Speaker 2 (00:15):
One of four. Three, My fam it is Valentine in
the Morning. Good morning, Jill, how are you?

Speaker 5 (00:19):
Good morning. I'm feeling excited this morning. I'm getting on
a plane later and going to visit my mother in
law with my husband.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Oh that's great. Yeah, my kid's on a plane tomorrow.
He's got a service trip that he's going on with
the school. So that's kind of cool. Get it last
year too, and you're not going No, it's just him. Wow,
I know, I'm such a helicopter parent.

Speaker 5 (00:38):
How long is he going to be gone? This time?

Speaker 2 (00:40):
It's like a week. Nice, it's like a week last
time as well.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
How long are you going to be gone? Jill.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
I'll be back Tuesday.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Just making sure.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
How are you off Monday?

Speaker 5 (00:48):
We're all off Monday.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
I was coming in. Yeah, me and Falc come in
the presidents of the United States of America. But I
do a whole segment about each president coming. So that's right.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
We play the trumpet.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
We talk about George Washington, and we talked about John Adams.
We move on to Thomas Jefferson, We move on to
John Quincy Adams, We move on to johns James Madison.
Then we move on to James Monroe.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
New president every few two minutes.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
It's great.

Speaker 5 (01:10):
Well, I will not be here you won't you guys
enjoy that presidentialcast.

Speaker 6 (01:15):
Wow?

Speaker 5 (01:16):
Yeah, that's crazy Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
All right, we'll save some of the info for you.
We get off with president number six, so we'll leave
off John. I don't, buddy, I.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Feel pretty good, man, feeling pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
God, that hair is getting wacky.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
It is getting wacky, but I'm kind of liking it.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
John's let his hair grow out.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
This is a good length right here.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Yeah, how do you maintain that? Though?

Speaker 7 (01:40):
I don't, as you can see, kind of I'm just
letting it go. I got to trim up in the
back right, which was really nice. And I really don't
know what the end goal is. Like I kind of
like a word is now it's a little bit long.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Mullet see.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
I just the word mullet scares me.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
But this miss d I said, mullet over. You know,
think about it. You know, mullet over.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
I'll let it mullet for a few days.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
I think mullet would be good.

Speaker 7 (02:04):
Now the mullet is back though they called it the
modern mullet. It's one of the biggest hairstyles for men
right now. But the word scares me mullet because I
start thinking of like the eighties mullet.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
I'm like, I don't want that. But today's modern mullet
is not that.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Okay, modern man, modern man, the year of the modern man,
modern mullets. How are you, Bri, I'm good.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
I have something that's a big deal for me. And
we've talked about on the show a little bit. But
I bought Beyonce tickets.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
You did good, Brian did the work.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
As bad as like they were the other time.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
So sometimes you just got to wait.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Who did you sell? Yes, yes, there was a little
offer up the thing.

Speaker 8 (02:45):
Wow, I'm glad you.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
Did because you were really looking forward to this tour
and you got to splurge sometimes a.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Little credit card. You can you resell them. If I
got you tickets, you got me tickets? No, yes, I can,
because of yourself.

Speaker 8 (03:03):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
I was asking John Peek for tickets for you. But
I don't know, have to be better seats right now? Now
you did?

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Yeah, well, let's go every night of the dour No, well,
that's very sweet of you. If he comes through you
and I are going that night. No, no, no, I'm
not going at all. It would change your life.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
It's too loud.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
It's too loud.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Do I fell asleep at Mariah Carrey councert on and
I we do a morning show. I'm very sleepy. I
get it, I get you know, but this would be different.
You could not sleep. I hurt my hips at John Mayer.

Speaker 5 (03:34):
Oh imagine what he's gonna hurt.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Can you imagine what I had?

Speaker 9 (03:37):
Heard it?

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Beyonce? I was a cowboy Carter though I was swaying
the entire time. John Mayer was doing his set, and
it's like, my hips are killing me. The next day, Can.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
I put my name down if your wife gets sick,
then you'll take me.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Yes, Yes, you're next in line. He's next in line
after your wife.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Sorry, we're we're kind of a thle.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
One four three, my fabi. It is Vale all the
time in the morning. Good morning, Hope you're doing okay
with all the rain that we've gotten over the past
twenty four hours. I know we did have some mud
slides in certain areas, so hope that wherever you are,
you're safe as you start your morning. Some rain still
coming down this morning, that shoul dissipate this afternoon and
sky should begin to clear up throughout the weekend and everything.
We're happy with that. What else we got we got,

(04:19):
uh oh, we got the German guy on today, right, yes,
the German guy. Tell me, gad, this is no this
guy like you're not gonna know his name, right, But
he did Demi Levado's Skyscraper. He did Big Girls Don't
Cry with Fergie. I mean, he did all of Me
with John Legend. He has done hit after hit after
hit after hitting. He has a new song wants to

(04:40):
play today. But my god, that's a pretty intense, intense thing.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
You know, and songs that really resonate with people. A
lot of heartbreak in these songs. But like if I
were a Boy by Beyonce, he did as well, like
I'm so excited to meet this guy.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Mm hmmmm hmm. It's got a or he's got a
uh anti Valentine and song though specifically about you.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
I think we need some of those it's not me.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
That's the way I read it. It's the anti Valentine's Day.
It's anti Valentine's Day that's coming up. It's Valentine in
the morning. This is one of four to three ifm
as you start your day and you decide to listen
to our show, thanks for doing that. If you're listening
on the free iHeartRadio app, the new and improved Diheart
Radio app, you can make us your number one preset too.
It's not hard to do. Make the station your number

(05:25):
one pre set. And then it's also a scan feature,
which I think is fascinating. Now, maybe you've grown up
here your entire life, maybe you're a transplant. But the
scan feature allows you to like type in Uncasville, Connecticut,
where I grew up, and scan the stations in that area.
Isn't that amazing? That's what's on that I heard radio app.
Of course, we want you to listen to us, make

(05:46):
us the number one pre set, and if you want
to send us a voice note and say hello to
us in the studio, can do that too. There's a
little icon, a micron icon the upright hand corner. Click
that and send us a voice note directly. To the studio.

