(00:00):
Dana Lashes of surd Truth podcast sponsoredby Keltech's laugh mission to make bad decisions.
It's time for Florida mano. Allright, So first up we a
man wearing a wig. It issorry, this is hysterical. I'm not

(00:30):
trying to laugh at those, butit's so guy looks so funny. Okay,
And maybe I was trying to stiflea laugh. And in my eyes
water place in central Florida or onthe hunt for a man who was accused
of robbing a Bank of America whilewearing a wig. Now he was Is
that a face mask that he's wearing, like not like pre COVID, but
like a COVID face mask? Seehuhuh. He entered the Bank of America

(00:55):
in Edgewater, showed the bank tellera note as he displayed a firearm.
He had a fake it will obviouslyfake. But they hit a wig on
and uh he's a big dude, and they police are sharing photos of him.
He's in a long haired wig, blue jeans, a white shirt,
gray zeb up jacket, carrying alittle black bag. And nobody would ask
questions because we're in that era whereI mean, don't assume its pronouns you

(01:18):
know, he's just doing very poorlyas a woman. No, right,
am I right? You can't askquestions because that maybe he's worried about the
pandemic. Maybe he's a trans youknow, so you can't ask questions.
Pre all of that, people wouldbe like, you're here to rob us,
But now you can't because you're assumingit's pronouns so I don't know anyway,

(01:40):
so they can't find him. Nowlet's do robbed a bank. He
robbed a bank, and you're urgedto contact a detective. Yeah, apparently
that's it. You know, thepeople that were are happiest about the trans
stuff and the face masks robbers, bank robbers, because like I said,
before all of that, y'all wouldhave been like, that man's gonna rob
us. You need to hit thealarm. But now you can't because it's

(02:04):
considered mean. Maybe he's here torob you. Maybe he just just started
trying to be a woman and he'sjust horrible. You don't know, and
he's worried about germs. You don'tknow. I don't even know how this.
A Florida woman was missing for daysand they found her in a shipping
container. You know that happens sometimes. Yeah, it was click Orlando Marlene

(02:24):
Lopez. She was missing. Theyfound her the next day, just before
noon, in a shipping container nextto a business. They asked what happened.
She said she didn't know. Iwas in one place and found in
another. And apparently the people whoowned the shipping container, they win it.
They secured it for the night. They didn't know she was in there,
but finally they heard her. NewYork Posts said they somebody heard her

(02:46):
banging on the from the inside andthey called police. I'm not saying it's
aliens, but yeah, was shedrugged and just stuffed in a container or
aliens? Or that She's wearing anearly nineties neck choker, So I'm assuming
drugs because it had a charm onit. If it was just a thin

(03:07):
black choker, I'd be like,Okay, maybe she's just you know,
retro. But it had a charmon it, and I always thought that
was the trashier version of it.So I'm thinking drugs. That's my That
is Detective Dana figuring this out.Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah. Apple
air tags. If Florida man isaccused of stalking his axe using Apple air
tags, I mean Yeah, thegirlfriend of Robert Roberto Queon of fifty seven

(03:34):
years old Florida man. His girlfriendleft him in October, but he began
harassing her and stalking her. Hewould pass her home every day, duck
tape, handwritten letters to her car'swindshield, and she also found Apple air
tags in her vehicle several times. And then he was threatening that he would
do something batter her. So he'sin jail Miami Dade, held without bond.
M Now this one hold up,I wanna uh this is actually I

(04:00):
think incredibly this man is living inthe future. Florida man was accused of
posing as a drug cartel captive andextorting eighty thousand dollars from his wife,
all to support his own drug habit. Yeah. A Melbourne, Florida man.
He lied and pretended that he waskidnapped by drug cartels and he extorted

(04:21):
his own wife for eighty thousand dollarsso he could go buy more drugs.
Yeah. Eric Paul Johnson twenty nineyears old, and his wife reported him
missing, and then she said thatshe received messages from an unknown number demanding
sums of money and they told herthat apparently were a Mexican cartel and we

(04:41):
have your husband and she believed them. I'm just saying hi. I'm Margaret,
a rhetoric and media major at HillsdaleCollege. Here's Hillsdale President, doctor
Larry Arne with a Constitution Minute. Many argue today that the Constitution is outdated
because it addresses problem peculiar to theeighteenth century, so long ago, and

(05:02):
some of it does read sort ofquaintly. But consider the injunction against titles
of nobility in Article one, Sectionnine, for example. Is that so
outdated? The purpose of that injunctionis to prevent the government granting special privileges
for partisan reasons. This strikes itthe rule of law, the rule under
which were all to be treated thesame. The cony capitalism so common today,

(05:25):
where the government gives favors and taxdollars to some businesses and advantages over
others, is exactly the kind ofthing the Constitution was meant to prohibit.
The Constitution is not outdated at all. To learn more and get a free
pocket constitution, visit constitutionminute dot com. Have you seen this story? It's

(05:51):
the number of gen z who saythat they're gay or bisexual has doubled to
twenty two percent. You're lying. They said women is twice as likely as
men to be LGBTQ plus. Ithink it's because it's overrepresented and everything,

(06:12):
absolutely everything. It is so overrepresented. Do you I just I would I
get mad if I see like girlpower stuff overrepresented. I get so tired
of all that stuff. It feelslike it's offensive and it's patronizing. At
some point, like how they dothe Pridday. All the companies are like,
wait a minute, here's all ourrainbow stuff. Let's make some money.

