(00:01):
Valentine in the Morning presents the showthe Show Valentine over Time. Well,
well, well here we are again, just about thirty seconds ago. We
decided to bring this podcast back becauseit's it's been a couple of weeks,
we've had something, we've done it. Mister, I'm in charge of the
(00:22):
podcast. Well, it just itdoesn't feel the same without our core players.
Sometimes Valentine was in Connecticut and thensometimes we didn't spend months, didn't
we say? Then we started thislike if somebody had to go, it's
okay, the other people will doit. Yeah, that's how it was.
Yeah, yeah, but what iflike we were without you for a
week or without Jill for a week. It just it doesn't feel for two
(00:42):
days because you're only doing it onTuesday and Thursday, right, but a
week has gone by a week,it's only Tuesday and Thursday. It just
isn't the same without you. Guys, just say you forgot. I haven't
forgot. What do you want tobe me this whole time? Are you
just like phoning it in? AndAaron, why haven't we done a podcast?
Give us an answer? Should weput Aaron in charge of the podcast?
(01:03):
You really can't do it. Aaron'salways down. I will say,
I can't wrangle you animals to dothis. Thank you, thank you,
thank you. You are speaking forthe masses here. But we're doing it
again today. I kind of wantedto know, because this is a little
bit of a behind the scenes podcast, is it cool to say we're going
on vacation soon? I'd say so. I think it's okay to say.
(01:25):
Listen. I'm not in charge ofpodcasts, but I'd like to say I'm
not going on vacatione. I'll bein a soccer camp at Duke University.
Then we'll be traveling to Wake ForestUniversity for a soccer camp. So I'll
be sitting out the side of afield watching my kid kick a ball.
That's kind of what I was goingfor. We won't say when this potential
vacation is, but we're all goingsomewhere sometime soon. And I kind of
(01:45):
want to know what your plans arefor this undisclosed time that we're going to
be away from the show. Well, you've heard my plans from my vacation.
Yeah, so it's Duke University,Duke. Where is Duke East Coast?
Okay? Yeah? And how doesColin, get in there. You
just paid a go to this camp. There's like one he was invited to
and one. I think we're justsigned up for something of that. So
like Duke or Wake Forest if youget which one reached out and asked me
(02:07):
to come to this ID camp. That's pretty sweet, which a lot of
kids do those things, but thisis across the country, so we're gonna
fly there and see how it goes. I feel like a lot of your
time off recently have just been liketaking care of things. Yeah, dude,
I am so. I haven't hada vacation in years. Yeah,
the ocase, I'm just swept upwith taking care of things, fixing things,
trying to keep my head above watertype stuff. Yeah. Is there
(02:29):
anything you're excited for when you're headedover there? Is there anything you're doing
for you? Hearing the podcast podcast? Okay? That you guys will do
It will just be me because I'mgonna be the only one here that's right,
studio, my own little podcast. You have any fun travel planes?
I don't know. No. Iwill be going to Hawaii for my wedding.
Yeah, that's my summer vacation. You know, some of my favorite
(02:51):
radio memories though, are like doingovernight So it's just myself really yeah,
because it was just you. Iget that, just you all alone get
the make or breaking on yourself. You have to rely on anybody else,
and then you got to talk toyou especially do in Overnight's some weirdos,
yeah, and they're up and eureup, but it's the middle of the
night. There's no one in thebuilding to bother you. Overnight's is great.
I remember when I was doing myinternship here at I Heart, we
(03:13):
did one rotation with Chuck Dizzel andDJ Head on Real ninety two three,
our hip hop station, And thisrotation that we did with them was from
midnight to three am on like aFriday night, and all they would do
is just stay up and just talkto people who are getting out of the
bars, getting out of the cluband themselves. I don't I don't know
about Chuck Dells and Djhead. Theyworked real hard, but like the people
(03:36):
who were calling in, they werejust on cloud nine. It was just
happy. It was an incredible intowitness. Yeah on something definitely, Brian,
You're taking any time going anywhere cool. Yeah, we had a whole
thing planned then my wife has vacationremorse. So we were gonna go to
Pismo Beach. Are you okay withthat? I accidentally kicked over a bag
(03:58):
under Jaill's desk. I don't knowyou can hear let's smooth past? What
is it? A bag of alistener came by my house and brought Jill
some gifts. Oh yeah, youguys are you guys are like hoarders over
there. Anyway, my wife justdecided last night we're not going to Pismo
Beach. We're going to the cowshNo. No, she's not saving the
cash. We're going to the coastof Santa Barbara. There's these little cabins
(04:21):
there. But that's like, whatwhat's the difference between Santa Barbara and Pismo
Beach aside from like two aunties. She looked up the amount of bacteria in
the beach at Pismo Beach and wasand said, also, there's like crime
in that area. I don't know, Santa Barbara's very clean crime. She
checked the waters of Santa Barbara upthere. I don't have to get where
(04:45):
Opra goes. That's where we'll be. There's a hotel up there in Santa
Barbara, and I can't say itfor legal purposes. But and I know
this for a fact because a persontold me right themselves. There's a lady
that told me this. This hotel, very fancy, very fancy hotel,
very high priced. Apparently. Idon't know if it still goes on,
(05:06):
probably not right, but this isback in the day. She told a
story that she got an ending ofhappiness when she got a massage there.