Speaker 10 (05:58):
Listen anywhere with the free radio app one four to three.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
One of four to three. My family, it is Valentine
in the morning. We have an update. This is a
lounge Fly update, right, Hill.

Speaker 5 (06:14):
I meant for this to be just a little, short,
little tidbit, but I love lounge Fly backpacks.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
It seems like people are excited about this. Really this
talk back, Bobby, I'm gathered with the boys from the fraternity.
We just heard about the lounge Fly collection.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
Fly God, lounge Fly collection.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
It's so good. Yeah, they want to hear about the
lounge Fly backpack collection that you have.

Speaker 5 (06:37):
I was excited because Brian came over to the house.
He was the first person from the show to come
to my new home with my husband, and he got
to see the lounge Fly collection in person.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
It's a room, right, It's in whole room. It's the
whole room.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
She took over the entire room. There's a tiny, tiny
section of just stuff. It's comical. It's seriously like half
an in of like some little pain of his little
pin in one baseball.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Is all hers, right, They're the only places that they
could go to be on display.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Oh god, there's so much about that house. I got
a hold tour. It's good, gorgeous. I looked at it.
If you guys want the address, DM me.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
No. Her husband, Jeff like did all this stuff himself.
Like he like is, tore down rooms and built stuff.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
The tore down rooms.

Speaker 5 (07:25):
There, well, the previous owners. What previous owners had load bearing? No,
they had like this weird kind of cabinet thing in
one of like they turned a bedroom into a closet, okay,
And so they had these cabinets in there, but you
had to kind of like squeeze around to get through
to go to the bathroom. So Jeff took out the

(07:47):
that cabinet space and then made it like one big room. Okay, Brian,
did you have a favorite lounge fly that you saw?

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (07:53):
God, tinker Bell, tinkerbells.

Speaker 7 (07:56):
Jill is like the guy that moves in and has
like shelves of action figures, you know, and his girlfriend
says it's time to get rid of those, and he
just doesn't want to.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
That's you with Lee's lounge.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
Flybacks that It's true. And when I brought them all
to the house, I had an idea of like doing
it like how I had it at my house was
just like command strips and they're all displayed on a wall. Okay,
I thought we could do that, so I mentioned that
to my husband and his reaction was like, oh, because
it's a craftsman style house, so there's like a bunch
of dark wood and the lounge flights don't really go
with the motif of the house. But in a guest room,

(08:25):
the old owners were really big crafters, so there's all
kinds of shelves for like scrap booking and all kinds
of different craft items. So I use those shelves to
display the backpacks on there, and I couldn't fit all
of them on there, so I had to pick my favorites.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
There's more, Yeah, there's more closet. I knows place to
display those lounge fly backpacks where No, I mean, you
could put so many in there. It's a place called
public story.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
No, I like to look at them.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
So your favorite is Tinkermell Oh totally, I love Tink. Yeah,
it was gorgeous. So it's a backpack.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
Yeah, they're like little mini backpacks, are they They're small,
They're smaller. It's not like a big Disney for that, right.
They have all kinds of different brands, but I collect
Disney Lounge Fly.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Oh wow, what would I be into? Lounge Fly?

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Star Wars really?

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (09:14):
You like a Star Wars backpack or two?

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Yeah? Can I order that for Valentine's Day today?

Speaker 5 (09:20):
Just take one a jail give you don't have any
Star Wars on?

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Give me anything, give me tickerbell.

Speaker 5 (09:27):
I'm trying to think of which one I could part with.
I'm so sorry. I can't part with any You.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Wouldn't do that for your best guy, your best straight
guy friend. She only has like five to six hundred.
I part with one that saved me on Valentine's Day.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
I have they've all been used, They've.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
All she will know they haven't been used. You're putting
them up on a pedestal that.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
I used every single one.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
You've used six hundred backpacks. I have twenty eight, John,
don't you mean twenty seven?

Speaker 4 (09:58):
No?

Speaker 5 (09:59):
I can't, I can't. Okay, Sorry, anyway, I hope those
those guys enjoyed Lounge Fly talk.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Oh yeah, I forgot about that, just like hours ago.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
Didn't.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
All right, it's Valentine in the morning. Guys want to
reach out three one O four three or you can
call us eight sixty six five four four. Ifm anybody
else collecting lounge flies, text Valentine in the Morning at
three one oh four to three one A four three,
My fam, it is Valentine in the morning.

Speaker 9 (10:27):
Hey Brandon, Yes, hello, good morning.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Well it's doing bud.

Speaker 11 (10:31):
Hey.

Speaker 9 (10:31):
I'm actually I just got up from a nap. But
I'm feeling pretty good. How about you?