(06:36):
Psychologists are debating whether or not it'sa reflection of write really you're going
to debate it. We kind ofknow rising exposure to social media, which
it is because it's completely entirely overrepresented. I like the Ricky Gervais stand up
routine he did because he was talkingabout all the people who like want to
identify, they start trying to findan identity and they want to be different.

(06:59):
And he did this whole bit onyou know this guy he was questioning
someone and he was and he waslike, so you know what, you
know asking him because the guy waslike, you know what, I'm queer
now, It's like you are,Yeah, I'm right queer. I'm proper
queer. Yeah, And he's likeyou are, and he's like, yeah,

(07:20):
me and my girlfriend, which isa couple of queers, and he's
like, wait a minute, whatIt was such a funny bit. But
I think a lot of Honestly,I think a lot of people do it
because they think it's the they thereason that this is going up is because
of oversaturation, over representation, andit's like the new way of shunning.
I think what they view as mainstreamsocietal standards, which if they know anything

(07:45):
about mainstream societal standards, you're playinginto them, right. I don't get
it. It's it's they said that, but women are twice as likely as
dudes, because I think guys findit hotter ifmen are. Maybe I have
such an observation that I cannot makeon air right now, But it's so

(08:05):
true. You want to know why, Kane, Why, No, it's
actually I don't. It's because womendon't necessarily want to be with a guy
if they've known that. Oh boy, all right, it's true though,
Am I wrong? No? You'renot wrong? Actually, And I wish

(08:28):
we could tell people. I thinkthey kind of no, I think they
probably but I'm just saying I'm notI'm not like making a declarative statement.
I'm just saying I think, youknow, there's an observation there regulation.
Yeah, the whole movement also demonizedmasculinity. Yeah, so I'm thinking that,
you know, obviously women are they'renot going to be, you know,

(08:48):
in this group and then you know, identify as men. I love
how third wave hates third wave feminismhates masculinity so bad that they are willing
to debase themselves and get them toactually like become it. It's the wildest
cell phone I've ever seen in mylife. It's like they were infiltrated by

(09:09):
the progressive patriarchy. Yes, yes, ladies, it's all going according to
our plan. The vaudeville mustache. That's what it is, and you know
it. That's exactly it. Thisis the wildest thing. It's so wild.
One other story, you want toknow why people are not enlisting?

(09:31):
I had this This is in yourprep. A couple of things. First
off, I saw this tweet fromthe Department of State, Remember the one
tweet that they had where they weretalking about alphabet rits. Blah blah blah
blah, blah blah blah blah, and they did all this stuff and they
came out with all these videos.Well, now you have West Point.

(09:54):
Pull this up, West Point, right West Point. They dropped do Duty,
Honor and Country that motto from itsmission statement and veterans are furious the
phrase it was added in nineteen ninetyeight. It's going to be replaced with
Army Values, according to Superintendent LieutenantGeneral Steve Gilland, and he says,

(10:18):
the new admission statement binds the academyto the Army, while duty, honor
and Country is foundational to academy culture. Now their statement has changed in the
past, but what is wrong withduty, honor and country like Army values?
What does that even mean? Whydid you have to change it from
duty, honor and Country because thatseems like it's that seems like a woke

(10:43):
thing. And veterans are slaming it. People who went to West Point and
these veterans are slaming it. They'resaying that this is disgraceful. They got
it from this because they had Itwas a statement that was sent to West
Point cadets on Monday, and that'sapparently what when they were notifying people but

(11:05):
they were saying that this is,you know, this is what they this
was, even though it was adoptedin ninety eight, This is, you
know, a part of you know, our culture. I'm the motto was
introduced ninety eight, but they gotit from this statement that MacArthur, General
Douglas MacArthur had made in nineteen sixtytwo, and it was his speech where

(11:26):
he had said, quote, thelong gray line has never failed us.
Were you to do so, amillion ghosts and olive, drab and brown,
khaki, blue and gray would risefrom their white crosses thundering those magic
words duty, honor, country. And that's where they took it from.
So why would they have to changeit too army values. That's so dumb.
It's because you have to take aparteverything that's iconic to replace it was

(11:48):
something new. It's nineteen eighty four. These sub two K guys are very
familiar with the sub two k.Now read sub two thousand on the website.
It's a nine millimeter carbine. Itfolds in half. The gent three
version makes it to where you don'thave to detach your favorite optics to fold
it in half. And because itfolds and half, it makes it super
easy to distroy to store, andsuper easy and just as quick to deploy.

