(00:00):
Dana Lashes of surd Truth podcast sponsoredby Keltech. It's his life mission to
make bad decisions. It's time forFlorida man. Good night, all right,
So I have to I have totell you about this one. First
off, a Florida man hit outin a Walgreens for a closed Walgreens for
(00:23):
like five hours, hit in thebathroom for five hours so he could sneak
out and get snacks. I'm noteven joking with you. It's New Smyrna
Beach, Florida. A man wasarrested early Monday morning because he stole snacks
and drinks from the Walgreens there. They were officers responded to the store because
(00:47):
an alarm went off at three amand the alarm company said there's a dude
inside the store'sman closings. Ten pm, though so security footage showed the guy,
identified as Christopher Morgan, entering thebathroom at nine forty pm. He
didn't leave it until two forty two. He was in the bathroom for five
hours and then he went around andhad himself some toast titos, some spinach
dip reesees, some Giradelli chocolate, doctor pepper, and he got himself a
(01:10):
pack of Newports cigarettes and then whenofficers are right, they could see him
like literally getting the smokes and havingsome snacks and all that, and officers
the security alarms going off, andthey went in and they go They asked
him if anyone else was inside thebuilding, and he acted confused, like
he like he couldn't be there, and he said he didn't know. I
just came here to use the bathroom, That's what he said. So they
(01:33):
arrested him on petty theft, resistingan officer without violence, battery law enforcement
officer. He has more than twoprior convictions of larceny, so that's some
dedication though. I mean, andhe just goes out gets snacks. Man
just goes and gets some snacks.Let's see. So this Florida man faces
two charges because he told his exto buy him new clothes or he's gonna
(01:53):
put nudy photos of her online.Golly, he's from Miramar. Keon pont
In nineteen was arrested by Miami policefor pressuring his ex girlfriend to buy him
new clothes and he said he wasgoing to share her private photos on social
media if she did not meet hisdemand. So now he's facing charges of
second degree fell in the extortion andmisdemeanor sexual cyber harassment. Also, who
(02:16):
in the hellison in this nineteen yearold nudy photos? Like, what is
wrong with your judgment? I'm notsaying you deserve it, but never do
that kind of stuff, Like whatis the matter with you? So yeah,
that's not so good for that guy. A barefoot Florida man wrestled a
nuisance Gater, which sidebar that soundslike? So nuisance Gater sounds like a
(02:39):
twangy banjo fueled rockabilly group that onlyplays on a pontoon in a swamp.
I know, but you got tohave the whole description otherwise it's and they
only played Leonard Skynerd covers. It'slike a skinnered cover band, but only
with banjo's on a pontoon in theswamp. Nuisance Gater anyway, So,
a barefoot Florida and totally wrangled thisgator at a Jacksonville fire station. He's
(03:04):
a gator trapper named Mike Draggitch, which is exactly what a gator trapper's name
would sound like. And he Iguess he lives his life barefoot. I
don't know. But he came agator was causing trouble literally because when a
guy came a power company came tocheck on the water meter, it was
apparently in the water somehow. Idon't know what was going on, but
this guy, he grabbed the gatorby the tail and he done wrestling down
(03:27):
and tape these mouths shut. Thisis the second time this dude's been filmed.
The last time he answered the callof a neighborhood who they were being
harassed by an eight foot nuisance gaterin the middle of the road, and
again barefoot, he wrestled the thingin the middle of the street. So
this guy's like barefoot alligator wrestler, right, I'm just saying, turbo charging

(05:00):
I think that the leftist calls forunity are absolute garbage. Case in point,
Can we talk about the Tenacious Dstuff real quick? So Tenacious D
we played this yesterday. Kyle Gasand Jack Black form Tenacious D. They
were on stage in Australia on Sundayand Kyle Gas goes out there and he's
like, yeah, you know, but what did he say? Like he
was talking about the Trump assassination andhe's like, uh yeah, don't miss
(05:23):
next time. Well then the pushbackcame, like there was I'm gonna pull
this up. There was an Australianlawmaker who was like, you're deported,
and they legit like are trying tolike now propose uh like le just like
they had issued a statement saying theguy was gonna seek a way to have
him deported. I mean, theyain't playing with us, They're serious.