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Yeah, feeling pretty good. Why are you napping?

Speaker 9 (10:40):
Well, So, I don't conventionally sleep because like seven eight
hours of doing nothing is kind of boring. So I
just I kind of take like intermittent naps, you know,
like an hour here, sometimes twenty minutes there, and so yeah,
so it kind of just you know, comes and goes
throughout the morning and the course of the day. How
old are you, Yeah, I'm actually forty two, So I'm

(11:02):
not some kid that's you know, just yeah, kind of slumming.
I'm you know, just working it in.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
No, no one was legend that. But you might have
figured out some secret to your life. You'm going to
biohacked yourself because I do not turn away from seven
to eight hours of sleep.

Speaker 9 (11:16):
I know, And I also don't I'm not married I'm single,
I don't have any kids, so that that also adds
to it.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
So that checks out because most people be freaked out
by some dude that slept an hour and then got
up and walked around all night. Yeah, that ship is.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Just because you said it was just boring.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (11:32):
Yeah, Like, as a guy with a lot of ADHD
going on, I get bored very easily.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
I've never once thought sleep was born.

Speaker 5 (11:40):
Is that what you like about being single is the
unlimited naps.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (11:43):
By the time I was in a relationship, she she would,
you know, bother me constantly, so I never knew when
I had to be on and ready for her or not.

Speaker 5 (11:53):
Did you ever make her dinner? What did you guys do?

Speaker 1 (11:55):
No?

Speaker 9 (11:56):
Because that kind of weighs me down. So I just like,
you know, you know, I'll have some like oyster crackers
or you know, some fruit et cetera, some you know,
dry cereal, and then yeah, just just keep it going.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Yeah oyster cracker, Brandon, he's your guy. Gotta figure out
biohacking the life here, you know.

Speaker 9 (12:14):
Yeah, and feel free to pass on anyone who wants
to try it. Keep it going. Hopefully I'll see you
out there all right, We'll wait for the book excellent.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
And let me know if it's some paperback too. Oh
al wait, all right, appreciate you, Brandon, thanks a lot.

Speaker 8 (12:29):
It's the Backstreet Boys.

If I Were a Boy by Beyonce, Skyscraper Demi Lovato.
He's coming up next. We've got happy news. We've got
love songs on my buckle.

Speaker 10 (13:01):

Speaker 8 (13:38):
If I were a boy, understand.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
This song. I did not know that you were a
part of this song. Demi Lovato skyscrap you.

Speaker 13 (13:52):
Can si jevything I.

Speaker 8 (13:55):
Have, you can break your.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Holy cow? How are you amazing? Are you living in California? Yeah,
just around the corner here. Oh really, yes, yes, And
this is your first time come up by the studio.
I know it's overdue. Yeah yeah, what's up with that?
What have you heard? You didn't like us? What's going on?

Speaker 14 (14:18):
No, it's actually a whole pivot in my career because
I was always behind the scenes. And long story short,
I was a judge two years ago in German Idol
and the contestants sang my songs and I was, oh
my god, the young people like my old songs, so
I started re recording them and re releasing them. We
started with Victoria Justice because Don't Cry. Kelly Clarkson loved
it and got us on her show, and then I

(14:39):
just went song by song, all my old hits re recorded,
passed the torch to new talent. Oh my gosh, and
I'm an artist now, which is so weird after being
in the studio.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
How does that for my life? I love it. It's a
different thing right now, being in front of the microphone
like this, I love it forefront. Yes, yes, I feel
like I've no you, you've earned it. Well, let's talk
about the song we're gonna play here in a couple
of seconds called Bad Valentine. Tell me about that.

Speaker 14 (15:04):
Yeah, imagine your very worst Valentine's Day, Like you're madly
in love, You get the fanciest restaurant, you come on time,
then seven o five Okay, she's parking probably seven oh
ten checking your phone? Seven Oh my god, why is
she not texting?

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Eight o'clock? Not happening? So and the song is her story.
Oh man, I feel like I've lived that before in
my life at one point.

Speaker 5 (15:30):
Have you been stood up before?

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (15:34):
Me too.

Speaker 14 (15:35):
Yeah, Yeah it's painful, But for her it's a f
you and it's yeah, well one time is my wife?

Speaker 2 (15:41):
She's just running late?

Speaker 5 (15:43):
Okay, Well but yeah, I still.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Wonder o'clock where's Yeah, what's going on?

Speaker 14 (15:48):
It takes those events sometimes to say the truth is, like,
just before marriage, people bail out, and Valentine's Day is
one of those proof your love moments where yeah, why
is your name?

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Valentine? That's my name? That's incredible, I got you bor
on Valentine's Day. No, I was upborn and that's my
last name, last name, first name. Wow. Wow, you're lucky.
That's such a great name. Well, this is why you're
on our show today too. This is the most appropriate
show for you to be on.

Speaker 14 (16:11):
Yes, though, all of Me is like the Valentine's song, right,
I know? And then Bad Valentine's the anti Valentine's song.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
We've got all on one uncovered. I love that you
committed to not going on Seacrest or Ellen or any
other show, only here because ours, because we're Valentine in
the Morning. So thanks for committing to that. Thank you
for having me. Yes, it's amazing, Host Terfia, this is
Bad Valentine. It is Valentine in the Morning. Did you
up all Valentine? Give you no reason why that voice?

(16:47):
Angelina Jordan, she sounds What does she sound like to you?