(12:09):
And it's uh, like I said, shipping now. A single twist
and fold motion in either direction ofthat patent pending rotating for in. That's
that's what does it. And againno more reattaching. Detaching your favorite optics
takes glockmags Glock nineteen mags fit flushand there's a They upgraded the trigger mechanics

(12:31):
as well, redesigned for a lightand five pound pool, improved accuracy.
They've updated the action as well. They have a new internal buffer which means
softer recoil. It's a great ninemillimeter carbine four I mean whatever you I
mean. It's so versatile and it'sshipping right now, and it's affordable.
It's from Caltech, based in Florida, made in America, family own values
and innovation all their designs. Tolearn more about the sub two Kgen three,

(12:56):
visit cal Tech Weapons dot com.That's k E l t Ec Weapons
dot com. Tell them Dane tosend to you. And now all of
the news you would probably miss. It's time for Dana's Quick five. So
nobody's selling books anymore. There wasthis very interesting report that came out.
It had to do with this trialthat took place two years ago. Penguin
Random House wanted to buy Simon andSchuster and they had an opposition. It

(13:18):
was a two point two billion dollarpurchase and there was opposition to it because
they were condensing the big five publishinghouses into four, and so the government
intervened. It was an anti trustcase. Anyway, there was this report.
All of these people got up,all of these publishing titans got up,
and they were talking about how bestsellers are rare and nobody buys books

(13:39):
anymore. Nobody actually buys books anymore. They're saying that, I mean,
ultimately, it's very rare to evenmove like a thousand units. That's crazy.
It's just digital or people's attention spans. I don't know, it's it's
wild. Also, let's see Nope, I don't want to do this one.
We're not even touching that. I'mgoing to touch it. Not touching

(14:01):
that one. A Swiss Air jetalmost collided with four other planes in a
near catastrophic accident on the JFK runway. It was this is wild. It
was a jet with Swiss Air.It almost hit four other planes. It
was a communications error that put themall on the runway at the same time.
It was bound for Zurich, ithad been cleared for takeoff. It

(14:22):
began rushing down the runway, butthey had to hit the brakes because apparently
air traffic control also cleared the pathfor four other planes, according to ABC
seven, and there was audio thatcaptured it, and it said heavy rejecting
takeoff traffic on the runway was whatthe pilot had said. Thankfully, Swiss
Air they had a really quick thinkingpilot and the crew and they said that

(14:43):
they quickly de escalated it. TheFAAS investigating the agency didn't respond, But
that's wild. So like they wereone there, they were going to cross.
I mean, that's that is sodangerous. Can you imagine? Thank
heavens, they were quick thinking onthat all of that stuff. Let's see
the Topeka Zoo ostriche is dead becauseit grabbed and swallowed a staff member's key.

(15:09):
That's really sad. That is sosad that that hell, oh my
gosh, So this poor ostrich somehowgot a hold of I mean, it
saw somebody had keys. It wasshiny, it made noise, and so
they grabbed it. The Ostrich grabbedit consumed it. It's a five year
old female Ostrich named Karen. Ithad lived there since March of last year,

(15:31):
and it was in the Giraffe Friendsexhibit, and they didn't make the
staff member's name public. It makesme think that they're not supposed to have
objects like that near the ostriches.Things are quick and curious. So that's
the little sad story. Let's see. Also, an ambulance ran over a
police officer and a woman while respondingto a medical distress call. This was
an Edmonton. The ambulance that wascalled to assist the woman in distress struck

(15:56):
both the woman who called the ambulanceto assist her in distress and the police
officer that was helping her. Theycame across a woman in a parking lot
in medical distress. They were providingfirst day they call ems. When the
police arrived, it legit ran rightover the woman and the officer, like
how did they show up, justbarreling into the parking lot. They took

(16:18):
both of them to the hospital withnon life threatening injuries by another ambulance,
so they apparently they were investigating howthat happened. Good Grief, they've called
the recalled cat robots in Japan secatoys. They said there's a burning smell and
apparently also they're satanic. I'm kiddingabout the last part. They said that
they're the robot cats smell like burning, like burning cats are just like a

(16:41):
burning electronics that I feel like there'sbut they said, no, there's the
recall and it's uh, I mean, they just released these things in February,
and so they said that, yeah, they it's I don't know if
you've seen the video of these, they're really weird. Have you seen the
video for it. It's it's arobot cat. It's a cat that's a

(17:06):
robot and it's and apparently some ofthe fur burns too. Like that.
They said that some of the that'sit's jokes. Let me read let me
read this to you. The catrobots were marketed as replacements, and users
are shown cuddling the machines, caressingtheir faces and speaking to them while they're
black lit, blue eyes glow. That's terrifying. Stay with us. I

(17:30):
wanted to share this piece with you. I found this interesting, this headline
about how apparently now jeans guys arewell, they're problematic now jeans. This
Uh, these climate freaks scientists saythat wearing jeans is bad for the environment.