So then so then they had thetenacious d apology and you had Kyle Gas
(05:48):
on Instagram come out and say, quote, the line I improvised on stage
Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous, and a terrible mistake.
I don't condone violence of any kindin any form against anyone, and what
happened was a tragedy, and I'mincredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgment.
I profoundly apologize to those I've letdown and truly regret any pain I've
(06:12):
caused. In quote, any painhe's cased like a father's dead because of
that kind of hatred. Another fatherwas almost dead because of that kind of
hatred. If this was a realapology. I feel like Kyle Gass would
have admitted it and then maybe wouldhave donated to the victims' families, don't
you think so. I mean, maybe he would have at the very least
mentioned it in his apology. Sothen Jack Black comes out and he issues
(06:38):
a statement saying quote again on Instagram. I was blindsided by what was said
at the show on Sunday. Iwould never condone hate speech or encourage political
violence in any form. After muchreflection, I no longer feel it is
appropriate to continue the Tenacious de tourand all future creative plans are on hold.
I am grateful to the fans fortheir support and understanding end quote.
So I don't think that Jack Blackhad a problem when just a couple of
(07:08):
weeks ago he was at a fundraiserfor a guy who has repeatedly called the
Republican nominee an existential threat. Intimatedthat people who support that existential threat as
a choice for president are somehow culpablein fascism, or they are Nazis,
(07:28):
or they're something else. They haveweaponized agencies to go after people. I
mean, the rhetoric is backed upby actions that are carried out by these
corrupt bureaucrats. He had no problemwhen he was at a fundraiser for this
guy who is saying the same typeof rhetoric just a couple of weeks ago.
So forgive me if I don't takeany of this seriously. I forgive
(07:53):
me if I just don't think thatthey're serious with their apologies, because I
don't think it is. I mean, those are the rules, by the
way, is it not? Arethose not the rules of the left,
the rules of the left art?Nope, You've got to be totally destroyed.
Now, no apologies at all, whatsoever? I mean, isn't Kane
what do we say with that?Dems de rules? Dems are the rules.
(08:15):
Dems de rules every time they hadI was looking at this. This
is Senator Ralph Babbett, the UnitedAustralia Party senator for Victoria, who came
out with the deportation proposal. Imean the audience roared an accept an acceptance
of this. I mean they thoughtit was a great thing. If Jack
Black thought it was so bad.Again, this rhetoric has been ongoing,
(08:37):
Like why now all of a sudden, Oh, because it was on stage,
does that make it different? Imean, why now, all of
a sudden, is it bad tosay the stuff that apparently has been fine
to say up until this point? Why now? I mean, Kyle Gas,
I get why he's rushing to apologize. What the hell does that guy
do if he's not in tenacioust Whatdoes Kyle Gas if he's not in tenacous
(09:01):
D? Jack Black at least hasa career outside of Tenacius D. But
is he gonna get more movies madewith this stuff? I will say this,
in my career, I've been verycareful not to classify politicians or people
who are on the opposing ideological sideof me as Nazis or terrorists or quote
(09:22):
unquote existential threats. I save thosedescriptions for actual Hitler butt kissing Nazis and
actual you know, terrorists, andactual existential threats like the sweet meteor of
death. I preserve that language forthose things. I don't diminish the atrocity
of those moral failings by assigning thewords to describe them to people who merely
(09:48):
think differently than I do on policy. And I guess that's what makes me
different from people like Kyle Gas.I just I think that's just so lame.
