Dana Lashes of surd Truth podcast sponsoredby Celtech. It's his laugh mission to
make bad decisions. It's time forFlorida man, all right. So a
mysterious noise is apparently aggravating South Floridaresidents. I didn't know that. They

(00:22):
said this was like South. It'sin South Tampa. It started in twenty
twenty one. People are complaining aboutit. They said it's like a throbbing
bass sound and they can't yet identifyit. They said that they've been looking
that it was first noted in latetwenty twenty two. Anytime they hear it,
you know, obviously they all geton Facebook and they all talk about
it. But they said that they'retrying to figure out what it's a strange

(00:44):
sonic disturbance. And they were workingwith a guy at the Fisheries Habitat of
ecology and acoustics and all this stuff, and they said that they were they're
trying to figure out what they thinkit could be. No, this is
crazy. I can't say this. The Latin name Pagonius chromus the black drum
a fish, a species that theythink might be associated with it because it's

(01:08):
a drumfish mating noise. That's whatthat's what they are initially thinking right now.
That's I've never heard anything like thisat all. They said, it's
like similar to like kind of likethe song of cicadas, et cetera.
But they've done a lot of researchinto it. I have never heard of
anything like that ever, am IFlorida? You weird, man? You

(01:30):
weird? You got like noisy fish. That's weird. I've ever heard anything
like that before. Never, that'swild. All right. We have a
village's story. Yes, okay,oh my god, I mean you guys.

(01:52):
Yeah, the a patient lifts hisgown while jiggling his genitals at the
entrance to the village's hospital. DarrenMelinsky, fifty one, was arrested after
he lifted up his hospital gown andyeah, he rustled his own jimmies while
standing there at the entrance of theUF Health the village's hospital. Oh my

(02:17):
gosh, I and Steve's like,if I could just be a fly on
the wall at the village's hospital. No, no, no, and he
ope, but it gets worse.Oh my gosh, guys, I'm not
well enough to do this story. He was asking. He repeatedly asked passer
by to passers by, passer byasking to check his beans and I can't.

(02:50):
I guys, really he was askingopinions as to whether or not they
were swollen. I'm not making thisthe reverse hippo violations. It is such
a thing. Well I think thatwhen you're out there publicly, I'm just
saying reverse it. But like,no, you don't like no, I
don't medical. I don't want toknow you're forcing this on me. Is
there like a legal protection I canso. He was arrested on a charge

(03:14):
of indecent exposure. He was bookedat Summer kinding detentions. Bond was set
of a thousand. They don't saywhether or not he bonded out or anything,
but that's super gross. Let's see, a Florida man chucked a chocolate
egg at a Circle K employee beforehopping over the counter to attack him.
Now, I know that there's likemore to this story, but what kind
of chocolate egg? What are wetalking about? I mean, if it

(03:35):
was, was it like you knowyeah yeah, yeah, like like a
British one, like where they usethe good chocolate. I don't know.
John Mayhouse, twenty seven, wasarrested in charge with battery. It was
at tarp and Springs. The policeresponded. The clerk said that the guy
was in line. He was aboutto call him up to check out.
He refused to allow the clerk tocheck him out. He walked over to
a different employee through a chocolate eggat the original store clerk, and then

(03:58):
there's some pushing and punching. Theguy was taking in a custody. He
posted a thousand dollars pond like whycan't just check out and leave? Like,
what the what is the matter withyou? This woman, a Florida
woman, tried to kill a guyover a postcard that he got six decades
ago because she got jealous. I'mgonna save this one for tomorrow. Because
if you've ever if your wife hasever had a dream in which you wrong
her and then she wakes up andis mad at you. Okay, this

(04:20):
is this is gonna go right intothat toolbox kel Tech. If you haven't
checked out the sub two K,you definitely should. And uh this is
uh innovation, one of the newestthings that that kel Tech has introduced.
I love the Sub two K.It's nine millimeter. It's just it's this
is the gen three. It's shippingnow. So what it means Like previously,

(04:42):
if you wanted to fold it inhalf, you know, you just
attach your optics and all that. You don't have to do that with the
Sub two that with the Sub twoK Gen three it's simple twist and fold.
It is a patent pending rotating fourin in either direction. So and
it folds the Gen three right inhalf as quickly and easily deploys it.
You fold it, optics and all, so you have to take nothing off.

