But that

that right here in the Chad Benson Show. And finally
over to Twitter, Tesla Lelo Vinnie, Junior, Tournament of Education,
Muhammad Khalil, All these things are trending in the magical

(01:29:21):
world oh Twitter. Speaking of Chuck Schumer, balls in his court? Now,
what will the Senate do? Can they get something done?
Can they get something through? Can they keep the lights on,

(01:29:43):
or will they shut government down completely? Wait a minute,
I thought Elon was trying to do that. Now, No, no,
this is different, is a different thing. This has to
do with the actual budget. And by the way, the
budget I'm talking about is the budget that is already
going on. Because all they do is what do they do?
Kick the can down the road just a little bit.
They don't actually fix it. They don't actually pass anything.

(01:30:05):
These are just stop gap measures. This is actually continuing resolution.

Speaker 11 (01:30:09):
Funding the government should be a bipartisan effort, but Republicans
chose a partisan path drafting their continuing resolution without any input,
any input from congressional Democrats.

Speaker 2 (01:30:23):
None, zero zilts not. Would you have actually done anything?
I'm just curious. Probably not, because that's not what we
do anymore. There's no incentive to actually work together. That's
a big issue, and that's a sad state that we

(01:30:45):
find ourselves in the modern politics. Three two, three, five,
three h twenty four or twenty three. That Chad Betson
Show is your Twitter tweet at is text the program.
I love hearing from all of you right here on
the Chad Betson Show.

Speaker 16 (01:30:57):
Chad Benson Show, The Chat Benson show.

Speaker 2 (01:31:21):
Won't there or won't there be a recession? People worry.
New study out today most working Americans have spent more
than half their paycheck before they even get it. So
think about that. That is, they get a paycheck, and

(01:31:44):
these are people who are making less than seventy five
thousand dollars a year, they get it, and by the
time they get it, it is basically gone bye. Past
due bills are a big reason living cost. Bills that

(01:32:14):
are scattered throughout the month is one of the reasons
people say that they have a tough time because they've
got bills scattered throughout the month. So what ends up
happening is they're robbing Peter to pay Paul is a struggle.
But when pay day finally rides for people, most people
know that a vast majority of their money's going to
go wear first, mortgage payment, rent, things of that nature,

(01:32:36):
necessities like food and medicine, utility bill follow and then
catching up with overdue bills. Thirty percent of respondents in
the latest service say overdue bills eat up thirty percent,
And so think about that, you're paying a penalty on
top of the fact that you are trying to pay
that bill. The money that it does arrive disappears quickly.

(01:33:01):
Americans spend about forty three percent of their paycheck within
just three days of getting it. When you add this
to the fifty one percent that's already spoken for before
to arrive. So that's like your that your that's your
business stuff that you got to take care of right
then and there what ends up happening, you're broke, you're broke.

(01:33:22):
So that fifty one percent you think about are those
fixed things of a car payment, your your mortgage payment,
that that fixed thing, and then the rest of it
is your food, your credit card bills, things of that nature.
So the tightening the belt, you know, that's why I

(01:33:42):
keep saying a lot of people are with Trump, but
that only goes so far. And it's not that they
can't say, I see what you're trying to do. I
absolutely pray and hopes it works out. But that being said,

(01:34:04):
I need something to survive, and it can't be in
five years. Manufacturing is gonna come back in a way,
cause people will tell you they don't got five years
money wise to survive. For those caught short at the
end of each pay cycle, the effects hit home. Sixty

(01:34:26):
two percent say they struggle to buy groceries. Thirty percent
so they have trouble paying major bills, thirty percent can't
even cover smaller bills, and sixteen percent find it hard
to make their loan payments and afford medicine. When money
runs out, many Americans are turning to things like side hustles,

(01:34:47):
asking family and turning to what's left of their credit cards,
and fourteen percent say they don't know what to do
or where to turn. They just paralysis analysis. So that's
why when we talk about the economy, why it's important,

(01:35:07):
it's the economy stupid. It's the economy stupid, Caroline Levitt,
there's a lot.

Speaker 31 (01:35:12):
Of concern for a lot of Americans right now about
the state of the economy. President Trump has refused to
rule out of recession. Secretary Lutnik, however, has told us
there will not be one. So can the White House
just tell and assure Americans today that there's not going
to be a recession?

Speaker 8 (01:35:25):
As President champ has said, and I'm here to echo
the remarks of this president of this White House, we
are in a period of economic transition. We are in
a period of transition from the mess that was created
under Joe Biden in the previous administration. Joe Biden left
this country in an economic disaster.

Speaker 2 (01:35:44):
None of it was the worst disaster the way to
make it sound like it, but it was not. It
was way too damn expensive. It wasn't what they painted
the picture to be. Was it the worst thing in history? No,
But to get back out of it and to put
on a put everybody on a path where prosperity and stuff.