Speaker 5 (16:51):
Joe Amy Whitehouse?

Speaker 14 (16:53):
Yeah, little bit, little tinge and incredible artist. I met
her when she was sixteen years old, really yeah, and
she actually he won Norway's Got Talent at age eight
and did America's Got Talent age fourteen, right and age sixteen.
I recorded the song with her and it took two
more years for it to come out, and I was
I was really trying hard for the label to bring

(17:14):
it out and they didn't. So finally I started my
own label and we released it. Now, finally it's out,
and I'm so excited. I love this song so much.
I'm so happy because I started. My first record was
a vinyl, That's how old I am. And then the
CD of course, and then downloads, remember downloads I do.

(17:34):
And now it's all streaming, and now artists can do
their own thing, which I love.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
I love how you look directly at me when you
say your first records vinyl, because you're looking at my
grades thing.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
Okay, this guy, you know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Stepping old a trading.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
Made such a comeback.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Yes, did you hear cassettes from making a comeback?

Speaker 1 (17:53):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (17:54):
No, I kid you right.

Speaker 14 (17:55):
I don't miss I really don't miss cassettes. I remember
all these knots in the in the taple. No, but
then you had to take the tape down, you put
a pencil in there.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
They're really making a comeback.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
I heard this from kids. Kids told me at the
high school I went to and did that talk at
they go Hey, sir, cassettes are making comeback get them
you wait and see people are going to make mixtapes
with cassettes and walk around boom boxes on the shoulders.
So what's your plan after this? What do you want
to do now?

Speaker 14 (18:26):
I started a Piano Diaries project, which was first re
releasing my greatest hits like If I Were a Boy
was the song that Angelina Jordan sang, and that's when
we really connected and we said, okay, we need to
release Bad Valentine too, And now Bad Valentine's the first
single of my upcoming album that I'm working on as
Piano Diaries Originals, basically stripping down my songs to a

(18:47):
version that is just like a timeless piano with orchestration
and the vocal. I've done that to all my greatest
hits and all of me. We did with Selena Sharma
and in London and Big Girlstone with Vicaria Justice. You're
no Victoria Justice. Yeah, we're still working together. I love her.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
So peopler notice because we have an approach here, but
they're noticing a tinge of an accent. Yes, I've seen
it on the text line. There's just a tinge an
accent where were you born and raised? I was Danish.

Speaker 14 (19:16):
You had a Danish passport all my life until I
became American about ten years ago.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
And I was born in Munich, Germany. Wow, so you
speak fluent German. Germans my first language. Say hi to
people in German. Say a little bit in German again?

Speaker 14 (19:28):
Oh Man dots and points, shar my fle pretty document
Deutschia in America.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
Do you say Happy Valentine's Day?

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (19:37):
And then shranan Valentine's talk bunch. Wow, it's amazing, right,
and your English is flawless.

Speaker 14 (19:43):
I mean, songwriting is so much about conversation, right, and usually,
like when John Legends comes in or some artists, we
usually talk about their life and what moves them on
that day and what is unworthy in that conversation. I've
started a podcast now called Songs. You know, it's taking
off and it's weekly every Tuesday, and I'm talking with

(20:03):
songwriters who've written hit songs.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Songs we know. That's great about behind the scenes from
somebody that's behind the scenes yourself exactly, Yes, all right, Yeah.

Speaker 14 (20:11):
We had Josh Grobin, Justin Tranter who did a Good
Luck Babe, A lot of hit songwriters. They tell the
stories behind the behind the songs.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
We know.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
I'm going to be listening to that?

Speaker 2 (20:22):
Doesn't that so cool?

Speaker 5 (20:23):
That?

Speaker 4 (20:23):
Ah yay, that's very cool.

Speaker 14 (20:26):
And that's exactly like my songwriting. I just talked to
the artists about their lives and it's not always about music.
It's like we just had David Age letter and he
talked about coming out against the Mormon Church and as
gay after so many years and finally being himself and
just getting to that baseline of wow, I am me

(20:46):
took him years and years and years and going against
his parents and everybody he knew. And I only applaud
people if they come out and finally can be in
their own.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Skin contra and to open up about that. Wow. Yeah.

Speaker 14 (20:58):
So some of these podcasts they just go like full
on more like it should be people you know that
songs you know?

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Right? Okay, gotcha, Toby, thanks for coming in. Thank you
so much for having me coming back Sunday. Ye I
mean you're down the street you said, right, yes, yes,
I love it. Thank you very much, Toby Yad, thank
you so much.

Speaker 5 (21:17):
We can leave the Christmas lights up to January.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Love one of four three mi Fami. It is Valentine
in the morning. We're gonna do first sip here. We
do have new music Friday coming up. We're slating that
for nine twenty five today, right, Yes, sir, John's got
a lot of great new music today.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
Oh, it's gonna be worth it. Stay in your cars,
don't go into work.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
It's just that's asking a lot of people. Toby gad
bumped him though, nice guy like nice guy. The song
is getting great reviews actually too, it's very good. On
the text line three one and four three, let's do
first sip. If you got a cup of coffee in
front of you, join us today's first sip. You guys

(21:58):
might have a recollect of this. Do you know the
parable of the two Wolves? Have you ever heard that?
I don't think parable being a short story trying to,
you know, give you insight into life and teach you
a lesson.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
Sometimes I know the tortoise and the hair.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
This is not that. It's the parable of the two wolves,
and it varies in how you tell it. It can
be like, oh, Grandma talking to her grandson. I heard
as a child as a Cherokee chief talking to one
of his kids. So I'll tell it as a grandma
talking to your grandson. And the grandma tells her grandson