(05:02):
That's awesome, and so they've beenthis this is really just the upgrades
they've added to this have just reallypushed it up to the top. They
also have an upgraded aluminum trigger. They redesigned the mechanics on that for a
light and five pound pool. Thatmeans, you know, more precise feedback,
You get an isolated pole translating intoimproved accuracy follow up, all of
that stuff. They have a chamberindicator, They have all kinds of stuff

(05:24):
on this thing. And you alsohave for now. So this one ships
in the Glock nineteen configuration. That'sanother reason why I like it. And
it also accepts mags from the glockseventeen and it's all made in America.
Just super awesome design, everything righthere in the US of A. You've
got to check out. It's theSub two K or Sub two thousand,
that's what it looks like on thewebsite. Sub two K Gen three.

Dana sent you. Can we talkabout this stupid Taylor Swift thing. Good
grief. I don't watch football. Why okay, NFL has the highest ratings
right now. Weren't people real madabout the knee stuff? When is it

(06:09):
okay now to not to like watchI'm just curious, Like I thought everybody
was like not watching football, andeverybody's watching football again. I guess people
stop taking the knee during the nationalanthem. I don't know. I mean,
if I had to pick between burningdown and like black communities or you
know, taking a knee and peacefulprotest, I think I, you know,

(06:29):
choose the peaceful protest to have lessof a problem with. Yeah,
I don't mind peaceful protest. Ijust think there's a better time to do
it. My whole issue with thejust to recapital quickly, because we got
to talk about this My whole issuewith the way it was done was I
took issue with the claim that thebasis of their protest because you had Colin
Kaepernick, who was protesting as away to get more attention to himself because

(06:53):
he sucks out loud. He playslike sucking is his job. What is
your job? You're in the NFL. Yes, that's my job. It's
my whole position. That's why.Huh. Yeah, he's so horrible,
but you know that's he's he decidedto get more attention for himself by doing

(07:13):
the political thing. But his claim, his claim was that oh it's cops,
aren't there killing black Americans? Idisputed the claim. I don't care
if people have a you know, peacefully protest. I thought it was ridiculous
that he was protesting over an absolutelyeasily proven lie, easily proven lie or
disproven, I should say. Sothat was my whole thing. But anyway,

(07:34):
everyone was like, oh, we'renot going to watch NFL. Well,
now they have like what they are, highest ratings ever and now there's
this thing I saw at the Guardianand i'ven't seeing people talk about this online.
They're like, oh my gosh, there's a conspiracy theory, Taylor Swift
is a Pentagon asset. If athirty three year old woman who is still
in early twenties, heartbreak Land isan asset for the Pentagon. I think

(07:58):
maybe our time has come, youknow, the second Fall of Rome.
Maybe our bills come due. ButI've seen are people on the right seriously
promoting this? Are they joking aboutit? Because if they're seriously promoting this,
they are the stupidest people on God'sGreen Earth. I don't care who
it is. I'm sure I knowsome of them. I don't care.

(08:20):
I'm on steroids, I'm sick.I hate everything. I don't care.
This is so dumb. I don'tlike Taylor Swift. I could not tell
you her albums. If our lifeand the life the Survival of Earth depended
on me naming a single song thatshe sings. I really don't think I
could do it. I really don'tthink I could do it. We'd all
die, we would all be deadright now. I can't tell anything about

(08:43):
it. I don't know anything aboutfootball. I'm not even going to pretend
for clicks like I do. Iknow nothing about it. I know that
there are way too many positions andsome of the names seem very suspiciously made
up for whatever advantage on a particularday whatever. My husband has tried explaining
this to me until he's just hiseyes glass over and he can't handle it
anymore. I just don't get it. And that's okay. Everybody's got different