To say something like that, betternot maybe it's too bad you miss
or don't miss next time. Whatthe hell does that mean, you absolute
fat ass? What does that mean? You're on stage, people of both
(10:11):
sides of the aisle were entertained byyou, and you decide to turn on
like half your audience. Not onlythat, but you decide to contribute to
the very problem that we're dealing with. Let me remind everybody, the bullets
have only been flying one way forall to talk about both sides. I
mean, how many times we haveto see Democrats try to kill Republicans,
a number of them on a ballfield, burning down their damn cities,
(10:33):
burning down their businesses, beating peoplein the street. How many times have
we got to see this? Thishas only been coming one way, guys,
And it's only been coming one waybecause people on the right have restraint
and they have a little bit moresense, and I guess we care a
little bit more about our fellow man. Even if you're a dumb, fat
ass like Kyle Gas and you decideto go out and show your whole albatross
(10:56):
to the whole audience like that,I'm so tired of this. And then
they go, oh, will weapologize dust off hands? Oh, I
guess that's that. No, it'snot, that's not it. I'm so
tired of it. I'm so tiredof that rinse and repeat formula from the
left says something stupid offers a disingenuouspolicy. Dust off hands don't carry back
(11:16):
to business. No, I'm donewith it. There's a president almost got
killed. I'm tired of people thinkingthat, you know, we're all Nazis
just because we disagree with you onTexas. The hell's wrong with you?
People grow up so stupid. Welive in an idiocracy and it's infected every
(11:37):
single aspect of life. And thisis why I get why some people are
worried about where the Republican Party's goingwith us. Look, i'm gonna tell
you, with all the talk aboutthe Amber Rose stuff, and I was
actually more nervous about the Teamster guyspeaking than anything else. I mean,
I don't know if you heard someof the stuff he was saying. It
seemed a little big government to me, that Sean O'Brien guy. But I
(12:01):
think again, the RNC has aresponsibility to be very clear to people if
it is doing something that is aboutbuilding coalitions, or if it's something about
the party base, because Conservatives andRepublicans aren't the same thing. Coalitions and
parties aren't the same thing. Andif the right wants to be able to
compete, the right has to buildcoalitions. And that sometimes means that you're
(12:22):
going to be sharing your tent witha bald woman who's got her kids fit
names tattooed on her face. Andby the way, I find Amber Rose's
face tattoos less douchebaggy than the goofyarm band tats of some of these,
like you know, moral preening, like Red Pilbras on the right. I
(12:43):
gotta, I gotta be honest withyou about it. I but do I
think that she's representative of the RepublicanParty. No, I don't, And
I don't think that it's wrong togatekeep for the principles of the Republican Party
because it's the republic Party. Butto build a coalition that means the Republican
Party is going to have to findalliances with people who maybe don't agree with
(13:09):
it on every single issue. Again, the Reagan rule, my eighty percent
friend is not my twenty percent enemy. And if you want to win.
If you want to beat the Democratmachine, you have to do that.
Now. Again, I think it'son fault of the RNC for not saying
we need to focus on coalition buildingand to that extent here is amber Rose.
(13:31):
I think that would have been appropriateto do before she came out on
stage. That wasn't done because thenpeople are thinking, well, this means
that she's representative of the Republican Party. And I completely think that that is
a justifiable concern that some people have, given that that clarification was not made
by the RNC. But at thesame time, again, you're going to
have to coalition build, guys. You are going to have to coalition build.
(13:54):
It is a requirement. And you'realso going to have to realize for
the people who are upset with JadeVance, you're never going to have complete
perfection. You're not going to haveperfection on political candidates. You're not going
to ever get a complete one hundredpercent a candidate that agrees with you.
(14:16):
I don't even agree with my husbandon one hundred percent of the things,
much less Holy go agree with apolitician on the issue. But look,
winners win because they can adapt andthey can reconfigure their strategy. That's what
you've got to realize. And somepeople insist that accepting anything less than perfection
is selling out. I got tobe honest with you, and that take
(14:37):
kind of ticks me off because thatargument itself is a sellout. That argument.