(01:36:04):
You're going to have to go through some moments of
you know, we're going to have to tighten those belts kids, right,
We're going to have some austerity mesters are coming in.

Speaker 8 (01:36:14):
Under Joe Biden, all net job growth went to foreign
born Americans. Real wages declined by one and a half
percent under Joe Biden. And as we all know, and
this administration continues to combat, price is sword more than
twenty percent under Joe Biden because of his reckless spending
and economic policies. So we are in a period of
transition into a golden age of American manufacturing under a

(01:36:37):
businessman and a deal maker in chief and President Donald J. Trump.
Look at President Trump's results in his first term. If
people are looking for certainty, they should look at the
record of this president, and.

Speaker 2 (01:36:48):
That's why he's going to give the opportunity to do it.
It's not whether or not you believe. And this is
the funny I was telling somebody the other day. You
could support Trump, you can be the biggest supporter of
Trump and see the vision of what he's trying to do,

(01:37:12):
But you also live in a world of it's got
to happen way sooner than later. It's not that I
don't trust you. It's not that I don't see the vision.
It's not that I don't share that thing. It's just
that I can't afford that. I can't afford to wait
that long. So something has to happen. And it will
always be the economy, stupid, no doubt about that one thing.

(01:37:35):
He is winning on anybody, anybody. Oh yeah, the border
that's done and dusted. I don't think anybody's worrying about
that anymore. Let's take a look at the numbers. So
let's take a listen to the numbers. If you will,
Tom Home and everybody, you.

Speaker 32 (01:37:51):
Can't have strong Nash security of border security. No one
understood that burden President Trump's first term. His success on
the board is unprecedented, precedented. Now he just came back
in office, and I came back how to retirements a
second time to serve as president because I respect him
so greatly. He did in three weeks with Joe Biden

(01:38:11):
couldn't do in four years. Barder numbers right now down
ninety six percent. Ninety six percent boarder numbers are down.
He was at over ninety percent in three weeks. Ninety
six percent decrease. That means when you got ninety six
percent less people across that border, less women are being

(01:38:33):
raped by the cartels, Less children are dying making that journey.
Less Americans are dying from Fatinahl that comes across the border.
Less women and children are sex trafficked. Less terrorists are
getting into this country. Joe Biden had four hundred people
on terres ross has come across the border in four
years under Trump won, we have fourteen.

Speaker 2 (01:38:54):
That is numbers that are you can't argue. Matt Rivers
talking about that touched on a little bit yesterday. I
want you to listen to him. This is so you know,
the Darien gap is that gap that everybody comes down through.
They go through the triangle and everything to get here.
The way that these numbers have fallen are insane.

Speaker 26 (01:39:18):
The last time I was physically in the Darien Gap,
which was during the peak of immigration during Joe Biden's presidency,
there was something like a.

Speaker 1 (01:39:25):
Thousand migrants crossing per day.

Speaker 26 (01:39:28):
Now we saw four hundred in an entire months and
ninety nine percent drop. And the reason is is because
these migrants know that when they get to the United States,
if they make it that far, given the extra enforcement
that's been put up by countries along the way from
President Trump's prodding, they are not going to be allowed
into the United States.

Speaker 2 (01:39:46):
They're not. It just isn't happening.

Speaker 26 (01:39:47):
Whether you are a fan of President Trump's immigration policies
or you are not a fan of his policies. If
his stated goal was to stop migrants from coming, especially
from Venezuela and other countries in South America up towards
the United States, they're working. It is directly as a
result of President Trump's policies that the number of migrants
has dropped so starkly.

Speaker 24 (01:40:08):
So.

Speaker 2 (01:40:11):
That he's done. Now, the question is the economy. The
ball is in the court of Russia right now and
what will happen with that. But now it's the economy
threatened to put two hundred percent tariffs on Europe. There's

(01:40:35):
a lot that's going on. And you know, again, as
I've said earlier and I'll continue to say it over
and over again, you can love the ideas, you can
love the vision. When it comes to the economy, it's
can you if there's a downturn and we get into

(01:40:59):
a battle of tariffs and we see inflation rise and
job grows slow and stuff, can you say I can
stick it out? And I think a lot of people
are no, because we're because at the end of the day,
you and I and everybody else's how does this affect me?
If it doesn't affect me negative or positively, you probably
don't care. And so with the way that things are

(01:41:26):
going right now, if there is some uncertainty out there,
but the low hanging fruit of immigration on the illegal
immigration crossing over the border, abusing our system that has
stopped now finding out who's here, deporting those people that
shouldn't be here. That's the next step when that comes

(01:41:48):
to immigration. But everybody's going to look at the stock market,
the job market, inflation. Those are the things that people
are going to pay the most attention to in the
next several weeks. People are willing to give you some time,

(01:42:11):
and I think he's shown you in the past he
deserves that. And everybody's got to answer the question for themselves.
I'm with you one hundred percent in theory, but is
your checking account with you? And the numbers? We just
talked about a lot of people out there voting for

(01:42:32):
Trump who don't have months and months and months where
they can see their paycheck. If you will shrink because
inflation grows and their industry is struggling. Three two, three, five,

Speaker 1 (01:44:37):
Welcome to Jest.

