All right, guys, here we are our last break of
the day and it's time to close out the show,
closing remarks with the one and only Steve Harvey.

Hey, you know, a young lady called in earlier today
and was talking about she was going to vote, but
so many young people are depressed about to vote because
they think they vote don't matter. She said, because if
Hillary Clinton won the popular vote but she lost the
electoral what's the use of us voting? And it was

really really a fair question. I didn't think when Barack
Obama ran for president that he was going to win.
I voted for him, but I didn't think in my
lifetime I was going to see a black man be
become the president and in this United States. And now
we're on the cusp of watching another first possibly that

has real potential. This woman could become and has a
very strong chance of becoming the first female to win
the presidency of the United States and the first black
woman to win the presidency of the United States. Now,
in my lifetime, if you think I didn't think that
was possible for a black man, I really never even

thought of this. But here we are again, and it's amazing, man,
because I think of Martin Luther King's speech oftentime mountaintop.
He said, I may not get that with you, but
we as a people will get to the mountaintop. And
I've watched us do some incredible things after this man's death.
(01:34):
But I want to say to young people out there
and everybody out there that's listening, your vote does matter.
I'm gonna show you something. Your vote does matter. See
the reason your vote matter is because it does affect
the popular vote, but it also affects the electoral vote.

See the reason they had the electoral vote in the
beginning when the North fought the South Civil War and
they split the country north. In the South, the South
felt like in order for them to get rights, and
they were less populated in states like Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana.
They wanted to have as much say so as the
northern states, so if they won the popular vote, their

electoral vote would count the same as a more populated state.
That was the purpose of it. But if you win
the popular vote in that state, you can control the
electoral in that state. You are valuable. Listen to me, y'all.
The biggest lie they've eve helped to perpetuate is that

our vote doesn't count. That And let me tell you something.
They helped perpetuate that lie by propping us up every
format they can to say, if we don't stand a
chance they're voting, our vote don't count. They get behind
that stuff on Facebook they push out as they prompt
that agenda. But let me show you the trick they using, though.

If our vote don't count, why does Donald Trump keep
saying he's done more for black people since Abraham Lincoln?
If our vote doesn't count, why is Donald Trump always
somewhere trying to get the black vote? Why at every

Trump rally do you see black people strategically placed in
the background of all of his rallies. You know what,
those people who stand in those positions, they're placed there
by the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. That's politics.
Those people you see at the rallies are placed in
those camera seats. And why do you think if the

black vote don't count, you always got some black people
behind Donald Trump at all of his rallies. That's because
your black vote counts. Man. Why do you keep seeing
them prop up every chance they get blacks for Trump?
Why is it that you keep seeing that no matter

where you go, because they know our vote counts. They
know that we can make the decision in this election
because we made it in the last one. They know
how valuable you are. We have always been made to
think we are less than who we are, when all
along they've known the truth about us. It's just that

we got to quit believing the lie about us. We
all of that and a bag of chips, and everybody
know it. So why we don't know that about ourselves?
Our vote is critical? That's why everybody wont it. Donald
Trump included why did Donald Trump even show up at
the NABJ, the National Association of Black Journalists? Why would

he even go there? And then when they asked him
the hard questions, he's so hateful and so ignorant towards
black people. He want the black woman fired. I would
fire her. She asked me these questions right here. She's
a journalist. What did you want her to ask you?
But if he didn't care about the black vote, why
was he at their National Association for Black Journalists? Y'all,

your vote matters. Stop thinking we don't count. I'm telling
you we count. We've been counting for a long time.
We are the deciding factor in all cultural events. They
don't like us. Why they tann it? What's with the
lip injections? We've been having all of this. I've been

knowing black women was all that. Now everybody want to
look like y'all, they've been knowing the truth. We determine
everything in the culture. We determined what the new dances are.
We determine how we wear our clothes. We determined all
the fashions. We determined what's cool in this country. They
kids try to act like black kids because we have

been the determining factor the whole time. Don't get fool y'all.
We've been it for a long time and they know it.
It's just they convinced us that we wouldn't. We are it,
and your vote matters. If it didn't matter, why they
won't it so bad? Please get to the polls and
vote because you do matter and they know it too.
