Our friends over at Caltech the Subtwo K. This is a nine milimeter
carbine. It's new and it's andy. They may be like, don't be
like, oh, I already haveit. I have one too. I
got the Gen two. I wantthe Gen three because it's there's some different
stuff which I'm getting ready to tellyou about. So this is innovation.
Celtech's innovation at its best. Sopreviously with your sub two K, you
had to take your optics off thefold in half. Yes, it's a

(00:22):
carbine that folds right in half. It's you know, it's like a like
gun worgami and it now you don't. You can keep your optics on it.
And it's just a very simple twistand fold motion. It's a patent
pending rotating four in in either direction. It folds it right in half and
quickly and easily deploys it just asmuch. And that's cool. But they've
also upgraded the aluminum trigger. Yougot a light lightened five pound pull.

(00:42):
You also have upgraded action, anew chamber indicator, all kinds of stuff.
You have to check it out andyou can find out more about the
sub two K read Sub two thousand, Sub two K Gen three at kel

Tell them Dana sent you. DanaLashes of Surge Troots podcast sponsored by
Keltech. It's his laugh mission tomake bad decisions. It's time for Florida

(01:11):
man. You know, this guyis one of my favorite Florida men ever.
So he brought deer into his house. So he's facing charges now.
He brought in endangered deer into hishome in the Florida Keys. But he
was watching Fox News with them, which I admire because at least he didn't
subject the endangered deer to the view. I mean that would have been animal
cruelty, and I think that thatwould have been ultimately the charge. He

(01:33):
was feeding the deer, He hadhim come and side and hang out with
him, and he turned on FoxNews and let him watch. But for
that he's facing charges. Like Isaid, had it been the view,
it would have been animal cruelty.A Florida man was arrested for throwing Chick
fil A at a woman during aroad rage incident. He threw a drink
at her. I think it wasone of those delicious milkshakes. I love
the milkshakes at Chick fil A anyway. Anthony Joseph Pellegrino of clear Water,

(01:57):
I'll be down there soon, hopefullyfor spring training. Was out in a
road rage incident and he threw apartially full Chick fil A drink at a
woman covering her in her vehicle. You know, road rage is not a
fun thing. And this is whyI advise people all the time, even
if somebody cuts you off or something, just don't don't flip in the bird.
Just let it go. There area lot of crazy people out there.
And the guy ruined a perfectly goodChick fil A drink. And finally,

(02:21):
a Florida man was sentenced to fouryears in federal prison after shooting down
a drone that's right on his ownproperty. And he was arrested for this.
And I think this is an outragebecause, I mean, the guy
shot it down in his own property, but apparently he had a gun and
he was ineligible to own a firearmunder federal law, and that's what's going
to lead him to possibly spending fouryears ago. Hi, I'm Erica,

(02:46):
an English major at Hillsdale College. Here's Hillsdale President, doctor Larry arn with
a constitution minute human soul is madeto learn, and the highest things of
life are the best things to learn. One of these, it turned out,
is the way we govern ourselves, and one of the best examples of
that is the Constitution of the UnitedStates. It explains what our government should

(03:07):
look like and how it should functionto best protect our rights. It was
created to give us the freedom tomake choices about the way we wish to
live. Unfortunately, most colleges anduniversities today failed to teach our Constitution.
When they do, they often detegrateit. This is dangerous because it is
impossible to reserve our liberty if wedon't understand where it comes from and how

(03:28):
to protect it. Having a propercivics education is essential to preserving our freedom.

There was a memorandum that was putout on February twenty nine, twenty
twenty four, from the Department ofVeterans Affairs. You know that iconic World

(03:53):
War two kiss. It was afterVJ Day Victory Japan Day in Times Square,
New York, and it's an iconicLife magazine photo that was captured by
a photographer named Alfred Eisenstadt. Itwas August fourteenth, nineteen forty five,
and it truly is one of themost iconic images in America. It's a

(04:14):
US Navy sailor kissing a woman dressedin white. You know the picture.
You've seen it a million times. It's been memorialized in statues, and it's
been memorialized in stamps and pictures allaround the country and everything else. Beautiful,
beautiful picture, iconic shot. Well, right now, there's confusion on
social media about whether or not therereally was an effort to ban the VJ

(04:39):
Day kiss from all department facilities. So let me clarify this for you.
It was one hundred percent real,a real attempt to ban it. Now
you have people on social media whoare claiming that this is fake news.
It's not fake news. The Secretaryof Veterans Affairs came out and essentially said

(04:59):
today, clear this photo is goingto survive. But it only did so
because the actual memorandum was exposed, and it's very real, and it was
a real memo written by a womannamed Rima ann O Nelson, the Assistant
Undersecretary for Health Operations at the VA, and this is what she wrote.