Speaker 16 (01:44:39):
No not the country, the institution, The Chat Benson Show.

Speaker 2 (01:44:43):
The Democratic Party itself is frankly an irrelevant political party.
They don't have a message.

Speaker 18 (01:44:49):
Their policy positions have left cities across this country in shambles.

Speaker 4 (01:44:53):
It appears to me that the Democratic Party, in my
personal opinion, is a party that is in chaos right now.

Speaker 2 (01:44:58):
You they have no idea, which the Michael Shermichael Singleton
right there, He's right, Democrats have no idea what they're doing.
They're going sideways. It's not hard to mount an attack
against the Republicans. It's not like the Republicans are blowing
them away with brilliance and amazingness. No, it's it's they've

(01:45:20):
capitalized on this situation where you had no real leader.
The one that was the leader has done a crappy job.
That was Biden, the person they threw in there was useless,

(01:45:42):
and Trump took advantage of it and ran with it
and won because people were frustrated and tired and there
was no message. And on top of that, you also
lost the plot because you pushed insane ideas like unfettered
access to our border to come into here, that a
man is a woman and can have a babe. We
can go on and on and on about their insane ideas,

(01:46:05):
and now they're rudderless, they're broke, they're a joke. There's
no doubt in my mind. They've got nothing in front
of them. Yet at the same time, the Republicans are
still the Republicans. Both of these parties are so flawed
and it's not hard to mount an actual strong attack

(01:46:26):
if you have some people with some wherewithal some people
who aren't insane, and you can stand up to portions
of the activist side of the party and tell them, look,
not only are you not helping, what you're spewing is ridiculous.
There is a reason for better or worse. We're gonna
have a bigger conversation about this Marrow the Gaven Newsom's podcast,

(01:46:49):
and if you've not seen it, it's actually very interesting
that he's having on all these right wing influencers. There's
a reason for that, and started with Charlie Kirk.

Speaker 33 (01:46:57):
I think you talked about it the other day. A
lot of folks were talking about that car article where
he talked about roll over and rollover in ESSNC say
that anybody's strategic retreating right, that we need to come back.
Trump's starting to plode, his numbers are getting soft, and
this was even before the tariff issues, et cetera. And
then come back and strike when hot and immediately nobody

(01:47:17):
has thought about you, who's just twenty four to seven
flooding the zone, owning this space every day, getting a
convert every day, picking up one to ten thousand folks,
continuing the momentum coming out of this damn election. And
then I'm thinking about, we're going to stand back and
watch you run circles around us for six months the
next two or three years, waiting for the moment to

(01:47:39):
finally strike. Struck me as not necessarily the best advice.
And it's not a knock on Carvil, who I have
deep respect for that.

Speaker 34 (01:47:46):
So I don't have to. He was He's right about
one thing in the last forty years. It's economy stupid
and boys, he spent he spent down that one line
pretty amazingly. Yeah, I hope you guys retreat you kind
of like the more for us mean, there's no opposition,
there's no artivists at the spark. You guys are posting
these cringe videos on social media.

Speaker 2 (01:48:03):
Oh the videos are the ones I don't know.

Speaker 34 (01:48:05):
This is like har harmonious thing of like twenty two
senators all saying the same thing like that, Yeah, I
didn't like it.

Speaker 29 (01:48:10):
What do you go?

Speaker 2 (01:48:10):
Ahead?

Speaker 34 (01:48:11):
Go do more of that?

Speaker 2 (01:48:12):
What do you do? But what do you do? Seriously,
Charlie Kirk, give us some of the better ideas, Governor simple.
I played. That's a little bit longer normal. But he's
going on there for several reasons. Ay. One thing about Gavin,
like him, hate him whatever, he's a stup. He's smart. Yeah,
maybe swarmy, but he's a chameleon and he understands politics
in a very real way. And as much as he's

(01:48:34):
going on to have a conversation, he's also going on
to learn, learn, Learn. We have a deeper conversation about
this tomorrow because I think it warrants that I really do.
It's gonna be interesting, There's no doubt about that. Three two, three, five,
three eight, twenty four to twenty three at Chat Betson