(09:07):
differences of opinions and likes. That'swhat makes us this country great. But
whether or not she's a Pentagon asset, I don't understand why. So they're
trying to say that what she's she'sthat they're using Taylor Swift to get people
to vote for Biden. Hey,newsflash, guys, she endorsed him in
twenty twenty. She made cookies thatsaid Biden Harris twenty twenty and posted it

(09:31):
on social media. Is that dothese people that are pushing the Taylor Swift
siye up? Are they unaware ofus? I mean she's a lefty.
She campaigned against Marshall Blackburn in Tennessee. Did people forget that? Like she
literally made didn't she make a videoagainst Marshall Blackburn? I mean Blackburn won.
I mean it didn't do anything. But she's like well known to be

(09:54):
on the left. So are yousurprised as she is. I mean,
she's thirty three. I look, people say that I've got friends who are
conservatives and they take their kids togo see Taylor Swift. Oh my gosh,
I don't care. I don't care. There's so many other things to
bitch and moan about. I donot care. Who cares if she's going

(10:18):
to vote for Joe. I don'tcare who Taylor Swift votes for. And
honestly, if there is a segmentof the population that is more swayed by
Taylor Swift than they are actual policy, we deserve to go down in a
ball flames. Honestly, I justI'm at the point where I'm very dorry
about this. But this whole ideathat she's a psyop is this It's dumb.

(10:39):
This is so dumb. Where didthis come from? She publicly endorsed
the guy in twenty twenty, shecampaigned against Marshall Blackburn. She's pushed Democrats
ever since she decided that she couldbe political without any kind of consequence.
I don't think she's obnoxious about it. I just think she's wrong and dumb.
But she's not obnoxious now she's she'snot. I don't think she's crass,

(11:03):
and I don't think she's vulgar.I'm not going to sit here and
excoriate someone just because they differ forme on a political instance, even though
I totally don't listen to her music, it's not my jam. I'm not
going to sit here excoriate someone justbecause they might vote horribly wrong and they're
dumb about math. I'm not goingto excoriate them for being dumb about math
and not knowing anything about domestic policy. Cane, not at all, you

(11:26):
know, you know, I wasjust saying, but you made a good
point on break because you were sayingthat it's she just has the history of
picking bad dudes. She does, she's but she's made a career on it,
so good for her. But sheclearly chooses wrong men for her,
and so her endorsing Biden makes senseto me. Yeah, I mean that,

(11:48):
that totally makes sense. I getthat. I mean that that's you
know, that's par for the course. But I don't think she's a sky
op. And I think that talkinglike, acting like she is just gives
that more momentum. Sometimes I thinkpeople on the right in the left say
crazy things because they feel like thathelps them break through the uh oversaturation of

(12:09):
hot takes. Because if there's onething that we have too much in this
country of it's hot takes. Everybody'sgot a hot take. Do you exist
if you have not given a hottake on an issue? I mean,
your existence in the influential sphere isdetermined by whether or not you have a
hot take. You know, thisis right, here's the it's true.
Here's the other thing with this. The left has always used celebrities and bread

(12:33):
and circuses to get out the vote. This is not new to anybody who's
ever followed politics. There are apparentlysome people on the right who think that
politics began just the day that theygot involved in it. The question is
why doesn't the RNC do this stuff? The right cave to temptation from the
left a long time ago. Theleft was always about, let's make this
entertainment, and the right decided togo along with it. They made politics

(12:54):
a new form of entertainment eons agobecause they suck at selling liberty. They
have the product, but they're justthey never got graad at selling enough for
the lack of trying. Oh,when you can sit here and say that
there are some famous people on theright. Yeah, there are you have
people like John Voight who has toomuch talent and too much of a record.
He has a blank you talent, right, He's got a blank you

(13:18):
body of work. He can dowhatever. Nick searsy, he's got blank
you talent. He's got a blankyou body of work. He doesn't care.
He can do whatever he wants becausehe's Nick. Seriously, But there
are some people that I see outthere that I think their star has expired
and they peaked already and they hitthe ceiling of their talent level, and
I think that as a way toexcuse that or try to claw back some