(05:21):
In this memorandum, which was titledRemoval and Replacement of VJ Day in Times
Square Photographs purpose. This memorandum requeststhe removal of the VJ Day and Time
Square photograph from all Veterans Health Administrationfacilities in alignment with the Department of Veterans
Affairs commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and trauma informed environment. This

(05:47):
action is prompted by the recognition thatthe photograph, which depicts a non consensual
act, is inconsistent with the VA'sno tolerance policy towards sexual harassment and assault,
and it quotes the VA handbook sectionand relevant directive. Background on Vjday
in Times Square, captured by AlfredEisenstadt on August fourteenth, nineteen forty five,

(06:12):
is an iconic image from the twentiethcentury. It depicts a US Navy
sailor kissing a woman dressed in white, a dental assistant in Times Square,
New York City, on the dayof japan surrender in World War II,
marking the war's end. This spontaneousmoment was celebrated across the United States,
and the photograph quickly became a symbolof victory and the joyous end to the

(06:32):
long and devastating conflict. The placementof this photograph and Veterans Affairs facilities was
initially intended to celebrate and commemorate theend of World War II and the triumphant
return of American soldiers. However, perspectives on historical events and their representations evolve.
Recent discussions have highlighted concerns about thenon consensual nature of the kiss,

(06:59):
prompting debates on content and the appropriatenessof celebrating such images in today's environment,
especially within institutions such as Veterans HealthAdministration facilities, which are committed to upholding
standards of creating a safe and respectfulenvironment. Decision. The Department of Justice's
current definition of sexual assault includes anynon consensual sexual act or any act where

(07:25):
the victim cannot consent. This definitionis adhered to by the Department when applying
our policies and guidance by the VA'sno tolerance policy towards domestic violence, sexual
harassment, and assault as outlined inVA Handbook and VA Directive blah blah blah.
The VA is committed to eliminating thesebehaviors in our community. Employees have

(07:46):
expressed discomfort with the display of thisphotograph, suggesting that its presence could be
construed as a tacit endorsement of theinappropriate behavior it depicts. To foster a
more drama informed environment that promotes thepsychological safety of our employees and the veterans
we serve, photographs depicting the VJDay in Times Square should be removed from

(08:11):
all Veterans Health Administration facilities. Thisaction reflects our dedication to creating a respectful
and safe workplace, and in keepingwith our broader efforts to promote a culture
of inclusivity and awareness. In celebratingthe end of World War II and the
valiant service of our veterans, facilitiesshould seek alternative photographs to capture the spirit

(08:35):
of victory and peace without compromising theVA's commitment to a safe and respectful environment.
Your cooperation in this matter is vital. Please ensure that these photographs are
promptly removed and facilities explore suitable replacementsthat honor our history and veterans in a
manner consistent with our values. Shouldyou have any questions concerning the memorandum,

(08:56):
please contact Leela Jackson, Director ofthe Assault Harassment Prevention Office. Signed Rema
ann Onelson, Assistant under Secretary ofHealth Operations. So as you can imagine,
this is insane and it caused alot of outrage on social media.
Well, the Secretary of Veterans Affairstweeted something out four years ago. Four

(09:20):
hours ago, excuse me, SecretaryDenise Dennis McDonough, the Secretary of the
Department of Veterans Affairs, tweeted outthe following quote, let me be clear,
this image is not banned from VAfacilities, and we will keep it
in VA facilities. That was tweetedout this morning at ten oh three am
on March fifth. The memorandum waswritten on February twenty ninth. And just