What's worse actually about that argument isit's a progressive style emotional blackmail straw
man, and you're It's an argumentthat presupposes that adapting your strategy is the
same thing as abandoning principle, whenthe strategy is all about making the principle
(15:00):
more attainable and different means. Isn'ta sacrifice of the end, and it's
not an adoption of those means. It's not a change of principle. It's
not anything. I mean, you'renot going to score a touchdown unless you
can move the ball, however incrementallydown the field and refusing to play until
(15:22):
the field is clear, Well, that's a surrender. The rights got to
learn how to build coalitions. Nobodygets the fairy tale ending that they want,
guys, because this is real life. It is real life. It
is not a fantasy land. Theperfect candidate does not exist, does not
exist. The perfectly run campaign doesn'texist. I don't know if maybe you
(15:45):
know, These perfectly curated social mediaphoto kiosks on Instagram and Facebook make everything
think that everything else has got tobe just as airbrushed and perfect looking as
that, including our politics. Andif you don't understand that it can't be,
you are going to forever be disappointed. I mean, what is your
alternative? What is the alternative?I mean, the people who just want
(16:07):
to bitch and mom without offering asingle practical solution are quite bluntly obstacles into
the path of victory. Might beharsh to say, but it's true.
The objective is winning, guys, because the alternative, what is the alternative?
Allowing Democrats to continue driving this countryinto hell? That's the alternative.
Do you want sky high taxes? You want seven dollars tubs of butter?
(16:33):
You want runaway inflation? Do youwant endless wars, lawlessness and disorder?
I mean, look around, it'snot an exaggeration. Choice is yours.
I'm not going to tell you whatto do. I'm going to tell you
to think before you do it,though, I mean, it would be
a real shame, a real shameif we missed the last off ramp on
(16:56):
the road to Marxism because people wereholding out for non existent perfection. No
one is ever going to be goodenough, guys. No candidate is ever
going to be good enough, Nocampaign is ever going to be good enough.
But maybe, just maybe they mightbe useful enough in saving the country
(17:23):
from certain destruction. Adapt strategies,be practical, and push forward. Our
partners over at Celtech, American born, American made company. George Kelgren immigrated
to the United States and conceived thisawesome company in Florida. And I love
(17:45):
cal Tech. I love Celtech becausethey're like minded. I love it because
they're a great American success story. And I also love it because they make
really awesome firearms that are very veryinnovative. And that's what Caltech does.
They have three hundred American staff,a lot of the military veterans, and
they dedicate themselves to making these verydistinctive firearms. And they I mean,
they've been creating pistols and rifles andshotguns, accessories and gear for years now
(18:10):
and they continue this mission of gamechanging innovation of performance. We've been talking
about this for a good year now. The sub two Kgen three. That's
the one they came out with lastyear. It's light, foldable effective.
Uh. This is uh, it'sa it's an awesome, awesome firearm.
Gen three. I have the Gentwo version, the Gen three. It's
a a whole the whole thing. It's a carbone folds in half and uh.
You don't have to detach your opticsto fold the Gen three in half.
(18:33):
And it just quickly and as easilydeploys as well. You have light
and action for easy racking inmbidextrous bolthold open uh and quality made right here
in the US of A. Seeeverything Caltech has to offer at kel tech
weapons dot com. Follow them onsocial media. That's kel tech Weapons dot
com. K e l t ecWeapons dot com. Tell them that Dana
sent you and now all of thenews you would probably miss. It's time
(18:56):
for Dana's Quick five. So inLas Vegas, people are cooking eggs on
the sidewalk. That's not unusual forVegas though, really, I mean every
now and then. They don't thinkit like these heat sizzles, I don't
know what you would call them, recker hot temperatures. They said that the
Vegas Valley, the Vegas Strip isnobody's out on the Vegas Strip because they
said it was like one hundred andfifty degrees one day. Well, it
(19:18):
is the desert, so that's notunusual, are you do you think it's
unusual, Cane, I think it'spretty hot. I think yeah, but
in twenty desert, I think that'sa record breaking the one hundred and twenty,
one hundred and twenty. Anything northof one hundred and twenty certainly would
be breaking records. Yeah, wellobviously, I mean I think so.