(13:41):
more influence of notoriety, they makethe claim that they were they were blacklisted
because they're on the right, whenit's just, no, you peaked.
That's that's what it is. You'renot you're blacklisted because you're on the right.
You just peaked, dude, It'sjust ALLID is. I'm not going
to be ignorant, but you knowwhat I mean. I mean there is
some of that. I can't standthat when I see it, I cannot
And it's like no, I meanthere are some people who were legitimately blacklisted,

(14:03):
and there's some people who are toobig to be blacklisted. And there
are some people who peaked and theyalready hit the ceiling of their talent and
the potential. And they didn't gettaken out by politics. They just got
taken out by time and timing. That's it. But this is always the
left has always done this kind ofstuff. This isn't a syop. I

(14:24):
mean, there's none of this. They've always done this. And instead of
complaining about it, I mean,I don't know what is the R and
C. What does the right doto I'll tell you what the right doesn't
do. The right makes horrible Christianmovies. They make horrible art in an
adjacent economy. And they put theleast effort into god Rock, which is
supposed to be a form of worshipand ministry, that they spend the least

(14:46):
amount of money on. How aboutthat? Oh, these are all uncomfortable
things to say. I'll tell youbecause I'm on steroids, because I'm sick,
and I don't care. You know, it's true, this is all.
These are all true things be goodAnd now all of the news you
would probably miss. It's time forDana's Quick five. So Toyota has issued
a massive do not drive advisory overan exploding function in certain models. This

(15:11):
looks horrible. They say that it'sthe two thousand and thirty two thousand and
four Corolla matrix. And they saidthat fifty thousand vehicles are believed to be
part of this notice. Thirty deathshave occurred since O nine. It's in
relation to the vehicles airbags. Accordingto the BBC, they saved the airbag
deployees apart inside is most likely,oh goodness, to explode and shoot sharp

(15:33):
metal fragments, which could cause seriousdeath. They literally are serious injury or
death. That's like a mine, isn't it. They said that the the
recall of the Takata airbag inflators isthe largest in motor industry safety history.
Wow. So like you get intoa wreck, you actually gonna have strapnel

(15:58):
flying nott Ao. That's that's kindof the opposite of what is supposed to
happen with an airbag. Right. The real estate downturn has come from America's
premier office towers. Rents at highestend buildings have fallen and rate of leasing
slows, according to the Wall StreetJournal, and they said that this,
I mean, this is I thinkstill fall up from the pandemic, and

(16:18):
also people realize they don't need asmuch brick and mortar as they thought.
The USC is a huge spike insyphilist cases. The CDC blames the lack
of funding. Are you going topay people to not be whorees? I
don't understand. What's the point. They said that syphilist cases are reaching record
numbers. The CDC says the federalgovernment is not throwing enough money at it.
Because if you throw enough money atsyphilis, the syphilist goes away.

(16:42):
Do you know that? Yeah, you can paper people's knees clothed. That's
the real thing. I mean atthis point, if you don't understand how
it's spread, you're too stupid tobreed. So do us all a favor
and keep the gene pool clean ofyour ignorance. Let's see what else we
have, Oh, deep fake billis going to open the door for victims

(17:02):
to sue creators. This is reallyweird ground. There's the dis It's called
the disrupt Explicit Forced Images and NonConsensual at its act. It was introduced
yesterday by Josh Holly, Lindsay Graham, and Dick Durban. They said that
it's going after the deep fake content, so that if people are using someone's
likeness to create nasty stuff, thatthey are saying that the victim, the

(17:25):
person whose likeness was used, couldthen sue for damages. I mean,
I think you would be able toprove damages in some of those cases.
It seems like speaking of government andfamilies, did you guys hear the story
about what happened in Montana? Thisis wild? Check this out. So
this was in Montana, Montana. Two parents, mom and dad, lost
custody of their daughter, the coolestadfamily. They got a call that their

(17:52):
fourteen year old daughter told friends atschool that she wanted to kill herself back
in August of last year. Laterthat same evening, they had CPS.
They went to the They went tothe family home to look at the house,
interview the daughter. They determined thatexcuse me, that she needed to
transition to get better, so youknow, she has a body dysmorphia issue.