(09:46):
so you understand, the memorandum wasreal. It's not fake news. They
really try to do this. Theytry to do the same thing with the
banning of William Penn. William Penn, of course, he was the guy
who founded Pennsylvania. It was aQuaker, was a big anti slavery guy.
They wanted to ban William Penn toeradicate him because in some way,

(10:11):
shape or form, it was offensiveapparently to those who were sensitive to the
Native American heritage and culture and blah, blah blah. It was fake outrage.
Nobody really was offended by William Penn'shouse in Philadelphia. Nobody was offended
by the William Penn statue. Butthey were going to do it until the
Governor Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, calledthe Department of the Parks the National Interior

(10:33):
and said cut it out, andthey dropped the plans to do it.
But just like with that, thiswas real. They wanted to cancel that
famous photograph. It's not fake news. But you see, we live in
an age now where information comes atyou so fast that a lot of people
are now assuming that since the Secretaryof Veterans Affairs tweeted that out that the

(10:54):
story was fake news, that theywere never going to try to ban the
picture. No no, no,no, no, no, no no.
It was one hundred percent real. The only reason why they stopped it
and the only reason why the memowas February twenty ninth, today's March fifth.
So days later, the Secretary comesout and says it's going to stay
is because people spoke up and said, what what are you doing? What

(11:16):
are you banning now? So itwas the Veteran's Affairs secretary who overruled the
plans, but it was one hundredpercent real, not fake news. I
have to clarify that because living inthe age that we live in right now,
it's hard to know what's real andwhat's not. And the Secretary of

(11:37):
Veterans Affairs doesn't want anyone to knowthat they really were going to do this.
The woman who wrote that memo shouldbe fired. The woman who wrote
that memo should be fired and shouldnot have a job because she wanted to
ban that photo. She's a typicalyour DEI hire who was absolutely somebody who
wanted to go out there and destroythis and get rid of an iconic American

(11:58):
moment because it violates woke sensibilities todaybecause the kiss was non consensual, and
she would have got away with ithad there not been the outrage that ensued
on social media, which led somebodyto calling Washington and the VA secretary coming
around and saying, okay, okay, okay, okay, we will keep

(12:20):
it, We'll keep it going. But you see, the coward who is
the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, he'snot acknowledging the reality of this. He's
not acknowledging that it's true. He'sjust pretending like, oh no, no,
we're keeping it because they don't wantto acknowledge it. That's what they
were trying to get away with andthey almost did had it not been for
people like you and me and otherswho spoke out and said this is insane,

(12:41):
why would you do this? Theyalmost got away with it. But
this is what they do, andthis is what they try to do when
they try to cancel things. Butone of the positive things about social media
is that enough people can speak out. Like I remember when they tried to
cancel William Penn. It was actuallyon my way to do an interview on
Fox News that night on Jesse Waters'Prime time. It was about seven thirty

(13:05):
pm. I got the phone callthat the governor had announced that they were
not going to move forward with plansto remove William Penn and the William Penn
House from the National Park Service inPhiladelphia. And so the issue was mood
at that point. But that wasanother win for social media, and actually,
to the credit of the Philadelphie Quirer, they wrote a piece on that

(13:28):
and they said the controversy that endedbecause of social media outrage. But you
have to know what these people inWashington are trying to do all the time,
which is to cancel our history andcancel iconic American moments in the name
of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Anything that doesn't match their woke standards.

(13:50):

an additional fifteen percent off that fastand we sent you. Well, you
know, in the world of craziness, Rue Paul stands the test of time.
Rue Paul is sending a Rainbow busto give away books targeted by bands.
First, so there are no booksthat are banned in this country,

(15:20):
but Rue Paul the drag Star isnow one of three business partners to give
away books in efforts to ensure thatthe woke curriculum is pushed down the throats
of our children. And it's areal damn shame too, because they won't
stop trying to indoctrinate our children. The Rainbow Book Bus will be traveling across

(15:41):
the country trying to indoctrinate our childrenwith all this pornography and other things in
these books outrageous. A heated custodybattle over a transgender child in California stokes
a viral debate desert or social mediainfluencer Chris Elston, who goes by the
handle billboard Chris and travels the countrydenouncing medical treatment for transgender You posted a