Oh you don't hear that often? No, No, definitely not. How
does it even come up? Like, did she ask for it? I
(05:27):
think no, I don't think it'son the menu. I think, honestly,
what happened to I'm being totally clear. I think the person started venturing
somewhere and according to her judge byher response, and she was I think
she was single all the time. She apparently did never problem with it.
Oh you do that for girls.I bet or it gets out or gets
(05:49):
out there. Why you want tosay some more about that. Let's bring
in Aaron, dude. You gotany plans this summer? You're going anywhere?
Cool? Any trips you're looking forwardto. No, while y'all are
on vacation, I'll be here justmaking sure everything stays on there. That's
fine. In October, I'm takingsome time nice, y'all have to figure
(06:09):
out what you're gonna do without me, then taking just a couple of days
oko for you. Thank you?Going anywhere cool for October? Anything you
want to share yet or still undecided. I'm going to San Francisco to see
some friends. I used to liveup there, okay, and we do
a little shining dig every October.Very nice. So I'm taking like a
Thursday and a Friday, then I'lltake them Monday. So real quick.
Are you from Bay Area? No? I have some family that's from there,
(06:31):
okay, because I see all theDodgers. The Dodger had the Dodger
land from the Bay Area with Dodgers. Yeah, con don't wear that up
there, ud No. When Idid live there, I did wear giants
gear just to still blending, justto blend. I miss it up there.
It's a nice time. Is gorgeousup there. The weather is a
lot cooler, and I mean thecity's a little nuts right now, but
(06:54):
getting to see friends and family isalways a good time. Sorry, good,
I'm looking forward to it, Laura. What's up, dude? I
am venturing to the land Dana dahome. We're going home to Australia.
When's the last time you went home? A year ago? Wow? This
is the longest I've ever been apartfrom my sister. I got to see
my parents, but I have notseen friends, family, anything like that.
(07:15):
Excited to go home. I amso excited. And I'm bringing my
boyfriend with me. He gets tomeet my family. Has he been to
Australia never in his life? Wow? So what are you going to take
him to? Do? Everything?John? Like? We my itinery already
full. We have like one sparehour. Seriously, Like the problem is
when you tell people you're coming home? Oh yeah, I bet no good?
(07:36):
What are you most excited? Toshow him where I grew up,
Like my hometown because my parents don'tlive there anymore. So we went to
a special little trip and I'm goingto take him to the houses I grew
up in and stuff like that. Will he see a kangaroo? Oh yeah,
yeah, he might hold a kowalaif he wants snake. Yeah,
(07:56):
absolutely all of the above. Butit is winter, so they're all in
hibernation. Oh why haven't we donethis podcast more often? I'm fascinated by
this stuff. Right here, youknow, will he see a spider?
Will see a very big nervous Oneof the things that deters me from Australia's
I don't want to see that manyspiders or snakes they're popping there. Has
(08:18):
he met your parents? Are for? Are you nervous about that? Not
a one bit? Are you nervousabout your father talking to him about your
relationship and the future of your relationshipnext Tuesday in time? We're so excited.
They FaceTime all the time. Myparents, they've had that connection,
(08:41):
but man, that first physical connectionis something different, isn't it? And
it'll be very emotional, be alot of tears and sorry? How tall?
Are your parents a bit taller thanme? Yeah? So we're all
around the same You're around the sameheight, which is good because that's kind
of a funny little thing when youmeet somebody at FaceTime and then you meet
them for the first time and somebodyturns out to be a foot taller than
you were some or whatever. It'sjust weird, you know. Interesting.
(09:03):
Where are you going? I amgonna be where Jill's getting married a week
before she's there set in the stageworking on stuff. Yeah, me and
me and my girlfriend just rented avan and we're gonna stay in a van
for a week in Hawaii. Youthe island gonna smell so bad? Yeah?
Yeah, then she does not havea shower. Does she smell?
(09:26):
What we're gonna find out? Yeah, like, have you guys smelled each
other's smell? Yeah, to gethome from softball games or she plays volleyball
games. So she's athletic and smelly. Yeah yeah, yeah, definitely.
So yeah, its gonna be interesting. You keep seeing those like videos of
van life. It looks so fun, but I don't know if I could
ever do it. So this isgonna be a good trial run. Where
(09:46):
would you guys shower? There arepublic showers you can use, and we're
staying on a couple of camp sitesthat have showers as well. Yeah,
so you can't shower, you willshower, Yeah, we will shower.
It's just the whole idea of theAnd where are you going to the bathroom?
Your public public bathrooms? Oh God, to find them along the way
the whole time. And how manydays are there? We're there five days,
(10:09):
five days, so you've probably getat least four public bathroom poopies.
Yeah, we've been mapping them out. You've been making our own map of
right the shower. You could listenif you look cute enough. The two
of you don't look like van life. You can walk into fancy hotels and
use our restroom probably yeah. Oryou walk into like hotel and go where's
the bar at and meet some folksat the bar. Yeah, and they
(10:30):
go off and use their restrooms andstuff, even walk down and use their
pool showers. What island who?So you can go check out my vendors
for me. I'm literally where you'regetting married and we're leaving three days before
you get there. Check out herrestrooms. Yeah, yeah, I'll tell