(22:35):
she goes, in each and every one of us live
two wolves, a good wolf and a bad wolf, constantly
fighting for control. You have two wolves inside I be,
always fighting for control. The good wolf is all about
doing good in life and treating people with respect and
being kind and loving others. And the bad wolf, obviously

(22:56):
is consumed by jealousy and hate and the darkness of
this world. And the little boy says to the grandma, well,
if these wolves are always fighting inside of me, who wins?
And the grandma says, the one you feed? How do

(23:17):
you feed the wolf inside of you? Are you feeding
the one that is full of jealousy, darkness, hatred, whatever intolerance?
Do you feed that wolf? Or do you feed the
wolf inside of you that's full of kindness and love.
How we feed our wolf dictates how we are as
a person and how we feel ourselves. So you feed

(23:41):
the good wolf, not the bad one. You guys never
heard that one before.

Speaker 5 (23:46):
I love it never.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
I think. Wherever you are right now, I want you
to feed that good wolf inside of you. And how
do you feed a good wolf? I think you know,
I have to hearing the story. And how does a
good wolf sound? The good wolf?

Speaker 12 (24:09):
Oh, the good wolf, Oh, the good Wolf.

Speaker 5 (24:22):
The good Wolf.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
One four three my f M.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
You let out your inner good Wolf, go right ahead.

Speaker 1 (24:31):

Speaker 10 (31:34):
From sedan's and SUV's to full size trucks experience the
incredible power and fuel efficiency with Toyota Electrified.

Speaker 5 (31:41):
Three things you need to know right.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
Now, seven twenty. It is Valentine in the morning. This
is one of four three MIFM heavy rains have been
causing problems for people across South in California. The flooding,
the blocked roads, and mud piling up in areas recovering
from recent wildfires and Altadena, some cars were stuck in
very thick mud until cruise dugged them out. In Malibu,
firefighters sustained minor injuries after his vehicle got caught in

(32:04):
a large debris flow. The storm system will move out
of the LA area today. Fish will say there is
the potential for more mud slides which can occur long
after the rainfall has ended, so we have to keep
an eye on that. The NBA All Star Game is
going down to Sunday instead of the traditional Eastern Conference
first the Western Conference. A new All Star format is
a mini tournament with four teams and three games. This

(32:27):
comes after fans criticized previous All Star Games for being boring.
Only two players from LA will be playing, Lebron James

see if this is exciting or not. John's got some
music news.

Would You Hold?

Speaker 2 (33:35):
Doesn't it feel like they should be singing this to
each other, and that's kind of it and not the
rest of the World's kind of funny. It feels like
it's so like they're just looking into each other's eyes
right now. I've got that vibe. It's just the two
of them doing it.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
I love the lyrics too.

Speaker 7 (33:47):
She's essentially saying, I'm not scared of you leaving. I'm
not scared in love with somebody else.

Speaker 4 (33:51):
I'm just scared of straight up just losing you. Like
that's the biggest fear to be.

Speaker 5 (33:55):
Right now is how they.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
Watch.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
We've got five thousand dollars coming up after this song,
so one A, four to three. My fantas is balance

Speaker 5 (34:15):
Hi.

Speaker 17 (34:15):
The reason why I would love to win keep with
Cash is because I've been with my girlfriend for three
years and she's been taking care of my son since
she was literally nine months old, and now he's four,
and so she's been wanting to get married and I
want to post to her. The thing is, we share
banks together, and she's every transaction I do. And if

(34:36):
I get this money, I'm gonna take her Disneyland and
I'm gonna post to her there.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
Hello, Carlos, how are you, my friend? I'm doing alright.

want that money?

Speaker 6 (35:21):
Well?

Speaker 7 (35:22):
I would say, but oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
Is that person there with you right now?

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (35:27):
Oh, if that person is there with you that we
just talked about in the radio second ago, say banana
fudge pie.

Speaker 17 (35:35):

we got to keep this a secret from what do

Speaker 2 (35:43):
Why are we calling you?

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Why?

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Five minutes? Maybe?

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Well, we've got to do this now. We got to
do now.

Speaker 4 (35:49):
We don't want we can have five minutes, no know.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
What the money is for? He can? Can you just
say you won the money and not say what it's for? Carlos, Yeah,
I can do that because okay, if his reaction is yeah,
totally normal, all right, do you want to have Is
she there right next to you? Is she questioning who
you're talking to?

Speaker 16 (36:09):
When isn't she?

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Well maybe, well maybe this isn't the right one, then
maybe this is the right one. Well, put me on
a speakerphone real quick.

Speaker 9 (36:17):
Okay, okay, okay, you're speaker.

Speaker 2 (36:21):

Speaker 2 (37:01):
What are you guys gonna do with the money you
got all this cash?

Speaker 13 (37:03):
Well?

Speaker 9 (37:04):
I have something in mind, just can't say. But we
plan on going on a trip.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Nice dude, take a little trip. Man has some fun
with that money, right, Yes, sir, good for you. How

have a name, by.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
The way, Yes, my name is Brianna.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
Rianna. Your boyfriend just got five thousand dollars. What do
you want to do with that money?

Speaker 4 (37:34):
I don't know, and I'm gonna tell you right now.
Blow it all at once, you know. Oh, I think
I think we will good. I like that. You deserve that.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
Thank you.