(16:03):
video, and the fact of thematter is it shows him interviewing a South
Carolina father who claimed that his fiveyear old had been taken away from him
by the state because he objected tothe child being transgender. More stories like
this are happening right now, andthe fact that the kid is a child
should be enough for the state tosay, we're staying out of this,
and you pay it the child asyou see fit. But of course the

(16:26):
state wants to normalize this lunacy,in this madness, and that's the problem.
The tush push will remain for now. In the NFL, the tush
push will survive as the NFL doesn'twant to ban the play. Despite speculation
that the off used quarterback sneak variationpop Your Eyed by the Eagles, my
team could get banned. NFL executivestold The New York Post that the league

(16:49):
will take no such action. Don'tpunish a team less strategically does the tush
push well, which is good.Since Jason Kelsey retired from the Eagles officially
yesterday, we don't need the tushpush ending either. The Eagles need all
the help we can get. Therise of the do nothing vacation, it's
a thing more travelers say they wantto make relaxation their top priority. Well

(17:10):
on holiday, well, we don'tget to do that people without kids.
I learned a long time ago thatwhen you go on vacation with your children
again, I have a nine yearold to seven year old and a three
year old, you're not actually goingon vacation. You're going on trips because
there's no relaxation whatsoever. You haveto entertain them the entire time unless you
put them in those kiddie clubs duringthe day. But my wife and iron
fans of that. So there's noreally vacations when you have children. You

(17:36):
have trips. You might get avacation night here and there, but you're
not getting an actual vacation. Soif you have the ability to do a
do nothing vacation, I highly recommendyou do so. There's actually a term
for that in Italy. You justbasically do nothing. You just enjoy and
relax and rest yourself and regroup. But again, it only happens before the
little ones come around, because theychange everything. Speaking of change everything,

(18:00):
there's a new game coming out whichI'm very excited about. I liked playing
Madden Football when I was a kid. And there's gonna be an EA Sports
College Football twenty five video game. They haven't done a college football video game
in ten years. Well, CollegeFootball twenty five is coming out, but
there's already outrage. ESPN reporter HollyRow questioned the iconic game by EA Sports

(18:22):
and said, how come there areno women involved? How about including some
women? EA Sports? See,there has to be outrage about everything.
I got an answer for you.Women don't play college football, all right.
Anyway, AOC Alexandrio Casick Grtz, who everybody knows. She's the leader
of a squad. That's an extremegroup of Democrats in the house. It's

(18:45):
the elan Omar It's or Schieta talibIt's it's that whole group of knutbags.
Even she got confronted by anti Israelsupporters wanting her to say genocide. This
is how extreme these people are. They even confront the most extreme members of
the Democrat Party. So here's alittle clip with cub cut number seven.

(19:07):
This is a little clip of heron the streets of New York as they
confronted AOC. I don't know whereshe was going. She maybe was going
to teach bartending lessons. No offenseto bartenders. I mean, it's a
great gig if you can get it, and she was she was a bartender.
I don't knock that. I mean, I think people work for a
living are great. More people shoulddo that. They should work for a
living instead of just you know, going to college and getting a useless degree.

(19:29):
Oh and speaking of working voters,I saw today as I was driving
into work in Philadelphia, all theseguys are working on the side of the
road, you know, and they'reall poor and cement and they all have
their union stickers on. And theywere all wearing Trump either shirts or Trump
stickers on their hard hats, orthey had Trump flags on their trucks.

(19:51):
It's a great reminder of the dichotomythat exists in this country between the union
bosses, the leadership, and theunion members. Kind Of like when that
guy who was a out of theUnited Autoworkers Union admitted he knows that even
though he endorsed Biden, that amajority of his members are not going to
vote for Biden. Dude, it'san overwhelming majority of your members are not
going to vote for Joe Biden,an overwhelming majority. There's a dichotomy between

(20:17):
union guys and gals and the unionleadership. I see it all the time.
I saw it in twenty sixteen beingin Philadelphia. You hear from carpenters,
you hear from plumbers, electricians. They don't care who their union leadership
endorses. They don't care. Andmany times they do that stuff because of
the internal politics when it comes tothings like negotiating pensions and contracts and all
kinds of other stuff. So theunion bosses do that to placate the local