But it is the desert, youknow. I mean, every now and
then you get hot periods, coolsummers. And Philly International Airport in the
(19:41):
middle of July they had snow reportedby Channel twenty nine Fox. They said
that because you always hear the jokeabout Christmas in July. Okay, well,
don't take it seriously. Ninety fourdegrees elsewhere, They said, a
record daily snowfall was reported at theirairport, and it was small hail,
which apparently counts as a trace sosnow the National Weather Services, So it's
(20:03):
not like snow. It's just youknow, it's small hail. And they
said it's rare, but not unusual. To me, I feel like,
that's a stretch to say that that'ssnow. You guys did that for clicks?
Stop it, stop it. Bidenis going to be proposing rent control.
We'll discuss this coming up. He'sproposing eliminating tax breaks for landlords who
raise the rent more than five percent. But is Joe Marx here, is
(20:29):
he going to like, I don'tknow, maybe reduce taxes on the property
owners or how about this and justthe thought maybe you could just reduce taxes
over all for struggling families and maybeget a better monetary and economic policy overall.
Right. Apple's releasing a new operatingsystem for iPhones again. It's the
iOS. It's eighteen iOS eighteen. It's a beta version of the software that's
(20:52):
going to launch along the new iPhonesthis fall, and it's going to they're
testing features in that before they officiallylaunched. It's not open to the public.
It's still beta, but they saidthat people will be able to try
it out later this summer, aheadof the new phone releases and all of
that stuff. Don't look for anyrate cuts from the Feds until inflation hits
two percent. That's what Jerome Powellhas said. He said that that Central
(21:15):
Bank is looking for greater confidence thatinflation is going to return to the two
percent level. We have more tocoms stick with us. You know,
at least strippers go out and workfor their money. Good grief, you
know, speaking of strippers, canwe talk about the I'm so tired.
I've just been watching everybody argue aboutthis. So amber Rose spoke at the
(21:40):
r NC last night. Right, amber Rose, who is like she says
she's an atheist, She's she's not. I don't think she's. She hasn't
been a porn star, but she'sbeen a stripper. She was with Kanye
I think for a while. Idon't know. I don't really you know,
I'm not really big on her career. Let's just put it that way,
right. I don't know. She'sI don't know what the hell she
(22:00):
does anymore. I don't know.But she spoke at the r n c
UH last night, and a lotof I've seen a lot of people up
in arms about all of this.Lots of people and everyone's fighting over it.
Some people are saying that it's agreat representation to get people who are
not traditional Republicans. Make it feelas though there's someone who might kind of,
(22:22):
you know, give voice to someof the stuff that they're thinking there.
You know, I've seen all kindsof stuff people talking about. You
got to have a big ten etcetera, et cetera, et cetera.
And I get it, you know, I've seen what I've seen, what
everybody's been saying about it. Igot And I also understand the concern that
people have about the platform of ther n C, which I didn't see
(22:45):
any think about guns in there, and that was my big thing. I
was like, where are the gunsat RNC? Where's that at? Like
I didn't see that in your damnlittle booklet platform. But you guys have
to realize that I hate everyone. And when I say that, I hate
everyone, that includes all Like Ihate parties, I hate bureaucrats, I
hate party bureaucrats, bureaucrat parties.I don't you know whatever I can And
(23:08):
people are saying, this is just, you know, an example of the
GOP drifting left. And you know, she had praised Satanism before, and
we've got the audio of it ofbeing Let me play this first because I
want to give this is what someof the people criticizing are citing when they
say that they have a problem withher speaking at the RNC just so you
(23:30):
can have like an idea, Iwant to be fair. And then I'm
gonna play her sound bite. Thisis audio SoundBite four. Yeah, but
you're not. No, I'm aI'm an atheist for sure, not a
Satanist. I'm not a Satanist.And there's a distinction. Satanists are just
they're atheists as well, but they'rejust more political. Okay, they have
like a politic it's actually a veryrational, logical religion. They help a
(23:56):
lot of people, to a lotof women to get abortions. I don't
agree with any of those. Imean, I think it's I think Satanists
want to put themselves apart from God, and they all they act like it's
you know, worship in nature ofabout whatever. Everybody wants to be so
edgy. This is what she saidlast night audio some by three when she
took the stage at the r nC. Listen, I am up here
telling you this. I'm no politician, and I don't want to be,
(24:18):
but I do care about the truth. And the truth is that the media
has lied to us about Donald Trump. I know this because for a long
time, I believe those lies.So I'm here to set the record straight.