Speaker 9 (37:43):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
All right, all right, thank you. Everybody hanging on and
get your information right, Yes, sir, hang t what's see
is that the response you were hoping for. You wanted screams.
Didn't you ruing surprises? And you know, ruined anything?

Speaker 12 (38:00):
You said?

Speaker 5 (38:01):
I have something in mine?

Speaker 8 (38:02):
But I can't say.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
She doesn't know what you doing with your hands.

Speaker 5 (38:11):
Yea, they went up when he said that she's waiting
for a proposal.

Speaker 7 (38:16):
So when he says and now she's going to be like,
now there's no reason it's not coming. I know you
got the money, hang it, blew it.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
I didn't blow anything.

Speaker 5 (38:26):
No, you didn't.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
You did know you're talking about it on the radio,
right now we did.

Speaker 8 (38:32):
We did before this too.

Speaker 4 (38:34):
She didn't.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
She didn't hear that. Now she's hearing this part. That's
not me, that's not immediately, that's all you look at
my antenna, don't want People are saying it's not our ball,

(38:54):
and some people were saying we ruined it coming in
now sex line three one four three. She definitely know.
Girls always know he ruined it by saying he has
something in mind, but he can't say so that's on
Carlos surprise ruin with Valentine's follow up questions, Well, I
mean we should have just asked him to do it

(39:16):
on the air. I was hoping he would. I know, right,
you're looking for that moment at this point. Why not Yeah,
my gosh, anything for the moment, or just do it
on the air right now. I think it's gonna be great.
She maybe she didn't hear the end there, you know,
because what happens is when you called me to like
that live in the air, then they immediately run and
they turn up the radio to hear themselves, and we're

(39:38):
on a delay of about one minute in case you
guys say dirty words. So this word, hi, you're gonna
hear it sixty seconds after it came out of my mouth.
And that's how all radio stations work, right, So she
might have run over and turned the radio up. Maybe
maybe not.

Speaker 5 (39:53):
That chance, but you know they've probably discussed getting engaged,
maybe together.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
Befriend everyone because don't give you fear.

Speaker 18 (40:06):
The room is er car now.

Speaker 5 (40:09):

Speaker 16 (40:29):

Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
And what is today?

Speaker 5 (01:10:05):
It's a my free ticket Friday. It's my ticket Friday.

Speaker 4 (01:10:08):
Hey, guys, do not appropriate my culture. Culture pizza for
anybody this week.

Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
Pizza Italian?

Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
Well, when I was there, they didn't have any like
in Italy.

Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
Yeah, we were looking for it.

Speaker 4 (01:10:22):
You didn't find pizza in Italy? What that?

Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
And Fedinil Fredo. I realized it's not an Italian though.
I think for some reason, I think that like pizza
might not be Italian. Am I just crazy saying that?
Or is this something I just gotta say? Yes?

Speaker 4 (01:10:34):
Been in a fact check before I make funny of
it's creek.

Speaker 5 (01:10:36):
I had pizza in Italy.

Speaker 2 (01:10:38):
No, I've had pizza in Italy too, I just didn't
know where it was made. Yes, you went to.

Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
Italy and it has originated in Naples in the eighteenth century.
Its yea, all right, So there we go, back off
my culture.

Speaker 2 (01:10:47):
You had to look it up.

Speaker 4 (01:10:49):
I just like the triple fact check.

Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
It's a John's New Music Friday. Here we go.

Speaker 4 (01:10:54):
We got a lot of bigger release. I'm done with that.

Speaker 7 (01:10:56):
We got a lot of big releases today. I want
to shout out three of them for you. One of
them is going to be Sabrina Carpenter because she just
dropped a deluxe version of her Short and Sweet album,
five new songs, including this one, which you already know.
Please Please Please, but it's a clab with Dolly Parton Pease.

Speaker 12 (01:11:13):
Please please don't prove please please don't bring me tears?
Well just if my man so nice? Heartbreak as one
goes another.

Speaker 5 (01:11:34):
There you don't emberse me like the love.

Speaker 4 (01:11:40):
You can hear Dolly's vocals in there.

Speaker 12 (01:11:42):
Please please.

Speaker 4 (01:11:45):
She's also got her own first right here.

Speaker 1 (01:11:49):
Idea, Babe, maybe you stay inside.

Speaker 5 (01:11:52):
I know you craved me some fresh air.

Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
What's a ceiling Fanish so naps because they're.

Speaker 8 (01:11:58):
So happily.

Speaker 5 (01:12:00):
Is me. I'm just kidding, really really, I think it's.

Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
Kind of interesting she brought Dolly in there.

Speaker 7 (01:12:09):
Sabrina has this like fifties pinup glam esthetic that she's
been using, and it's right up Dolly's signature style. So
kind of a fun not to that there, especially considering
the fact that Dolly.

Speaker 4 (01:12:18):
Partner is seventy nine years old. Yes, seventy nine.

Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
Years old, seventy nine.

Speaker 7 (01:12:23):
She's said, walk it for her, like you hear your
voice in there, and then you hear the number seventy nine,
You're like, oh right.

Speaker 2 (01:12:28):
She's doing pretty good, yeah for seventy nine, right.

Speaker 7 (01:12:30):
And it's no secret this has just been a massive
album for Sabrina Carpenter. She's taken home Grammy's because of it.
So now she's added to it, celebrating it a little bit,
giving it a little bit more life. She got five
new songs, Short and Sweet Deluxe from Sabrina Carpenter.

Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
Now here's what I don't think you were ready for.

Speaker 7 (01:12:46):
Sam Smith dropped a new song today and if you
love that og ballad, Sam Smith's song powerful vocals.

Speaker 4 (01:12:53):
You're gonna love this one. Love is a stillness.

Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
Oh, this is a stillness. Ve news.

Speaker 14 (01:13:01):
You are the ground when not strong, even the silence
drum numbers you.

Speaker 2 (01:13:12):
You're like a rock and roll and song. The this
guy's voice, it does something to me. Sam's voice does
something to me. They could see Mary had a little lamp,
I know, and I would be like fantastic and just.

Speaker 4 (01:13:35):
A strip piano too.

Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
I just forget the.

Speaker 15 (01:13:41):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:13:42):
Sam has that voice.

Speaker 7 (01:13:44):
Stillness, and they've been to some different music styles, but
this one's personally my favorite, just the emotion.

Speaker 19 (01:13:51):
Album.

Speaker 7 (01:13:52):
So they dropped to tease for this on socials in
the very first ideo. There's this thirty three million views
in one tease clip. I think fans would so excited
to welcome back Sam Smith and a familiar Sam Smith.

Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
So is this an album that's being dropped or just
a song that's going on.

Speaker 4 (01:14:05):
To a song?

Speaker 7 (01:14:06):
We don't really have a lot of details on whether
or not an album's following or all of that, but
this is just the first single right now that we've
heard from them in some in some time, and perfect
for Valentine's Day. When you love someone, you know they
bring you peace, and it's like a stillness you never knew.
And that's why the song is called love is a stillness?

Speaker 2 (01:14:21):
Do you fill that with your wife? Ry a stillness
a piece? Sometimes?

Speaker 4 (01:14:27):
I guarantee you do. When you have a long day
of work and you have your best friend there at
the end of the.

Speaker 7 (01:14:31):
Day, like it kind of goes away and you get
to talk to someone that wants to hear about it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
Is that how our lives are? Sometimes you and Jill
are living two totally different lives than Brian and I.

Speaker 5 (01:14:42):
Yeah, think about it's just you and your wife.

Speaker 2 (01:14:44):
I've thought, Yeah, go ahead.

Speaker 5 (01:14:46):
With you and your wife. Yes, alone for no kids.

Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
Okay, but when is that twice a year?

Speaker 12 (01:14:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
Right? I mean the dogs are always there barking to
go out that between us, or it's just me and
her and the dog and below deck. We're not going
over a list of things I need to do right
things around the house. When you get those windows repaired.

Speaker 5 (01:15:10):
Today, yes, maybe just two minutes you two with your wives,
just have that stillness together on Valentine's Day.

Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
We'll call you during it.

Speaker 5 (01:15:22):
Please don't speaker.

Speaker 2 (01:15:25):
I do the twenty second hug with her you know.

Speaker 4 (01:15:29):
That's a stillness.

Speaker 7 (01:15:30):
Yeah, a force stillness, but a stillness.

Speaker 2 (01:15:33):
No, there is a thing if you give somebody a
twenty second hug. If you can hold a hug with
somebody for twenty seconds, it releases some hormones or endorphins
or something in your body. And this came from New
England Journal Medicine that can change the chemistry of the
person you're holding and put them in a better mood.
So don't just do a quick hug, hold it for
twenty seconds. I like that.

Speaker 4 (01:15:55):
Let love be a stillness, stillness right there.

Speaker 5 (01:15:57):
All right.

Speaker 4 (01:15:58):
Finally, this is my favorite release of the week.

Speaker 7 (01:16:00):
It's an artist that goes by the name role Model,
and I think he's someone you should know right now.
But first I want to play you a bit of
this fun track that came out today. It's called Sally
When the Wine Runs out.

Speaker 16 (01:16:35):
Conter.

Speaker 7 (01:16:37):
He's kind of got this summer feel to it, And
I feel like this artist right here, role Model, he's
got a really unique opportunity right now. He released this
album last year that's taken off. He's doing numbers on
social many of his songs are going viral. But I
think he's on the precipice of a come up right now,
because some people have wondered recently where are all the
male pop.

Speaker 4 (01:16:55):
Stars at think about it for a second, pop.

Speaker 7 (01:16:57):
Girl, he's a running the show right now, but who's
wrapping the guy? You may be up Benson Boone, but
he's kind of in his own lane. The rest are
from a different generation, justin Timberlick's.

Speaker 4 (01:17:07):
Kind of old up there. You know, he got pulling
Bieber He's been out for a while.

Speaker 2 (01:17:12):
Is he ten Lake's kind of old album? I know
it sounds like just like ten doing this, So it's
real though, like the pop girlies and stuff. He Burbidge,
it gets me every time. I love it.

Speaker 7 (01:17:20):
John Bends, Yeah, but he's even kind of faded a
little bit, Like he's just a great album last year
that I personally love, but I don't even know if
he's running the pop scene right now for males. So
there's kind of this space there and role models a
potential bright light of all the male artists.

Speaker 4 (01:17:35):
There's something unique to him.

Speaker 7 (01:17:36):
He's attractive without being intimidating. He's kind of playing with
his masculinity in this way that gen Z's been doing lately.
He's a heart Frog on socials and right now he's
on tour with Gracie Abrams, who's on her own COO.
So the two of them together right now are kind
of just enjoying some of this popularity, and I feel
like there's an opportunity for him to get a little
bit more popular.

Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
What's you look like described to it?

Speaker 5 (01:18:00):
Gosh, he's got like a lot of hair, like it's
all postled everywhere.

Speaker 8 (01:18:04):
Dark hair, dark eyes.

Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:18:08):
Yeah, he looks like he's tall and handsome. He is, yes,
runs out.

Speaker 4 (01:18:15):
There's something in this song. I think it's one of
his best and this one's gonna last a while.

Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
Do you predict that we'll play this yere on my FM?

Speaker 4 (01:18:28):
I don't know. I think it's too early to predict that,
all right for.

Speaker 7 (01:18:31):
Me, Because for him, I think within the last few
weeks is when I've really started to notice it gained
popularity on.

Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
The socials and stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:18:37):
Yeah, So I think when he.

Speaker 7 (01:18:38):
Takes this tour with Gracie Abrams this year, we'll have
to see he'll pop with that.

Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:18:42):
But this is a deluxe version of his album Kansas Anymore.
That's how today.

Speaker 7 (01:18:45):
This song is Sally When the Wine runs out exactly,
And if you want some new music, there is a
full playlist on that revamped iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (01:18:57):
Just search my playlist and that'll pop right up.

Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
At first, I didn't like it. Now I'm kind of
into it. You know what kind of grows on you?
It does. Really He's chilling. And where are all the
you know, the pop boys? All right? The pop girlies
are having their moment, but the pop boys are just
sitting there spinning. Where the boys at? We always say
that Valentine in the morning, where the boys at?

Speaker 4 (01:19:23):
And that's your new music day?

Speaker 19 (01:19:25):
Thanks Johnny, my fam.

Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
It is Valentine in the morning. Darren, good morning, how
are you today?

Speaker 9 (01:19:42):
I'm doing fantastic.

Speaker 2 (01:19:44):
This isn't Darren Noel, is it. No, Darren Noel is
a good friend of mine. Darren Nowell is a guy
that was dating Kathy Hasselback back in high school on
a mad crushing Kathy Hasselback. But Darren Noel was like
six foot three, tall, handsome, look like Tom Cruise, but
six three.

Speaker 9 (01:20:01):
Well, I have to say, I'm six foot two and
tolm handsome, but I'm not that person.

Speaker 2 (01:20:05):
It's time to apologize. D Yeah, Darren, apologize well, she
was never mine. Hey, Dualifa, you're going congrats.

Speaker 8 (01:20:16):
It's my free ticket, Brida.

Speaker 5 (01:20:17):
You want a pair of sold out tickets to see
Dualipa at Kia Fora on October fourth, And we will
have these tickets all day today on my FM. Whenever
you hear a Dualipa song, call us would be like
Darren and he'll be winning tickets.

Speaker 2 (01:20:37):
Like Darren, Darren. Who's the background right now? Who's that?

Speaker 11 (01:20:41):
This is my daughter, Natalie?

Speaker 2 (01:20:42):
Hey, Natalie, Hi? How old are you? Natalie?

Speaker 15 (01:20:47):
I am eleven turning twelve?

Speaker 2 (01:20:49):
Oh, congratulations on that. Do you think you're going to
do a lipa with dad?

Speaker 18 (01:20:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:20:54):
I think so?

Speaker 2 (01:20:55):
Yeah, I think so too. You think you're going to
school today or what's the plan with that?

Speaker 9 (01:21:01):
We actually have no school today. We have President's weekend off?

Speaker 2 (01:21:05):
Does President Day?

Speaker 6 (01:21:06):
Like?

Speaker 2 (01:21:07):
Isn't that Monday? You have today off too?

Speaker 9 (01:21:09):
We have Friday and Monday?

Speaker 5 (01:21:11):
Oh that's lovely?

Speaker 2 (01:21:13):
School? Is Mike kids out of school today? The calendar
he's off Monday doesn't say anything about today. Well that's nice, man.
Celebrate the President's You love the presidents, don't you? Young lady?
Can you name the very first president?

Speaker 4 (01:21:29):
We ever had George Washing Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:21:33):
Yeah, okay, all right, now you're playing the big boys.
How about number two who was also our first vice president.
I'll give you a hint, and he was his second
president of the United States. What was his name? John Adam? Okay,
all right, all.

Speaker 4 (01:21:47):
Right, we only want to do now.

Speaker 2 (01:21:48):
Okay, all right, John Adams, who was number three, and
we'll stop it right there, the third president. It was
kind of the guy that was always going back and
forth with John Adams. Real ladies man too. Yeah, fed
you that line. I know, he fed you that line.

Speaker 7 (01:22:06):
School.

Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
She's a genius. Genius. Do you know something. I'm gonna
leave you with this. Congrats and duleipa. Do you know
that John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, opposite sides of political picture,
went back and forth for many many years as we
formed our government and stuff like that. John Adams, though
and Thomas Jefferson late in life became good friends and
actually died on the same day. And do you know

(01:22:30):
what day that was? That day was July fourth. What
are the odds of two founding fathers who went back
and forth in the political world dying on the same day,
July fourth?

Speaker 9 (01:22:41):
Yeah, that's weird.

Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
Don't need school. Oh you're a history teacher?

Speaker 11 (01:22:48):
All right?

Speaker 2 (01:22:52):
What's happened there?

Speaker 5 (01:22:55):