(18:15):
The CPS's respond their response, it'slike, you know, if they
go and they see someone who's anorexicand they intervene and then they encouraged them
to not eat more, right, that's the same thing. Same energy.
The parents, the stepmother and thebiological dad. The Coals dads said that
the daughter had a tough upbringing. She had some undiagnosed mental health concerns.

(18:37):
She had attention seeking behavior, andshe had a difficulty in being truthful and
they think that that caused this urgeto transition and it was overlooked by social
services and so they would not Theywere not going to allow her to transition.
They said no, So CPS literallytook custody of her. They removed

(19:03):
this fourteen year old from this thishome as a result of this. This
is wild. The family, theywere talking to Daily Mail and they said
that this has been heartbreaking. There'sa family in Indiana that asked the Supreme
Court to review their custody case somethingsimilar. So the Cole said family.

(19:29):
They said that they were trying tohelp their daughter. They moved to a
different school district. She was bulliedat the old one. But CEPS Child
and Family Services they said that, you know, they warned the case worker
that the daughter had a history ofmaking up some stories. You know she
did you know she is it toyou know, I haveven forbid you know,
teenage girl be attention seeking. Yes, it's common people, it's common.

(19:53):
And they said that she parents werenot going to allow her to transition,
so they felt that it it isbetter to remove her literally from her
family home. That's crazy, andso they were assigned a public defender.
They said, play nice, goalong with CPS's recommendations. They took the

(20:15):
daughter, took her to Wyoming andthis is CPS. They took her to
some one of these facilities for transitioningin Wyoming that allows miners to have quote
unquote gender affirming care and like hormoneblockers and surgical procedures. They gave her
men's hygiene products, all this stuff, and they moved her to a youth

(20:37):
dynamics group home in Montana. Theyallow her to wear a chestbinder, wear
men's clothes, attend only boys activitiesand boys groups. And the parents are
told that they're essentially at the mercyof the state, they're the mercy of
CPS. They were given custody ofthis teenager for six months. Then they
were going to try to place herin the care of her birth mother,

(20:59):
who lives in Canada, who's neverbeen a part of her life, but
apparently affirms CPS's transition position more thanher father and stepmother who've raised her her
whole life. This is what governmentis. This is absolutely insane. Now
it gets me. I pull thisup because you got who is at Gregian

(21:19):
Forte, who's the governor there,And I was reading this because he was
saying, well, look, thiswas the law of the state. You
know, he's basically saying that hishe defended the state's decision to move this
fourteen year old and he said that, you know, this is the you

(21:41):
know, apparently this is you know, it's the law of the land.
And uh, you know that's youknow, pier. He said that he
asked the Lieutenant governor, Christian Juris, to review the case. So it's
like he almost kind of like slidit on over to the Lieutenant governor and
kind of hung it on her. It's a little weird, but he's like,
well, well, this is theyou know, this is the way

(22:02):
that this that the case went. This is the the law they followed,
state policy. It's a tragic casethat sounds kind of like an excuse.
Right then, that sound like anexcuse because that's what it sounds like to
me. So they had the LGlook at it, and that's he was
on Twitter saying that he said thatunfortunate air society you know, finds in

(22:22):
it. Should it should only beas the last resort, et cetera,
et cetera. He said. Heasked the Lieutenant governor to review it and
consult with CPS, et cetera.Monitor the case. Okay, you're monitoring
the case. Will bid to dooda. In the meantime, this family lost
a fourteen year old girl who hasattention seeking behavior traits, is not exactly
truthful all the time, has probablysome mental health issues, and you are

(22:45):
indulging her body, her dangerous toherself body dys morphia issue, and you
are also disrupting the family unit. And how is any kind of elected Republican
going along with us? Thanks fortuning into today's edition of Dana Lash's Absurd