(24:41):
So as you can imagine, thereare people who are very upset.
They're they're upset over the selection advance. Is Trump's VP there, they were
upset that. I was actually moreupset about the teams, the teamster thing,
that guy they're talking about some biggovernment popula Like, Populism is not
a platform and it's not a principle. Populism is a way of delivering message.
You don't have the conservatives and populists. That's not a thing. Populism
(25:03):
is a way to deliver a message. And conservatives and Republicans are not the
same thing. They're two totally entirelydifferent things. And then even with Republicans,
you have maga Republicans and then justthe regular Republicans. So there's all
these different breakdowns of this. I'mgonna tell you something. There's also the
difference between coalitions and parties. Nowmy question on this is it's the r
(25:26):
n C. So they're the party'sevent, and this is the base.
This is your your most condensed, down, distilled down base, right,
And I think that some people areconfusing coalitions and parties. The right does
have to learn how to coalition buildif it wants to continue to exist.
(25:48):
And it's a weird thing to saywhen you have a bench of talent multi
rows deep, but the Republican Partyhas been abysmal in figuring out how to
maximize that and for its fullest advantage. But never more so than now.
Conservatives and Republicans are two different things, and we have to learn how to
(26:10):
marshal everybody together to be able toassemble a majority. And I think that's
what some of this falls under. If I think the RNC aired in that
if it wanted to give an exampleof coalition building, they needed to make
that clear with certain speakers. Becausethe people that I have seen who have
been the most vocal in criticism aboutallowing someone who's been pro abortion and you
(26:37):
know, uh, you know, the literally held slut walks and all that
stuff, is they think that thatis supposed to be representative of the Republican
Party base. And I think it'sthe rnc's attempt. And I'm not saying
I agree with it. I'm justgiving you my analysis of it. I
think it's the rnc's attempt to colitionbuild. But they're not clear in their
(27:03):
intention on that, and the lackof clarity and intention has not resulted in
this finger pointing, slat fighting messthat is really bubbling up on social media.
I completely understand everybody's criticisms of it. I think it's kind of weird
to have somebody If the RNC wasgoing to be like, yeah, no,
we had her because we love slutwalks, Now, that's kind of
weird, right, because like onthe right we've made fun of that,
right, Or if the RNC islike, yeah, you know, we
(27:26):
decided to have her because we're allpro abortion. Now, I think a
lot of people in the base wouldjustifiably have they legitimate grievances about that.
If it's about coalition building, that'sdifferent. And that's the rnc's problem in
not messaging that clearly enough for everyone. You have to be clear with this.
I tend to apply Reagan's eighty twentyrole. My eighty percent friend is
(27:49):
not my twenty percent enemy, andI think never more than never more than
now, we've really got to applythat going forward, and we're going to
talk more about this because I usedto be one of these holdouts for you
know, political perfection and purism oneverything. And I used to argue about
this all the time with my latefriend Andrew Breitbart. Before he gave his
SEAPAC twenty twelve address on att Romney, he extorted me, He's like,
(28:11):
you listen to my address here, because we had just got into a huge
debate about it on a radio program, and he went out on stage and
gave that speech. Perfection isn't strategy. It is a surrender that is staked
on fantasy. And I'm going totalk more about that because principles do win,
but you also have to be aboutyou have to also have to be
strategic in making and advancing towards thoseprinciples. Thanks for tuning in to today's