(20:41):
Democrats, who are the ones whodivvy out all those things. The members
don't care. Members don't care whothe union boss picks for the president.
They're voting for the guy who theythink is gonna better for their paycheck.
And the United Autoworkers boss he hadacknowledges much. He said, I know
a vast majority of our members arenot gonna vote for Biden. They're gonna
vote with their paycheck. I mean, it doesn't get a better admission than

(21:06):
that, am I right? Buthere's AOC getting confronted by people who are
even crazier than she is. Cutnumber seven, then just say it's a
genocide. Just say it over thirtygoods if you want or done a don't
see you can't just say it forus. Just say that's it, that's
all we wanted to say. Oryou're not a publicly cut it and you're

(21:30):
gonna cut this and you're gonna clipthis so that it is completely out of
context. I already said that itwas, and you're just gonna pretend that
it wasn't over and over again. It's done. Man, you're not helping
people, and you're not helping them. Refuse, you're not helping them.
You're not helping them. You're nothelping them. You know what's funny,

(21:52):
though she's saying, I already acknowledgedthat it was genocide. I mean,
basically is what she's acknowledging. Soyou're you're still placating the extreme lunatics.
Here, here's Michael Moore to beingof extreme lunatics, demanding the Jews focus
on fighting white Christians, not hamasThis is the modern Democrat Party today.
This is what you're dealing with. This is why a guy like Senator John

(22:15):
Fetterman of Pennsylvania is coming out andsounding reasonable right now as he stands with
Israel. Think about that. JohnFetterman, who is the United States Center
for Pennsylvania, who ran as theBernie Sanders of Pennsylvania, a progressive guy,
had a long history of that. He's now getting attacked by people like
Will Bunch, who is the residentlefty writer for the Philadelphia Choirer, that's

(22:37):
the city newspaper, bashing Fetterman ishaving done a one point eighty embracing things
like wanting border security and standing withIsrael. The Democrat Party has a problem,
and it is an extreme problem. And this is the other issue right
now is that when James Carvill's grouplooked at polling data, they found that
even Democrats acknowledged that the Democrat Partyis the party of extremism, not the

(23:03):
Republicans, despite all the claims aboutMAGA and everything else, Despite all those
claims, they think it is theDemocrat Party that is more extreme. I'll
give you another example. Everybody, every single person knows how crazy, how
crazy Keith Oberman is And this guyis trying so hard to stay relevant right

(23:23):
now. He's trying so hard tostay relevant by tweeting out crazy, crazy
stuff. So this is what hejust tweeted out a short time ago,
and I'll share this with you fromhis Twitter account. F you Sonya Soto
Mayor, F you Elena Kagan,F you Katanji Brown Jackson. Liberal women

(23:44):
are e fing useless. The DemocratParty has a crazy person problem. Here's
Michael Moore, another crazy guy cuteight. For the last two thousand years,
most of the persecution has come fromwhite European centric Christians. That's been
your enemy. No Palestinian helped tobuild Auschwitz. No Palestinian stood on the

(24:07):
docks of New York City when boatloadsof Jewish refugee refugees trying to escape the
Holocaust came here to be protected bythis country and were turned away at the
docks in New York and sent backto Germany to die. No Palestinian did
that. No Palestinian ran the SpanishInquisition. Your enemy, Your enemy is
not the Palestinian people. It iswhite Christian European people who have been slaughtering

(24:37):
Jews for the last two thousand years. Okay, this is the crazy people
problem. Here's Vice President Kamala Harrisagain, the crazy people problem, addressing
the extreme base of the Democrat Party. Why as you're heading into a general
election, why cut number nine? You know, the President and I have
been very clear that Israel has aright to defend itself, that we have

(25:02):
got to make sure that the civiliansaren't being killed, and that we've got
to get these hostages out and thatis one of the highest priorities right that,
right now we have. And I'lltell you the President has been an
extraordinary leader in getting us to thispoint that we have a six week deal.
And so Hamas needs to do thisthing, as I talked about yesterday,
and so we all want this conflictto end as soon as possible.

(25:23):
And how it does matters. Mmhmmmm hmm. So Hamas has got to
do its things. Thanks for tuningin to today's edition of Dana Lash's Absurd