(17:52):
A study reveals that wearing a pairjust once is the equivalent of driving
a car for six point four minsleshmm, uh what, oh, yes,
it's exactly. It's uh. Ofcourse it's a Chinese University of Technology,
of course, because you know thereisn't any interest in China, and

(18:14):
that China hasn't making you abandon youknow, all of your your daily habits
for a quote unquote green lifestyle. But they say that the jeans has a
significant impact on the environment. Doyou know that their coalbalt mining probably does
too, but they didn't do astudy on that. Weird, This is
ironic. You have a communist nationthat's trying to tell you that wearing jeans

(18:37):
is problematic for the environment, whichI think is fascinating. I want to
tell you this story. There wasthis and in Britain there is this show.
It's like a gardening show and thisyou know, older dude named Alan
titch Marsh hosts it and it's aGarden Secrets. It's the BBC and apparently

(19:02):
it's one of the only things thatNorth Korea will actually air that is a
foreign program and they consider it,I guess, wholesome enough to air it
on North Korean state TV, becauseremember they got one channel and it's been
running since twenty twenty two. Butwhat's interesting is that this guy's pants have

(19:27):
been blurred out, and if theblur wasn't blue, you would think that
maybe they blurret it out because hewas naked from the waist down or something.
The reason that they that North Koreantelevision blurted out is because genes are
considered a symbol of US imperialism accordingto North Korean government. Now this is

(19:49):
not the first time it's been thoughtthat North Korea has a major problem with
the genes because of what they symbolize, and they do symbolize, not imperialism,
but freedom, freedom and finance, freedom and personal expression. And this
goes all the way back to theearly eighties. In East Germany where Denham

(20:10):
were blue jeans was for boten. You weren't allowed. They had a whole
socialist style guide and blue jeans werenot part of it. It was a
very American thing. And even thoughthat they tried to stop it with trade
bands and restrictions on what kind ofclothing could be imported beyond the Iron Curtain.

(20:33):
They were the most popular clothing itemin Eastern Germany. And there's a
reason why. And I was readingthis photographer he wrote he was taking some
of the pictures there when the wallfell, and he himself had made note
that, particularly amongst the East Berliners, everyone was in blue jeans. And
they were in blue jeans for areason, because this was considered a very

(20:56):
expensive item beyond the Iron Curtain, because it was banned, you know,
because it was considered a form ofAmericanism, westernized, you know, Western
values, freedom, and there wasand they all wore them. They all
wore them when the wall was fallingdown. And so there are these pictures
of all these teenagers and youth andeven young adults and older adults that were
sitting on the wall, and theywere all in jeans. And there's a

(21:18):
reason for that. And they saidthat the uh, the pants that they
wanted everyone to wear was called theRiveted trouser and it was produced by the
East German youth fashion house. That'swhat they wanted everyone to wear. And
Levi's and wranglers, uh, theywere scarce and expensive people would trade.

(21:40):
They had all kinds of stuff.Whenever people would go in to visit friends
or family or if they did somekind of work in East Germany or East
Berlin, they would they would theywould go and uh, they would smuggle
in jeans and they could, youknow, sell them for quite a lot
of money. And they bartered. They had to barter, and not just
for that before a lot of musicand all of that stuff as well,

(22:00):
but jeans were it was. Itwas a symbol of power, it was
a symbol of freedom. It wasa symbol of emancipation on the other side
of the Iron Curtain, and itwas they were a very free thing.
And there's there's several I think there'sactually a book on fashion with related to

(22:22):
the Iron Curtain and the Eastern Blocand all of that. But it's fascinating
because now you can you can sortof understand because apparently they just noticed that
North Korea started blurring out this guy'spants because they were gens. Because they
were gens. So it's one ofthe funniest things. It's one of the
oddest things ever. But now youcan see it. It it They don't
they don't want people to to tosee what he's wearing, to see that

(22:47):
symbol. But yeah, that wasthe big prized thing. And I just
find that incredibly interesting, very coincidentalthat here you have North Korea shortstack down
there. They they want to banjeans, they want to they don't allow
they don't even allow them represented ina simple garden show, just like they
wouldn't allow them beyond the Iron Curtainbecause they had meaning, they meant something.
